Dyson v6 review: A large price drop makes the Dyson v6 a whole new Animal

Editors’ Note, February 12, 2015: Dyson renamed the DC59 Animal and changed the price. It’s now called the Dyson v6, and sits at the low end of the rebranded v6 line of stick vacs. The price dropped from $500 to $300, increasing the value significantly while only losing a couple of included attachments. We’ve updated the review accordingly.

A newcomer to reasonably priced machines, Dyson makes its old Animal look pretty good now that it doesn’t cost an arm and a leg. Formerly called the Dyson DC59 Animal, the newly dubbed Dyson v6 got a fresh coat of paint and lost a couple of attachments in the changeover, but also dropped in price from $500 to $300. That’s a great trade, and since you no longer have to pay twice as much as any other stick vacuum to get it, the solid performance of the Dyson v6 shines even brighter than before.

That said, it’s still not a clear cut winner in the category. The $180 Hoover Linx outdoes it with pet hair and Cheerios, and those are the most important benchmarks for the typical spot cleaning tasks assigned to a stick vac. However, the Dyson v6 wasn’t far behind on either, and it far outclasses the Linx when it comes to deep cleaning. It falls short of being an upright replacement, but comes closer than the Linx. For that reason, especially at its $300 price point, it’s well worth your consideration.

Design and Features
The Dyson v6 is an ultra-lightweight, cordless, cyclonic vacuum. The in-hand component, which includes the motor, cyclones, and dustbin, weighs only 4. 6 pounds by itself. Granted, you have to add weight for each attachment you might use, but even with the extension wand and floor cleaning nozzle, I still found it to be incredibly light and portable. These attachments lock into place with ease and you can switch between them with the touch of a button.

The number of attachments you get with the v6 has dropped quite a bit since it was called the DC59 Animal. To go along with the price cut, you’ll now only get a combi tool and a docking station to hang your vac on the wall while it charges. The rest of the v6 line offers more attachments, topping off with the $600 Dyson v6 Absolute, which includes a crevice tool, a combi tool, a mini motorized tool, and a dusting brush.

The floor cleaning nozzle is 10 inches wide and 3 inches tall. Its lower profile means that the v6 can sweep further under lower furniture than models like the Gtech AirRam . It doesn’t clean along a very wide path compared to a standard upright, but it’s similar to other lightweight models on the market, like the Electrolux Ergorapido Power , which boasts a 10. 25-inch wide cleaning base.

The appearance of the v6 was revolutionary when it first came out, because you hold all of the mechanics and the bin in your hand, rather than in the body of the vacuum. I found that design gave the v6 strong ergonomics. The $180 Shark Rocket has a similar design, though it also has a cord. The Dyson dust bin’s capacity is relatively small, though not much smaller than similar models. A button across from the trigger releases the bin’s latch. I know we’ve complained about emptying Dyson dustbins in other reviews, but I found the bin on the v6 incredibly user-friendly. In addition, the release mechanism didn’t inspire any durability concerns like its larger companions.

In order to preserve battery life and reduce wasted energy, Dyson uses a trigger in lieu of an on/off switch. With a trigger, you only use the vacuum when you’re approaching debris, rather than it running continuously while you move furniture or go to a different location, thereby preserving battery life. I found the trigger to be very responsive, sometimes too responsive in that I accidentally depressed it a few times while carrying the Dyson from place to place. The battery life isn’t bad, but the Gtech AirRam, Electrolux UltraPower Studio and Electrolux Ergorapido Power vacuumed longer without needing a charge.

The blue indicator light on the base of the v6 will flash when the battery is low. Unfortunately, due to its size and placement, I never noticed it while vacuuming and the vacuum died on me a few times as a result. I wish there was a more obvious indicator like the four-stage light bar on the AirRam, which always visually presented when the battery was running low in a clear, easily-observed manner. Still, if you’re using your v6 as a light cleaning or touch-up vacuum and store it on the charging dock, you shouldn’t have to worry about running out of battery in the middle of a run.

While I love the convenience afforded by this cordless design, what’s most impressive about the v6 is that it boasts better performance than some of the full-size upright vacuums we tested. This is likely attributable to the digital motor and nickel manganese cobalt Lithium-ion battery. The motor spins up to 110,000 times a minute, which Dyson says translates to 28 air watts (an airflow measurement for vacuums) when used in standard mode, or 100 air watts in boosted mode.

Generally speaking, the higher the wattage, the greater the suction. The v6’s standard mode air watts are the same as the previous model, the DC44 Animal. The DC59’s boosted mode is, however, a significant improvement upon the DC44’s boosted 65 air watts. For comparison, the Dyson Ball Compact Animal claims 128 air watts.

Granted, this is significantly more than the v6 can boast in its standard mode but the Ball Compact Animal is meant to be the primary vacuuming appliance in the home, suitable for both deep and spot cleaning alike. The v6, on the other hand, is not meant to be the vacuum used to deep-clean carpet. As such, these numbers aren’t troubling. Rather, it’s impressive that the v6 can produce 100 air watts when necessary, albeit for a shorter period of time.

Usability
In my testing of the v6, I found it to be incredibly manoeuvrable. This is due in part to its light weight, but also because of a pivoting ball on the cleaner head reminiscent of the full-size Dyson ball technology. As the bulk of the weight rests in your hand, the v6 is easy to push forward when using the extension wand but you’ll have no trouble using it with attachments either. While the distribution of the appliance’s weight has something to do with this, the triggered power certainly doesn’t hurt. Its responsiveness makes you feel completely in control, enabling you to vacuum where you need to without draining the battery more than necessary.

