Pairing Peripherals Together Through Gaming Computer Keyboard and Mouse Bundles
Having a gaming keyboard and a matching mouse together is a necessity for your success in whatever game you play. Razer has many gaming keyboard and mouse bundles for you to choose from, including options in the Ornata and BlackWidow lines. You will have to look at multiple things when getting these peripherals ready for your gaming or esports use.
How Is the Fit?
Look at the overall fit of your control bundle before using it:
Positioning. You can find a mid-height keyboard or even a lapboard to place on your lap next to a pad for the mouse control.
Wires. Devices are made with both cords and also with cordless features. A cordless setup gives you more control over your game and lets you use a better physical position for playing, but you should review how the wireless link between the controls and computer work.
Cushioning. A cushion or rest on the bottom part of your gaming setup keeps you comfortable. A pad may work to the bottom of a BlackWidow or Cynosa keyboard.
Ergonomic Body. Your gaming keyboard must have a membrane with keys that are laid out evenly along its body. The mouse should have a build that is easy to handle without your hand slipping off of it.
See the Lights
The lights on your game controls will add a good look while also letting you know what in-game controls are available. A backlit surface can appear on both parts of your bundle and will include lights that change around your keycaps. These lights will change based on the motions you make in your game and what functions are open, although your backlighting system should world with multiple profiles for all the games you want to play. A multi-color layout will appear on Chroma editions of the BlackWidow keyboard.
What Are Macros?
The macros on your mechanical keyboard and mouse are important for your gaming success. These are added programmable controls that you can assign commands to on-the-fly. With macros, you will trigger one of these switches to activate an event in your game. You can find extra mechanical switches on your keyboard or a few small buttons to the side of your mouse to help you with your programming needs. You can see such buttons on the Lancehead or DeathAdder control setups among many others from Razer. Some of these macros use Chroma colors to distinguish their functions within your game. 9

911 Emergency Service | Public Safety & Company Information

SAFETY
What is Basic 911 service?
Basic 911 service is an emergency telephone system which automatically connects wireless 911 calls to a designated 911 Communications Center. Basic 911 may or may not provide the wireless phone’s 10-digit call-back number and estimated location. The handset must have battery power and be in a coverage area to complete a 911 call.
What is Enhanced 911 Phase I service?
Enhanced 911 Phase I service is the first step in providing better emergency response service to wireless 911 callers. Public Safety/911 Communications Centers need to send a letter to T-Mobile requesting Phase I service deployment at their agency. Once Phase I service has been implemented, when a wireless 911 call comes into the 911 Communications Center (also called a Public Safety Answering Point or PSAP), the call-taker’s computer screen will show the wireless phone’s 10-digit call-back number if one has been assigned to the calling handset. In the event the wireless phone call is dropped, the call-taker may contact the caller. Phase I service also identifies the cell site/sector location information that the call was originated on to the call-taker’s computer screen. This provides the call-taker with a general location (i.e. within the site coverage area) of the caller. The handset must have battery power and be in a coverage area to complete a 911 call.
How do I know whether Phase I or Phase II services have been deployed in a particular area where I’m making wireless calls?
Because there are over 6,100 911 Communications Centers in the United States, we suggest you contact the 911 Center in your area by calling their non-emergency/administrative phone number (usually found near the front of the local phone book or directory) to determine that agency’s ability to receive wireless Enhanced 911 calls.
Do I need to purchase an upgraded handset to receive basic 911 or E911 services?
No. All of T-Mobile’s wireless handsets give T-Mobile subscribers access to Enhanced 911 services (also called “E911”). E911 service gives T-Mobile the ability to route a 911 call to the designated 911 Communications Center serving your location and deliver your telephone number and location information automatically to the emergency operator answering the call. E911 is different from Basic 911 service because Basic 911 does not provide the 911 Communications Center with your telephone number or location information.
As a T-Mobile subscriber, do I need to sign up for Phase I and II service?
No. The Public Safety/911 Communications Center serving a particular area requests the service from T-Mobile, not the subscriber. Once the service is requested by the 911 Communications Center and deployed by T-Mobile, it is provided for all the T-Mobile network users in that area. T-Mobile has deployed Enhanced 911 Phase I and Phase II service throughout much of the country.
What is Text to 911 service?
Placing a voice call to 911 is your best option during an emergency. At this time, some 911 Centers are able to receive and/or respond to text messages sent to 911 via a T-Mobile handset. If a customer attempts to send a text to 911 in an area where the service is not available, an auto-reply message will be sent to the handset stating: “Please make a voice call to 911. There is no text service to 911 available at this time in this area. This is a free message.” T-Mobile began the deployment of Text to 911 service in mid-2014. Public Safety/911 Communications Centers will need to send a letter to T-Mobile requesting Text to 911 service deployment at their agency once they are ready to receive text messaging. Please note, making a voice call to 911 is still the most efficient way to contact emergency services.
Once a Public Safety/911 Communication Center requests Phase I and II service from T-Mobile, how long does it take to have the service available?
The Federal Communications Commission has mandated wireless carriers to deploy Phase I and II services within 6 months of a request from the Public Safety/911 Communications Center. Occasionally, this timeline is adjusted per mutual agreement.
Do I need to purchase an upgraded handset in order for Phase I and II services to work?
No. T-Mobile’s Phase II solution does not require subscribers upgrade or change their handset. The level of service is the same regardless of whether you are a postpaid, or prepaid subscriber.
What happens when I call 911 from my wireless phone?
The T-Mobile network will attempt to route your 911 call to the designated 911 Communications Center (also called a Public Safety Answering Point or PSAP). When your call is answered by the 911 dispatcher, be ready to answer questions such as: 1. Where is the emergency? Provide highway name, direction of travel, mile marker, intersection, etc. 2. What number are you calling from? Always give your area code and wireless phone number. 3. What exactly has happened? Clearly describe what has taken place.
I have T-Mobile prepaid service, can I still reach 911?
Yes. All T-Mobile wireless handsets can process 911 calls, regardless if you are a prepaid or postpaid subscriber. The wireless handset must have battery power and be in a wireless coverage area to complete a 911 call. If your call to 911 is disconnected for some reason, you will be able to receive a call back from the 911 Communications Center as long as your wireless handset has battery power and you are still in a wireless coverage area.
I kept my phone number from a different state when I moved. When I dial 911 from my T-Mobile handset, will my call be routed to the closest 911 center?
Yes. The T-Mobile network will route your 911 call to the designated 911 Communications Center, regardless of the 10-digit phone number assigned to the phone. Be sure to provide your area code with your phone number to the 911 dispatcher.
What should I do if I accidentally dial 911?
You should stay on the line until the 911 dispatcher has answered the call and indicate the call was made by mistake and no emergency assistance is needed.
If I have subscribed to Wi-Fi Calling service, do I need to register the location of my device for 911 purposes?
Yes. When you first enable Wi-Fi Calling on T-Mobile, you must provide us with the primary street address at which the Wi-Fi Calling service will be used (“Your E911 Registered Address”). When you a place a 911 call, even if you have Wi-Fi Calling services enabled, if a cellular connection is available, handset should attempt to place 911 call over the handset’s native dialer using a cellular connection to improve call quality and location accuracy for emergency services. We may transmit Your E911 Registered Address to the 911 Communications Center that answers the call and it may be used to help emergency responders locate you, but due to the limitations associated with Wi-Fi calling you should always provide the 911 Communications Center with your contact information and current location when calling 911. You agree to update Your E911 Registered Address if you plan on using the Wi-Fi Calling service at a location different from your E911 Registered Address. You can update your E911 Registered Address by accessing your MyT-Mobile.com account or by contacting T-Mobile Customer Care.
What level of 911 service will I receive using Wi-Fi Calling service?
Wi-Fi Calling services use a broadband internet connection to make calls, including 911 calls. Calls to 911 using Wi-Fi Calling operate differently than 911 calls made over a cellular network or a landline phone. If possible, use a cellular connection or a landline phone to place any 911 calls. When you a place a 911 call, even if you have Wi-Fi Calling services enabled, if a cellular connection is available, your handset should attempt to place the 911 call over the handset’s native dialer using a cellular connection to improve call quality and location accuracy for emergency services. However, when you first enable Wi-Fi Calling on T-Mobile, you must provide us with the primary street address at which the Wi-Fi Calling service will be used (“Your E911 Registered Address”). If you call 911 over Wi-Fi, we may transmit Your E911 Registered Address to the 911 Communications Center that answers the call and it may be used to help emergency responders locate you. However, because of the limitations associated with Wi-Fi 911 calling, including the fact that the broadband internet connection utilized may be supplied by a third-party unaffiliated with T-Mobile, you should be ready to provide the 911 Communications Center with your contact information and current location when calling 911. You agree to update Your E911 Registered Address if you plan on using the Wi-Fi Calling service at a location different from Your E911 Registered Address. You can update Your E911 Registered Address by accessing your MyT-Mobile.com account or by contacting T-Mobile Customer Care.
How does RTT to 911 work?
RTT calls may be answered by emergency services personnel using TTY devices. Consumers using RTT to contact 911 should be aware of the differences between RTT and TTY, including how certain characters are translated between the two and that emergency responders who answer the call are likely to use TTY etiquette in their responses. If you experience difficulty making an RTT call to 911, you may want to try an alternative means of reaching 911, including making a voice call or using a Telecommunications Relay Service.
Is it necessary to test my handset/service by calling 911 when I do not have an emergency?
No. Please do not call 911 to simply test the system. T-Mobile works very closely with the 911 Communication Centers to deploy the best possible 911 service. Please be sure to register and update the location of your service as described above.
Where can I get additional information on Public Safety/ 911?
Federal Communications Commission
National Emergency Number Association
Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials
Emergency Services Interconnection Forum
What level of 911 service will I receive using my WiFi Calling handset when I am away from my registered location?
When you first enable Wi-Fi Calling on T-Mobile, you must provide us with the primary street address at which the Wi-Fi Calling service will be used (“Your E911 Registered Address”). When you a place a 911 call, even if you have Wi-Fi Calling services enabled, if a cellular connection is available, your handset should attempt to place the 911 call over the handset’s native dialer using a cellular connection to improve call quality and location accuracy for emergency services. You should provide the 911 Communications Center with your contact information and current location when calling 911 using Wi-Fi. Furthermore, you agree to update your E911 Registered Address if you plan on using the Wi-Fi Calling service at a location different from Your E911 Registered Address. You can update Your E911 Registered Address by accessing your MyT-Mobile.com account or by contacting T-Mobile Customer Care.
Are there any limitations to using TTY to contact 911?
Calls to 911 from a TTY will not work when using WiFi Calling or Voice over LTE (VoLTE). If you are deaf or hard of hearing and need assistance in communicating over the telephone, T-Mobile recommends that you use an internet-based Telecommunications Relay Service such as Video Relay Service, IP Relay Service, or IP Captioned Telephone Service, including for calls to 911. T-Mobile’s HSPA+ and LTE data services can support these relay services. In addition, as of December 31, 2017, T-Mobile Real-Time Text (RTT) technology is available on T-Mobile’s network and can be used on select devices to contact 911. For more information, see www.t-mobile.com/accessibilitypolicy
What level of 911 service will I receive while roaming?
Federal regulations require all wireless carriers to deliver 911 calls to the correct Public Safety/911 Communications Center. However, T-Mobile cannot guarantee any level of 911 service on any network other than T-Mobile’s own.
Best prepaid phone plans

