We’ve currently tested 18 pairs of Beats headphones. They’re a popular brand that makes stylish and comfortable headphones. The brand was acquired by Apple in 2014, which means that some models come with features meant for users of the Apple ecosystem. Also, while they used to be known for their excessively bass-heavy sound signature, some newer models sound more well-balanced. We’ve recently purchased a new pair of Beats earbuds, the Beats Studio Buds+ True Wireless, and will update this article once they’ve been tested.

The best Beats headphones we’ve tested are the Beats Studio3 Wireless. While these over-ears are older and more dated, their flashy and colorful design helps them stand out. Like other products from Beats, they have a W1 chip, so you can seamlessly pair them with other devices in your Apple ecosystem. They also have a noise cancelling (ANC) system that does a decent job of blocking background noise. Although they struggle to reduce the low rumble of bus and plane engines, they do better at reducing ambient chatter at the office. With their ANC on, they last 23 hours continuously too, which will be more than enough for long days on the go.

They’ve got extra punch and boom from these headphones, making them a solid choice for genres like pop. Unfortunately, the extra bass muddies vocals and instruments while sibilants like cymbals are dark. Their sound delivery is dependent on the headphones’ fit, positioning, and seal, so it’s important to take the time to ensure a proper fit to achieve a more consistent sound.

The best Beats earbuds we’ve tested are the Beats Fit Pro True Wireless. These earbuds are a sportier sibling of the Beats Studio Buds True Wireless, but even if you’re not looking for sports earbuds, they offer a few extra features that make them versatile for everyday use. They have an h2 chip, so you can easily pair them with iPhones and MacBooks, and they have Apple’s virtual surround sound feature Spatial Audio (although it only works with iOS devices). Their ANC system also offers better overall performance than the Beats Studio3 Wireless, helping to reduce a wide range of noise, including the low rumble of bus and plane engines.

They have a slightly V-shaped sound profile out of the box, so audio has a little extra rumble and punch. Vocals and lead instruments are present and bright but can sound a bit harsh. Unfortunately, they don’t have sound customization features, but overall their sound is well-balanced enough for various genres. They have a fairly comfortable fit, but the buds have a bulky design that might bother people with smaller ears.

If you’re looking for earbuds to use during workouts, the Beats Powerbeats Pro Truly Wireless are the best option we’ve tested from Beats. Instead of stability fins like the Beats Fit Pro True Wireless, they have malleable hooks that wrap around your ears for added stability when on the move. This design is more comfortable for most people and helps ensure your earbuds don’t fall out of your ears during intense workouts. They’re also rated IPX4 for water resistance, have roughly 11 hours of continuous battery life, and come with an Η1 chip for seamless pairing with Apple devices.

Compared to some other older Beats headphones, they have a more neutral sound profile, which you might like if you’re not a fan of a bass-heavy sound or listen to a lot of podcasts or audiobooks while you’re exercising. Unfortunately, they don’t have sound customization options, and the companion interface is very limited. They won’t isolate you from much ambient sound, so they aren’t ideal if you want to escape distracting noise at the gym. However, you might not mind their low level of noise isolation if you’re running outdoors, as you can more easily monitor your environment.

If you’re shopping for a pair of budget headphones, the best option from Beats are the Beats Flex Wireless. These lightweight earbuds come in a few bright colors and have a flexible neck cable. They’re comfortable, well-built, and will stay in your ears if you use them for workouts. They last about 11 hours of continuous use, so they can get you through your daily commute and workday without recharging. Apple users can appreciate their W1 chip, making it simpler to pair them with iOS devices like iPhones.

Like many of this manufacturer’s products, they provide a bass-rich listening experience, with extra rumble and punch that works well for genres like EDM and hip-hop. Unlike some budget headphones, they have a companion app. However, it only lets you toggle auto-pause and auto-call answering on and off. It doesn’t include an EQ or presets for sound customization. Their mic has a passable recording quality but can’t separate your voice from loud ambient sounds, so they aren’t suitable for making calls from a busy street or bus. That said, if you want simple headphones, they have a solid performance for daily music and podcast listening.

Compared to other brands

  • Comfortable designs.
Most Beats headphones are comfortable and suitable for use over long periods. While their over-ear designs are the most comfortable, their on-ear and in-ear headphones tend to be more comfortable than similarly designed models.
  • Decently well-balanced sound.
While older Beats headphones tend to have a bass-heavy sound that lacks detail, recent models are better balanced. However, they still deliver the rumbly and punchy bass that fans have come to expect.
  • Stylish and sturdy designs.
Beats tend to shine compared to other headphone brands in their design. They have sleek, premium-looking headphones that stand out with bold color schemes. While they may not all feel as durable as other brands, their more recent models have a sturdy build quality that further emphasizes their premium price range.
  • Expensive.
Beats headphones tend to be rather pricey, especially compared to other brands. The quality of the more recent models we’ve tested better matches their premium price point. However, they still feel a bit expensive for what they offer.
  • Noise cancelling not on par with the competition.
Beats have a couple of models with active noise cancelling. Though some newer ones perform well, they’re still not on par with similarly priced from Sony or Bose. Check out our article on the best noise cancelling headphones for more info.
  • No customization options.
Most Beats have an extremely limited interface for Android and iOS that doesn’t offer customization features.

Beats vs Apple

Since Apple owns Beats, some of their headphones have the same features for iOS users, like h2 chips and Spatial Audio. The brands still have distinct styles and product lines, but both make sturdy, well-built headphones. Apple noise cancelling headphones tend to have an edge over Beats’, making it the better brand if noise cancellation is important. However, Beats has a wider range of styles and prices, like sports earbuds and budget options. If you want to check out Apple’s lineup, check out our best Apple headphones article.

Beats vs Sony

Sony makes a wider variety of headphones than Beats, including gaming headsets. Their headphones are more likely to have very strong noise cancelling, especially over-ear models, and many have companion apps that include sound customization features. That said, Apple users might prefer Beats’ iOS-specific features. Beats headphones are consistently well-built, while some Sony models can have a plasticky, cheaper-feeling build. Still, if you’re looking for more options, check out our recommendations for the best Sony headphones.

Overall, Beats make sleek and modern-looking headphones that feel like fashion accessories. Although older models have a mediocre-at-best sound quality, more recent releases have a balanced sound that doesn’t completely sacrifice bass. However, their headphones are expensive for what they offer, especially since the more feature-packed models aren’t on par with their competitors.

Lineup

Beats have a slightly unorthodox naming convention for their headphones, but they offer various models for different uses. Their product names can give you an idea of the style and features of a certain pair of headphones.

  • Solo = On-ear headphones.
  • Studio = Includes over-ear and earbud models with ANC.
  • Powerbeats = In-ears with ear hooks that are designed for sports use.
  • Fit = earbuds with a more conventional design (without earhooks) meant for sports.
  • Flex = Wireless earbuds with a neck cable design.
  • urBeats = A discontinued line of wired earbuds.

Conclusion

Beats have made great improvements to their lineup. They’re still a fashion-forward brand that focuses on bold color schemes and sleek modern designs, but their recent models sound much better balanced than what they’ve put out in the past. Their products are still a bit pricey for what they offer, especially their noise cancelling headphones, which don’t deliver the same level of noise isolation that models from competing brands provide.

Beats Studio3 Wireless review – SoundGuys

The active noise canceling (ANC) headphone game has been run by Bose and Sony for a while now. But the Apple-owned Beats brand has a few pairs of active noise canceling cans, too. Can the Beats Studio3 Wireless stack up to its competitors?

Editor’s note: this article was updated on May 8, 2023 to include updates to formatting and fix an issue with the microphone poll not displaying. Please vote on how you feel the microphone sounds!

Bassheads may want to get these headphones—in other words, these are for die-hard Beats fans. iPhone users who want to take advantage of the W1 chip features might also want to pay attention.

What’s it like to use the Beats Studio3 Wireless?

The headphones are made entirely of stiff plastic, though the matte finish feels good in the hand.

The Beats Studio3 Wireless is made of soft, matte plastic, which is really smooth to the touch. They’re not as much of a fingerprint magnet as you might suspect, and the plush ear cups are nice. I can wear these for hours at a time before my ears begin to hurt, though the leatherette gets hot after a few hours. The same can’t be said of the headband: it’s made of a hard, grippy plastic that tugs on my hair.

You can quickly compact the headphones for travel, and the headband is adjustable. The Studio3 Wireless feels stiff and you can feel the headphones stain against minor torsion. Luckily, they do come with a hardshell carrying case that I would recommend using if you decide to pick these up.

The connection strength was solid and there were no noticeable skips or issues on iOS or Android.

These have a few different buttons and, despite the symmetrical look of the headphones, they’re all located on the left side (save for the power button). Clicking the “b” logo on the left ear cup once will pause or play music, twice will skip to the next song, and three times will return to a previous song. You can also press and hold the button to access your phone’s smart assistant. Above and below the “b” logo is where you’ll find the volume up and volume down controls.

How do you control the Beats Studio3 Wireless?

The left ear cup of the Beats Studio3 Wireless holds the control buttons.

The left ear cup of the Beats Studio3 Wireless is where you’ll find its controls. In addition to a power button, the “b” logo functions as a three-point-button. A single, double, triple, and long-press of the “b” button gives you access to a range of playback and call functions, while pressing its top (up) or bottom (down) controls the volume.

How do you connect the Beats Studio3 Wireless?

The Beats Studio3 Wireless supports the SBC and AAC Bluetooth codecs and has Class 1 Bluetooth and Apple’s very own W1 chip. If you’re in the Apple ecosystem, you’ll automatically be able to use it with all of your iCloud devices. If you’re on Android, you’ll have to pair the good old-fashioned way by opening up your Bluetooth settings, but even that is pretty seamless. No matter your device, there’s no audio-visual lag on either iOS or Android.

The button on the left ear cup is painfully and unapologetically plastic and sounds cheap every time you click the button.

On the bottom of the left ear cup is the 3.5mm input, so you can plug in the included audio cable with a mic and remote. And, no, it doesn’t end in a lightning cable, nor does it come with a dongle. Moving over to the right ear cup, you get the power button and five small LED lights that let you know roughly how much battery is left. Double-tapping the power button also lets you toggle the active noise canceling on and off, so long as you’re on an iOS device.

To toggle noise canceling with an Android, you need to download the Beats app. Then at the very bottom is a micro USB port, which isn’t a USB Type-C because, reasons.

Yes, if your TV supports Bluetooth, you can connect the The Beats Studio3 Wireless to it. Otherwise, you could use a Bluetooth transmitter with your TV.

We recommend the AirFly Pro. It plugs into a 3.5mm jack and creates a Bluetooth connection with your headphones. It can also function as a Bluetooth receiver in your car.

How’s the active noise canceling performance on the Beats Studio3 Wireless?

Well one thing’s for sure, the headphones definitely are decent isolators.

Now, the active noise canceling is kind of the point of getting these headphones. You can turn the ANC on or off in two ways: one is by clicking the power button twice, and the other is in the actual Bluetooth settings app on iOS. On Android, you can toggle ANC if you download the Beats app. The headphones by default always have the ANC on, and it adapts to the amount of sound going on around you.

The ANC unit is passable, but not great. However, as the Beats Studio3 Wireless are pretty good at physically blocking noise from entering your ears, the cumulative effect is decent.

How long does the Beats Studio3 Wireless battery last?

Beats claims a battery life of 22 hours with active noise canceling turned on and 40 hours without. For reference, Bose claims about 20 hours of constant playback on their QC35 headphones. In our testing here we got 10 hours, 12 minutes on 100% volume with ANC turned on, so it isn’t hard to see how you could push these well beyond the 22 hours unless you want to blow out your eardrums.

Does the Beats Studio3 Wireless sound good?

The only button on the right ear cup is the power button on the bottom, which also lets you turn off or on active noise canceling if you double-tap it.

When it comes to headphones that I’m going to be using for hours at a time on plane rides and commutes, I want three things: comfort (which I already spoke about), battery life (which is pretty good), and sound quality. If I’m taking a 20-hour plane ride, chances are that I’m going to be staring wistfully out of the window at some point, reminiscing and listening to my favorite Bon Iver song, as we all do. At that point, sound quality becomes really important.

Lows, mids, and highs

We’ve heard worse than the Beats Studio3 Wireless (cyan), but this is an odd sound.

Now, these Beats headphones are notorious for favoring bass but it isn’t as loud as you might expect. The boosted bass notes are louder than our house curve (pink) suggests, though it remains listenable. Particularly bass-heavy tracks may suffer: the bass in the song Never Look Back by Slow Club masks the slow finger snaps at the intro. That really shouldn’t happen. The vocals that come in at about the same time but at least the midrange boost makes them fairly easy to hear.

Around 0:08 seconds in, the main melody comes in, which is a female vocal layered on top of another vocal singing that same melody at a lower register. With these headphones, that secondary melody is more or less equal in output to the main melody which, by definition of being a secondary melody, shouldn’t be the case.

How is the call quality?

The Beats Studio3 Wireless contains an integrated microphone for voice calls, though you could also use the audio cable’s in-line microphone. We have yet to measure the in-line microphone’s frequency response. Meanwhile, the internal microphone demos highlight that voices sound slightly muffled and background noise causes distortions, making this headset less than ideal for anything but a quiet environment.

Should you buy the Beats Studio3 Wireless?

Though the plush ear pads are comfortable, the grippy plastic on the bottom of the headband is annoying to wear.

I have a hard time recommending this headset. The Studio3 Wireless feels like it was haphazardly thrown together just to try and take a piece of the ANC market currently being ravaged by Bose and Sony. They offer sound significantly worse than both the Bose QC35 II and the Sony WH-1000XM4, a build that feels like it’ll crack if you bend it too much, and, though the ANC is decent, it isn’t better than its alternatives.

I’m usually a little more lenient with Beats products because I know they’re going to sell anyway, but the Studio3 Wireless isn’t worth the original $350 USD. On promotion, for less than $200 USD is a different story. This headset becomes a fairly priced option at that point but the “studio” moniker doesn’t make this a real set of studio headphones.

What should you get instead of the Beats Studio3 Wireless?

Beats Studio3 Wireless vs Sony WH-1000XM5

The Sony WH-1000XM4 headphones opt for a slighty thinner headband.

The Sony WH-1000XM5 has some of the very best ANC in the business. If you’re interested in spending$398 at Amazon on a pair of headphones, I definitely recommend it over the Beats Studio3. Sony’s active noise canceling performance is among the best available, and this also offers Bluetooth 5.2 multipoint with AAC and LDAC driver support, and its sound signature is much more accurate than the Studio3. If you want to save a bit of cash, go for the older Sony WH-1000XM4 ($348 at Sony) or Sony WH-1000XM3 ($348 at Amazon).

Beats Studio3 Wireless vs Bose QuietComfort 45

The Bose QC45 is one of the most comfortable headphones you can buy.

