DisplayPort to HDMI/DVI/VGA conversion is deceptively complex because the two standards use different electrical signaling. DisplayPort comes in two versions—”Dual Mode” DisplayPort (DP++), which allows the port to actually switch its electrical signaling to a different format, and “pure” DisplayPort (DP), which is intended for DisplayPort monitors without any conversion.
Passive adapters rely entirely upon DP++ functionality to produce the appropriate output signal. In other words, passive adapters do not work when connected to a regular DisplayPort port (only supported through a DP++ port).
Active adapters on the other hand contain extra components that perform the necessary signaling conversion on their own, so they do not have the same reliance on a DP++ port as a passive adapter would. In other words, active adapters are more flexible and can be used on either a pure DisplayPort output or a DP++ port. To hit the point home, passive adapters only work through DP++ ports.

Most Windows notebook computers power management settings will default to putting the computer to sleep with the lid closed, regardless of any external displays, keyboard, or mouse connected to the computer. If this is happening but you would prefer the system to remain active with the lid closed utilizing the external display or displays, these settings can be changed by performing the following:
For Windows 10:
Start by right-clicking on the Start button and select Power Options from the menu.
From the right side of the Power Options settings page, select the blue link for Additional power settings
From the choices present on the left-hand side of the Power Options window, please click on Choose what closing the lid does
Make sure the setting for When I close the lid under the Plugged In column is set to Do Nothing
Click the Save Changes button and restart the system (making sure that the laptop’s power adapter is also connected) and test the behavior again.
For Windows 11:
Start by right-clicking on the Start button and select Power Options from the menu.
In the upper left corner of the settings window, in the search box, type “lid” then select Change what closing the lid does from the search results
Make sure the setting for When I close the lid under the Plugged In column is set to Do Nothing
Click the Save Changes button to apply the new settings.
Closing the lid should no longer put the computer into sleep mode when an external display and power source is connected, instead one of the external displays should now become the Primary display with the desktop icons instead of the laptop’s built-in display.
The lid may still need to be opened to perform the following tasks:
To power on the computer from a fully powered off state
To log into the computer if logged out or if the computer is restarted with the lid closed
To wake the computer from a deep sleep state ( hibernation, or Windows hybrid sleep states )

Google probably isn’t the first name that comes to mind when you think of home audio but the company changed that with its Google Home lineup (which it has since replaced with the Google Nest line of smart home products). Even though they’re technically speakers, it’s hard to say that the Nest Mini (formerly the Home Mini) was made for listening to music. They’re more for asking questions to the Google Assistant and maybe controlling your smart home appliances every now and then. That isn’t the case with the Google Home Max. This speaker is big, it’s beautifully designed, and what sets it apart from the rest of the line-up is that it was meant for music listening. The Google Home Max is officially discontinued now but if you can get one on sale, is it worth it?
Editor’s note: this Google Home Max review was updated on April 27, 2021, to address its discontinued status, add context to the sound quality section, include a content menu, and add information about the Amazon Echo (4th Gen).
Who should get the Google Home Max?
People in the Google ecosystem. If you have a Chromecast you can ask your speaker to cast to your TV without ever picking up your remote. The same goes for YouTube and YouTube Music.
Anyone who actively uses Google voice search. If you’re like me and need to be reminded of basic facts throughout the day, the Google Assistant still gives the best answers out of any personal assistant and it’s only getting better with time.
Not for Apple Music subscribers. Apple Music doesn’t support the Google Cast protocol like YouTube Music, Spotify, etc. So if you want to stream your Apple Music library you’re going to have to lifehack your way there.
What’s it like to use the Google Home Max?
The small lights behind the fabric light up when you speak or adjust playback.
When it comes to setting up a home audio system, it usually requires some confusion and a bunch of cables. That’s been slowly getting better (especially with some of the more expensive options like the LG SK10Y Soundbar), but that’s not an issue at all with the Google Home Max. It only comes with one cable and that’s the power supply. Setting it up is as easy as plugging it in and opening up the Google Home app. It’s very similar to how easy Sonos makes setting up with their app. The Google Home app walks you through step-by-step how to connect the speaker to your wireless router and get it ready for streaming. You should know that WiFi is mandatory as there is no ethernet input if you want to connect it directly to a modem.
Learn more: How do speakers work?
Once you’ve got it connected to your router then all that you need to do to connect to it is press the cast icon that pops up in the app you’re using. Most of the major streaming services, be it YouTube Music, YouTube, Netflix, Spotify, etc., have built-in functionality that will cause the button to pop up automatically in the app. But what makes the Home Max a smart speaker is that you can speak to it. If you don’t feel like browsing through your phone to find that new Childish Gambino song, you can just ask the Home Max to play Feels Like Summer thanks to tiny built-in microphones. Unfortunately, you can’t say “Yo Google” just yet, but “Okay Google” or “Hey Google” work just fine.
The Google Home Max has an acoustically transparent fabric that won’t get in the way of your music.
I did have some issues with the speaker hearing me when I spoke to it while music was playing, but I’ll get into that later. If you have a Google Chromecast, getting anything to play on your TV is seamless. Even pausing and playing the content is pretty quick and reliable just by telling the speaker to pause or resume playback. That said, browsing is basically impossible because you’re interfacing with your TV through voice. You have to know what you want to watch, and then tell the Google Home Max to cast it. Otherwise, you’ll have to reach for your phone.
Can the Google Home Max be used as a soundbar?
Technically, yes but we wouldn’t recommend it. The Google Home Max has a 3.5mm input on the back so as long as your TV has a 3.5mm output then it is possible. Connecting your TV this way will definitely make the audio louder but it doesn’t mean it’ll make your viewing experience better. A good soundbar doesn’t just sound good, it also enhances your experience. They do so either by being compatible with codecs like Dolby Atmos or DTS:X or by being part of a larger 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound setup. The Google Home Max is a great speaker but it was designed to make your music sound good not your movies.
Is the Google Home Max well-built?
The fabric is thin enough for the lights to show through clearly and also feels nice to the touch.
At first glance, you’ll notice one thing about the Google Home Max: it’s big. Even if you compare it to other smart speakers like the Amazon Echo (4th Gen) or Apple HomePod, the Home Max easily overtakes them in size. It measures 33.5 x 18.7 x 15 cm and weighs 5.3 kg, so no, it isn’t portable. This was made to be plugged into a wall and left there. As far as build materials go the housing of the speaker is just a smooth plastic that, surprisingly, doesn’t have any stains or marks on the white version we’ve been testing (it also comes in black). But the impressive part is the fabric used on the front. Google claims it’s “acoustically transparent” and while I’m sure that’s just a fancy way to say it doesn’t mess with the sound, it still at least feels nice to the touch.
Behind the fabric are four lights that only show up when you’re adjusting something on the speaker. They’ll turn off a second after you change the volume or after it’s done listening to what you said. Around back you’ll get the power supply input, a 3.5mm input, and a physical mute switch. The mute switch doesn’t stop music playback, it just turns off the microphone so it isn’t always listening for the hotword. Speaking of which, I found that the microphones on the Google Home Max aren’t too good at picking up my voice when music was playing around 75% or above. I found myself borderline yelling “Okay Google” and sometimes, even then I would just have to walk over to it and physically lower the volume.
At higher volumes, the speaker had trouble picking up the hotword.
I tested this by playing the song Havana by Camilla Cabelo at four different volumes (25, 50, 75, and 100 percent). Then I played back a recording of myself saying “Hey Google” and played it from a separate speaker at distance of 5, 10, 15, and 20 feet. Sure, this isn’t the most scientific test ever devised but it does highlight how at higher volumes the microphones on the speaker have a hard time picking up voices.
As far as design is concerned, the Google Home Max looks great wherever you decide to put it. Taking a step back from the details in build materials, one of my favorite things about the speaker is its simple and minimal design. Besides the switch on the back (which will probably be facing the wall anyway), the Google Home Max is just one block of plastic. There aren’t any knobs or buttons to take away from the smooth design which makes sense since most of the functionality can be controlled with your voice. There is just one touch sensitive area on the side of the speaker that’s responsible for volume control or pausing/playing music, but that’s it. And because you can orient the speaker vertically or horizontally that touch-sensitive bit can either be on top or on the right side. One helpful feature is that a voice will tell you when you’ve accidentally turned the speaker turned upside-down if you’re moving it.
How does the Google Home Max sound?
On the top (or the right side if vertical) is a touch-sensitive section for playback and volume.
Sound quality is where the Google Home Max sets itself apart. Google knew that if it was going to make a speaker of this size meant for listening to music, then it had to sound good. One way it decided to make that happen was by adding their own algorithms that allow the speaker to self-adjust its EQ depending on where you place it using six internal microphones. The team at Google calls this feature Smart Sound and though I can’t prove it, I can say that whether I put the speaker on top of a marble countertop or on a table in the corner of the room the sound remained consistent enough that I couldn’t tell there was a difference.
Normally, if you place a speaker in the corner the low end sounds amplified, almost like putting your smartphone in a cup. But the Google Home Max self-adjusts in order to make sure the sound stays consistent. This is good if you don’t feel like going through the trouble of EQing your music yourself, but not so good if you do because you won’t have that level of control. All you get is the basic bass and treble sliders in the Google home app.
Lows, mids, and highs
On the back are the input and a switch that lets you turn the mic off.
Because of the large size, the Google Home Max can really push some air so the low end is fairly strong just because of physics. In the song Moon River by Frank Ocean, the low E string is a little too strong for my taste, but it gives the song some grittiness and never gets in the way of his vocals in the midrange, which is what counts. Second Floor by Freelance whales were still plainly audible even with all of the other instruments joining in during the chorus at around the 2:17 mark which includes plenty of thumping drums and bells ringing throughout. Speaking of the bells, one of my only issues regarding sound quality has to do with the high frequencies. It sounds like Google played it safe here and didn’t give them the same kind of emphasis as it did with the lows, which is understandable. When was the last time you heard someone say “Drop the bells”? There isn’t much noticeable distortion at max volume, but there isn’t a ton of reverb to hi-hats and cymbals which can really help with the soundstage of your music.
Does the Google Home Max spy on you?
The Google Home speakers light up to show when they’re listening, but sometimes they might be triggered on accidentally by something that sounds similar to the hotword.
“Spying” is such a strong word. No the Google Home Max isn’t spying on you, as in, it isn’t recording your conversations and delivering them to some foreign government. That said, it is always listening. There are some privacy issues that you should be aware of before you put this thing in your bedroom. For one, some Google Home recordings in the past were leaked thanks to contractors that had access to the recordings. Basically, when the Google Home can’t understand a certain command, Google keeps the audio clip to analyze it to try and fine tune how the speaker understands regular speech.
In order to try and help the Google Assistant better understand what was said (for things like accents and different speech patterns) contractors would then listen to clips. It makes sense since anyone using a virtual assistant has at some point been misunderstood, but in practice, it means that there were actual people listening to recordings and not just algorithms. Of course, the clips are randomized and anonymous, but it’s still more than a little concerning. If you’d rather not take the chance you can always just mute the microphone thanks to the mic switch on the back. You can also turn off the sharing in the Google Assistant settings. It’s worth noting that this has happened with basically all of the major smart speakers including Apple and Amazon speakers, but that still doesn’t make it okay.
Should you buy the Google Home Max?
It’s hard to recommend a smart speaker over a dedicated home audio setup or any other Bluetooth speakers, but the Google Home Max has weaved its way into my life in a way other products haven’t. I admit, I’m already in the group of people that use a Google Home, but that’s mainly for setting alarms, timers, and asking it questions while I cook. With the Google Home Max I still do all of those things, but all while listening to music or podcasts. I think the Google Home Max is the best option for most people who wanted a loud smart speaker that sounds good but unfortunately, the Google Home Max was recently discontinued so you can’t officially buy it from Google anymore. That said, if you can get one for cheap somewhere it’s worth considering.
So what other options are there?
Running water triggers Nest Audio to increase volume levels.
With the Google Home Max being discontinued then your next best bet if you want to stay with Google is the Nest Audio speaker. It has a nice minimal design, good sound, and best of all only costs $99 USD. You can pick up two of these and pair them for stereo sound too which is nice. If you’re more invested in Amazon hardware, you should check out the Amazon Echo (4th Gen): it compares quite well to Google’s speaker.
If you like the idea of a smart speaker but also want Bluetooth so that you can bring the speaker with you when you go outside then you should check out the Sonos Move. While it’s still on the pricey side you get Bluetooth functionality as well as the entire Sonos ecosystem behind to build upon.

The Google Home Max is a small speaker that has built-in Google Assistant capabilities. It’s voice-activated, and it can pick up your voice even if you aren’t very close to the speaker. You can also mute the microphone when you don’t want it to hear you. Its balanced mid-range makes it suitable for vocal-centric content like podcasts, but it’s lacking a bit of low-bass, which can be disappointing for some music fans. On the upside, there are bass and treble adjustments available in its companion app.
Our Verdict
6.9
Music
The Google Home Max is fair for music. Its balanced mid-range can reproduce vocals and lead instruments clearly, but its underemphasized treble can make audio dull. Also, it’s lacking low-bass, which is disappointing for fans of bass-heavy music genres like EDM. It gets loud, but there’s a bit of compression at max volume. Fortunately, you can adjust its bass and treble levels.
Cons
Lacks low-bass.
6.5
Videos/Movies
The Google Home Max is adequate for videos and movies. Its balanced mid-range can reproduce dialogue clearly, but it lacks low-bass, so you don’t feel the deep thump in action-packed scenes. Also, it has a mediocre soundstage, and there’s compression when you play it at max volume. Its latency with Android and iOS devices may be too high for watching videos, but fortunately, it performs better over a Google Chromecast connection.
Pros
Bass and treble adjustments.
Low latency over Google Chromecast.
6.5
Podcasts
The Google Home Max is okay for podcasts. It has a balanced mid-range that can reproduce voices clearly and accurately. You can also stream podcasts from your phone or tablet to the bar wirelessly over Wi-Fi, and it supports multi-device pairing. Unfortunately, this speaker isn’t very portable, and it has a mediocre soundstage.
8.0
Voice Assistant
The Google Home Max is great for voice assistant. It has built-in Google Assistant, and the speaker can hear you even if you’re far away. You can also mute the microphone if you don’t want the speaker to listen to you. Unfortunately, it’s soundstage isn’t perceived as very large or directional.
Pros
Excellent far-field performance.
Built-in Google Assistant.

Compared To Other Speakers
The Google Home Max is a compact speaker with built-in Google Assistant capabilities. You can only use it when it’s plugged into an outlet, so it isn’t suitable for outdoor use. However, it’s voice-activated, and it can pick up your voice even if you’re far away from the speaker.

The Google Home Max and the Google Nest Audio are similar speakers, but the Home Max has a more versatile performance. The Home Max’s sound profile is better-balanced, and it can get louder. Also, it has lower latency over a Wi-Fi connection, so it’s a better choice for watching videos and supports multi-device pairing. That said, both speakers are great for voice assistant support.

The Google Home Max is a slightly better speaker than the Amazon Echo Studio. The Google has a better-balanced sound profile and can reproduce a bit more low-bass. It has Google Assistant built-in, and it does a better job of understanding your voice in noisy environments. It can also be paired with up to two devices at the same time, and it supports Google Chromecast. However, the Amazon has fewer compression artifacts at max volume.