I also appreciate that the attachments snap into place and unlock with the press of a button. The same is true of the bin, which empties without any hiccups. In addition, I also found it incredibly intuitive to load the v6 onto the charging/wall dock. In terms of useful design, I think Dyson hit it out of the park with this model. I wasn’t a fan of the design of the full-size Dysons, but it’s clear that a lot of thought went into making the v6 easy to use without sacrificing any of the sleek, modern appeal that has become the company’s hallmark.

Performance
As with all appliances we review, we put the v6 through a series of rigorous tests to assess both performance and usability. Our tests are intended to mimic the characteristics of common household debris, including Fruity Cheerios, a sand and sawdust blend to simulate fine particulate debris, pet hair, and human hair, which we took from a set of hair extensions. We performed each test three times on three different surfaces, which included low-pile carpet, mid-pile carpet, and hardwood/laminate floors. We also conducted a torture test that involved bobby pins and nuts.

In the charts and pictures below, the v6 is still referred to as the DC59.

In addition to these performance tests, we tested each vacuum’s suction power at the floor, via a sealed homemade box with a 1-by-6-inch slot on top and a 2-inch diameter PVC pipe connected to the side. Placing the vacuum’s cleaning head over the slot on the lid, we used an anemometer at the PVC opening to record suction power in CFM or cubic feet per minute.

These measurements represent how much suction each vacuum has on the floor, independent of debris type. The v6 has two modes, a default power and a high power setting. On the high setting, the Dyson boasted the second best suction of the lightweight vacuums we tested in this group. On normal power, the v6 produced average suction, though less than both the Electrolux Ergorapido Power or the Shark Rocket on their default power settings.

Suction power isn’t the only key to a vacuum’s success, however. The design of the roller brush and cleaning head, as well as how well that brush seals to the carpet will also have an impact on overall performance, but the suction power measurement gives us an idea of the raw cleaning power each vacuum can muster. The v6 is capable of strong suction, but it’s carbon fiber brush bar took it over the top in terms of performance. The fibers sit close enough together to trap debris, but they’re also fine enough that they release the debris so that the suction can carry it to the bin. For our performance tests, we tested every vacuum in its default performance mode.

On low-pile carpet, the v6 was at or near the top of the pack in every test in terms of performance, though the top scores were all close. This vacuum seems to excel on this carpet, largely because the base plate could get over top of the debris. If you expect to vacuum a lot of larger debris like cereal, this ability will be especially important to you.

With the exception of pet hair, the v6 was again in the top three in terms of performance on mid-pile carpet. With higher-pile carpet, agitation is important, especially when fine particulates or clingy pet hair are involved. The v6 performed admirably, though it didn’t blow us away in terms of mid-pile carpet performance. Like most stick vacs, the v6 might be the vacuum you use for frequent light cleaning, but you’ll still need a full-sized vacuum to really agitate your higher-pile carpet to clean it well.

Hard floors seem to be challenging for vacuum cleaners. For vacuums with good suction, fine particulates or small debris shouldn’t be a problem. Even with the most powerful vacuums, however, large debris can prove problematic, especially if the bottom plate of the cleaner head is unable to clear it. It’s a problem that the softer brushroll of the v6 Absolute helped address and one of the main advantages you get from the more expensive model.

On hard floors, without that softer brushroll, the v6 struggled with large debris, but it excelled at picking up fine particles. The latter is a testament to the v6’s suction power as well as the fine, closely-space carbon fiber bristles. It’s also worth noting that, while it didn’t pick up all of the pet hair, it picked up more than half of it.

Closely-spaced, carbon fiber bristles gave the DC59 the upper hand with fine debris on hard floors. While they weren’t the best for agitating small debris on mid-pile carpet, the DC59’s excellent suction helped to make up some of the difference. Colin West McDonald/CNET

With our standard-sized, upright vacuums, I thought that the hard floor tests, while important for our review, were somewhat unrealistic in terms of practical, real-life application. After all, for cereal spills, you’d likely use your broom and dustpan before going to the trouble of pulling out and plugging in the vacuum cleaner. I think that the v6 would be perfect for spot cleaning in the kitchen or on any of your other hard surfaces. Given it’s performance with fine debris, it would also be an excellent answer for dusty baseboards or crumbs under the cabinet.

While it didn’t necessarily excel with large debris like the Cheerios when the wand and floor cleaning head were attached, I had no trouble sweeping them up when I attached the combination tool, making the v6 function more like the dust busters of old. I love this flexible functionality.

Human hair was challenging for many of the upright vacuums we tested, no matter the flooring type. If your home is populated by short-haired inhabitants, this will not be a concern for you. If your home is like mine, however, and inhabited by long-haired humans and animals alike, this may be more important. With regards to brushroll tangling, the v6 wasn’t the best, but it certainly wasn’t the worst. Fortunately, I found it easy to access the brushroll and to pull the hair from around it.

In addition to the more practical tests, we also subjected all of the vacuums to a bit of a torture test. For these lightweight vacuums, that meant spreading 1.25 ounces of bobby pins and small nuts onto low pile carpet. This final test wasn’t a performance test as much as it was a test of overall ruggedness. We wanted to know if the appliance would break if you accidentally vacuum over a bobby pin or a coin. The v6 wasn’t able to complete the testing because the nuts kept jamming the roller brush. Of the 25 bobby pins in the total weight, this Dyson collected only three into its bin. That said, even with the brush jam, the vacuum didn’t break. While it didn’t excel, the v6 did pass this test.

