MacBook deals have never been better. Although there are no major holidays on the horizon, practically every Mac laptop is on sale right now. MacBook deals can be found at Amazon, Best Buy, and B&H Photo this week. And we expect prices to remain low as Apple has just announced its new MacBook Air 15 and lowered the 13-inch M2 MacBook Air’s price to $1,099 (retailers are offering it for much less).
That said, if you spot a deal you like — our advice is to jump on it immediately because stock tends to run out fast. Preorder! Announced at WWDC 2023, Apple’s biggest MacBook Air features a large 15.3-inch Liquid Retina display (2880 x 1864), Apple’s M2 chip w/ 10-core GPU, 8GB of RAM, 256GB SSD, 1080p FaceTime camera, four-speaker system with Spatial Audio, and MagSafe charging. The laptop will be widely available on June 13.

The MacBook Air offers fantastic performance thanks to its Apple Silicon. The M1 CPU also helped it reach over 14 hours on our battery test. It features a 13.3-inch Retina display, Apple M1 CPU, 8GB of RAM, and a 256GB SSD. It’s no longer Apple’s flagship, but it’s a solid deal at this price.

How to find the best MacBook deals
Amazon and Best Buy tend to offer the best MacBook deals. The MacBook Air M1 and the MacBook Pro M1 tend to see from $50 to $250 off discounts. However, we’ve noticed that Amazon offers slightly better MacBook sales that its competitors. For instance, the M1 MacBook Air has dropped to $799 a few times at Amazon. Even the M2 MacBook Air has seen $200 off discounts at Amazon.
If you’re looking for MacBook Pro deals — you’ll want to look at Amazon, Best Buy, and B&H Photo. The 14-inch MacBook Pro has hit $1,599 a few times at Amazon, Best Buy, and B&H. The 16-inch model has also seen $400 off discounts at Amazon. (It briefly hit $1,999 a few times at Amazon). These short-lived deals are the best prices we’ve seen for these MacBooks to date.
It’s also worth noting that sometimes pricing varies based on what color MacBook you choose.

The MacBook Pro range includes the most powerful laptops made by Apple. The MacBook Pro line up includes the following:
- 13in MacBook Pro with the 8-core CPU/8-core GPU M1 chip, from £1,299/$1,299.
- 14in MacBook Pro with the M1 Pro (or M1 Max) chip, from £1,899/$1,999.
- 16in MacBook Pro with the M1 Pro (or M1 Max) chip, from £2,399/$2,499.
Those starting prices are what Apple sells the MacBook Pro for, but they aren’t necessarily the prices you will have to pay – many resellers discount even the newest MacBook Pro models, or you might find one that has a deal on an older MacBook Pro.
With that in mind, be sure to check which model you’re getting when buying from anywhere other than Apple (which generally stocks only its newest devices, unless you’re shopping from the
Apple Refurbished Store – read about
why you should buy a refurbished Mac). Many of the biggest discounts are on older models that lack the M1 chip instead featuring an Intel processor. If you spot a processor marked Core i3, i5 or i7 you are looking at an Intel-powered Mac.
Our advice would be to choose one of Apple’s newer Macs that are powered by its own silicon – the M1, M1 Pro, M1 Max, or M1 Ultra.
We recommend this because the Intel processors and graphics options being used in older Macs just can’t compete with these new options. Also it is likely that Apple won’t continue to support these older Macs for many more years.
Even if you are happy to buy an Intel Mac you should make sure you look closely at the specs to ensure that the price is reflective of the age of the Mac. We’ve seen resellers claiming a huge discount on a discontinued Mac as if it’s the price Apple sells it for now, but in reality you might be able to get a new Mac that is even more powerful for a similar price. On to desktop Macs now, starting with Apple’s most famous Mac – the iMac. First introduced in 1998, causing shock waves in personal computing, the iMac is now incredibly thin yet manages to house everything it needs behind its gorgeous display.
You can get the iMac with a 24in display with varying specs that’ll change the price and power. When the iMac first went on sale there were a lot of stock shortages for the new model, which comes in a variety of colours and features the M1 chip. Stock now seems to be at more reasonable levels and we are seeing some deals on the M1 iMac. See:

Apple was also selling a 27in iMac until March 2022 when that model was discontinued (at least for now – read:
27in iMac discontinued, but not necessarily dead). Despite the 27in iMac not being sold by Apple anymore you will probably find discounts and deals for that model as resellers sell off stock. Just keep in mind that it will be Intel-powered and that it’s days will almost certainly be numbered in terms of support (Apple generally supports Macs for five years from the point that it stops selling them).