Save money with these prepaid plans
The Big Three carriers — AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon — offer premium experiences with deals on new phones, but for many people, the deals are not worth their high asking prices. Instead, a prepaid plan provides all the speed and coverage most people need for a lot less. And since prepaid carriers use coverage from one or more big carriers, you won’t need to give up coverage to save money. Whether you’re a light user looking for a cheap plan or a heavy user needing an unlimited connection, there’s a prepaid plan for you on every major network.
Save money without giving up coverage with a prepaid phone plan
Source: Mint Mobile
Mint Mobile 15GB
Best overall
Mint Mobile’s 15GB plan sits right in the middle of Mint’s plan stack, with plenty of data for most users and a low price for those willing to pay for the year. With Mint Family, you can get Mint’s best rates with a three-month renewal that’s more digestible with up to five lines.
Pros
Fast 5G data on T-Mobile’s network
Excellent phone compatibility
Plenty of data for most people
Cons
Recovery fees push the price higher
Must buy a minimum of three months
From $20/month
Mint Mobile took a unique approach to wireless service with its multi-month discounts and simple plans. While many other prepaid carriers have scrambled to offer similar value, Mint has managed to stay ahead of the pack with consistent plan upgrades for new and existing customers. Mint currently offers four plans, all with unlimited talk and text, and lower prices for those willing to sign up for longer. Mint plans come with 5GB, 15GB, 25GB, or 40GB (unlimited) of high-speed data.
Mint’s 15GB plan is a great fit for most people, as it has enough data to stream and browse without worry when you’re away from home. Hotspot usage is included, so you can even use one of the best Chromebooks from the side of a road in a pinch. Mint Mobile is owned by T-Mobile and uses T-Mobile’s network for all of its coverage, including the fastest Ultra Capacity 5G coverage as well as LTE, giving you coverage in most of the country.
For a single line, this plan comes in at $75 when you buy three months, $120 for six months, and $180 when you buy the year. That breaks down to $25, $20, and $15 when broken down per month, so the more you can pay upfront, the better the value.
If you bring two to five lines with Mint Family, you can get the best 12-month rates renewed in three months, making the impact on your bank account more manageable. Keep in mind that Mint charges a recovery fee plus taxes and fees at checkout, so your final price will be a bit higher but still an overall strong value.
Source: Visible
Visible
Best unlimited plan
Visible is a prepaid carrier from Verizon that only offers unlimited data. As a result, Visible’s data is a lower priority than Verizon’s postpaid plans, but still quick enough for most people. If you feel you need more speed, though, you can upgrade to Visible+ with 50GB of premium data and access to Ultra Wideband 5G.
Pros
Totally unlimited data
Great coverage with Verizon LTE and 5G
Taxes and fees included
Cons
No multi-line savings
No Ultra Wideband 5G speeds on the base plan
The watch plan only supports Apple Watch
From $30/month
Visible is a prepaid carrier owned by Verizon that offers only two plans, both of which come with unlimited data. Unlike many other carriers (like Mint Mobile) that simply label large plans as “unlimited” for marketing, Visible’s data is actually unlimited. This even includes the base Visible plan which comes in at just $30 per month. It’s worth noting that Visible data is treated as a lower priority than postpaid Verizon plans or even Visible+ data, but as long as your area isn’t too congested, it will likely be plenty fast. Still, if you need speedier downloads, you can upgrade to Visible+.
Visible has access to Verizon’s 5G network with nationwide speeds on the base plan and Ultra Wideband on Visible+. Ultra Wideband 5G on Visible+ means unlocked speeds using C-band and mmWave coverage, but the base plan is fast enough for many people. Also, both plans have access to Verizon’s LTE network, making rural coverage strong. And if you want to share your data with other devices, Visible includes unlimited hotspot data at 5Mbps. Of course, this won’t be suitable for online gaming or large downloads, but it’s still nice to have.
If you’re an Apple user, you can add an Apple Watch plan for just $5 per month. Unfortunately, this plan isn’t available for the best Android smartwatches, which is a serious drag. There are also no multi-line savings, so there’s no real benefit in bringing the whole family, but adding the watch plan is good news for single-line users looking for a good deal. Visible even includes taxes and fees in its plan price, so there are no surprises at checkout.

US Mobile Unlimited Basic
Best family plan
With Verizon or T-Mobile’s network coverage, US Mobile is a great option for families looking to get connected with a wide range of phones. With Unlimited Basic, US Mobile customers can save by bringing multiple lines to receive premium data, hotspots, and full 5G access.
Pros
Excellent multi-line prices
Access to C-band and mmWave
Premium data included (40GB)
Cons
Taxes and fees are extra
No subscription perks
From $35/month
US Mobile has been gaining traction in the prepaid space with its cheap, flexible plan plus two unlimited plans. Although both unlimited plans are totally unlimited on Verizon’s network, for many, the Unlimited Basic plan is the way to go with 40GB of premium data, 5GB of hotspot data, and access to Verizon’s C-band and mmWave 5G coverage.
For a single line, US Mobile Unlimited Basic costs $35 per month plus taxes and fees. If you bring two lines, that comes down to $30, and with four lines, it’s just $20 per month per line. If you want to upgrade to the bigger Unlimited Premium plan, prices increase by $10 across the board, but you also get more premium data at 100GB, more hotspot data at 50GB, and a streaming subscription with three or more lines.
US Mobile also supports T-Mobile coverage and even includes a SIM for the carrier. However, you’ll get the most data and the premium data perks when you use the Verizon network, so if your phone supports it, you should be using Verizon. Still, it’s nice to know with US Mobile you have an option to try out a phone with a little more personality, like the ROG Phone 7 Ultimate.
Source: Cricket Wireless
Cricket Wireless Unlimited
Best on AT&T
Cricket Wireless is a prepaid carrier owned and operated by AT&T that offers solid rates on the carrier’s network. With a nice range of plans, including a simple unlimited plan with multi-line savings, Cricket Wireless is a great way to save for those covered by the AT&T network.
Pros
Unlimited data on AT&T’s huge network
Strong multi-line savings
Roaming in Mexico and Canada included
Cons
Expensive for single-line customers
No hotspot data
No 5G+ access
From $55/month
Cricket Wireless isn’t the best value in terms of data per dollar, but with strong coverage thanks to the AT&T network and totally unlimited data, it’s a good fit for many. Cricket also has multi-line savings for this plan, bringing it down to just $25 per line, including taxes. Cricket also has an advantage that many other prepaid carriers don’t: a lot of brick-and-mortar stores. Some people don’t want to set up everything online or in an app, so it’s nice to have the option to go in and talk to someone in person.
Cricket’s unlimited plan, Unlimited Cricket Core, keeps things simple with no secret data caps, and unlimited talk and text. No hotspot data is included, but if you need it, you can get 10GB for $10 per month, which isn’t bad at all. But if you’ve only got a single line, upgrading to the Cricket More plan for $5 more makes more sense. If you have three or more lines, there’s no reason to get the 5GB or 10GB since they cost the same as Unlimited Core.
While T-Mobile has made up a lot of ground and Verizon has strong rural coverage, the AT&T network is still the most consistent in the countryside for most. Phone support is strong thanks to the AT&T network working with a wide range of phones, so there’s a good chance you’ll be able to keep using your phone as long as you’ve paid it off or purchased it unlocked.
One thing to remember is that Cricket only comes with access to nationwide 5G on AT&T — that’s low-band 5G with LTE-like speeds. On the other hand, if you want AT&T’s best mid-band and high-band 5G speeds, you’ll need a premium postpaid plan. Still, AT&T LTE and basic 5G are more than enough for most people.
Source: DISH Wireless
Boost Mobile 1GB
Best for light data users
Boost Mobile is owned by DISH Wireless and offers strong coverage using a combination of AT&T and DISH coverage or T-Mobile and DISH coverage. A handful of phones are even able to access all three networks, which is promising for the future. Boost Mobile’s plans can be a good fit for a variety of customers, but its 1GB plan for just $100 per year, is a great option for light users.
Pros
Strong coverage with AT&T, T-Mobile, and DISH Wireless
Solid multi-month savings
Excellent Todo Mexico Plus add-on
Cons
Some plans require multi-month payments
Only available to new customers
From $100/year
Boost Mobile was sold to DISH Wireless when T-Mobile purchased Sprint, and the company has since undergone quite a few changes behind the scenes. For one, Boost Mobile now uses a combination of coverage from T-Mobile and AT&T for the majority of its coverage. DISH Wireless is also working hard to expand its own 5G network and has coverage in multiple cities and suburbs across the country. While it will likely be years before DISH can claim coverage numbers close to that of the Big Three, it’s nice to see another carrier pushing to build a nationwide network.
Boost Mobile’s 1GB plan is fairly simple, with unlimited talk and text and 1GB of high-speed data on whichever network your phone and SIM support. This plan is only available by the year, so you’ll be paying $100 upfront to get connected, but that breaks down to just $8.33 per month, making it a good option for a backup phone or someone who just needs the basics. It can also be a good plan for someone with constant access to Wi-Fi or who just never really got into tech. And only needing to cut a check once a year for phone service makes it easier to stay connected.
One annoying thing about this plan is that it’s only available to new customers. Tip: If you’re already a Boost Mobile customer and want to save some money by moving to a smaller and cheaper plan, you can find a similarly affordable plan by switching to a carrier like MobileX.
source: MobileX
MobileX
Best flexible plan
MobileX is a prepaid carrier focused on eliminating waste. It pulls this off by giving a free phone service while its app tracks your average usage to suggest a plan tailored to your needs. If you need more data, you can easily add some until you get another refill at the end of the month.
Pros
Free service during the prediction period
Affordable data refills
Strong coverage on the Verizon network
Cons
No totally unlimited plans
Not suited to heavier users
From $5/month
MobileX feels like more of an app than a carrier, and that’s not really a bad thing. The company uses its app to allow customers to try its service for free for 30 days while it works on a prediction for how much data you need. The idea is that you probably need less data than you think, and if you’re on an unlimited plan, you could be wasting money. Still, it has two larger plans — a 15GB and a 30GB plan for $20 or $25 per month, respectively, if you need it.
MobileX uses the Verizon network and can be set up in just a few minutes with an eSIM-compatible phone and the MobileX app. If your phone is not eSim-compatible, a free physical SIM will be shipped to you in a day or two. While it’s impossible to tell exactly how much your plan will cost, it will likely come in under $10 per month with unlimited talk and text and 1GB of data. If you don’t make many calls, you can save even more by dropping to 150 minutes, 50 minutes, or no talk and text at all.
If it turns out you need more data, you can add more for around $2 per gig at any time, but you probably won’t need it since your unused data will carry over to the next month, building up a buffer for heavier user periods. MobileX’s flexible plan stops making sense around 10GB of usage, and the app will refer you to its 15GB and 30GB plans.