Maintenance and Support
The v6 requires the same maintenance of cyclonic upright vacuums, which involves regularly emptying the bin and rinsing the filter once a month, according to Dyson’s directions. Beyond that, Dyson offers a two-year parts and labor warranty. This isn’t ungenerous, but the cheaper Shark Rocket comes standard with a five-year limited warranty. That’s an outlier, though, and the Dyson’s warranty matches that of the rest of the vacuums in this test group.

Conclusion

Finally, with the $300 Dyson v6, you can obtain a Dyson machine without feeling like you have to take out a loan. To make things better, the v6 is a very good stick vacuum. You only get one attachment with this model, but the combi tool is a good one. The rest of the line includes more and uses a direct drive brushroll. The top model, the v6 Absolute , even adds a hardwood specific soft roller. Other than extras, though, the engine and core of each v6 is the same.

So to me, shelling out the extra dough for the $400 v6 Motorhead , the $500 v6 Animal, or the $600 v6 Absolute doesn’t feel worth it. $300 is just right. Compared with other brands, it’s still a pretty costly stick vac, but at least this one’s in the same ballpark. Our main issue with the usually competent Dyson has always been price. The v6 fixes that and it’s now much easier to recommend. Don’t forget about the excellent $180 Hoover Linx in your shopping, but the Dyson v6 is definitely worth a look.

Appearance and function

The vacuum cleaner is supplied in a small stretched box made of strong corrugated cardboard. The box does not have a handle, but the outside is wrapped in a film to which you can attach a traditional adhesive tape handle without any damage to the appearance of the box itself. The design of the box is strict and informative, on the planes it is clearly told about the main advantages and features of the unit, about the methods of use, the equipment with pictures is given, and the exact weight is indicated so that the integrity of the equipment can be determined by weighing (4. 99 kg – however, all our scales showed exactly 5 kg).

Minimal plastic packaging is used, while corrugated board inserts and baffles are used to protect and distribute components.

The vacuum cleaner is delivered almost ready for use – it only needs to be unpacked and the accessories needed at the moment are docked to the main unit.

The main parts of the body and accessories are made of different types of plastic. Opaque structural elements are mainly made of ABS, transparent ones are made of polycarbonate (a dust collector glass, for example).

The surface of ABS parts is mirror-smooth, apparently uncoated, but small damages and scratches are invisible on them, since the plastic is not too light and not too dark, but gray (with a slight shade of brown) and slightly silver, in places with stains from filler concentration variations. The fine cyclone unit has a dark gray silver scratch-resistant finish on the outside.

The inner cup of the large cyclone is now made of red elastic plastic, and the extension tube is made of aluminum, anodized on the outside and also red.

In addition to the one we tested, the V6 line of vacuum cleaners includes six more models that differ in names, colors of parts and equipment. At the same time, Total Clean is the most advanced variation, it is also the most expensive.

A plastic liner is inserted inside the pipe, forming a smooth and even channel for the passage of air. At the ends of the pipe, you can see the connectors that connect the electric brush drives to the power source.

The transparent housing of the dust container allows you to see how full it is at a glance. The bottom of the dustbox is made reclining, for this it is enough to pull down the red engine.

A second press releases the dust cup itself – it can be removed together with the inlet pipe.

Assemble in the reverse order: first fix the glass in place and only then close the bottom. From above, a pre-motor filter made of fibrous material is inserted into the hole surrounded by 15 minicyclones. At the end, the post-motor filter is fixed by turning. The name HEPA is not mentioned anywhere, but the manufacturer claims that this filter allows you to “capture the smallest particles, retaining allergens and bacteria as small as 0.3 microns.”

When the filters become dirty, they must be washed with cold water and dried. The manufacturer recommends performing this procedure at least once a month.

Dyson comment: In addition to the frequency of filter rinsing, let’s add the need for proper filter rinsing – filters should be rinsed under running cold water and in the opposite direction to the air flow.

The described parts constitute a five-stage filtration system. On the first, in a large cyclone, large and heavy debris is separated from the air, on the second, large and light debris (wool, fluff, etc.) is retained by a mesh on the inner glass of the dust collector, on the third, 15 small cyclones separate the smallest dust and air, the dust falls into dust container, and the air goes to the fan through the pre-motor filter (fourth stage of filtration), which traps almost everything that managed to leak out, and finally the post-motor filter performs the final cleaning. It should be noted that all joints of detachable structural elements, pipes and nozzles, through which air passes from the surface to be cleaned to the fan, have seals made of rubber or elastic plastic, so the parasitic air suction is negligible. Reliable connection of a branch pipe with a pipe/nozzles and a pipe with nozzles is provided with clamps-latches. In this case, the latches switch to stable positions closed and open. There is no special need for this, since they are conveniently located, but this allows you to separate the push-pull actions in time when disconnecting the nozzle / pipe / nozzle.

The battery is located at the bottom of the handle.

This positioning of the motor, handle and battery brings the vacuum cleaner’s center of gravity closer to the user’s hand, reducing the amount of effort required to vacuum vertical and high objects. Actually, the vacuum cleaner itself, as well as the pipe and simple (without motors) nozzles are light, albeit seemingly reliable. Our measurements of the mass of the parts gave the following results:

Simple (without motor) nozzles are, firstly, a typical crevice.

