Good desk, not great quality.
We like this desk however the paint has already started to chip. Especially across the top of the desk. There are big chips where the gray paint is missing and the white is showing from underneath.

The success of your students starts with the right supplies. Whether you’re a parent or caregiver with one or more kids in school, or a teacher responsible for an entire classroom, Staples is a one-stop shop for all the school supplies you need. From writing supplies and paper to school tech and furniture, we have everything on your back-to-school list.
Shop by grade
Staples makes it easy to get exactly what your students need by organizing all the essentials by grade. Shop for preschool supplies like learning toys and rest mats, or elementary school supplies for everything your kids need from kindergarten through 5th grade. Our selection of middle school supplies includes more advanced items like planners and scientific calculators, and you can find everything you need for high school in our high school supplies section. Getting ready for college? From dorm essentials to laptops, get everything you need from our selection of college supplies.
All the essentials for school
Whether you want to shop by subject or are looking for furniture and supplies for learning at home, we’ve got the right selection. Browse classroom essentials including cleaning supplies, storage, classroom décor, snacks, and teacher supplies. For everything from school art supplies to calculators, binders, school backpacks, lunch boxes and more, we’ve got what your students need to succeed.
Take a seat
Whether you’re working from home or outfitting a space for gaming, your comfort is dependent on finding the best chair. At Staples, we provide a broad range of office chairs and seating, so you can find the right fit for you. Select from multifunctional task chairs, computer & desk chairs, drafting stools and more. If you will be using your new chair for multiple hours a day, make sure to get an ergonomic office chair to prevent unnecessary strain.
Comfort, all day long
Office furniture that is the proper size and height makes a big difference. When shopping for chairs, the height of the seat should be adjustable so that the user’s feet can sit flat on the floor with their knees at right angles. Likewise, the accompanying office desk should be at a height where the users’ elbows can sit comfortably at right angles at their sides while typing or writing. Browse our selection to find the combination that’s right for you. If size if a concern, check out our big & tall chairs which can support up to 500lbs.
Game on
If you’re a gamer, you know that a single gaming session can last all day or night. For the best and most comfortable gaming setup, Staples has gaming chairs in colors and styles for everyone. Make sure to match your new chair to an ergonomic gaming desk, the perfect complement for the high-tech gaming computer and accessories you’ve invested in.
Show seasonal allergies who’s boss
If you suffer from seasonal allergies, now is when they are at their worst. Stock up on allergy season’s most important products to keep your home, classroom, and office allergen-free. Start with an air purifier to strip the air of allergens like pollen and pet dander and replace existing air filters for improved air quality. Frequently dust, wipe down hard surfaces, and vacuum carpets and furniture to help eliminate pollen tracked in from outside and dander left behind by pets. When leaving the house, check the pollen count and bring a face mask to help filter the air you breath outside.
No matter what you do, it’s unlikely that the symptoms of seasonal allergies can be avoided entirely. Make sure to have over-the-counter cold and allergy medications on hand to battle symptoms, and stock up on facial tissues so you’ll always have one available when you need them.
Spring (Cleaning) is in the air
Spring cleaning and decluttering is a tradition meant to refresh our spaces for the year ahead. Staples has everything you need to clear out the clutter, store and organize your belongings, and all the right cleaning supplies.
Clear out the clutter
Start by preparing a checklist and make sure you have all the necessary supplies. Use storage bins and a label maker to make sorting and organizing easier. Prepare extra boxes for donations and trash bags for the things you no longer need. Look for decorative boxes & baskets that will compliment your home’s décor and use them to organize. You can also use closet organizers and storage drawers anywhere they are needed.
Start with the basics
An all-purpose cleaner, cleaning brush and microfiber cloths will clean most surfaces. Use a duster to remove unwanted dirt and furniture polish to revitalize wood surfaces. Upgrade your broom, dustpan, wet mop, and vacuum to make cleaning any type of flooring a breeze.
The nitty gritty
Spring cleaning doesn’t stop there. There’s so much you can do to reset your home:
Improve air quality and eliminate pollen and pet dander with a new air purifier and an air freshener with a scent you love.
On a sunny day, take the opportunity to clean your windows – you’ll need glass cleaner, a bucket, a squeegee, and paper towels.
Have a step stool or ladder on hand to access hard-to-reach places like the tops of cabinets and overhead lighting.
Replace broken light bulbs and check the batteries in your smoke detectors.
Use drain cleaner to clear up sink and bathtub drains.
Up your printing game with a Supertank Printer
Looking for a printer with more print capacity that’s better for the environment and your wallet? Shop Staples selection of Supertank Printers for all the benefits of an inkjet printer with the convenience and savings of replacement ink bottles that last longer and cost less per page than standard inkjet printer cartridges.
Find a Supertank printer from your favorite top printer brand including:
HP Smart Tank & Neverstop Printers
Brother INKVestment Tank Printers
Canon MegaTank Printers
Epson EcoTank Printers
And don’t forget to browse Staples Ink and Toner Finder to find the right replacement ink for your new printer. No matter what printer you have, enter the brand, cartridge or printer model into the easy-to-use Ink and Toner Finder, and browse for compatible ink.
Rest assured it arrives safely & securely
Whether you are sending business documents or customer products, shipping and mailroom supplies from Staples make the process seamless.
Keep packing supplies ready for easy shipping. Padded envelopes and bubble mailers are perfect for shipping small, non-fragile items. Pack larger items in shipping boxes that are slightly larger than the item, and use packing peanuts, bubble roll, or other packing materials to keep objects from moving in the box during transport. Choose the right packing tape to ensure your packages will stay sealed. Staples carries clear acrylic packing tape for everyday shipping and reinforced or water activated tape for packages that require a heavier duty seal.
Manage the day-to-day office correspondence smoothly with a wide selection of business envelopes, inter-office envelopes, and catalog envelopes in the mailroom. Have finger pads and envelope moisteners on hand for speedy document collation and a quick seal. Choose security envelopes for confidential office correspondence and inter-office communications. If your office or organization sends out large mailings, consider a paper folding machine and self-sealing envelopes to increase efficiency.
15 Best iPhone Charger Cables That Aren’t Made By Apple in 2023
You’d be forgiven for assuming the best iPhone charger cable comes from Apple. After all, the company’s phones, headphones, and accessories all use a proprietary connection you won’t see on any non-Apple products. When the Lightning cable was first introduced in 2012, all the third-party alternatives to Apple’s own cable were basically junk. They frayed easily. They didn’t always successfully connect to your computer or iPad. They felt janky, wobbling when you plugged them into charging ports and resisting when you pulled them out. And the cheapest of them charged so slowly you probably would have been better off using some kind of novelty hand crank.
In the years since, the universe of cable standards has changed a lot. Lightning cables are old news, since almost all Android phones and new MacBook Pros now charge with USB-C ports. (Who even remembers Micro-USB cables or that weird 30-pin connector?) In addition, all Apple phones since the 2017 iPhone 8 now support wireless charging, no Lightning cable required. In the midst of this revolution, a constellation of third-party retailers started to get their act together. Before long, Amazon was chock-full of cables that were stronger, faster, and (usually) cheaper than those you’d find at Apple.
If you’re looking to buy the best iPhone charger cables in 2023, you can skip the $20 plain-white cord at the Apple store. All the below options are durable, charge your smartphones, AirPods, or older iPads quickly, and are Apple MFi-certified (which means that it should transfer data to and from any iOS device without issue). Whether you’re just looking for a cheap replacement for a fraying cord, something that’s compatible with your new laptop, a cord with an eye-catching design, a super long cord so that you can scroll through Instagram on either side of your mattress, or a cord that can resist literally being cut by a chainsaw, we’ve got you covered.
The Best Lightning Cables, at a Glance
So your phone is dead. And your charger. What’s new? Forget all the chitter chatter and figure out which Lightning cable you need right now.
The Best Lightning Cable, Overall: Anker Powerline II Lightning Cable, $17
The Best Super Cheap Lightning Cable: AmazonBasics Nylon USB-A to Lightning Cable Cord, $10
The Best USB-C to Lightning Charging Cable: Anker Powerline II USB-C to Lightning Cable, $18
The Best Long Charging Cable: Native Union Belt Lightning Cable, $35
The Best Short Lightning Cable: Anker Powerline II One-Foot Lightning Cable, $13
The Most Stylish Charging Cable: Native Union Night Lightning Cable, $40
The Best Indestructible Charging Cord: Fuse Chicken Titan+, $38
The Best Lightning Cable Multi-Pack: Yefoot iPhone Charger (6-Pack), $12
What is Lightning charging?
Since 2012, iPhones have been equipped to charge via Lightning cables, or eight-pin cables, which replaced older 30-pin charging cables. And these puppies can do a lot more than charge. They can also transmit data between devices, allowing you to easily transfer photos and files between devices if you’re not uploading everything directly to the Cloud. Lightning cables are also exclusive to Apple products, which has been a source of frustration because USB-C cables are much more widely used. In fact, the European Union recently agreed to force all devices to be charged by USB-C by 2024. The idea for establishing a common standard for charging is so popular that U.S. U.S. senators are pushing for the same thing.
What to look for in an iPhone charging cable
Length: An iPhone charging cable can range from anywhere between a foot long to 10 feet in length. If you’re charging in your car or at your desk, you probably don’t need too much cable to go around because your phone will already be at arm’s length. On the other hand, if you want to venture a little further from your power outlet (say, in a crowded coffee shop), a longer cable will give you mobility while still allowing you to charge your phone.
MFi certification: Originally launched in 2005, the Made for iPod program let third party manufacturers get certification that their iPod-related accessories were actually compatible with iPods (and not just fudging it). The program was later shortened to “MFi” to account for iPods, iPhones, and iPads. If you ever buy an accessory for your Apple product and it’s not manufactured by Apple, just make sure it has MFi certification so that you know it has Apple’s stamp of approval for compatibility with Apple gear.
Durability: Over time, your cable will inevitably start to wear down and fray as you tug it and bend it and toss it into your bag. If you’ve used an Apple charger for more than six months, you know what we’re talking about. For extra durability, look for cables that come encased in Kevlar or braided nylon, which helps protect it from snags and fraying, while still ensuring that it’s flexible and easy to bend.
The Best Lightning Cable, Overall: Anker Powerline II
Anker’s Powerline II USB- A cables are the perfect cord for someone who thinks, “I want the same cord that came with my phone, but cheaper. ” Its Apple MFi certification means it’s fully compatible with Apple devices, and its lifetime warranty ensures that the only time this cord will let you down is if you lose it. The Anker Powerline II comes in a bunch of different lengths (more on that later), but if you’re just looking for the most direct replacement for the default Apple Lightning cable, buy the three-foot model. The cable also comes in three different colors, from basic black to red.
The Best Super Cheap Lightning Cable: AmazonBasics
There are some cables you can pick up for cheaper than this guy, the AmazonBasics Lightning cable, but you should probably steer clear. The AmazonBasics cable has basically every feature we expect of a cable in this price and more—it’s MFi-certified, comes in four different colors, and has a lifetime warranty. We prefer the Anker Powerline II for its durability and charging speed, but for 10 bones, the AmazonBasics option is probably the cheapest cable worth buying. Throw it in your glove compartment or the bottom of your bag and you’ll never be without a backup.
The Best USB-C to Lightning Charging Cable: Anker Powerline II
If you’re looking for a USB-C to Lightning cable, the Anker Powerline II is another no-brainer choice. USB-C to Lightning cables are excellent for hooking up to your Macbook, since they let you juice up your phone without having to worry about pulling out a dongle. Plus, USB-C cables tend to transfer power a lot faster than conventional USB-A port cables and take advantage of fast charging, while still giving you all the same structural benefits. USB-C Powerline II cables are durable, MFi-certified, and even boast a lifetime warranty. They only come in white and black, but we don’t think that’s too big of a trade-off for a souped-up charge.
The Best Long Charging Cable: Native Union Belt
If you’d like a Lightning cable with just a little more curb appeal, look no further than the Native Union Belt cable. It’s MFi-certified, and boasts a limited lifetime warranty, which means that even if its fabric snags and the cable stops working, you should still be able to get it replaced. Plus, in its longest iteration, you get to appreciate whichever one of the three lovely colorways you choose at their fullest. Most people will be just fine with the Anker cable, but if you want something that looks slightly more like a natural extension of your furniture, this is the cable for you.
The Best Short Lightning Cable: Anker Powerline II
As established Anker Powerline II fans, it stands to reason that we’ll be recommending the shortened version of their lightning cable in this category, too. Not many people opt for a one-footer for obvious reasons: Primarily, that it’s so short. It probably won’t stretch between your outlet and your bedside table for overnight charges, but it’s great for hooking up to portable chargers when you’re out and about (or charging from your laptop) without you having to hassle with a super long cord. It’s also MFi-certified, fast charging, and durable, as you’d probably expect.
The Most Stylish Charging Cable: Native Union Night Lightning Cable
The Native Union Night cable is a 10-footer that checks all the standard boxes, but with a handsome black and white chevron design. The braided fabric cable is extra durable, MFi-certified, and charges up in a flash. Another unexpected perk: It’s got a large, heavy knot right next to its Lightning connector that prevents the cord from falling off the table when not in use. Choose from five different colorways, including Zebra and Indigo, as well as three different connector types.
The Best Indestructible Charging Cord: Fuse Chicken Titan+
Fuse Chicken’s cords are coated in stainless steel and overprepared for whatever you throw at them. The brand says its cords can resist the teeth of a chainsaw, which we were not given the budget to test sadly, but we can attest that their cords do feel like they will last forever. You could pass it down to you grandchildren, but they’ll likely have no idea what a charging cable is. The indestructibility is a solid five-star plus, but even more practical is the sturdy cord that can hold itself up, not unlike a snake. Will you look like the laziest person in the world watching videos on your phone while the cord props it up on your couch? Sure. Should you stop doing so? Absolutely not.
The Best Lightning Cable Multi-Pack: Yefoot iPhone Charger (6-Pack)
If you’re not looking to spend a full $50 on a pack of Lightning cables, though, you could also take home this six-pack for a whole family (offering two three-foot cords, three six-foot cords, and one 10-footer) for only $12. The brand Yefoot isn’t a super recognizable name, but the specs are right: braided nylon for durability and looks, MFi certification for compatibility with a slew of Apple devices, and more than 18,000 positive reviews to back it up.
7 More Lightning Cables We Like
Belkin’s USB-C to Lightning cords are a reasonable alternative to those from Anker. They stay plugged in well, transfer power quickly, are MFi-certified, and hold up well to the wear-and-tear of daily use. The only drawback is they’re a bit more expensive than those from Anker. So unless you have a particular affinity for the Belkin logo (an admittedly adorable rendering of a person stretching out their arms), we think you should still stick with the Anker.
Imagine being able to doomscroll Twitter from either side of your couch. That life of luxury is within your grasp, as soon as you’re willing to embrace the long-ass cable lifestyle. This one is also part of Anker’s PowerLine II collection, but it’s super-long—10-feet long to be exact. The nylon braid adds a nice touch, but otherwise, it’s the same cable at a length (and price) that makes it an easy pick. Tuck one of these in the cushion of your comfiest piece of furniture and resolve to never leave your apartment at 48% battery again.
Anker’s powerline III MFi-certified USB C to lightning cable claims to be its softest texture-wise and the strongest for avoiding fraying and tears. That’s thanks to a combination of copper wires, flexible graphene, and a soft silicone gel exterior. Beyond functionality, it also nails the aesthetics, taking the millennial pastel route (so you might want to coordinate it with your new iPhone 14). Besides the standard white and black, Anker’s cords also come in the delicate grey purple seen here, seafoam green, and pink—all edged in rose gold.
This Lightning cable is made from a literally bulletproof material. Its braided wire is extremely sturdy, thanks to a tightly woven casing of reinforced Kevlar. It’s MFi-certified, so you’ll have no trouble using it with any of your Apple devices, and it charges much faster than the conventional Apple charger. The cable also comes with some useful built-in details, like a rubber cable tie that helps keep it wrapped when not in use. That’s ideal if you’re the kind of person who cannot fathom using a cable organizer—this cable organizes itself.
Now that we’ve sold you on every iteration of the Anker Powerline IIs, you might be ready to invest in a pack that comes in varying lengths for whatever outlet situations you find yourself in. This Ankerline Powerline II three-pack is our top pick for buying in “bulk,” with a three-foot, six-foot, and 10-foot version of the brand’s MFi-certified cables. The lifetime guarantee sweetens the deal, ensuring that you can easily replace them if something malfunctions down the line.
If you’ve ever wondered why your cables are always fraying and ripping, here’s your answer: You’re always bending it. Listen, this is not your fault, rather Lightning cables—and chargers in general—are poorly designed and naturally bend by default. Some brands, like Anker, knew the solution was to create a 90-degree angle so that the connector sits flush against the bottom of your phone to reduce any bending or twisting that occurs naturally while you use your phone as it charges. The cable is MFi-certified, and it’s backed by a lifetime warranty.
You’re probably familiar with Mophie’s line of portable battery packs, so it makes sense that Mophie’s tech purview also covers bang-up charging cables. Its Fast Charge USB-C cable is MFi-certified, plus compatible with Fast Charge PD to reduce the time it takes to actually charge your phone. Like any good charging cable, the braided nylon cable makes the whole thing fairly durable, but our only hesitancy about this charger is that it’s a bit pricier than even our top pick without offering anything beyond what the Anker Powerline II has.