But if you take a closer look at the best MacBooks, you’ll see that different models will be needed for different tasks. There are certain reasons why many will want to pay more for an M2-based MacBook Pro, and in 2021 14- and 16-inch systems, you have the choice between the M1 Pro and M1 Max.
And now that Apple has released the new 13-inch MacBook Pro 2022 and MacBook Air 2022, we have several new Apple laptops with the M2 chip vying for a place in this ranking.
What is the best MacBook right now? Apple’s
MacBook Air equipped with the M1 has long held the top spot on our list, but it has just been dethroned by its successor, the MacBook Air M2 (2022) .
This new laptop is more expensive, but packs a lot of power compared to the previous model. Not only that, it also has a new design similar to 2021 MacBook Pro .
That being said, the MacBook Air with M1 is still a solid machine. The Apple M1 chip makes it faster than we ever expected from the Air, and its energy efficiency ensures a much longer battery life, over 14 hours on a single charge.

The 2021 14-inch MacBook Pro is the Mac you need to get if you have: 1) budget and 2) need for more ports. Its new Liquid Retina XDR display with a 120Hz refresh rate is great.
Your favorite movies and everything else will look better. Oh, and the new M1 Pro chips (and the more expensive M1 Max) deliver more speed than ever before while still delivering all-day battery life.
On top of that, Apple has brought back MagSafe charging, an HDMI output, and an SD card reader to the MacBook Pro. This means you don’t need to bring a USB-C cable with you to connect to a display or use external storage. However, USB-A is still out and we are beginning to realize that Apple has no plans to bring it back. Other notable changes include getting rid of the Touch Bar (which never proved its worth) and replacing it with physical F1-F12 keys. Apple has also improved the internal webcam to 1080p from 720p. The 2021 MacBook Pro definitely feels like a professional laptop again.

How to choose the best MacBook Air
A few simple tips to help you make the right choice.
Performance
If you know you won’t push your laptops to the limit, get a MacBook Air and an entry-level model. Its 8-core M1 chip and 8GB RAM will surprise you with its speed. Upgrade this RAM to 16GB if you keep a lot of apps open at the same time.
Those running more demanding applications will either want to get the M1 MacBook Pro with 16GB of RAM or consider getting an Intel-based MacBook with 32GB of RAM. The new M2-powered MacBooks are a cross between the original M1 MacBooks and the M1 Pro and M1 Max laptops.
Graphics and gaming
For the M1-based MacBook, you get either a 7-core or 8-core integrated GPU, and we’ve seen amazing results with the 8-core version. The MacBook Pro with M2 processor ships with 10 GPU cores as standard. So upgrade if you want to play on your Mac. Yes, you can now play serious video games on Mac. It’s impressive.
Size and weight
The only differences between the 13-inch MacBook Air and Pro are the Air’s wedge shape and slightly lighter weight. The MacBook Pro (1.36kg for M1, 1.41kg for Intel) is heavier than the 1.27kg MacBook Air. No wonder the 16-inch MacBook Pro, which weighs over 1.95kg, best for those who either don’t mind the weight in their bag or don’t move around that often.
Although it has a 34-inch, ultrawide screen, it’s still considered a 1440p monitor because it has a 3440×1440 resolution. It means it’s wider horizontally than a 27-inch, 1440p monitor but has the same screen height. It’s great for PC gaming because you can overclock its 144Hz native refresh rate to 180Hz over a DisplayPort connection, but it’s limited to a max of 100Hz over HDMI. It also has incredible motion handling, especially at high frame rates, and even if it doesn’t have a backlight strobing feature to further reduce persistence blur, motion still looks great.

