Look I’m skeptical of buying used electronics, refurbished, whatever you want to call it electronics online. I love Apple products because of their reliability as a product. I have been needing to watch my money much more closely recently and I looked at Facebook marketplace full of scams after scams. I forget how I came across back market but after thorough research i felt comfortable enough to take a risk and purchase a unlocked iPhone 8. I ordered the one in good condition on a Thursday, my iPhone came in the mail by Saturday that weekend. phone looked clean not much wear and tear at all. first thing I checked when I turned the phone on was the battery health. to my surprise the battery health was at 100% that was awesome being that an iPhone 8 is a older iPhone. I am already planning to buy again from Back Market. Yall rock.

My refurbished iPhone 11 came in excellent condition and it works just like a brand new iPhone. The shipping time was quick. The only downside was that the charging cord that came with it doesn’t charge my new phone properly and if the cord was bumped it would stop charging. I did have my other Apple charging cord with me and it charges my iPhone 11 just fine.

Purchased a “good” phone and received a brand new one, just out of its original Apple. It comes with a charger. I couldn’t believe how spotless this phone was. I took the risk of getting a refurbished IPhone 14 Pro Max because I was too short on money to get a brand new one from Apple.com and I’m super glad I did. Honestly, I was thinking how bad can a phone that came out less than a year ago get. And I was right. To top it off, I checked the battery health and it showed 100%, so it has been barely or never used. The perfect new Iphone on a great deal.

I just activated the phone yesterday but so far I love it! This is the 2nd refurbished iPhone 8 plus that I have purchased from Back Market and I’m hooked! Seriously, I need a 12 step program for Apple products! 😂
I don’t think I’ll ever buy a new Apple device without checking for refurbished products 1st. Back Market is a great supplier and very friendly and helpful. You will not be disappointed.

We had to exchange the first device for another. Returns were easy and the seller issued a refund to purchase another device. Unfortunately, the iphone 7 model will not be supported anymore. Kind of a waste of time and money. the device itself had the standard occasional issues as a refurbished device would have;occasional glitching and non responsiveness (my other child had a brand new iPhone that also had these occasional issues so I’m not too terribly upset). Overall though, I’m happy with the purchase. I just wish we would have known sooner that Apple wasn’t going to allow the 7 to be supported anymore. I will continue to use Back Market as they are doing their best to help out those who cannot afford to buy brand new devices every year. Thanks Back Market!!

Americans will not be able to appreciate the iPhone 4S with 14.4 Mbps HSDPA 4G

Yesterday Apple pleased its fans with new communication speeds – the data download speed of the new smartphone can be 14.4 Mbps , which technically brings the new iPhone 4S on the same level with competitive devices that support the 4G LTE standard. However, this is unlikely to be very useful to US residents, since most US mobile operators do not support new 9 standards.0004 .

Foreign users of mobile networks with support for 14.4 Mbps HSDPA (high speed downlink packet access – high-speed incoming packet access) – a technology that belongs to the GSM / UMTS standards – can fully enjoy the benefits of the new Apple iPhone 4S. The limitations of the current iPhone 4 model are 7. 2 Mbps HSDPA (download) and 5.76 HSUPA (upload).

However, two of the three US carriers that will sell the iPhone 4S, Verizon Wireless and Sprint, are CDMA-only, meaning they won’t be able to offer their customers the speed benefits of the new device with HSDPA. They will continue to be limited to the CDMA 3G EVDO standard, which is much slower compared to AT&T network speeds.

However, AT&T has also been slow to develop its HSDPA capacity. The company’s UMTS 3G mobile network was created and launched in 2006 when Verizon offered a competitive EVDO service – so Apple only released the original iPhone with 2G support.

Since then, Apple has increased iPhone download speeds to 3G levels, first adding 7.2 HSDPA to its iPhone 3GS, then ramping up upload speeds to 5.76 Mbps with the introduction of HSUPA in the iPhone 4, and has said time and time again, that the potential of her popular smartphone is limited only by the capabilities of mobile operators’ communication technologies.

At yesterday’s event, similar warnings were issued by company representatives regarding the iPhone 4S with 14.4 Mbps HSDPA support. It’s not yet clear if this warning applies to American AT&T network users, but it looks like even AT&T won’t be able to deliver actual 14.4Mbps in practice.

Today, AT&T HSDPA is ten times slower than the iPhone 4S potential

In a publicly available document for mobile developers dated last month, AT&T stated that “HSDPA, an enhancement of the HSPA family of protocols, is the highest performing cellular technology deployed. to date”. Its highest theoretical speed is 14.4 Mbps. AT&T has designed its mobile networks so that download speeds for most users are between 700 Kbps and 1.7 Mbps, and upload speeds are between 500 Kbps and 1.2 Mbps.

The operator also notes that currently used HSDPA-enabled devices receive speeds from 3.6 to 7.2 Mbps, although most often it is in the lower limit of this range.

The existing iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS fit within this range, but the new iPhone 4S is set to deliver 14. 4 Mbps. If AT&T continues to claim that its network capacity is below the capacity of even last year’s iPhone, then the release of a new, faster iPhone will mean nothing to Americans at all until AT&T improves its network capacity.

The network that didn’t exist

It’s worth noting that there is a 14.4 HSDPA-enabled mobile network in the US, operated by T-Mobile. Unfortunately, it works with frequencies that are not compatible with the UMTS standard in phones like the Apple iPhone 4S, which also makes it impossible to demonstrate the new speeds of the new smartphone (in the same way that existing 3G iPhone models cannot work on the AWS 3G network and are limited to the 2G standard GSM, if the user manages to “unlock” the device to connect to the service of the T-Mobile operator).

AT&T hopes to successfully resolve the situation and implement its plans to acquire T-Mobile in order to convert AWS frequencies to HSDPA for future use in next-generation LTE networks. In this case, Americans will not have to wait very long for the appearance of the first mobile operator with support for 14.4 HSDPA.

With the new iPhone 4S going strong, AT&T is now in a good position to advertise its HSDPA speeds and advantages over CDMA competitors Sprint and Verizon, and still reconfigure its networks to fully support the higher speeds of the existing iPhone 4 (7.2 Mbps) and iPhone 4S (14.4 Mbps). Until the desired becomes valid, the new iPhone 4S and its speeds will only be truly appreciated by residents of Europe, Asia and some other areas where full-fledged high-speed mobile networks already operate.

For everything from school art supplies to calculators, binders, school backpacks, lunch boxes and more, we’ve got what your students need to succeed.

Take a seat

Whether you’re working from home or outfitting a space for gaming, your comfort is dependent on finding the best chair. At Staples, we provide a broad range of office chairs and seating, so you can find the right fit for you. Select from multifunctional task chairs, computer & desk chairs, drafting stools and more. If you will be using your new chair for multiple hours a day, make sure to get an ergonomic office chair to prevent unnecessary strain.

Comfort, all day long

Office furniture that is the proper size and height makes a big difference. When shopping for chairs, the height of the seat should be adjustable so that the user’s feet can sit flat on the floor with their knees at right angles. Likewise, the accompanying office desk should be at a height where the users’ elbows can sit comfortably at right angles at their sides while typing or writing. Browse our selection to find the combination that’s right for you. If size if a concern, check out our big & tall chairs which can support up to 500lbs.

Game on

If you’re a gamer, you know that a single gaming session can last all day or night. For the best and most comfortable gaming setup, Staples has gaming chairs in colors and styles for everyone. Make sure to match your new chair to an ergonomic gaming desk, the perfect complement for the high-tech gaming computer and accessories you’ve invested in.

Show seasonal allergies who’s boss

If you suffer from seasonal allergies, now is when they are at their worst. Stock up on allergy season’s most important products to keep your home, classroom, and office allergen-free. Start with an air purifier to strip the air of allergens like pollen and pet dander and replace existing air filters for improved air quality. Frequently dust, wipe down hard surfaces, and vacuum carpets and furniture to help eliminate pollen tracked in from outside and dander left behind by pets. When leaving the house, check the pollen count and bring a face mask to help filter the air you breath outside.

No matter what you do, it’s unlikely that the symptoms of seasonal allergies can be avoided entirely. Make sure to have over-the-counter cold and allergy medications on hand to battle symptoms, and stock up on facial tissues so you’ll always have one available when you need them.

Spring (Cleaning) is in the air

Spring cleaning and decluttering is a tradition meant to refresh our spaces for the year ahead. Staples has everything you need to clear out the clutter, store and organize your belongings, and all the right cleaning supplies.

Clear out the clutter

Start by preparing a checklist and make sure you have all the necessary supplies. Use storage bins and a label maker to make sorting and organizing easier. Prepare extra boxes for donations and trash bags for the things you no longer need. Look for decorative boxes & baskets that will compliment your home’s décor and use them to organize. You can also use closet organizers and storage drawers anywhere they are needed.