If you want something more comfortable and with the best active noise canceling for $329 at Amazon, look into the Bose QuietComfort 45. This headset is, as the name suggests, insanely comfortable and easy to travel with. You get SBC and AAC Bluetooth codec support along with a wired input for lossless playback. The Bose Music app works with iOS and Android, and, as of February 2022, it also comes with an equalizer.

Beats Studio3 Wireless vs Apple AirPods Max

The Apple AirPods Max don’t have folding hinges which is a bummer, but the ear cups do rotate 90 degrees to lie flat.

The Apple AirPods Max is even more expensive ($549 at Apple) than the Beats or Sony flagships, but Apple’s debut ANC headphones come packed with advanced hardware and software. Each ear cup houses an h2 chip for maximum processing power, and the headset supports Spatial Audio, which is great for virtual media like movies and games. It isn’t perfect though, and we highlight all its pros and cons in our Apple AirPods Max review.

Frequently asked questions

No, you cannot use the headset as a speaker. It only plays audio through the ear cup drivers into your ears, and isn’t meant to emit sound beyond the scope of your ears.

If you have an iPhone or iPad, make sure it’s running the most recent version of iOS or iPadOS. Connect your headset to the source device, and the firmware will update automatically. If you own an Android device, you must download the Beats app from the Google Play store, and update the firmware from the app.

Yes, the Beats Studio3 Wireless headphones have an integrated microphone. You can also use the “b” logo on the left ear cup to answer or reject phone calls.

Eminem’s Bodyguard Recalls the Biggest Fight Marshall Started at a San Francisco Concert

Big Naz, who worked with Eminem in his early days, has many stories to tell about those times.

Actually he wrote a whole book about it called “Shady Bizzness” and went on a press tour with it last year. This story, however, was revealed during an interview with Big Naz on the 2019 Cam Capone News, which aired on November 1st.

This eventful story about a fight that started when Eminem couldn’t take the insults from the crowd took place on May 1999 years in San Francisco:

“Yeah, there was a guy in the crowd, man, oh my god, just a pain in the ass. It’s the guy in the crowd who was yelling at Em, “Fuck you, Em! You are shit! You’re a fucking psycho!” And so on. And Em stops the show. “Hey motherfucker, what did you say to me?” Well, he’s already drunk, you know. I won’t say he was drunk, but it was like he was on edge, his adrenaline was high, he was at the climax of his concert, and then someone was taunting him and saying all sorts of crap. The guy shows him all the fakies: “Fuck you, bastard!” Then Em stops the concert and tells the DJ: “Stop the fucking music, I’ll talk to that bastard right here.” The guy stood in front and in the center. Em continues: “Hey, fuck you, get the fuck out of here. ” The guy says, “Fuck you!” Next thing I remember: Em is flying off stage with a clenched fist. He hit the guy. But he hit the wrong guy.

So I broke in, Proof, the DJ too, the sound guy for them, the whole Interscope team broke in. Everyone who was in the opening act immediately jumped up. This is about 3,500 people at once, and we fight with everyone. There are about 30 of us, even less than a percent of the total.”

There was nothing special about this asshole, says Naz, Marshall heard such shouts quite often, and besides, he was not shy about getting under heavy fire:

“It was like any other night, we hear this shit all the time . He always jumped into the crowd. Every night he jumped into the crowd, every concert, and the crowd caught him. Sometimes he went down under the stage. But when he jumped this time, I was shocked that he jumped to fight. I’ve never seen this before. When he jumped into the fray, everything changed, man. Because he was flying through the air like a fucking superhero who hits a guy but hits the wrong dude. So he jumps down, hits the wrong guy, and now he’s down there fighting. He’s at the bottom of the shit pile. I jump inside, follow him, and then some guy hits me on the back of the ear. So now everyone is rushing to fight. I thought, “Fuck Ema, this guy just hit me!” So I hit the guy who hit me. I hit him so hard that he passed out. The crowd rocked him back and forth. So the one I knocked out did not have time to fall, he was swung back and forth like a dead fish in water.

Then Proof appears. He says, “Hey, we gotta get Em!” We start filming these guys with Em. There were four on it. We shoot them, shoot them… The last guy sits on Em and beats him. Proof jumps up and kicks the guy, such a big dude. Em is downstairs giving the guy some juicy blows. Proof hits this guy so hard it looks like someone is playing a bongo. At this time, I also get pretty hard, I won’t lie. We ended up breaking the guy’s ribs. I take the last guy off Em and dump him… Mind you, while we’re all doing this, we’re still getting hit, bludgeoned, kicked, but we have to focus on Em. And people are hitting us for no reason because we’re trying to focus on Em. I pick up Em and throw him back on stage. I take Proof and throw him on stage. And now me, Young Zee and a couple of the guys from Outsidaz, back to back, we knock out the bastards, one by one. We turn people off, man. You run up – they drop you.

And then people were simply laid out on the ground. There was a real pandemonium on the stage. Here I think that our guys will return, and I will be the last one to go on stage. I get the most hits from everyone: ribs, back of the head, head. I think, “Damn, we need to get out of here!” Because at this moment everything can turn into a riot. So we’re back on stage. The crowd, man, they scream, they go crazy, it’s fucking chaos, man. I get back on stage and say, “Hey, we’re leaving! Get out of here immediately!” Here we run to the tour manager, Gus. He stops us. Gus blocked the doorway from the side of the stage. He says: “No, we have to finish the concert. Because if we don’t finish it, these bastards will kill us. Show must go on. Get your ass back and end the concert.” I was like, “Gus, are you serious?! These psychos will kill us!”

By this time people are crowding under the stage. It’s getting worse and worse. Fights begin. The DJ sits down at the turntables again, he mixes the songs, “Just Don’t Give A Fuck” is next, and the crowd begins to calm down. Proof goes and brings George Clinton of the P-Funk All-Stars, who is also a native Detroiter, to the stage. Proof had a microphone and George Clinton under his arm: “Hey, that’s how the bastards from Detroit do it! Do you like this shit?” People stopped fighting and were like, “Damn it, yeah!!!” He told them: “This is how we do this shit every night!” I’m like, “Uh, no, we don’t do that. We don’t get our ass kicked every night.” The next thing I remember, Em is reading “Just Don’t Give A Fuck” and when he does, the crowd goes absolutely crazy.

I must say that despite the fact that we had to fight and make such a mess, this is the most memorable show. And then we got on the tour bus that night to go back east, and my mom calls me, she says, “Hey, you know all the news was that you and a little white boy were starting a riot in San Francisco.” . I said, “Mom, it wasn’t like that!” She told me: “I’ll tell you this: don’t let them get you into trouble. I love you, but we’ll talk later. It’s all over the news, it’s all on the front page.”

So that was one of the most memorable moments. The next day we all woke up with bumps and bruises, all blue, but I would do that shit again. I would do it again man.”

This story was also covered by the press. This is how the events were described on MTV:

“Together with funk pioneer and fellow Detroit native George Clinton, Eminem tried to expel the provocateur with the help of security. As the altercation continued with the second provocateur, Eminem took action with the help of fellow stage rapper Royce 5’9″.

“You paid for my show, so why are you talking so much?” Eminem shouted to one of the provocateurs. The bleached-haired rapper, dressed in a white T-shirt and navy blue sweatpants, managed to perform about a third of his set in front of an almost full house of more than a thousand people before the incident occurred.

“I could make all those bastards in this place [the rest of the audience] kick your ass if we wanted to,” Royce said in support of Eminem.

When the provocateur did not stop, Eminem jumped down from the stage to him, putting his fists forward. Eminem’s bodyguard followed the rapper into the crowd, as did members of the concert’s security team.

The lights went on as soon as Eminem left the stage, and half the crowd rushed forward to get a better look, while the other half ran for the door.

A Fillmore spokesman could not be contacted for comment.

The fight lasted about two minutes and ended with Eminem being escorted backstage and the provocateur being forcibly escorted out the door. During the press conference, it was not possible to find out whether Eminem had physical contact with the provocateur and whether he received any injuries. As of Tuesday (May 11), no charges have been filed in connection with the incident, according to Benita Disilva of the San Francisco Police Department.

Shortly after the fight, Eminem, who seemed only slightly disheveled, returned to the stage and said that people shouldn’t “mess with street kids” and that anyone who doesn’t respect him will pay for it.”

Russian translation of the lyrics of the Eminem and Skylar Gray track “Leaving Heaven” from the album “Music to be Murdered By”

Read the translation of the lyrics of the ninth track “Leaving Heaven” (ft. Skylar Grey) from Eminem’s eleventh studio album “Music to be Murdered By”.

Leaving Heaven

Intro: Eminem someone’s level (E-e).

[Verse 1: Eminem]
Five dozen, flies buzzing over your head
Call me Grim Reaper, sleep is my cousin
You’re dead to me now and I’ll be the last you see0067 Before you die cursing (Yeah).
I got the eye of a tiger, I’m a survivor, so I’ll stand up and (What?),
I’ll be jubilant, because when I look at my legacy (Legacy, I see),
A bunch of dogs will try to fuck him dry,
Like Doll Triumph, and I’m like: “Fuck it all.”
I’ll make a massacre pile up the corpses to the sky,
Let everyone line up and attack,
Loners lined up,
Call them toy soldiers (Yeah),
Cause they’ll just end up on the shoulder blades, I’ll finish them.
Now the sky is only black,
But I’m not coming back, I already told you,
I told myself it’s time for bed,
But they still provoke me,
Hoping to see me emotionally completely broken,
But how the hell am I not to be awakened,
When do these bastards keep teasing me? Now. ..

[Chorus: Skylar Grey]
I’m leaving Paradise
I’m leaving Paradise
Angels can’t find me
Where are you going?

[Verse 2: Eminem]
I was depressed, beaten,
Approximately six thousand times since I was a kid.
A child who was bullied, joked about,
I was kicked out endlessly,
I have to remind myself of this from time to time (Yeah),
Get out of it,
And balance everything with talent, wit,
Because life is like a penny (Life is like a penny),
Because only one percent of those
Who overcome the shit that they experienced.
I went AWOL like I was pinned to the wall,
Don’t tell me about the fight, bitch, I lived it.
I was five or six the first time they gave me a jig
Malcolm, Isaac and Boogie jumped on me and took my tricycle
And I don’t know if you can call it white privilege, uh
But I I know what it’s like to be judged for the color of your skin,
Not to mention the attacks from both sides.
But I swore I’d come back for them,
Even if it means selling my soul to get revenge and (What?),
Came up with a plan that gave me an idea,
If I can’t believe in myself, then most likely I won’t reach my goal.
That’s why I always speak in ink
As long as I’m breathing I swear I’ll choke and beat them
Oh my god what a devilish heart I lash out and settle scores
Like in the Garden of Eden I’ll act reckless
Evil calls I’m already boiling and…

[Chorus: Skylar Grey]
I’m leaving Paradise,
I’m leaving Paradise,
Angels can’t find me,
Where are you going?

[Verse 3: Eminem]
Okay so while Macklemore kept his room clean and tidy (Yeah),
I got hit twice a week (What?),
Looking for a place to sleep where I sleep (Yeah)
Turning sofa cushions just to see if I can find change and scrape together some food.
If Denon and I found a couple of deciulis,
Then each of us got a pack of chips for twenty-five cents.
We were happy to grab it even if we had to share,
We did a backflip looking back on this,
I think it fits the definition of a goal like a falcon,
Add to that my mother was a freak.
Daddy was a bag of shit, yeah, he died, but don’t give a f*ck,
Yeah, I’m just thinking about my sweet daddy, who I didn’t have,
From the age of one, forty-seven-year-old scoundrel,
When you hear these words, they strike
As if an earlobe is pierced with a needle for an earring.
Should I be upset? You were dead to me before you died0067 Me? Shed no tears,
Should I have done a mural at your funeral?
Wrap your coffin in a hero’s flag?
Where the f*ck were you,
When D’Angelo hurt me on the Rio Grande?
Never seen your grandchildren you fucking coward
All your courage was in your stomach
I couldn’t imagine you going to heaven
So I ask for a pass to hell
That’s the only way I can kick your fucking ass ,
I hate that I will never say to your face: “I hate you”,
I’m not coming back from where I’m going,
Black sky, black soul, hand on the shovel,
Digging with the blade up and then stepping on the metal,
Vendetta has come, tell the Devil.

Conventional GPS trackers are small wireless devices that enable car owners to conveniently track the location of their vehicles from smartphones, tablets and computers. Whether you’re a commercial operator of a fleet and looking to improve logistical efficiency or just a concerned individual keeping an extra eye on a loved one for safety purposes, a GPS tracker can be a lifeline.

These small wireless devices provide an extra peace of mind for those looking to monitor vehicle use and movement. Most typical GPS trackers plug into a car’s onboard diagnostic computer port while utilizing both the preexisting global positioning system and cellular-based data networks to triangulate a vehicle’s location and display on a digitized map. Thus, many trackers require a monthly subscription payment in order to operate.

In addition to tracking location, many also sport extra telemetric capabilities using data pulled from a car’s OBD-II and trip computer, allowing for vehicle health monitoring, erratic driving behavior alerts based on driver input (sudden braking, excessive acceleration or airbag deployment), crash detection with automatic roadside assistance calling and connectivity to emergency services, trip logging and geofencing.

Though because they’ve been around for a while, there is no shortage of choices. So we sifted through the overwhelming selection of GPS trackers to find you the best ones that money can buy. Though bear in mind, our list of recommendations does not stop here.

Personal GPS Tracking

A portable GPS tracker is a convenient tracking option for monitoring people and knowing where they are at any moment. While it’s illegal to track a person without their knowledge, there are many relevant personal GPS tracking uses such as monitoring a child walking home from school, keeping tabs on an elderly relative living alone, or even for allowing a loved one to monitor your whereabouts as you go out for a solo hike or a run. Personal GPS tracking devices are smaller than a typical cell phone and extremely portable, making them easy to carry and use.

GPS Child Tracking

GPS Child Tracking

Parents are always concerned about the safety of their children, and GPS technology offers solutions for monitoring a child’s movements and location at all times. Parents may choose to use small, portable GPS trackers to monitor their children at the park, walking or bussing home from school, going to their friend’s house, etc. Geofences allow parents to also receive alerts the moment their child reaches a destination or leaves somewhere, such as when they leave school property or when they enter their home. The GPS tracking platform and iOS or Android smartphone apps are fully customizable, allowing parents to ensure that they are tracking what they most want to see.

Our GPS tracking platform and apps work together with all of your devices, giving you the ability to track everything you own all from one convenient location.

International GPS Tracking

International GPS Tracking

Sometimes your GPS tracking needs may require you to track internationally, whether because you or a loved one are traveling or because you have business to attend to in another country. Many of the GPS trackers we carry are available in international versions that can track anywhere in the world. Please note that in order for a device to work internationally, users must supply your own international SIM card to operate the device on an international network.