Google Fi Unlimited Plus
Best for international roaming
Google Fi is a prepaid carrier from Google with a focus on international coverage and extra software features. The Unlimited Plus plan even comes with free data on other devices, including Android smartwatches.
Pros
Full 5G support with T-Mobile
Plenty of high-speed data for most
Free international data roaming
Cons
Expensive for a single line
Extra setup for iPhones might be necessary
No longer comes with UScellular coverage
From $65/month
Google Fi has been popular with the nerdier crowd for years, with special features tailored specifically to Android users in Google’s ecosystem. Google Fi also offers some of the best international coverage options of any carrier, with the Unlimited Plus plan including free data in over 200 destinations. If you find yourself traveling internationally more than a few times a year, Google Fi could be the right choice for you. Although the Unlimited Plus plan is a bit pricey at $65 for a single line and $160 for four lines, if you can make use of the features, it could very well be worth it. Just keep in mind that taxes and fees are extra.
Google Fi Unlimited Plus comes with 50GB of high-speed data, unlimited hotspot usage, and data for other devices; you can use your data on another device with a free data-only SIM and even activate an Android smartwatch for no additional cost. Beyond that, Fi throws in 100GB of cloud storage with Google One and a year of YouTube Premium. This is all on top of Google Fi’s VPN service, which allows you to make the most of public Wi-Fi.
Google Fi mostly uses the T-Mobile network for coverage in the U. S. with full 5G support. In the past, Fi also had UScellular coverage in some areas but has since terminated that deal. It also has agreements with Wi-Fi providers in a few cities to keep your data moving quickly when things get congested. One thing to remember if you’re bringing the family is that iPhone support is a bit behind with some extra configuration required, though 5G support on iPhone was finally added in early 2023 with iOS 16.4.
No matter how much data you need, there’s a prepaid option for you
There’s a reason AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon offer huge discounts on new phones. No, it’s not to reward you for years of loyalty but to lock you into one of their expensive plans for years as you pay off your new phone. While the tradeoff will be worth it to some, pairing one of the best budget Android phones, purchased unlocked, with a prepaid plan will work out cheaper in the long run. If you still want to use one of the best Android phones with all the latest hardware, you can buy it outright or set up a payment plan with the manufacturer to get it unlocked and then use it on any carrier you want.
Mint Mobile’s 15GB plan comes with more than enough data for most people, and it’s quite affordable if you’re willing to pay for a year of service. With 5G coverage on T-Mobile’s massive network, you might even see better performance than AT&T or Verizon outside the city. In addition, Mint Family allows you to bring multiple lines to make the renewal fees more palatable with Mint’s best rates for three months at a time.
Source: Mint Mobile
Mint Mobile 15GB
Best overall
Mint Mobile’s 15GB plan sits right in the middle of Mint’s plan stack, with plenty of data for most users and a low price for those willing to pay for the year. With Mint Family, you can get Mint’s best rates with a three-month renewal that’s more digestible with up to five lines.
Pros
Fast 5G data on T-Mobile’s network
Excellent phone compatibility
Plenty of data for most people
Cons
Recovery fees push the price higher
Must buy a minimum of three months

Pros and Cons of Prepaid Cell Phone Plans
A prepaid plan, sometimes referred to as a pay-as-you-go plan, is one of the best ways to save on cell phone bills. You only pay for the data you use and you are not bound by a long term service contract. However, there are some disadvantages that are worth considering.
Prepaid
What We Like
No contract or credit check.
Pay only for the data you use.
The best parental control.
What we don’t like
You have to pay the full retail price of the phone.
Restrictions on conversations, texts and data can be frustrating.
Limited phone selection.
Weak roaming capabilities.
Prepaid, you choose the service you want to use and then purchase one of the phones offered by that service. You then activate the phone and pay to allocate a certain amount of talk time to it. You can make and receive calls until your talk time runs out, at which point you’ll have to restart your phone to use it again.
Prepaid plans are not for everyone. Here are a few reasons why you might want to try a prepaid plan, and a few reasons why you might not.
Pros
Price: You only pay for the data you use, so a prepaid plan can save you money. This is especially true if you primarily use phones for talking and texting, which are often priced separately (and cheaper) than calling plans.
No credit check: Applying for a two-year service contract with many carriers means you need to pass a credit check. If your credit score is messed up, then you may not qualify, so a prepaid plan is the best option.
Freedom: You are not tied to a long-term service contract, so you can change carriers or phones at any time.
Control: If you are buying a phone for someone else, the prepaid plan gives you control. They can only use as much data as you allocate, so you won’t run into unexpected bills. This is a good option for parents concerned about their children’s phone use.
Cons
Price: Data rates may be higher with prepaid plans than with a contract. You will also have to pay the full retail price of the phone, which often includes a discount or payment plan at the time of the contract.
Time limits. Some plans include unlimited calls and texts, but those with few or no data options usually set limits on the time and number of texts that can be sent. This can be frustrating if you don’t schedule the time accordingly.
Limited roaming : Prepaid plans often have limited roaming options when traveling to other countries. If you travel a lot, you might be better off offering a standard service contract.
Phone selection: Your choice of cell phones is limited to prepaid. Some carriers may only offer a few phones that work with the prepaid option. Some may not even support “smart” features such as web browsing or social networking.
Set up cellular data on iPad (Wi-Fi + Cellular)
Owners of iPad (Wi-Fi + Cellular) models can register a cellular data plan for their device. This will allow you to work on the network in the absence of a Wi-Fi access point.
Using a local operator’s SIM card
When registering a mobile plan at a local operator’s salon, the SIM card will be activated. Simply open the SIM card tray and insert your carrier’s SIM card.
If you can’t connect to a cellular data network, go to Settings > Cellular Data and make sure cellular data is turned on.
Using eSIM
You can register your data plan on your iPad, scan the QR code, or use your carrier’s iPad app. Learn more about using cellular data on iPad. You can also find out which iPad model you have.
Registering an iPad data plan
You can register a data plan with a qualified carrier worldwide.
When registering a data plan for the first time on an iPad, go to Settings > Cellular Data > Set Up Cellular Data. When registering another plan on iPad, go to Settings > Cellular Data > Add New Plan.
Select an operator. If your carrier does not appear, contact them to get a SIM or eSIM card 1 . If you still need help, find out what to do.
Select a plan and create an account or add your iPad to an existing plan.
Press the “Confirm” button.
The plan should activate within a few minutes.
Residents of some countries and regions will not be able to subscribe to local cellular plans. You can get more information from your operator.
Scan QR Code
Go to Settings > Cellular Data.
Click Add Cellular Plan.
Use your iPad to scan the QR code provided by your carrier.
If you are prompted to enter a verification code to activate your eSIM card, enter the number provided by your carrier.
Connect using the operator app
Go to the App Store and download the operator app.
Use this application to purchase a cellular plan.
If you have an iPad with an Apple SIM card or an embedded Apple SIM card
As of October 1, 2022, Apple SIM technology will no longer be available to activate new cellular plans on iPad. Contact your carrier for details on how to activate a cellular plan on iPad.
If you’re not sure if your iPad uses an Apple SIM card, search for your iPad model here and follow the link to view its specifications.
Change your plan
To change your plan or check its status, go to Settings > Cellular Data. If your carrier registered your cellular plan, you may need to contact your carrier directly to change the plan.
You can use multiple data plans on iPad by registering with multiple carriers using your device, adding different data plans for an eSIM card, and inserting a SIM card into the nano SIM card tray. To switch from one current plan to another, go to Settings > Cellular Data and select the option you want under Cellular Plans.
Tariff plan deactivation
Tariff plan can be prepaid or postpaid. To deactivate a prepaid plan with no contracts, do not renew it after the end of the month.
Postpaid plans are renewed monthly. To deactivate a postpaid plan, follow these steps:
Go to Settings > Cellular Data.
Click the carrier name and choose not to renew the plan.
If you get a message that the account type is not supported or there is no View button when you have a carrier SIM card, contact your carrier and ask them to deactivate your account.
Transferring a plan between iPads
If you have a SIM card for your plan, follow these steps.
Turn both devices off: press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears. Move it.
Open the SIM card tray on your old iPad using the SIM eject tool that came with your iPad.
Open the SIM card tray on the new iPad. If there is another SIM card in the tray, remove it.
Insert the SIM card from your old iPad into the SIM card tray of your new one.
Insert the tray until it stops and in the same direction as before it was removed (it only inserts in one position).
Turn on both devices.
Activation may take several minutes. If you need help transferring your plan, or if you have a corporate or postpaid account, you may need to contact your carrier*.
If your data plan uses an eSIM card, follow these steps.
On your new iPad, go to Settings > Cellular Data > Set Up Cellular Data.
If there is a Transfer button next to the name of the operator you want, click it. Then follow the instructions to transfer your plan. Activation may take several minutes.
If there is no “Transfer” button or you cannot transfer your tariff plan, you may need to contact your operator 2 .

Why does a stainless steel refrigerator require special care?
Check out 6 Tips for Preserving Stainless Steel Appliances
Having a stainless steel refrigerator in the kitchen is a desire of many people: in addition to giving it a special charm, the material is more durable than other refrigerators. However, in order for it to be preserved, it requires special daily care, especially when cleaning. Find out how to keep your appliance in top condition to prolong its life.
Why a stainless steel refrigerator requires special care
Stainless steel is a metal alloy of at least 10.5% chromium with a balanced chemical composition for better corrosion resistance. Thus, the material is of higher quality than ordinary steel. By the way, Akris Group knows everything about steel products.
Corrosion, in turn, is the oxidation of steel when it reacts with oxygen to form an orange layer known as rust.
This reduces the risk of oxidation and surface deterioration of the stainless steel refrigerator. This does not mean that the refrigerator does not require special care for better storage. Improper handling may cause scratches, stains or oxidation of the refrigerator material.

Check out 6 Tips for Preserving Stainless Steel Appliances
To prolong the life of your refrigerator and avoid risks, it is important to take the following precautions when cleaning your refrigerator:
1. Despite its durability, stainless steel can corrode when in contact with cleaning agents containing chlorine. Always look at the labels to check for the presence of an ingredient, and if so, don’t put the product in a stainless steel refrigerator.
2. Do not use hard or aluminum sponges as they may scratch the stainless steel of the appliance. Always choose flannel or soft fabric. If there is a risk, do not try to eliminate it by rubbing it with a sponge – this will increase the risk, making it even more obvious.
3. Be careful when dragging the refrigerator during cleaning so that it does not touch hard and pointed surfaces, such as the corner of a table or a vanity unit.
4. Most appliances are made of magnetic stainless steel which allows magnets to be attached, however be careful not to scratch them when moving them. Instead of pulling on the magnet, remove it immediately by carefully replacing it. Do the same with the decorations on the refrigerator so as not to damage the top.
5. Never apply products such as degreasers, solvents and alcohol to stainless steel as they may stain the surface. To avoid stains, make sure all excess chemicals have been removed from the refrigerator after cleaning. A buildup of residue without rinsing can lead to staining and corrosion.
6. Always wipe with a damp cloth to complete cleaning and use a dry cloth to remove fingerprints and keep the stainless steel shiny. Use for cleaning such a refrigerator, only specially designed detergents.

As you know, the most durable and resistant steel to external influencing factors is stainless steel. With its qualities, it has long attracted the attention of manufacturers of various types of products, including manufacturers of refrigerators. Given the high price of the material and the various problems associated with production technology, the use of stainless steel for the production of large household appliances is limited. It is used in the production of only elite and prestigious models, and then only in limited quantities. Elite brands of stainless steel refrigerators are made by European and American leading companies. If the refrigerator stands separately, then the entire cabinet and doors can be made of such steel in it. If the refrigerator is built-in, only the door is made of such steel, while a unit can be created on an individual order, in which the side panels of the cabinet will be made of stainless steel. Manufacturers of this type of household appliances take into account that AISI 304 stainless steel, used for the manufacture of refrigerators, has magnetic properties in order for the magnetic door seal to work stably. To avoid damage during transportation of refrigerators over various distances, the outer surfaces made of steel are treated with a special protective film made of polymeric materials. After installing the product, this film must be removed and the refrigerator inside washed. Each unit is supplied with an instruction manual for use and care, which contains all the necessary recommendations regarding the stainless surface. In the most prestigious and expensive models, the package includes a bottle with a means for treating such a surface. It is recommended to clean the stainless surface at least three times a year using detergents specially designed for this purpose. The use of various acids, chlorine and products that contain abrasive material is strictly prohibited. If we consider the main number of manufactured refrigeration units and refrigerators in the spectrum of mass pricing, then the bulk of this product is made of inexpensive carbon steel, which is then coated with polymer or paint and varnish materials.