Start with the basics

An all-purpose cleaner, cleaning brush and microfiber cloths will clean most surfaces. Use a duster to remove unwanted dirt and furniture polish to revitalize wood surfaces. Upgrade your broom, dustpan, wet mop, and vacuum to make cleaning any type of flooring a breeze.

The nitty gritty

Spring cleaning doesn’t stop there. There’s so much you can do to reset your home:

  • Improve air quality and eliminate pollen and pet dander with a new air purifier and an air freshener with a scent you love.
  • On a sunny day, take the opportunity to clean your windows – you’ll need glass cleaner, a bucket, a squeegee, and paper towels.
  • Have a step stool or ladder on hand to access hard-to-reach places like the tops of cabinets and overhead lighting.
  • Replace broken light bulbs and check the batteries in your smoke detectors.
  • Use drain cleaner to clear up sink and bathtub drains.

Up your printing game with a Supertank Printer

Looking for a printer with more print capacity that’s better for the environment and your wallet? Shop Staples selection of Supertank Printers for all the benefits of an inkjet printer with the convenience and savings of replacement ink bottles that last longer and cost less per page than standard inkjet printer cartridges.

Find a Supertank printer from your favorite top printer brand including:

  • Brother INKVestment Tank Printers
  • Canon MegaTank Printers
  • Epson EcoTank Printers

And don’t forget to browse Staples Ink and Toner Finder to find the right replacement ink for your new printer. No matter what printer you have, enter the brand, cartridge or printer model into the easy-to-use Ink and Toner Finder, and browse for compatible ink.

Rest assured it arrives safely & securely

Whether you are sending business documents or customer products, shipping and mailroom supplies from Staples make the process seamless.

Keep packing supplies ready for easy shipping. Padded envelopes and bubble mailers are perfect for shipping small, non-fragile items. Pack larger items in shipping boxes that are slightly larger than the item, and use packing peanuts, bubble roll, or other packing materials to keep objects from moving in the box during transport. Choose the right packing tape to ensure your packages will stay sealed. Staples carries clear acrylic packing tape for everyday shipping and reinforced or water activated tape for packages that require a heavier duty seal.

Manage the day-to-day office correspondence smoothly with a wide selection of business envelopes, inter-office envelopes, and catalog envelopes in the mailroom. Have finger pads and envelope moisteners on hand for speedy document collation and a quick seal. Choose security envelopes for confidential office correspondence and inter-office communications. If your office or organization sends out large mailings, consider a paper folding machine and self-sealing envelopes to increase efficiency.

White Beats Studio Earbuds | Beats by Dre

    5 out of 5 stars

    White Beats Studio Earbuds

The latest wireless offering from Beats by Dre comes loaded with features for an incredible listening experience. The Beats Studio Buds are totally wireless so you can keep moving. The first earbuds in the Beats line to feature Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), the Beats Studio Buds are made for people on the go. ANC creates an immersive experience by eliminating outside noise. Sometimes you need to be aware of your surroundings, though—maybe you’re going for a run alone on a new trail. That’s where Transparency mode comes in. It allows outside noise to gently filter in while you’re listening to music so you can hear if someone is coming up behind you. Those who are using these white Beats Studio earbuds while working out will love the custom fit that keeps these compact earbuds in your ears. The Studio Buds are lighter than the Powerbeats Pro so you can wear them for longer periods of time. They also have IPX4 sweat and water resistance to withstand your most intense workouts.

These white Beats Studio earbuds are designed for convenience for an enhanced user experience. If you can’t easily access your phone, you can still control your music. These Beats earbuds have a small button on the outside with the Beats “b” on them for handy controls: press once to play or pause your music, press twice to skip the track, press three times to go back, or press and hold to toggle between Active Noise Cancellation, Transparency, and Off. You can also easily connect to iOS or Android devices thanks to native pairing. Once you connect to your iPhone, you can easily say “Hey Siri” for hands-free control while you’re at the gym or on the train. The white Beats Studio earbuds round out the Beats by Dre offering of wireless headphones.

    Features

    • Driven By Premium Sound
Beats was born to deliver music as the artist intended. Beats Studio Buds are engineered to deliver powerful, balanced sound in a compact design, through an entirely customized acoustic platform. A proprietary, dual-element diaphragm driver resides within a two-chamber housing, resulting in clear sound with outstanding stereo separation. An advanced digital processor then optimizes audio performance for loudness and clarity, while simultaneously ensuring clean noise-cancellation. The result — immersive sound that pulls the emotion of music from the studio to your ears to keep you going all day long
    • Control The Noise
With two distinct listening modes, you are in total control of your sound. Active Noise Cancelng (ANC) continuously blocks unwanted outside noise using a finely-tuned filter that dynamically adapts to your surroundings. When you need to hear the world around you, switch to Transparency mode at the press of a button. The external-facing microphones mix the sounds of your surroundings back in with your music for a natural, ‘open’ listening experience.
    • Power Your Day
The earbuds have up to 8 hours of listening time1 with two additional charges provided by its pocket-sized charging case.2 That means that Beats Studio Buds give you up to 24 hours of combined playback. With ANC or Transparency mode turned on, you’ll get up to 5 hours of listening time, 15 combined with the case. If you need a little extra juice, 5- minute Fast Fuel charging gives up to 1 hour of playback3 when battery is low. Now that’s wireless freedom.
    • Choose Your Fit
Three soft, silicone eartip sizes (small, medium, or large) give you a customized fit and create an acoustic seal for an even more immersive listening experience. These size options provide comfort, stability, and the confidence of staying put. Beats Studio Buds were made to fit seamlessly into your life with its sleek, compact in-ear design. Its matching charging case offers superior portability with a rounded, slim design that easily fits in your pocket or purse. Even better, the earbuds themselves offer an IPX4 rating for sweat and water resistance.4
    • Keep The Connection
With Class 1 Bluetooth® technology, Beats Studio Buds offer extended wireless range and fewer dropouts. Dual-beam forming microphones target your voice and filter out wind and external noise for high-quality call performance and elevated voice clarity. On-ear controls allow you to manage calls and control music. You’ll also be able to customize the “Press and Hold” function to work for either ANC or your voice assistant.5
    • Compatible With Apple And Android
Beats Studio Buds feature simple one-touch pairing for Apple6 and Android devices7 and easily connect via Bluetooth. With the Beats app for Android, you’ll get features like built-in controls, device status (i.e. battery levels), and firmware updates. With Apple devices, those features are built in to iOS with no app required, and and you can also activate Siri hands-free just by saying “Hey Siri”. 8 And the USB-C charge connector provides a single charging solution across both Apple and Android platforms.

Cable hdmi: The Best HDMI Cables for Your TV in 2023

The Best HDMI Cables for Your TV in 2023

Just about every TV you see on store shelves these days features 4K ultra HD resolution, and there is an increasing number of stunning 8K models on the market. And whether you’re hooking up a streaming device or a next-gen console like the Xbox Series X or PlayStation 5, you’ll need an HDMI cable that can support the higher resolutions, frame rates and HDR formats possible with modern content. And fortunately, you won’t have to spend a ton to get solid cable quality with our picks for the best HDMI cable options available in 2023.

Even the cheapest HDMI cables can handle 4K HDR signals nowadays, so there’s no reason to drop serious cash on one. But even in a level playing field, some cables are slightly better than others. While there are some more expensive options out there, as long as the cable is able to pass the resolution you want, the picture will look the same as any other cable, regardless of price. The only thing you really need to think about is cable length.

With that in mind, we have some recommendations for inexpensive options that should work with any TV and source combination you have… as long as they connect with HDMI.

    Geoffrey Morrison/CNET

So grab your game console, plug in your cable box and fire up your streaming device, computer, cable or satellite box, home theater receiver or DVD, Blu-ray and Ultra HD player. Here are our top picks for the best, most reliable and affordable HDMI cables.

Cable recommendations (6 feet): Monoprice or Cable Matters

I used 6-foot (1.8-meter) cables as the example for pricing, but there are plenty of longer and shorter options. You can save some money getting shorter cables, but make sure they’re long enough for you to place your gear where you want. Measure twice, buy once.

Why are these brands considered the best HDMI cable? Because they’re the cheapest ones we trust and they have great warranties. Previously, we also included the Amazon Basics Premium-Certified Braided HDMI Cable, though it has been out of stock for some time.

We don’t specifically review HDMI cables here at CNET, but in our TV test lab we’ve been using inexpensive cables from Amazon and Monoprice for years. All of them have carried hundreds of hours of 4K and HDR video flawlessly, with way more plugging and unplugging than typical cables are subject to. None have failed with compatible devices.

There are cheaper options, but beyond our own experience, our recommendations have great user reviews and have sold HDMI cables for years. They’re also rated to have the bandwidth to handle 4K and HDR content. This is often listed as “18Gbps,” referring to the amount of bandwidth possible, in gigabits per second, with the HDMI 2.0 standard (see below for HDMI 2.1 details).