A Tracker with No Monthly Fees

A Tracker with No Monthly Fees

For users who are interested in after-the-fact GPS tracking without monthly fees, a GPS data logger may be the answer for you. GPS data loggers are low-cost solutions which don’t work in real time or on demand but do offer you the ability to look back after the fact and see where the device has been. Usually data loggers are among the most portable GPS tracking devices because they have no need for big batteries or cellular antennas to work. A data logger can be connected to any computer for review of data.

Top 10 real-time phone location apps

A person is looking for an application on the web – a GPS tracker for tracking a phone. Who does this? Intruder, scammer, private detective?

In fact, 99% of location requests are related to caring for loved ones.

The son is already an adult, but does not show up at home for the third day in a row, the daughter does not return from school or university. They do not answer the phone – then any mother will get worried, will start to put the police and the Ministry of Emergency Situations on the ears. The father of the unlucky offspring will try to determine the place of the phone. And type “real-time GPS tracker” in the search bar.

Find My Kids allows you to track your phone’s location and listen to the sound around it. Download from Appstore or Google Play.

Let’s make a reservation right away that determining the location of a person without his knowledge is illegal. Therefore, we reject fraudulent links and videos that promise to find out where a person is by phone number. Read the review and find out.

Classification of applications

Prostock-studio/Shutterstock. com

Let’s conditionally divide applications into types:

  1. Parental control.
  2. Family control.
  3. Phone search.

Let’s see what is offered in each category.

Parental control

The parent’s smartphone is equipped with a tracking application with wide functionality. On a child’s smartphone – the application is simpler. Then the child’s smartphone is added to the parent application and starts working as a realtime GPS tracker.

The application allows you to connect both children’s smartphones and GPS watches. Other things being equal, a more universal solution is always better. For example, in a family, children are 12 and 6 years old. The older one has a smartphone, the younger one has a watch. Is it really necessary to install two applications?

So, in parental control applications, we will evaluate both functionality and versatility.

Where’s My Kids

Prostock-studio/Shutterstock. com

App from a Russian developer, perfectly localized for the US and European markets. There are free and paid versions.

Supports both phone and GPS watch – put a plus. You can add multiple children.

The editors note a pleasant and very understandable interface.

Let’s deal with the functionality:

  1. Tracking on the map – yes.
  2. LBS support – yes.
  3. Geofences – yes.
  4. Messaging, including voice – yes.
  5. Finding and remotely turning off the clock – yes.
  6. Sound around the device – yes.
  7. Incentives and awards – yes.
  8. Several parents – yes.

In addition, the app can send a loud signal to the child’s smartphone. It sounds regardless of the settings – the sound is turned off on the phone or not. LBS is an additional positioning system based on Wi-Fi point signals and other indirect determinants, it also supports triangulation by base stations of a cellular operator – determining the approximate location of a phone using a signal from three towers.

The watch connects easily and is controlled entirely from the app.

Connecting a child’s smartphone requires the installation of the Pingo application on it. Then registering the smartphone in the parent’s app is a three-step process.

In addition to tracking movements, the application allows you to see application statistics – you will find out if the child played in the lessons, and what he generally installs on the phone.

The editors note the presence of a Russian-language application site, as well as excellent support – the chat is available both from the phone and from the site. The parent’s web account (the ability to use the application directly from the computer), which is currently undergoing beta testing, is certainly a handy find that other applications really lack.

Editorial score: 5/5.

SE Tracker

Prostock-studio/Shutterstock.com

Recommended as a native to half of the inexpensive children’s smart watches. Conditionally free – the user is shown ads. You can turn off intrusive lines for money. Apparently, it was developed in China.

In principle, supports all the functions of a children’s GPS tracker:

  1. Tracking on the map – yes.
  2. LBS support – yes.
  3. Geofences – yes.
  4. Messaging, incl. voice – yes.
  5. Finding and remotely switching off the clock – yes
  6. No sound around the device.
  7. Incentives and awards – yes.
  8. Multiple parents – no.

Prostock-studio/Shutterstock.com

App home screen, map with live marker.

A limited list of watches can be connected to the application. Theoretically, now you can add several smart devices to your account. However, judging by the requests to technical support, when adding the second and third ones, problems often arise.

The child’s smartphone cannot be connected to the application. Minus.

Extended functionality of the application is available in a paid version. There is paid technical support – $10.

Editorial rating: 3.5/5.

Family GPS tracker MaPaMap

Prostock-studio/Shutterstock.com

Shareware application – there are ads, switching off for money, enabling some functions is also paid. Ads are shown at the bottom of the screen all the time, sometimes they pop up in full screen when switching modes.

Country of origin – Poland.

The application supports both watches and smartphones. We put a plus.

Let’s go over our checklist:

  1. Tracking on the map – yes.
  2. LBS support – yes.
  3. Geofences – yes.
  4. Messaging, incl. voice – yes.
  5. Finding and remotely turning off the clock – yes.
  6. Sound around the device – yes.
  7. Incentives and awards – no.
  8. Several parents – yes.

It was not possible to determine the availability of technical support without purchasing the application. The program itself has a “Diagnostics” mode of four points. In the free version, we managed to click on the Internet, Location and Wi-Fi items – these buttons open the standard phone settings. The item MaPaMap server could not be clicked. Minus.

SE Tracker has at least a site in Russian with instructions.

Editorial rating: 3/5.

My Kids Safety

Prostock-studio/Shutterstock.com

Paid app with free 3-day trial.

The developer is registered in Cyprus.

Immediately asks for bank card details for payment – we put a minus. It only supports phones, there is no data on watch support – we put a fat minus.

Let’s get our checklist and put down the marks:

  1. Tracking on the map – yes.
  2. LBS support – no.
  3. Geofences – yes.
  4. Messaging, including voice messaging – no.
  5. Finding and remotely turning off the clock – no.
  6. No sound around the device.
  7. Incentives and awards – no.
  8. Several parents – yes.

It is unlikely that this application can be considered seriously as a tracker for a child. If not for such a pretentious name, the editors would have placed the application in the “Family Control” section, where it could take a higher place in the rating.

Data on any support for the application could not be found even in English.

Editorial rating: 2/5.

Best Parental Control App

The editors only reviewed apps originally designed to control the movement of children. Therefore, the products of anti-virus giants such as McAffee or Kasperky Lab were not included in it – their functions are more tailored to work with applications on smartphones – launch prohibition, installation prohibition, etc.

At the moment, the leader of the rating with a score of 5/5 deservedly becomes the application “Where are my children” with its pair “Pingo”. See where your child is right now and listen to the sound around his phone. The application is available in the AppStore and GooglePlay.

Family Control

Prostock-studio/Shutterstock.com

In order not to ask unnecessary questions to parents, siblings, adult children with whom you live together, you can install a real-time family GPS tracker. Of course, such an application cannot be installed without the knowledge of a person, so inclusion in the family determinant is a voluntary matter. Whether a person turns on the GPS tracker or not is a certain “check for lice”. Will each family member be able to voluntarily inform others about their routes? The question is philosophical.

Consider the best family monitoring apps. Let’s make a check-list by which we will evaluate the compliance of the application with the level of expectations:

  1. Tracking the location of everyone using GPS in real time.
  2. Battery charge check.
  3. Family chat.
  4. SOS function or panic.
  5. Geofences.
  6. Phone search.

The last item is optional, but may be useful for caring for elderly relatives. If your 90-year-old grandmother suddenly went further than the convenience store – this is an occasion to call her and offer help. Children can also be connected to family control, but it is better to use a specialized application.

The child control app can also be used as a family app. On the contrary, it is unlikely.

Consider the best family control applications.

Life360

Prostock-studio/Shutterstock.com

A solid product of American programmers. For the USA, basically, and suitable. There is a free version and three levels of tariff plans. Two of them are for the US only, the third is for worldwide use. Moreover, the price is unknown.

The main function of the application is to take care of inexperienced drivers. Conditional Bella Swan turned 16 years old, she received a driver’s license, an old pickup truck and a parental blessing and began to drive to school on her own. So that the sheriff’s dad does not worry, he can ask his daughter to put an application on her smartphone. And she will know if something happened to her along the way. At the same time, he will be able to intercept the pickup truck in time if the daughter decides to rush to Las Vegas.

Let’s move away from the lyrics and return to the functionality. Checking the checklist:

  1. Real-time GPS tracking of everyone – yes.
  2. Battery check – yes.
  3. Family chat – yes.
  4. SOS function or panic – yes.
  5. Geofences – no.
  6. Phone search – yes.

Additional features – family chat is made in the form of circles. You can invite any user of the application to the circle, thus organizing several different chats. The user himself chooses whether to show him the location, driving statistics, etc. for each lap.

Additional feature – the user can report the circle ETA – Estimated Time of Arrival or estimated time of arrival. Convenient for coordinating joint events and just family life.

No support data.

Editorial rating: 3.5/5.

Family Locator

Prostock-studio/Shutterstock.com

Application from the Slovak developers of GPS navigation products Sygic.

The application is classified in the Travel category on Google play, so users often miss it. In fact, it has quite advanced functionality and a nice interface. There are paid features, but the free ones cover most family control requests.

Let’s run through the checklist:

  1. Tracking the location of everyone on GPS in real time – yes.
  2. Battery check – no.
  3. Family chat – yes.
  4. SOS function or panic – yes.
  5. Geofences – yes.
  6. Phone search – yes.

Augmented reality technology is announced among the additional features.

In general, a very pleasant, functional application. If he had support for GPS watches, he would be a worthy competitor to the application “Where are my children” from the previous section. And so – a very worthy family tracker.

Editorial rating: 4.5/5.

Family Locator

Prostock-studio/Shutterstock.com

App from ZoeMob, a Brazilian developer headquartered in Sao Paulo.

The interface is typical for applications of this class. There are no special features. There is a strange warning about speeding. It may be useful for assessing recklessness on a bike or skateboard, rather than speeding a child on a car, as the description says. Another useful mode is the family calendar, it is convenient to plan joint activities.

Let’s check the checklist:

  1. Tracking the location of everyone on GPS in real time – yes.
  2. Battery check – yes.
  3. Family chat – yes.
  4. SOS function or panic – yes.
  5. Geofences – yes.
  6. Phone search – yes.

Quite an ordinary app with a low rating on Google Play. The website of the application does not provide information about the functionality of the paid and free versions, there is advertising in the application. Declared technical support by e-mail.

Editorial score: 4/5.

Family GPS Tracker & Parental Control

Prostock-studio/Shutterstock.com

A largely standard application from the Spanish company Tuso Technologies S.L.

Not localized, main language is English.

Of the chips – parental control of the use of a smartphone by a child, remote data reset on a stolen phone. The rest is a regular GPS tracker, only for phones. There is no mention of a GPS watch.

It looks like the app is designed more to limit a child’s online activities than to take care of them in a difficult situation.

However, the checklist is almost complete:

  1. Tracking the location of everyone on GPS in real time – yes.
  2. Battery check – no.
  3. Family chat – yes.
  4. SOS function or panic – yes.
  5. Geofences – yes.
  6. Phone search – yes.

The low rating and the abundance of complaints from users on Google Play only confirm the impression of the editors.

Editorial rating: 3/5.

The best family control app

Unlike the parent app, the first place in the family control rating goes to Slovak developers. Their Family Locator app is a really useful program, efficient and convenient. And the free functionality is enough to solve most problems. Dial 5/5 prevented only indistinct information about user support.

Phone Finder

Prostock-studio/Shutterstock.com

Phone Finder apps are simpler than the ones discussed above. Their task is to show the last known location of the phone or to provide continuous monitoring of its location.

Google and Apple have the standard ability to search and find devices. The success of these searches depends on whether the location history is turned on, whether the GPS Location service is running on the phone. LBS will give information, but not as accurately.

Consider third-party phone finder applications.

xfi Locator Lite

Prostock-studio/Shutterstock. com

The application is installed on a smartphone running Android or iOS. Allows you to determine the last location of the phone, turn on the sound on it. You can search both from another device with the same account, and on the site.

Application shows timestamp, device address, battery level. It is possible to work with layers on the map.

Editorial rating: 4/5.

Find Lost Phone

Prostock-studio/Shutterstock.com

GPS Tracker for Android. Install the application on your phone. In case of loss or theft, install the application on another phone, register using the same account and see the last location of the phone. You can call him through the app.

There is a “Last Hope” setting. Allows you to send to the subscriber to the lost phone information about the method of communication with the owner. Also in this section, authorized persons are appointed who, upon signal, will receive the coordinates of your phone and the battery status.

Editorial rating: 3.5/5.

The best GPS locator for your phone

Prostock-studio/Shutterstock.com

GPS locators are definitely useful applications. Modern smartphones have high-capacity batteries and low-power GPS modules, so there is no need to turn off geolocation on your phone.

Choose an application depending on the tasks – track the location and activities of children, take care of elderly relatives, coordinate family events or just look for your lost smartphone – there is a program for every request, taste and budget.

The leader of the editorial rating is the application “Where are my children”. It can do everything and more. And exemplary technical support is a guarantee that you will be online with your children and relatives 24/7.

GPS control – features and application – GdeMy

GPS control – a modern way to track the movement of any moving objects directly on the electronic map. To date, GPS control technologies have developed so much that they can be used both for domestic and commercial purposes.

How GPS control works

Let’s skip the boring theoretical part about the orbital constellations of GPS and GLONASS satellites, and let’s talk more about the applied aspects of GPS control technology. The method has gained popularity due to its high accuracy – the error is no more than 5-10 meters, as well as global coverage. Due to this, the observer can easily track objects at almost any distance.

The location is determined using GLONASS and GPS satellites, while monitoring is carried out in real time. This is achieved by constantly transmitting information to the monitoring system – through a reliable wireless connection (usually GSM / GPRS).

Thus, we come to the conclusion that the GPS control system includes devices for determining the location – GPS trackers, as well as an online service for monitoring.

GPS trackers are small electronic “beacons” that track the exact location of objects. Various models are provided for different tasks and objects of GPS control. Small wearable devices are suitable for people, portable bookmark beacons are suitable for cars and parcels. For continuous tracking of vehicles, it is better to use GPS trackers connected to the on-board network or to the diagnostic connector (OBDII).

Online GPS tracking service is the main surveillance tool. It allows you to track your current location, view a detailed travel history, create rules for notifications about important events (for example, leaving a geofence). For corporate use, analytical reports are provided on the use of transport and fuel, control of field employees, etc. Thanks to mobile applications, GPS control can be carried out from anywhere – directly from your phone or tablet.

Practical application of GPS control

The accuracy and reliability of GPS control technology has made it very popular and inexpensive. Therefore, today this method is widely used by both organizations and individuals.

In business

Companies use GPS tracking to increase productivity, reduce costs and improve service quality. The most frequently requested solutions are in the following areas:

  • Vehicle monitoring and fuel control
  • Control of mobile personnel
  • Control of the delivery of goods and parcels

In life

The use of GPS control technology in everyday life is primarily due to concern for loved ones – children and the elderly, as well as the protection of the car and other equipment:

  • Personal car
  • Babysitting and loved ones
  • Animal care in case of loss

Is there anything better than GPS tracking?