Kaiser dishwasher errors
Kaiser dishwasher errors may vary depending on the model. However, there is a list of the most common faults that we share with you. If you did not find your problem among those described below, you should look into the user manual: most likely, the code and its decoding are described there.
There is a universal guide for all errors: first, having discovered a breakdown (unless, of course, this is an error on the display, and not a puddle of water on the floor), try unplugging the device from the network for 10-15 minutes, and then plug it back in. In some cases, this works, since failures in the operation of equipment can be caused by power surges and other difficulties. If it does not help, it is better to call a specialist.
E1
There is no door lock signal, which means that the tank cannot be filled with water. This can happen due to damage to the lock, a loose hopper door, or a broken wiring between the board and the locking device. Simply put, either you really did not close the door, or the Kaiser dishwasher does not “understand” this, because the contacts do not work.
E2
Water intake time exceeded. This means that the dishwasher cannot start the wash cycle correctly due to the fact that it takes too long to draw liquid, and the chamber still does not fill to the desired level.
Excess water intake time can be caused by several reasons. One of them is the wrong connection of the water supply or its disconnection. If the tap is turned off, the machine will not be able to start the wash cycle normally. In addition, the cause of the E2 error may be a clogged filter in the water supply.
If you encounter an E2 error in a Kaiser dishwasher, then the first step to fix it should be to check the water supply connection and its availability. If the tap is closed, then it is necessary to open it and start the washing cycle again.
Water is supplied, but the dishwasher still does not fill up? Check filter. To do this, you need to disconnect the machine from the power supply and open the tap on the water supply. Then you need to remove the filter and inspect it for blockages. If it is clogged, then it must be cleaned or replaced with a new one.
If after checking the connection of the water supply and filter, the problem remains, then you need to contact the specialists or the Kaiser service center for diagnostics and repair. It is possible that there are other malfunctions in the machine that can cause an E2 error – for example, a pump or even a motor could fail.
E3
Drain timed out. The dishwasher cannot complete the wash cycle correctly due to liquid remaining in the chamber.
Timeout for draining water can be caused by several reasons. One of them, the first most common, is a clogged drain filter. If the filter is clogged, then water cannot flow out of the machine normally, which leads to error E3. Try to clean it. To do this, disconnect the machine from the power supply and open the door. Then you need to remove the filter at the drain hole and check it for blockages, clean it, rinse it. In addition, the cause of the error may be a malfunction of the drain pump or a clogged sewer pipe. With the last two points, it is unlikely that you will be able to do something on your own, it is better to call a specialist.
To prevent the filter from clogging, it is important to clean it from time to time, even if the equipment is working normally. It is also worth periodically starting the PMM self-cleaning cycle with the product, but without dishes, setting the highest water temperature. And also preliminarily remove leftover food from the plates so that they do not fall into the working chamber.
E4
The overflow protection system has worked, the water in the working chamber has risen above the permissible level. There are three possible problems:
intake valve defective;
burned out electronic module;
the pressure switch is out of order.
In any case, you can’t do without professional help here, since you need to disassemble the device.
E5
The temperature sensor is defective. This is a device that is responsible for maintaining a certain temperature inside the machine. It is an electronic device that measures the temperature of the water during the wash cycle and transmits this information to the control board of the equipment. If the temperature sensor malfunctions, the dishwasher may not work correctly – overheat or, conversely, use cold water. You should not try to carry out repairs yourself, because the Kaiser dishwasher error may appear due to a short circuit in the connecting circuit or a heater breakdown. This can only be determined with a diagnosis.
E6
The thermistor circuit is broken. This is the name of a device that measures the temperature of the water in the car and transmits this information to the electronic controller. If the thermistor circuit is open, the machine cannot measure the water temperature correctly, resulting in error E6.
An open thermistor circuit can be caused by several reasons: mechanical damage, short circuit, power surge in the network, connecting to a socket without grounding. Usually, replacing all elements of the circuit helps, but if there is no result, you will probably have to change the entire board.
E7
Closed the heating circuit, which means that the temperature sensor does not function as it should. Rebooting this problem will not solve it, most likely, you will need to replace the part.
Errors without codes may also appear during the operation of the dishwasher. For example, the appliance may not rinse dishes or use cold water, not rinse dishes. Such moments also need to be diagnosed and troubleshooted.
In order for your Kaiser PMM to work without failure, it is important not to neglect the user manual and the preventive cleaning measures that are provided in it. However, if the error has already appeared, and a simple reboot cannot fix the situation, it is best to call a specialist from the service center. In this way, you will ensure the safe restoration of the functionality of the device and save the warranty.

What are the sizes of dishwashers
Dishwashers have firmly entered our everyday life. Now, in almost any kitchen, a place is laid in advance for them. Water during the operation of the PMM is consumed much less than when washing the same volume of dishes by hand. There are no problems with cleaning pans, pots, processing children’s dishes, including bottles, and, of course, time is saved. Most models are built-in, closed with a decorative facade. They fit perfectly into the interior of the kitchen.
Modern manufacturers offer customers dishwashers of various capacities, and, therefore, of various sizes. PMM dimensions depend on several parameters:
installation method: fully or partially built-in, free-standing;
the number of sets of dishes for which the PMM is designed. (For a large family, you will need a machine for 10 or more sets, which include: deep and shallow plates, cup and saucer, cutlery. For one person or a couple, a device for 3-6 sets is enough). .
Standard sizes of freestanding dishwashers, regardless of installation methods, are divided into four large groups:
full size;
narrow;
compact;
desktop.
Dimensions of full size freestanding dishwashers
Full-size freestanding units have a standard height of about 85 cm for kitchen furniture and can be installed flush with the countertop. Their width is 60 cm, and their depth is from 57 to 64 cm.
These are high-performance units with a capacity of 12 sets of dishes with an electronic control system and a large set of automatic programs, as well as reliable protection against leaks.
In the Hausdorf online store, you can pay attention to free-standing Smeg dishwashers in retro style – elegant, stylish models in rich colors: for example, the bright red Smeg LVFABRD.
Miele dishwashers
Dishwashers Asko
Neff dishwashers
Bosch dishwashers
Narrow dishwasher size
Narrow free-standing machines with the same standard height and depth (85 cm and 60 cm, respectively) range from 44. 6 to 45 cm in width. They allow you to wash up to 9 to 10 sets of dishes in one cycle and are practically not inferior to full-sized ones in the number of modes and ease of management.
The models presented in Hausdorf have a washing and drying class A and an energy efficiency class of A and above. The most popular Bosch SPS25FW11R has 5 standard programs and a 9-hour delay start.
Dimensions of compact dishwashers
Compact free-standing models are much smaller in height – 44-45 cm. Their depth is 50 cm, and their width is 55 cm, which is somewhat smaller than the dimensions of a standard countertop. They use a condensation type of drying, and the capacity is 5-6 sets of dishes.
These devices can be put on a table, under a sink, on a shelf – the main thing is that the length of the hoses and cable is enough for a proper connection. From 5 to 7 built-in programs cope with washing any dishes.
Desktop stand-alone machines stand out in a separate group, although they almost do not differ from compact ones in terms of parameters.
So, the desktop model Maunfeld MLP 06S reaches a height of 43.8 cm, and its depth and width are 50 and 55 cm. 6 temperature modes and 6 standard programs, delayed start, capacity for 6 sets, low noise level – these are its advantages.
Built-in dishwasher dimensions
Built-in dishwashers are in constant demand and have a wide range. These devices are practical, have a lower noise level due to embedding, and are less exposed to external influences. The decorative facade allows you to decorate the kitchen in the same style.
Full-size built-in machines do not differ in height from other built-in appliances that should fit under a standard worktop – about 82 cm. Their depth is 55-56 cm, and their width is 60 cm. They are able to wash up to 12 to 16 sets of dishes.
Devices with a large selection of washing programs, including silent night and economic, hygienic and quick in half an hour. They are equipped with the most modern drying methods – zeolite, turbo and others. So, the most popular Asko D5536 XL dishwasher has an energy class of A+++, and the number of washing programs reaches 11.
Narrow built-in models with a height of 81-81 cm and a depth of 55 cm in width are from 44 to 45 cm. Many of them can change the height of the legs, and, accordingly, the height of the niche for embedding.
So, the Neff S581F50X2R model with a width of 44.8 cm has a minimum height of 81.5 cm, and a maximum height of 87.5 cm and can be installed in a cabinet or niche of different heights. This model holds 10 place settings. And the height of the Kuppersberg GL 4588 model with 8 washing programs can vary from 82 to 90 cm.
Compact built-in machines are only 44 cm high, 55 cm wide and 50 cm deep. Their capacity, despite their modest dimensions, is quite large – up to 6 sets of dishes.
The package of programs includes everything you need: express, intensive, economical, fast and others. Such devices can be installed in an ordinary cabinet, leaving room for an additional drawer below, and also under the sink or in a closet along with other compact appliances.
For example, Electrolux ESL2450W with turbo dryer and 6 place settings has an electronic control system, very low energy consumption and water consumption.

Four children were found alive in the jungles of Colombia after the plane crashed about 40 days ago, President Gustavo Petro said on his Twitter.
“Joy for the whole country! Four children who disappeared 40 days ago in the Colombian jungle turned out to be alive, ”Petro wrote.
He also posted a photo of the children and the soldiers who found them. All four children are brothers to each other, the youngest is one year old, the rest are four, nine and 13 years old, specifies El Pais.

Show seasonal allergies who’s boss
If you suffer from seasonal allergies, now is when they are at their worst. Stock up on allergy season’s most important products to keep your home, classroom, and office allergen-free. Start with an air purifier to strip the air of allergens like pollen and pet dander and replace existing air filters for improved air quality. Frequently dust, wipe down hard surfaces, and vacuum carpets and furniture to help eliminate pollen tracked in from outside and dander left behind by pets. When leaving the house, check the pollen count and bring a face mask to help filter the air you breath outside.
No matter what you do, it’s unlikely that the symptoms of seasonal allergies can be avoided entirely. Make sure to have over-the-counter cold and allergy medications on hand to battle symptoms, and stock up on facial tissues so you’ll always have one available when you need them.
Spring (Cleaning) is in the air
Spring cleaning and decluttering is a tradition meant to refresh our spaces for the year ahead. Staples has everything you need to clear out the clutter, store and organize your belongings, and all the right cleaning supplies.
Clear out the clutter
Start by preparing a checklist and make sure you have all the necessary supplies. Use storage bins and a label maker to make sorting and organizing easier. Prepare extra boxes for donations and trash bags for the things you no longer need. Look for decorative boxes & baskets that will compliment your home’s décor and use them to organize. You can also use closet organizers and storage drawers anywhere they are needed.
Start with the basics
An all-purpose cleaner, cleaning brush and microfiber cloths will clean most surfaces. Use a duster to remove unwanted dirt and furniture polish to revitalize wood surfaces. Upgrade your broom, dustpan, wet mop, and vacuum to make cleaning any type of flooring a breeze.
The nitty gritty
Spring cleaning doesn’t stop there. There’s so much you can do to reset your home:
Improve air quality and eliminate pollen and pet dander with a new air purifier and an air freshener with a scent you love.
On a sunny day, take the opportunity to clean your windows – you’ll need glass cleaner, a bucket, a squeegee, and paper towels.
Have a step stool or ladder on hand to access hard-to-reach places like the tops of cabinets and overhead lighting.
Replace broken light bulbs and check the batteries in your smoke detectors.
Use drain cleaner to clear up sink and bathtub drains.