    Other options

Maybe you don’t want a Monoprice or Cable Matters HDMI cord for some reason. We checked a few other large retailers and found cables we liked from each one. Here they are.

    $9 at Target

Do you really need new cables?

As we mentioned above, just because you’re getting a new TV doesn’t necessarily mean you need new HDMI cables, even if you’re upgrading to something with 4K and HDR. Over short distances, say under 6 feet, just about any recent “high speed HDMI cable” should work fine. “High Speed” is the rating used by HDMI companies to indicate cables that have the bandwidth to handle 1080p and greater video resolutions.

You can think of bandwidth like a pipe. You need to be able to get a lot of “water” through the pipe with 4K and HDR content. A high speed cable needs to be “big” enough to handle it all.

Unfortunately, there’s no way to tell just by looking at a cable whether it’s a high speed HDMI cable that can handle the deluge of data required for 4K and HDR content. Even if it says High Speed on the jacket, that’s not 100 percent useful. A cable can be considered a “high speed HDMI cable” if it passes 1080p, but not be well enough made to handle 4K. The only way to verify it works as high speed HDMI is to test it.

The good thing is, if it works, it works. For example, if you’re sending a 4K HDR signal from your 4K Blu-ray player to your 4K HDR TV and the TV shows a 4K HDR signal, you’re set. It’s not possible to get a better image using a different 4K HDMI cable. That’s not how the technology works.

There are only two “fails” with an HDMI cable. The most likely is you won’t get any signal at all: A blank or flashing screen. First, check that everything’s connected correctly and all your HDMI device settings are correct.

A closeup view of the HDMI cable failure known as sparkles.

    Geoffrey Morrison/CNET

The only other “fail” mode of HDMI cables is sparkles. This looks like snow on the screen. It can be heavy enough to look like static, like an old TV tuned to a dead channel, or it can be random-but-regular flashes of white pixels. This means you’ll need new cables.

If the TV is receiving the same resolution you’re sending it (e.g., the TV says it’s 4K HDR when you’re sending 4K HDR), you’re all set. A different cable won’t make that image sharper, brighter or anything else.

Also remember, if one step in your chain isn’t 4K HDR, nothing is. As in, if you connect a 4K Blu-ray disc player to an old sound bar and then to a 4K TV, you won’t be able to get a 4K signal to the TV. Also, some TVs only have one or two HDMI inputs that are HDMI 2.1 compatible. Check your owner’s manual for that, too.

    What about HDMI 2.1?

The latest version of HDMI is called 2.1. This is a huge leap forward in terms of bandwidth, capable of up to 8K resolutions and beyond. There are also new cables, called Ultra High Speed, and these can carry 8K signals as well as the popular 4K/120Hz used by the Xbox Series X and others. If you’re into gaming, it’s worth trading up to one of these, and as we found with the Cable Matters cords above, it doesn’t incur much of a price premium.

For more info on that, check out our HDMI 2.1 explainer.

    Longer cables?

The vast majority of you will just need an HDMI cable of a few feet/meters to connect your TV to your nearby cable/satellite box, video streamer, 4K Blu-ray player, or game console. Some of you, though, are looking for something with a longer cable length. There are a lot of variables to consider, which we’ll discuss, so we don’t have a simple pick.

In broad strokes, the build and material quality is much more important in a long HDMI cable than short. Over 15 feet there is a much higher chance that a mediocre cable won’t work, or won’t work at the resolution you want. This still doesn’t mean you need to spend a fortune on a long cable, there are plenty of options for roughly the same price per-foot as the ones mentioned above. It does mean that no-name cables might be less likely to work.

To put it another way, a poorly made 3-foot cable will probably work fine for most people, but a poorly made 15-foot cable probably won’t. With any long-run solution you’re considering, make sure it can handle 4K/60, HDR and so on. Many options can’t. There are three technologies to consider:

Active: An active HDMI cable has a small chip built into the cable that takes a little power from the device’s HDMI connector and uses it to boost the HDMI signal. These cables cost a little extra, but are far more likely to work. A long passive cable might work for you, but it might not. It depends on your gear. Since they’re not significantly more expensive, they’re worth considering for any long run.

Optical: Though a similar technology to the old-school audio interface, HDMI-over-optical is capable of far greater bandwidth. It’s also capable of far greater distances. It’s easy to find options that are over 330 feet. Prices have dropped radically in the last few years, with options available for similar prices per-foot as traditional copper cables. Most don’t even need external power. They work and look just like a thin HDMI cable.

Wireless: You could also skip cables completely and just go wireless. This isn’t quite as simple as it sounds, though. There are far too many considerations to get into here, but a few things to keep in mind: 1) They’re going to cost more than cables; 2) 4K options often only work in-room and can be blocked by anything, including cabinet doors and even people. Though wireless seems like it should be easy for multiple devices in this era of near-ubiquitous Wi-Fi, it’s not. If you’re considering this, definitely do your research before you buy.

    Connected thoughts

There are, of course, many other cable options.

If you want to keep hunting for the best deal, make sure the cable you’re considering is either Premium Certified, says it can do 4K/60, or can handle 18Gbps bandwidth. And it’s an added bonus if it has a great warranty like the Monoprice cables.

Keep in mind there’s no such thing as HDMI cable “versions.” As in, there’s no such thing as an “HDMI 2.0” cable. The version numbers refer to the physical connections in your TV, receiver or sound bar. So your TV and 4K Blu-ray player need to both have HDMI 2.0 to watch HDR content, but the cable connecting them couldn’t care less. It’s just a dumb pipe.

As long as that pipe is “big” enough, which is to say it has enough bandwidth, you should be good to go. The 18Gbps you’ve seen mentioned here came about with the HDMI 2.0 spec, so if a cable claims it, it’s likely built to handle the additional data that HDMI 2.0 connections can provide. The new Ultra High Speed cables are capable of 48Gbps, but that’s far beyond what any current source can send.

Lastly, if you want to run the cables through a wall, make sure you get HDMI cables specifically made for that. Check your local building codes for the HDMI specification you need.

Not all HDMI cables are the same. Apart from different standards, there are some other differences between cables. After buying a new Ultra HD TV, the question arises which HDMI cable will provide the desired quality. We explain their differences and what to look for when buying a cable.

Interesting fact: HDMI Splitter. An HDMI splitter is used when you want to output an HDMI signal from one device to multiple end devices at the same time. For example, you can display an HDMI signal from a Blu-ray player on two different screens in parallel.

    Contents:

    • What is HDMI?
    • What are the technical differences between HDMI cables?
    • What should I pay attention to when buying?
    • Conclusion

    What is HDMI?

HDMI stands for High Definition Multimedia Interface and is an interface that has been developed since 2002 for the digital transmission of image and sound. For example, you can connect your Blu-ray player or game console directly to your TV via HDMI to display picture and sound at the same time.

HDMI cables can offer the following benefits for the devices they connect:

    • excellent digital signal quality;
    • best image quality;
    • excellent sound quality, including multi-channel surround sound;
    • feedback between devices;
    • the ability to connect to various electronic devices of the computer.

This is interesting! What is HDMI ARC? ARC (Audio Return Channel) stands for “Audio Return Channel” and refers to an HDMI connection through which audio can be transmitted and forwarded in both directions.

That’s interesting! HDMI eARC what is it? eARC (Enhanced Audio Return Channel) allows you to transmit the original audio signal in full resolution over the HDMI cable and reproduce the best sound, it has a much higher bandwidth than ARC. eARC is a feature implemented in the latest HDMI 2.1 specification.

What are the technical differences between HDMI cables?

The current version of HDMI is 2.1, however due to the license agreement, HDMI products can no longer be marked with version numbers. The names are now “HDMI Standard”, “HDMI High Speed”, “HDMI Premium High Speed” and, in the latest version, “HDMI Ultra High Speed”. Whether it’s Full HD or HDMI 2.0, our table will help you understand the difference between HDMI versions, as well as the differences between individual cables and HDMI standards:

Name Version Speed Resolution Color formats Additions New functions
HDMI Standard 1. 0 3.96 Gbps 1080p@60Hz RGB and YCbCr 8 bits each 8 channels (PCM, MPEG, Dolby Digital, DTS)
1.1 3.96 Gbps 1080p@60Hz RGB and YCbCr 8 bits each DVD audio
1.2 up to 7.92 Gbps 1080p@60Hz RGB and YCbCr 8 bits each SACD CEC (as of version 1.2a)
HDMI High Speed 1.3 8.16 Gbps 1440p@60Hz RGB and YCbCr with 10/12/16 bits each, xvYCC color space Dolby Digital Plus, True HD, dts-HD Lipsync Deep Color

So, depending on the bit rate, you should use the following HDMI options for HD up to 8K transfer:

    • HDMI Standard: Supports transfer rates up to 7.92 Gbps (Gbps), which is sufficient to transmit a high definition (1080p) signal at 60 Hz – i.e. Full HD.
    • HDMI High Speed: Supports transfer rates up to 8.16Gbps and supports 4K, 3D or Deep Color
    • HDMI Premium High Speed: Supports transfer rates up to 14. 4 Gbps for 4K at 60 Hz. This standard also ensures that the required bandwidth is actually available.
    • HDMI Ultra High Speed: 48Gbps maximum throughput. This allows 8K at 60Hz and 4K at 120Hz to be transmitted.