The Google Home Max and the Sonos Five are two mid-size speakers with different strengths and depending on your needs, you may prefer one over the other. The Google has better controls and has an excellent-performing Google Assistant built-in. It also supports Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and Google Chromecast. However, the Sonos can produce more low-bass and has a better-balanced sound profile, which makes it better suited for music. It also supports Apple AirPlay.

The Bose Home Speaker 500 is a better speaker than the Google Home Max. The Bose is better-built and it has a better soundstage performance. Also, its voice assistant does a better job understanding you when you’re in a noisy environment. However, the Google has a more neutral sound profile out-of-the-box.

The Google Home Max and the Apple HomePod (1st generation) are two speakers with a voice assistant built-in, and you may prefer one over the other. While both speakers have a similarly balanced sound profile, the Google speaker has a companion app that lets you EQ its bass and treble and comes with Google Assistant built-in. It also supports Chromecast. However, the Apple speaker uses Siri and supports Apple AirPlay. Since it’s a 360-degree speaker, it also has an outstanding soundstage. Both speakers have been discontinued and may be difficult to find in new condition.

The Google Home Max and the Google Nest Mini both offer impressive performances for voice assistant, but the Home Max is a better choice for music and videos. Out-of-the-box, the Home Max has a better-balanced sound profile, and it can get louder. Also, it has lower latency over a Chromecast connection.

The Sony SRS-RA3000 and the Google Home Max are similar home speakers with different strengths. The Sony has a much better soundstage, and its sound profile is more customizable than the Google. That said, the Google offers excellent voice assistant support, while the Sony doesn’t have this feature.
The Google Home Max has a fairly discreet style and should fit well into most decor. However, some might find it a bit bulky, and due to its non-cylindrical design, some might prefer putting it against a wall. You can also position it vertically, but this turns the sound into mono.

The control scheme is great. You have a small tactile line at the top of the speaker that allows you to control volume and play/pause your audio content easily. You can also turn off the microphone with a physical switch located at the back of the speaker. Unfortunately, you can’t skip forward or backward with the speaker’s control scheme, but this shouldn’t matter too much as you can still do so with voice commands.

The Google Home Max’s frequency response accuracy is decent. The overall sound profile is well-balanced, although it struggles with low-bass, which can result in a lack of thump and rumble. Unfortunately, it also lacks a bit of detail in the upper treble, which might make it sound a bit dark. It’s still well-balanced overall, especially in the mid-range, which is great for vocals and dialogue. We used the Smart Sound feature that auto-calibrates the speaker to the room it’s in.

Yes (when horizontal)
The soundstage is mediocre. While it’s a stereo sound when placed horizontally, the directivity is quite poor, resulting in a soundstage that feels a bit more closed-off. The speaker automatically becomes mono whenever placed vertically, but we don’t test for this. For a smart speaker with a better soundstage, check out the Bose Home Speaker 500.

The Google Home Max’s dynamic performance is fair. It can get quite loud, which is great if you’re using it in a crowded or large environment. However, there are some compression artifacts in both the bass and treble ranges at max volume, so pushing it to its limits isn’t recommended.

Review and rating of the best smart speakers 2020 for Russian-speaking users
In the past few years, concepts such as smart home and smart technology have been rapidly gaining popularity and are being integrated into the everyday life of an increasing number of people. Smart technology is becoming more functional, easier to manage and more affordable. For example, the same smart speakers have long not only played music, but also made it possible to control lighting, temperature, household appliances and much more using simple voice commands.
Functional use of smart speakers
House control
For example, you come home, open the front door and give the voice command “I’m at home”. After that, the assistant begins to perform the actions programmed earlier: turn on the lights in the corridor and kitchen, start the coffee machine, turn on your favorite background music or TV if it’s cold, raise the temperature in the room or turn on the air conditioner. Agree, this can add a lot of comfort to your daily routine. Or the reverse scenario: leaving the house, you give the command to turn off everything and you don’t have to worry about the forgotten light or TV, while you can even turn off the floor heating or air conditioning.
Voice Assistant
A smart speaker will always help you find the information you are interested in on the Internet, tell you about the situation on the roads, the latest news in the region, the weather, help you find your mobile phone (they will send a call to it). You can easily save a reminder note, answer a call, send a message and more thanks to the voice assistant. This can also be done from the phone, but it is much more convenient from the Smart Speaker! She has a sensitive microphone that will not only hear you from a great distance, but also determine who is speaking and perform an action for this particular family member, included in the list of users in advance.
Music player
All devices with a built-in assistant have the ability to listen to your favorite music, play a movie or clip on the TV, and some smart speakers also have a screen, such as Google Hub.
Overview of the most popular manufacturers of smart speakers
Today, the most worthy manufacturers of smart speakers with voice control are 4 companies:
Google, with Google Assistant;
Amazon, with Alexa;
Yandex, with assistant Alice;
Apple with Siri.
Each assistant has its own characteristics and differences and can manage different services and devices. Next, we will consider in detail each manufacturer separately, the features of the speakers and the specifics of their management.
The only manufacturer, the fifth giant of the industry, which does not make sense to consider in this review is Amazon. Unfortunately, this assistant does not work in Belarus and in the regions closest to the country.
When choosing a smart speaker or speaker, it is important to consider the strengths and weaknesses of each assistant.
Google Assistant Voice Assistant
The first thing we advise you to pay attention to is Google Assistant and devices released with it. In our opinion, this is the most advanced system at the time of writing. Google has partnered with a large number of manufacturers that support the IFTTT protocol and allows you to control third-party devices through smart speakers.
The most famous devices on our market are Xiaomi (all sensors, cameras, vacuum cleaners, air conditioners, etc.) and Legrand, which introduced the NETATMO Cloud Smart Home this year. A smart speaker with Google Assistant can become the control center for all smart gadgets in your home and even household appliances that just have an IR receiver.
Google offers the following devices with its voice assistant:
Smart speaker Google Home
Google Home is a stylish, powerful and convenient speaker with a built-in Google Assistant, has two Hi-Fi speakers of 2″ each on independent radiators, 2 microphones, a touch control panel and a microphone mute button.
Smart speaker Google Home mini
Sold in two colors (gray and black). It is positioned as an independent device and can be the only smart speaker in the house. But we still recommend taking it as an addition to other devices. Despite the low price, the speaker has the same functionality as Google Home, but it plays much quieter.
The Google Home Mini has a touch volume control and a mute button. It is optimal to buy these miniature speakers separately for each room if you use Google Assistant to control light and climate.
Google Hub Smart Speaker
Available in 2 colors: white and black. This is one of the few speakers on the world market that has not only speakers, but also a 7″ screen. This smart speaker can not only play music, but also play YouTube movies or clips on its own. You should not take this device as a tablet, although the screen is touch-sensitive, but it’s still just a screen from which you can swipe pictures or rewind news or videos. You can only find music or a clip using voice commands.
Google Home Max smart speaker
The largest speaker in the Google family. It weighs 5.3 kg and has the best sound characteristics, the bass is especially good in it. The only drawback of this column is the price (about $570).
The
Google Home Max speaker has a 3.5 mm mini jack audio input, you can connect an external source to it, such as a TV and a USB-C connector for Ethernet connection. Volume and playback control by simply touching the case or via voice command
Google Nest Hub Max
The last device I would like to talk about. This is the second smart speaker from Google to have a screen, but here it is 10 inches! This is a full-fledged tablet in size, but, like the younger model, the functionality on the screen is greatly reduced. This smart speaker model has a camera, which made it possible to expand the functionality, it also became possible to control gestures, make video calls and use the speaker even as a surveillance camera.
The
Google Nest Hub Max is the latest in smart speakers. It was introduced to the world market in September 2019 at a price of 229 c.u. (in the USA), for our country this is still a curiosity and there is no way to buy it, but we hope that progress will reach us.
To connect all types of speakers, 220 volt power supply and WiFi connection settings through the Google Home application are enough. True, it’s not so simple, the application is not available in the Apple and Android store for the Belarus region, because Google does not officially ship its devices to Belarus and Russia. But this problem can be easily circumvented by changing the region on the phone to any country in Europe or America, which will allow you to safely download the application.
There are also some problems with the management in Russian in Google Hub and Nest Hub Max, it is not supported, in other columns the problem was recently solved, and now you can easily communicate with the assistant in Russian.
Yandex voice assistant Alice
Yandex is trying its best to catch up with Google, but so far only 2 devices have been released: Yandex Station and Yandex Station mini. Yandex has very ambitious plans, the company is constantly expanding its partnership. Alice is already working with many devices from Philips, Redmond, Xiaomi, Legrand and other manufacturers. Allows you to manage each one individually or combine them into scenarios. Another plus of Alice is the Yandex.Music music service (more than 100 million tracks). Since Yandex is the digital giant of our neighbors, the service is as favorable as possible for Russian-speaking users. Alice’s artificial intelligence is of course inferior to Google’s artificial intelligence, and it’s not so interesting to talk with her on various topics, but, as a rule, this is not the main purpose of smart speakers.
Yandex Station
This is an interesting hybrid of a smart speaker and a wireless speaker system. The speaker can be connected via an HDMI cable to a TV and used as a media box, broadcast video content from KinoPoisk, watch Yandex.Air online channels, and at the same time, the speaker creates a fairly high-quality and voluminous sound. You can also connect any music source via Bluetooth to the speaker and listen to your favorite recordings even without an Internet connection.
The built-in microphones of Yandex Station allow you to distinguish voice commands from a distance of no more than 7 meters. As a bonus when you buy a column, you get 6 months of KinoPoisk + Amediateka subscription and 6 months of Yandex.Plus subscription. This gives you access to tens of millions of tracks in Yandex Music, thousands of movies and TV shows in the KinoPoisk HD online cinema, as well as discounts and additional features in other Yandex services.
Yandex Station mini
Very compact speaker with smart features. It is interesting to implement sound volume control with gestures. The speaker plays quite well for its size. Yandex miniature smart speaker is great for installation in a nursery, bedroom or kitchen. Can play music, answers all questions and can even tell children a fairy tale.
This speaker does not have an HDMI output and therefore cannot broadcast video like its older brother. But it has a 3.5 mm jack for connecting external speakers. Powered via USB-C
Apple’s Siri Voice Assistant and Apple Home Pod
Smart Speaker
Siri is a very powerful voice assistant with tons of features. Unfortunately, in our region you can only communicate with Siri in English, and many services are simply not available in Belarus. Another downside is that music selection is limited to Apple Music and audio recordings stored on your phone. And one more significant limitation – Home Pod is not friendly with Android, i.e. You can use an Apple smart speaker only if you have other Apple equipment.
But with all the above minuses, this smart speaker has no equal in terms of technical stuffing. There are 7 tweeters and 1 woofer inside. The Home Pod is a breakthrough speaker that adapts to its location with 6 active microphones and delivers high-quality sound wherever the speaker is placed. In general, in terms of sound, this smart speaker, with its dimensions and price, has no equal.
Like smart speakers from Google, the Apple smart speaker is not officially delivered to us. But, as you understand, it can be bought from us without any problems.
Set up music in multiple rooms with Google Home
How to succeed with your Google Assistant-enabled multi-room audio system.
You might be forgiven for thinking that setting up music in multiple rooms with a Google Home or Nest smart speaker might not be possible.
When you think of the best multi-room speakers, you probably think of a Sonos system or other high-end audio systems, but that’s no longer the case.
Both Google and Amazon let you link connected speakers to create a multi-room, voice-controlled sound system throughout your home.
Whether you have legacy Google Home smart speakers, a brand new Nest Audio, multiple Google Nest Minis, third-party Assistant smart speakers, or Chromecast built-in speakers, you can use Google’s multi-room system.
That’s how.
Any smart speaker from Google or Nest will work with multi-room, as will many third-party speakers with built-in Google Assistant.
Google’s smart display lineup, such as the Nest Hub Max, is also possible to connect. All Chromecast audio speakers or Chromecast built-in speakers will also work together in a multi-room audio system.
What’s more, Chromecast dongles can also be added to speaker groups, including the all-new 4th generation Chromecast powered by Google TV.
Google has just rebranded its “Google Audio Entertainment” line. In addition to the Bland brand, the tech giant now also sells smart speaker kits and devices to set up your multi-room system from the Google Store.
Here is a list of some of the speakers and AV systems that can be used with the Google Home multiroom music system:
Google Home
Google Home Max
Google Nest Mini
Google Home Mini
Nest Audio
Nest Hub
Nest Hub Max
JBL Link 300
Sony LF-S50G
Marshall Stanmore II
Marshall Uxbridge Voice
Onkyo TX-NR696
Onkyo TX-RZ840
Sony STR-DN1080
Sony STR-ZA810ES
Integra DSX-3
Integra DRX-7. 1
To get started, you need to group your speakers or “audio devices”. We recommend spending some time deciding where you want to place each speaker first – you can also set up a stereo pair if you don’t want a multi-room or stereo pair in a multi-room system.
Also consider where the voice-activated smart speakers for music control will be if you have a mix of built-in Assistant and Chromecast speakers.
Basic multi-room speaker controls
The easiest way to get started is to simply control your speakers with your voice.
You already knew that you could say something like “Ok Google, turn on Metallica” or “Ok Google, turn on classical music” within earshot of a Google or Nest smart speaker, right?
Did you know that you can move music with your voice: “OK Google, move the music to the kitchen” and so on? Google calls this “streaming”.
You can go further by saying “Ok Google, play music on all my speakers”, or you can be more specific by using preset speaker groups.
Setting up Google smart speaker audio groups
Assuming you have already set up and placed individual speakers, go to the Google Home app on your phone/tablet and make sure all speakers and your mobile device are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
Tap the plus in the top left corner and then tap Create Speaker Group to display the speakers on your network.
Add the desired speakers and audio devices (eg Chromecast) to the group and give it a name.
You need at least two devices for the group, and you also need to link the group to your Google account in order to use voice control and access your personal preferences.
You’ll also notice that the home screen of the Google Home app will show your speakers (and other devices) in rooms, for example. “Living room” and “Bathroom” are a convenient way to look at them.
Control your groups with your voice
These are essentially the same Google Assistant commands as for a single speaker – and obviously you need to speak to the speaker using the far-field microphones and built-in Assistant; you won’t be able to talk to every device with a built-in Chromecast.
“Ok Google, turn Wine Goes In on all speakers”
“Ok Google, play Elton John on the office speakers”
“Ok Google, set the volume to 5 down”
“Ok Google, play/pause/resume/stop the next song in your homegroup”
If you want to mix and match your voice and smartphone controls, you can control your music by pressing the broadcast button on an app like Spotify and take action from there.
Once you’ve mastered the basics, you can also do things like set up a Google Home routine so your multi-room speakers start playing music when you get home.
Now you can even schedule wake-up music to play at a specific time in the morning.
Every year, tech companies like Apple unleash new gadgets touting perks like smart features and sleek designs. These products don’t just usher in new beginnings – they also make many people head to retailers like Best Buy just so they can pick up these devices.
That means needing to make room for this new tech by putting aside your old tech. But do you want to merely put it in a drawer or let it gather dust on your desk? Nope. As much as you may have spent on it, it merely makes sense to get rid of it – or, better yet, get something back for the money you spent on your new smart device.
Which brings up the question – how to get rid of it? If you’ve got an older iPhone (or Apple Watch, iPad, or MacBook) to part with, your best bet is a trade-in program that offers you a significant sum. Of course, we have one…but how does the Best Buy Trade-In program fare?
So how does Best Buy do on trade-in, anyway?