Types of electrical outlets and voltage around the world
When traveling abroad, the format of the outlet and the voltage in the network are important, because each of us will need to charge our mobile phone, laptop or tablet. Most power supplies for electronic devices such as laptops, chargers, mobile devices, camcorders and cameras have a universal power supply, so they are able to operate at a supply voltage of 100 to 240 volts, and a frequency of 50 or 60 Hz.
There are two voltage standards in the world: European – 220-240V and American 100-127V. And two AC frequency standards: 50Hz and 60Hz. USA, Japan and most South American countries use 100-127V 60Hz. The rest of the world mainly uses European 220-240V 50Hz. In addition, there are several countries in the world with different voltage and frequency variations, such as the Philippines, where the voltage is 220-240V with a frequency of 60 Hz.
Map-scheme of use in different countries of the world of voltage and frequency of current
Electrical outlet standards have developed independently in most countries, so for the most part, plugs and sockets from different countries are not compatible with each other.

Throughout the former USSR, as well as in some. Soviet sockets according to GOST are common in Eastern Europe – they are similar to type C, but the diameter of the plug pins is reduced from 4.8 to 4 mm; as a result, the “Euro plug” may not fit into the sockets of the “Soviet” socket, and the contact of the “Soviet” plug with the “Euro socket” can be very unreliable; industry standard power supply – 3-phase 380 V, 50 Hz