In addition to specifications, there are different types of connectors for HDMI cables. The standard plug is the Type A connector. These are the ones you will most often find on all entertainment devices or laptops. In addition, there is Type C (mini-HDMI) and Type D (micro-HDMI). Like USB plugs, these connectors are smaller than the standard one.

Interesting fact: HDMI(M) and HDMI(F). Male, translated from English, male, denotes a cable plug that is inserted into the device. Female (female), indicates the connector into which the cable is inserted.

What should I pay attention to when buying?

When shopping for a cable, the first thing you should do is compare the specifications and decide which HDMI cable is best for your needs. Our table above will help you with this. If you need an HDMI cable for Ultra HD, Deep Color and Dolby Vision, it hardly makes sense to buy an older, cheaper standard HDMI cable. In this case, you should purchase a super high speed HDMI cable, or at least a cable with HDMI 2.0 or higher. In addition to the name of the cable, the following points are important when buying:

    1. Choose the length that suits you best: Longer cables are firstly more expensive and secondly have a negative effect on quality.
    2. Find the right connector type: HDMI Type A is the standard for TVs and consoles. And for example, smartphones need type D.
    3. The price of a certified cable only affects materials and service life: HDMI cables transmit digital video and audio data using the so-called TMDS technology. Here, two versions of the same data stream are sent on different wires. In this way, transmission errors or failures can be effectively eliminated. The result of this method is that at the end of the signal transmission, either no ideal signal or no signal at all is received. There is no difference in image quality between them.
    4. Workmanship: There are, of course, differences in HDMI cables in terms of workmanship. In particular, the plug-to-wire harness transition is often the weak point of many cheap cables, so that cable breaks or other defects occur after a few “kinks”. Poor shielding can cause the signal to be affected by external sources of interference (such as power lines). In the worst case, this can lead to a complete failure of the image or the appearance of visible artifacts in the form of white pixels on the screen.

This is interesting! What does MHL mean in HDMI? MHL stands for “Mobile High-Definition Link”, that is, a portable high-definition connection. This is mainly required for smaller devices such as mobile phones and tablets. Can transfer HD video, sound and charge devices.

    Conclusion

The price of expensive HDMI cables is not necessarily unjustified. The picture quality is the same for all cables, but those who need extra-strong cables for flush mounting or outdoor use pay more.

When it comes to choosing where to buy HDMI cables, choose a reliable supplier. AnLan has been a leader in the Russian market since 2007. Reasonable price and European quality is what distinguishes the company’s products from other organizations.

FPS gaming mice are a bit like race cars; they generally don’t have loads of extra features or buttons, but they’re all about performance. Above all else, the best FPS gaming mice should be lightweight and have low click latency. The shape of your FPS mouse is also key. When choosing a mouse for your needs, it should feel comfortable for your hand size and preferred grip type. Whether you want a reliable wired connection or the freedom of a wireless design, mice for FPS games are designed for speed and accuracy.

We’ve tested over 285 mice, and below are our top picks for the best FPS gaming mouse in multiple categories. If you’re not specifically looking for a dedicated FPS mouse, see our recommendations for the best gaming mice, the best cheap gaming mice, the best lightweight mice, and the best wireless gaming mice.

On the hunt for the best FPS mouse out there? We recommend the Razer Viper V2 Pro. It has the same low-profile, symmetrical shape as previous models in the Viper series. However, it’s much lighter and features Razer’s new Focus Pro 30K sensor, arguably the best gaming sensor currently available. It also has a slightly longer advertised battery life, and like other Razer mice, it uses optical switches, which eliminates the need for added debounce delay and the possibility of the switches developing double-clicking issues.

That said, Razer has largely managed to lighten this version by removing some of the features found on previous models. It lacks rubber side grips and RGB lighting, and most notably, this version now only has side buttons on the left, while earlier models have an additional pair of side buttons on the right. If you’re more interested in weight savings, you may welcome these changes. However, if you’re a fan of some of these legacy features, now is a great time to check out the previous generation Razer Viper Ultimate as it has recently fallen to the cheapest price it has ever been.

We’d also be doing a disservice if we didn’t mention the Logitech G PRO X SUPERLIGHT, the Razer’s closest competitor. It weighs virtually the same, and its shape is a bit more accommodating to a wider range of hand sizes and grip types. It falls just shy of delivering the same level of sensor performance as the Razer, but it’s an outstanding wireless gaming mouse in its own right.

For an option at an upper mid-range price, we recommend you check out the LAMZU Atlantis. Recently, some of the bigger online retailers have had difficulty keeping this mouse in stock due to its popularity, so it can be worthwhile to check smaller vendors or LAMZU’s website, where it’s been more consistently in stock. Also, LAMZU have just released an ‘updated’ version of this mouse called the LAMZU Atlantis OG V2. This new version is identical, except the feet on the bottom of the mouse are a bit larger.

The Atlantis is a medium-sized mouse with a symmetrical design and a shape that’s extremely well-suited for a claw grip with most hand sizes. It has an unusual bottom plate design with a transparent plastic framework. This frame contributes to keeping the mouse remarkably lightweight, though it leaves the inside of the mouse more open to collecting dust and debris.

You can also buy this mouse in more expressive colorways than most gaming mice, but it has no RGB lighting. In raw power, it has excellent click latency and uses PixArt’s new flagship sensor, the PAW 3395, which is closely related to and performs almost as well as the proprietary Focus Pro 30K sensor in our top pick, the Razer Viper V2 Pro.

The best FPS gaming mouse at a mid-range price point is the Razer Viper 8KHz. It shares the same iconic shape as the original Razer Viper and has a pair of side buttons on either side, making it an equally viable option for right or left-handed gamers. Although, what sets this mouse apart is what’s under the hood. Where most gaming mice have a maximum polling rate of 1000Hz, this mouse has a maximum polling rate of 8000Hz. Pushing the polling rate to its maximum will make your cursor movements feel smoother and more fluid.

Unfortunately, some games don’t support these higher polling rate settings, including a few popular competitive titles. It also takes a fairly high-end machine with a powerful processor to take full advantage of this cutting-edge feature, though most gaming rigs will at least be able to take advantage of either a 2000Hz or 40000Hz setting. That said, it’s important to note this mouse isn’t nearly as lightweight as the other options on this list and doesn’t connect wirelessly. However, it offers the best raw performance currently available at a solidly mid-range price point.

                See all our test results

For a budget pick, we recommend checking out the Cooler Master MM720. While it looks odd compared to most gaming mice on the market, its small and fairly wide shape has an added ring finger rest and is very comfortable for most hand sizes. It’s also especially well-suited for claw grippers. This mouse has small cutouts in its body that help reduce its overall weight, and impressively, it weighs only 52g, making it the lightest recommendation on this list. It also has very low click latency and excellent mouse feet that glide very smoothly on desks and mousepads.

On the other hand, it has mushy-feeling side buttons, and its build quality doesn’t compare to other models. The plastic body creaks when applying a fair amount of pressure, and it feels possible to crack the plastic if you press hard enough. However, this isn’t an issue under normal circumstances and is only likely to be a concern if you’re particularly rough with your mice.

                See all our test results

If you’re looking for the best cheap option, we recommend the Logitech G203 LIGHTSYNC. Depending on where you live, this mouse may be called the G102 or G103, but all these mice are the same. This wired model has a comfortable egg-like shape that’s a good fit for most hand sizes, and it’s available in several eye-catching colors to suit your style. It also has full RGB lighting that you can adjust using the customization software.

It doesn’t quite deliver the same sensor accuracy as the more expensive options on this list. However, its click latency is more than good enough to deliver a great experience for any games you play, including fast-paced and competitive games. Its only flaw is its weight, as it isn’t nearly as easy to maneuver quickly as our budget pick, the Cooler Master MM720, or other more expensive options on this list. That said, this mouse offers unparalleled performance at a consistently low price point.