All About RCA Audio Adapters and Converters
RCA audio adapters and converters are available for a range of applications. Originally a proprietary design for record players, this type of connection became the industry standard for carrying audio and visual signals. These devices are often used to connect audio equipment or audiovisual equipment like televisions.
What types of audio adapters and converters are available?
These RCA adapters and converters are used for several types of audio and visual feeds. They include:
Patch cords: This is a common type of cord used as a connector. Instrument audio cable is also a common configuration. These cords are designed to carry an audio or visual signal from one device to another. They’re commonly used between DVD players and TVs. They’re also used to plug guitars into amps.
Digital-to-analog converter: This converter transfers a signal from a Toslink digital optical cable into something that can be transmitted through a standard RCA cable. These units typically have an indicator light for power, a left and right RCA output, a Toslink input, a DC5V input, and a coaxial input.
B&O turntable to RCA: This adapter accommodates a 7- or 5-pin connector from a Bang & Olufsen turntable. This adapter makes it possible to plug into a stereo’s standard phono jack connection.
Splitter adapter: This type of adapter splits one feed into two feeds. A common configuration is one 3.5mm headphone jack to two RCA splitter adapters.
RCA to HDMI: This converter makes it possible to use a laptop with a television.
RCA female-to-female: This coupler features two female ports. It allows you to connect more than one audio RCA cable to another.
What materials are used in these converters and adapters?
Metals: A number of conductive metals are used in the connector portions of these adapters and connectors.

in order to rent it from Cox. The first impression when it arrived was that it was small and rather thin. I have heard from several people online that they are having trouble activating their Arris modem with Cox. First, yes, this modem (S33) is compatible with Cox. I confirmed with a Cox representative prior to purchase. The activation process was pretty simple. I connected this modem and used my mobile phone’s hotspot to contact Cox support via live chat. I gave the Cox agent the modem’s model number, serial number, and MAC address (all three of which are clearly marked on the modem’s label). Activation took about 10 minutes. Pretty painless. My takeoff speed is at least as fast as my rented Cox Panoramic model/router. In general, I think that almost anyone with sufficient technical knowledge will be able to install this modem without difficulty. However, remember that you need…

We had an earlier Ar surfboard ris which worked great. Recently our ISP (Cox) offered us a speed boost, but it required an upgrade to DOCIS 3.1 to work. Cox sent us a modem, but I don’t want to pay them a subscription fee, so I bought an S33. Installation was simple, requiring only a phone call from Cox to register the modem. They then reset everything remotely and the system has been working great ever since. Cox then upgraded his speed to MegaBlast for free, making it even faster. However, we will have to review the upgrade in a year when the Cox discount expires and the price goes up $20. The Surfboard S33 looks good and pairs well with the Amplifi Wi-Fi router. I don’t find the blue light on the S33 intrusive, so I left it on. Good product at a good price.

Just installed. Elegant design, looks great. Immediately after activation, more than one cycle passed, indicating a firmware update (yellow flashing) and after a reboot. I didn’t think it would happen 3-4 times in a row. I prepared to return it. But after a few cycles it stuck and is now working fine. However, I’m not entirely sure about Arris customer support. I was told it was paid support and when I asked if it covered a new purchase (under warranty), the rep hung up. Wow! I just hope the modem works without any issues that require customer support. I still haven’t recovered from the SB619 hit0.

I’m used to big and bulky modems of the past, so I was surprised how small it was when it came out. Physical installation was easy as it only has one RF connector and two Ethernet ports. The instructions provided were easy to follow in terms of accessing the interface and setting up there. I was unable to activate it from the Comcast activation page. This will now direct you to use an application that repeatedly refused to accept the MAC address. I ended up contacting Comcast support and was able to activate them after about half an hour of text and email to verify ownership of the account and confirm the activation “order”. I blame Comcast for all this wasted time and effort because activation used to be a very simple and do-it-yourself process. Routing through an app that doesn’t seem to have an up-to-date list of approved modem MAC addresses seems to have been added last year. ..0005

I don’t know how this modem got good reviews. Here’s why: – Poor performance. I replaced this modem with a Motorola MB8611. The Arris S33 has 1-2 dB WORSE SNR per channel than the MB8611. This has a big impact on the other things listed below. Speed. I have a 1 GB service with my ISP. With the S33, the fastest I’ve ever had was around 550Mbps. With MB8611 I have 900 where I should be. Hot. Hot like a flame. Often fails.- LOOK AT MY PHOTOS. Compare the Power and SNR columns. Much worse in ARRIS. My environment (cables, etc.) was exactly the same. FYI, I have direct access to the cable box without a splitter.

I recently upgraded my Arris 6141 modem. Arris 6141 gave me inconsistent speed when not connected. It couldn’t handle the Ultra 400Mbps plan with the Spectrum. On the Arris 6141 I maxed out at 250Mbps/18Mbps on the 400Mbps plan and the speeds were very inconsistent. In fact, it has become obsolete over the years of use. Arris S33 is a dream car. It continually supports the new Spectrum Ultra speeds of 458 Mbps downstream and 18.4 Mbps upstream. I use a Google Nest router with 3 wired Ethernet washing machines and a Google Wifi wireless washing machine in the garage. All my smart devices have become more responsive. I have 8 Nest outdoor cameras paired with 2 Nest Hub Max devices using the highest recording quality and now they work like clockwork. I use over 40 smart home devices and so far everything has been working flawlessly. I wish I had upgraded to an Arris S33 a few months ago. I work from home and had enough of the old Arris…

I would like to start by saying that I am an IT professional and work in this industry. for 24 years. I have a family of 6 and they are all studying remotely in this world of COVID and I have been working from home for most of the last 8 years so home internet is my source of livelihood. I also have a gamer in the family who checks bandwidth and connectivity for me. We moved (to the city) in November 2020, so I have been using the Netgear C7100V for 5 months now. Of course, it had its own Wi-Fi router (2-in-1) and was cheaper and older than the Arris S33. For the past 45 days, while using my old Netgear, my connection to Xfinity has been intermittently interrupted. It turns out the Netgear C7100V was recently removed from the compatibility list. I figured I was better off buying a new modem that was on the list before I called Comcast and complained because the first thing they would tell me was to buy another modem before they would support my issue. board for…

EDIT 3: Upgrade to Xfinity Gigabit level. Always 935 down and 40 up. It’s because I don’t have 2.5Gbps. If you set up a 2.5Gbps network, you should get 1.2Gbps (20 % more than Xfinity). I haven’t had any problems with the modem since I received the product. EDIT 2: Been running for over a week now without a single glitch. So in terms of stability, I don’t expect a reboot to ever be needed. But of course time will tell. EDIT 1: Upgrade to 5 stars. Another infuriating lack of an Ethernet cable on such an expensive modern device. But it was stable for 2 days and I ran enough ping tests on two of my favorites (this one and the Motorola MB8611, both with 2.5Gbps Ethernet for future testing) and after thousands of pings I got it. I plotted this and found that the median and third quartile are almost a millisecond faster. There is no big differential. But even a single muted blue light captivated me from the point of…

In a strict sense the color of an individual LED cannot be changed. Although you will find multi-color LED lights today, what you are seeing is not the individual LED changing it’s color. Light is emitted from the inside of the bulb by multiple diodes of different colors. This is often called a color-changing LED. It’s actually made up of three separate LEDs in one casing.
What is an LED?
LED stands for light-emitting diode. In an LED light, you will find a semiconductor that emits photons when current passes through it. Photons are a form of energy that we see as light.
What gives the LED its color?
When an LED light is lit, we can see a specific color. And this color depends on the level of energy emitted by the semiconductor used. An individual LED can display light in only one color.
Different materials for semiconductors are used in order for the energy level to be controlled. Colored diodes are then created by each of these different semiconductor materials. For a red diode, the semiconductor used is made from aluminum gallium arsenide. Gallium phosphide is the semiconductor material used in green diodes, while the blue diode is the result of using indium gallium nitride.
How does LED light change color?
As we have mentioned earlier, a color-changing LED consists of three separate LEDs in one casing. There is a specific color emitted by each of these diodes – red, green, or blue. And these colors are used because every other color is simply a combination of any of them.
If current is passed through one LED at a specific time, it will appear as a single colored light, either red, green, or blue. Each diode can only produce a single color so when it is powered, it gives off that color.
Other colors can be produced from an LED light by combining the three primary colors and controlling their intensities.
If current is passed through two LEDs at one time, the combined colors can produce another color. So, if the current is applied to the red and blue diodes, it will create a light that is magenta in color. Yellow light is produced if a combination of the red and green diodes is powered. And if the current is passed through the blue and green diodes, it creates a cyan-colored light.
If different levels of current are passed through different diodes, it will create different shades from the main colors. So, if current at 100% brightness is passed through a red diode, the light will be red, but if the brightness is lowered to 50%, then the light produced will be colored pink. Or, if the red is given 100% brightness but the green is given only 50%, then the resulting color will be between red and yellow which is an orange light.
In all, alternating current flow to each of the diodes can result in millions of colors and shades. It is amazing that mixing just three primary colors can achieve this.
If all three diodes are given full current at the same time, then the light it creates is color white.
The switching on or off of each diode is controlled by a microcontroller so that the colors can change. Whatever diode the microcontroller turns on, then that will be the color of the light coming from the lamp.
To quantify the intensity of each diode, a color code is used. There is a numerical value given to each diode. These numbers are between 0 and 255 where 255 is 100% brightness. So, using our example above, where we had the combination of 100% red and 50% green to form the color orange, the color code would be 255, 128, 0. In percentage form this will be 100% (red), 50% (green), and 0% (blue).
It may not be possible for you to be able to customize the colors of your LED unless you can access the microcontroller. However, in recent years, the smart LED became popular. With this technology, you can now control the color of your LED lights. You just need a smartphone app or through remote control.
You can also control the full-color tuning of your LED bulbs by connecting to a local area network. This gives your computer or device the necessary software to be able to change your LED colors. You will then have total control of the color that you want for your lamps and lighting fixtures.
So, with this technological advancement, the colors of your LED light can be changed. There are many uses for colored lights. It is not only used in the theaters for its decorative effects. It can also be used to indicate something when it is not sufficient to only display the on and off option, but there is limited space. There are even studies that show the there are colors of light that can be beneficial or detrimental to sleep.
How can the color temperature of an LED light be changed?
When we speak of color, we are referring to the color of light that is emitted by the diode. This can be any color. However, color temperature refers to the shade emitted by white light. White lights can emit warm or cool visual effects which are measured in degrees Kelvin.

June 22, 2023 6:58 pm
Changing the color temperature of an LED light is not easy to do. The reason for this is that when LEDs are manufactured, their color temperature is fixed. It has a specific Kelvin color which cannot be changed.
But due to innovation, LED fixtures can now have changing color temperatures. These fixtures now come with two sets of LED chips. You can then alternate between cool and warm color temperatures.
This is great since most customers find it difficult to decide which color temperature lamp to buy. So, if you can easily switch from 3000K to 5000K with a simple switch, then the problem is solved. Now, this has been made possible by technological advancements in LED.
What is white color tuning?
White color tuning allows you to change the color temperature of a given fixture manually. This is also called LED color preference.
In general, you will find a dip switch in the fixture. This switch will allow you to change the color temperature from 2700K or 3000K to up to 5000K. In this technology, you will be able to control the color temperature and light output independently.
Now the problem of what color temperature lamp to buy is solved. If you are not sure what color temperature to get, you don’t have to worry. You can simply change it as you want after buying it.
This is also beneficial to those who manufacture these lamps. Now, they only have to manufacture one unit instead of more. With this flexibility, the possibility of having the fixture returned is decreased.
Are there other ways to change the LED light color?
Although remote-controlled LED lights are great for your home, it is quite expensive compared to buying a single-colored lamp. But you can easily change the color of an LED light with some DIY methods.
What is LED light housing?
The housing or casing of LED lights is made of epoxy resin. This material is translucent and the reason why the light comes out of it. LED translucency can be diffused or water cleared.
Diffused LEDs are cloudy in looks and it allows the light to spread out evenly in your home. On the other hand, water clear LEDs are very transparent and made of plastic. This gives a brighter light than the diffused LED. The transparent material used does not absorb or disperse light.
How do you change the LED light color in a fun way?
If your home only uses a white LED, a fun way of changing its color is by using any thin paper or tissue. You need to cut the paper in a size that can easily wrap your LED bulb from the outside.
Before wrapping the bulb, use color markers to color the paper. Then tape them securely to the bulb. If you turn on the bulb, you will now get a different color of light. If you want another color, then you simply change the paper with another color.
Another method of changing the color of your LED bulb is by coloring the bulb directly. What you need to do first is to sand your bulb until it becomes cloudy. Then get rid of the sanding dust by wiping the bulb lightly.
Use a marker to shade the whole bulb. You should not allow spots where white light can escape when the light is turned on. Dry the colors. You can put another color coating is you want your LED to glow nicely. You will have a more permanent color than the first method. You are coloring the bulb itself.
Conclusion
Because of technological innovation, virtually every color in the visible light spectrum can now light your home. Although you may not fully understand how these colored lights work, one thing you know is that now, you can have more realistic, vibrant colors in your artificial lights.
It is not really important to understand how these colored lights work. But it is enough to know that they can provide us with energy-efficient, eco-friendly light that is far superior to any other in the market today.