The Dual Electronics IP35 Headphone Jack to RCA Adapter will make a great addition to your boat or home audio system! The IP35 Adapter can connect to your stereo system’s RCA interface so that you can listen to all your personal favorites stored on your media device over the stereo. As long as it has a 3.5mm AUX port, it can connect! The IP35 Headphone Jack to RCA Adapter can be used in your home or even for your boat stereo system.
Product Features:
BOAT & HOME USE – the IP35 is compatible for both boat and home stereo interface usage
iPlug RCA- the iPlug Interface can connect to a stereo’s RCA inputs as well as a 3. 5mm AUX cord
3.5mm AUX CABLE – an Audio Cable is also included and can connect to any media device with a 3.5mm headphone jack
RCA and 3. 5 mm connectors are among these numerous connectors that help you connect, transmit and enjoy audio. These connectors are used by many on a daily basis. However, most people have little to no knowledge about them. This article will shed light on these two connectors.
One question, however, that is asked many times is “between RCA and 3.5mm, which sounds better?”
There is no noticeable difference in sound quality between RCA and 3.5mm connectors. Both connectors output an unbalanced stereo audio signal. This means they are both susceptible to signal degradation and noise interference.
Table of Contents
What is RCA?
RCA connectors are also known as phono connectors. They are a type of connector that is used to transmit audio and video signals. RCA is actually an old system for carrying audio signals. However, a lot of consumer A/V equipment still supports RCA connectors.
This type of connector is used to connect audio and video devices like stereos to speakers or decoders to televisions. RCA cables transmit analog signals.
I will speak briefly on the types of RCA cables available. However, you can read more on RCA connectors and cables from my previous article, where I compared RCA and 1/4 inch connectors. You should definitely check it out if you want to learn more about RCA connectors.
Composite RCA Connector
A composite RCA connector is a type of RCA connector. This type of connector comes with three plugs or pins on them. These plugs are labeled red, white/black, and yellow. The red and white/black jacks transmit analog audio signals, while the yellow jack transmits analog composite video.
Component RCA Connector
Component RCA connectors are an advanced version of RCA connectors and can be used for high-definition TV connections. This is because they produce resolutions that are higher than composite RCA connectors and cables.
Component RCA cables and connectors have three video lines which are usually color-coded as red, green, and blue.
Aside from the video lines, they also have two audio lines colored red and white/black. The red color-coded video and audio lines usually have an additional color to distinguish them from each other.
What Is a 3.5mm Connector?
A 3.5 mm connector is also known as a 1/8” connector or mini-jack. The 3.5 mm connector cable is very common. This is because it is used in most portable consumer electronics like smartphones, laptops, etc. And we are all probably familiar with it. It is used by lots of people around the world.
A 3.5 mm connector is primarily designed for transmitting music. However, some 3.5 mm cables can be used for transmitting voice signals as well. I will talk about it later on in this article.
3.5mm TS Male Connector
3.5mm TS male connector is a two-conductor unbalanced mono cable. It does not support stereo sound and microphone functionality. This means you cannot use this cable to talk on calls. It does not have left and right channels in it as well.
3.5mm TS connector is designed to have only a Tip and a Sleeve. This connector allows audio signals to be transmitted in mono. The tip transmits the audio signal while the sleeve serves as a ground and return path.
3.5mm connectors work best when used in short cable applications. This is because the sleeve is susceptible to noise, so there is a lesser chance of distortion if the cable is short.
3.5mm TRS Male Connector
3.5 mm TRS connectors are similar to TRS ¼” connectors. These connectors are divided into three main parts: the tip, ring, and sleeve. 3.5 mm TRS connectors are a three-conductor version of 3.5mm connectors. In 3.5mm TRS connectors, the tip and the ring serve as the left and right channels, with the sleeve serving as the ground.
A 3.5mm TRS cable can transmit balanced mono signals and unbalanced stereo signals. It supports only stereo and not microphone functionality. What this means is, you can use this connector to listen to music but can’t speak through it.
3.5mm TRRS Male Cable
TRRS stands for Tip, Ring, Ring, and Sleeve. This connector is a four-conductor version of the 3.5mm connector. It is commonly used in smartphone connector applications. 3.5 mm TRRS connectors come with microphone functionality. This means they enable you to speak through your cable when you connect them to your smart device.
TRRS connectors are used for devices that come with TRRS ports. These devices that come with TRRS jacks include most smartphones, laptops, audio gadgets, gaming consoles, etc. It is used to provide stereo sound and composite analog video.
Is 3.5mm Sound Quality Better Than RCA?
No, 3.5 mm quality is not better than RCA. In fact, there is no difference in the quality of sound produced by RCA cables and that which is produced by 3.5 mm cables.
3.5 mm and RCA cables are both primarily unbalanced connections. This means both cables can be susceptible to noise and interference. Hence, it is hard to rate one over the other. If both connectors are of good quality, you will be able to achieve great results with either of them without noticing any variation in the quality of sound produced.
Differences Between RCA and 3.5mm
RCA is usually used in most home audio systems. This is because the majority of these home audio equipment come with RCA ports and not 3.5mm. On the other hand, 3.5mm cables are used in most portable devices since they come with 3.5mm ports. Let’s take a look at some attributes that distinguish RCA from 3.5 mm connectors and cables.
Area
RCA
3.5mm
Type of Application
May transmit both audio and video signals.
Are purely meant for audio signals.
Number of Audio Channels
All RCA cables have two channels for transmitting stereo signals
May carry stereo or mono signal depending on the type of 3. 5mm cable,
Cable Size
RCA cables are relatively larger than 3.5mm cables
Smaller than RCA cables and are meant for portable devices.
Differences between RCA and 3.5mm
Can You Connect RCA to a 3.5mm Port?
Yes, you can connect an RCA audio source to a 3.5 mm port. You can connect an RCA cable into a 3.5 mm port using a 3.5mm male jack to a dual RCA plug audio adapter.
There are actually three different types of RCA to 3.55mm adapters available today. The first option has an RCA female and a 3.55mm male plug. You can pick one of these up on Amazon for about 5 bucks.
The next type has RCA male plugs and a 3.5mm female connector. And you can also pick these up on Amazon for about 5 bucks.
The last option has RCA male plugs on one end and a 3.5mm male plug on the other end. And this is actually the most popular option available today. And I own a couple of these myself that I use for various purposes. Pick this up on Amazon for about 7 bucks.
This adapter allows you to connect your smartphone, tablets, or portable music device to a stereo receiver, speaker, or other RCA-enabled device.
Does RCA to 3.5mm Reduce Quality of Sound?
Yes, RCA to 3.5 mm cables and adapter reduces the quality of sound. However, this reduction in sound quality is very little and cannot be easily noticed or detected. RCA to 3.5 mm connections transmit audio signals seamlessly whiles ensuring reliability and reduced signal loss.
An RCA to 3.5mm cable and adapters are very useful. They help you connect the output of your portable device like a mobile phone to your home audio system. RCA to 3.5 mm cables and adapters also enable you to connect your portable devices to all other RCA-enabled devices like projectors.
Benefits of RCA over 3.5mm
RCA connectors provide a more secure and stronger connection than 3.5mm connectors, especially when they are new. These connectors come with cables that are made with larger gauges than cables used for 3. 5mm. This makes RCA connectors stronger than 3.5 mm connectors. Also, RCA plugs grip their female ports much firmly than 3.5mm connectors do. This prevents accidental removal in the event of a trip or fall.
RCA cables are built very well. They are very flexible and can be easily handled without risk of damage. Both male and female RCA cables are very robust and have a low failure rate. They last longer than 3.5mm cables, which are known to break very often. 3.5mm cables are relatively weaker than RCA cables and can be easily worn out. This can lead to distortions in the audio or even failure of the cable.
Benefits of 3.5mm Over RCA
The advantage of 3.5mm connectors is their portability. 3.5 mm cables are very portable as compared to RCA. These 3.5mm cables are handy and can be easily carried or moved about. This is why 3.5 mm cables are commonly used in headphones and portable music players.
Also, 3.5 mm cables are compatible with most modern devices. The majority of the current everyday devices like laptops, smartphones, etc. come with 3.5 mm ports. This means, having a 3.5 mm cable at hand gives you the option of using these devices for your listening needs or for calls.
Conclusion
In summary, RCA and 3.5mm connectors are two of the most useful audio connectors available. 3.5 mm connectors are widely used in portable devices because of their size. They are commonly used for connecting to smartphones, portable music player headphones as well as for connecting MP3 players to car stereos. RCA connectors are used to connect audio and video devices like stereos to speakers or decoders to televisions.

Take your photography and videography to the next level. Digital cameras bring a new level of enjoyment to picture-taking and have a number of benefits that an ordinary film camera simply cannot match. Digital cameras are more convenient than analog cameras, and because there is no film required, operating costs are naturally lower. One of the many advantages of a digital camera over a single-lens camera is its memory. Storing thousands of images has never been easier because of extendable memory space, and with a memory card, this gives a photographer the freedom to take as many shots as they want without worrying about exceeding a limit.
Find the right camera
Capture moments and cherish memories for life. Every camera has its own special traits for documenting different moments. From capturing extreme sports to underwater adventures, or if you’re simply looking to record your travels, finding the right fit will make your documenting easier and enjoyable. With a ton of options to choose from, it’s always better to do your research before investing in exactly what you need. Digital cameras like DSLRs produce higher-quality images; with mirrorless system cameras, you can capture fast-action shots at up to 6 fps; point-and-shoot cameras are great for beginners; and action and instant cameras are exactly that: immersive and immediate.
DSLR (digital single-lens reflex) cameras take pictures without using film. With different program modes such as exposure settings, aperture priority, and shutter priority, you can control how your pictures are taken, and interchangeable lenses allow you to swap lenses to capture different types of shots. DSLR cameras have higher image quality than compact cameras due to their larger sensors and can easily take over a thousand photographs on a single battery. Step into Target for a selection of DSLR cameras like the Canon 550D, the Nikon D7500 DX-Format DSLR Camera, and much more, whether you’re a serious amateur photographer or a professional.
Mirrorless cameras come with an electronic viewfinder and interchangeable lenses just like DSLRs but are significantly lighter in weight, making them portable. Mirrorless cameras will allow you to set up the camera just how you want it with the control buttons and menus, thus giving the user the freedom to shoot in automatic, semi-automatic, or fully manual mode. Even with some affordable models, mirrorless cameras have an edge over DSLRs in terms of video quality. Target stores sell a variety of mirrorless cameras, including the Panasonic Lumix G9 Mirrorless Digital Camera with Leica DG 12-60mm f/2.8-4 Lens, the Nikon Z 6II FX-format Mirrorless Camera, and much more.
Point-and-shoot cameras
Point-and-shoot cameras or compact cameras are compact and travel-friendly. Compact cameras have a fixed lens and can shoot landscapes, birds, and portraits all at once without having to carry extra lenses and change them repeatedly. The battery life is longer in point-and-shoot cameras and lasts the whole day without any need for replacement, which makes it convenient for vlogging or on-the-go captures. Although the camera has a viewfinder, one of the features that makes the compact camera less complex is the LCD screen. Unlike the viewfinder, you can view the frame on a larger screen before shooting without having to squint. Point-and-shoot cameras come with simple controls to shoot anything without complexity or difficulty, making them perfect for beginners.
Action cameras are digital cameras that are designed for filming while immersed in action. They have a compact and waterproof surface that is perfect for capturing dynamic and fast-paced moments. You can create amazing time-lapse videos because of their small size; they can be placed anywhere and record hours of video—imagine capturing the sky from dusk until dawn. They also have Bluetooth connectivity, which can be used with compatible external remotes to take pictures or videos of yourself from a distance or if you need to place the camera at a remote location. Check out the Panasonic Lumix for unlimited video recording on all settings.
Instant Cameras
Take photos instantly with the Fujifilm Instax Instant camera. Instant cameras allows you to take pictures and create a hard copy almost immediately. With the power of automatic exposure, the camera automatically calculates the brightness of the environment you’re in, so what you see is what you get, every shot, and every time. The one-touch selfie mode, easy-to-use creative features give sharp, clear reproduction, vivid color, and natural skin tones to the picture taken.
We have you covered whether you’re an amateur or a professional photographer, a podcaster or a vlogger, a hobbyist, or if you’ve taken a sudden interest in photography. There is nothing that is best for everyone, but here at Target, we have something for everyone.