              Notable Mentions

              • Razer DeathAdder V3 Pro:
The Razer DeathAdder V3 Pro is an outstanding alternative to the Razer Viper V2 Pro, but it’s an exclusively right-handed shape best suited for larger hands. Otherwise, it shares all the same internal components and is only marginally heavier.
                See our review
              • Pulsar X2 Wireless:
The Pulsar X2 Wireless has a very similar shape to the LAMZU Atlantis, but it’s slightly smaller and delivers marginally better performance. Much like the LAMZU, it’s also been hard to find in stock lately due to its popularity. It’s also typically a bit more expensive and has a more subtle, straightforward look than the Atlantis. Although, this may also be a plus if you want something less flashy on your desk.
                See our review
              • ROCCAT Kone Pro:
The ROCCAT Kone Pro is a great alternative to the LAMZU Atlantis for about the same price, but it also frequently goes on sale for considerably cheaper. It’s only a bit heavier, but it’s a standout option if you’re interested in a larger FPS mouse with a thumb rest and don’t mind giving up on wireless connectivity.
                See our review
              • Finalmouse Starlight-12 Small:
The Finalmouse Starlight-12 Small has solid sensor performance, very good click latency, and shockingly weighs only 44.7g, thanks to its magnesium alloy body with honeycomb cutouts. It’s one of the lightest FPS mice available and the lightest mouse mentioned in this article, making it a great option if you love ultralight mice. However, it’s currently only available from third-party resellers, which tends to make it extremely expensive.

              All Reviews

Our recommendations above are what we think are currently the best mice for FPS gaming for most people. We factor in the price (a cheaper mouse wins over a pricier one if the difference isn’t worth it), feedback from our visitors, and availability (no mice that are difficult to find or almost out of stock everywhere).

If you would like to do the work of choosing yourself, here is the list of all our reviews of mice. Be careful not to get too caught up in the details. While no mouse is perfect for every use, most mice are great enough to please almost everyone, and the differences are often not noticeable unless you really look for them.

The 7 Best FPS Mice in 2023

First person shooters are arguably the genre that sparked interest in gaming focused mice in the first place, mouse movements are key to so much of the genre’s gameplay, from aiming, looking, firing and movement, a good FPS mouse can make a huge difference in your gameplay.
A good FPS mouse ignores the extra frills and makes sure the fundamentals are rock solid, no extra buttons, no weights and shapes that suit multiple types of mouse grips.
The mouse should have tactile buttons that don’t actuate easily, revealing your location by accident, they should feel satisfying when you’re clicking heads. Good FP mice should have a flawless sensor, so pixel tracking is accurate and consistent every time. The best FPS mice promote freedom of movement, they are going to have great cables with minimal drag, or better yet, they should be wireless if possible and light, so that long low DPI flicks aren’t fatiguing on the player.

              • 2 year warranty

              Cons

              • Expensive
              • Recessed side buttons can be a little difficult to hit
              • Some pre-travel on primary buttons

Our former best overall gaming mouse is also the best fps gaming mouse, the Viper Ultimate has everything you would want for an FPS gamer. The safe shape of the Viper Ultimate is perfectly suited for claw and finger-tip grips. The mouse has a flawless sensor, great buttons and a long battery life.
What takes the Viper Ultimate over the top is its flawless sensor and lightweight. You can’t really get better than a light mouse with lagless wireless, true freedom of movement.
The Viper Ultimate is on the expensive side however, if you’re on a budget, the Model O is similar in shape, or just the vanilla Razer Viper  or Viper Mini are good options.

              2. Logitech G Pro Wireless & Superlight

For FPS gamers looking for a bit more palm support

              A close second

              Logitech G Pro Wireless

              Logitech’s best gaming mouse
              See Price on Amazon

              Pros

              • 60 hour battery life
              • Flawless sensor
              • 80 grams without holes
              • Swappable side buttons
              • Wireless charging capability with charge mat
              • Great shape for palm

              Cons

              • Expensive
              • Some durability concerns with buttons double clicking

The Logitech G Pro Wireless is another complete package mouse, its lightweight, it has a flawless wireless sensor and its tactile buttons make it a great FPS mouse. For those that don’t like the shape of the Razer Viper, the GPW has all the virtues of that mouse, with a rounder, taller shape that might fit gamers that prefer a little more palm support.
Logitech’s swappable side buttons mean this is a great fit for left-handed players, the mouse has a flawless sensor with no input latency and a 6o hour battery life, it’s a complete package that should make most gamers happy, its specs are just slightly short of the Vipers’, making it the second best fps mouse.
Like the Viper, it’s not a cheap mouse, those looking for a little more palm support can look to the CoolerMaster MM710 for a more affordable option.
The new Superlight version takes the mouse to the next level with an even lighter weight, an even longer battery, and a higher price point. It still falls short of the Viper Ultimate for not having usb-c and a dock solution.

              Great value fps gaming mouse

              Palm grip FPS mouse

              Cooler Master MM710
Cooler Masters first ultra light is one of the lightest
              See Price on Amazon

              Pros

              • Unique shape, great for all grips but especially for palm
              • Sturdy build and design
              • Flexible cable
              • 2 year warranty
              • Affordable

              Cons

              • Main button and middle scroll wheel can wobble
              • Feet are scratchy out of the box

The MM710 packs an excellent shape for all grips, it’s a no-frills, performance focused mouse that provides a great FPS experience.
For palm grip FPS players, the MM710 is a great option because of its taller height and round shape. The MM710 is still plenty viable for claw and finger-tip gamers. The mouse is well built, with a PBT shell, a light weight and of course, has a flawless sensor. The MM710 is our first budget choice because of its shape versatility, and for just doing the fundamentals properly.
There are some concerns with quality control of the shell and gaps, the buttons and scroll wheel have shown some wobble. For its price, it’s still incredible value and certainly a top performing mouse for FPS games.

              4. Glorious Model O/O-

              Ultralight and affordable fps mouse

              Big Value

              Glorious Model O-
Diminutive size and price with no compromises See Price on Glorious PC

              Pros

              • Great shape for claw grips and size options for smaller hands
              • Lots of surface and colour options
              • Great primary buttons and scroll wheel
              • Improved cable

              Cons

              • Main button can wobble
              • Lots of branding
              • Shell flexes and creaks a good amount

The Glorious Model O and O- has a shape that’s immediately familiar and well proven for FPS, for tip and  claw gamers.
The Model O is affordable, its shape is comfortable, the cable is great, and it glides well on a light frame. The Model O is a lean, focused mouse that’s great for FPS.
The buttons hold it back a little bit, they’re not the best feeling mouse clicks for FPS, it lacks the tactile, crispy click that you’d want for an FPS mouse. If you’re a little bit of a ragier FPS gamer, you might want to pick a sturdier mouse, the Model O does have a decent amount of flex on the shell.

              5. Endgame Gear XM1

A great shape for fps gaming

              Proven performer

              Endgame Gear XM1
A unique shape and solid built quality make the XM1 a great shooters mouse
              See Price on Amazon

              Pros

              • Original ambidextrous shape works really well for claw grip
              • Buttons are rock solid and sturdy
              • 70 grams with no holes
              • Good glide on feet

              Cons

              • Cable is stiff and rubber, good candidate for paracording
              • Coating runs warm in my experience

The Endgame XM1 has great clicks and a unique low profile shape that is an absolute joy to use. Every shot feels great with this mouse. The shape is ideal for claw grip gamers. The XM1 has a flawless sensor and a lightweight in a strong shell with great build quality. The mouse is affordable and is a great option for gamers looking for value.
The only shortcoming I can find on the XM1 is the rubber cable, it’s a far cry from the wireless beasts at the top of our list, I can feel the cable a bit more when compared to the braided cables of other mice on this list.

              6. Zowie S1/S2

One of the most comfortable for fps gaming

              Zowie Divina S1 and S2

A great less narrow ambidextrous shape and less stiff buttons (finally!) make the S1 and S2 some of the best ambidextrous mice around.
              See Price on Amazon

              Pros

              • Three colour options, two size options
              • Great safe shape, well balanced
              • Flexible rubber cable at an angle, introduces very little drag
              • Option of glossy or matte coating options

              Cons

              • Noisy scroll wheel
              • Above average in weight for this category

The Zowie S series is known for its comfortable shape that’s compatible with most grips. Its curvature and size can accommodate palm, claw and finger-tip grips well, fitting in the hand like a glove. The S1 and S2 pack a flawless sensor with a flexible rubber cable that surprisingly doesn’t introduce as much drag as you would think. The mouse has multiple colour and coating options as well.
The S series mice are a little heavier than a lot of the other mice you would find on this list, it’s not heavy by any means but its freedom of movement can’t compare to the top-tier mice on this list.

              7. Glorious Model D- (61 g)

              The best ergonomic fps mouse

              Glorious Model D-
An incredible value; proven shape and ultra light weight made for palm grippers. See Price on Glorious

              Pros

              • Proven ergo shape
              • Lightweight
              • Great soft cable
              • 2 colour and coating options

              Cons

              • Buttons are mediocre
              • Shell is a little soft, flexes and creaks

The Glorious Model D- is a great FPS mouse choice for gamers that prefer an ergonomic mouse. It’s diminutive size makes the Model D- still suitable for a claw grip while being absolutely great for palm grippers. The Model D- is one of the lightest ergonomic mice out, with a great cable and a flawless sensor making the Model D- absolutely fly in game.
The mouse has lacklustre clicks, it’s not the most tactile experience with the Model D-, so look elsewhere if you value tactility. If you’re prone to squeezing heavily or reacting poorly to getting sniped, then you might want to look for something a little sturdier than the Model D-. Its shell is a little flexible and creaky.