It is long enough (213 mm) to get into hidden places where dust accumulates, and with a number of holes on the side surface to help maintain the necessary airflow for the operation of the cyclones and cooling the motor while completely blocking the inlet of the nozzle. The length from the tip of the crevice nozzle with the pipe installed to the trigger is more than a meter, that is, as much as the user can lengthen his hand as much as possible when using this vacuum cleaner. Secondly, a combination nozzle with a wider inlet and a sliding brush made of relatively long and soft nylon bristles.

The main wide nozzle has a relatively low profile and is equipped with a hinge with two degrees of freedom (vertical deflection slightly less than 90°, rotation along the pipe by 180°).

This brush can be slipped under long pieces of furniture with a small (from 70 mm) clearance. A brush rotating from an electric motor with two spiral rows of bristles is called upon to actively influence the surface to be cleaned. At the same time, the black row is formed from soft carbon fiber bristles that retain their shape well, and the red row is made from thicker and more rigid nylon bristles. During operation, the transparent cap allows you to determine whether the brush is rotating (it stops, with increased resistance to rotation), and during breaks you can see how much and what is wound on the brush and whether it is time to clean it. To remove the brush shield, you need to turn the lock with a coin (not included in the delivery set), with the same coin you can unscrew the plug from the end to pull the brush out.

An innovation is the placement of the electric drive inside the brush itself. This made it possible to make the ends of the minimum width, as a result, with a brush width of 251 mm, the working width is 228 mm with approximately equal indents on the sides. Velor strips are glued to the body of the nozzle, which help to maintain the necessary air flow on smooth surfaces from below (do not allow the brush to stick tightly) and protect the floor surface from scratches, and in front form a safety bumper for furniture. Two small rollers made of elastic material help to slide the brush on the floor.

In addition, this package includes an electric brush with a similar design, but with a different roller and hinge. This brush has the name Fluffy ( English fluffy).

The rows of black soft carbon fiber bristles on the large roller of this bristle are trimmed with soft, short nylon bristles. Similar to the previous brush, there are safety velor strips and two rollers on the bottom. And in addition, moving along the floor facilitates a roller of small diameter, also with a soft and short nylon pile. Inherited from the previous lineup was a narrow electric brush without a hinge (but with a swivel casing) and with nylon bristles in rare tufts.

The impeller and the engine itself are the company’s own development. Recall that, in comparison with cheaper brushed motors, more expensive brushless motors have the following advantages: higher efficiency and reliability, extended service life (no wearing brushes and commutator), reduced operating noise, reduced level of electromagnetic interference.

There are status indicators on both sides of the handle on the battery pack that glow blue when the vacuum cleaner is in operation if the battery level is sufficient for operation, blink blue when the battery is low, and blink/glow orange when the battery is overheated, and blink red when there is a malfunction batteries. When operating at low battery and a malfunction, a flashing blue light around the power level select button also indicates a malfunction. The vacuum cleaner is charged from the supplied power adapter, the coaxial connector from which is inserted into the reciprocal socket on the back of the handle.

The vacuum cleaner is easily inserted into the bracket and removed from it, it is also charged on it, since the connector from the power adapter is fixed in the bracket, and this connector fits exactly into the mating connector on the handle when the vacuum cleaner is installed.

The length of the power cable from the point of exit from the bracket to the adapter itself is 145 cm. The bottom of the bracket has sockets for crevice and combination nozzle. When the bracket is installed at a sufficient height, the vacuum cleaner can be stored with the installed pipe and one of the electric brush attachments (for the other two, unfortunately, there was no place).

Note that the vacuum cleaner itself and even the battery have a two-year warranty. If necessary, the battery can be replaced by the user himself (replacement instructions are attached to the new battery), for which it is enough to unscrew two self-tapping screws.

The battery has a self-diagnosis function – when the trigger is pressed, the indicator on the failed battery will flash red a certain number of times, corresponding to the type of malfunction.

Dyson comment: The Fluffy nozzle is designed to pick up coarse and fine debris from hard surfaces. The direct drive nozzle is ideal for cleaning the carpet shown in the video.

Testing

Actually, the Dyson V6 vacuum cleaner itself is not much different from the previously reviewed DC62 model, so we did not learn anything fundamentally new. The main innovation is the post-motor high-efficiency filter. It cannot be argued that the fine cyclones and the pre-motor filter did not do their job well, but now allergy sufferers have confidence that allergens will not miss the last line of air purification. Also, minor changes were made to the design of the glass and the inner “skirt” of the dust collector, and it seemed to us that the dust collector became a little easier to install in place. Other changes, if present, are not outwardly manifested in any way. In real use in high power mode, the vacuum cleaner worked for 6 minutes 24 seconds with the combination nozzle. Normal power allowed the Fluffy brush to be used for 18 minutes 22 seconds . This time and the efficiency of normal power is enough for daily cleaning of an apartment area of ​​​​about 40-60 m².

On the new large direct drive brush, the rows of black bristles still show a visible amount of carbon fiber bristles at first, but again we didn’t see any signs of active shedding afterwards. The main advantages of this brush should be considered an increased working width and narrow ends, as well as a large shaft diameter, on which hair and threads are practically not wound, and everything wound is easily removed by hand, without the use of tools.