Best Earbuds for Phone Calls for 2023: Earbuds With Mic
Sure, it’s important for earbuds to fit and sound great. But one of the features a lot of people are looking for in a set of earbuds is how well they work for making voice calls and how you sound to callers. The quality and quantity of microphones and their placement are certainly key factors in voice-calling performance, but so are sophisticated algorithms that filter out background noise while still managing to focus on your voice.
Most earbuds work reasonably well for making calls, particularly indoors. But with all the earbuds we review, we’ve come across a select few that deliver better results and rise to the top of the calling class. We test earbuds in the streets of one of the busiest and loudest cities in the world: New York.
For the most part, we tend to recommend noise-isolating earbuds for phone calls because they block out sound so you can hear callers better. However, not everyone likes to have ear tips jammed in their ears, so we do have a few open earbuds on the list for those who prefer that style of earbuds.
In evaluating earbuds for making calls, we also take into account features such as sidetone, which allows you to hear your own voice in headphones and earbuds as you talk (so you don’t shout), and multipoint Bluetooth pairing, which allows you to pair your headphones or earbuds with two devices at the same time for added flexibility.
We also have a list of the best headphones for working from home, but that list includes more “work” or “business” headphones that you’re more likely to use at home with not only your phone but a computer. Some of those headphones feature a retractable boom microphone.

How we test true-wireless earbuds
We test true-wireless earbuds based on five key criteria, comparing similarly styled and priced models. These criteria are design, sound quality, features, voice-calling performance and value.
Design: We assess not only how comfortable the earbuds fit (ergonomics) but their build quality and how well the controls are implemented. We also look at water- and dust-resistance ratings.
Sound quality: We evaluate sound quality by listening to a set playlist of music tracks and comparing the earbuds to top competing products in their price range. Sonic traits such as bass definition, clarity, dynamic range and how natural the headphones sound are key factors in our assessment.
Features: Some great-sounding earbuds aren’t loaded with features, but we do take into account what extra features are on board. These include everything from noise-canceling and transparency modes (ambient sound mode) to special sound modes to ear-detection sensors that automatically pause your music when you take the headphones off your ears.
Voice-calling performance: When we test voice-calling performance, we make calls in the noisy streets of New York and evaluate how well the earbuds reduce background noise and how clearly callers can hear your voice.
Value: We determine value after evaluating the strength of the earbuds against all these criteria and what the buds are able to deliver compared to other models in their price class.

In this day and age, there’s an expectation that you can answer calls quickly and easily. Whether you’re working from home and joining a meeting, or if you’re getting a call from family on the go, you’ll want earbuds with a solid mic performance. If you’re taking calls from a noisy office or a busy street, blocking out background noise can make it easier to understand your conversation. This article mostly covers truly wireless earbuds. They don’t offer the best performance regarding calls, especially when compared to dedicated earbuds & Bluetooth headsets for phone calls, but they maximize versatility and portability.
We’ve tested over 255 pairs of earbuds and in-ear headphones with microphones, and below are our recommendations for the best earbuds for calls to buy. If you want more recommendations, check out our picks for the best earbuds with a mic. If you don’t mind an over-ear fit, you’ll also want to check out the best office headphones.

The Bose QuietComfort Earbuds II Truly Wireless are the best earbuds for phone calls we’ve tested. Their mic performance may not be the best, but they have a premium design and solid extra features for casual use. Their noise cancelling (ANC) system can cut down an outstanding amount of background noise around you, helping you focus on your call. With the ANC on, their battery lasts well over six hours continuously. Their carrying case also offers three extra charges if you need it.
Although the mic is far from your mouth, it can still clearly capture your voice. However, this distance impacts noise handling, or the ability of the mic to separate speech from background noise. As a result, your voice can be drowned out by background noise, so if you’re taking important calls, it’s best to do so from quiet places.
The buds also have a more bass-heavy sound profile out of the box than what we measured. It’s due to the shape of our test rig’s ear canals, so subjectively, you’ll hear more thump, rumble, and boom than our graph shows. This extra bass muddies vocals and instruments, but you can customize their sound via their companion app’s graphic EQ and presets. Unfortunately, they don’t support multi-device pairing, so you can’t stay connected to your PC and smartphone simultaneously.

If you want something more affordable without sacrificing features, consider the Sennheiser MOMENTUM True Wireless 3. Their integrated mic offers an okay overall performance. Although your voice lacks depth and body, you’ll have no problems being understood clearly. That said, your voice can be drowned out if you need to take calls in a noisy environment, like from a busy office. On the upside, the buds have a powerful noise cancelling system.
While they don’t outperform the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds II Truly Wireless in this regard, the ANC can still help reduce distracting sounds around you and make it easier to focus on your call. They have a decently comfortable fit. Their bass-heavy sound profile is great if you want to listen to thumpy, rumbly music in between calls, but their fairly flat mid-range ensures that speech sounds clear and present. You can fine-tune their sound to suit your needs using their companion app’s EQ and presets.
They last for over eight hours continuously, and their carrying case supplies an extra three charges, which is handy in a pinch. If you’re an iOS user, consider the Apple AirPods Pro (2nd generation) Truly Wireless. They’re more comfortable and have features like an h2 chip for seamless pairing with your iOS devices. However, their mic’s recording quality is worse, and your voice sounds thin and muffled.

The best Bluetooth earbuds for phone calls in the mid-range that we’ve tested are the Jabra Elite 7 Pro True Wireless. You can often find them for about half of their regular price. This manufacturer is well-known for their call-centric headphones, and their companion app even offers features like sidetone control and a basic call EQ. Their mic also has a very good recording quality, making your voice easy to understand. Some users have reported that their voice sounds a bit low and muffled.
The mic’s noise handling performance is sub-par, but if you want to ensure that your voice is clear throughout your call, you’ll want to ensure that your environment is quiet. That said, unlike the higher-end Sennheiser MOMENTUM True Wireless 3, they support multi-device pairing, allowing you to stay connected to your PC and smartphone simultaneously. Out of the box, they have a very neutral default sound profile, making them versatile enough for phone calls or casual use.
You can customize their sound via their companion app. If you want to keep the outside world at bay, they do a decent job of reducing ambient sound around you. They last over eight hours continuously, and their carrying case has three extra charges. Unfortunately, even though they have ANC, it doesn’t significantly improve their noise isolation ability.

Shopping on a budget? Then you’ll want to check out the TOZO NC7 Truly Wireless, the best wireless earbuds for phone calls at this price point. At the low end of the cost scale, you can expect to make performance-based sacrifices in exchange for affordability. These buds aren’t as comfortable as the Jabra Elite 7 Pro True Wireless, and their mic’s overall performance isn’t quite as good. However, their recording quality is still decent enough for calls.
Like other truly wireless picks, you’ll need to make calls from less noisy places to ensure your voice is easily understandable. They also last over eight hours continuously, which is good for long days at work. Their ANC system makes these buds stand out from other budget-friendly picks. If you want to focus on your call, they can easily reduce noise, like traffic from an open window of office chatter.
On the other hand, if you’re more concerned about staying aware of your surroundings, you might prefer a mono headset like the Jabra Talk 45 Bluetooth Headset. This headset consists of one earbud with a tiny boom mic, so you can keep one ear free when you’re on the phone. It makes your voice sound clear and does a passable job of separating it from background noise. As you might expect, its sound profile isn’t good for music, but voices are reproduced accurately. It supports multi-device pairing, and you can set it up to read out your text messages when you can’t look at your phone.

Wired earbuds are worth checking out if call quality is your top priority. While they’re more unwieldy than their truly wireless counterparts and usually lack useful features like customizability or noise cancelling, they have in-line mics rather than integrated ones. This design puts the mic closer to your mouth, making it easier for the mic to separate speech from background noise. Enter the Apple EarPods. Even though they’re a lot older and less refined than other buds on this list, they have a great recording quality. They can also separate speech from ambient noise so that you’re heard clearly.
These budget-friendly buds may not be as well-built as the TOZO NC7 Truly Wireless since their cable is pretty flimsy, but some people may find their one-size-fits-all design more comfortable than an in-ear fit. They also have a well-balanced sound that ensures voices sound clear and natural. They lack low-bass, so they may not be ideal if you want to listen to genres like EDM or hip-hop in your downtime. They also don’t block out background noise, so it can be harder to hear your conversation well if you’re calling from a noisy office.

JBL CLUB PRO+ TWS True Wireless:
The JBL CLUB PRO+ TWS True Wireless are mid-range buds with a decent noise isolation performance and a better noise handling performance than the Jabra Elite 7 Pro True Wireless. Unfortunately, they don’t support multi-device pairing and lack volume controls.
See our review
TOZO T6 Truly Wireless:
The TOZO T6 Truly Wireless are the cheaper sibling of the TOZO NC7 Truly Wireless. They’re similarly comfortable and well-built, and their mic has better noise handling. Unfortunately, they lack noise cancelling, and their overall battery performance is worse.
See our review
SteelSeries TUSQ:
The SteelSeries TUSQ are wired gaming earbuds with a detachable boom mic. While their mic offers a better overall recording quality, they’re not as comfortable or neutral-sounding as the Apple EarPods.
See our review
Turtle Beach Battle Buds:
The Turtle Beach Battle Buds are another pair of wired gaming earbuds with a boom mic. They’re much less comfortable than the Apple EarPods, but their mic offers slightly better noise-handling performance and can passively block more ambient noise.