              BenQ Zowie EC2-A / EC1-A

One of the most popular gaming mice for online shooters, especially popular among CS:GO players. It is chosen for its accurate sensor, discreet design and good build quality. Perhaps a resolution of 3200 DPI will seem insufficient to someone, but it should be noted that for most gamers this is enough, and higher values like 16000 DPI are often not used at all.

Models EC2-A and EC1-A differ only in size: EC2-A is slightly smaller in length and width, so choose a mouse based on your requirements. Also note that this gadget does not have RGB lighting – this can be both its advantage and disadvantage for you.

              Pros:

              • High precision and superior performance;
              • Sensor works on all surfaces;
              • Simple design.

              Cons:

              • Missing some premium features like RGB lighting.

              SteelSeries Rival 600

The SteelSeries Rival 600 is a beast that delivers maximum precision at low speed: literally moving the cursor one inch when moving the mouse one inch. Due to this, you will be unsurpassed in first-person shooters, performing well-aimed sniper shots.

Mouse features to satisfy even the most demanding gamer: from 100 to 12000 DPI, in 100 DPI steps, lift-off tracking, speed from 350 inches per second. And we can’t help but mention the gadget’s impressive backlighting, which can be customized in eight independent zones. In addition, the detachable cable allows you to safely transport the mouse during frequent trips to tournaments, and eight weights allow you to adjust the weight to your individual requirements.

              Pros:

              • The epitome of precision;
              • Outstanding IPS performance;

Also, don’t forget about the special “sniper” button, which gives an additional advantage in competitive online games. You will also love the software for advanced button and lighting customization, as well as macro programming.

              Pros:

              • Easily adjustable buttons;
              • Quality sensors;
              • Adjustable center of gravity.

              Cons:

              • Fits palm grip only;
              • The layout of the buttons may not be convenient for everyone.

              Logitech G403

Not quite as good as the G502, but still an impressive shooter gaming mouse that offers a lot of features to the user. The positive aspects of the device include its versatility: the mouse provides a comfortable grip and comfort of use, and also includes many customization options: you can change the DPI from 200 to 12000, program buttons, change the backlight color and write user profiles to the gadget’s memory.

The Logitech G403 has almost no downsides, aside from its right-handed design and perhaps not the best thumb button placement.

              Pros:

              • Beautiful design and good ergonomics;
              • Full of software features.

              Cons:

              • Only for right-handers.

              Logitech G402 Hyperion Fury

There are four Logitech mice on this list, proving the brand’s dominance in its niche. The manufacturer produces many gadgets for different tasks, and the G402 Hyperion Fury model is exactly what you should choose for playing shooters.

First of all, the manipulator boasts excellent ergonomics and fits perfectly into the hand of any size. Secondly, it is equipped with a separate “sniper” button, which allows you to better aim at the enemy. Thirdly, the software will help you configure the device according to your preferences. Perhaps the mouse will perform better in realistic projects like Battlefield, but in dynamic titles like Overwatch it will show itself at its best.

              Pros:

              • Excellent performance;
              • Button fine tuning;
              • Excellent value for money.

              Cons:

              • Not the best wheel;
              • Weight too low.

What to look for when choosing an FPS mouse?

A good gaming mouse is one of the keys to success in online shooters. You must be as efficient as possible when shooting at the enemy. Therefore, it is important to consider some criteria when choosing a gadget.

First of all, you need to make sure that the rodent fits comfortably in your hand. It doesn’t matter what stats it has, as long as you just don’t feel comfortable holding it. Choose a manipulator based on grip, palm size. It will not be superfluous to have rubberized inserts that will provide additional grip.

Next comes DPI, polling rate, response time, movement speed – in general, all the technical chips. Here we will not go into details, we will only note that “more” does not always mean “better”, and sometimes it is worth giving preference not to marketing numbers, but to a proven brand and balanced characteristics.

Finally, the last selection criterion will be the design, the presence of RGB-backlighting and other embellishments. It’s not that it’s not important, but we still put functionality above external tinsel.

And finally, let’s remind you that it is much more important to develop your skill, and not to own a fancy mouse. That’s all: more frags for you, and we will be glad to see your rating of the best gaming mice in the comments.

              Best Gaming Mice of 20210436

              – this article contains the best mice, according to the publication “Popular Mechanics”, which will improve your performance in FPS and MOBA.

The right keyboard can improve your gaming experience, make it easier to use accessibility features, and increase the dynamics of your favorite PC games, but that’s only half of your productivity. Equally important is the mouse, which determines the accuracy of aiming and the speed of fire. A regular mouse is not designed for dynamic gameplay, and a joystick will even put you at a disadvantage when it comes to reaction speed. Buying a gaming mouse is a smart investment, especially if you want to move some of the action to programmable buttons, aim more accurately and be faster, whether it’s shooting in Counter-Strike or speed-running at a location in League of Legends. Comfortable and high-precision mice from this list will allow you to raise the quality of your game to a new level, well, to dust all your opponents.

              Wired or wireless?

Depending on what games you play, how many buttons you need, and whether or not you need a wire, you’ll find the right gaming mouse for you. Thanks to modern technology, wireless mice today work with virtually no delays. Without wires, you just get more free space on the table, a more aesthetic appearance and, in some cases, more freedom, since there is no limit to the length of the wire. It is important to note that some of the options on today’s list will be hybrid: they charge via USB and can be used with or without a wire.

              Things to consider

              CPI

CPI, also known as dots per inch, measures how quickly and accurately the cursor moves across the screen. The larger this parameter, the higher the speed and accuracy of cursor movements that you can make. Some models boast a value of 20,000 CPI, but at least 10,000 is recommended. If the figure is lower, then you may experience lag and slowness of the cursor on the screen.

              Sensor

Today there are two types of sensors: optical and laser. Optical sensors are most often equipped with cheap models, but this does not mean that they do not suit us and do not meet the requirements. Laser sensors are generally more expensive than optical sensors and are no worse, but they are difficult to use on some surfaces. Ultimately, it’s up to you to choose based on personal preference, because for the average gamer, both options will do.

              Personalization

Many gaming mice have the ability to customize, and this is not only software settings, but also external changes. Often, stock software allows you to set up user profiles for different games, including the functionality of programmable buttons and lighting. Some models even involve design changes, offering attachment to the mouse supports for the thumb and little finger.

              How the assessment was made

The editors of Popular Mechanics always keep abreast of new peripherals by regularly testing keyboards, mice and joysticks from leading brands such as Logitech and Razer. In addition, they have been fond of the gaming industry all their lives. This list was compiled on the basis of our own procurement and is based on an unbiased selection. In order to be able to choose the best options for different game genres when forming the list, based on the individual preferences of the players, the CPI value, the shape of the mouse, the number of additional buttons, and some other parameters were taken into account. In addition, when preparing the list, more than 10 third-party sources with independent expertise were studied, such as PCgamer, Tech Radar, RTings and others. And work was done to study more than 10,000 user reviews. Be sure that these are really the best mice of this year.

              Best

Corsair Dark Core RGB Pro SE Wireless

Dark Core RGB Pro SE Wireless Gaming Mouse
              Corsair

              Benefits:

              • pinky and thumb supports;

              • 8 programmable buttons;

              • excellent performance both wired and wireless.

              Drawbacks:

The Dark Core RGB Pro SE Wireless Gaming Mouse is a high performance peripheral that looks as cool as it responds to your hand movements. The smooth rubber and plastic construction ensures that the mouse does not get hot even during long gaming sessions. The hand contact points are textured and replaceable for added comfort, while the thumb and little finger are very comfortable on the mouse for quick movements. RGB lighting surrounds the scroll wheel and all 8 programmable buttons. Omron mechanical switches are used under each button, which gives a pleasant click during the destruction of opponents in shooters. The stock software from Corsair includes the iCUE setup program, which allows you to adjust the backlight, prescribe macros and adjust the sensitivity. The mouse is equipped with a large battery that provides up to 50 hours of use on a full charge. Among the accessories is a special Qi mousepad, which is not only a surface for the mouse, but will also charge it – you do not have to pay attention to the battery charge during the game.

              Best for shooters (FPS)

              Razer DeathAdder V2

Razer DeathAdder V2 Wired Gaming Mouse

              Pros:

              Cons:

              • whimsical software.

The Razer DeathAdder V2 is a large gaming mouse with a deceptively light feel. The large rubberized body provides a comfortable grip and, as a result, precise movements. However, the mouse may feel uncomfortable if you have small hands, in which case it is recommended to look at other options. The mechanical buttons of other mice on the list cannot match the speed of the optical switches in this model. Each press is smooth, and this provides an instant response. This is especially useful in situations where you need to aim from above the enemy, aiming at the chest or head in a fraction of a second. Razer’s Synapse software lets you customize each button, lighting, and sensitivity. And since the Razer DeathAdder V2 is wired, and therefore does not use wireless components, it is also a bargain. Premium housing and reinforced SpeedFlex wire for virtually no drag when sliding over surfaces, do not give the impression that this is a device costing around $ 50.