How Does Best Buy Trade-In Work? Online vs. In-Store Trade-In Which Devices Does Best Buy Accept for Trade-In? Best Buy Trade-In Reward Options Best Buy Trade-In Values Best Buy Trade-In Deals and Promotions Pros & Cons of Best Buy Trade-In
Similar to the buyback programs offered by Apple, ecoATM, Verizon, T-Mobile, and GadgetGone, Best Buy’s trade-in program turns your older devices into immediate, usable credit. But what kinds do Best Buy accept? And how do their trade-in values stack up to the competition? Time to break it down!
How Does Best Buy Trade-In Work?
Simply put, Best Buy Trade-In buys used electronics like laptops, tablets, smartphones, and smartwatches from consumers who no longer need them. Well, “buys” is a figurative term. It doesn’t necessarily offer cash, but rather in-store credit that can be used for other things.
In general, you only need to be at least 18 years old and have an accepted product in order to trade in with Best Buy. Additionally, although you’re able to sell up to three used items a day, there are certain exceptions.
Online vs. In-Store Trade-In
If you choose to trade in with Best Buy, you have the option of either completing the trade-in online or visiting a physical location. Of course, each method has its tradeoffs.
Keep in mind that while not required everywhere, there are certain locations that, because of local requirements, only accept trade-ins of items that are on a valid Best Buy receipt. It’s best to double-check the details for your specific Best Buy location before trading in.
In the event that your local store requires a valid receipt, or if your area Best Buy doesn’t participate in the trade-in program, there’s still the option to do it online.
(Also, don’t forget that some locations have COVID restrictions in place, so it never hurts to give your local store a call first.)
Online Trade-In
Trading in your old device using Best Buy’s online platform works in much the same way as most other buyback websites. Simply find the item you’d like to trade in and answer some questions about the item and its condition to receive your initial trade-in quote. Don’t forget to be honest – if it’s got a problem, make sure to take that into account. (Best Buy certainly will.)
If you’re happy with the offer, accept it, print out the free shipping label, and send your used iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, MacBook, or whatever else to them within 14 days.
Once Best Buy receives your used tech, they’ll evaluate the device to ensure its condition matches what you stated while filling in the trade-in details. If everything checks out, your Best Buy gift card will be on its way to you seven to nine days after your item is received.
If, however, your item is received more than 14 days after you originally accepted the trade-in offer or if it doesn’t meet the condition as stated online, its trade-in value will be adjusted accordingly.
Should you be unhappy with the new trade-in value, Best Buy will happily send your device back to you as long as no gift card has been issued yet and you pay the shipping fee.
Is Best Buy’s trade-in program ideal? It depends on what you need.
In-Store Trade-In
Unlike some other buyback programs (including us), one of the advantages of using Best Buy Trade-In is the ability to complete your trade-in at a Best Buy store. Thanks to a sprawling network of storefronts in the US, Mexico, and Canada, you can easily walk into a physical location to trade.
It is important to note that not every Best Buy store accepts trade-ins, and some have certain COVID restrictions. So be sure to confirm that yours can do so before going into the store.
Before going into your nearest Best Buy, we recommend finding out what your device might be worth by getting a trade-in estimate online first. Then, if the quote is in the neighborhood of the amount you’d like to receive, it’s good to pay them a visit.
Just be sure to take your driver’s license or other state-issued ID with you; and whatever you do, DON’T ship your used devices to your nearest Best Buy location, as the only thing you’ll get from doing this is a lot of headaches. And literally nothing back credit-wise.
Once in the store, one of the employees will assess your device’s trade-in value based on its functionality and physical appearance. If you accept the offer, you’ll leave with a gift card in-hand that same day which can be applied to any online or in-store purchase. That means a new fridge, game system, or whatever else you may need.
Best Buy accepts cell phones, tablets, laptops, and other electronics for trade-in. But not all.
Which Devices Does Best Buy Accept for Trade-In?
As you might have guessed, Best Buy can take in quite a bit when it comes to electronics. Specifically, Best Buy Trade-In accepts:
• Cell phones
• Video games
• Tablets/E-readers
• Gaming systems and controllers
• MP3 Players
• Laptop and desktop computers
• Cameras and camcorders
• Smartwatches and other wearables
There is, however, an interesting exception. Best Buy doesn’t exactly keep its trade-in program up to date. As a result, newer devices, like the iPhone 13, aren’t taken in just yet. This may change in the future, but, more than likely, it’s just getting caught up from the past couple of years of COVID.
(Side note: If there’s a device Best Buy won’t take, however, be sure to check GadgetGone. We take all iPhone 13 brands, despite the condition. And we’re adding new devices each week, including new tablets, game systems and more.)
Does Best Buy Accept Cracked Phones and Tablets?
Although smartphones and tablets with damaged screens were originally only accepted for recycling, Best Buy has since updated its policy to give store credit for these devices. However, screen damage does decrease the trade-in values of these devices considerably (more on that in a bit).
Best Buy Trade-In Reward Options
We don’t know about you, but for us, payment is the most important part of every trade-in transaction. That’s right, like you, we enjoy earning sweet, sweet cash for our unused devices. Unfortunately, as with some other popular trade-in platforms (we’re looking at you, T-Mobile and Apple), you have only one payment option to choose from: a gift card.
If you visit your local Best Buy establishment often, store credit is ideal. If you’re anything like us, however, only being able to receive a gift card is a bit of a dealbreaker. It’s fine and we can accept it (and add more Nintendo Switch games to our collection), but there’s another problem – the trade-in values it offers.
Best Buy Trade-In Values
When taken as-is, Best Buy’s trade-in values are…decent. But just how do they stack up when compared to other buyback programs?
For our comparison, we decided to look at devices accepted by both GadgetGone and Best Buy, specifically the newer iPhone devices that the company could take. For good measure, we also included updated prices for a couple of game consoles.
Please note that while our quote is particularly for models on the Verizon network, unlocked smartphones are generally worth more than their carrier-locked counterparts. To learn how to unlock your cell phone and maximize your payout, click here.
iPhone 12 256GB Verizon network, good condition
Best Buy: $450 (credit)
GadgetGone: $515 (cash)
iPad Pro 9.7 inch with Wi-Fi, 256GB
Best Buy: $120 (credit)
GadgetGone: $135 (cash)
PlayStation 4 Pro 1TB w/1 controller, good condition
Best Buy: $150 (credit)
GadgetGone: $180 (cash)
Xbox One X 1TB Console w/1 controller, good condition
Best Buy: $150 (credit)
GadgetGone: $180 (cash)
As you can see from the trade-in values above, Best Buy has competitive offers for iPhones and video game consoles, as long as they are in good condition and include all the components, including cables and controllers.
However, when it comes to other Apple products like the iPad, MacBook, and Apple Watch, Best Buy’s offers fall considerably below its competitors. What’s more, they can be even lower for Samsung devices, depending on models. On top of that, Best Buy doesn’t even take in the iPhone 13 line yet, while GadgetGone does.
Additionally, although Best Buy gives good trade-in values for devices with average wear and tear and all original components included, they can’t compete with those offered by GadgetGone if there’s damage or something is missing.
Best Buy Trade-In Deals and Promotions
From time to time, Best Buy will hold special trade-in deals and promotions to help you maximize your trade-in credit. By taking advantage of these deals, you are able to earn extra money from your devices.
As long as you and your trade-in meet the requirements, these promotions can go a long way in making Best Buy’s trade-in values more competitive. Unfortunately, as these deals are used to advertise a particular product, the only customers who are able to benefit are those who were already interested in buying the promoted device.
For those not interested, you’re just stuck with the general amount. And, again, only in trade-in credit.
Pros & Cons of Best Buy Trade-In
When it comes to trade-in methods for used electronics, it’s nice to have choices. For those who frequently shop at Best Buy or who prefer to buy things there instead of from their provider or directly from Apple, its trade-in program does have benefits, namely competitive trade-in values for iPhones and video game consoles.
However, their lack of payment options (i.e. no cash) waters down any advantage they might have gained. By only offering store credit, customers are limited on how they can spend their trade-in payment. If you need a new game system or stereo, great. But…what if you need food or cash to pay bills?
In a nutshell, if you’re not planning on making any purchases at Best Buy in the near future, there may be a problem.

Best Buy iPhone Trade-In Program
Apple frequently unveils its newest iPhone models. With the latest features and designs, many consumers eagerly await these updates.
However, you may have one small issue—you probably paid a high price for your current iPhone. What do you do if you want a more recent model?
The easiest way to complete an upgrade is to sell your old iPhone to get cash for your new one. Best Buy offers a trade-in service for iPhones (and many other electronics) to give you store credit. You can use that to purchase a new iPhone is you’re so inclined.
Let’s dive into how this program works so you can decide if it’s the right choice for you. We’ll discuss every aspect of The Best Buy iPhone Trade-In Program that you need to know.
How Does Best Buy’s iPhone Trade-in Program Work?
Best Buy’s program is fairly simple to use. You go to the trade-in page on their website and select your device. From there, you inform Best Buy about what model you have, its storage capacity, the carrier you use, and the phone’s color.
On the next page, Best Buy will ask you a few more questions, including whether your screen is cracked or otherwise damaged. They’ll want to know about other aspects of the phone’s condition as well.
Finally, you need to make sure your phone has been totally reset and the activation lock has been disabled. After you’ve related all these details, Best Buy will generate a quote for you within a few minutes.
How Do I Know My iPhone’s Condition?
Best Buy has three categories for phones:
Good: Shows signs of normal use.
Fair: Moderate damage, but fully functional.
Broken: Does not power on or function properly.
Once you’ve specified your phone’s condition, you add it to your cart. Unlike the normal online checkout process, you are given two options. You can choose to either trade it in at the nearest Best Buy location or mail it in.
Carrier Programs vs Best Buy’s Trade-in Program
Most major carriers offer some form of an upgrade plan. It’s important to remember that telecom companies make their money from phone contracts, and not necessarily from selling phones.
Their goal is to lock you into the longest, most expensive contract possible. They also might not give you the best value for your old phone. They are under no pressure to offer you higher resale value because you’ll be locked into a new contract anyway.
You must also make sure you read the fine print before agreeing to a long-term contract with a carrier. When you first read about carrier upgrade programs, they might sound pretty good. However, there may be penalties and conditions you won’t notice unless you’re paying close attention.
Get Cash For Your Used iPhone
We buy used and broken iPhones for top dollar! Get free shipping, a 14-day price lock, and our highest price guarantee.
SELL YOUR IPHONE
For example, even if you’re a long-term Sprint customer whose account is in good standing, they “may change or terminate this program at any time at Sprint’s sole discretion.” Sprint isn’t alone in this. The other major carriers have similar policies.
Selling your old phone through a trade-in program like Best Buy or a buyback service gives you flexibility. This is particularly valuable if you plan to move to an area where one telecom service may not work as well as another.
You can still take part in upgrade plans even if you sell your phone to a buyback service. You might choose to enjoy the best of both worlds by getting a discounted phone through a long-term contract, while still selling your old phone for the highest price possible.
Best Buy vs. Other Buyback Programs
Compared to other options, Best Buy’s program isn’t great. Best Buy doesn’t offer a price match guarantee and generally offer much lower trade-in values compared to other options.
Also, with Best Buy, you can only use the trade-in credit at one of their stores. This means that if you find a better deal at another store, you’re out of luck.
There are many buyback programs on the internet. Apple has one, but you may not get the best deal for your phone if you go through them.
They don’t offer cash, either. They only offer discounts on new iPhones or Apple gift cards. If you’ve decided to jump ship and buy the latest Samsung Galaxy or Google Pixel, then you’re out of luck if you try selling your phone to Apple.
Amazon has its own trade-in program, but many people have found they don’t offer the best resale prices because they control their own marketplace. There’s also a persistent rumor that Amazon Prime customers get better deals than non-Prime users.
As for dedicated iPhone buyback service options, there are others besides Buyback Boss, but you should do your homework before trying any of these. Many of them don’t have the same strong reputation that we’ve built through our superior customer service, ease-of-use, price transparency, and honesty.
Remember, with BuyBack Boss, you get the highest trade-in price, guaranteed. If you do find a better value for your phone, we’ll update our offer. You can always take advantage of our award-winning service, as well.
Quick Tips Before You Sell Your Phone
Buyback Boss makes it fast and easy to get cash for your old phone. You can get the money we’ve offered within just a few days.
However, if you’re able to, you should buy your new phone first. This will give you time to sync the devices so you can prevent data loss and ensure you don’t lose any of your purchases.
Also, before selling your phone, make sure you completely erase it and remove it from your iCloud account. That ensure both your privacy and security.
Why Buyback Boss is the Best Choice For You
Selling your phone privately is not an attractive prospect. You can go on sites like eBay or Craigslist, but there, you’ll deal with buyers who might not offer you the best value for your old iPhone. Besides, you’ll often have to wait for a long time before actually getting paid.
The best way to sell your phone is through a buyback program. As Best Buy is one of the leading electronics retailers in the country, you might be tempted to go with their trade-in service.
It’s undeniably easy to use, but it’s also restrictive for the reasons that we mentioned above. Best Buy offers lower trade-in values compared to its competitors, and you can only get store credit from them, rather than cash.
Likewise, while you might be tempted to go through your phone carrier, note that this is often a way for them to lock you into lengthy contracts. In some cases, they may not even give you anything for your old phone, or they’ll give you a much lower offer than you could get elsewhere.
There are a variety of buyback services on the internet, but none match Buyback Boss’s overall quality. Buyback Boss has a reputation built on trusted reviews, unbeatable customer service, and the highest prices, guaranteed. We’re quick and easy to use, so what are you waiting for? Sell your old iPhone and upgrade to the latest model today!