Sony WI-1000XM2 Wireless:
The Sony WI-1000XM2 Wireless are ANC earbuds with a neckband design. While this design isn’t very popular, their mic has a much better noise handling performance than the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds II Truly Wireless. You might prefer them if you’re worried about background noise at the office interfering with phone calls. However, they don’t isolate you from as much noise as the Bose.

Our recommendations above are what we think are currently the best earbuds for calls to buy for most people. We factor in the price (cheaper headphones win over pricier ones if the difference isn’t worth it), feedback from our visitors, and availability (no headphones that are difficult to find or almost out of stock everywhere).
If you would like to choose for yourself, here is the list of all earbuds, sorted by phone call usage. Be careful not to get caught up in the details. There are no perfect headphones. Personal taste, preference, and listening habits will matter more in your selection.
5 Best Bluetooth Earphones for Calling in 2023
Headphones & Gadgets
December 29, 2022

Looking for the best bluetooth earphone for talking on the phone? You can find a microphone in just about every pair of wireless headphones, or these days – and the best ones often have multiple beamforming microphones – making it easy to switch between listening to music and making phone calls. With so many different options available on the market, how can we determine the best pair of headphones or earbuds for phone calls?
The best Bluetooth earphone for talking on the phone will help reduce background noise so people can hear your voice loud and clear during calls. They also let you hear callers well in noisy places, so we recommend noise-isolating headphones for phone calls, although we do have a few open headphones on the list for those who prefer these types of headphones.
In addition to having a quality microphone, features such as self-listening, which allows you to hear your own voice in the headphones and headphones during a call (so you don’t scream), and Bluetooth multipoint pairing, which allows you to pair headphones or in-ear headphones . with two devices at the same time are also noteworthy.

#1 Apple AirPods Pro 2
Battery Life – Rated up to 6 hours
Noise Cancellation – Yes (ANC)
Multidrop – No
Headphone type – Wireless headphones
Water proof – Yes (IPX4 splash proof)
According to Apple, the new AirPods Pro (2nd generation) are equipped with Apple’s new h3 chip, which provides more processing power and lower power consumption. The new chip, combined with new low distortion drivers, enhances the sound for greater clarity and depth. Noise cancellation is also improved – Apple says the new AirPods have “double” noise cancellation compared to the original AirPods Pro.
Voice call performance for the original AirPods Pro was very good, but now it’s even better as Apple updated the microphones and repositioned them on the headphones. In addition, AirPods Pro 2 extends battery life by one hour more, from five to six hours with noise cancellation turned on. In addition, the case now has a speaker that emits a sound that helps Find My find your headphones if they decide to hide from you. Read our Apple AirPods Pro 2.9 review0009
#2 Earfun Air S
Best bluetooth earphone for talking on the phone
Noise Cancellation – Yes (ANC)
Multidrop – Yes
Headphone type – Wireless headphones
Water proof – Yes (IPX5 – Protected against low pressure water jets)
In the past, we’ve recommended Earfun’s AirPro SV and Air Pro 2 as great budget noise canceling headphones (they’re still value for money). But the Earfun Air S, released in 2022, may be the best of the trio, with Bluetooth multipoint pairing and Qualcomm’s latest QCC3046 chip with aptX audio codec for Android and other devices that support it. They have the same 10mm wool drivers as the AirPro SV and have surprisingly impressive sound for their modest price. They also work well as a headset for making calls with decent noise cancellation.
The headphones have an IPX5 waterproof rating, which means they are splash-proof and can withstand extended splashes of water.
#3 Sony WH-1000XM5
Battery life – Rated up to 32 hours
Noise Cancellation – Yes (ANC)
Multidrop – Yes
Headphone type – Full size wireless headphones
Water resistant – Not rated IP
When you have a product that many people like, change can be risky. Such is the case with the Sony WH-1000XM5 headphones, the fifth generation of the 1000X series headphones that were first released in 2016 as the MDR-1000X Wireless and are becoming more popular as they improve with each generation.
Sony has made some design adjustments over the years, but nothing as drastic as what has been done with the WH-1000XM5. Aside from the $400 higher price ($50 more than the WH-1000XM4), most of these changes are good, and Sony has made some significant improvements to voice call performance, as well as even better noise cancellation and clearer audio. Read our Sony WH-1000XM5 review.
#4 Best bluetooth earphone for talking on the phone – JBL Live Pro 2
Battery life rating up to 10 hours
Squelch — Yes (adaptive)
Multidrop – Yes
Headphone type – Wireless headphones
Water proof – Yes (IPX5 – Protected against low pressure water jets)
JBL has come out with some decent true wireless headphones over the years, but nothing that really got me excited. That has finally changed with the introduction of the new Live Pro 2 and Live Free 2 headphones, owned by Samsung. Both sets of headphones – the Live Pro 2 has legs and the Live Free 2 has a pill-shaped design – provide a comfortable fit, as well as strong noise cancellation, very good sound quality and voice call performance, and a solid set of headphones. features, including Bluetooth multipoint pairing, IPX5 splash-proof rating, and wireless charging.
Live Pro 2 and Live Free 2 share the same 11mm drivers, six microphones, oval tubes and oval silicone tips. Design aside, the biggest difference between the two earbuds is battery life; Live Free 2 without the rod is rated for up to seven hours, while Live Pro 2 is rated for 10 hours. Live Pro 2 is available in four color options. Read our first take of JBL Live Pro 2.

Top 15 Best Bluetooth Headsets for Calling
The ranking of the best bluetooth headsets for phone includes fully wireless TWS headphones and the best bluetooth headsets in one ear for talking on the phone.
TOP wireless headsets for phones in 2023, consists mainly of TWS headphones, for two simple reasons: they can be used separately for calls (quality microphones), and if you wear both, you can listen to music (quality sound). By the way, the best bluetooth headset for the driver, in 2023, these are also TWS headphones .
As for wired telephone headsets, I would advise you to pass by. High-quality wireless TWS headphones are also great for talking on the phone with an overpayment of 20-30% compared to wired ones. But you get a disproportionate plus to the ease of use of the headset. With the same quality of ear transmission.
💎 Useful related articles:
The best bluetooth headset should not only have a high-quality microphone, but also be light and comfortable so that you can not shoot for several hours, or better, all day. The same applies to the best bluetooth headset for the driver. In our rating of headsets for the phone, the models that are optimal in terms of combination of price and the required qualities are collected. From very budget, to expensive ones with good sound for music and additional features.
⚖️ Which wireless bluetooth headset to choose for your phone?
What bluetooth headset to buy for the phone? What to look for
In 2023, the choice of wireless headsets for telephone calls is significantly reduced (we are talking about mono headsets, in one ear) . Not the last role in this is the growth of the market for the best wireless TWS headphones for talking. After all, they combine the complete absence of wires, and the ability to listen to music (in both ears in more or less normal quality 😉) and headset functions. Many true wireless models are smaller than the average mono headset. These headphones can be used alone. Many models have only a master earpiece, some have any.
Given the feedback on bluetooth headsets, a person purchases a wireless headset specifically for comfortable communication without wires . Therefore, simply wireless headphones (which have a cable between the cases) have not replaced mono headsets. But there are True Wireless headphones, completely wireless and without a cable in any of its manifestations.
Of course, the quality of the microphone in fully wireless headphones is often worse than in specialized devices. But for comfortable communication in more or less quiet conditions, it is quite enough. The price range is now quite wide, you can also find budget headphones (no more expensive than average headsets).
Which is better, bluetooth headset or wireless headphones? If you take TWS headphones, then in 2023 there is very little point left in buying mono headsets. Yes, the microphone of most TWS models is worse, but not by an order of magnitude, let’s say so. Yes, and rarely have to speak quite perishing in a noisy environment. Therefore, fully wireless headphones are preferable. In them, at least, you can also listen to music. 😉
If we talk about prices, our rating includes headsets for phones from $15 to $330. Of course, purely for communication, it makes no sense to watch models more expensive than $100. In this price range, it’s easy to find TWS headphones with a good microphone and decent sound for background music. Or a mono headset with a great microphone. However, if you want a more versatile device: headphones with really high-quality sound and / or additional features (like noise cancellation), then you will have to choose among models that cost more than $100.
Wired or wireless headset with microphone for telephone?
The wired headset has one very significant advantage: it provides good voice quality, but it can be quite inexpensive. After all, what is a wired headset for a phone? Ordinary headphones with a microphone.
But, of course, wired analogues cannot provide such comfort as Bluetooth headsets (mono or stereo): wires are a limitation, whatever one may say. Therefore, the conclusion suggests itself: if you do not talk on the phone very much, but you want to save money, then a wired headset is your option. In other cases, “wireless” is better.
Which headset to choose – what to look for
If you decide to use wired headphones as a headset for calls, then the most important thing is the price (cheaper, preferably) and the location of the microphone. It is important that the unit with the remote control and microphone is not too far from the face, which sometimes happens. This, one might say, is the main characteristic of a bluetooth headset.
The same is worth paying attention to when choosing wireless headphones. Which are not True Wireless. 😉
But if you are looking at a Bluetooth mono headset or completely wireless headphones , then you should pay attention to autonomy, the Bluetooth version (the higher, the more optimal power consumption, the rest is not so important for conversations), control capabilities (it would be nice so that there is at least a volume control) and the size of the capsule (there are very large headsets that look strange).
No matter the form factor, it’s important that a headset is comfortable for calls. It is good if it can be left in the ear for several hours without discomfort. But trying on an ear headset in a store most often will not work.
The best bluetooth headset for driving and for everyday conversations – what’s the difference?
🚗 The best bluetooth driver headset
How is a driver bluetooth headset different from a regular conversational headset? A couple of nuances. It is important to always be careful while driving. Accordingly, headphones in both ears – immediately past the cash register. Yes, there are amateurs, but it looks dangerous and careless. Better not even use a single vacuum form factor earbud.
It is most logical for the driver to purchase a bluetooth headset in the format of earbuds (open) or in-ear TWS headphones with transparency mode . The first option does not block ambient sounds at all. And the second – with the help of technology (microphones) “mixes” the environment into the earpiece: to music or conversation.
Thus, when reading reviews about bluetooth headsets, drivers should first of all pay attention to the features described above, and then to everything else. After all, on the road, it is worth relaxing your attention for a minute, and anything can happen.