              Lightest

              HyperX Pulsefire Haste

              HyperX Pulsefire Haste

              Pros:

              Cons:

HyperX takes traditional gaming mice and put them on a diet, thanks to the use of a lightweight perforated body. The result is a durable and breathable shell that does not stick to your hand even after winning the game :). The mouse has a minimalistic design, but the pads included in the kit allow you to make both the body and the buttons exactly the way you see them. Like the Razer DeathAdder V2 mouse, it uses a special wire material that reduces friction. This pairs especially well with the low weight of the mouse, so you can move with minimal resistance. The mouse software allows you to customize button functions, RGB lighting, and CPI settings.

              Most versatile

              Razer Naga Pro Wireless

Razer Naga Pro Wireless Gaming Mouse

              Advantages:

              Disadvantages:

              • 9 0002 heavy;

              • high price.

Instead of trying to tailor the design of the mouse to a particular game genre, the Naga Pro features an innovative interchangeable side panel that allows you to set the buttons that you need in a particular game. Do you play shooter? Set up a panel with two buttons so you can focus on shooting and reloading. Decided to play something tactical, like MOBA? Install a panel with six buttons, which will allow you to use more options. If you’re playing an MMO, then you might be interested in a panel that already contains 12 buttons, thus allowing you to access all the skills of your character. The Naga Pro is quite heavy due to this mechanism, but its versatility means you’ll have a mouse for any occasion. The battery can last up to 150 hours when connected via Bluetooth, and up to 100 hours when connected via 2. 4 GHz.

              Best Budget

              Logitech G502 Hero

Logitech G502 Hero Wired Gaming Mouse

              Pros:

              Cons:

                9 0019

                simple design.

The Logitech G502 Hero mouse is one of the most popular mice of all time for an obvious and good reason – the great price tag. The high performance sensor delivers 25,600 CPI for perfect sensitivity. The weight of the mouse is 121 grams, but if this is not enough, you can add another 18 grams, in increments of 3.6 grams, thanks to special weights. The mouse has a built-in memory and can store the settings of 5 profiles, each of which can be configured with 11 buttons in accordance with the genre of the game. In addition, Logitech’s GHUB software is one of the best in the industry: it’s easy to use and supports 3rd party application integration for example, the functions of the application OBS , used on streams. Even though the standard price of a mouse is $80, it is very common to find it under $50.

              Fast & Wireless

Razer Basilisk Ultimate with Charging Dock

Razer Basilisk Ultimate with Charging Dock

              Pros:

              Cons:

              The

Basilisk Ultimate Wireless Mouse lets you excel in the most dynamic eSports. In addition to high CPI, this model uses optical switches to ensure the minimum delay between pressing and response, which will allow you to use all your reflexes. Thanks to 11 buttons, which are of course programmable, you can use the mouse in any genre of games. The kit includes a docking station that charges the battery – a full charge is enough for 100 hours. While charging, the mouse will not work, but due to the large capacity of the battery, you will not have to do this so often.

              Most customizable

              Mad Catz R.A.T. 8 Plus

              Mad Catz R.A.T. 8 Plus

              Advantages:

              Disadvantages:

In addition to software that allows you to configure anything, Mad Catz has developed the R. A.T. 8 Plus in such a way that you can take it apart and configure it to fit any hand size and shape. For example, the pinky and palm rests included in the kit have three options use whichever is more comfortable. The thumb rest is also adjustable. Despite the extensive customization options, the mouse is quite expensive, especially for a wired model, and not everyone will like the strange appearance. However, no other gaming mouse will give you the ability to change almost every component to create a design that is unique and comfortable for you. If you like swapping keys on your keyboard, building a PC, modding, then the R.A.T. 8 Plus will stimulate your design skills, allowing you to give the mouse maximum functionality and even some aesthetics.

              Best for big hand

              Corsair Ironclaw RGB FPS/MOBA

              Corsair Ironclaw RGB FPS/MOBA

              Advantage:

              Disadvantage:

              90 018

            2. heavy.

            3. Players with big hands can sometimes feel like a bear when looking for a mouse under their huge paws. Small gaming mice can cause cramps and even hand problems, while larger models often lack precision and comfortable buttons. This mouse has been designed with these players in mind – it combines more with the best. The Ironclaw RGB has a soft-touch rubber body and a wax-like scroll wheel with a comfortable texture. The sleek design fits perfectly in the palm of a large hand, while the thoughtful shape provides easy access to the buttons. These same buttons feature durable Omron switches that are guaranteed to last up to 50 million clicks. Although this model is quite heavy, it feels more solid than bulky.

Take note of our guidelines and tips because each monitor is a little bit different and only one is the perfect fit for you.

We will help you make sure that the monitor you pick has the right panel type, response time speed and other features for you.

If you want to view our changelogs for this particular buying guide, you can do so at the end of this article.

    The Pros:

    • Wide viewing angles
    • FreeSync and MBR up to 100Hz
    • Slim design

    The Cons:

    • No VESA mount compatibility
    • Tilt-only design
    • No audio jack

    About The Monitor

The Acer SB242Y EBI is the most cost-efficient and one of the best monitors for gaming under 100 USD.

It features a 23.8-inch 1080p IPS display for a vibrant and crisp image quality while the quick 4ms response time, 100Hz refresh rate and AMD FreeSync guarantee smooth performance.

    Image Quality

A 24″ sized monitor is the biggest screen you can get under $100, which is perfectly fine considering that the Full HD 1920×1080 resolution looks great on this screen size with a pixel density of 92.56 PPI (pixels per inch).

In contrast, 1080p resolution on a 27″ monitor has a pixel density of only 81 PPI, which results in more pixelated image quality and smudgy details.

Next, the Acer SB242Y EBI uses an IPS panel with 178° wide viewing angles, ensuring that the image remains the same regardless of the angle you’re looking at it.

There are no gamma/saturation shifts and the colors are consistent with ~95% sRGB color space coverage, making the monitor suitable for basic color-critical work.

As expected from an IPS panel display, there is some IPS glow, which is characterized as visible glowing around the corners of the screen that changes in intensity depending on the angle you’re looking at the screen.

IPS glow is manageable as it’s mostly visible when displaying dark content with high brightness settings in a dark room.

Another drawback of IPS technology is the mediocre contrast ratio of 1,000:1, which results in somewhat grayish blacks in comparison to VA panels with a contrast ratio of around 3,000:1.

VA monitors have other drawbacks, including a slower response time and narrower viewing angles.

    Features

The 100Hz refresh rate provides you with a noticeable boost in motion clarity in comparison to 60Hz and 75Hz displays. In fact, the difference between 100Hz and 60Hz is more noticeable than the difference between 100Hz and 144Hz!

Besides getting a more responsive gaming experience, just moving your cursor around and scrolling web pages will feel a lot smoother too thanks to 100Hz.

If you have a FreeSync-compatible AMD graphics card, you will be able to use the full potential of the monitor. AMD FreeSync synchronizes the display’s refresh rate with the GPU’s frame rate and allows the monitor’s refresh rate to change dynamically.

As a result, all screen tearing and stuttering are gone for good up to 100FPS.

In case you have an NVIDIA card, you will still be able to use the monitor up to 100Hz, but not the dynamic refresh rate technology as the SB242Y doesn’t have a DisplayPort input (nor does any sub-$100 monitor).

The monitor also offers additional gaming features, including Black Boost (increases visibility in dark games), Motion Blur Reduction, various picture presets and a refresh rate tracker.

    Design & Connectivity

The Acer SB242Y EBI boasts a slim design with ultra-thin bezels making it an ideal choice for multi-monitor setups as well. Connectivity includes one HDMI 1.4 input and one VGA port; for FreeSync, you will need to use the HDMI port.

Alas, the monitor is not VESA mount compatible and the stand is tilt-only.

    Alternatives

If you want a 24″ 1080p IPS monitor with a VESA mount compatible design, you’ll have to spend a bit over $100 for the ASUS VA24DQ (or one of its alternatives mentioned in the review), but it has a lower 75Hz refresh rate. In that case, you should check out our best monitors under $150 guide.

    The Pros:

    • High contrast ratio
    • FreeSync and MBR up to 100Hz
    • Slim design
    • VESA mount compatible

    The Cons:

    • Tilt-only design
    • No audio jack

    About The Monitor

The Acer KC242Y Hbi is similar to the SB242Y EBI model, except that it has a VA panel instead of IPS, and a VESA mount compatible design.