The Fluffy brush didn’t impress us for some reason. Somehow I can’t believe that it is much more efficient than, for example, the direct drive brush described above. In contrast, the Fluffy has a stiff shaft and short bristles, so it should only work well on flat, smooth surfaces. It is not very clear what useful functional load the second roller of small diameter with a pile carries, since no dirt is removed from it by the air flow, everything just accumulates on it. Also, a lot of dirt accumulates inside the brush body in numerous niches and pockets.

Dyson comment: The Fluffy’s “missing” front screen can be supplemented with the following important information – the front of the nozzle has an open design, allowing large debris (corn flakes, breakfast cereals, legumes, cereals) to freely enter the rotating area of ​​​​the rotating shaft, without creating the “effect of a snow bucket”, and the roller, completely covered with soft pile, gently and thoroughly collects fine dust. The rear stabilizing roller (in the text – a roller of small diameter with a pile) acts as a support for the nozzle when the large front roller “runs over” large debris.

Fluffy brush rollers must be washed under water. We washed and dried, as a result, the pile on the rollers stuck together and formed hard tangles. We thought that the pile was cemented by the remnants of dust. Well, washed with a mild detergent, dried – all the same tangles.

Dyson comment: The Fluffy nozzle should be “rinsed” under cold running water strictly without the use of any detergent. You can dry the nozzle rollers exclusively in a natural way, without hair dryers, batteries, towels and direct sunlight. In this case, the pile of the nozzle will return to its previous state, if you pass your hand along the direction of the pile. In your case, the nozzle is unfortunately damaged due to the use of detergents and thorough washing.

They, tangles, of course, break a little during work, but still you can’t get the original gentle pile. Never. The main, and from our point of view, the only advantage of the Fluffy brush, in comparison with the main brush with direct drive, is the casing that is open in front, which, as we indicated, allows you to get close to the baseboard and walls.

What we liked the most was the mini electric brush familiar from the previous model, which better matches the size and tasks of this compact vacuum cleaner. This brush sticks quite strongly to the surface, so you do not have to press it additionally. The main disadvantages of a mini-electric brush are a shaft of small diameter, on which threads and hair are tightly wound, as well as the fact that it is impossible to crawl under the sofa with it – there is no hinge in the joint with the pipe.

Recall that emptying the dust container is very convenient and contact with dust in most cases can be minimized, since you can immerse the vacuum cleaner in a garbage bag / bucket, unfasten the lid and lightly knock – almost everything will fall out of the main dust container and from the cyclones of the thin cleaning.

Something can catch on the mesh on the walls of the inner glass, and if it does not shake off when tapped, then you will have to remove the transparent container and clean the mesh with a brush (you can use the combination brush from the kit).

The efficiency of fine cyclones is very high, because after several cleaning cycles the pre-motor filter remained pristine in appearance and we have never washed it (like the DC62, which has been in operation for several months). In high power mode, especially if you use the vacuum cleaner continuously until the batteries are completely discharged, the case gets very hot, so that the hand is already unpleasant. The image from the infrared camera allows you to evaluate the temperature distribution (after continuous operation at high power in real use).

The battery compartment heats up the most (up to 50 °C in places), the engine compartment heats up to 40 °C under these conditions, but the handle also heats up noticeably. In the normal power mode, the heating is less, the hand, however, still sweats a little and the slippery smooth plastic of the handle becomes unpleasant to the touch, more effort is spent on holding the vacuum cleaner in your hand and directing the nozzles to the right places. The grip, however, is very reliable, so the vacuum cleaner has no chance of slipping out of your hand.

Once again, the exceptionally comfortable arm and the compactness and lightness of the Dyson handhelds redefine the typical use case. The constant availability and readiness of this device to work allow you to transfer cleaning from a long (and tedious) process with a preparatory stage (an ordinary “wired” vacuum cleaner needs to be obtained, connected, dragged to the right place) into the category of tasks that can be done in any free minute and at any time. measure of actual need. It seemed that something was dirty somewhere – he took the vacuum cleaner and cleaned it, something was waking up – he took off the vacuum cleaner with one hand and put it away. Fast and hassle free.

Here are the remaining test results. It took 2 hours 53 minutes to fully charge, while the maximum consumption reached 23 W . A charged, but connected to the mains vacuum cleaner consumes 0.2 W , however, this is actually the consumption of the adapter itself. Note that with the adapter connected and working, the vacuum cleaner does not turn on.

At the last point, the damper is closed and the suction power is zero, however, at the same time, the vacuum cleaner goes into emergency mode – it turns on and off several times, then turns off and blinks with the mode switch button when the indicator on the battery is on. As a result, we did not determine the rarefaction at zero air flow. The tightness of the air system of the vacuum cleaner is very high, so there is no drop in suction power with increasing vacuum. It is also possible that increased vacuum presses some seals, which further increases tightness. In the maximum power mode in real use, the suction power may well reach the maximum value, since the air flow is more than 50% of the initial one. This power is enough, even without the use of an active brush. In the normal power mode, the working suction power is significantly less, here the rotating brush does not exactly fit, especially in the case of wide nozzles. Additionally, we measured the suction power without a post-motor filter. Of course, it increased a little, but not much. This means that this filter, despite its (declared) efficiency, does not have very much resistance to air flow (at least until new and never washed).

Conclusions

The successful model of a light, compact and powerful vacuum cleaner has received a significant improvement in the form of an additional post-motor filter that traps the smallest particles, including allergens. There were also two new wide nozzles with a direct drive of the brushes, which made it possible to reduce the width of the ends. The package still includes a very convenient wall bracket, which not only allows you to store and charge the vacuum cleaner, but, no less important, makes the Dyson V6 as accessible as possible for quick and emergency cleaning.