Are LED Lights Good for Photography?
There are pros and cons to working with LED lights in photography. While LED lights are a common alternative to larger softboxes, umbrellas, and strobe lights, they aren’t always the best choice in every situation.
For instance, being portable and attached to your camera, LED lights usually need to run off batteries, and their battery life is limited, depending on which power setting you use.
However, there are plenty of benefits of using an LED camera light, whether on or off camera.
When working in enclosed spaces, an LED light is preferable to other lights, especially in warmer climates. The LED lights don’t put off as much heat as other types of lights, so you can stay cooler in the studio.
Many photographers prefer an LED light over studio lights due to the close resemblance to natural light. At the same time, LED lights also come in a variety of colors.
It’s typically much cheaper to invest in an LED light panel, though you will have to deal with some cords. On the other hand, the brightness level of an LED light can affect certain subjects on the set.
Photographers should note that LED lights feature lower power outputs, which limit what shutter speed you can use. This is especially true for moving subjects.
Which LED light is best for photography?
The best LED light for photography is the one that fits the profile the best. For example, you may need an LED light panel with long battery life for your shoot.
Other times, you may choose a specific color temperature over battery life. Color temperatures can make a huge difference in some cases, especially at the extreme ends of the spectrum – trying to recreate a cold, wintery look, for example.
LED panels with adjustable color temperature help you adapt to your surroundings and set the mood. They can also highlight specific features of your photograph without having to use editing software.
If you’re looking for more flattering light, you may want to go with lights from a softer source instead. The power consumption on these won’t be as much as brighter LED lights, so that can help keep your battery life high.
There are also different types of LED lights to choose from. These include LED light panels, LED lights on stands, on-camera lights, and portable lighting.
At the same time, you can choose from the many products we’ve listed above to find the best LED light. Popular options include the Aputure Amaran Mini On Camera Video Light, the Viltrox L116T Video Light Panel, and the Litepanels Astra Bi-Color LED Light Panel.
Additional products include the SmallRig Pix M160 LED On-Camera Video Light, the GVM Phone LED Ring Light, and the Neewer RGB Video Light. No matter which LED light or LED light panel you choose, you’re sure to find one that fits your needs.
You can also use LED light strips in photo light boxes – the best ones have them built in already.,
Do LED lights interfere with photography?
LED lights can definitely interfere with your photography.
Although color temperature is usually adjustable on an on-camera light, there may still be slight variations, especially during prolonged usage. This would mean you’d need to alter the white balance in post-production to get the exact look you’re going for.
In addition to color temperature, LED lights also flicker at an increased rate compared to most on-camera lights. The camera’s shutter speed and frame rate, when out of sync with the LED lights, can actually record horizontal black lines.
A professional photographer will combat LED light issues by shooting in manual mode with a custom white balance. This ensures any on-camera lights don’t interfere with the camera’s exposure.
Best Camera Lights | Final Words
Continuous camera lights offer a convenient ‘what you see is what you get’ solution to photography lighting.
While flashes and strobes usually require some experience (not to mention plenty of test shots) to find the right exposure, an LED light is usually simple to operate, with the results immediately visible.
If you’re shooting video, on-camera lights are a no-brainer. For stills photography, you’ll need to pick and choose the situation – sometimes they’re useful, while others they can be a hindrance.
We hope you’ve found our guide useful in your search for the best LED light panel for your next photo shoot.

Low Light Photography Tips
Low Light Photography Tips – Canon Ireland
LIGHTING TECHNIQUES
Learn how to get the most out of your Canon camera and how to capture stunning photos from dusk to dawn.
Dusk and dawn are magical times. At these moments, the holiday comes, the city changes the mood, offering endless opportunities for photography. But capturing all the details in low light is not easy, especially if you use a smartphone camera.
In low light, use the creative shooting modes of a DSLR, mirrorless camera, or advanced compact camera to capture sharpness and detail that would otherwise take much more effort.
1. Use a wide aperture (small f-number) to take in all available light
Faster lenses allow more light to enter the image sensor, allowing you to shoot at faster shutter speeds while maintaining detail and without having to increase ISO, which is may cause digital noise to appear in the photograph. Taken on camera
If you have a manual camera, you can control its aperture in Aperture Priority (Av) mode. Aperture allows you to adjust the amount of light that will enter the camera. In low-light conditions, you need to illuminate the subject as much as possible to get a good exposure and capture the details in the frame. To do this, use a wide aperture (small f-number). If the picture is still too dark (underexposure), using a slower shutter speed will also let in more light, but risk blurring the frame—see the section below for tips to help you capture sharp images.
However, the aperture setting affects more than just exposure. A wide aperture also results in a shallow depth of field, meaning that at small f-numbers, only a narrow portion of the scene will be in focus. This might be ideal for you if you shoot portraits in the wee hours and want to create an interesting blurred background, but if you want to capture the nuances of a cityscape at dusk, using a smaller aperture (larger f-number) will provide more depth of field, resulting in bringing most of the scene into focus. To get a good exposure, you need to use a slower shutter speed.
Naturally, some lenses have a wider aperture than others and are called fast lenses. Among the excellent compact solutions for full-frame EOS R system mirrorless cameras such as the Canon EOS R6 and EOS RP, the Canon RF 35mm F1.8 MACRO IS STM lens is a great option for wide-angle shooting of city night views and other low-light scenes. The Canon RF 50mm F1.8 STM offers a more standard perspective (similar to what the human eye sees) and is ideal for spontaneous street photography at night, while the longer focal length Canon RF 85mm F2 MACRO IS STM is a great choice for portraiture in low light.
If you’re working with a DSLR, the Canon EF 35mm f/2 IS USM lens helps you achieve natural perspective and effective handheld shooting with Image Stabilizer. The even faster aperture of the Canon EF 35mm f/1.4L II USM is exceptionally good in low light conditions. If you’re using a DSLR with an APS-C sensor, such as the Canon EOS 850D, an EF-S lens such as the Canon EF-S 35mm f/2. 8 Macro IS STM is a great choice for shooting with a natural perspective. If you’re looking for a natural but wider-angle perspective with an EOS M mirrorless camera like the EOS M50 Mark II, which also features an APS-C image sensor, check out the Canon EF-M 22mm f/2 STM pancake lens and fast lens Canon EF-M 32mm f/1.4 STM.
2. Increase the ISO value to increase the sensitivity to light
If you have set a wide aperture but your pictures still lack brightness, try increasing the ISO value. This increases the sensor’s sensitivity to light, which is useful when shooting at night without a flash. The higher the ISO value, the higher the sensitivity. Canon’s DSLR, mirrorless, and advanced compact cameras have larger image sensors, so they can shoot better images at higher ISOs than smaller-sensor cameras such as smartphones.
Full-frame CMOS image sensors in Canon mirrorless cameras such as the Canon EOS RP and EOS R6 produce exceptionally high quality images with little noise or graininess. The APS-C image sensors in Canon’s latest cameras are slightly smaller, but still deliver detailed, low-noise images even at very high ISOs, making them ideal for handheld shooting at night.
3. Take clear pictures
When shooting handheld in low light conditions, the image may be blurred. This usually happens when shooting with a camera with a slow shutter speed to capture light (shutter speed). Another benefit of using a wider aperture is that the more light that enters the lens, the faster the shutter speed can be used. This is important because the faster the shutter speed, the more dramatic movement you can capture without blurring. In good light, relatively still subjects can usually be shot at about 1/50th of a second, walking people require a slightly faster shutter speed of about 1/250th of a second, and even faster subjects should be photographed at 1/1000th of a second. or shorter. In low light conditions, a faster shutter speed is required.
In addition to subject movement, camera shake must be taken into account, and the longer the focal length, the more difficult it is to avoid camera shake when shooting handheld. The rule of thumb is to start with the reciprocal of the focal length, so when using a 50mm lens, use a shutter speed of at least 1/50th of a second. or shorter; when using a 600mm lens, use 1/600 sec. etc. Using an OIS lens allows you to use slower shutter speeds and still achieve the same level of clarity.
The Canon EOS R6 is equipped with Image Stabilization System (IBIS), which works in conjunction with Lens Stabilizer to produce ultra-clear handheld long exposure shots. You can also use the environment to reduce camera shake by leaning against a wall or placing the camera on a static surface. If you have a tripod, use it as it will give you the most freedom of action.
Auto white balance on Canon cameras delivers consistently accurate results when shooting in daylight, as well as decent results when shooting in low light. However, in low light, you can apply atmospheric visual effects to images using alternative white balance presets.
For example, when shooting cityscapes at dusk, the Incandescent white balance setting generally gives areas of the frame with artificial lighting a more neutral color temperature and deepens blue skies. If you want to bring out the warm undertone of artificial lighting, try switching to the Daylight white balance setting.
Many Canon cameras, including compact cameras such as the Canon PowerShot G5 X Mark II, support RAW shooting. Select this option to change or adjust the white balance when processing images in your preferred RAW image processing program, such as Canon’s powerful freeware Digital Photo Professional.
5. Light Effects
Mounting the camera on a tripod allows you to use slower shutter speeds and get enough light while maintaining excellent image quality. Of course, you will need help from the person being filmed, who will have to pose in a more static position, with minimal movement. Taken on a Canon EOS 850D with a Canon EF 50mm f/1.2L USM lens at 1/160 sec, f/2.8 and ISO100.
You can always make night photos more dynamic by creating light streaks , the basis of which will be the rear lights of cars or the lights of fair carousels. If you want to capture the movement of light in a photo, you will need a slow shutter speed of at least a few seconds, as well as mounting the camera on a tripod or stable surface. Experiment with different shutter speeds. Use the camera’s self-timer or remote shooting to avoid camera shake when you press the shutter button. Many Canon cameras are equipped with Wi-Fi, allowing you to change settings and control the shutter from your smartphone using the Canon Camera Connect app.
6. Try burst mode
Burst (or continuous) shooting is ideal for capturing action scenes in low light, ensuring you always capture the perfect moment. Taken on a Canon EOS 7D Mark II with a Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM lens at 35mm, 1/1600 sec, f/8 and ISO3200. snapshots in a row at intervals of a fraction of a second. This is a useful feature for moving objects or very fast actions. If your camera has this feature, turn it on so you have a better chance of capturing action scenes in low light effectively.