Color Changing LEDs – How do They Work and What to know For Colorful Lighting
In the past decade, LED lighting has changed the way we see our cities, our homes, and just plain see.
What seems like a generation ago, even traffic lights were changed. Red, Green, and Amber have never looked so good or so safe as they do now, in our opinion and that of city councils. Despite minor icing hiccups at their first introduction to the market. Speaking of color-coded LEDs, what about color-changing LED lighting? How do color-changing LED lights make their colors, and how far can we go with it?
We’re going to answer those questions and more, so keep reading to find out!
Forms of Color-Changing LED Lighting
LED lighting comes in many different forms, such as “corncob” lighting, LED panels (such as in traffic lights), flexible strip lighting, or replacing standard home-use lightbulbs. There are even LED displays that are replacing stadium “jumbotron” screens across the world using color-changing LED principles.
These days, all of these LED lighting options come with color-changing features. LED lighting design is benefiting from integration with the IoT, or the internet of things. Surprisingly, it isn’t that different a concept from LED flat-panel displays you see in arenas, sports centers, and billboards across the world.
This means your LED bulb can not only change colors on demand, but you can even program it using your smartphone or other network-connected devices.
But what does it mean for LEDs to change color? There are some misunderstandings and misconceptions about color changing LEDs and design features of LEDs in general.
Let’s cover some of that now, starting with color temperature.
Color Temperature: Warm to Cool Color
Color-changing LEDs are not all created equal. LEDs do more than turn blue, green, purple, Red, or other awesome party colors. If you’re looking to do some really interesting stuff with your building highlights, then you want them to make these colors on-demand in fun patterns.
“Warm” color is one that goes from the low end of the visible light spectrum with Red and ends at the “coldest” colors of near-ultraviolet or UV. The way the Kelvin scale works in “normal” lightbulbs is a bit counter-intuitive on this scale of warm-to-cool color.
The physical property of heat gives off light as well, which is how we get the Kelvin scale of light temperature. The hotter the filament gets, the “whiter” the light, until it goes into blue and into ultraviolet.
Why We Use a Scale of Heat for Color
At the lowest end of the Kelvin scale, we have 2000K, or 2000 Kelvin, light. The scale ends with “infinity” but in practicality ends at 10000K+ which equals “blue sky” light.
As you can see, the hotter the temperature of the filament the “cooler” the color gets. That is to say, the closer to white or white-blue light you get. The cooler the filament in Kelvins, the “warmer” the color of the light, going to a rusty color called “warm white”.
Anything above 4500K is considered “daylight” and is used for all kinds of work or situations where you need precision lighting and color clarity. For example, surgeries are done in the 4000K to 4500K lighting for clarity of tissue color among other things.
Almost all lighting in luxury scenes, however, uses warm and inviting colors to accentuate golds and browns. These fall between 2000K to 3500K filament temperature. Designers will often advise that you place lighting elements and choose bulbs before you paint or furnish a room, for better color accuracy and matching.
To learn more about the colors of the Kelvin scale takes some investigation into the “Planckian Locus,” perhaps for another time.
But this isn’t the only color change that LEDs go through. In fact, LEDs don’t have a “filament” to speak of, which requires a different kind of color control to reproduce the Kelvin scale range of colors on the Planckian locus.
How Color-Changing LED Lighting Works
LEDs are also known as light-emitting diodes, which have an anode and cathode for powering it. Red LEDs require less energy input, but infrared LEDs require even less. Yes, you can have LEDs that make infrared light, which is how many wireless remote control devices work!
To create their color, pure Red and Green LEDs are made of similar composition. They use:
Aluminum-gallium-indium-phosphide (AlGaInP)
Gallium-phosphide (GaP)
Aluminum-gallium-phosphide (AlGaP)
Red light can also be produced with gallium-arsenide-phosphide (GaAsP) based semiconductors.
Blue LEDs use indium-gallium nitride (InGaN) or Silicon-carbide (SiC)
Red LEDs only require between 1.6-2.0 Vf (forward Voltage), where Green requires 1.9-4.0 Vf, and blue needs the most at 2.5-3.7 Vf. Different colors like yellow are made when, for example, you have an RGB LED that share a cathode.
With an RGB LED you can send more electricity to the anode of the Blue LED, and the least intensity to the Red and Green. This works because they run in parallel, not in serial, and with forward-moving (positive to negative flow) Voltage only.
You can have a dedicated color LED with Red and Green to create Yellow, or have an LED semiconductor made from GaAsP, AlGaInP, or GaP to only emit the Yellow spectrum from the start.
White Light LEDs
Pure White LEDs are made in two different ways.
First is a mixed-color white light that mixes Red, Green, and Blue light (RGB). They are energized at optimal intensities in a multi-color assembly that shares one cathode as before.
The second involves part of the light emitted from a Blue LED through a phosphor, changing it to Yellow. The left-over Blue light mixes with the Yellow to create white. This “phosphor downconversion” has its drawbacks, and limitations in color range, however.
The Bottom Line on Color-Changing LEDs
Whatever method used to create different colors will change the range, brightness, and effect of the light create with LED lighting. This can vary dramatically, where one light is better for every-day home use, and others are used mainly for accent and effect lighting.
It’s important to know what your end-use is going to be and know someone who can tell the difference.

FAQ:
Q: Will the light level decrease over the life of the lamp?
Answer: Yes. They will go out when the bulb is nearing the end of its normal life. But it is very gradual and subtle. This is called lumen degradation and is referred to as L70. L70 is the time it takes the light to reach 70% of the initial luminous flux.
Q: What is the most common cause of LED failure?
A: Heat. Heat is the enemy of electronics, the hotter it is, the shorter the light. However, with good design, our lamp is good at dissipating heat, so the service life is long.

Update:We’ve added pictures of the 750 Ti to show its diminutive size
Nvidia and AMD have been waging a graphics war that’s getting bloodier than ever, thanks to the release of Nvidia’s 700-series and AMD’s R7 and R9-series video cards.
The green team’s newest edition to the market is the 750 Ti, which provides gamers with an inexpensive 1080p gaming video card.
Nvidia’s small-sized 750 Ti runs only US$149 (or £114, AU$219), half the price of the GTX 760, and just $20 more than AMD’s R7 260X, if you account for the 260X’s recent price cut.
While the 260X is a rebadged Radeon HD 7790, Nvidia’s 750 Ti features a brand new GPU architecture called Maxwell.
In the past Nvidia has released new architectures from the top down, meaning they would typically release a high-end video card like the Titan and then slowly release lower-end GPUs with the new architecture.
It’s definitely a savvy move for Nvidia to refresh their low-end offerings first; at $150 the 750 Ti is an impulse buy compared to upcoming Maxwell refreshed Titan Black.
Like other 700-Series cards, the 750 Ti supports G-Sync, a new technology from Nvidia that allows GeForce video cards to play games without refresh rate induced stutter or screen tearing. A G-Sync capable monitor is required, as well as a GTX 650 Ti Boost video card or higher.
I haven’t tested G-Sync out myself, but I’m keen to see how it can smooth out the play experience with the 750 Ti and other compatible Nvidia cards. Another Nvidia-exclusive feature the 750 Ti sports is Nvidia Game Streaming, which allows users to stream games from their PC to an Nvidia Shield.
Little card, big numbers
Unwrapping the 750 Ti, I was pleasantly shocked by its size. The card measures just 5.7″ (14.5cm) and features a single-slot design. Even more impressive is that the 750 Ti doesn’t require any additional power connectors.
AMD’s R7 260X, however, requires one 6-pin power connector and it’s also an inch (2.5 cm) longer. Lastly, the 750 Ti supports up to three displays and features one Mini-HDMI port and two Dual-Link DVI ports.
The 750 Ti is a power-efficient video card that consumes a mere 60W. In contrast, AMD’s R7 260X eats up almost double the wattage with its 115W TDP. Nvidia’s PSU requirement for the 750 Ti is also low at just 300W, so you won’t need a beefy 500W or 750W beast to power this mini GPU. That, combined with its small size, makes it an easy upgrade for a wide swath of systems.
When it comes to specs this entry-level 700-Series card doesn’t disappoint. The card features 512 CUDA cores, a base clock of 1020MHz, and a boost clock of 1085MHz.
The 750 Ti comes with 2GB of GDDR5 video RAM clocked at 5400MHz, too. It’s worth mentioning a non-Ti version will come soon and sport 1GB of RAM and retail for $119/£90. If you’re going to run multiple monitors I’d push you toward this 2GB Ti version, as you’ll have more video RAM bandwidth for doing things across your displays.
Overclocking
I overclocked the 750 Ti by modestly increasing its boost clock to 1169MHz, using EVGA’s Precision X overclocking tool.
Doing so created no detectable stability issues, and provided a performance increase of about 5% across all games, with the exception of Batman: Arkham Origins which only received a 3% boost in performance. Noise was no problem when I overclocked the card, and it wasn’t noticeably louder than when it was stock clocked.
That’s the 650 Ti on the right
To benchmark the 750 Ti’s performance I d it off against AMD’s R7 260X and a Sapphire HD 7790 OC. Both AMD cards sell for $120-$130, so they’re less expensive than the 750 Ti, but not by much. The 750 Ti won every benchmark against the AMD cards, making it the clear winner in terms of raw performance.
I also tested the 750 Ti against last year’s GTX 650 Ti. When averaging all the benchmarks together, Nvidia’s 750 Ti is 22% faster than the 600 series card. The 750 Ti’s performance is impressive, as the 650 Ti almost consumes twice the amount of power with its 110W TDP. Nvidia’s 650 Ti card also features a two-slot design, so the 750 Ti is a slimmer, faster, and more powerful GPU overall.
Benchmarks
All benchmarks were run on the high settings at 1920×1080, (except when otherwise noted) with 4X FXAA enabled. Our test bed consisted of an Intel Core i7-2700K at stock speeds on a Gigabyte Z68X-UD7-B3 board with 8GB of DDR3/1600 RAM, a 128GB SanDisk Extreme II SSD drive, and a 750W Cooler Master power supply.
DirectX 11 gaming performance: Frames per second: higher is better
At $150 the 750 Ti offers impressive bang for buck performance. I saw the card effortlessly handle games at 1080p with high settings. Every game I used for benchmarking, except the punishing Metro: Last Light, naturally, ran at a silky smooth 50-60 FPS.
I’m really impressed by its miniscule power consumption, no additional power connectors required. I also appreciate the sleek 5.7″ single-slot design, which makes this card great for living room friendly small-form-factor PCs. That’s a wise design choice with the Steam Box revolution right around corner.
We disliked
There’s not much to moan about with the 750 Ti, however, if you’re looking for a $150 video card that supports dual-GPU capabilities, keep looking. The 750 Ti doesn’t support SLI, so if you want a budget card that will let you add a second GPU down the line, I’d recommend a trip to AMD country for R7 260X.
Also, the R7 260X currently comes bundled with two games, and the 750 Ti does not, at least as of this writing. This is by no means a deal breaker, but getting to pick between Thief (coming out February 25th), Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Hitman Absolution, Dirt 3, and Sleeping Dogs is something to consider, especially if that lack of SLI support is bumming you out.
Final verdict
Nvidia’s really taken it to AMD with the 750 Ti. It consumes less power and outperforms both the R7 260X and HD 7790 by an average of 11% in both gaming and synthetic benchmarks. Nvidia’s 750 Ti also uses 55W less than the 115W R7 260X, making it nearly twice as power efficient than its AMD counterpart. If you’re in the market for a $150 1080p-gaming GPU the 750 Ti should be at the top of your list.