    Image Quality

Here’s the deal: thanks to its superior static contrast ratio of 3,000:1 as opposed to 1,000:1 of IPS monitors, blacks will be notably deeper, thus providing you with more vivid details in shadows. On top of that, there’s no IPS glow, making for a more immersive viewing experience in dark rooms.

Now, the viewing angles aren’t quite as good as they are on IPS panel displays as there are some minor gamma/saturation shifts, but they are still pretty good nonetheless — much better than that of any TN monitor.

The monitor also supports AMD FreeSync over HDMI up to 100Hz for tear-free gameplay and has the same features as the SB242Y, including MBR, Black Boost, picture presets, etc.

Another disadvantage of VA panels, at least in this price range, is the slower pixel response time speed, which results in more ghosting behind fast-moving objects, particularly in darker scenes, but most users will find it tolerable.

In the end, choosing between an IPS and a VA monitor comes down to personal preference.

    Design & Connectivity

The Acer KC242Y Hbi features a slim design. The stand is tilt-only by -5°/15°, but you can mount the screen via the 75x75mm VESA pattern.

Connectivity options include one VGA port and one HDMI 1.4 port.

    Alternatives

In case the KC242Y Hbi is not available, check out the Acer EK241Y Hbi (VESA mount compatible) and the Acer SB242Y Hbi (not VESA mount compatible) with the same specifications.

If you want a smaller monitor, consider the Acer SB222Q Hbi with a 21.5″ 1080p 100Hz VA panel (not VESA mount compatible) and the Philips 221V8LN with a 75Hz refresh rate and VESA mount compatible design.

You can sometimes find the Viotek GFV22CB with a 22″ 1080p VA panel and a 144Hz refresh rate for ~$100.

    The Pros:

    • High contrast ratio
    • FreeSync up to 75Hz
    • Slim design with a curved and VESA mount compatible screen
    • Headphone jack, built-in speakers

    The Cons:

    • Tilt-only design

    About The Monitor

You can even get a curved monitor under $100, the Sceptre C248W-1920RNT!

    Image Quality

The Sceptre C248W-1920RNT has a VA panel, so you get the same deep blacks as you would with the Acer KC242Y Hbi. Sadly, it has a lower 75Hz refresh rate, therefore, motion clarity won’t be as smooth.

It supports FreeSync over HDMI, but with a more limited 48-75Hz range, meaning that variable refresh rate won’t work below 48FPS.

    Design & Connectivity

The screen has a steep 1500R curvature for added immersion, the stand is tilt-only, but you can mount the display via the 100x100mm VESA pattern.

Connectivity options include two HDMI 1.4 ports, VGA, a headphone jack and an audio line-in port for the speakers if you’re using VGA.

    Alternatives

If you want a curved monitor, we highly recommend investing a bit more in the AOC C24G1A. It has an ergonomic stand, a wider color gamut and a high 165Hz refresh rate – it can be found on sale for as low as $120.

    Conclusion

    What’s the bottom line?

Overall, we find that most users will be most satisfied with the Acer KC242Y Hbi thanks to its 100Hz, VESA mount compatible design and high contrast ratio.

If you’d rather have wider viewing angles than deep blacks, get the Acer SB242Y EBI instead.

In case you want a curved monitor, the Sceptre C248W-1920RNT is a decent option for the price, but we highly recommend investing a bit more in the AOC C24G1A.

For gamers, we highly recommend investing a bit more in a 144Hz gaming monitor, which can be found for under $150.

Most of the products we recommend here at WePC have gone through a strict testing process that involves everything from the price and performance, to build quality, efficiency, and aesthetics. Each product is pushed to the limit to see how it performs under intense stress to make sure it warrants our coveted top spot.

Doing this enables us to provide you with the most accurate review of how the product performs and, ultimately, whether it’s worth your hard-earned cash.

    Things To Consider

No matter what you are purchasing there are always going to be key things to consider to ensure you get the right product for your needs. Whether the product is a gaming monitor under $100 or a new gaming mouse, it is crucial to understand what makes each model the best, so you don’t waste your hard-earned cash.

Below, we are going to go over a few key factors for you to take into consideration before buying a new gaming monitor. This will help you in the selection process and ultimately make sure you walk away with the best product for your specific needs.

    Refresh Rates

A monitors refresh rate is highly important to gamers. The rate is measured in hertz and is a way of seeing how fast a monitor can refresh the image on the screen. Refresh rates vary from 60Hz all the way up to 240Hz and beyond but when dealing with gaming monitors under $100, the vast majority are running at 60Hz.

60Hz is ideal for everyday usage and not favored among gamers but when we have strict budgets there are always going to be compromises and refresh rates are one of these. 60Hz is fine for competitive gaming, although most competitive players would consider this too low. That being said if you enjoy single-player games, this refresh rate is going to be better suited to you.

    Screen Resolution

A screens resolution can have a direct impact on your PC’s performance but when dealing with monitors under $100, they are often going to be 1080p. 1080p full HD monitors are the kings of budget gaming monitors, with 1440p and 4K options out of reach. If you have a high-end gaming PC, buying a budget sub-$100 gaming monitor with 1080p resolution is considered a waste as you could be getting much more out of your hardware.

We understand not everyone has extra money to spare on extravagant monitor upgrades but you should definitely consider going for monitors over at least $150, to get more use out of them and of course, more enjoyment.

    Panel Types

There are many different types of panel technologies, with most modern monitors being manufactured using TFT-LCD (thin-film transistor-liquid crystal display) technology. Each different technology has its own pros and cons and perform differently in specific scenarios. Some types are more responsive, while others are better for wide viewing angles and color reproduction.

The main panel types are TN (twisted nematic), VA (vertical alignment), and IPS (in-plane switching). To better understand the positives and negatives take a look at the table below.

    Consider Refurbished Monitors

The main reason to consider a refurbished product is simply down to cash. you’re going to get really good deals on used displays, a number of which will be better than either of the options that we’ve offered above and you can still take advantage of a gaming monitor that comes under $100!

While it may be a tough sell for many to buy monitors that aren’t brand new, compromising with refurbished monitors on a budget can often pay off by granting you access to higher refresh rates, lower response times and lower prices for acceptable 1080p monitors.

    Where To Buy

If you’re in the market for refurbished monitors, some places to check out are Microcenter and BenQDirect. These outlets provide the best deals you’ll find on refurbished monitors, with BenQDirect offering high-end BenQ monitors with a 1-year warranty.

For those more familiar with Amazon you can see a wide range of refurbished stock for multiple different monitor options. Simply find the product you want and click on ‘Used & New’ to see the various buying options and graded stock.

    What To Look For

When shopping for refurbished monitors, try to find ones with better specs than new monitors in the same price range. If you’re settling for refurbished, you should get something to compensate for that even if it is just a lower price.

One thing to look for is a 144Hz refresh rate. This will make your games feel smoother and more responsive than they would otherwise.

Another thing to look for is 1ms response times. These are surprisingly common for refurbs under $100 and will minimize input latency between you and your monitor. Do bear in mind gaming still feels responsive up to 5ms but you would expect a better quality of panel for this compromise like IPS.

Other things you may appreciate from a refurb are 24 inch+ monitor sizes, more adjustable features, or just a monitor that is visually pleasing on the eye.

    Issues To Look For

Buying refurbs is normally fine and covered under warranty for any on-arrival problems. Used monitors, however, typically have at least a few issues. From tiny to most severe, here’s what to look out for:

    • Mild Cosmetic Damage – Mild scratches to the bezels and screen, or a dirty screen. These can be ignored or cleaned, respectively.
    • Dead Pixels – Dead pixels refer to pixels that are stuck on one color, like white, and do not change in accordance with the rest of the screen. Typically there will only be one or two dead pixels on a screen since it’s a manufacturing defect, and while it can mostly be ignored it can drive you crazy if you pay attention to it.
    • Backlight Bleed – Backlight bleed occurs when either a backlight is too powerful, or other parts of the monitor are starting to fail. This will result in weird differences in brightness on different sections of the screen, especially noticeable in dark rooms.
    • Flickering – Flickering is a common reality of CRT monitors, but it can happen to LCD monitors too. Not only is flickering annoying, but in the long-term, it can cause headaches or nausea to those who are particularly sensitive to it.
    • Burn-In – When an image is simply burned into the screen. Usually manifests as an afterimage on the screen, most often seen in common taskbar locations at the top, bottom or sides of a display.
    • Major Damage – Cracks in the screen, loose power connectors, etc. If you notice any of these issues, do not buy.

What to expect when buying a gaming monitor under $100

With the average price of gaming monitors starting to fall, we’ll be looking at the realistic expectations of buying a monitor under $100.

At this price point, you’ll struggle to find a monitor with high-end specifications.

That said, you’ll still be able to get 100Hz (maybe 144Hz on sale) refresh rates and 1ms response times.

You can also expect a 1080p FHD screen resolution and 24-inch screen – with HDR rare at this price point.

Build materials will likely be of lower quality, with stand adjustments limited.