In order to give a convincing answer, let’s look at what limitations GPS control has – after all, any technology has them. First of all, this is the lack of a satellite signal in such “deaf” places as the subway, underground garages, reinforced concrete buildings without windows. Of course, you will always know the place and time, where and when the signal was lost, but you will not be able to see the exact location at that moment. However, the GdeMoi service compares favorably in that it always supplements GPS/GLONASS information with a location calculated using GSM base stations. This fallback method significantly improves the reliability of geolocation in the cases mentioned, although it provides less accuracy – up to several hundred meters.

The second limitation is related to the impossibility of online monitoring of objects when they are outside the GSM coverage area. This is because GPS trackers transmit information via GPRS, that is, cellular communications. Of course, there are GPS control devices with data transmission via satellite communications (for example, Iridium), but they are exactly an order of magnitude more expensive than “ordinary” common GPS trackers. But if you think about it, this limitation is not so significant in practice. Today it is not so easy to get to settlements and roads where there is no GSM network coverage, and in all other places GPS control works. In addition, GPS trackers store all traffic information in the internal memory and automatically upload it to the system when the connection is resumed. Therefore, the entire history of the movement will in any case be available to the observer.

Summarizing all the advantages and disadvantages of GPS tracking technology, we can confidently say that today it is the main method of remote tracking of people, vehicles, goods and animals. Other geolocation technologies (for example, by GSM and WiFi signals) successfully complement it.

Best headphones 2023: noise-canceling, best sound, most comfortable, and more

Whether you’re wearing them for the morning commute, while traveling, or if you’re simply trying to find some peace and quiet while working at home, noise-canceling headphones are a more essential piece of kit nowadays than ever before. And you’ve got a slew of great options to pick from; it’s hard to make a bad choice.

No matter how you’re using them, the criteria for picking the best noise-canceling headphones haven’t changed: the most important measures are comfort, how well they can eliminate outside noise, sound quality, battery life, and whether they support multipoint pairing so you can connect to two audio sources at once. The right headphones for you will differ based on which of those things you prioritize, but our overall pick for the best noise-canceling headphones is Sony’s WH-1000XM5. They offer a combination of sound quality, comfort, and great noise cancellation that’s hard to beat.

But if you’re looking for something a bit different, there are still plenty of options. If you want sublime comfort during those long-haul flights, Bose’s QuietComfort 45s are the answer. If you’re an iPhone owner and will only settle for the best, the AirPods Max live up to their price. But Bowers & Wilkins and Sennheiser also sell some tremendous ANC headphones if sound quality is your main focus. Trying to find the best headphones for Zoom life? Bose has a strong contender. And if you’re after something a little more stylish, Marshall’s headphones just might surprise you.

Sony WH-1000XM5

Sony’s WH-1000XM5s have a completely different design from their predecessors. The changes result in greater comfort when you’re wearing them on your head for extended periods of time — like on a flight or if you’re at the office.

Noise cancellation has been further improved from the already-stellar performance of the M4s, putting Sony at the front of the pack compared to all major competitors. Sound quality is more detailed and balanced than the older 1000XM4s; the low end is still punchy but tighter and less boomy than before. The M5s offer the best voice call performance in the 1000X series to date, and they can connect to two devices simultaneously, so you can stay clued in to what’s happening on your phone when you’re working away on your laptop or tablet.

With improved comfort, refined sound, and even better active noise cancellation, Sony’s WH-1000XM5 offer a compelling mix of features for the price.

Sony’s headphones also include unique features like “speak to chat,” which automatically pauses your music and pipes in ambient audio whenever you start talking. Or you can hold one hand over the right ear cup to activate quick attention mode, which is convenient when grabbing a coffee or listening to airport announcements. And like other high-end headphones, the 1000XM5s can detect when they’ve been removed from your ears for auto-pause.

The main downside of the WH-1000XM5s is that at $399.99, they’re more expensive than prior models. That’s a big reason to consider the 1000XM4s, which were our previous top pick for noise-canceling headphones. They remain part of Sony’s lineup and can often be found on sale.

Bose QuietComfort 45

Bose’s QC45 headphones are a return to form in the best way. They have a design that’s very similar to the QC35II, meaning they’re remarkably light and comfortable on your head, even when worn for an entire day. The oval ear cups never fatigue your ears, and no one can match Bose when it comes to comfort. Best of all, unlike the Noise Canceling Headphones 700, these can be folded to make them easier to travel with.

Bose made modest improvements to the active noise cancellation and stretched battery life to 24 hours from the previous 20. The QC45s also have a USB-C port instead of the Micro USB connector of their predecessors. And they add a transparency mode for when you need to have a quick chat with someone or want more awareness of your surroundings.

Sound quality on the QC45s is a little more even-handed than the bassy Sony 1000XM4s. But you can switch up the default sound: Bose added the ability to customize EQ in a firmware update in February 2022. One frustration that remains is that there’s no way to turn off noise cancellation without activating the transparency mode. It’s one or the other with no basic “off” mode. I’m still hoping Bose will address both of these shortcomings with future software updates, but you shouldn’t count on that.

Apple AirPods Max

There was definitely some sticker shock when Apple introduced a $549 set of noise-canceling headphones. The AirPods Max cost significantly more money than any of our other recommendations. But Apple’s build quality is on another level: these trade the plastic you’ll find in many noise-canceling headphones for steel and aluminum, and the ear cups are a breathable mesh fabric. They’re hefty headphones, there’s no denying that. But aside from Apple refusing to include a headphone cable in the box, there’s nothing about the AirPods Max that feels cheap. And I appreciate the simplicity of using the digital crown for controls instead of relying on hit-or-miss gestures like taps and swipes.

The most important part is that the AirPods Max deliver audio quality that’s up there with the best high-end Bluetooth headphones. They have an immersive, wide soundstage, fantastic dynamics, and you’ll find yourself hopping around your music library just to hear what they bring out in your favorite songs. Apple’s noise cancellation is on par with Sony and Bose, and no one does transparency mode better; at times, it can make you think you’re not wearing headphones at all. Extra features like Spatial Audio (surround sound for movies and TV shows) and automatic switching between Apple gadgets help make it a bit easier to swallow that daunting price.

But the AirPods Max do have faults. The carrying case is abysmal, battery life is only average for the category, and just like regular AirPods, they’re designed with Apple’s ecosystem in mind. It gets much harder to justify dropping $550 on them if you live outside the iPhone and Mac universe.

The best sounding wireless headphones

The PX7 S2 headphones from Bowers & Wilkins offer fantastic audio quality.

Bowers & Wilkins PX7 S2

If sound quality is priority number one, then Bowers & Wilkins has you covered with the PX7 S2 headphones. They exhibit superb, detailed sound quality that some people prefer to the AirPods Max. The Bowers & Wilkins cans are true to the company’s legacy and style, with a fine-crafted design that exudes quality.

I prefer their physical buttons over the tap/swipe ear cup gestures of Sony’s 1000XM5s. With 30 hours of battery life, they’re more than competitive with mainstream, less expensive picks. And the sound profile is delightfully warm and will bring out the most from your favorite music. The main downside of the PX7 S2s is that there’s no traditional 3.5mm or 2.5mm output for a headphone cable. You can still listen wired over USB-C, however.

60 hours. They can last for up to 60 hours on a single charge. That’s really all you need to know about the Sennheiser Momentum 4 headphones if you’re looking for an endurance champ. But they also sound terrific and prove extremely comfortable over long listening periods. This combination doesn’t come cheap, but you can find some good occasional deals on them.

Sennheiser’s Momentum 4 Wireless headphones edge out Bowers & Wilkins on comfort thanks to their lighter design, and the noise cancellation is slightly better. Next to the Sonys and QC45s, it doesn’t get much cozier. These are headphones you can wear for multiple hours without any fatigue or pressure on your ears.

Sennheiser’s sound signature is a bit more expressive and puts more emphasis on bass than B&W, but that upper treble range still comes through crystal clear. My only real nitpick with the Sennheisers is that they tend to occasionally power on inside the case for no obvious reason and automatically connect to my phone.

Both the B&W and Sennheiser headphones support multipoint connectivity and a range of Bluetooth codecs including SBC, AAC, aptX, and aptX Adaptive.

The best noise-canceling headphones for voice calls

Bose Noise Canceling Headphones 700

Bose is the brand synonymous with noise-canceling headphones, and the Noise Canceling Headphones 700 are another example of why that reputation is well-earned. They have satisfactory sound, excellent voice call quality, and great noise cancellation. It’s really a flip of the coin between these and Sony’s 1000XM3 headphones in the eyes of many. Sony ekes out superior battery life and more lively, impactful sound, but Bose’s support for multipoint pairing with two devices at once is a big plus. The Noise Canceling Headphones 700 are comfortable to wear for long stretches of time, even if they aren’t as feather-light as the company’s less expensive QC35 II headphones.

When it comes time to join a Zoom meeting or call someone, you’ll be heard loud and clear by whoever’s on the other end, which can’t be said for all wireless headphones on this list. Bose’s microphone setup on the Noise Canceling Headphones 700 is second to none, though Jabra also fares well here. Battery life is where Bose trails its competitors, with the Noise Canceling Headphones 700 rated at up to 20 hours — short of the 30 hours you can reach with Sony or other picks below.

The best noise-canceling headphones for style

The Marshall Monitor II ANC headphones have a stylish design that ties into the company’s history.Photo by Avery White for The Verge

Marshall Monitor II ANC

Marshall’s wireless headphones have proven surprisingly popular, and the company’s most expensive pair is also its best yet. The Monitor II ANC headphones are priced at $320, which puts them on the same playing field as Bose, Sony, and other tech companies that have been making premium noise-canceling cans for many years.

Marshall falls short of those brands in sound quality and ANC, but the Monitor IIs still provide warm, textured sound and perform decently at cutting down on ambient noise. But they definitely stand out from the pack in looks, with a design that speaks to the company’s heritage. The headphones fold up for easy carrying, and Marshall’s signature gold joystick makes the Monitor IIs simple to control.

They can also last up to 30 hours with NC enabled or up to a staggering 45 hours if you’re already someplace quiet and can do without the feature. That impressive longevity beats our primary picks. A lack of AAC codec support at this price stings, but I’ve enjoyed the Monitor IIs every time I’ve put them on. They’re more than just an amp brand stamped onto an average pair of headphones.

While they’re not an all-out upgrade on the WH-1000XM2, the Sony WH-1000XM3 make a lot of subtle tweaks to an already amazing pair of noise-cancelling headphones. That’s still true three years after they were released, even though they’ve been usurped by the Sony WH-1000XM4.

The Sony WH-1000XM3 wireless headphones are a superb pair of noise-cancelling headphones. Even though they’re a few years old and they’ve been usurped by the Sony WH-1000XM4, they’re still well worth buying.

Over the years, Sony has tried to perfect its headphones’ audio playback and noise cancellation – and unlike many noise-cancelling headphones on the market, the Sony WH-1000XM3 don’t just create a single sterile sound barrier, but multiple kinds that can adapt to whatever situation you’re in.

While this adaptability has been pushed ever further with the WH-1000XM4, that noise cancellation technology is one of the reasons the Sony WH-1000XM3 were the king of noise cancellation and the best headphones for two years running, until the WH-1000XM4 swiped the crown in 2020.

As such, the Sony WH-1000XM4s are the very best headphones you can buy right now – and they are a noticeable upgrade on the WH-1000XM3s – but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t still consider the older Sony headphones.

Now that the XM4 are here, they’re often discounted, making them a more budget-friendly option for those who want an excellent pair of headphones but can’t afford a high-end price tag.

Sony WH-1000XM3 price and release date

  • $349 / £300 / AU$499 at launched
  • Discounts are available often
  • Released in August 2018

The Sony WH-1000XM3 were announced at IFA 2018 and went on sale in August 2018.

Following in the footsteps of two previous 1000X models, the Sony WH-1000XM3 were the company’s flagship headphones before the XM4 came onto the scene. They’re feature-rich, as noted in the section above, and will sound like a premium pair of headphones should.

That said, because they have so many features, they’re going to be a bit more expensive than your average non-noise cancelling headphones: $349 / £300 / AU$499. That being said, they’re often discounted these days, often available for much less than their original price.

  • Lighter than predecessors
  • New padding along bridge
  • USB Type-C port to charge
  • Touch controls

Arguably the biggest changes to the Sony WH-1000XM3 compared to the XM2 are found in the design of the headphones: they’re lighter than the previous model and more form-fitting as well.

The headphones shed about 1 ounce (22 grams) off their predecessors’ design. That might not seem like a big deal, but considering you’ll be wearing these for an extended period of time like, say, a transcontinental flight, every ounce helps.

The other design change is the new flush fit that changes out the old padding on the bridge for something a bit more cushiony. This makes these over-ear headphones more comfortable, and less dorky-looking when they’re on your head. Sony’s also deepened the earcup and changed out the silver accents on the side of the headphones for a stylish copper tone instead.

Finally, the Sony also swapped out the microUSB port on the right earcup for a more modern USB Type-C charging port.

Outside of these minor tweaks, these are still relatively minimalist headphones – which really appeals to the business-class customer Sony is targeting.

The Sony WH-1000XM3 come in only two colors – all-black or gray-silver – and beyond an engraved Sony logo above each earcup, are totally nondescript. These are designed to sound good and feel comfortable to wear – they’re not flashy like Beats headphones.

Around the left earcup, you’ll find the only two buttons on the headset. There’s one for Power/Bluetooth and another to cycle the noise cancellation between its three settings: On, Ambient Mode and Off. Down below the buttons you’ll find an auxiliary jack, which is mirrored on the other earcup by a USB Type-C port that’s used to charge the headphones. (You’ll find a USB-to-USB Type-C cable inside the box, alongside a 3.5mm AUX cable, two-pronged AUX adapter and a hard carrying case. )

You can control your music playback by pressing or swiping the touch-capacitive ear cups. To skip forward, you’ll need to swipe right on the right earcup or swipe left to go back. Pausing is done by double-tapping, and you can resume your music with the same action. Similarly, turning the volume down requires you to swipe down on the right earcup, and turning it up is done by swiping up.

It’s a system that takes some getting used to, but once you use it for a week it becomes second nature.

Performance

  • Strong noise cancellation
  • Quick Attention Mode
  • aptX and aptX HD support
  • Little difference in audio performance
  • Google Assistant integration
  • Better call quality – but not great

Of course, what you’re buying a pair of noise-cancelling headphones for is their ability to effectively block out ambient sound. In that arena, there were none better than the 1000XM3 until the XM4 came along.

According to tests done by Sony, the 1000XM3 are four times more effective at cancelling noise than the 1000XM2 – an impressive feat considering how well the M2 performed.