Which brand of electric shaver is better Braun or Philips?
Choosing a quality essential is not always easy. It’s the same story with electric shavers. The number of companies offering razors and their diversity can easily confuse a buyer who decides to buy one for himself.
The biggest shaving giants are Philips and Braun . However, this does not narrow the search circles at all, since both manufacturers offer a huge selection of electric machines, and every year the list of their models is only growing.
In this case, it is quite difficult to determine which brand is better, but you can figure it out and choose the right machine for each.
Philips
For 80 years, Philips has been producing electric shavers, the main feature of which is that the company’s shavers are rotary .
Philips rotary machine
Philips is the first choice for its popularity and confidence that their shavers will last . However, the range of electric machines is quite wide, and many ambiguous models can be found in it. Plus, many buyers can’t afford to buy a much-touted razor for more than $200.
Luckily, Philips has something for everyone, so rich and poor alike can find their own electric shaver.
The Philips Norelco Electric Shaver 3100 is the leader in the cheap models category. One of the best models in the highest price category is Philips Norelco Electric Shaver 9700 .
Both razors have their own characteristics and, despite huge differences in price, offer useful features for every user. Their comparison will show you what to expect from Philips electric shavers.
Philips 3100
This electric shaver is one of the best in the lower price range. For $50 , the buyer will receive a rotary razor with three shaving heads moving in four directions, an indicator light and even a brush for cleaning the razor. This set is quite enough for a budget electric machine.
Philips Norelco Electric Shaver 3100
From the positive qualities of the device, buyers most often highlight a long time of use, convenient indication and noiselessness. Of the negative – the lack of some accessories and frequent skin irritation after use.
Philips 9700
Razor price – $299 . Unlike the cheap Philips machine, this one has many new features:
Wet and dry shave.
Screen present.
Charging and cleaning unit.
Philips Norelco Electric Shaver 9700
In positive feedback, users pointed to good ergonomics, long battery life and the ability of the razor to overcome even a 3-day stubble. Negative qualities: the razor is very expensive and sometimes shaves poorly, skipping hairs.
Braun
Braun has taken the opposite bank from Philips and produces foil electric shavers. The company offers consumers a wide range of machines for any occasion. The representative of the lowest price category is Braun Series 3 ProSkin 3000 . Dear representative – Braun Series 9 92930ss .
Braun Foil Electric Shaver
Braun 3000
The cost of a budget razor – $ 50 . This price includes 3 blades, 45 minutes of use and a quick recharge for one shave in 5 minutes. Satisfied customers often commented on the ease of cleaning and the ability to change blades without difficulty.
There were also quite a lot of negative reviews. Users wrote about poor-quality shaving, discomfort and poor raising of hair with a razor, which caused a poor result.
Braun Series 3 ProSkin 3000 Electric Shaver
Braun 9293s
The price of this electric shaver starts at from $300. Here the consumer will find many differences from the budget version:
5 shaving blades.
1 hour of work.
The presence of a charging and cleaning unit and a cover.
Screen present.
Braun Series 9 Shaver 92930cc
In positive reviews, power was most often mentioned, as well as a good quality wet shave. In the negative – too high a price and a long time of one use of the machine.
Brand comparison
The main difference between the razors of the two companies is their shape: Philips electric razors are rotary, Braun razors are mesh. But what is their difference?
Rotary machines have 3 heads with rounded blades that make circular movements in different directions (depending on the model, there can be from four to eight). This shape allows you to easily shave hard-to-reach areas of the skin, adjusting to any curves of the face and neck. However, shaving with such a machine is not suitable for particularly sensitive skin, since round blades easily irritate it.
Wire saws – feature multiple flat blades and wire moving back and forth. This razor is suitable for daily use, however, it cannot boast of a perfect shave in hard-to-reach places due to its flat shape.
Shape
+
–
Rotary shaver
1. Easily shaves hard to reach areas 2. Quick shave
1. Causes skin irritation 2. Large size
Foil shaver
1. More precise shaving and shaping beard and mustache
1. Cannot shave hard to reach areas 2. Can cut skin if not used properly
Price difference
Based on the analysis of brands, it can be seen that Braun and Philips offer the buyer devices in at any price category starting from $40. However, even if manufacturers put several accessories such as cleaning brushes in the box with the cheapest Philips electric shavers, the buyer most likely will not find anything like this in Braun packages.
Brand Similarity
Both companies offer the consumer a wide range of electric shavers with a variety of functions, ranging from the ability to wet shave, to units that can clean the razor after use.
Shaver selection
An analysis of the companies showed that finding a good razor is not difficult at both Philips and Braun. It seems that manufacturers have created a machine model for every occasion, which is why the buyer should pay attention to subjective feelings and needs:
Skin sensitivity . If the skin is very irritable, some electric shavers can only make it worse, leaving behind red spots for the whole day. Such men are advised to choose between Braun mesh machines – it is believed that they harm the skin of the face less. However, shaving with gel greatly reduces the force of damage, so if you really want to buy a Philips rotary razor, you should choose a model with the ability to wet shave.
Shaving speed . If there is absolutely no time for it in the morning, you need a machine that can make the skin smooth in a matter of minutes. In this case, it is advised to take a Philips device. Rotary machines do their job much faster than mesh machines.
Size . Business and leisure travelers should choose between Braun foil shavers as they are much more compact than rotary shavers.
Mustache and beard shaving . Braun shavers will handle mustache and beard shaping better than rotary shavers. However, it is worth noting that trimmers are attached to some Philips models – small machines that can correct any shape.
Price . Approximately the same for both Philips and Braun. But here it is worth paying attention to subjective needs. Many budget models offer enough features for the average user, but do not have additional accessories. If your feelings tell you that you don’t need a charging and cleaning unit, you can easily save money and buy a great device much cheaper. But if there is no time for cleaning at all, then you will have to pay more for comfort.
Output
To date, it is almost impossible to determine which brand of razors is better – . Everyone has both unsuccessful experiments and reliable devices that can last a long time. Therefore, all depends on the buyer of . Choosing a brand and, accordingly, an electric shaver, is worth listening to yourself. If you follow this advice and understand your needs, you can get the perfect result regardless of the company.

While there are several blood pressure monitor watches on the market, Omron HeartGuide is the only one with FDA clearance.
Your blood pressure is an important biometric that gives you vital information about what’s going on inside your body.
Even if you don’t have a diagnosis of high blood pressure (hypertension) or a family history of it, it’s important to keep an eye on your blood pressure numbers, especially as you age or if you’re pregnant.
Since blood pressure can fluctuate throughout the day, it’s best to be able to take readings often.
While blood pressure is traditionally measured with a blood pressure cuff, some devices claim to provide accurate measurements via your finger or wrist. These options may seem convenient, but that doesn’t mean they’re the best choice.
Read on to find out more about their accuracy and get our top pick for the best blood pressure monitor watch.
According to the American Heart Association, upper arm cuff-style blood pressure monitors provide more accurate readings than wrist or finger monitors. One reason is that when you take a blood pressure reading, the monitor must be at heart level, with the upper arm resting near the heart.
You may get a more accurate result from a wrist monitor by keeping your wrist on your heart during your reading.
You can also double-check your watch’s accuracy by comparing its readings with those received in a medical setting. You can do this by taking your watch to a doctor’s appointment and testing yourself immediately after getting an upper arm cuff reading.
Several smartwatches on the market claim to measure your blood pressure. We reviewed several options, but most did not meet our rigorous vetting criteria. That’s because most of them don’t have Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clearance.
While more FDA-cleared devices, like the LiveMetric LiveOne Band, are expected to be available in the future, currently there’s just one option that fits the bill: the Omron HeartGuide. It has FDA clearance and is a class 2 medical device.

Healthline’s review
This FDA-cleared medical device uses an inflatable cuff inside the watchband that you activate when you want to take your blood pressure. Readings take around 30 seconds.
It syncs to a companion app called Omron Connect, which provides information about your readings. The app collects and stores your data in the form of color-coded graphs that help you see trends in your readings, based on variables like exercise and time of day.
The Omron Connect app is available for both Android and Apple devices.
It’s hard to know. The best way to check is to compare several readings with a blood pressure cuff.
Available research
Large-scale testing for accuracy hasn’t been done on blood pressure monitor watches or on fitness trackers that contain a blood pressure reading feature.
A few small studies have looked at the accuracy of specific watch models, with uneven results.
A 2020 study showed positive results, but a watch manufacturer funded it. Another 2020 study showed negative results and had researchers with stated conflicts of interest.
FDA clearance vs. FDA approval
FDA clearance isn’t the same thing as FDA approval.
Unlike class 3 medical devices that support or sustain life, wrist monitors are categorized as class 1 or class 2 low risk medical devices. Low risk medical devices don’t require FDA approval to be marketed. The FDA doesn’t guarantee the results of the watch you buy.
But these watches still have benefits. They may give accurate or near-accurate results that provide valuable information — for example, if you have high blood pressure during pregnancy. They may also provide information about how your blood pressure responds to exercise.
Just don’t rely on watches as your sole blood pressure monitoring device. This may be especially important if you have high blood pressure or take medications that make you prone to low blood pressure (hypotension).
If you’re concerned about your blood pressure, talk with a healthcare professional. Readings from a blood pressure cuff might not be accurate enough to reveal whether you’re at risk of developing high blood pressure.
Talk with a doctor if you’re frequently experiencing the following symptoms:
nausea or dizziness
headaches
blurred vision
feeling disoriented or confused
pain in your chest
a racing pulse, or a heart that feels out of rhythm
fatigue
Is there a smartwatch that monitors blood pressure?
Major smartwatch manufacturers, like Apple, Samsung, and Fitbit, are still developing their blood pressure tech for FDA clearance in the United States.
In the meantime, Omron offers an FDA-cleared blood pressure watch.
Are blood pressure watches accurate?
The accuracy of blood pressure watches varies according to the product. Always be sure to read the reviews thoroughly on any blood pressure tracking watch you purchase to get an idea of accuracy.
A blood pressure watch isn’t a replacement for regular monitoring by a medical professional. If you have a health concern and need to have your blood pressure measured at home on a daily basis, it’s a good idea to invest in a standard blood pressure cuff at home.
Is there a wearable device for blood pressure?
Yes, but most of them are not FDA cleared. The only option that’s currently FDA cleared is the Omron HeartGuide.
Blood pressure monitor watches may provide accurate readings, although this hasn’t been proven in large-scale studies.
To get the most accurate, consistent results, choose an option that’s been cleared as a medical device by the FDA.
If you have a health condition like high blood pressure, don’t rely on wrist monitors alone for your readings. No watch takes the place of monitoring by a healthcare professional.

Another 2020 study showed negative results and had researchers with stated conflicts of interest.

review of smart watches with a tonometer, heart rate and ECG – 2021 rating according to Tele2 – Moscow and the region
Smart watches appeared on the market relatively recently. At first, they were considered as a kind of addition to the smartphone, a companion satellite that informs the owner about calls and SMS received at a time when the phone was not at hand. But gradually the functionality of smart watches expanded. They began to be used to monitor physical activity. And at some point, the creators of such gadgets taught them to measure not only the distance traveled and the speed of movement, but also parameters such as heart rate and blood pressure.