Everyone’s got to start somewhere. When getting new products, especially for the first time, most of us fail to do the proper research, and with good reason: we don’t have enough of a background to understand the product or service we’re researching. So it’s best to stick with bigger brands with safety options, like long warranty’s and the chance to return it for next to any reason. That’s partly why Costco is so popular. Not everyone is going to love the TCL 32S3800 – Editor’s Choice/Best Smart TV Interface when they can go with Panasonic after all. If you want to save while shopping for a TV, read our post on the best TV prices.
With TVs though, trusting big brand names like Samsung or Sony often comes with a steep price. Television sets can range from overpriced to what were you thinking in no time. There is no better way to make your wife into a zealous rage than by attempting to explain how a 42” TV could possibly cost $2,000, when you’re supposed to be saving up with a baby on the way. I mean, really. Think of the children!
Perhaps with the Sceptre E420BV-F120 42” LED-HDTV, picking a big brand name isn’t the best bet. However, if you wish to compare this to a big brand name, read our Sony X720E review.
Related: For those who prefer Samsung TVs, read the Samsung Un65js8500 TV review
The E420BV-F120 42” LED-HDTV – or F120 for short, because who in the hell came up with such an atrocious name – is a 42” 1080p LED-backlit display. It’s not the fanciest or the biggest set you can find, but it has plenty of inputs. Because the one thing you don’t want to be left without is the proper input options for whatever you use around the media center. As for understanding CRT TV, there’s a lot to consider. It’s an older technology that was used in televisions before the advent of LCD and LED models. So, definitely avoid CRTs if you’re looking for something that’s more modern.
The F120 has one of everything – cable/antenna, component, composite, S-video, VGA + audio, and even a USB, all on top of 5 HDMI inputs. This means you can hook up to 11 video sources into this TV at once, which is fabulous. It was for me during my testing, in which I had all of the following connected simultaneously: Playstation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, Apple TV, Logitech Revue, an OnLive microconsole, a desktop computer, a capture card, and occasionally my laptop. Every bit of hardware I had spewed across my media center had its place.
Related: Have a look at the Sceptre 46 Inch E46hbv Fhdd 3D LED HDTV
Add on top of that a standard Auxiliary, RCA and SPDIF audio outputs, and any stereo headsets you have can keep that pleasure watching on the down low, so you don’t wake up the baby. Unfortunately the SPDIF is coaxial, which will send an analog surround signal to some surround speakers systems. A digital fiber cable would have been an infinitely better option. Lacking a digital audio-out is a real shame, especially with the tinny soundbar, which barely kept me on the edge of my seat when watching The Dark Knight or Inception, or playing Crysis 2. Even with my sophisticated sound system being forced to have dozens of wires just for audio, especially when HDMI is so prevalent, is beyond a nuisance.
Of course, if sound and video quality are the most important thing for you when it comes to a new television set, then the F120 may not be for you. Audio quality is lacking and, as mentioned, there’s no fiber out. Video quality is decent, but not great. After calibrating (and yes, you’d better take some time to calibrate this set before having a housewarming for the new TV), you’ll immediately notice light bleed from the backlight, pixilation in DVD playback and most upscaled video, and otherwise blue blacks. SD quality video isn’t a big deal if you have an HD cable box and generally stream in HD, but if you still haven’t made the move then this set is definitely not for you. For 720p and 1080p video, images are clear and sharp, though colors are dim and the dark blacks are uncomfortable.
A note on light bleed. Light bleed, as you can see in the image above, is when the backlight shines through the edges of the screen. This makes images too bright, which is especially harmful to darker images on the screen. Picture a film with plenty of low-light scenes, and imagine them brightened around the corners because of the TV. The F120 does exactly that, and as you can see in the light bleed pattern above, this is more than an annoyance. It’s a severe headache. It is hard to see the backlight bleeding through on brighter video and games, and the more color used also tends to help (black and white video suffers, for example), so if you play a lot of video games, the light bleed isn’t going to be a big deal. For movie and TV viewers, it is more prevalent, but once again depends on the content.
But let’s take a step back and get back to the baby. You’d really better be careful with the F120. Even with the circular base the TV doesn’t sit in place very well, especially with all of those cables you have plugged in on the bottom or left side of the TV. It wobbles back and forth, and I wasn’t too comfortable with how easy the display is to move. Wall mounted, the F120 is fine…otherwise, be wary of junior doing this.
As a new TV, especially a first TV for a high-tech house with plenty of HD devices, the Sceptre E420BV-F120 42” LED-HDTV is a good set to have. It’s got enough ports for almost anything, excluding outputting digital surround audio. For HD content, video quality is decent and certainly good enough for a starter TV or as a step-up from an SD set. But if you’re looking to replace your current HDTV, still watch a lot of SD content, don’t necessarily want to wall mount (and have a safety issue) and want a good soundbar, then the F120 is one TV you should pass on. However, I have no doubt new buyers will be happy with the F120 even with its light bleed and average video quality because of its simplicity, many available ports, ease of use, and low price.
The Sceptre E420BV-F120 42” LED HDTV is available for purchase from Amazon for $699.99.

20 Best Movies To Watch On A 4K TV
What are the best 4K movies to show off that new 4K monitor or smart TV? In the age of high-definition streaming and 4K Blu Rays, there’s no shortage of classic movies, art films, and blockbusters for cinephiles to enjoy at home. Today, this is the closest to a cinematic theater experience for those who’d rather view movies from the comfort of home.
The best 4K movies aren’t just visual stunners or action-filled hard hitters. Whether through cinematography, choreography, character development, production, scoring, or plot, they are also some of the best movies in their respective genres. Viewed with 4K resolution, these films take on a whole new life. Here are the best 4K movies available to audiences today.
20 The Shining (1980)
The advent of 4K is a boon for extremely detail-oriented movies, such as Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining, and this 4K remaster in a new 1.78:1 ratio shows it off in all its iconic glory. For the work of a filmmaker famed for their hyper-specificity when it came to the look of their movies, a fitting level of perfection goes into keeping the vivid colors of the wild story alive while making the Overlook Hotel itself seem so real. It also presents the opportunity to fully see the extent of the stunning detail captured by the original 35mm photography by taking the picture settings out of movie mode, though this may seem blasphemous for some cinephiles.
19 Black Hawk Down (2001)
The modern war movie, Black Hawk Down, is undoubtedly one of the best 4K movies. The movie was shot in 35mm and given a 4K remaster through a digital intermediate, and the results couldn’t have been more stunning. Clarity and detail have obviously received a substantial boost, which includes noticeably gritty film grain and horrifically realized gore. The HDR also helps the movie pop, whether it be the sandy browns, lush blues of the water, or deep red of the blood.
18 Blade Runner 2049 (2017)
Any movie shot by Roger Deakins is bound to be beautiful, and Blade Runner 2049 is certainly no exception. The movie was shot on digital, so there’s no “warm” film grain that movie enthusiasts adore. However, this takes nothing away from one of the best 4K movies in the sci-fi category. Blade Runner 2049 was shot at 3.4K and mastered at 4K, and the clarity needs to be seen to be believed. Faces and environmental artifacts are stunningly clear and detailed, and the HDR is simply extraordinary. Blade Runner 2049 is one of the most colorful movies of the 2010s, and its apocalyptic, futuristic setting pops off the screen in this version.

17 Spider-Man: Into The Spiderverse (2018)
Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse ranks highly among the best 4K movies for those who want to show off their new monitor’s capabilities. Even for those who aren’t hardcore fans of the superhero genre, this movie is a must-own for anyone who appreciates next-gen animation. Textures show a noticeable improvement over the standard Blu-ray, and the movie’s unique animation style looks even better in 4K HDR owing to the sharper lines and greater contrast. The Spider-Man suit receives a small boost in color pop, and the psychedelic climactic sequence proves unbelievable in HDR. Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse makes a strong case for why many of the greatest animated movies need 4K versions.
16 The Lord Of The Rings Trilogy (2001–2003)
The Lord of the Rings movie trilogy was a landmark moment in blockbuster cinema that redefined what most believed to be possible in the fantasy genre. Another testament to the depth of detail that can be captured by relatively humble 35mm photography, The Lord of the Rings trilogyin 4K not only makes the twenty-year-old movies look as fresh as their digitally shot prequels from the 2010s but unlocks a whole new level of detail for viewers to discover in the meticulously designed costumes and sets. These are undoubtedly some of the best 4K movies, and there’s no better way to experience Middle-earth during the Second Age.
15 The Revenant (2015)
Any list of the best 4K movies would be remiss without the first movie that finally allowed actor Leonardo DiCaprio to win an Oscar for Best Actor. The Revenant was released on 4K in April 2016, making it one of the first adopters of the new home video format. The movie was shot using ALEXA XT, ALEXA M, and ALEXA 65 cameras, resulting in a truly spectacular image. The detail is stunning, especially in the movie’s more grotesque sequences, and the HDR contrast and color grading are simply phenomenal.
14 Godzilla: King Of The Monsters (2019)
Undeniably stunning in HDR, Godzilla: King of Monsters is another testament to the epic detail that can be produced by utilizing the ALEXA 65. King of the Monsters is one of the best 4K movies as the 4K version is substantially different from the standard HD release, even being classifiable as an entirely different experience. The detail of everything, from wallpaper to hair and makeup, seems so much more real in 4K, not to mention what it does to the actual monsters of the movie. HDR adds a surprisingly needed degree of shadow whilst not taking anything away from the bright primary colors that make up the movie’s overall aesthetic.
13 The Martian (2015)
It seems as if 2015 was the year of movies proving their worth in 4K. Along with The Revenant, Ridley Scott’s The Martian was released to widespread critical acclaim and jaw-dropping intensity on 4K. The terrain of Mars is richly detailed, allowing each grain of sand to remain focused with incredible clarity. The Martian red and orange also pops thanks to HDR. Facial features, environmental props and sets, and Matt Damon’s spacesuit all look spectacular in one of the best 4K movies. The Martian is a definite technical showpiece, both in terms of visual effects and 4K home viewing.