In practice, that claim definitely held true when confronted with both low-frequencies, like the kind you’d find while riding a train or flying in a plane and in workplace environments where there’s higher frequency noises like people talking or music playing. In nearly every scenario the WH-1000XM3 performed admirably, often reducing noise from a disturbingly loud hum to a more manageable buzz – and sometimes eliminating exterior noise entirely.

Like their predecessors, the 1000XM3 are able to selectively allow some noises into the headphones as well. With Ambient Noise mode selected, announcements made over train station PA systems can be heard, while Quick Attention Mode allows you to quickly pipe in external audio without taking off the headphones by reducing the volume of the music and using the microphones located on the outside of each earcup. Since the launch of the XM3, this is a feature replicated by lots of headphones, including the AirPods Pro and the Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700.

While noise cancellation has enjoyed some solid improvements, audio quality remains similar to what we heard on the 1000XM2… which might have been more of a disappointment if the M2 weren’t such an impressive pair of wireless headphones in their own right.

The Sony WH-1000XM4 will sound a bit better while using an Android device that supports the aptX HD standard, but even on an iPhone they’re surprisingly great. Mids are straightforward, highs come through crystal clear and bass is weighty and can have some real slam to it. They really shine on a device that supports the LDAC codec – like, for instance, a Sony Walkman – but they’re by no means limited to those devices.

You can also summon Google Assistant or Alexa with a tap of the noise cancellation button, allowing you to ask either voice assistant questions. iPhone users can also activate Voice Assistant for Siri, which lets you control your smartphone by holding a finger to the touch sensitive earcups.

The last aspect of performance worth analyzing is the 1000XM3’s call quality. In several phone calls made with the headphones, the people we spoke to reported that we sounded clear – if a bit quieter – than if we had used the phone’s built-in microphone. This is likely due to the extra microphones Sony has embedded into the headphones themselves.

That said, while these headphones are fine for the occasional call or two they’re probably not what you’d want to use if you frequently make phone calls in an office setting – call quality isn’t as pristine on the 1000XM3 as it is on other business-ready headsets.

Battery life

  • 30-hour battery life
  • Quick Charge mode
  • Auto-off mode through the app

So how long will these headphones last on a charge? There are a lot of factors but, after a few days of testing, we found a good benchmark to be around 30 hours or so. Over a period of four days while the headphones were being tested (five hours a day x four days) they didn’t need to be recharged at all, ending the final night at around 30% battery life remaining.

For comparison, that’s about 10 hours more than the Bose QuietComfort 35 when used wirelessly and 10 hours less than the Bose if used in wired mode. However you slice it, it’s still more than enough juice to get you across the Atlantic and back if you’re travelling to the UK from the West Coast of the United States.

Should you find yourself running low, there’s no need to worry – the 1000XM3 has a “Quick Charge” feature that allows you to get around 5 hours of playback after only 10 minutes of charging. In putting that claim to the test, we went from around 30% battery life to 50% after exactly 10 minutes connected to the wall. Claim verified.

Should you want your headphones to last a bit longer, you can use the Sony Headphones Connect app to shorten the time it takes for the headphones to go to sleep. The default is 15 minutes, but you can reduce that number down to five minutes if you really want to wring every second of life out of them.

Final verdict

The XM3 are yet another impressive pair of noise-cancelling headphones from Sony. To wit, the Sony WH-1000XM3 are exactly the headphones we’ve come to expect from the new leader in noise-cancelling headphones.

Even if they’re a bit too close to the XM2s for comfort, they’re still among the best headphones you can buy nearly three years after they were released, only being pipped by the Sony WH-1000XM4.

That being said, you could save some money by picking up the Sony WH-1000XM2 – they’re nearly as good and now even less than they were before thanks to a recent price drops.

What is ANC and how does noise reduction work?

How the Active Noise Canceling function works in

headphones

ANC (Active Noise Cancelling) – Active Noise Cancellation of the headphones works on the principle of noise inversion, which allows you to drown out the surrounding environment. In simple words, the noise is read by a microphone and the noise wave is mirrored (inverted) into the speakers in order to level it. In the best headphones with active noise cancellation, a high-quality microphone is always built in, and sometimes even 2 or 4 that pick up noise and invert it.

The main disadvantage of noise canceling headphones

The main disadvantage of noise canceling headphones is the personal intolerance of . 10% of people may experience discomfort when using active noise cancellation: headache, dizziness. Reasons: If you get seasick, you definitely won’t be able to use noise canceling headphones properly.

In order to avoid a sudden headache and nausea , you need to listen to noise-canceling headphones before buying 2-3 hours and if everything is fine, then you can safely buy yourself one.

Apple iPad vs. iPad Air vs. iPad mini vs. iPad Pro: Which Tablet Should You Buy?

Apple offers four different iPad lines with five different screen sizes, ranging in price from $329 to $799 (for baseline models; the 12.9-inch iPad Pro with cellular connectivity and 1TB of storage will set you back $1,649). With updates to these tablets coming nearly every year (the iPad Air is the most recent one to be refreshed), it can get pretty complicated if you’re shopping for a new tablet.

To help you figure out what you’re getting with each iPad, let’s look at all the differences between the various models, including what’s changed with the latest versions. But let’s start with the similarities, and what you can expect from any Apple tablet you buy today.

Similarities Across the Board: Software and Accessories

A few years ago, Apple formally split the iPad’s operating system off from iOS, which powers iPhones, into iPadOS. The tablet-specific operating system is very similar to iOS, but focuses on streamlining and expanding multitasking to improve the usefulness of iPads as workplace devices, with pinnable widgets and cross-app workflow features like split screen and rapidly sliding between screens.  Basically, it’s iOS optimized for much bigger displays.

Wireless connectivity is also almost universally strong across all iPad models. Every version has dual-band 2.4/5GHz Wi-Fi with MIMO and optional cellular connectivity, though the entry-level iPad lacks Wi-Fi 6 and 5G.

Each iPad also supports the Apple Pencil. This doesn’t mean every Apple Pencil is the same; the $99 first-generation Apple Pencil works with the standard iPad, while the $129 second-generation Apple Pencil works with the iPad Air, iPad mini, and iPad Pro.

All iPads can also work with Bluetooth keyboards, but the iPad, iPad Air, and iPad Pro feature Smart Connectors that make them compatible with Apple’s Smart Keyboard, and the iPad Air and iPad Pro also work with Apple’s higher-end Magic Keyboard and Smart Keyboard Folio. In addition, all iPads can work with the Magic Trackpad 2, Apple’s touchpad accessory.

Apple iPad: Budget Baseline

These days, the standard iPad is Apple’s budget tablet, by far the least expensive at $329. It’s also the least advanced, but the most recent refresh has given it nice a boost in processing power.

The 2021 iPad uses the A13 Bionic chip, the same chip used in the iPhone 11. It still lags in power compared with the iPad mini (A15 Bionic), and far behind the iPad Air and iPad Pro (M1), but the A13 Bionic is no slouch for the price. Storage is also relatively generous, at 64GB for the baseline model and a 256GB option for those who need more space.

The screen is the least advanced of current iPad models. It’s a 10.2-inch Retina LCD, with a 2,160-by-1,620-pixel resolution for 264 pixels per inch. It lacks the lamination and anti-reflective coating of the more expensive tablets, and doesn’t feature Wide Color up to the DCI-P3 color space. The only significant change to the latest model’s screen is the addition of Apple’s True Tone feature, which adjusts color balance based on surrounding light.

The iPad’s rear-facing camera is the same 8MP sensor as the previous model, but its front-facing camera is significantly better. The selfie camera is 12MP, with a 122-degree field of view and support for Apple’s Center Stage tracking feature. It’s nearly double the resolution of the 2020 iPad’s selfie camera, making FaceTime calls much nicer. It doesn’t support Face ID, though; that’s still exclusively an iPhone and iPad Pro feature.

The big appeal of the regular iPad is the value it offers for the price. At $329, you’re getting a big, bright screen and lots of functionality, even if it has the weakest processor and screen of the lineup. If you want a versatile entertainment device for watching videos, reading books and comics, browsing the web, communicating with your friends, and even doing light text-crunching and presentations, it’s an excellent choice.

Apple iPad mini: Small, But Mighty

This is the smallest iPad, but a big step up from the larger entry-level tablet in power and features. The iPad mini weighs 0.66 pounds and measures less than a quarter of an inch thick, small enough to easily fit in a bag or even a large jacket pocket. That has its own appeal if the larger, pound-plus iPads are too bulky for you.

The iPad mini doesn’t make many compromises for its size. Its 8.3-inch Liquid Retina display features a resolution of 2,266 by 1,488 pixels, for a sharp 326 pictures per inch. It doesn’t have the ProMotion technology of the iPad Pro’s screen, but it features the same P3 Wide Color and True Tone modes, in a fully laminated panel with anti-reflective coating.

PCMag iPhone 13 Special: Apple Event Analysis

Internally, the iPad mini shoots past the base iPad with its A15 Bionic chip. The selfie camera is the same as the standard iPad, a 12MP ultra-wide sensor that supports Center Stage in FaceTime to automatically frame your face. The rear-facing camera is also 12MP, with True Tone flash and Smart HDR.

It’s full-featured on the connectivity front, with Wi-Fi 6, plus 5G on the cellular model. It also has a USB-C connector instead of a Lightning port, though it uses only USB 3.1 Gen 1 and DisplayPort, with no Thunderbolt or USB 4 support.

Apple iPad Air: Almost Pro

The iPad Air has sat in the middle of Apple’s iPad lineup for a while, offering a middle ground between the budget iPad and the iPad Pro. The 2022 iPad Air tilts that balance heavily toward the Pro end, with extensive upgrades that put it within striking distance of the pricey, professional tablet. It already was physically close in design to the iPad Pro, with flat edges and a very slim frame around a screen that lacks a home button, but now the internals have been upgraded to well beyond the iPad and iPad mini.

To start, the 2022 iPad Air uses the M1 chip found in the iPad Pro. That’s a desktop-level processor, the same one used in the iMac and MacBook Air. It’s a huge step up from the A14 Bionic mobile processor in the previous model, and starting at $599, it’s by far the least expensive M1 device available.

The screen is largely untouched, a 10.9-inch Liquid Retina LCD with a 2,360-by-1,640 resolution and a brightness of 500 nits. It supports P3 wide color, and uses a fully laminated panel with anti-reflective coating. It’s the same pixel density (264 pixels per inch) as the iPad Pro and iPad mini, though the iPad Pro can get brighter.

The front-facing camera has been upgraded to a 12MP ultrawide sensor with Center Stage, just like the iPad and iPad mini. It’s significant upgrade over the 2020 iPad Air’s 7MP selfie camera, but that only puts it on the same level as the current iPad and iPad Air, and it doesn’t have Face ID. The iPad Pro still beats it on the camera front, with its dual rear-facing sensors.

The Best iPad Tips and Tricks: How to Conquer iPadOS

The iPad Air’s USB-C port is twice as fast as the previous model at USB 3.1 Gen 2, but it lacks the Thunderbolt 3 and USB 4 support you get on the iPad Pro. The cellular version now supports mid-band 5G.

Apple iPad Pro: Professional Powerhouse

Finally, there’s the iPad Pro, released in early 2021. The name makes it clear: The 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pros are professional tablets, designed to offer the processing power and screen quality that artists, musicians, designers, and editors demand for their work. That distinction is important, because it needs to justify the much higher $799 and $1,099 baseline price tags the Pro models command over the other versions.

The iPad Pro uses Apple’s M1 chip, which made it absolutely crush the other iPads available last year. The desktop CPU has now been added to the iPad Air, though, so the Pro no longer exclusively has that advantage. It’s still an utter beast that can handle pretty much any processing tasks you can throw its way, and beats out the iPad Air with its smoother ProMotion screen and multiple rear cameras, along with the choice between 11- and 12.9-inch models.

The screens are the only major difference between the 11-inch and 12. 9-inch iPad Pro models. The 11-inch iPad Pro has a Liquid Retina display with a 2,388-by-1,668 resolution and Apple’s ProMotion 120Hz refresh rate and True Tone technologies, as well as Wide Color support. The 12.9-inch iPad Pro has all of those technologies and a higher 2,732-by-2,048-pixel resolution (for the same 264 pixels per inch as the smaller model), but adds a mini-LED backlight system that can both get much brighter and more precisely control the light output of the screen for better contrast.

The cameras on the iPad Pro are also impressive. It has two rear-facing cameras, a 12MP wide-angle lens and a 10MP ultra-wide lens that can capture double the field of view, plus a new LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) scanner that can measure distance and time-of-flight. In addition, the cameras can record 4K video at up to 60 frames per second, while the other iPads can only capture 1080p. The front-facing TrueDepth camera is also 12MP, with support for Face ID, 1080p60 recording, cinematic video stabilization, and Smart HDR 3.

The cellular versions of the iPad mini, iPad Air, and iPad Pro all have 802.11ax Wi-Fi 6 and support mid-band 5G, but only the Pro has millimeter-wave 5G. It’s faster but shorter range than mid-band 5G, and gives the Pro a slight edge on the wireless front. The iPad Pro also has a USB-C port, with support for Thunderbolt 3, USB 4, and DisplayPort. That’s a lot of power and flexibility.

So Which iPad Should You Get?

Ultimately, the best iPad depends on your needs. You shouldn’t drop over $1,000 if you just want a tablet to watch Netflix and read comics, but you also shouldn’t expect professional power and features in a $329 entry-level model. Thankfully, the iPad mini and the iPad Air mean that Apple’s tablet selection isn’t a matter of just those extremes.

We really like the $329 iPad for its functionality and value, and its processor upgrade makes it even more appealing. If you just want an Apple tablet for entertainment and personal use, the iPad is still an excellent value, while the more expensive iPad mini features significantly more processing power in a smaller package. The iPad Air is a good choice if you want the premium look, feel, and most of the performance of the iPad Pro without paying for the most expensive model, while the iPad Pro is a worthwhile investment for professional users looking for the brightest (and largest) screen and the convenience of Face ID.

How to pick the model that’s right for you

Apple iPad

Apple

Earlier this week, Apple introduced a redesigned iPad and updates to the iPad Pros. They’ll likely help the company spur sales during the ever-important holiday shopping season. But it also means Apple now sells six different iPads, and you might find it a bit tricky to pick the one that’s best for you or a loved one.

If you’re considering buying a new iPad, that means you need to choose between:

  • The new 12.9-inch iPad Pro
  • The new 11-inch iPad Pro
  • The iPad Air
  • The redesigned regular iPad
  • The iPad mini
  • Or last year’s regular iPad

That might look like a daunting list, so here’s a guide to help you figure out which iPad best fits your needs, listed in order of the cheapest iPad to the most expensive model.

2021 iPad: You just need a tablet

Apple iPad

Source: Apple Inc.