Smart watch: how it works
It is important to understand that a smart watch is not a professional medical device, and its measurement accuracy is not very high. This applies to both pulse and pressure. Most often, smartwatches use the photoplethysmography method: LEDs emit red and green light, some of which is absorbed by body tissues, and the other is reflected and captured by an optical sensor. Blood is red, so it reflects red light and absorbs green light. When the heart beats, the blood flow in the wrist increases, and the amount of absorbed green light increases accordingly. This allows the watch to measure the number of heart beats per minute.
The blood pressure detection is linked to the pulse sensor. Of course, modern technologies do not allow equipping smart watches with a cuff, like a blood pressure monitor. Therefore, calculations based on indirect information are applied here. The initial data is the pulse rate, the speed at which the pulse wave dissipates, the translucency of the blood and the biometric parameters that you previously specified during setup. The measurement results are displayed on the smart watch display. You can also set up saving this information in a special application on a smartphone or tablet – this may be necessary for further analysis of your physical condition and the effectiveness of training.
Many gadgets can create notifications based on received data. For example, they will warn that now you need to rest. In some models, an ECG is used – the construction of an electrocardiogram. These watches have a sensor that registers minor electrical signals that occur during the work of the heart. He not only counts the pulse rate, but also monitors the rhythm of heart contractions and is able to detect its violations – arrhythmia. In order to use this function, you need to put your finger on the sensor.
Smart watches: measurement accuracy
Today, smart watches are inferior in accuracy to specialized medical devices. The error increases as the intensity of physical activity increases. For example, a group of researchers from the USA and Sweden tested seven devices from different manufacturers on sixty volunteers and found that the average error is:
about 5% – when a person rides a bicycle;
approximately 8. 8% – when a person walks at a fast pace.
Sweat on the skin, the presence of tattoos, intense sunburn, and even a tightly tightened strap also affect the accuracy of measurements. Blood pressure indicators depend not only on how well the watch measures the pulse, but also on whether the wearer’s biometric parameters are correct. The program used for calculations also plays an important role. On average, the error can be 10-20%.
Devices that use an ECG sensor provide better accuracy, but they still cannot match professional grade devices. In order to improve the accuracy of blood pressure measurement, it is recommended to determine this indicator:
before meals;
in the correct position: sitting, raising the arm so that the wrist is at the level of the heart.
Smart watches: for whom
Not very high measurement accuracy means that such devices should not be used to make a diagnosis, adjust a treatment plan or take medication. But they can be used for informational purposes. There are also many people who will need even approximate, approximate data on the pulse and blood pressure.
The first group – those who have high or low blood pressure. Hypertensive and hypotensive patients who know that blood pressure can rise or fall during a flight, on a walk or when climbing a mountain, will need a small wrist device that reports problems in a timely manner. After all, not everyone has the opportunity to carry a tonometer with them and use it constantly.
The second group is those who go in for sports and fitness. During intense training, the pulse and pressure must be controlled. 100% accuracy in this situation is not always important, the main thing is to track the overshoot in time to avoid overloads.
The third group is the elderly. A smart watch with a pressure measurement function will help them see a doctor in a timely manner.
Top 10 Heart Rate and Blood Pressure Smartwatches
There are many smartwatches on the market that measure heart rate and blood pressure. Some are produced by famous manufacturers, others by lesser known companies. Meet ten gadgets that have this feature implemented at a decent level.
Omron Heart Guide
The device is interesting primarily because, according to the principle of operation, it is as close as possible to a real blood pressure monitor. Air tanks are built into its strap, which are inflated during measurements. This ensures particularly high precision. Also, the Omron Heart Guide smart watch detects heart rate well. For both parameters, this model is certified in the US as a medical device.
All data is displayed on a 1.3-inch round color display. Also on the screen you can see notifications about missed phone calls and unread SMS. But the user should be prepared for the fact that medical functions in this model come to the fore. This watch does not have a microphone and speaker, it will not help you book plane tickets or book a hotel room.
Advantages:
measurement accuracy is above average;
simplicity and ease of use.
Disadvantages:
fewer features than many similar gadgets;
no smart alarm.
Samsung Galaxy Watch 4
This is a whole family of devices from a well-known manufacturer. You can buy the regular Watch 4 with a 40mm or 44mm display, or you can opt for the Watch 4 Classic with a 42mm or 46mm display. Designers have tried to make this model as similar as possible to a traditional watch with a round dial. However, this gadget has many additional features. One of them is the determination of the ECG and blood pressure. The manufacturer promises high accuracy, but on the condition that you measure the pressure while sitting. In this case, it is necessary to put your hand on the table, so that it is at the level of the heart.
In addition to measuring ECG and blood pressure, the device offers the wearer many other features, including real-time body composition and detailed sleep analysis with snoring.
Advantages:
stylish design;
high measurement accuracy in compliance with the recommendations of the manufacturer.
Disadvantages:
price – above average;
many features are only available when used with a Samsung smartphone.
HerzBand Elegance S5
HerzBand Elegance S5 is a budget device with a relatively small error level, which, according to user reviews, does not exceed 10 units. Pulse and pressure can be measured in monitoring mode – in this case, the parameters will be determined automatically while you wear the smart watch on your hand. Sleep monitoring and special sports modes are also available to the owner.
This is more of a fitness band than a smartwatch. Therefore, they do not have very many functions that are not related to sports and health. They report calls and SMS, and the text message can be read on their screen. You can also set alarms and reminders for different times and control your smartphone camera from a distance.
Advantages:
the possibility of continuous monitoring of heart rate and blood pressure;
relatively small measurement error;
reasonable price.
Disadvantages:
• Few functions not related to physical activity and health.
Huawei Watch Fit
In terms of functionality, this model is something between a smart watch and a fitness bracelet. A large rectangular screen with a resolution of 280×456 pixels was created using AMOLED technology, so it is bright. Information from it is well read even during the day, in sunny weather.
The device measures not only the pulse and blood pressure, but also the level of oxygen in the blood. There are also more than 90 modes for practicing various sports. You can swim with this smart watch – the 5ATM water resistance level of the case allows you to use it in the pool or natural water. But they are no longer suitable for diving.
Huawei Watch Fit is compatible with the proprietary Health app. It stores all the information that you might need.
Advantages:
convenient to use;
many functions related to physical activity.
Weaknesses:
little customization;
judging by user reviews, the quality of the strap included in the kit leaves much to be desired.
Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2
This smart watch is designed for those who lead an active lifestyle. Choose from two housing options: aluminum or stainless steel. The Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 has a 1.2-inch round screen based on the Super AMOLED matrix. The picture on it is bright, clear, with realistic colors. In any situation, you can easily see the necessary information on it.
The device is equipped with eight photodiodes for more accurate heart rate measurement. Smart watches are not only suitable for sports and health monitoring. Various applications are installed on them, including Samsung Pay – with its help you can pay for goods and services.
Pros:
light and stylish;
high measurement accuracy;
many functions, and not only sports.
Disadvantages:
the battery hardly lasts for 2 days;
the heart rate monitor gets dirty quickly, because of this, the measurement accuracy is reduced.
Asus Vivo Watch SP
The developers of this model decided to use two technologies at once to measure the pulse – photoplethysmography and ECG. This made it possible to increase the accuracy and speed of measurements. However, Asus specifically states that this is not a medical device. The information obtained with its help should not be used to make a diagnosis.
Asus Vivo Watch SP is compatible with the proprietary HealthConnect app. It allows not only to save data on blood pressure, but also to monitor their changes in dynamics. The device also measures the level of oxygen in the blood, monitors the quality of sleep, notifies you of phone calls and text messages. The 5ATM water resistance allows you to wear the watch if you are going to swim in artificial or natural water.
Advantages:
high measurement accuracy due to the combination of two technologies;
many functions;
stylish design, the ability to change straps and dials.
Disadvantages:
Relatively dim screen backlight is often mentioned in reviews.
Geozon Vita Plus
This is an inexpensive entry-level smartwatch. They deliberately implement only the basic functions that are necessary for the average user. The plastic case looks concise. It has built-in sensors that measure heart rate and ECG. To improve measurement accuracy, the manufacturer recommends performing a calibration before use. How to do this is described in the instructions.
Those who used Geozon Vita Plus smartwatches note that after calibration, the error really becomes minimal. As befits a smart watch, this model also reports on calls and text messages received on the smartphone. All information is displayed on a round color screen with a diameter of 1. 3 inches.
Advantages:
blood pressure measurement with low error after calibration;
ease of use;
affordable price.
Weaknesses:
non-standard charging cable – if lost, it will be difficult to replace.
Lemfo N58
The same model is sometimes found in Russia under the names Rundoing N58 or XRide N58. And then its cost is about 2 times higher. But Lemfo N58 is an inexpensive smart watch. They measure pulse, ECG and calculate blood pressure. It is recommended that you first go through the calibration in accordance with the instructions – after it, the accuracy increases and the error in most cases does not exceed 3-5 units.
The model is equipped with a 1.22-inch round display with a resolution of 240×204 pixels. Unlike many of the devices discussed above, it is not touch sensitive. Therefore, you need to use a button to control. When connected to a smartphone, you will receive phone call and text message notifications.
Advantages:
low cost;
good measurement accuracy after calibration;
basic set of functions.
Weaknesses:
No touch screen.
Zeblaze Crystal 3
An important feature of this smart watch is its weight of only 27 g. The device is practically not felt on the hand, and it can be worn for a long time without feeling any discomfort. The gadget is equipped with a new generation optical sensor that provides high-precision heart rate measurement. Accordingly, based on the information he receives, blood pressure is calculated.
1.3-inch IPS screen delivers bright, clear images. On it you will see various notifications: about calls and SMS, messages in social networks, letters from e-mail. The Zeblaze Crystal 3 smart watch also monitors sleep and collects information about daily physical activity.
Housing protected against dust and moisture in accordance with IP67 standard. Therefore, the gadget can be used in the rain, it is suitable for swimming and can withstand immersion to a depth of 1 m.
built-in USB charging – no special cable or docking station needed.
Disadvantages:
reviews often indicate a large error in measuring pressure;
screen is not very bright.
HalfSun Smart Watch
The manufacturer positions the device as a smart watch with a tonometer. However, there is no tonometer in the truest sense of the word. We are talking about the same calculation of blood pressure based on data obtained by measuring the pulse. Accuracy is not perfect, but no worse than many similar gadgets.
Smart watches are able to monitor the level of heart rate and blood pressure in automatic mode, the main thing is that the device should be on the wearer’s hand. If the indicators are out of range, the clock starts to vibrate. This is useful if the person is in a pre-stress state or does intense physical exercise.
HalfSun Smart Watch has a rectangular screen. Its diagonal is 1.3 inches. The case is protected from dust and moisture in accordance with the IP67 standard and can withstand immersion to a depth of 1 m, so you can swim with such a gadget.
Advantages:
measurement of pulse and blood pressure in automatic mode;
The
is suitable for swimming thanks to its IP67 waterproof rating.
Disadvantages:
relatively large weight 119G;
batteries run out quickly, especially with heavy use.
Smart watch: how to choose
If the medical properties of a smart watch are especially important to you, start your selection with the manufacturer. For example, the Omron Heart Guide gadget with which we began the story was released by a company specializing in the production of medical equipment. Therefore, its products are more trustworthy compared to brands that produce conventional mobile electronics.
If measurement accuracy is especially important to you, it is better to prefer a gadget in which an ECG sensor is installed. Smartwatches that use the photoplethysmography method are less accurate.
It’s good if the gadget has a warning function. Even if the accuracy of the measurements is far from ideal, it is important that you know when the pulse and pressure rise above the allowable. But there are other criteria to take into account.
Multi-OS Smartphone Compatibility: Most smartwatches are compatible with Android and iOS mobile devices. But sometimes compatibility issues still arise. You can also find models in which maximum functionality is available only when used with a smartphone from a certain manufacturer.
Screen features: the larger the display, the better, but if it is too large, the clock will be inconvenient to use. The optimal diagonal size is from 1.2 to 1.5 inches. If device personalization matters, make sure the watch face is customizable and that the manufacturer offers a wide range of alternatives.
Battery life: Manufacturers typically list battery life for everyday use, not heavy use. Therefore, in reality, smart watches can be discharged in just a few hours. Screen performance also affects battery life. A small monochrome display consumes less power than a large color one. But it is not so convenient to use it.
Communication capabilities: almost all smart watches inform the owner about calls and SMS received on the phone. But there are models that allow you to answer calls, listen to and dictate voice messages.
Sports Modes: If you’re into physical activity, it’s great to have the watch as your personal trainer. There are many devices on sale with special modes, training programs and applications that evaluate their performance.
Reliable and waterproof: for swimmers it is important that the watch is suitable for use in the pool. As a rule, these are models, the description of which indicates protection against dust and moisture in accordance with IP67 or IP68 standards, or water resistance of 5ATM. When it comes to impact resistance, metal cases are better able to withstand bumps and accidental drops. But at the same time they weigh heavier than plastic ones.

Crock-Pot FAQ’s: Answering Your Crock-Pot Questions!
Got a question about cooking in your slow cooker? Want to know what slow cooker to buy? Check out our extensive Crock-Pot FAQ’s for the answers!
Readers send us questions via email and social media all the time and so we thought we would compile some of more frequently asked questions they ask us and put them all together on one page so that it will hopefully help everyone out.
If you have a question and it is not answered here please feel free to shoot us an email and we will get back with you as soon as possible…
Is crock-pot cooking safe?
Cooking in a crock-pot is safe. Slow cookers reach a simmer temperature of 209°F, that along with the cooking in a moist environment over a long period of time safely kills common bacteria such as E. coli, salmonella and botulism. Be sure to follow the cooking times for the recipe you are following to be sure to cook your foods, especially meats for the required times.
What is the difference between a crock pot and a slow cooker?
There is no difference. The term “slow cooker” is a generic term for the name brand “Crock-Pot”. Crock-Pot is a registered brand of slow cookers owned by the Rival parent company. And any other brand is just called a slow cooker.
What is your all time favorite Crock-Pot?
Between the entire Crock-Pot Ladies team we have several slow cookers in all different shapes and sizes. From small dip sized crock-pots to casserole crock-pots and everything in between. However our go to Crock-Pot size is a nice oval shaped 6 quart crock-pot with programmable settings is our absolutely favorite. We like this size because it holds enough to feed our families which range in size from 4 to 8 people, and the oval size fits pot roasts, whole chickens and other longer cuts of meat better than a round slow cooker.
What is the difference between the LOW and HIGH setting on my crock-pot?
Both HIGH and LOW stabilize at the same temperature, it is just a matter of how long it takes to reach the simmer point. Once food reaches the simmer point, total cook time is dependent on cut and weight of meat to reach the point of maximum flavor and texture potential. (Most dishes can be prepared on either HIGH or LOW.
What are the typical cook times for slow cookers?
The typical time for slow cookers to reach the simmer point (209°F) is 7 to 8 hours on LOW and 3 to 4 hours on HIGH. These times however are approximate as different slow cookers will come to temperature slightly differently.
Can I convert cook times between HIGH and LOW?
Yes you can. Below is a conversion chart to show you the comparative cook times for HIGH and LOW.
Note: It is not recommended to convert recipes with cook times less than 7 to 8 hours on LOW or 3 to 4 hours on HIGH.
Do you have any recommendations for typical meats and how long they should be cooked?
Yes we do! Pork Butt Roast, 6 to 7 Lbs. – 9 1/2 hours on LOW or 7 1/2 hours on HIGH. Pork Loin, 3 to 4 Lbs. – 6 hours on LOW or 5 hours on HIGH. Whole Chicken, 6 lbs. – 7 1/2 hours on LOW or 6 1/4 hours on HIGH. Bone-in Turkey Breasts, 6 lbs. – 7 1/2 hours on LOW or 6 1/4 hours on HIGH. Beef Roast, 3 to 4 Lbs. – 8 hours on LOW or 5 3/4 hours on HIGH. Stew Meat, 3 Lbs. – 6 hours on LOW or 4 3/4 hours on HIGH.
How much should I fill my slow cooker?
A slow cooker should be at least 1/2 full to 3/4 full for best results.
Does the water evaporate in a slow cooker?
Slow cookers have very little evaporation. When converting a recipe designed for the stove top remember that your final product may be thicker, adding additional water during or at the end of cooking will help thin it out.
Do I need to stir while cooking in my Crock-Pot?
For most recipes you do not need to stir while cooking. In fact opening the lid to stir decreases the heat inside your slow cooker and thus increases the cooking time. However there are a few recipes that do call for opening and stirring and thus, they have been adjusted for the additional cooking time. So, unless your recipe calls for stirring, don’t. And when you do have a recipe that calls for stirring while cooking, open the lid, give it a quick stir and then close the lid quickly to prevent too much heat loss.
Can I reheat food in my slow cooker?
We don’t recommend reheating foods in your crock-pot. However most ceramic inserts that come with most slow cookers are oven and microwave safe. Please read your instruction manual that came with your slow cooker to see if the crock can go in the microwave or oven.
Do I need to pre-brown meat?
We suggest that you follow the recipe if it calls for pre-browning then go ahead and brown it up. While this is an added step it is usually included to create a more flavorful product and to get rid of excess fat that may alter the flavor of the end result of the the dish.
With recipes that call for ground beef, turkey, chicken or pork (with the exception of some recipes such as meatloaf an meatballs) you will want to cook the meat on the stove-top fully before adding it to the slow cooker.
Is it safe to leave my slow cooker cooking while I am not at home?
Most modern crock-pots are designed to be left cooking away on the counter-top unattended. To ensure that your slow cooker is safe while cooking while unattended place your slow cooker on a clean and flat surface. Make sure that nothing is touching your crock-pot an tuck the cord up and out of the way so that it is not angling off the counter. If you have curious pets that might be tempted to investigate what’s cooking while you are not home it may be wise to make sure the pets do not have access to the kitchen.
How do I prevent over-cooking or under-cooking?
Always fill the stoneware 1/2 to 3/4 full to conform to recommended cook times (with the exception of certain cakes and custards. Also, if a time range is given in a recipe always cook for the shortest amount of time given, check your dish, and only then cook longer if needed.
Is the food in my slow cooker safe if there was a power outage while cooking?
If your power was out for less than 1 hour your food is probably safe to resume cooking and to eat. However if your power was out for more than an hour or you don’t know how long you were without power it is better to be safe than sorry and we do not suggest that you attempt to eat it.
Remember, when it doubt, throw it out!
Do I need to keep the lid on my slow cooker while cooking?
Most recipes require that you cook with the lid on. Unless the recipe calls for it leave the lid on the entire cooking time, especially during the first 2 hours.
Can I start my dish off with frozen meat?
In most cases you can, however you will need to adjust the cooking time to compensate for the frozen meat. Allow an additional 4-6 hours on LOW or 2 hours on HIGH when using frozen meat. Do not place frozen meat inside a dry pre-heated crock-pot as the quick change in temperature can crack your crock
Can I cook pasta in my slow cooker?
Pasta is best cooked in rapidly boiling water. It is best to cook pasta just until tender and then add to the stoneware during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
Can I cook in the stoneware crock on my stove top?
The stoneware cannot withstand the extreme direct heat and will break if placed on a stove top burner. You may use the stoneware in the microwave or oven. However, the tempered glass lid is not suitable for microwave or oven use. We always suggest that you read your specific slow cooker’s user manual to be sure your slow cooker insert is microwave safe.
Can a crock-pot go in the microwave?
Most modern stoneware crock-pot inserts (the actual crock part of your slow cooker) can be used in the microwave. Keep in mind however that the lid is usually not microwave safe and never put the actual heating element in the microwave! If you are in doubt please refer to the owners manual to the specific crock-pot you own.
What size of a crock-pot should I buy?
This will depend partially on the number of people you are cooking for and partially on the type of cooking you are doing.
– For singles a 1 – 1 1/2 quart is ideal. – For a couple a 2 1/2- 3 1/2 quart is perfect. – For a family of 3 to 4 choose a 3 1/2 – 4 1/2 quart. – For families of 4 to 5 choose a 4 1/2 – 5 quart unit. – For feeding 6 or more people a 6 quart is the best option.
Of course a larger size is a great choice if you want to have leftovers to freeze and serve later. Most roasts also fit better in a 5 quart or larger unit.
Can I use aluminum foil or baking bags in my crock-pot?
You sure can! Some recipes even call for wrapping meat and other ingredients in foil and then placing in the stoneware for cooking. It is also fine to place ingredients in baking bags, place in stoneware, cook and then lift the bag our of the stoneware for serving.
What do you think about the disposable crock-pot liners that are available?
We love em! Anything that helps clean up time is a winner in our book. Buy them! There is also a new reusable BPA free silicon slow cooker liner that we love too. You can read our review on it HERE or purchase one for yourself HERE.
My crock-pot recipes turn out too watery, how can I prevent this?
This is probably happening because there is too much water in your recipe. One half to one cup of liquid is sufficient for most recipes that do not call for rice. Also some meats, like chicken are processed with added water, this added water or liquid cooks out and often can make your dishes more watery than you like. To avoid be sure not to add too much liquid and look for chicken and other meats without added water.
When should I add fish or shellfish to my crock pot recipe?
Add raw seafood 30 minutes to 1 hour before the cooking is finished. Add pre-cooked seafood a few minutes before the end of cooking.
Can you provide nutritional information for your recipes?
We have provided the nutritional information for most of our recipes here at Crock-Pot Ladies. If you find a recipe that we have not calculated the nutritional information yet you can use a service like MyFitnessPal to calculate it yourself.
My recipe didn’t turn our right! What did I do wrong?
Our goal is to do our very best to give clear instructions for our recipes. However, without being in the kitchen with you we just don’t know what might have gone wrong. One of the most common reasons for a recipe not coming out correctly are:
Different slow cooker brands cook at different temperature.
Older crock-pots tend to cook lower and slower than newer models. And some brands just run hotter or colder when they cook.
Substituting ingredients or not following the recipe correctly.
Not cooking the proper time and temperature setting as instructed in the recipe.
Water content of food. Sometimes the water content in certain meats and vegetables can really vary and this may cause a recipe to turn out watery or dryer than it should.
Can I prepare all my ingredients in the crock pot in the evening, just the ceramic liner, refrigerate it then put the cold pot in the heating liner, and start cooking immediately?
Yes you can, in fact we do it all the time ourselves on days we know that we are going to be extra busy. Even a teenager can be instructed to get the crock out of the refrigerator, put it on the base and turn it on to cook in the morning before they head off to school!