For example, CC2L and CC2 Plus are adapted for 2015-2019 Hyndai Creta and KIA Rio (2011-2019 onwards). These radios can also be purchased for Nissan X-Trail and Qashqai produced between 2013-2017.

As Crutchfield’s headphone guy, I’m not afraid to say it: I actually prefer the focused, intimate listening experience of a super high-end headphone setup over stereo speakers. That’s not the contrarian “hot take” it would’ve been years ago. In the last decade, headphone design has taken a major leap in sophistication.

A prime example — this collection. I’ve chosen some of my current favorite ultra-premium Audiophile headphones. These are indeed the crème de la crème, so it becomes hard to choose one over the other. I often find myself bouncing back and forth, declaring whichever headphone I tried last, “the best.”

So I’ve broken them up based on their different features, attributes, or how you might use them.

Audiophile headphones create a personal bubble of potent sound that often begs me to pause my work, recline, and let the music take over.

Fine materials and top-notch technology

I should point out here that we have picked our best wired headphones in another article. There, I capped the options to headphones under $1,000 (before tax) — that’s why you won’t find any of these headphones in that article.

And if you find the headphones on this list are outside of your budget, don’t fret. There are excellent audiophile headphones out there at lower prices, including the gems on our “Best wired” list. In fact, you’ll find many of the same brands on both lists.

That’s because a lot of the research and discovery, tuning techniques, or driver designs developed for this class of headphones can inform a brand’s entire line of headphones. The high-end headphone boom

Audiophile headphones (and their creators) have long had a fervent fanbase, best illustrated by the crowds packed around booths at headphone conventions like “CanJam Global.” But recently, a perfect storm of factors and innovations have catapulted this phenomenon even further.

First, the obvious. When people spent more time at home the last few years, they rediscovered tried-and-true home audio fundamentals like turntables and stereo speakers — along with a renewed interest in vintage gear. And we saw a major resurgence in old-fashioned wired headphones in general. And if you’re splurging on a nice audio system, even headphones in this price range give you more bang for your buck than a super-high-end speaker system.

Headphone amps: Premium ‘phones need proper power

Aside from one notable exception, these headphones aren’t the grab-and-go type, designed for use with your phone. Instead, their high-grade drivers perform best when properly powered. For a set of wired headphones like these, it’s worth investing in a dedicated headphone amp.

Largest soundstage — Sennheiser HD 800S

Sennheiser arguably started the high-end headphone boom over 10 years ago with the HD 800 lineage. I keep this latest version, the HD 800 S, in heavy rotation for its unmatched — and uncanny — soundstage that extends well outside the head.

Imaging is also on-point for accurate sound with a realistic sense of space and instrument separation. It’s why Sennheiser’s flagship remains a top pick for fans of jazz, orchestral, and rock music. But the HD 800 S also has a rep among professional gamers, who rely on the roomy sound and directional cues when they’re in competition.

Just be advised: at 300 ohms impedance, these headphones really crave a lot of power. But they also play well with others. So while iFi Audio’s flagship Pro iCAN Signature headphone amp lifted them to incredible heights, I also had excellent results with iFi’s more compact, yet robust ZEN CAN amp.

Most comfortable audiophile headphones — Meze Audio Elite

When I first unboxed the well-put-together Meze Elite open-back ‘phones, it felt like I was holding a fine sculpture. They also offer a pleasant, soft-touch fit and the hardest-hitting bass of any planar magnetic drivers I’ve heard.

Meze’s founder and lead designer Antonio Meze told me in a sit-down interview that the shape and geometry of the frame is based on their best-selling 99 Classics closed-back headphones — with the extra size and weight of the drivers considered. (The 99 Classics were voted Crutchfield’s “most comfortable overall” by our staff.)

But it required a lot of trial and error that ultimately led to the special headband suspension system, originally developed for their previous-generation Empyrean headphones.

A flexible, carbon-fiber headband acts as a spine for a leather strap that hugs the crown of your head. “That’s something that we added quite late,” said Antonio. “We knew we had this problem where it would hang on the head, but we couldn’t change the frame. So, we kept changing the headband design until we got the surface area just right on the top.”

They somehow tweaked it even further for these newer Elite headphones. This top-of-the-line model also delivers a slightly more refined sound, particularly in the highs. But the Empyreans offer a similar deluxe experience, and get you close in terms of comfort and performance.

Best Closed-back audiophile headphones — Denon AH-D9200

While most of the headphones on this list are open-back, the Denon AH-D9200 bamboo headphones are unmistakeably closed-back. Now there are other great closed-back headphones of this ilk — the Meze LIRIC, Dan Clark Audio Stealth, and Sony MDR Z1R are three I absolutely adore. But each of those headphones aim for a more airy, spacious sound within the confined closed-back design.

Delivering that “open-back disguised as a closed-back” perception is an impressive feat to pull off. Still, I gave Denon extra points for actually leaning into the “closed-back-ness” of it all.

Best-looking audiophile headphones — Focal Clear Mg

I think every set of headphones on this list looks attractive or striking in its own way. But when I was guest on Crutchfield LIVE with all these headphones, the Focal Clear Mg headphones caught the most eyes. They sport the familiar design of Focal’s other high-end headphones, but here they overlay the lightweight aluminum frame a gorgeous chestnut and mixed-metal finish.

