  • 8 GB of storage and 2-MP rear-facing camera
  • Sleek design and raised, oversized keys

Pros
  • Compact without sacrificing large screen
  • Innovative design with customization
  • Impressive display
Cons
  • Minimal improvements to camera

If you want a smartphone packaged in a flip phone’s body, Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip 4 is the best option.

It doesn’t come cheap, but the phone itself is gorgeous. It’s compact, with a slimmer bezel than the Flip3, while still accommodating an impressive 6.7-inch screen. The Galaxy Z Flip4 also has a more powerful 3,700-mAh battery and 25-watt fast-charging than its predecessor.

Special features are pretty nifty, which include the ability to view multiple screens at the same time and to customize the cover screen to your liking with things like your most-used apps and calendar reminders.

The flip phone’s camera is solid, with 12-MP wide and 12-MP ultra-wide lenses and a 10-MP front lens, though these aren’t significantly better than the Flip3’s and are nothing to write home about.

Cons
  • Battery isn’t as powerful as the one in the Flip4

How We Chose the Best Flip Phones for Seniors

When testing out a range of flip phone options, we looked for the following features:

  • Long battery life: Unlike smartphones, which usually need a daily charge, flip phones can last days – and in some cases, weeks – without requiring additional charging. All of the phones on this list lasted us for at least one week in terms of standby time.
  • Smart features: Many of our favorite flip phones offered advanced features normally relegated to smartphones, including internet access, app stores, and even medical alert capabilities.
  • Affordability: In addition to simplicity, the low cost of flip phones is a big draw. All of the phones on this list cost $200 or less.

7 Best Distraction Flip Phones

Whether you’re looking to simplify, save money, or ditch buying a phone with features you don’t need, there are plenty of reasons to stick with a flip phone. Perhaps you just have a contract with the carrier and you want to fulfill it.

Whatever your reason, you’ve already decided you don’t have a smartphone. So let’s move on to the next question. What is the best flip phone you can get in the US right now?

The answer to this question has to do with which carrier you use for service. Let’s break it down by carrier first and then look at unlocked phones.

Best T-Mobile Mobile Phone: Alcatel GO FLIP

Unfortunately, the Alcatel GO FLIP doesn’t have particularly positive customer reviews. But for now, it’s the only flip phone available on T-Mobile’s website. This makes it the de facto best. You also get 4G LTE and 4GB of internal storage, which is plenty for this type of device. The 2.8-inch screen is also on the larger side.

Why go with T-Mobile?

T-Mobile gives you the most options. Because it’s a network, you can use the same SIM card with different phones without having to visit the carrier’s store.

Cellular carriers make it easy to connect a phone over the Internet with reasonable confidence that it will work. Unlike AT&T, T-Mobile also supports 2G devices. This is important when you start considering unlocked phones.

The Cingular Flip 2 comes with 4G LTE and Wi-Fi, making it the perfect choice if you want an AT&T flip phone with maximum connectivity. You get a large 2.8-inch screen, 4GB of storage, large buttons, and ample battery life. Does this sound familiar? This is due to the fact that Cingular Flip 2 is an updated version of Alcatel GO FLIP.

Why go with AT&T?

AT&T is the second largest cellular network in the US, but it is the largest GSM network. This means that if you want to be able to insert your SIM card from one phone to another, the AT&T network is the most common option in the US.

Verizon’s Best Flip Phone: LG Exalt LTE

The LG Exalt LTE is Verizon’s sleek flip phone that dates back to the heyday of the form factor. The 3-inch screen is big enough for caller ID and texts, and the 5-megapixel camera is big enough for a flip phone. This device is thin, like a smartphone, but does not take up as much space in your pocket.

Why go with Verizon?

Verizon offers the largest cellular network in the US. It is also the most expensive. But as the operator with the best reception in the countryside, it offers a relatively large selection of flip phones. If you want one that you can take across the country, out of state, and out of cities without worrying about coverage, you’ll need Verizon.

Other Verizon options:

Since Verizon is not a GSM carrier, the unlocked devices listed below will not work with it. But you are not without a choice. If you’re looking for a sturdier device, consider the Kyocera DuraXV, which comes in camera and non-camera options. Also, you can snag the Sonim XP5 if the Kyocera DuraXV still doesn’t look sturdy enough.

Unlocked Phones

You may stick with flip phones out of habit or because you have a valid contract. But if you want to save money, switching to an unlocked device is really the best way to go. This gives you the freedom to transfer your phone from one carrier to another, as long as it has the necessary bandwidths. Often, you can get a prepaid plan that will cost less money over time. cut costs on cut costs on , since the cost of your device is not paid.

Punkt MP01

From a technical standpoint, the Punkt phone is not frivolous or particularly cheap, and is arguably the most advanced basic phone available today. The Swiss company has given users the ability to make calls and send texts without sacrificing style.

The interface is also simpler than any other phone on this list. It uses the 2G network, which is still widely used around the world, but limits the T-Mobile phone in the US.

Samsung Galaxy Folder 2

If you don’t mind smartphones but prefer the clamshell form factor, you’re out of luck. Samsung Folder 2 is a clamshell phone that runs Android. You will get a 480×800 display on a 3.8-inch screen. The phone comes with Android 6.0.

Easyfone Prime A1

Just want a good old flip phone for a family member? The Easyfone Prime A1 comes with big buttons and large fonts both on and off the screen. However, you might be surprised to know that this phone has both a music player and a built-in FM radio. There is also a dedicated SOS button for emergencies.

By the way, if you can’t find a flip phone that fits your needs, don’t necessarily rule out smartphones.