Can You Put A Crockpot On The Stove? – My Budget Recipes
Yes and no – it really depends on which part of the crockpot you’re talking about.
The outer section of the crockpot – which is to say, all of it – cannot be used on a stovetop. This is because the outermost portion of the appliance is not heat proof, and would begin to melt and burn if it were exposed to heat in any way.
However, the inner bowl of the Crockpot typically can be used on the stove!
It’s a little difficult to say whether the crockpot that you have can be used on the stovetop, as it is different for different makes and models. If you still have the instruction manual that came with your crockpot, then we would recommend consulting with that to ensure whether you can or cannot use it on the hob.
Using the inner chamber of a crockpot on the stove is superb as it means that you can cook in a new and interesting way with your appliance. For a long time, the thing which limits crockpots is the fact that they cannot be used to sear and char the outside of food.
This means that they have long been the dominion of foods like soup and stew, which don’t need to be seared to be properly cooked and ready to eat.
However, if your crockpot’s inner chamber can be used on the stovetop, then you can easily and quickly make a wonderful set of dishes that are ideal for your family.
For example, some meats taste best when the outside of them has been given a chance to sear a little before being incorporated into the rest of the meal.
A great example of this is chicken which is being used with something fairly wet, like a sauce or a stew. Stews have a tendency to be particularly samey, with regards to texture. When a number of similar vegetables have been cooked in the same pot for the same amount of time, they all become a little too similar to distinguish.
However, when cooking with meat like chicken, you can sear the outside edge within a pot to allow for greater distinction. Creating a gently crispy outside on your chicken will mean that the texture of the meal is interesting with every bite. Furthermore, it will allow you to create a meal where the chicken has a flavorful coating of crispiness – just make sure to season the chicken well while it is cooking.
In conclusion, using a crockpot on the stove can be wonderfully tasty and can allow you to make some wonderful food. Therefore, make sure to check your manual to ensure it’s safe, and then get cooking!

Is It Safe To Use On The Stove?
As we said above, it really depends upon what type of pot you have. Once you’ve ensured that you can use your pot on the stove, go right ahead!
You could run into several different problems when using a crockpot on the stove which hasn’t been designed for use in that way. Namely, the two big problems are metal integrity and non-stick coating.
The integrity of the metal used in an older crockpot will likely have decreased over time. This means that it is far less likely to actually withstand the extremely high temperatures of being directly exposed to flame. While it’s unlikely that the pot will melt, you may notice it beginning to discolor and warp. Make sure that you can use your crockpot on a stovetop before attempting it.
The other problem that you might run into is that the non-stick coating within the crockpot may not be designed for exposure to high heat. The first time you run a crockpot or any type of slow cooker, you may notice a slight plastic smell – this is a protective residue from the manufacturing process which evaporates upon heating.
When exposed to more direct heat, the non-stick coating of the inside of the crockpot is liable to go a similar way. This is unfortunate for using the crockpot going forward, plus it could be dangerous – the chemicals may not be safe for human consumption if they leach into your food.
Is There Any Part Of The Crockpot You Can Use On The Stove?
Please talk about if the main dish part of the crockpot can be used on the stove, if no then why and if yes how best to do so and give alternative pots to use on the stove which may be better suited that the dish from the crockpot.
There is – typically you can safely use the internal bowl of your crockpot on the stove for searing and frying food. Of course, we’d always recommend checking the manufacturers’ instructions before actually cooking in this way, but the vast majority of crockpots are suitable for use in this manner.
It’s also a good idea to use your crockpot in this way if you can, it will mean that your food can be more varied and interesting! We covered this in great detail above, but it’s worth briefly mentioning again.
Using your crockpot directly on the stovetop will mean that you can sear and char the outer edges of food in a way that a crockpot cannot on its own. This will result in crispy edges and the locking in of tremendously wonderful flavors – this is sure to make your food outstanding!
If you cannot use your crockpot on the stove, either due to personal reasons or if the pot is just not suited to that, there are other options. Perhaps the best option for a similar pot would be to track down a good dutch oven.
Dutch ovens have been used as a versatile and easy method of cooking for an awfully long time – the thick walls and bases of the pots mean that you can easily cook for a very long time over a very low heat – just like a crockpot. Of course, you do have to attend to the dutch oven more, so that no food burns to the bottom of the pan, but the benefit of using the pan is the heat retention and the benefits of that when frying.
By design, dutch ovens are made of thick metal. Typically this is cast iron, which is often finished with enamel to ensure it has a long life. This thick metal will get hot very slowly, but it will retain heat superbly, leading to impressive heat distribution, which helps to efficiently fry larger objects.
Dutch ovens have been used for centuries as high-quality cooking pots, and they’re still adored today. If you do get one, try to ensure that you get one that has a lid with dimples on the inside. This way, any evaporations which condense on the lid of the pot during the cooking process will drip back down, leading to a more intense and lovely flavor.
Which pan to choose for a gas stove – requirements and overview of materials
If you are puzzled over which pan to choose for a gas stove, carefully study the advantages and disadvantages of all possible options.
Don’t get hung up on the usual steel and aluminum models. Modern manufacturers have adapted glass and ceramics for open fire, significantly expanding the choices. For aluminum “old women” there are new types of coatings that are resistant to fading.
In this publication:
Gas stove pot requirements
Almost any pot will work on a gas stove. The main thing is to take into account some features of open fire. During cooking, the main heating occurs in the bottom area, so it should be thick.
Pay attention to cookware with a multi-layer bottom , it is also called capsule. Such a bottom consists of several layers made of different metals. The number of layers and materials depends on the manufacturer. Capsule technology is usually used for steel utensils. Food in such a pan cooks much faster.
When choosing cookware made of cast iron or aluminum, look for models that have grooves or a circle on the bottom, allowing you to increase the heating surface and speed up the cooking process without the risk of food sticking.
A good gas cooker doesn’t have to be very expensive. The main thing is compliance with the requirements:
Flat bottom. A product with a flat bottom has a large area of contact with fire, respectively, it warms up faster and more evenly. In addition, it is more stable on the stove.
Tight fitting lid. The lid must not only fit tightly, but also be heavy enough not to fall off when tilted 45°. A good pot should have handles screwed on but not welded. If you want to make cooking more comfortable, choose cookware with silicone or Bakelite coated handles. Please note that this is not suitable for cooking in the oven.
Surface free from wear and tear. Even the slightest scratches inside can lead not only to burning, but also to the saturation of food with harmful metals.
Overview of cookware by materials
The speed and quality of cooking any dish largely depends on the material from which the cookware is made. But, given the variety of models presented on store shelves, choosing the right one is not an easy task.
What aluminum cookware should look like
An aluminum pan is ideal for cooking pasta, dumplings, dumplings, eggs, milk on a gas stove. In order not to spoil the taste of dishes, and at the same time dishes, it is important to take into account some features of the material.
Advantages:
Lightweight – easy to clean and store on shelves.
High thermal conductivity – reduces the duration of the cooking process.
Price – Compared to other types of cooking pots, aluminum ones are relatively inexpensive.
Disadvantages:
Reacts with acids, so it is absolutely not suitable for the preparation of products prone to oxidation.
Loses appearance over time.
Easily damaged, causing metal oxides to adhere to products during heat treatment.
Experienced sellers, advising which pans are better to buy for a gas stove, recommend cast thick-walled ones with a wall thickness of more than 1.5 mm and a bottom thickness (extremely flat) of more than 3 mm.
Attention! Please note that aluminum utensils that are not covered with an additional protective layer (enamel) cannot be used to store food. In this case, metal oxides begin to react with products and poison them, and aluminum itself is oxidized.
Stainless steel pots and their features
Stainless steel pans have long been a favorite in professional kitchens because of their many features that make them more versatile.
Advantages:
High thermal conductivity – food cooks very quickly. When cooking some dishes, you can remove the pan from the heat 5-10 minutes before the end of cooking.
Environmentally friendly – the material does not contain toxic compounds and does not come into contact with food in any way.
Durability – with proper care and proper use, the cookware will last for several years.
Strength and resistance to deformation – steel is not at all afraid of scratches, mechanical impact, chips.
At the same time, steel kitchen utensils are expensive, take a long time to warm up and eventually lose their aesthetic appearance. Indelible spots, stains appear on the surface.
A steel pot is most suitable for stewing and cooking first courses, but frying in this dish is best avoided.
When choosing, pay attention to the marking that is marked on the packaging or on the bottom of the product itself: 18/10, 12/13, 08/13 or 12/18. This is the quantitative ratio of chromium (first digit) and nickel (second) in a steel alloy. The more chromium the steel contains, the higher quality it is considered to be. The best of the existing indicators is the first among those presented in the list. This alloy is called medical steel.
In addition, it is important to consider the thickness of the walls and bottom: ideally, the larger the number, the better. So, the thickness of the bottom should exceed 3 mm, the walls – 0.5 mm. Such a pan will provide uniform fast heating and cooking without the risk of burning.
Practical cast iron cookware
Cast iron has always been famous for its “endurance”: such cookware can be used for any manipulation of food, as well as cooking in the oven.
Real cast iron has a number of undoubted advantages:
Durable – with proper care it will last for many years.
Durable – the material is not afraid of mechanical impact (chips, scratches, abrasives).
Eco-friendly – does not oxidize or react with food.
Versatile – suitable for cooking both on the stove and in the oven.
You can boil, fry and stew absolutely any food in a cast iron saucepan.
But there are also disadvantages:
Cannot be used to store prepared food for more than two days.
Susceptibility to strong shocks and falls: despite its strength, cast iron can crack from such impact.
Long heating time, which greatly increases the cooking process.
It’s rare to find real cast iron on the market these days: there are often many combination alloys on store shelves. How to choose a cast iron pan for a gas stove so that it serves for a long time, delighting with its quality and versatility?
Quality cast iron is bound to be very heavy, porous and dark. If the surface is very smooth or the weight of the dishes is small, then you most likely have an alloy containing cast iron. A solid cast-iron pan with a volume of about 3 liters weighs about 3.5-4 kg.
Is it possible to cook on a gas stove in glassware? Transparency and originality have earned them the reputation of comfortable and fashionable dishes. Glass pans are suitable for cooking first courses, side dishes and desserts on a gas stove if you use a special flame spreader.
Advantages:
Practicality – easy to care for, do not allow food to burn.
Durability – the glass is heat-treated, so it can withstand prolonged exposure to high temperatures.
Durability – will last for years.
Aesthetic appearance – a very stylish and modern look makes heat-resistant glass pots ideal for trendy, tasteful kitchens.
Disadvantages:
Brittleness – for all its strength, pans made of glass can break when dropped or from a strong blow.
Inconvenient to use – requires a special fire spreader.
Limited – it is undesirable to use glass for long-term stewing or frying foods.
A few tips for choosing the right glass pan for your gas stove:
The cookware must be made of heat-resistant glass.
Do not buy models made of glass in combination with inserts of other materials.
You will need a special attachment (fire spreader) that will allow you to cook without risk.
The glass must be completely transparent and without air bubbles. Marriage can lead to the fact that the pan will burst during the heating process.
Ceramic pots for open flames
Ceramic pots for cooking on a gas stove are ideal, but require (like glass ones) the use of a special fire spreader. It is convenient to use ceramics for stewing, frying, cooking complex dishes (including meat) in the oven.
Pots made of ceramic are not inferior to those made of other materials: they are also suitable for use on a gas burner.
Advantages:
High heat capacity – food cooks faster and stays warm for a long time even after cooking.
Environmentally friendly material – ceramic is completely harmless to the body .
Possibility of long-term storage of food – cooked foods can be stored for several days without fear of spoiling their taste.
The quality of cooking – thanks to the layer of glaze that covers the ceramic pan, the products during the heat treatment do not stick to its walls and bottom.
Disadvantages:
High price – ceramic tableware on the market is presented in a more expensive price segment than metal.
Susceptibility to abrasives, metal cutlery.
Fear of strong mechanical shocks and sharp temperature fluctuations – the dishes can not only break with a strong blow, but also easily burst if they are placed immediately on fire from the refrigerator or, having been removed from the fire, lowered into cold water.
When choosing a suitable ceramic dish for a gas stove, it is important to remember three criteria: .7 cm),
price (good ceramics are never cheap).
Deciding on the choice of a high-quality and inexpensive pan for a gas stove, be sure to go over the main points again with a description of the features and disadvantages of certain materials.
Standing in front of the shelves in the store with a large assortment of kitchen utensils, remember that high-quality dishes should be heavy enough, thick-walled, without defects and not the cheapest. Enjoy the shopping! And don’t forget to properly store your new pots!
How to choose a pan for a gas, electric or induction hob? | Household Community
To learn how to choose a pot, it is not enough to focus only on an attractive design and a big name of a well-known brand. From some of the nuances of the purchase, imperceptible at first glance, depends on the life and ease of use of such an important kitchen accessory.
Which pan is best?
The quality of a meal and the ease of preparation depend on the right utensils. The pan is one of the actively used items, so it must have increased wear resistance. It is important to consider the material from which the manufacturer made it, the presence of handles and a lid. Among the criteria to find out which pans are the best is the type of hob. The dishes that are suitable for one type of stove are incompatible with the second, but consultants in stores are silent about this. There are the following types of plates:
gas;
electric;
induction.
Which pans are better to buy for a gas stove?
Gas-fired stoves are considered the most common due to their ease of connection and low cost compared to other models. This explains the fact that the dishes for them are the easiest to find, because almost all of its refractory varieties are suitable. In this case, special knowledge is not needed to understand how to choose pans for a kitchen with a gas type of cooking. For her, the best solution would be such types of these dishes as:
Cast iron. The iron alloy for this cookware combines with carbon, silicon and phosphorus at a temperature of 1400 degrees, so the pan will withstand many hours of stewing berries and fruits or thick soups.
Glass or hardened ceramic. In order not to take risks when deciding how to choose a pan that can break when heated on a gas fire, you need to purchase a divider for it.
Enamelled. A pan made of metal is covered with enamel by pouring, which protects food from contact with steel and oxidative reactions.
How to choose pans for an induction hob?
The process of selecting cookware for a hot plate heated by a strong magnetic field can be considered an exciting experience. You don’t have to guess which pots for an induction stove are better if you take a magnet with you to the store. You need to attach it to any copy you like to make sure that the dishes can be bought. If the magnet sticks to the bottom of the pan, it is allowed to use. In this way, you can make sure that aluminum, glass and ceramics are absolutely not suitable. The list of materials recommended for the pot includes:
stainless steel;
cast iron;
aluminium, ferromagnetic coated.
Which pans are suitable for electric stoves?
The surface of an electric hot plate can be easily damaged by heavy pot elements with sharpened or deformed edges during manufacture. Therefore, in response to the question of which pans are better to buy for an electric stove, experts recommend paying attention to cast rather than stamped dishes. It is better if it meets two more criteria:
The optimum wall thickness should be 5-6 mm. As much as one would like to choose a low weight pot, it will heat up too quickly and its contents will burn or form a high foam.
The diameter of the bottom must match the circumference of the burner. If the bottom is larger or smaller than the heating element, the food will cook slowly and come out dry instead of juicy.
What is the best material for pans?
The question of the superiority of one dish material over others is a philosophical one. In order to understand how to choose a good pot made of quality material, you need to soberly assess the frequency of future use, financial capabilities and the number of family members. Traditionally reliable materials for commonly used pots and stews include:
stainless steel;
aluminum;
ceramics;
fire-resistant glass;
Teflon;
cast iron.
Aluminum pots
Aluminum was considered the most common in the Soviet Union because it was cheap and easy to clean. This material quickly conducts heat, which saves gas and electricity, while it is practically not subject to corrosion. Cast aluminum pans, when in contact with fruit and lactic acids, deliver toxins to food if you do not choose it taking into account the following recommendations:
Safety cover. Stone or iron alloys prevent aluminum from releasing poisons into cooked food.
Short storage time in a container. The process of reaction of metal with food occurs with prolonged contact, therefore, after cooking is completed, the food must be transferred to another container.
Cleaning with mild products. Aggressive chemicals break the tightness of the pot cover.
Ceramic pots
In favor of any kitchen utensils made of this material is its absolute environmental friendliness and safety for humans. Ceramics do not emit any impurities and odors, so you don’t have to decide which pots are better – coated or uncoated. It is resistant to frequent use, mechanical damage and abrasion. True, ceramics also have their drawbacks:
Fragility. This is the main flaw: no matter how hard you try to choose a strong pan, it will still break if it falls on the floor. Strong blows for the same reason leave chips on the material.
Slow warm up. It makes no sense to boil eggs or sausages in ceramic dishes, because this process will take too long due to the thick walls of the container.
Stone coated saucepan
Cookware can be made entirely of stone or covered with a layer of stone chips. The composition of the stone does not contain perforakinovoy acid, which is found in artificial materials and tends to accumulate in the liver and kidneys. Anyone who knows how to choose the right stone-coated pan will advise you to pay attention to the following aspects:
The need to use extinguishing oil. High-quality stoneware gives the advantage of simmering and frying dishes without adding fat.
Washing method. The denser the layer of stone chips, the less means are required to remove contaminants from the surface of the walls and the day. The highest quality specimens can be wiped with a clean cloth.
Wear resistance. Cookware packaging must state that it can withstand a minimum of 50,000 scratches.
Glass pots
The unusual look of transparent glass pots scares away many housewives who refuse them because of their apparent fragility and impracticality. The material used for them is durable refractory glass, which does not crack even when dropped. A heat-resistant glass pan does not impart extraneous tastes and odors to the food cooked in it. The main criteria for choosing reliable dishes should be:
the presence of a lid;
thick walls and bottom;
resistance to sudden changes in temperature.
Titanium-coated pan
The main feature of the titanium coating is its exceptional resistance to damage and everyday wear and tear. Titanium is not applied by spraying, but is fused into the metal, so it cannot be erased when cleaning with a sponge and abrasive powders. You can find out which pans are better to buy by asking the seller about such features of a particular model as:
The presence of an anti-corrosion coating that will help protect the dishes from dark spots and cracks.
Safe use of metal cutlery. Sometimes faced with the search for an answer to the question of how to choose a pan, the buyer finds out that the titanium layer is too thin and, with apparent strength, can be damaged by a metal spatula or ladle.
How to choose a stainless steel pot
The range of stainless steel pans is poor in terms of color and design compared to the variety of designs of other options. From the point of view of practical application, and not appearance, you won’t have to think for a long time which pans are the best: stainless steel is the only material that is not afraid of chips and burns. Tips for choosing stainless steel cookware are as follows:
It is better to buy household utensils in specialized stores, otherwise you can run into a fake from a different alloy, which does not guarantee such properties.
Don’t go for a low price because stainless steel just can’t be cheap.
To ensure uniform and rapid heating, the lid must fit snugly against the rim of the pot – this should be checked immediately before purchasing the selected model.
Enameled cast iron pans
Cast iron utensils are similar in properties to stone utensils, but only if they do not have an enamel coating. In order to understand how to choose an enamel pan with a layer of enamel, and not with a fake coating, you only need to look at the inside of the pan. It should have a glossy black, white or colored finish without roughness and sagging. There should not be a single chip on it – this is a direct indication of a ban on heating.
Saucepan size classification
In the household, even a single person needs a set of several pots. It is unrealistic to cook borscht, sausages and compote in the same dish. A classification based on pot sizes will help you decide which one to purchase:
1-1.5L. Sausages, eggs for breakfast or a child’s portion of porridge are boiled in dishes of such a modest volume.
2-3 l. The medium saucepan is used more often than others because it can be used to cook dinner for 2-3 people, heat up soup or cook semi-finished products.
4-5 l. In a large or infrequently cooking family, a pot of this size will save time on frequent cooking.
Which brand of pots are the best?
High-quality cookware for the stove can hardly be found in the low price segment, which includes Russian and Asian manufacturers. Products with a premium or medium price tag are the best pans, no matter what brand they are. Those who still need specific brands should explore the range of brands such as:
Tefal. Cookware with a non-stick coating and a heat sensor is treated with a special mineral that reliably prevents the penetration of dangerous substances from metal into food. It is the leader in sales, winning from year to year in the ratings of household appliances.
Ballarini. The Italian company is among the leaders due to the special composition of raw materials for kitchen utensils – a mixture of aluminum and copper. For those who are not sure that they know how to choose a pan for all occasions, the manufacturer advises universal models with a granite coating.