Beneath that Instagram-ready exterior (that somehow looks even better in person), you’ll find fast-attack drivers that deliver Focal’s signature near-field, yet breathable sound. In this case, their patented, piston-like “M-shaped” domes are made of lightweight, rigid magnesium. And while you still got the absolute best resolution that Focal offers from their flagship, beryllium-based Utopia headphones (recently updated in 2022), the Clear Mgs are closing the gap.

Best audiophile headphones for vocals — Audeze LCD-5

Meet the LCD-5 headphones — Audeze’s newest, lightest flagship model yet. That’s a huge deal for headphone aficionados. The SoCal company made their name on stellar full-size planar magnetic headphones — before shrinking their drivers to fit in more traditional-shaped gaming headsets and even in-ear monitors.

Over the years, they’ve engineered ways to increase efficiency and reduce size without sacrificing sonic performance. For the LCD5-s, the intimate vocal presentation really stand out to me. In fact, while these headphones offer textured depth and layering, it was the well-placed, center-of-your-face vocals that made listening to these headphones a special thrill.

Of course, this is Audeze’s top-of-the-line model — and that strong midrange presence comes at a price. If you’re looking for an alternative, Audeze’s excellent MM-500 studio headphones get you about 95% of the way there. They were designed in collaboration with legendary mixing engineer Manny Marroquin, who’s mixes are known for their potent vocals.

I got a chance to speak to the 11-time Grammy winner on Crutchfield: The Podcast, where he told me he used the MM-500 headphones to mix the latest albums from Kendrick Lamar, Lizzo, Paramore, the 1975, and more.

But the LCD-5s have a thinner diaphragm made of higher-grade film. And that results in extra nuance and bite for vocals. When singers hit that certain note or reached an emotional point, these headphones served it up vividly.

It sparked many a goosebump moment.

Best closed-system audiophile headphones — Warwick Acoustics Bravura

Unlike the other headphones on this list, the all-in-one Warwick Acoustics Bravura system features an amp/DAC and set of headphones both intended for each other — and neither will work with gear from other brands. The Bravura electrostatic headphones are fed clean and consistent power by the special Sonoma M1 amplifier/energizer.

This Bravura system offers one of the best examples of the profound transparency electrostatics are known for. Best wireless audiophile headphones — Mark Levinson No. 5909

I didn’t just pick the Mark Levinson No. 5909 noise-canceling headphones based on how they sound wirelessly over Bluetooth (fantastic, by the way). I picked them because of what I heard when I made a wired connection to my reference tube amp. Sure, most Bluetooth headphones offer wired listening options. But few perform nearly as well in “passive” mode, without the built-in amplification or sound processing and sweetening.

The No. 5909’s quick-moving dynamic drivers are made of high-grade metals, including beryllium. In the Focal section, I touched on the detail retrieval and resolution offered by this special metal. Beryllium also has strong damping characteristics, which cuts down on reverberation and sound colorization in the mids and highs.

These headphones have also been built to the exacting standards of the “Harman Curve.” This special sound profile has been honed over the years by exhaustive user testing by Harman’s team of audio experts, led by Dr. Sean Olive. Best audiophile in-ear-monitor headphones — Sony IER-Z1R

One thing all of the headphones on this list have in common? Each offers a memorable unboxing experience. But you could genuinely mistake the Sony IER-Z1R in-ear monitors’ (IEMs) packaging for a box made for fine jewelry. The shining, mirrorballed silver earbuds come perched in a softly padded pedestal — above three drawers packed with accessories.

That includes the largest selection of ear tips I’ve ever seen. And for both comfort and sound, in-ear headphones are only as good as their fit. Sony included 13 different pairs — including six sizes made of a soft, spongy material that helps created a secure, noise-isolating seal.

The Sony IER-Z1R IEMs are neatly packed with two cables and 13 sets of ear tips.

And when I had the IER-Z1Rs in place, they delivered the most spacious, wide-open sound I’ve heard from a set of IEMs. The soundstage extended far from my head, and I even got a sense of height.

Sony uses a combination of three drivers inside each earpiece, all dedicated to a specific range of frequencies. A dynamic driver delivers the bass and lower mids, a balanced armature driver covers the highs and upper mids. And Sony’s “super-tweeter” ultra-high-frequency driver ensure that strings and cymbals shimmer with depth and realism.

The Hifiman He400se and 400i 2020 are both musical and very easy headphones to listen to. If you like body, fulness, and warmth with more extension, go for the I version. If you prefer a more clean and neutral sound with more energy and excellent clarity, then the HE400se will rock your boat.

You don’t have to know a lot about personal audio and technology to love these headphones. And for the very accessible price the Hifiman HE400se is going for, they’re the ideal recommendation to a whole lot of people. As a result, I am adding the HE-400se to our list of best headphones to buy.  The HE400i 2020 was already on the list, and as the se-version plays at the same level but sounds differently, it also deserves its spot there as an excellent entry-level headphone.

Beyerdynamic DT770

This Beyerdynamic was loved right from the beginning here on Headfonia. Mike and I did a double review and we ended up recommending a lot of these DT770’s to our readers. The headphone turned out to be so successful that Beyerdynamic continued making them under the 32Ohm label and it’s still selling strong. For little money, you get an excellent closed headphone (I recommend the velour pads) with a more V-Shaped sound signature. You get excellent detail and lovely bass, and when hooking it up to a tube amp, the DT700 transforms into a very addictive headphone. While no amplifiers are needed to drive this headphone, you will notice how remarkably better it sounds when amped. If you’re in need of something good and closed, this should be on your list.