The ninth-generation iPad was introduced in September 2021. It starts at $329 and is the cheapest option in Apple’s current lineup. It has great all-day battery life and is perfect for basic tablet needs like streaming movies, reading, catching up on emails, browsing the internet, scrolling social media and FaceTiming.

It’s the cheapest, but it doesn’t feel like it. This is the iPad I currently use. It’s the right pick for you if you want to save a little money and don’t perform complex tasks like video editing. There are some drawbacks, though.

The screen and cameras aren’t as good as any of the other iPads. It has a dated A13 processor, first introduced in 2019, and it only works with the older Apple Pencil. Apple doesn’t sell a model with support for 5G cellular networks, so you’re stuck on slower networks if you pick that model. This is the “I just need a tablet” tablet.

2022 iPad: You just need a tablet but want some newer features

The new iPad

Apple

Pick this iPad if you need a great tablet and can spend a little more on the newest entry-level version available. It’s currently available to order online and will be in stores on Oct. 26.

The new entry-level iPad (10th generation) got a major redesign and starts at $449, a bit of a premium over the $329 iPad.

It has a larger 10.9-inch display and no longer has the home button. Now, the power button on top of the iPad has Touch ID capability, so you just tap and hold that button to unlock it.

Another big change is the position of the front-facing camera. It’s now on the long side of the tablet, instead of the short side, which should help you look more centered on the camera during video chats. It also comes in new colors including silver, yellow, pink, and blue.

The new iPad is powered by the slightly older A14 Bionic chip, but it offers faster performance and longer-lasting battery life compared to the cheaper iPad. It has sharper front and back cameras. And, if you need it, you can also buy a 5G cellular version.

But here’s a drawback you should know about: The new iPad only works with the older Apple Pencil. And that only charges and pairs through the old Lightning port. So, you need to buy a $9 dongle if you want to charge that pencil with the new iPad. It’s silly that Apple didn’t add support for the newer second-generation Apple Pencil, which charges and pairs through magnets on the side of other iPads.

It doesn’t hurt that it’s also available in some fun colors. Yellow iPad, anyone?

iPad Mini: You need a super portable tablet

Apple iPad Mini 2021

Todd Haselton | CNBC

The sixth-generation iPad mini, which starts at $499, was released in September 2021. If you value portability, this is the pick for you.

This is a great iPad for kids given that has a smaller 8.3-inch screen and weighs just over half a pound. I’ve even seen doctors use it since it fits perfectly in a white coat pocket.

Like the new iPad, the mini has a 12-megapixel wide camera and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide front camera, which work with Center Stage to keep you in focus during video calls. Apple also sells a 5G cellular version of the iPad mini, which means you can download apps, music and movies if you don’t have a Wi-Fi connection. And it has a faster chip than the new entry-level iPad above.

The iPad mini works with the $129 second-generation Apple Pencil, which is more comfortable to use than the dated first-generation version. And it’s convenient to charge. You just stick it to the magnet on the side of the iPad.

iPad Air: The middle of the pack

iPad Air

Source: Apple Inc.

The latest iPad Air, which starts at $599, debuted in March 2022 with Apple’s M1 chip, which is a big upgrade from the A14 or A15 chips found in the other iPads. It’s a great middle-of-the-road iPad for people who might do some video editing and gaming, but don’t need the better screens, cameras and added processing speed of the M2 chip that’s in the Pro models.

The iPad Air has Center Stage, which helps keep you in the frame during video calls, meaning you can move back and forth around the room while chatting on FaceTime and the camera will follow you.

You can buy a 5G cellular version of the iPad Air, which means you can download apps, music and movies faster when you’re away from Wi-Fi networks.

Like the iPad Pro and iPad mini, the iPad Air works with the 2nd generation Apple Pencil, which is more comfortable to use and charges when it’s attached to magnets on the side of the tablet.

iPad Pros: You need as much power as you can get in a tablet.

Apple’s new iPad Pros in 11-inch and 12.9-inch sizes.

Apple

The new 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pros are the highest-end iPads available, with the 12.9-inch iPad Pro offering a brighter and more colorful screen than the 11-inch version. The new models — updated with Apple’s M2 processor and more — are currently available to order online and will be in stores on Oct. 26.

This is the iPad for serious gamers, video editors, photographers, designers (or creatives in general) and anyone who just wants the best iPad on the market. The bigger screen on the 12.9-inch iPad might make it attractive for people who prefer using a tablet instead of a laptop.

The M2 chip is the biggest update with the new iPad Pros. It’s the same processor that was introduced in the MacBook Air earlier this year. Apple said M2 offers about a 15% speed boost over the M1 processor used in last year’s iPad Pro. That might be beneficial for people trying to eke out as much speed as possible while rendering videos. There are some other upgrades, too.

Both new iPad Pro models support Apple’s new hover feature. With hover, the screen can now detect the tip of the Apple Pencil up to 12 millimeters above the surface of the screen. Apple says this will allow artists to sketch with more precision and makes handwriting-to-text conversions faster. The iPad Pro works with the $129 second-generation Apple Pencil.

The 11-inch version starts at $799 with Wi-Fi, while the 5G cellular model starts at $999. The 12.9-inch model starts at $1,099 with Wi-Fi and the 5G cellular version starts at $1,299. If you opt for maximum storage of 2TB, the new 12.9-inch iPad Pro will set you back $2,399.

from Greek. choreia – dance and grapho – I write

1) Dance record (original meaning).

2) Dance. art as a whole, in all its varieties (the meaning of the term “X.” from the end of the 19th century). H.’s art is based on musically organized, conditional, figuratively expressive movements of the human body. The beginnings of figurative expressiveness are characteristic of human plasticity in real life as well. In the way a person moves, gesticulates and plastically reacts to the actions of others, the features of his character, the structure of feelings, and the uniqueness of his personality are expressed. Such “speaking” characteristic and expressive elements born in real life are usually called plastic. intonations or motives. The origins of the figurative nature of X are rooted in them. It is based on the fact that characteristically expressive plastic. motives, relying on music, are selected from a variety of real life movements, generalized and organized according to the laws of rhythm and symmetry, ornamental pattern, decorative whole. Kh. – the art is originally synthetic, because outside the music, which enhances the expressiveness of the dances. plastics, giving her emotional and rhythmic. basis, it cannot exist. The rhythm of percussion instruments that accompanies the dances of some Eastern. and Afr. peoples, is already a kind of music. At the same time, dance is a spectacular art, where not only the temporal, but also the spatial composition of the dance, the visible appearance of the dancers (hence the role of costume, decorative design, etc.) acquires significant significance. The highest form of H. is ballet, which is at the same time a kind of muses. theater.

The art of Kh. originated in ancient times. Already in the primitive era, dance arose as a direct expression of people’s joy at the successful completion of their labor or military activities. It was based on the reproduction of the corresponding movements, originally had a religious magic. meaning, was inseparable from the rituals. In a class society, there was a division of dance into nar. and professional. Nar. dance for a long time kept in touch with labor processes, pagan and everyday rituals (pantomime dance in ancient China and ancient India, ancient Greek Dionysian games, Russian Maslenitsa games, etc.). It found expression of the feelings of the people, features of the nat. character, reflected diff. sides of his life. Gradually separating from a direct connection with labor and rituals, the dance acquired the meaning of art, embodying the beauty of the body, decomp. state of the human spirit. Already in antiquity there was a prof. dance as a spectacle similar to theatrical. From con. 16th century ballet began to take shape, first existing in the form of interludes and divertissements in opera and drama. mythological representations. character, and in the 18th century. separated into independent art. Throughout its history, Prof. Kh.’s art was based on Nar. dance, borrowed and implemented many of its elements.

Modern Kh. distinguishes between everyday dance (folk and ballroom) and stage dance (variety and ballet).

Samsung Galaxy Buds: with sound by AKG

The Samsung Galaxy Buds are wireless earphones or earbuds that Samsung unveiled back in February 2019 during the Galaxy Unpacked press conference. Along with its reveal, Samsung also displayed the complete series of the Samsung Galaxy S10 and the first generation of Samsung Galaxy Fold.

Here’s all you need to know about the Samsung Galaxy Buds engineered by AKG.

    In this article:

    • 1. Specification: Samsung Galaxy Buds
      • 1.1 Sound quality
      • 1.2 Microphone: calls and online conferences
      • 1.3 Fit
      • 1.4 Controls and functionality
      • 1.5 Battery
    • 2. Conclusion: our verdict
    • 3. Alternatives

    Pros and Cons

Here’s a quick look of what we liked and didn’t like about the POGS headphones for kids.

    Advantages Disadvantages
    ✔️Great design
    ✔️Comfortable to wear
    ✔️Patented design
    ❌Lack of aptX support
❌Full functionality with Samsung phones only

    Specification of POG headphones

    • Price: US$129
    • 5.8pi Dynamic driver
    • Touch controls
    • Earbuds weighs 5.6g each
    • Bluetooth v5.0 (LE up to 2 Mbps)
    • A2DP,AVRCP,HFP
    • 58mAh built-in battery
    • 252mAh case battery
    • Up to 6 hours of play time
    • Ambient sound
    • Supports Bixby

Sound quality of the Samsung Galaxy Buds

Straight out of the box, the Samsung Galaxy Buds has a distinctive sound that you won’t usually hear from most earbuds on the market. Thanks to AKG, these earbuds are able to deliver solid sound quality. However, we noticed it has a flat response which doesn’t bring any emphasis on mid and low tones.

The earbuds comes with five different equalizer modes to adjust its sound quality to your preference and those are Bass Boost, Soft, Dynamic, Clear, and Treble Boost. Testing each profile doesn’t really elevates the sound quality of the earbuds. We believe that this is due to the lack of aptX support that causes the sound quality to be limited even if they were tuned by AKG.

    Sound quality score: 6.5/10

Considering its price, the sound quality of the Samsung Galaxy Bud overall is good but it could be better. If you’re looking for the best quality then we recommend checking out the Eardopes B6 Pro.

Microphone: Is the Samsung Galaxy Buds good with phone calls?

The Samsung Galaxy Buds, when it comes to its microphone quality, is above average. Out of the box, the sound and audio of the person using these earbuds as a microphone is clear and understandable. However, there’s a distinctive sound that once you hear, you will know that the other person on the other line is using an earbud for the said phone call.

    Microphone quality: 6.5/10

What we noticed though is that the microphones of these earbuds are designed to favor functionality over quality. What this means is that, even if these earbuds comes with 4 microphones, the functionality of those are designed to placed in to enhanced the functionality of ambient sound and noise cancellation. So when using them for calls, the quality is acceptable and above average but nothing compared to others. If you’re looking for an earbud that has excellent microphone quality, we recommend checking out our article we wrote comparing microphone quality of most earbuds on the market. You’ll be surprised to know which model has the best microphone quality.

Fit: How does the Samsung Galaxy Buds fit?

The Samsung Galaxy Buds is by far one of the most comfortable to wear earbuds we have tested. It’s no surprised why Samsung patented the design of these earbuds. It’s light weighted, sturdy, comfortable to wear, and it doesn’t easily induce ear fatigue while wearing them for long hours.

    Fit score: 8/10

Surprisingly, its fittings and ear tips design also helps in terms of sound quality. It is able to do by isolating noise by means of the silicone ear tips.

To further enhance the sound quality, comfort level, and fitting of the earbuds, we recommend getting a foam ear tips to replace the include silicone ear tips. These foam ear tips are less likely to induce ear fatigue compared to silicone and they are more comfortable to wear. Furthermore, they offer better noise isolation which ultimately enhanced sound quality overall.

Controls and functionality of the Samsung Galaxy Buds

The Samsung Galaxy Buds comes equipped with touch control panel. Out of the box, the touch control already has a preset of programs but you can configure it using the Galaxy Wearable app.

These earbuds are fairly easy to operate. The only downside is that it lacks volume control. Fortunately, you can set a volume control using the Galaxy Wearable app however, if you’re using an iOS phone, you’re out luck.

The Samsung Galaxy Buds also comes with sensors that pauses the music when you take them off your ears.

Battery: How long does it last?

The Samsung Galaxy Buds comes with 58mAh battery capacity for each ear piece. It is rated to last up to 6 hours of continuous use on a single full charge. The case adds an additional 7 hours with its 252mAh capacity.

If you own a smartphone that supports wireless charge sharing, you can charge the Samsung Galaxy Buds using such feature. For example, if you have a Samsung Galaxy S10, S20, or S21, you can make use of the Wireless PowerShare feature that these phones has to charge the case of the Samsung Galaxy Buds.

    Battery score: 5.5/10

All you have to do is place it on the back of the phone. Pretty cool, right? However, we don’t see this as a practical thing to do. Why? Well, we’re pretty sure that you’re phone is already low battery before the time comes when the idea of charging the Samsung Galaxy Buds comes to mind.

    Conclusion: our verdict

The Samsung Galaxy Buds is one of those earbuds that are best enjoyed and paired with devices from the same company such as the Samsung Galaxy S10. You do get to enjoy it a little bit more with Android devices but it’s definitely a no for iOS.

When it comes to sound quality, it’s decent but not the best out there. At the price of US$129 retail, the only time that you would want to consider getting one of this is if you have a Samsung smartphone. Otherwise, there are out better options out there.

While advanced video features are all the rage on cameras, photography is still the bread and butter of most consumer cameras. Whether you’re looking for the perfect camera to document your travel adventures, a model that can capture beautiful landscapes, or a fast camera to keep up with sports and wildlife, there’s no shortage of options out there, including many that are well-rounded enough to suit all manner and styles of photography. What’s most important is choosing a camera that fits your needs, budget, and ergonomic preferences.

It’s worth noting that a camera’s overall performance can vary drastically depending on the lens you use. Generally, it’s better to invest in a less expensive camera body and higher-quality lenses than in an expensive camera body and cheap lenses.

We’ve bought and tested over 80 cameras in our lab, and below you’ll find our recommendations for the best digital cameras for photography. If you’re looking for something more specific, you can also check out our recommendations for the best cameras for wildlife photography, the best cameras for landscape photography, or the best cameras for low-light photography.

The Canon EOS R6 Mark II is the best enthusiast camera we’ve tested for photography. This well-rounded full-frame camera excels at all kinds of photography and even offers improvements over its predecessor, the Canon EOS R6, our previous favorite. Its new higher-resolution sensor gives you a little more leeway to crop your photos. The camera now has a faster readout speed and a whopping 40 fps burst rate when using the electronic shutter. Throw in a remarkable autofocus system with reliable tracking, and you’ve got a fantastic camera for sports and action photography.

Beyond that, it’s well-built, weather-sealed, and feels good in the hand. Plus, it has in-body image stabilization (IBIS) to help you shoot at slower shutter speeds in low light. That said, lens selection for the RF-mount still falls short of competitors like Sony. If you do want more native and third-party lenses to choose from, the Sony α7 IV is another fantastic hybrid camera aimed at enthusiasts. It has a more clinical design with worse ergonomics than the Canon, but the two cameras are very evenly matched performance-wise. Of course, the original R6 is still an amazing camera for photography that’ll save you a bit of money if you don’t mind a lower-resolution sensor.