If you’re an Apple user, you’re likely pretty cozy in their ecosystem. If you have an iPhone, iPad, Mac, iPod, or all of the above, you’ve likely looked into what Apple offers for headphones. They’ve released a few headphones, mainly under Apple’s AirPods lineup and their subsidiary brand, Beats, but they don’t have a wide selection to choose from. As such, not all recommendations on this list will utilize Apple’s W1/h2 and h3 chips, which let headphones pair to your many Apple devices seamlessly. It’s not strictly necessary, and any Bluetooth headphones will still work with Apple devices. Additionally, since newer iPhones no longer have a headphone jack, opting for a wireless pair of headphones is easier.
We’ve tested over 230 wireless in-ears and earbuds, below are our top recommendations for the best wireless earbuds for iPhone users to purchase. See our recommendations for the best wireless earbuds, the best earbuds with a mic, and the best truly wireless earbuds.

The Apple AirPods Pro (2nd generation) Truly Wireless are the best wireless earbuds for iPhone we’ve tested. These premium and iconic buds are a good choice for anyone looking for the full Apple experience. These headphones have an updated h3 chip instead of the h2 chip found in their predecessor, the Apple AirPods Pro Truly Wireless. While it lets you seamlessly pair the buds with other Apple devices, it also improves their audio reproduction by automatically adjusting their bass and treble levels depending on your listening volume. Additionally, they support Apple Music’s Spatial Audio—a feature that orients compatible audio with your head movements, creating a more immersive experience. Their ANC also eliminates much of the low rumbly noise from engines during a commute, making it easier to hear your music in busy environments.
They offer versatile overall performance and will do well whether you’re traveling, exercising at the gym, or plugging away at the office. While their six-hour battery life won’t last longer workdays, the carrying case holds four extra charges and brings your buds back to 100% in less than an hour. Their sound profile is warm and well-balanced, with better bass extension than the first generation. Thanks to their adaptive EQ, which adjusts the sound based on the shape of your ear, you’ll get consistent playback every time you use them. Even though they don’t have any built-in sound customization features, you can access limited adjustment features via the ‘Accessibility’ tab using a compatible iOS device.

If you want Apple’s AirPod design without spending top dollar for their flagship model, consider the Apple AirPods (3rd generation) Truly Wireless. While they’re not as feature-heavy as our top pick, the Apple AirPods Pro (2nd generation) Truly Wireless have an open-back, one-size-fits-all build that some users may prefer. This design doesn’t block background noise, and the buds leak audio at high volumes. However, they’re lightweight, sleek, and have an h2 chip for seamless pairing with other devices in your Apple ecosystem.
Like our top pick, they have an adaptive EQ that adjusts the buds’ sound to your unique ear shape. It creates a well-balanced and bright sound profile, but the buds still struggle to make a thumpy low-bass due to their open-back design. They also don’t have an EQ in their companion app, but you can adjust some basic audio settings if you have a compatible iOS device via the ‘Accessibility’ tab. They also have a 6.8-hour continuous battery life, and their carrying case holds roughly five additional charges. Unfortunately, the buds don’t have volume controls, which is inconvenient.

While the Apple-friendly Sony WF-C700N Truly Wireless are the best we’ve tested in the mid-range, you’re going to lose out on a lot of proprietary features by choosing a pair of buds not manufactured by Apple, but they don’t currently make mid-range wireless earbuds. The Sony don’t have an h2 or h3 chip like our previous picks, but can still easily pair to your device via the button on their charging case. They do a good job cutting out ambient chit-chat and the high-pitched hum of an AC unit, but they won’t keep you isolated from low-frequency background noise, like a rumbly bus or plane engine. They’re also rated IPX4 for protection against water splashes.
Their default sound profile is well-balanced and versatile enough for all kinds of audio content. Unlike Apple’s wireless headphones, the Sony’s sound profile can be fine-tuned using their companion app’s graphic EQ and presets. While they aren’t compatible with Apple Music’s Spacial Audio, they have their own proprietary virtual soundstage called 360 Audio. However, a subscription to a compatible streaming service like Tidal will be required. Their battery lasts around eight hours with ANC on, but their carrying case only comes with one additional charge, which is disappointing compared to the Apple AirPods (3rd generation) Truly Wireless’ five.

In the budget price range, the Beats Flex Wireless are the best earphones for iPhone we’ve tested. They don’t have as many features as other picks on this list, but they still offer solid performance for their budget price. They come in a few colors to match your style and have a W1 chip, making connecting them to your other Apple devices easy. The W1 chip is an older processor than the h2 or h3 chips, so you can’t benefit from features like ‘Hey Siri’ voice activation. Fortunately, they still have low iOS latency, ensuring your audio and visuals stay in sync.
These in-ears have a neck cable design, so you can wear them around your neck when not in use. Unfortunately, their low price is reflected in their durability, as some users have reported that their units stopped working within a year of purchasing them. Their bass-heavy sound profile is well-suited for genres like EDM and hip-hop, thanks to their extra thump and boom. However, unlike our mid-range pick, they don’t have an EQ to help you adjust their sound.

Despite the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds II Truly Wireless’ lack of Apple-centric features like Spatial Audio or an h3 chip, these premium in-ears have one of the best noise cancelling systems on the market. Their powerful ANC easily isolates you from the low rumble of bus engines and ambient office chatter. With their ANC on, they last nearly seven hours on a single charge and have three additional charges in the carrying case. That’s longer than the Apple AirPods Pro (2nd generation) Truly Wireless, but they may not last a whole workday without recharging.
These buds have a more bass-heavy sound profile than what we measure. This is because of the shape of our test rig’s ears, which affects bass delivery. Subjectively, the buds deliver more boom than our graph shows, and it muddies vocals and instruments. You can customize their sound to your liking using their app’s 5-band graphic EQ and presets. Stability is also great as these in-ears come with different sizes of ear tips and stability fins, allowing you to get the right fit for your listening experience.

The Beats Powerbeats Pro Truly Wireless are the best wireless earphones for iPhone for sports we’ve tested. Thanks to their ear-hook design, they stay in place during runs or workouts at the gym. They’re significantly more stable in-ear than the similarly priced Apple AirPods (3rd generation) Truly Wireless, which helps cement them as one of the best wireless earbuds for running and working out. They’re also comfortable, well-built, and are rated IPX4 for resistance against water splashes, so they’ll survive an outdoor hike. They last over 11 hours continuously on a single charge, and their carrying case holds roughly one extra charge, which is handy in a pinch.
Thanks to their h2 chip, you can seamlessly pair them with Apple devices like your iPhone. However, they don’t support Apple’s Spatial Audio or Adaptive EQ features, and their companion interface leaves much to be desired. Luckily, they have a fairly neutral sound profile, so they’re versatile and well-suited for different types of audio. They don’t have any sound customization features, though.

Our recommendations above are what we think are currently the best wireless headphones for iPhone for most people to buy. We factor in the price (cheaper headphones win over pricier ones if the difference isn’t worth it), feedback from our visitors, and availability (no headphones that are difficult to find or almost out of stock everywhere).
If you would like to choose for yourself, here is the list of all our reviews for wireless earbuds and in-ear headphones, sorted by Bluetooth iOS latency. Be careful not to get caught up in the details. There are no perfect headphones. Personal taste, preference, and listening habits will matter more in your selection.
Does The iPhone 12 Have A Headphone Jack?
If you’re thinking about getting an iPhone 12 but are unsure about whether it has a headphone jack, here’s everything you need to know…
Apple’s iPhone 12 was the first iPhone series to ship with 5G. Similarly, it was also the first whereby ALL models, including the entry-level iPhone 12 and the iPhone 12 mini, came with OLED displays which were previously reserved for Apple’s Pro models.
Does iPhone 12 Have Headphone Jack?
None of Apple’s iPhone 12 models, including the Pro, Mini, and standard ones, have a 3.5mm headphone jack. In fact, no iPhone has shipped with a headphone jack since the iPhone 6s / iPhone 6s Plus and the iPhone SE. Apple wants its users to use wireless headphones, like its AirPods.
You can use 3.5mm headphones with the iPhone 12, however, but you’ll need to use a Lightning to 3.5mm jack adapter. Mercifully, these adapters are very cheap. But so too are loads of wireless headphones these days as well. Even Apple’s first-generation AirPods, now a few years old, can be picked up for next to nothing.
If you want to listen to any audio on headphones via your iPhone 12, you will need to do it wirelessly via Bluetooth. Apple says it did away with the iPhone’s 3.5mm headphone jack in order to make the chassis thinner. It just so happened that this change in heart with respect to the iPhone’s design happened at exactly the same time its AirPods went on sale.
The iPhone 12 has now been replaced by the iPhone 13 too, though I wouldn’t let this put you off getting one. You can pick up all of Apple’s iPhone 12 models refurbished now for around 40% less than they were when they were current – and 40% is a big saving.
All of the phones in the iPhone 12 range, with the exception of the iPhone 12 mini, have decent battery life, though not quite as good as the iPhone 11’s or the iPhone 13’s, although the camera tech available on the iPhone 12 is, of course, much superior to the now-aging iPhone 11.
Plus, if you get an iPhone 12 now, it will get iOS updates until well into the late-2020s, meaning you won’t need to think about updating your phone for at least another four or five years. The iPhone 12 has everything you’ll ever need, including 5G. For this reason, it is a great option for those looking to spend a little less money in 2022.
Best Wireless Headphones For iPhone 12?
If you’re new to iPhone and wireless headphones and don’t really know where to look with regards to the best wireless headphones, do not be put off – there are loads of options, of course, but most of the mid-range wireless headphones you can get these days are more than adequate for most users. Basically, you don’t have to break the bank to get decent-sounding wireless earbuds.
Personally, I’m a massive fan of the Bose QC35II headphones; I’ve used these for a couple of years now and they are phenomenal. They’re not cheap, though, and if you’re after something more cost-effective, I’d go with these brilliant ones from Soundcore – they’re only $59.99 and they sound great and will do 9 hours between charges (that’s five hours more than Apple’s AirPods).