It’s different from the ASUS ROG Strix XG27AQ because it has a bigger 34-inch screen for a more immersive gaming experience, but the main difference is that you can’t overclock the 144Hz refresh rate to something higher. Luckily, it’s still a great gaming monitor with an excellent response time with high-frame-rate signals, but it gets worse with 60 fps signals, so you’ll see more motion blur in low-frame-rate games, like on a console or some PC games. It also has low input lag for a responsive gaming experience, and you won’t notice any delay, no matter the refresh rate you’re gaming at.

That said, poring over monitor specs can be a confusing chore even after you already know the resolution and refresh rate you want. There are many good options, each touting impressive arrays of features, that may cost wildly different prices for reasons that aren’t immediately clear. If you use an NVIDIA graphics card, this is definitely the monitor to get.
The Zero-G 32-inch cuts out a lot of the frills, focusing on delivering big-screen PC gaming for less. At such a low price, it’s an easy gateway to playing in 1440p at up to 165Hz. It also delivers a bold, vibrant image with 100% sRGB and 89% DCI-P3 coverage. That’s far from perfect color accuracy but very high at this price.
To separate out the acceptable from the incredible, you need to be able to see past the basics of resolution and refresh rate to see each display more holistically. Here are some elements to keep an eye on when you compare spec sheets.
It also has the side benefit of making your mouse pointer feel like it’s gliding on air across your desktop. As with resolution, though, you can only play games at your monitor’s top frame rate if you have a PC that can handle it. Most players probably won’t be able to play every game at 144Hz, especially in 1440p. Still, there’s a wide range of games with varying technical demands, and we generally recommend 144Hz for most players.
It features the lowest input lag and has the least chance of ghosting. For years, TN panels were the top choice for gaming due to their speed. However, IPS and VA panels have closed that gap and can also deliver a great gaming experience. TN panels are fast but tend to suffer from reduced color depth, contrast, and viewing angles, making their final picture less rich than the competition.
They offer better colors and viewing angles than TN monitors, but aren’t quite as rich as IPS displays. They’re also faster than IPS but slower than TN. Like IPS, however, VA monitors designed for gaming can still be fast and free of ghosting. VA panels excel in contrast, delivering better blacks and improved visuals in dark settings.
Modern televisions often feature peak brightness levels of 1000 nits or more and have local dimming zones for localized contrast. Right now, HDR1000 ratings are rare among monitors, so we generally suggest HDR600 as a baseline for HDR performance in games.
The MSI Optix MAG274QRF-QD uses quantum dot display technology to make its colors more vivid and improve viewing angles. The Gigabyte M32Q allows you to tie gaming features and screen settings to hotkeys so you can turn them on with your keyboard. Others, like the Alienware AW2721D, feature improved ergonomics through a highly adjustable stand. 
The least you’ll want to spend on a 1440p 144Hz monitor is $322.
As a result, even fast-moving objects are displayed smoothly and without jerks, which is especially important in online and eSports games.

If you’re someone who doesn’t plan on watching 4K content now or anytime in the future, then it might make sense to stick with a Full HD TV like the Vizio D-Series until you see a compelling reason to upgrade.
With that in mind, we wouldn’t recommend purchasing a D-Series TV if you plan on using it as the center of your home entertainment center.

They have a sturdy, well-built design and are certified IP68 against dust and submersion in water, so it’s not a big deal if you drop one in a puddle. Out of the box, they have a well-balanced, versatile sound profile. If you prefer a different sound, you can customize them with a parametric EQ and presets in the headphones’ companion app.
However, they’re less comfortable than other premium earbuds, like the Apple AirPods Pro (2nd generation) Truly Wireless, and don’t block out as much noise as the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds II Truly Wireless.
They don’t have as long-lasting a battery as the second-generation model and can’t reproduce as much low-bass. However, the first generation have a more neutral sound profile out of the box, which some users may prefer since you can’t adjust the EQ settings.

To choose the best TV size for your space, take a look at the recommended viewing distance chart for different TV sizes.