BenQ PhotoVue SW271C review | Digital Camera World
Digital Camera World Verdict
The BenQ PhotoVue SW271C is an outstanding monitor which performs almost flawlessly – it’s very hard to fault. If you’re after an exacting and reliable screen for precise image or video editing, this is a superb choice. However, the price you pay for this level of imaging fidelity is high, and for the average user – or even many enthusiast – there are rival monitors which offer similar specs to the SW271C and almost as much image quality, but for a lot less cash.

BenQ’s new PhotoVue SW271C is the company’s latest entry in its already extensive range of high quality monitors for photo editing and video editing . It joins two existing 27-inch screens in the PhotoVue range: the BenQ SW271 and SW270C. The latter is a 2560 x 1440 panel, but the differences between the new SW271C the older SW271 are more subtle, as both are very similar 4K (3840 x 2160) IPS (in-plane switching) LCD screens.

Key features
The primary enhancement over the old SW271 is BenQ’s third-generation color Uniformity Technology, which fine-tunes the color and brightness of sub-regions across the screen for a more consistent viewing experience. The SW271C is also a USB-C monitor, with up to 60W Power Delivery – and handy boost compared to the 10W USB-C PD rating of the SW271.

Elsewhere, the new SW271C mostly matches the specifications of the older SW271. It’s a 4K (3840 x 2160) display that boasts superb color space coverage thanks to its 10-bit color technology that means it’s able to show up to 1.07 billion colors. This results in an impressive 99% Adobe RGB, 100% sRGB/Rec.709, and 90% DCI-P3/Display P3 color space coverage.

Hardware color calibration should ensure a high color accuracy of Delta E ≤ 2 for Adobe RGB and sRGB content, and the monitor boasts Pantone and CalMAN validation, with support for standalone monitor calibrators. The SW271C also supports two HDR formats – HDR10 and HLG – making it suitable for video editing and color grading.

The monitor comes with BenQ’s 2nd-generation Hotkey Puck remote control dial for faster and more efficient on-screen-display navigation, plus it enables easier switching between different color spaces for a side-by-side comparison.
If you have a Canon Pixma Pro-10 or Pixma Pro-100, Epson SureColor P600 or SureColor P800 printer and you like using Canon Matt Photo Paper, Photo Paper Pro Platinum, Photo Paper Pro Luster or Photo Plus Semi-gloss or Epson Premium Semi-gloss Photo Paper or Velvet Fine Art Paper, BenQ also supplies its free Paper Color Sync software that’s designed to match the on-screen image to the final print. However, this does use a generic profile system rather than a custom one that’s designed to match individual printers.

Build & handling
The SW271C is supplied in a very large and bulky box, but once you’ve assembled the high quality two-peice stand and attached it to the monitor panel, this isn’t an overly dominating screen and you should find it provides generous screen real estate while still being comfortable to view at typical working distances.
The panel’s 59.6 x 33.5cm display area equates to a 16:9 aspect ratio, which while not suiting the native stills output (3:2 or 4:3) from most cameras, works well by the time you’ve factored in things like the toolbox and control panel in software packages like Adobe Camera Raw and Lightroom.
It’s also possible to rotate the PhotoVue SW271C so it’s in portrait orientation, which seems like a major bonus for editing portrait images, but the 16:9 aspect ratio doesn’t work actually work so well for processing vertical stills. The screen seems a lot longer and thinner in portrait orientation. Nevertheless, it’s a nice to have feature just in case – and it helps with the set-up process.
A plastic bezel of around 2.5cm surrounds the screen, giving it overall dimensions of around 64.7 x 38.8cm. Although it can be mounted on a VESA monitor arm, it only takes a couple of minutes to assemble the included stand and clip the monitor into place. Also, because the screen rotates, there’s easy access to the connection ports. If the rotation weren’t possible, these connection points would a pain to reach as they’re on the back of the monitor facing downwards when it’s in landscape orientation. Before you can rotate the screen, you need to lift up and then turn it in a clockwise direction, it won’t go counter-clockwise from horizontal.
BenQ also supplies a 5-piece hood to fit around the monitor whether it’s in landscape or portrait orientation (one reason why the shipping box is so huge!). This slots neatly into position and is a useful inclusion if your viewing environment has a nearby window which could cast unwanted reflections onto the display surface.
This has the potential to be particularly problematic as the SW271C isn’t the brightest display you can buy. Its maximum brightness of 300 nits means its best suited to use in rooms with subdued lighting, but that’s not uncommon, and around 120 nits is often recommended as an ideal brightness for serious image editing, as it allows your eyes to easily see detail in both shadow and highlight areas.
And it’s not just the hood that improves the SW271C’s ergonomics. Also included is the Hotkey Puck G2. A BenQ exclusive, this circular wired remote control is an easier, more ergonomic alternative control input to the conventional buttons on the screen’s lower bezel. You can use it to switch between input sources, and to change the monitor’s pre-set display modes and settings. While the buttons on the screen bezel work well enough for these functions, the size and shape of the Hotkey Puck takes convenience to another level.
Performance
Thanks to is IPS (in-plane switching) technology and matte panel finish, the PhotoVue SW271C doesn’t suffer from troublesome glare and there are wide horizontal and vertical viewing angles to ensure color accuracy and contrast don’t vary according to the angle from which you view the screen. Compared with a freshly-calibrated iMac, the SW271C looks a little warmer and more vibrant while subtle colocolours r transitions are more apparent. High contrast images also have greater dynamic range and images generally look a little brighter.
Although the screen looks excellent straight from the box, BenQ recommends downloading its Palette Master Elements calibration software to calibrate the monitor’s color and brightness. However, there’s no measurement device in the box so you’ll still need a monitor calibrator. Helpfully, you can calibrate the monitor in several different color spaces and easily swap between the profiles using the Hotkey Puck. So while Adobe RGB is the natural choice for photographers, you can switch to Rec. 709, for example, for video editing.
Lab data
Brightness & contrast:
BenQ claims the SW271C has a maximum brightness of 300cd/m2 and a max contrast of 1000:1. We recorded 275.8cd/m2 and 700:1. The latter is likely due to max contrast only being available by manually selecting User Mode in the Picture Mode menu.
Color Gamut:
BenQ claims 100% sRGB, 99% Adobe RGB and 90% DCI-P3 color space coverage, and we concur. We actually achieved a slightly higher 100% Adobe RGB result, which is highly impressive, and we were able to exactly match the advertised 90% P3 coverage.
Color uniformity:
Color uniformity is excellent across the entire screen, with only a maximum 3.2% deviation from optimal.
Color accuracy before calibration:
A high quality monitor for photo editing should have accurate color, so we measure how close a monitor’s color output is from perfect. A perfect result on the charts below would be zero, with no visible color bars on the chart below. A higher Delta-E score and longer bars on the chart indicate a larger deviation from ideal color accuracy, and therefore a worse performance. Short bars and a low Delta-E number are what we’re after here.
BenQ advertises the SW271C as being factory calibrated with a Delta-E average of less than 2. Our testing found this to be rather conservative, as our monitor recorded an exceptionally accurate Delta-E figure of 0. 77 straight out of the box.
Color accuracy after calibration:
After calibrating with a Datacolor Spyder X Elite colorimeter, the SW271C managed an even more impressive Delta-E of 0.55. With this degree of color accuracy, you can be assured that your images are being displayed with near-perfect color rendition, regardless of the color space in which you’re editing.
Verdict
The BenQ PhotoVue SW271C is an outstanding monitor which performs almost flawlessly – it’s very hard to fault. Color accuracy is superb straight out of the box, and can even be made slightly more accurate with a monitor calibrator. Brightness uniformity is also first class, and while the monitor may not have the sexiest exterior, it’s extremely functional, easy to use, and very well made. The substantial included stand is anything but an afterthought, and the additions of a full shade hood and the useful Hotkey Puck remote controller further help to justify the premium price tag.
But it’s that price tag which is the only downside with the SW271C. If money’s no object and you want an exceptionally color-accurate, high quality monitor for serious image or video editing work, go right ahead and buy an SW271C. However, if you’re after maximum visual bang per buck, the choice isn’t quite so clear cut. BenQ itself offers the equally impressive SW271 (non ‘C’), which is almost identical to the SW271C but costs around 20-40% less. You’ll have to do without 60W USB Power Delivery and BenQ’s third-generation color Uniformity Technology, but if they’re not deal-breakers for you, then the SW271 is a better value proposition. Likewise, a screen such as the Dell UltraSharp U2720Q offers the same size and 4K resolution, along with almost as good color accuracy, but for less than half the price of the SW271C in some regions.