Apple yesterday unveiled its iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Mini, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max smartphones, all four models reportedly shipped without EarPods and power adapter in the box. Starting today, these accessories will no longer be bundled with older Apple smartphones: iPhone 11, iPhone XR and iPhone SE.
Apple’s official website encourages customers to use existing power adapters and headphones or purchase these accessories separately. To sweeten things up a bit, Apple has slashed the price of its Lightning EarPods from $29 to $19. The new price in Russia is 1990 ₽ (for comparison, headphones are sold in re:Store for 2490 ₽).
Apple’s new 20W power adapter for iPhone is also sold at a lower price of $19 (1990 ₽ in Russia) versus $29 (2990 ₽ – in re:Store) for the discontinued 18W power adapter that was still included with the iPhone 11.
calculated that the move reduces carbon emissions and reduces the mining and use of rare earths. As a result, iPhone 12 models also ship in a more compact box, reducing shipping costs.
Apple added that many customers have already switched to wireless AirPods and wireless charging of smartphones, and that there are more than two billion power adapters it has released worldwide: most people simply do not need these accessories. Last month, the Apple Watch Series 6 and Apple Watch SE launched without power adapters in the box, so it’s no wonder the iPhone followed suit. However, all iPad models still come with power adapters.

In the TOP of the best wireless headphones for iPhone, I included full-size, on-ear and TWS bluetooth headphones . A good headset for the iPhone should support Apple’s proprietary AAC codec. This provides the best sound quality.
We have reviewed 650 earphone models and I have selected 15 headsets that are best for iPhone. ALL wireless headphones in this rating are 100% compatible with iPhone models, from iPhone 5 to iPhone 13.
Wired headsets are not included in this TOP best headphones for iPhone due to low popularity in 2023. Apple got rid of the 3.5mm jack with the release of the iPhone 7 back in 2016. But old versions of the iPhone are sold and wired headphones for iPhone are still relevant. If you are looking for exactly wired headphones for iPhone, then you are in the rating of wired headphones.

⚖️ What are the best wireless headphones to buy for iPhone? 5 important points:
Which wireless headphones are suitable for iPhone? Any with work via Bluetooth channel, more about the compatibility of headphones with iPhone.
Codec AAC . Apple has developed its own AAC codec to improve Bluetooth audio quality. In the Apple ecosystem, iPhones only support the AAC codec and the default SBC. It makes no sense to buy wireless Bluetooth headphones with support for AptX or LDAC codecs, just overpay for functions you don’t need. Why is Apple refusing to support high definition codecs? The answer is simple: you have to pay for licenses, but Apple sees no point in this, the AAC implementation gives a sound no worse than aptX.
Form factor TWS . True Wireless headphones sound decent, at the level of full-size wireless headphones. Therefore, it is preferable to choose fully wireless TWS headphones for iPhone, they are compact, comfortable, with comfortable autonomy (on average 24 hours) and are in no way inferior to large models. There are interesting TWS headphones for iPhone in the TOP. The best in sound are from Sennheiser, the best in ergonomics are from Apple. If you’re more comfortable with large headband headphones, I’ve included the best of these for iPhone.
Apple’s iPhone wireless headphones are high : from $150 for AirPods 2 and $300 for the top-end AirPods Pro. And the overpriced $550 AirPods Max are not worth the money. Original Apple earbuds are the best fit for iPhone in terms of comfort and stability. The Apple ecosystem is good and convenient. But in terms of sound, you can choose the best options.
I want to warn against buying Chinese fake AirPods . They are cheap, they look like Apple headphones, but the quality is even at the small price for which they are sold. Miser pays twice. The best ones are to buy headphones for $40-50 and use them with pleasure for 2-3 years than consumer goods with Ali for $10 and throw them away after a month because of a breakdown. If you’re looking for affordable, quality iPhone headphones that look like AirPods but cost 5 times less, check out our ranking of the best Airpods replicas under $50. There is no consumer goods. High-quality and cheap headphones can be “not only everything” 😉 .

12 Bose Noise Canceling Headphones 700
Wireless headphones for iPhone 7 – good sound and noise reduction
This model is a good wireless headphones for iPhone also because it does not support high-resolution codecs, like the iPhone. At least don’t overpay for unnecessary aptX codecs. So – a minus in dignity. 😉 By the way, we have a rating of Bluetooth codecs – an article-educational program.
Bose QuietComfort Earbuds – wireless headphones with microphone for iPhone 5 and any other model. TWS option from Bose for those who don’t like big headphones. Back in the fourth generation, they cut out support for aptX codecs. And in the fifth they did not return. Now these are, one might say, wireless iPhone headphones. 😛 AAC is there, aptX is not. And let’s leave LDAC support outside the brackets. And the design became similar to AirPods Max.

10 Beyerdynamic Aventho Wireless
Bluetooth headphones for iPhone — the best sound among over-ear headsets under $500
Beyerdynamic Aventho Wireless are Bluetooth headphones for iPhone for those who like an overhead form factor and an “expensive” stylish design. The sound is universal and reliable: suitable for any music: from dance to classical.
Metal, leather, stylish design – you immediately feel an expensive thing. Even if the iPhone does not reveal their potential by 100%, because the “apple” smartphone does not support aptX HD, but using AAC this model sounds better than many analogues. By the way, we have a rating of expensive headphones of different formats.
Beyerdynamic in these wireless Bluetooth headphones (for iPhone) were able to realize what not many people can do: comfort for extended wear. After all, you get tired of overhead headphones in just an hour or so. But Aventho Wireless can be worn without discomfort for significantly longer.
9 Shanling MTW200
Best Budget Wireless Earbuds for iPhone Under $100 – Bass Sound
Shanling MTW200 are the best budget wireless headphones for iPhone under $100, which will suit lovers of high-quality sound and bass. In terms of sound, these are the best budget wireless headphones for iPhone. By the way, we have a whole rating of headphones with powerful bass. The design is good too. The model looks stylish, especially in silver color. But there is also a gray version with a matte finish. With “apple” technology, both look good.
Another nice feature is autonomy up to 9 hours. Oh yes. The format is “with legs”, like AirPods. Apple lovers will love it. 😉

Another (besides the sound) reason why the Sennheiser Momentum 4 Wireless are great headphones for the iPhone (including the XR and XS) is their technology. Smart pause, excellent noise reduction and unique features in the app. Landing is reliable and comfortable, the assembly is of high quality. Too bad they don’t add up. Touch control, there is IPX7 moisture protection – the headphones are not afraid of water. There are just no additional functions, but if you only need sound, these are the best wireless headphones for iPhone in their price category.

💎 Choosing the best headphones for iPhone – it’s important to know:
Which headphones are suitable for iPhone? Pro Compatibility
Connect Airpods to other devices and connect any headphones to iPhone
iPhone connectors and adapters for wired headphones
Headphones included with iPhone, is it worth buying others at all?
Return to the top of the ranking – to view the best headphones for iPhone
1. Which headphones are suitable for iPhone? Pro Compatibility
Which wireless headphones are suitable for iPhone?
Any. Best of all, with AAC codec support and without aptX.
Which wired headphones are suitable for iPhone?
Any “consumer” ones. Expensive audiophile models are, of course, redundant. There is no need to shoot sparrows from a cannon. Good wire plugs for $20-100 are the best option. But, of course, not all versions of the iPhone are wired in principle. 😉
Do regular headphones fit iPhone?
Xiaomi, JBL and any other brands, everything is fine. There is no such thing as “licensed headphones for iPhone. By and large, any headphones designed for modern phones will fit (that is, they will work in principle) to the iPhone.
2. Connect any wireless headphones to iPhone and Airpods to any device
Can I connect iPhone headphones to a computer and use their microphone?
Yes, you can. Most often, the process of connecting AirPods to a computer does not cause problems. And not only to the MacBook, but also to the PC on Windows. This is discussed in detail in our dedicated article. The microphone of any headset from Apple for the iPhone, of course, will also work when connected to a PC. Most likely, without additional settings. But, even if there are problems, they are all easily solved.
Can any wireless headphones be connected to an iPhone?
Yes. The iPhone supports the standard SBC codec (which can be used by any Bluetooth headphones), so you can connect headphones from Samsung, Sony, Xiaomi, and any other manufacturer to your iPhone. But, most likely, without “magic”. 😉
Can I use headphones from iPhone with Android and vice versa?
Of course. iPhone earbuds will work with any Android phone. Except for wired EarPods with proprietary lightning plug. This interface is available only for Apple technology.
What are the iPhone headphone apps?
AirPods and other headphones from Apple do not require additional applications when connected to an iPhone. For many high-quality models from well-known manufacturers (Sennheiser, Sony, Marshall and others), there are proprietary iPhone applications. Just like for Android. But all models can work without special applications.
3. iPhone connectors and adapters for wired headphones
As you know, since the iPhone 7, Apple smartphones have lost the 3.5 mm audio jack . And what kind of iPhone connector was “responsible” for sound transmission? Lightning. And the Bluetooth wireless interface, of course. Considering that literally a couple of headphone models have lightning plugs (one of them is EarPods), the iPhone, one might say, has ceased to support a wired connection. Or not?
The Chinese were the first to react: from the moment the iPhone 7 was released to the present, it is easy to find an inexpensive lightning to 3.5 mm mini-jack adapter on Aliexpress (and similar sites). Yes, this is an additional link, but this is almost the only option to connect regular wired headphones to an iPhone. Another option is more exotic: a 3.5 mm to Bluetooth adapter. But this is not the best idea for many reasons.

¿Consensual o no consensual?

Buy Waterproof Case for AirPods Pro by Catalyst® – Catalyst Case US
Waterproof IP67 – 1m/3.3ft The AirPods Pro (Gen 1) and AirPods Pro (Gen 2) are not waterproof or sweatproof. They weren’t designed for use in the shower, those mishaps where coffee or wine spill on your device, or those misadventures with food!
Enter the Catalyst Waterproof case. The case is waterproof up to IP67- 1m/3.3ft and features a unique one-piece foldable design, which incorporates patented waterproof sealing ribs to prevent water, dust, and dirt from entering your AirPods (Gen 2/1), keeping them safe and clean, reducing exposure to dirt and bacteria that could otherwise cause ear infections. The waterproof plug at the base of the case offers easy access to charge the device, but also seals out water from the charging port.
Unique One-Piece Foldable Design Keeps AirPods from falling out The Waterproof Case for the AirPods Pro (Gen 2/1) is designed to survive drops of up to 1. 2m/4ft (MIL-STD-810G) and protects the device against scratches, drops or other impacts that can affect the Charging Case’s water resistance and inbuilt acoustic membranes. The premium soft silicone material holds the device securely with its non-slip grip and the pattern textured design. The one-piece foldable design wraps around the Charging Case when folded up, so that even after a drop, the lid will stay closed and the AirPods will not pop out. Secure the case with the complimentary premium carabiner, and you’re ready to tackle the urban jungle or an adventure in the wild.
Never Lose Your AirPods Pro To fully protect the AirPods Pro (Gen 2/1) against water and drops, the lanyard loop, speaker and vent of the device are fully sealed and covered inside the case. What’s more, the case does not interfere with the Ultra Wideband transmission of the device, so the Precision Finding feature of Find Nearby can be used to locate it using the Find My app with iOS 16, even if it’s fallen into a crevice of a couch or hiding under a stack of mail. The high frequency sound transmitted by the Play Sound feature, is also clearly audible through the Waterproof case.
Premium Soft Silicone, Wireless Charging Compatible Our case is compatible with wireless/Qi-certified charging mats. The material is easy to clean and disinfect, won’t stress crack and it doesn’t attenuate wireless charging speed. In fact, testing conducted by Catalyst and by an independent third party testing lab for the AirPods Pro (Gen 1) found the wireless charging inside our case has an up to 40-minutes faster charging time compared to competitor cases made of other materials, such as polycarbonate. Battery life depends on device settings, environment, usage, and many other factors.

Catalyst Total Protection for iPhone
Cover that gives you water resistance up to 10 meters deep, drop resistance reaches 2 meters in line with military protection standards, you can disinfect using suitable products to kill germs within all day of use, all while maintaining the good experience of using our iPhone.
Made entirely of plastic, this case completely protects our iPhone, even the screen. Of course, this means an increase in size and thickness, but nothing very significant, and it’s very light, so the already heavy iPhone 12 Pro Max won’t increase its weight. . Its installation is very easy without using any tools and you just need to be careful that the rubber covering the body seal is good when we install the back cover.
It has a protection for the rear camera, a silicone cover for the Lightning connector (spare in the box) and various membranes at strategic points that allow, for example, to continue listening to our iPhone’s speakers without a problem. The volume and power buttons are pressed a little harder, but nothing remarkable, and 9The 0005 Catalyst mute switch has the proprietary wheel system, something I like about its cases because they allow it to be used even with ski gloves.
Subscribe to our Youtube channel
The aesthetic result when the cover is installed is not bad, the back cover has that translucent finish that I really like, and what I was very pleasantly surprised by is that the front plastic is barely noticeable. It doesn’t look like a screen protector, but the Catalyst has greatly improved the way its clear plastic sheet fits on our screen. It creates a bit more reflections in the sunlight, but the screen operation is almost identical to when you’re not wearing a case. , and in isolation from the screen it is not noticeable, there is no space between the protective sheet and the front glass of our iPhone. In fact, Catalyst recommends not using a screen protector with your case, a sign that it’s very accurate. The only negative: we lose MagSafe , although wireless charging works fine.
This case is perfect for taking to the beach, swimming pool, skiing or playing sports where dust and water can be a problem for your iPhone or cause falls. It will save you from many problems. Wrist strap included. which can be placed in either of the two bottom corners of the case. It is available for the iPhone 12 in all its models, as well as for iPhones of previous generations.

As with the case for the iPhone, We do this without losing the functionality of our Apple Watch, except for models with ECG disabled. . Heart rate and even oxygen saturation are measured as usual, and of course you can continue to use regular chargers.
Compatible with Apple Watch from series 4 (separate models for 40 and 44 mm), its installation is simple, although we need a small screwdriver to be able to put it on and off, of course in the box. The case consists of a silicone case with which we “dress” our Apple Watch (I put it with a protective film without any problems), front and back frames, which we have to put together and finish fixing with a small screw. what we mentioned.
In the case, the only thing visible on the Apple Watch is the screen, even the bottom sensor is covered in this first silicone case. The side pusher has very good pulsation and the crown can be turned normally, although you won’t notice that smooth and precise movement of the original crown. The straps included in the case are of high quality, very comfortable and durable. and with the typical width of sports straps to fit well with a bulky case like this one. The capping system is traditional, it works as it should.
The user experience with this case is very good. The only thing you notice is that the crown is somewhat firmer, the rest works as if you were wearing nothing. The screen will not be affected because it is free and you can hear the speaker perfectly, you can use microphones, etc. . Yes, the Apple Watch is getting a rougher design, a very sporty one that some will love and some won’t, but one that’s sure to give you protection. As I said at the beginning, it is available for series 4 and up, with specific models for each size.