While the Sony α7 III is an older model, it’s still well worth considering today, especially if you want to save some money. Though it’s been replaced by the more video-capable Sony α7 IV, the a7 III is a mainstay for a reason and remains one of the best cameras for photographers for its price. It has plenty to offer, including a still-competitive autofocus system, 10 fps burst shooting, and fantastic battery life for a mirrorless camera.

You do lose out on weather sealing, touch navigation, and Sony’s new-and-improved menu system. However, these are small sacrifices for a camera that still holds up remarkably well to newer competition regarding image quality. Its full-frame sensor handles noise well in low light and has plenty of dynamic range for high-contrast scenes like landscapes. Plus, you get extensive native and third-party lens options with Sony’s E-mount. That said, if you’re looking for slightly better build quality and ergonomics, stretching your budget a little will nab you the Nikon Z 6II, a worthy alternative if you can live with the shorter battery life and fewer lens options.

While a full-frame camera like the ones above will get you the best image quality, going with an APS-C model can be a good way to save some money. The Canon EOS R7 is one of the best APS-C cameras we’ve tested, offering well-rounded performance for hybrid shooters. It’s an especially great choice for wildlife photography, with quick burst shooting and an incredibly reliable autofocus system. However, its high-resolution sensor and IBIS make it well-suited to a wide range of photography styles.

The Fujifilm X-T4 is another fantastic all-arounder in this price range. Thanks to its compact design, it’s a great alternative if you want something more portable than the R7. However, its autofocus system isn’t as reliable as the Canon’s when tracking moving subjects. Overall, the R7 is the best mid-range camera for photography.

                See all our test results

If the Canon EOS R7 is out of your price range, consider an entry-level model like the Nikon Z 50. Like the Canon, it uses an APS-C sensor, so it’s less suited to low-light photography than our full-frame picks above. However, it performs admirably in low light for a crop sensor camera and offers plenty for both beginners and more advanced users.

For one thing, it’s one of the most well-built and comfortable entry-level cameras we’ve tested, with a weather-sealed body and generous handgrip. Its large viewfinder gives you a clear view of your subject, and the camera has a highly intuitive user interface that’s accessible to newcomers. Battery life isn’t amazing, however, so if you’d prefer a longer-lasting battery, the Sony α6400 is better. The Sony also has slightly better autofocus, but the ergonomics and user interface leave much to be desired.

The Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark IV is the best budget model we’ve tested for photography. It’s the only option on this list with a smaller Micro Four Thirds sensor, and while that does mean a bit of a trade-off in low-light capability, it’s still an excellent little camera that offers a ton of value for its price. There’s also a wide selection of lenses available for the Micro Four Thirds system, making it a versatile option to grow your skills if you’re just starting in photography.

The camera is also super portable, with a compact design making it easy to take on the go. Plus, it’s one of the few budget cameras to feature in-body image stabilization, which can help you shoot at slower shutter speeds handheld. Though it doesn’t have the most reliable autofocus, it has a quick burst rate for action photos and solid overall image quality. The Canon EOS M50 Mark II is a good alternative if you want a larger sensor and better autofocus, but lens options are much more limited.

If you thought high-quality photography was reserved only for large interchangeable lens cameras, think again. The Fujifilm X100V proves that point-and-shoots still have something to offer in the age of smartphone photography. This premium compact camera has the same 26-megapixel APS-C sensor as flagship models like the Fujifilm X-T4. Its design also hearkens back to vintage rangefinder cameras, with a hybrid electronic/optical viewfinder offset from the center of the body. As if that wasn’t enough, the package is tied together by an excellent 35mm full-frame equivalent prime lens, which is versatile enough for different photography styles.

It isn’t the smallest point-and-shoot but compact enough for travel or street photography. The Sony RX100 VII is a great, more portable alternative if you need something smaller. It even has a zoom lens if you prefer to have more flexibility with framing. However, it uses a smaller one-inch sensor, so image quality isn’t as good as the Fuji. If you’re after portability and image quality, the RICOH GR III is a street photographer’s dream and another worthy alternative—as long as you don’t mind giving up a viewfinder and tilting screen.

              • Canon EOS 5D Mark IV:
The Canon EOS 5D Mark IV is a high-end full-frame DSLR popular among professionals and hobbyists thanks to its impressive image quality and robust weather-sealed construction. However, it’s an older model now and lacks features like IBIS and the more reliable AF tracking you get with newer mirrorless cameras like the Canon EOS R6 Mark II.

              • Fujifilm X-S10:
The Fujifilm X-S10 is a great lower mid-range option that rivals the Nikon Z 50 in terms of build quality and ergonomics but also includes in-body image stabilization. However, it’s a bit more expensive and has a smaller viewfinder and a less reliable autofocus system.

Which Is The No 1 Best Camera In The World? – Worlds Best Camera Revealed

There are hundreds of thousands of cameras on the market but this article is going to answer the question, “Which is the No 1 camera in the world?”

There are many factors that would need to be incorporated to decide what is the “best” camera in the world. Each genre of photography utilizes different aspects of a camera and each photographer appreciates certain aspects more than others. However, if we discuss just one aspect such as camera sensors, then it becomes a little easier to determine. Most camera brands submit their cameras, lenses, and sensors to rigorous testing to several different outlets who then give those items scores and ranks, much like wines are given scores.

Which is the No 1 camera in the world?

There are two ways to go about figuring out the #1 camera in the world. I talked to experts and did research. One resource for finding the number 1 camera in the world is dxomark.com who currently rank the Hasselblad X1D-50c (Medium Format 50MP) as the best sensor with a score of 102.

Given that the price of this camera is expensive and it is a medium format, it is likely that only a serious professional with specialized needs and a large budget will be buying this camera. If you are interested though, please view it on Amazon to check the current price.

Most consumers are buying either full-frame or APS-C cameras. The highest scoring full-frames are all tied at 100, including the Panasonic Lumix DC-S1R 47.3MP, the Nikon D850 45.7MP, the Sony A7R III 42.4MP, and the Nikon Z7II 45.75MP.

Which is the No 1 camera in the world?

              Canon EOS R5

The number 1 camera in the world is subjective. However, upon talking to an expert they gave me this statement. “I like the Canon EOS R5 for several reasons. The Canon brand is the #1 camera brand in the world and the Canon EOS R5 is their best product. Some similar cameras like the EOS R and EOS 5D are great but the Canon EOS R5 is the best of both worlds. It’s a camera for professionals and not amateurs because it has qualities like 1,053 Automatic AF Zones, 5.76 Million Dots for OLED Resolution, CMOS Sensor of 45 MP, and can shoot in 3 formats (8K, 4K, Full HD). It’s one of the best cameras for photographers who shoot stills, hybrids, or make videos. One person said

As a stills only user, the R5 is the best camera I’ve owned. It lets me do sports, portraiture and landscapes successfully in one body.”

While it is is great, the price is high which positions it as an investment only for serious photographers. Due to its high quality OLED resolution, frame rate, and extensive video capabilities, this camera stands up to the name as the no. 1 camera in the world. The in body image stabilization on this camera is amazing so it takes away some of the natural shaking you get from your hand.”

I believe that this is no. 1 camera in the world and it’s available for purchase online now. If you are a serious photographer or have the budget to buy this camera, I would highly recommend it!

Best Camera In The World – Drawbacks

If you are going to use this camera for wide angle video too, then the image stabilization feature of this camera makes your look a little bad. The way you can fix this is by shooting with a Canon RF 15-35mm lens and turn off image stabilization.

Another drawback is that this camera sometimes overheats. It’s never completely overheated on me but it can get warm after a lot of use.

              1. Panasonic Lumix DC-S1R 47.3MP

              2. Nikon D85045.7 MP

              3. Sony A7R III 42.4MP

              4. Nikon Z7II 45.75MP

This is also where the “best”camera becomes more subjective. Some of these cameras are DSLR mirrored cameras and some are mirrorless cameras. The difference between mirrored and mirrorless is just a mechanical one that has no effect on image quality, but many people prefer mirrorless because of its smaller overall size and lighter weight.

Some photographers might prefer the larger megapixel count of the Nikon D850, or they might prefer the Sony A7R III because of its autofocus capabilities which make it a beast for sports photography. Or a photographer might even drop all the way down to around $500-600 for the Canon EOS R3 24.1MP sensor which scored a 96 because that camera has the “best” low-light capabilities.

              5. Nikon D850

              6. Sony A7R III

              7. Canon EOS R3 24.1MP

              Best Full Frame Cameras

The cameras in the full-frame category are all around the $3000 price range. Many consumers cannot afford a full frame so they will want an APS-C (or crop sensor) camera instead.

The top or “best” sensors in this category are tied with a score of 87. They are the Nikon D720024.2MP ($1200) and the Samsung NX500 28MP ($800). The Canon EOS 5DS also falls in this category with a score of 87, but its price is still a whopping $3700.

              8. Nikon D720024.2MP

              9. Samsung NX500 28MP

The main point I try to get across is that almost any current camera (last 5-6 years and in some cases even older) is capable of producing high-quality, professional images. Your skill as a photographer and the lenses you use are at least of equal, if not of more importance than the camera. The old saying “the best camera is the one you have in your hands” really does hold true. There are people who are making art and phenomenal images with their smartphones. The best smartphone onDXO Mark is the Apple iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max with a score of 137. However this score is in comparison to other smartphones NOT compared to a DSLR. The score of 137 does not mean an iPhone takes better photos than the Hasselblad.

Which smartphone has the best camera for photography in 2023 – Top 10

Engineering thought has reached the ceiling – further improvement of cameras is objectively impossible without a radical change in the design of the smartphone itself. All flagship models are equipped with almost ideal, from a technical point of view, modules, and in order to determine the winner, you will have to go an alternative way.

💚 BY TOPIC: Why does the iPhone have 3 cameras: what is each one for and how to switch?

As smartphone users race to fill their file storages and social media accounts with photos of cats, landscapes and themselves, engineers are puzzled over how to improve already excellent cameras. Moreover, the competition among the latter is even tougher, because the struggle is not for likes, but for millions of dollars of potential profit for the company.

A few years ago, looking at the results of the cameras of the flagship devices of Apple, Samsung and other A-brands, it seemed that the evolution of these modules was about to stop. High-quality, “silent” photos even in low light conditions, ultra-fast autofocus, optical stabilization when shooting video – what more? However, there is no limit to perfection, the emergence of new features and improvements depends solely on user demand.

By spring, most of the leading vendors have already pleased the public with announcements and releases of fresh flagship smartphone models, which means we can sum up intermediate results. In this article, we will consider the 10 best camera phones as of 2023.

All of the smartphones below are the best for 2023 for taking photos and videos. For most users, the difference in the quality of the cameras below will be almost imperceptible. However, narrowly focused specialists can still prioritize, highlighting the advantages and disadvantages of a particular model. This rating is based on data from DxOMark experts and other reputable resources.

Which smartphone has the best camera – Top 10 in 2023

              10th place. Vivo X90 Pro+

This smartphone is a significant step forward for the manufacturer, because it is almost the first on the market to receive the new flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, as well as a 1-inch sensor in the main camera module. As with the company’s previous flagships, Zeiss lens coating is used here. The smartphone camera allows you to take well-exposed images even in low light conditions. Night shot of Vivo X90 Pro+ offers a fairly wide dynamic range and a high level of detail while keeping noise levels under control.

The camera’s shortcomings include slow autofocus, inaccurate dark skin tones, and some artifacts. There is also no zero shutter lag, which makes it difficult to shoot moving subjects. You can capture details from a distance of less than 10 centimeters, while the camera automatically switches to macro mode.

Exposure is accurate in most lighting conditions, both portraits and landscapes work well. But it is worth noting the lack of contrast in conditions of strong backlight. Colors are generally pleasing, white balance is acceptable, albeit slightly cold, but saturation is well controlled. The noise is fine-grained, which gives it a natural look.

              Main features:

              • Main camera: 50 MP 1-inch sensor, f/1.75, AF, OIS.
              • Ultra Wide: 48 MP, f/2.2, AF.
              • Tele: 50 MP, f/1.6, OIS.
              • Tele: 64MP, f/3.5, AF, OIS.

              9th place. Xiaomi 12S Ultra

Xiaomi is not shy about challenging market leaders and creating expensive and really high-quality devices. When creating flagships, you can not ignore the functionality of the cameras. Xiaomi 12S Ultra is not just the top of the line, it is something ultimate and clearly premium. The camera block itself is very large, it occupies at least a third of the rear panel. Xiaomi engineers placed four modules here, in the area of cameras the smartphone turned out to be quite thick (15 mm):

              • Sony IMX989 50.3 MP wide-angle camera, ¾-inch sensor, the largest in the industry. Eight low reflective aspherical lens. f/1.9 aperture, 23mm equivalent focal length. Binning of four pixels down to 3.2 µm, resulting in a resolution of 12 MP.
              • Ultra wide-angle camera, Sony IMX586, 48MP resolution, 1.6µm pixels, f/2.2, 13mm EGF. Autofocus, macro capability.
              • Telephoto lens, Sony IMX586, resolution 48 MP, EFR 120 mm, optical zoom 5x, f/4. 1.
              • TOF camera, 0.3 MP.
              • Front camera, 32 MP.

The large size of the main camera’s sensor allows the use of hardware capabilities on a par with software. The sensor gives an increased dynamic range, better microcontrast. The wide-angle camera turned out to be excellent, working with it is a pleasure. She creates great pictures. The camera actively works with HDR, but sometimes the colors even turn out to be oversaturated. It is possible to shoot in RAW.

💚 BY TOPIC: What is the difference between JPG and JPEG?

              8th place. Xiaomi 13 Pro

In tests, this camera performs well, demonstrating bright pleasant colors, good detail both in photo mode and when shooting video. The camera can produce high-quality images at close to medium distances, and captures still subjects with a wide dynamic range even in low light.

Camera Xiaomi 13 Pro has a hardware component similar to Xiaomi 12S Ultra, but there are several fundamental differences. The same 1-inch 50-megapixel sensor is noteworthy, but the telephoto lens is different. Xiaomi 13 Pro does not use a periscope design, and the focal length is shorter, which helps to collect light better. The camera is assisted by the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, lens and color settings from Leica.

The large sensor keeps you close to the top of the rankings, although some drawbacks include unnatural contrast in backlit conditions, poor texture-to-noise ratio, and video exposure and focus.

              Key specs:

              • Primary: 50 MP, F/1.9, Dual Pixel PDAF, OIS.
              • Ultra wide angle: 50 MP, f/2.2, autofocus.
              • Telephoto: 50 MP, F/2.0, PDAF.

💚 BY TOPIC: How important is the number of megapixels in a smartphone camera.