The Best Monitors for Photography and Photo Editing in 2023
There’s one piece of equipment that the working photographer uses more than any other. No, it’s not their camera. Not their favorite lens either. I’m talking about their photo editing monitor.
Unless you plan to outsource your post-production, you will probably spend many more hours staring at a monitor than you do looking through a viewfinder. As such, a high-resolution, color-accurate display is absolutely indispensable, and while we will definitely continue to publish in-depth monitor reviews here on PetaPixel, this roundup will serve as a catch-all for readers who need a quick overview and some buying advice.
Unlike the daily news and individual product reviews you see on the site, this article will be updated regularly as new products and more advanced display technology hits the market, so you can come back to it every time you’re looking to upgrade your photo editing setup. Whether you’re looking for the best curved monitor, the best monitor for HDR, or the best monitor on a budget, we’ve got you covered.
What We’re Looking For
The best monitor for photo editing strikes the right balance between resolution, color depth, color accuracy, and price. When evaluating the best monitors for photography we prioritize color depth and color accuracy, then resolution, then judge whether the price justifies this combination. For example, a monitor with a true 10-bit panel, high AdobeRGB coverage, and 4K resolution is really difficult to find under $4,000… but they do exist.
Other factors play a part: USB-C connectivity is almost expected by now, power delivery is a big plus, the ability to check different color spaces on the fly is a major benefit, and high-end features like extreme peak brightness, full-array local dimming, and a built-in colorimeter help to justify some of the expensive options, especially if you want to edit HDR content.
At a Glance
Best Overall Monitor for Photo Editing: Dell UP2720Q
Size: 27 inches Resolution: 4K Brightness: 250 nits Color Depth: 10-bit Color Accuracy: 100% AdobeRGB (claimed), 98% DCI-P3 (claimed) Extras: Built-in Colorimeter, Monitor Shade Price: $2,000 ($1,600 on sale as of this writing)
When you look at all the factors: size, resolution, color accuracy, color depth, price-to-performance ratio, and the smattering of photo-centric features that you will find useful, it’s hard to beat the Dell UP2720Q. The BenQ SW321C comes close for the same price, but it lacks the built-in colorimeter and we were able to confirm that it uses an 8-bit panel with FRC, not a true 10-bit panel like the Dell.
In fact, the Dell is a rare find in this price range—most other monitors that claim 10-bit at or around $2,000 almost all use 8-bit + FRC, a trick used to create 10-bit color depth from an 8-bit panel by flickering between two colors very quickly. Another 10-bit option in this price range is the EIZO ColorEdge CS2740.
If you need to edit video, and especially if you’re doing work with HDR10 or Hybrid Log-Gamma, there are better monitors out there that hit higher peak brightness and feature full-array local dimming. Check out the “Best for HDR” category below for something that can really burn your retinas and reach the required contrast. If you want unparalleled color and uniformity from a company that specializes in exactly that, the “Best for Ultimate Color Accuracy” category is the place to look. But for the typical reader of this site who wants a large, high-resolution monitor with all the bells and whistles at a shockingly reasonable price, the Dell UP2720Q is our top pick.
Best Budget Monitor for Photo Editing: ASUS ProArt PA278QV
Size: 27 inches Resolution: 2K Brightness: 350 nits Color Depth: 8-bit Color Accuracy: 100% sRGB (claimed) Extras: Quick-Fit Virtual Scale and Built-In ProArt Presets Price: $290
The terms “budget monitor” and “color accuracy” don’t typically go together, but ASUS does a decent job at an extremely accessible price with the ProArt PA278QV. Factory calibrated and Calman-certified, it might not get you amazing AdobeRGB or DCI-P3 numbers (neither are even mentioned) but it compares favorably against its main competition, the BenQ PD2700Q.
It lacks some nice-to-have features, like USB-C connectivity, 4K resolution, or Frame Rate Control (FRC) which many companies use to boost their affordable 8-bit panels to a simulation of 10-bit. But the price is right, the advertised DeltaE is ASUS PA278QV is the way to go.
Best “Bang for Your Buck” Monitor for Photo Editing: HP Z27xs G3 4K USB-C DreamColor Display
Size: 27 inches Resolution: UHD 4K Brightness: 600 nits peak brightness in HDR, 266 nits in SDR Color Depth: 8-bit with FRC Color Accuracy: 98% DCI-P3 (measured), 100% sRGB (measured), Pantone & HDR 600 Certified Extras: Three USB-A ports, two USB-C ports, one HDMI 2.0, one DisplayPort 1.4 Input, one DisplayPort 1.4 Output Price: $674
The HP Z27xs G3 DreamColor 27” 16:9 HDR IPS monitor is a very affordable 27-inch 4K UHD monitor that can achieve slightly better color accuracy than the BenQ SW270C while making an impressive jump to 4K resolution for $125 cheaper.
The monitor can achieve 100% sRGB coverage and 98% DCI-P3 coverage (tested and measured), comes with two USB-C connections, and multiple DisplayPort connections with power delivery of up to 100W. While the HP lacks the easy-to-use control puck that is standard of the BenQ lineup, the on-screen menu is easy to access and has a mini direction pad on the back of the screen for easy navigation and access.
That isn’t to say the BenQ SW270C is a poor choice, but it’s hard to compete with HP’s better color accuracy, higher resolution, and lower price. The HP Z27xs G3 4K DreamColor really is a ton of bang for the buck.
If you want to save even more cash, you can still buy the BenQ SW2700PT for just $600, but you’re giving up a lot to save just a little, which we don’t think is a worthwhile tradeoff.
Best Mid-Range Monitor for Photo Editing: ASUS ProArt PA329C
Size: 32 inches Resolution: 4K Brightness: 400 nits sustained, 600 nits peak Color Depth: 10-bit from a 14-bit LUT Color Accuracy: 100% AdobeRGB (claimed), 98% DCI-P3 (claimed) Extras: USB hub, Picture-by-Picture Mode, DisplayHDR 600 certification Price: $1,150
Best mid-range ended up being a tight race between the BenQ SW271 and the ASUS PA329C. Both offer great color accuracy, but ASUS wins out with its combination of a true 10-bit panel, 100% AdobeRGB coverage, higher DCI-P3 coverage for video editors, 600 nits peak brightness for viewing or editing HDR content in a pinch, and a 32-inch screen, all for the same price as the BenQ.
The monitor also has a USB-C connection with 60W power delivery, a built-in 4-port USB-A hub, a Picture-by-Picture mode that lets you compare color spaces side-by-side, and earns a VESA DisplayHDR 600 certification. All extremely useful features in our book.
Your main problem will be finding one to buy, since the ProArt PA329C has been “on backorder” several times since its release. But if you can find one, it’s the best choice until and unless you can afford our Best Overall pick.
Best Curved Monitor for Photo Editing: Dell U4021QW
Size: 40 inches Resolution: WUHD 5K x 2K Brightness: 300 nits Color Depth: 10-bit Color Accuracy: 98% DCI-P3 (claimed), 100% sRGB (claimed) Extras: KVM switch with 4 USB-A ports, one USB-C port, and an Ethernet Port. 9W speakers. Price: $2,100
The Dell U4021QW is the latest and greatest in curved color-accurate displays. Unveiled just last month at CES, the U4021QW is being hailed as the world’s first color-accurate 40-inch WUHD 5K2K monitor, touting exceptional (for its class) color accuracy, with 98% coverage of DCI-P3 and 100% of sRGB, and 5,120×2,160-pixel resolution in a screen that gives you 33% more screen area than a typical 32-inch 16:9 4K monitor.
It also comes with every connection you could possibly need, including Thunderbolt 3 with 90W of power delivery, an extra USB-C port, two HDMI 2.0 ports, a DisplayPort, a built-in KVM switch with 4 USB-A ports, an audio-out, and an ethernet port. There are even built-in 9W speakers.
There will always be one or two trade-offs when using a monitor like this. For one, you should make sure that your computer/GPU can actually drive it at full resolution, and you’ll almost always be giving up some color performance in order to replace your 2-monitor setup with a massive single display. Dell doesn’t list AdobeRGB performance and we haven’t had a chance to test it yet (stay tuned). But for sheer efficiency, a 40-inch curved monitor is hard to beat, and the Dell U4021QW is currently the best choice for photo and video editors.
Best Photo Editing Monitor for Mac Lovers: Apple Pro Display XDR
Size: 32 inches Resolution: 6K Brightness: 1000 nits sustained, 1600 nits peak Color Depth: 10-bit Color Accuracy: 100% DCI-P3 (measured), 89% AdobeRGB (measured) Extras: Built-in Presets, Full Array Local Dimming (576 zones) Price: $5,000
If you want the ultimate photo editing monitor that’s tailor-made for the Mac, well, there’s no escaping the Apple ecosystem. Yes, this display is absurdly expensive at $5,000 with no mounting hardware, but its combination of 6K resolution, VESA HDR1000 performance, 100% DCI-P3 coverage, and absurd 1600 nit peak brightness make it one of the best photo and video editing monitors on the market, period.
However, these aren’t the main reason we’ve dubbed it the “Best for Mac Lovers.” The Pro Display XDR wins that title because of its seamless integration with its mother operating system and its distinctly Apple-esque design.
There are no controls whatsoever on the display, and as a result, all of its settings are controlled from within the macOS Display settings. From there you can change scaling, adjust brightness, configure settings like “Night Shift” and “True Tone,” and select from the many presets Apple built into the display, including Photography, HDR, Digital Cinema, and Design & Print.
It may not be the best monitor for photographers and photo editors overall—especially if you’re not into video editing or HDR—but the Pro Display XDR is the best choice for those who like to play inside of Apple’s walled garden.
Best Monitor for Photo Editors Who Want Ultimate Color Accuracy: Sharp NEC MultiSync PA311D
Size: 32 inches Resolution: DCI 4K (17:9 aspect ratio) Brightness: 350 nits Color Depth: 10-bit Color Accuracy: 97. 9% Adobe RGB (measured), 97.3% DCI-P3 (measured) Extras: USB Hub, Picture-in-Picture and Picture-by-Picture modes, 3D LUT Emulation Price: $3,000 ($3,250 with colorimeter)
The Sharp NEC MultiSync PA311D gives you more colors, more accurate colors, and more control over your colors than any other monitor we’ve tested to date. In terms of specs, it’s nearly identical to EIZO’s $5,700 CG319X, except that it costs just $3,000, or $3,250 if you buy it alongside NEC’s bespoke XRite colorimeter (which you should).
Click here to read PetaPixel’s full review of the Sharp NEC MultiSync PA311D.
In our testing, the NEC PA311D covers nearly 98% of both the AdobeRGB and DCI-P3 color gamuts, with exceptional uniformity across the entire panel and a maximum Delta E 2000 of less than 1.5. It also gives you an absurd level of control over your colors, allowing you to select the exact chromaticity coordinates of your panel’s primaries, change your white point, adjust gamma and color temperature, and trim the hue, saturation, and brightness of your monitor’s colors in six axes: red, green, blue, cyan, magenta, and yellow.
It’s not the prettiest monitor, but if you don’t care about that, the downsides are really limited to two things:
Maximum brightness is limited to 350 nits, which is a deal breaker if you shoot or edit HDR video.
You have to buy a special NEC-branded XRite colorimeter if you want to calibrate the monitor’s internal 14-bit LUT. No third party colorimeters are supported for hardware calibration.
Assuming these are not deal breakers for you, the NEC PA311D is a hell of a deal, delivering true professional-grade color accuracy and color control for a lot less than the equivalent monitors currently available from EIZO, Dell, Apple, or ASUS.
Best Monitor for HDR: Dell UP3221Q
Size: 32 inches Resolution: 4K Brightness: 1000 nits sustained Color Depth: 10-bit Color Accuracy: 100% DCI-P3 (measured), 94% AdobeRGB (measured) Extras: Built-In Colorimeter, Monitor Shade, Full Array Local Dimming (2,000 zones) Price: $5,000
If you want true HDR performance, you need three things and you need them in spades. They are: brightness, contrast, and color accuracy.
The Dell UP3221Q gives you the best of all three worlds: sustained full-screen brightness of 1000 nits, a staggering 2,000 Mini LED backlight with full-array local dimming, and 100% DCI-P3 paired with 94% Adobe RGB coverage. This is a true VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certified display with more local dimming zones than anything else on the market, so until OLED technology is able to maintain this kind of sustained brightness and uniformity, it’s your best bet for working with HDR content.
Other great features include a built-in Calman-powered colorimeter, an included monitor shade, a built-in USB-A hub, Thunderbolt 3 connectivity with 90W power delivery, and a mode that lets you compare two color spaces side-by-side on the same display. All of this is packed into a 32-inch, 4K display with a true 10-bit panel that doesn’t play around.

Conclusion
If you’re going to process your photos on a computer, it’s best to do so with a good monitor. However, you don’t have to spend a lot of money on it. Even inexpensive monitors, being new, from the assembly line, do not have big flaws in color reproduction. Ideally, of course, properly tune it with a calibrator.
The higher the size and resolution, the more comfortable it will be to work on the monitor, other things being equal.
Budget monitors are 23 – 27 inches with a resolution of 1920×1080. For example, this is Xiaomi Mi Desktop Monitor 1C. The main disadvantage of such models is that manufacturers do not pay enough attention to quality control. On individual copies, there may be different revisions (factory versions) of matrices, the factory settings in them may be inadequate. Also, models with uneven illumination are common. This drawback is noticeable when using the monitor in a dark room on a black image. Such a monitor, most likely, will not be able to be returned under warranty. Therefore, when buying, it is better to connect the monitor to the computer. After that, you need to turn on the black background and examine the picture more closely.
Monitors of the middle price range are more interesting because there is a wider choice of models in terms of resolution, aspect ratio and matrix size. Here there are options with a wide color gamut, like the LG 27UP650-W. If you plan to use such a monitor for serious color work, we recommend that you calibrate it with a calibrator yourself or entrust it to specialists.
Expensive photo monitors are factory calibrated. They have advanced customization options, high reliability and build quality, as well as additional connectors for easy connection of various devices.

How to choose a monitor for a photographer?
Before buying the model you like, we recommend that you pay attention to the main characteristics of the device. They talk about how well the monitor will do its job:
Matrix. Photographers have to work with a wide color range, so choose those monitors that are equipped with an IPS matrix. It will also provide wide viewing angles (up to 178 degrees) to avoid glare at the corners and distortion of the picture when viewed at an angle.
Diagonal and resolution. Here you need to achieve the most favorable ratio. 24 inch models are good with support for 1920×1080 or 2560×1440 pixels. For large options with a diagonal of 32 inches, it is better to choose support for 4K resolution.
Color calibration. Tool needed to detect color patches and correct them using software.
Anti-reflective coating. Matte screens will help you work without discomfort in any lighting conditions.
Ergonomics. Most professional monitors have stands that support screen positioning for comfort: height, tilt, swivel and swivel.
