The minimalistic appearance, coupled with a pleasant to the touch matte soft-touch plastic, gives the most amazing tactile sensations when interacting with the device – it’s just nice to take it in your hands. The soft touch is a bit flimsy, but all these blunders are almost invisible on it. And yet, removing them from the surface is a rather laborious process. All this strict look is diluted with dotted copper accents on the surface of the cups and the Sony logo on the cups. The outer and inner part of the headband is upholstered in soft leather with dense and elastic foam inside, this also applies to the ear cups. They have a pronounced oval shape, and their ear pads are made of artificial leather, which is very pleasant to the touch. The same applies to dense foam filler. There is not much space inside the cups, so the ears will constantly touch something, but due to the softness of the pads, I never experienced discomfort. The frame of the headband is metal, and you should not worry about reliability here. The cups on the WH-1000XM3 have freedom of movement both vertically and horizontally, so they adapt to the head in the best way. Moreover, for compact packing in a case, the cups rotate by 90 degrees horizontally, and the hinges built into the temple and headband joints allow the cups to fold down to minimize space usage. In short, in terms of both fit ergonomics and laying ergonomics, this model is second to none. And yet, it should be borne in mind that these full-sized ears, even with such chips, will take up a solid piece of space in a backpack – you definitely can’t throw them into your pocket. 
The battery life of the WH-1000XM3 is about 30 hours with the noise canceling system, and about 38 hours without it. Charging time is about 3 hours, and the device supports fast charging, which allows you to replenish energy in ten minutes to work up to several hours. An NFC tag is also available, but it will only work with Android smartphones, since the NFC functions of iPhones are not designed for pairing. 
In short, even with a hood on your head, it will be comfortable to walk along the street in this headset. Due to the soft headband and ear pads, the device is not felt at all on the head. If you asked me which headphones are the most comfortable fit for everyday wear, I would answer “Sony” without hesitation, because I can definitely sit and walk all day long in them without any fatigue. This also applies to stationary musical models. The passive noise isolation of the device is average, but the ANC system quickly solves this issue. 
It is clear that visually such a solution looks much more advantageous purely from the point of view of aesthetics, but, really, I would prefer functional, time-tested, ordinary mechanical buttons to it. Which are on the left cup and are responsible for turning on the headset and for switching noise reduction modes. They work! And conveniently located. 
And Sony in their current form looks great, but at the mention of touch control, everything becomes not so rosy. For warm weather, this is a more or less normal option, but in cold weather, the WH-1000XM3 will have to think hard about the convenience of this thing. 
I just wanted to adjust the noise canceling! No more. But this is Sony, you have to get used to it. The only positive is that after a one-time setup, you can forget about this application for a long time. You can check the charge on an iPhone using the “Batteries”, and the noise reduction control is already on a separate button. 
For conversations, it will do, especially since there is not much required, and it would be foolish to expect high-quality timbre transmission and other voice features from a wireless headset. Moreover, all background noises are decently muffled, and you will be heard even on a busy street. 
Moreover, it is convenient – to sit and play without wires! In addition, the PC is not the only sector for the use of these ears, this is also worth remembering. And the WH-1000XM3 also has an analog connection cable, so the headphones turned out to be as versatile as possible. But still, for the most part, they are not for this. 
Comparing this is incorrect, so it’s just food for thought. Like what to expect from Sonek. It is worth remembering that an analog connection via a 3.5 mm cable always works (only there will be no active noise reduction), and the cable is also made in such a way that the microphone will not work at all with a wired connection. One last thing: do not forget that with an analog connection, the sound may vary depending on the source used. 
The mids play fast, the vocals sound melodious and addictive, but in places it still lacks pressure and confidence. That is, the singer breathes into his ear, everything is as it should be, but I would like a little more affirmative sound. The tops of the Sonek are very sonorous, clear, separate and well detailed, but for my taste, they are quite distinguishable against the general background, and sometimes you just want to put them in the background a little so that they don’t “click” once again. Sometimes percussion in music is felt more noticeable than we would like, but this is done with the allowance for the fact that in a noisy environment, even with active ANC, some of these frequencies will be lost. Which is “compensated” in advance in the overall sound picture. 
And among them all, Sony has the most powerful noise reduction. On the one hand, this is good, because it really cuts off most of the environment, and only sharp and really important sounds get inside even when listening to music (such as car signals or people calling). However, Sony also has the most aggressive noise reduction on the market, which is why after several hours with this mode you really want to take off your headphones from your head and “emerge” from this underwater world, because they press about the same as if you were at a depth of several meters under water. 
Oddly enough, I listened to their WF-1000XM3 model (these are in-ear TWS headphones), and the noise reduction worked much softer there. It is clear that all this is individual and depends on personal perception, but I was sure of only one thing: Sony has the best ANC system, the advantage of which is complete isolation from the world, and the disadvantage is too strong an impact on the head. 
The reason is simple: this device, perhaps, will have a decent number of opponents who have certain functions that work well, but so far no one has been able to implement the principle of “all at once” so competently.