7th place. iPhone 13 Pro / iPhone 13 Pro Max

Apple’s flagships invariably stand out for their photo capabilities, because where optics fail, software algorithms help. Both older models of the Apple line in 2021 received the same camera module. Compared to its predecessors, the main camera received a larger sensor and a faster aperture. The ultra-wide retained the same size of the matrix, but the aperture changed for the better and PDAF autofocus appeared. The telephoto lens now has 3x zoom, compared to 2x on the iPhone 12 Pro.

              • Main lens : 12 MP, f/1.5, 26mm equivalent, OIS, 1.9µm pixel size, Dual Pixel AF.
              • Ultra Wide Angle Lens : 12 MP, f/1.8 13mm equivalent, PDAF, 2cm Macro.
              • Telephoto lens : 12 MP, f/2.8 aperture, 77mm equivalent, optical image stabilization.

The cameras in iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max provide accurate and repeatable exposures. White balance is formed correctly, colors and tones are natural even in difficult conditions. But this is the corporate identity of all iPhones. The camera’s autofocus is accurate and fast, and the pictures are well detailed. Despite the apparent lag behind competitors in terms of equipment, Apple was able to approach software image processing as efficiently as possible.

              6th place. Samsung S23 Ultra

Samsung flagships traditionally take bright and juicy photos, sometimes they are even reproached for unnatural color reproduction. The main module has a huge resolution, but by default, pictures are taken with a resolution of 12 megapixels. Smart algorithms shrink the image to a reasonable size, improving detail at the expense of the base.

Two zoom modules, 3x and 10x, provide new possibilities for creativity. It is possible to use even a digital 100x zoom, but this is needed more for approaching a distant object and studying it than for a full-fledged shot.

Altogether, four versatile modules make the Samsung S23 Ultra a real compact and powerful camera. The shots come out alive, there are many opportunities for creativity – you can switch to manual mode and experiment with fine-tuning the camera. All camera functions work at a consistently high level, which makes the smartphone a truly versatile tool. Autofocus is especially good for video.

The almost perfect device can only be reproached for working in poor lighting conditions: detail is lost, the shutter is released more slowly. Exposure and focus are unstable, especially in backlight. In bright sunlight, color content lacks nuance.

              Main camera with 4 modules:

              • Main camera: 200 MP, 0. 6 μm, F1.7, multi-directional PDAF, OIS
              • Ultra Wide: 12 MP, F2.2, 1.4 μm
              • Telephoto: 10 MP, OIS, F2.4, 1.12 μm, x3.9 optical zoom0058
              • Telephoto 10 MP, OIS, F4.9, 1.12μm, optical zoom x10
              • Space Zoom, Hybrid Optic Zoom 5X, Super Resolution Zoom up to 100X, 8K video recording

Front Camera: 12 MP, Dual Pixel PDAF, Bokeh Effect, Various Advanced Effects, Auto Focus

5th place. Honor Magic 4 Ultimate

The Honor brand is a subsidiary of Huawei. Therefore, we can expect that the manufacturer’s models will receive some interesting “big brother” technologies. Honor wants to prove to everyone that the company is not limited to the release of state employees. An example of this is the model Honor Magic 4 Ultimate. There was a place for the mention of magic in the name, and the visually huge camera module on the rear panel hints that this is not just a design element. Here are the specifications of the camera system:

              • Main camera: 50 MP, f/1.6 aperture, 1/1.12-inch sensor, 1.4µm pixels, 23mm equivalent focal length, OIS.
              • Ultra Wide: 64 MP, f/3.5 aperture, 1/2.0-inch sensor, 0.7µm pixels, OIS.
              • Telephoto: 64 MP, f/3.5 aperture, 1/2.0-inch sensor, 3.5x optical zoom, 90mm equivalent focal length, OIS.
              • Wide: 50 MP, f/2.0 aperture, 1/2.5-inch sensor.

Following the fashion set by Samsung, Honor uses a periscope-style lens that provides 3.5x optical zoom and up to 100x digital zoom. The cameras have received intelligent control, in dark scenes the main camera is activated, not the telephoto. Night mode performs well, the smartphone successfully maintains balance, controlling the light sources in the scene to form a realistic picture.

This smartphone also has a flicker sensor and a spread spectrum sensor to improve performance even in difficult conditions. The camera system in Honor Magic 4 Ultimate is really impressive – you just need to point the camera at the object, press the button and get a great photo.

              4th place. Huawei P50 Pro

Huawei successfully proves that its flagships are practically in no way inferior to the top models of Apple and Samsung. This also applies to the capabilities of the cameras.

              • Main lens : 50 MP (photo resolution 12.5 MP), f/1.8, 23mm equivalent, OIS
              • monochrome sensor : 40 MP (reduced to 10 MP by pixel binning), f/1. 6 aperture, 26mm equivalent.
              • Telephoto : 64 MP (16 MP out), f/3.5 90mm equivalent, OIS
              • Ultra Wide Lens : 13MP, f/2.2 13mm equivalent.
              • Front camera : 40 MP, 0.7 µm pixel size (1.4 µm in Nonacell mode), f/2.2 aperture.

In this smartphone, Huawei returned to the use of a monochrome sensor together with the main one, which was last implemented back in 2018 on the P20 Pro. The monochrome sensor enhances fine detail and reduces noise, especially in low light. It also allows you to better assess the depth of the scene when creating the bokeh effect.

The main and wide-angle cameras offer low noise and wide dynamic range in all conditions. White balance is accurate and natural. At medium and long distances indoors and in daylight, there is good detail. Huawei P50 Pro performed well when shooting stationary objects, as well as working with zoom. And when shooting at night, even without a flash, a good exposure is selected in the images, both for the face and for the background.

3rd place. Honor Magic 5 Pro

From a hardware point of view, the Honor Magic 5 Pro camera is very similar to last year. Improvements in shooting capabilities can be attributed to the upgrade to the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, updated software, and optimized settings. At the same time, unlike many other competitors, the Honor flagship did without a large 1-inch sensor. But thanks to the fast aperture aperture is impressive.

The advantages of the camera include excellent zoom, wide dynamic range, good detail with low noise, fast and accurate autofocus. Honor magic 5 Pro accurately reproduces colors, chooses the right exposure in night shooting. In bokeh mode, the subject is well isolated.

Among the shortcomings, you can cancel the limited depth of field for complex and group scenes, instability of focus in bokeh mode, not always natural skin tones, limited dynamic range in preview mode.

              Main features:

              • Main unit: 50-megapixel 1/1.12″ sensor, f/1.6 lens, autofocus, optical image stabilization.
              • Ultra wide module: 50MP sensor, f/2.0 lens, 122° field of view.
              • Tele: 50 megapixel sensor, f/3.0 lens, 3.5x telephoto lens, OIS.
              • Video: Up to 4K resolution at 60 fps.

💚 BY TOPIC: How to shoot group photos on iPhone – tips from professionals.

2nd place. Huawei Mate 50 Pro

The camera set of this smartphone is generally typical for a flagship. And most importantly, what the Huawei Mate 50 Pro camera pays attention to is the variable aperture. In cameras, it allows you to sharpen the picture, get more information in overexposed areas. But there, the aperture range is wider, in the case of this smartphone, this is still more of a marketing story. Moreover, the budget level f / 2.0-f / 2.5 is selected on the machine. But the f / 1.4 aperture allows you to take excellent night shots with minimum ISO values at a fast shutter speed. In most typical situations, photos come out really high quality.

The wide-angle camera gives excellent image quality and can shoot macro from a distance of 3 centimeters. The telephoto can zoom up to 3.5x, but the low aperture hints that it is better to do this in good lighting conditions. Video recording is carried out with high quality, both indoors and outdoors.

The front camera is also good, giving stable still image performance: focus, noise level, shutter speed.

            2. 13MP ultra-wide-angle module (f/2. 2 aperture), 13mm, autofocus.
            3. Telephoto module 64 MP (f / 3.5 aperture, OIS), 95 mm, autofocus.
            4. 💚 BY TOPIC: Negative space in photography: what is it and how to use it?

              1 seat. iPhone 14 Pro / 14 Pro Max

The Pro line in the iPhone traditionally outperforms the mainstream models primarily in shooting capabilities. Three modules + LiDAR scanner in the iPhone 14 Pro / 14 Pro Max versus a pair of cameras in the iPhone 14 is a serious advantage. But the iPhone 14 Pro line also received a notable upgrade from last year’s model.

              • Main camera, 48 MP, f/1.78 seven-element lens, second-generation OIS.
              • 12 MP ultra-wide camera, 1.4 µm pixel, f/2.2, 120-degree field of view, six-element lens.
              • Telephoto, 12 MP, optical stabilization, 3x optical zoom, f/2.8.

Although the performance of the cameras is not particularly impressive on paper, it is not the number of megapixels that is more important, but the performance of the technology. Apple, on the other hand, has long shown itself to be a leader in computational photography, the company’s smart algorithms and powerful processor really work wonders. It is no coincidence that even professional photographers use the iPhone 14 Pro / 14 Pro Max in their work. For example, macro can be shot from a distance of 2 centimeters, moreover, even in slow motion video.

Smart HDR 4 technology and Neural Engine help to avoid skewed lighting even in complex scenes. And the Night mode in the iPhone is generally almost the standard in the industry, which competitors are equal to. Apple offers many interesting modes for its cameras that turn shooting into a real photo and film art.

In addition, the front camera of the iPhone 14 Pro / 14 Pro Max is also considered the best camera in the industry.

Best Camera Smartphone of 2022 named

A total of 16 devices were tested. iPhone 14 Pro didn’t even make it into the top five.

YouTube’s most popular tech blogger Marques Brownlee conducted a massive test of the flagship cameras of 2022. 16 smartphones participated in testing. Photos were taken “blindly”: without prior adjustment. In total, the experts took three shots for each device: objective, portrait and low-light photos.

Brownlee then created a website where he posted the photos, but did not specify which device the footage belongs to. Netizens had to vote for the best photos they thought. In total, 21.2 million votes were collected.

              Results

Many expected the iPhone 14 Pro Max to win. This is wrong. Surprisingly, the “apple” flagship overtook even mid-budget devices, for example, Realme 10 Pro +.

Pros
  • Compact without sacrificing large screen
  • Innovative design with customization
  • Impressive display
Cons
  • Minimal improvements to camera

If you want a smartphone packaged in a flip phone’s body, Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip 4 is the best option.

It doesn’t come cheap, but the phone itself is gorgeous. It’s compact, with a slimmer bezel than the Flip3, while still accommodating an impressive 6.7-inch screen. The Galaxy Z Flip4 also has a more powerful 3,700-mAh battery and 25-watt fast-charging than its predecessor.

Special features are pretty nifty, which include the ability to view multiple screens at the same time and to customize the cover screen to your liking with things like your most-used apps and calendar reminders.

The flip phone’s camera is solid, with 12-MP wide and 12-MP ultra-wide lenses and a 10-MP front lens, though these aren’t significantly better than the Flip3’s and are nothing to write home about.

How We Chose the Best Flip Phones for Seniors

When testing out a range of flip phone options, we looked for the following features:

7 Best Distraction Flip Phones

Whether you’re looking to simplify, save money, or ditch buying a phone with features you don’t need, there are plenty of reasons to stick with a flip phone. Perhaps you just have a contract with the carrier and you want to fulfill it.

Whatever your reason, you’ve already decided you don’t have a smartphone. So let’s move on to the next question. What is the best flip phone you can get in the US right now?

The answer to this question has to do with which carrier you use for service. Let’s break it down by carrier first and then look at unlocked phones.

Best T-Mobile Mobile Phone: Alcatel GO FLIP

Unfortunately, the Alcatel GO FLIP doesn’t have particularly positive customer reviews. But for now, it’s the only flip phone available on T-Mobile’s website. This makes it the de facto best. You also get 4G LTE and 4GB of internal storage, which is plenty for this type of device. The 2.8-inch screen is also on the larger side.

Why go with T-Mobile?

T-Mobile gives you the most options. Because it’s a network, you can use the same SIM card with different phones without having to visit the carrier’s store.

Cellular carriers make it easy to connect a phone over the Internet with reasonable confidence that it will work. Unlike AT&T, T-Mobile also supports 2G devices. This is important when you start considering unlocked phones.

The Cingular Flip 2 comes with 4G LTE and Wi-Fi, making it the perfect choice if you want an AT&T flip phone with maximum connectivity. You get a large 2.8-inch screen, 4GB of storage, large buttons, and ample battery life. Does this sound familiar? This is due to the fact that Cingular Flip 2 is an updated version of Alcatel GO FLIP.

Why go with AT&T?

AT&T is the second largest cellular network in the US, but it is the largest GSM network. This means that if you want to be able to insert your SIM card from one phone to another, the AT&T network is the most common option in the US.

Verizon’s Best Flip Phone: LG Exalt LTE

The LG Exalt LTE is Verizon’s sleek flip phone that dates back to the heyday of the form factor. The 3-inch screen is big enough for caller ID and texts, and the 5-megapixel camera is big enough for a flip phone. This device is thin, like a smartphone, but does not take up as much space in your pocket.

Why go with Verizon?

Verizon offers the largest cellular network in the US. It is also the most expensive. But as the operator with the best reception in the countryside, it offers a relatively large selection of flip phones. If you want one that you can take across the country, out of state, and out of cities without worrying about coverage, you’ll need Verizon.

Other Verizon options:

Since Verizon is not a GSM carrier, the unlocked devices listed below will not work with it. But you are not without a choice. If you’re looking for a sturdier device, consider the Kyocera DuraXV, which comes in camera and non-camera options. Also, you can snag the Sonim XP5 if the Kyocera DuraXV still doesn’t look sturdy enough.

Unlocked Phones

You may stick with flip phones out of habit or because you have a valid contract. But if you want to save money, switching to an unlocked device is really the best way to go. This gives you the freedom to transfer your phone from one carrier to another, as long as it has the necessary bandwidths. Often, you can get a prepaid plan that will cost less money over time. cut costs on cut costs on , since the cost of your device is not paid.

Punkt MP01

From a technical standpoint, the Punkt phone is not frivolous or particularly cheap, and is arguably the most advanced basic phone available today. The Swiss company has given users the ability to make calls and send texts without sacrificing style.

The interface is also simpler than any other phone on this list. It uses the 2G network, which is still widely used around the world, but limits the T-Mobile phone in the US.

Samsung Galaxy Folder 2

If you don’t mind smartphones but prefer the clamshell form factor, you’re out of luck. Samsung Folder 2 is a clamshell phone that runs Android. You will get a 480×800 display on a 3.8-inch screen. The phone comes with Android 6.0.

Easyfone Prime A1

Just want a good old flip phone for a family member? The Easyfone Prime A1 comes with big buttons and large fonts both on and off the screen. However, you might be surprised to know that this phone has both a music player and a built-in FM radio. There is also a dedicated SOS button for emergencies.

By the way, if you can’t find a flip phone that fits your needs, don’t necessarily rule out smartphones.