12 Mission: Impossible – Fallout (2018)
The death-defying stunt work that went into Mission: Impossible – Fallout is made all the more impressive by its capturing in 35mm photography, scanned into 4K for an immersive action movie experience that’s best appreciated in Dolby Vision HDR. As is the case with many of the best 4K movies, the harsh brightness of certain scenes in the HD version is greatly softened in the 4K release, and it allows sequences, particularly near the beginning of the movie, to look much more natural. With the locations and stunts being of such a dedicatedly high quality across the board, it would really be a shame to see Fallout any other way.
Joker was one of 2019’s most popular movies, and it received a stellar 4K release. Joker was filmed in 5.8K through ARRIRAW and downscaled to 4K through a digital intermediate for mastering. The clarity is outstanding, allowing every single detail to stand clear and pronounced, including props, facial features, and clothing. The Dolby Vision also helps color pop amid the intentionally dreary physical design of the film, including Arthur’s red suit, green hair, and clown makeup. Because of how its cinematography expertly conveys the movie’s overarching themes, Joker is definitely among the best 4K movies.
10 Logan (2017)
Many superhero films look great in 4K, but few look as great as Logan. Logan was filmed on a variety of cameras for different effects, including ARRI Alexa XT Plus’ with some visual effects shot being shot in 4K. The detail is obviously sharp throughout, and the picture is both incredibly clear and pristine. The movie also receives a visual boost thanks to the HDR, which provides a more nuanced color palette. The climactic sequence in the woods looks particularly gorgeous, especially in the contrast between the green trees and blue skies.
9 Dunkirk (2017)
Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk was filmed on gorgeous 65mm, and the results are simply mind-blowing. It’s also not surprising that one of the best 4K movies was made by a literal fanatic of film like Nolan. In fact, Nolan personally oversaw the mastering of this release. Home viewers would be hard-pressed to find a movie as clear and detailed as this, thanks in large part to the source 65mm film. It’s breathtaking, and it’s a definite must-own for anyone wishing to show off their new 4K TV.
8 Everything Everywhere All At Once (2022)
Apart from how it won seven Academy Awards, Everything Everywhere All At Once is one of the best 4K movies for showing off the capabilities of the ARRI ALEXA Mini and the ARRI ZEISS Master Prime. Famous for being made at a low budget compared to most other Oscar-hogging films, the Daniels reportedly also used the first consumer-grade probe lens, the Venus Optics Laowa Probe. Everything came together to showcase the masterful choreography, graphics, costumes, and set design of this one-of-a-kind deep dive into the multiverse.

7 Black Panther (2018)
Not only did Black Panther win three of Marvel Studios’ first-ever Oscar Awards, but it’s also among the best 4K movies for its detailed and vibrant Afro-futuristic vision of Wakanda. The Sony Alta Venice is paired with the Panavision T-Series and Ultra Panatar to produce some of the most visually stunning scenes in all of the MCU. From the costumes and set design to the compelling drama and action, Black Panther is definitely one of the best films to showcase what’s possible with 4K.
6 Roma (2018)
Alfonso Cuarón’s use of the 65mm digital format Alexa 65 and ARRI Prime 65 focal lengths lenses makes a strong case for the marriage of large-format film and 4K cinema. Indeed, bagging the Oscar Awards for Best Foreign Language Film, Best Director, and Best Cinematographer, Roma is not only one of the best 4K movies but arguably the masterwork of the director-cameraman’s career. It’s a rare black-and-white art film that has the potential to impress all types of audiences, the perfect balance of epic and intimate storytelling.
5 Avatar: The Way Of Water (2022)
Very few of the best 4K movies lists do not mention James Cameron’s follow-up to the highest-grossing movie of all time. Avatar: The Way of Water was shot with various cameras in order to achieve its breathtaking scenes, including the submersible DeepX 3D which cinematographer Pawel Achtel used to devise a camera system for the underwater shots. Combined with the Nikonos lenses designed specifically for underwater photography, the Sony Venice was used to capture most of Avatar: The Way of Water. 4K undoubtedly shines a different, decidedly more pristine light on the planet of Pandora.
4 Dune (2021)
Denis Villenueve’s Dune is one of the best 4K movies for the unique way in which it was captured. Dune cinematographer Greig Fraser shot for the IMAX format with an ARRI ALEXA LF and a prototype Mini LF with Panavision large-format lenses. It was then transferred to 35mm film, and then digitally scanned for the final cut. It was a time-consuming process, “But it gave us the feeling we had been picturing a certain texture that’s painterly but feels timeless,” explained Fraser (via No Film School). “The film has softened the edges of the digital. It gave us something that film acquisition couldn’t give us, and it gave us something that digital acquisition couldn’t give us.”
3 Aliens (1986)
Aliens is among the best 4K movies for how it showcases how well traditional filmmaking equipment translates to 4K. Shot entirely with Panavision cameras and lenses with 35mm film, James Cameron’s classic sci-fi horror is a masterclass in shooting in difficult lighting conditions and cramped spaces. In 4K resolution, the classic Xenomorphs are even more terrifying than they were in the ’80s.
2 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968)
The handheld Panavision 65mm camera from 1960 that Stanley Kubrick used to film 2001: A Space Odyssey is currently held at the Science and Technology Study Collection of the Academy of Motion Picture Sciences. Kubrick also used a Fairchild-Curtis custom fisheye to capture the wide-angle shots. This doesn’t even begin to scratch the surface of why this Kubrick film is considered to be one of the greatest movies of any era in cinema, let alone one of the best 4K movies available today. No words can do justice to how beautiful 2001: A Space Odyssey is in 4K – just go see it.
1 Speed Racer (2008)
It may not be as famous as many other anime adaptations, but the live-action adaptation of Speed Racer is nonetheless is deserving of a place alongside the best 4K movies. The Wachowski sisters achieved the unique action of Speed Racer by using Phantom and Sony cameras and Zeiss lenses, which allowed them to perform a revolutionary shooting technique. Indeed, many of Speed Racer‘s scenes were shot with layered film, which allowed for both objects in the front and back of the camera to be in full focus – like a real cartoon. It’s a visual feat that is best experienced in glorious 4k.
Bloodhound-4: who’s who in the series
News
Several years have passed since the last meeting with viewers on the plot of the series. In the new season, criminal investigator Alexandra Kushnir, whose role is played by actress Anna Banshchikova, will have to learn to be not only a good employee, but also a mother.
April 2, 2020 10:00018 775
Anna Banshchikova
The plot will contain everything that is supposed to be in a detective TV movie – investigations, chases, investigative experiments, exposures and unexpected discoveries. However, the entire “detective set” will become a bright, but still the background of human relationships and tragedies. The main hope in this difficult world, as before, will be she – “Snoop” Alexandra Kushnir. But what do we know about the other characters?
ALEKSANDRA KUSHNIR — ANNA BANSHCHIKOVA
Brilliant investigator, lieutenant colonel, head of the criminal investigation department. Clever, subtle psychologist, workaholic. In work, he often provokes, pretends, plays imaginary roles. In the new season – mother and wife.
MISHUTKA
Alexandra’s son. Misha is two years old. Exactly so much Kushnir was able to hold out on maternity leave without her favorite job. It is noteworthy that the daughter of Anna Banshchikova, Masha, played the investigator’s heir.
BORIS NENASHEV – ALEXANDER MAKOGONN
Alexander Makogon
Husband Kushnir, FSB major. In love with Alexandra since school. Having married and adopted the son of Alexandra, Boris in the new season is an absolute reliability.
ALEXANDER ABASHEV — EDUARD CHEKMAZOV
Eduard Chekmazov (left)
A criminal investigation officer, in the new season he is a real family man who loves his wife and daughter without limit. A special place is occupied by his relationship with his daughter. Seeing how Alexander treats his son, he tries to change like a father, feels his responsibility to the family in a new way.
OLEG ZHIRKOV – ANATOLY GUSCHIN
Anatoly Gushchin
Criminal Investigation Officer. In the new season, he falls in love, and this love changes him. He begins to read books, although he falls asleep over them, embarrassed by his uncouthness. But the subtle nature of his beloved inspires him, and although he cannot change completely, Oleg becomes more attentive to other people.
MARAT KHAIDAROV – DENIS BURGAZLIEV
Denis Burgazliev
Forensic expert of the department. Clever, speaks little and always to the point, at work he is valued and respected by everyone without exception. He loves motorcycles, listens to rock, in the past a biker named Genghis Khan.
At the end of the third season, he quit his job to go to Moscow for his beloved, but returned at the beginning of the new season.
VALENTIN SHIROKOV — VLADISLAV PAVLOV
Vladislav Pavlov
Lieutenant, ambitious romantic. I am sure that his place is not in a modest detective department, but, at least, in some special division of the FSB. Valentin, according to an established tradition, takes Alexandra to work and back. He is afraid of corpses, in the department he is sometimes laughed at as the most inexperienced.
IGOR BIRYUKOV – VLADIMIR NIKOLENKO
Vladimir Nikolenko
Major, senior detective, “eternal pensioner”. For fifteen years he has been threatening to retire and start a subsistence economy. Biryukov is married to a woman much younger than him, so that he is almost the same age as his mother-in-law. In the new season, she thinks about her future in retirement and about opening a private detective agency.
EDUARD BELENKY — ANATOLY KOT
Anatoly Kot
Colonel, deputy chief of police for operational work, transferred from Moscow. Belenky is a snob, dresses fashionably, eats only healthy food, tries to introduce progress and “European” practices into the department, which are completely alien to the operatives and Alexandra with her methods. He cares only about the disclosure rates and about his own career, hoping to soon leave the “upstairs” department.
ELENA MELESHKO — ANASTASIA GREAT
Anastasia Velikorodnaya
Department psychologist. In her work, she uses methods similar to those of Alexandra: pretending, provoking, lying – all in order to learn more about a person or push him to certain actions.
In the new season, Lena, as an experienced mother, constantly helps Alexandra with advice and deeds.
SOFIA GOLOVINA — SERAFIMA NIZOVSKAYA
Serafima Nizovskaya
Director of the library and part-time librarian, “darling” Zhirkova. She is a real provincial intellectual. Zhirkov accepts courtship, attributing to him romantic features, albeit somewhat rude ones.