The Beyerdynamic DT 900 Pro X is a work of art, and a true bargain: for €249 you’ll be hard-pressed to find anything better, or as accurate. Like the DT 700 Pro X, it ticks all the right boxes and redefines my vision of sub €300 headphones. The only flaw I can find with it is its main quality: open-back design. But otherwise, it’s superb!

Meze 99 Classics

When Nathan starts calling headphones brilliant you can pretty sure they’re extremely good sounding. I don’t think I’ve ever seen him like a headphone this much. The Meze 99 Classics ticks off most, if not all the boxes. It’s not cheap and it’s not expensive. Its accessories, cables, and general construction are nice, if not luxurious. With the right pads, it is a damn hard headphone not to hype. And that goes for sound: punchy, but even-handed, this headphone’s neutral, contrasty signature is there for the long haul. The 99 Classics look even better in real but if you don’t like them you can now buy the Meze 99 NEO in a black stealth edition.

Sivga SV023 [Added 03/07/2022]

The SV023 has a very well-balanced, open and spacious sound, which made me say; “this is more like it”. This is a very nice, high-performing “audiophile” headphone with a realistic and revealing signature, with great technicalities.

I like open-back dynamic headphones and it’s no secret, but that doesn’t mean that I liked the Sivga SV023 just because of my preferences. It proves that Sivga is improving and they’re determined to make very good cans for the audiophile crowd. As much as the successful tuning, the design, comfort and build quality are also top-notch.

Hence, I recommend the new Sivga SV023 for people looking for nice open-back headphones without breaking the bank.

Sennheiser HD600/650

These are both great all-rounder headphones with reference qualities. They have been around for decades already but they’re still highly popular because of their sublime sound. The HD600 has a leaner sound with forward mids, good treble and midrange detail, good bass impact. The pace is moderately fast. If you like a more laid-back sound with fuller lows while retaining the overall detail level, more emotion, and listen to slower-paced songs, go for the HD650. An amplifier is recommended for both headphones and they will sound their very best in combination with a tube amplifier like the Bottlehead Crack or a solid-state amp like the Beyerdynamic A20 which has a warmer and smoother character. These headphones are here to stay and we’ve been calling them “classics” for a while already. You owe it to yourself to have once owned either of these masterpieces from Sennheiser.

Hifiman Edition XS [Added 29/05/2022]

To be honest with you, I think Hifiman Edition XS might be the best headphone in the $400-500 mark. It has a truthful and neutral presentation with great decay and transparency. It’s not too hard to drive, and it certainly has what it takes in terms of being a reference headphone for the price.

Sure, there’s always a superior headphone out there and there always will be, but if you’re not willing to spend huge amounts of cash for an open back headphone for your desktop, it would be difficult for you to find a better option than the Edition XS.

Sennheiser HD 660S2 [Added 09/05/2023]

In very short we can say the HD 660S2 is a great headphone with an excellent price/quality ratio.

Where the Sennheiser HD 660S was good, it to me never was the headphone that could make me completely forget about the HD 600 and HD 650. That’s exactly what’s different with this new S2 update. This time I do feel that people in 10 years’ time will still be talking about the HD 660S2, just like they did with the HD 650 and HD 600. The original HD 660S did not get our recommended buy award, but I feel the sound quality has improved in every possible way here. As such it is getting our Recommended Buy Award this time, and the HD 660S2 now is featured on our Best Headphone list.

Meze Audio 109 Pro is one of the best headphones under-1000$ mark, and it might even be the best out there. I’ve heard that they in fact share an opinion among the team, about this being the best headphone they’ve ever made. I disagree, but they might be right when you consider the price bracket.

Everything about the new Meze headphone screams quality. From the design, materials and sound quality, it’s very hard to find a weakness in the overall performance of this open-back dynamic. I only can bring up the very slight aggressiveness in the lower treble, but that’s it.

I think it has a very good value and it’s in my opinion one of the best headphones you can get at this time.

Dan Clark Audio Aeon 2 Noire [Added 16/02/2021]

Options are a beautiful thing, and Dan Clark Audio has given us a difficult one by adding another visual and sonic take on the runaway success that is their Aeon series. The Noire builds on their already winning design formula by providing a subtler, more ‘grown-up’ aesthetic choice in the new all-black colourway, and the perforated pad choice gives users looking for a more versatile, genre-friendly tuning a welcome choice when it comes to a sound-signature that’s more reminiscent of a classic ‘audiophile’ tuning, leaning away from the distinctly neutral voicing of the original Aeon Flow. All in all, the Aeon 2 Noire is simply a terrific pair of closed-back headphones – they’re technically adept and don’t seem restrained by any of the traditional hang-ups of closed-back designs, seemingly defying physics with their spacious, airy, and exciting sound. Those of you looking for a single set of cans to do just about ‘everything’ need look no further – just add plenty of power, and you’re in for a treat.

Hifiman Ananda BT

To be honest with you, I was never a fan of Bluetooth earphones/headphones. This Hifiman Ananda BT, however, changed my perception of wireless sound. This easily is the best wireless headphone I’ve ever listened to and it’s not even close. Together with the sound, the general user experience is very pleasing and simple.

Sennheiser HD800

The flagship from Sennheiser is a very picky headphone. It is often recommended with amplifiers priced above $1,000 and with similarly priced sources. The recording quality is also very essential. Don’t expect to be playing Top40, Pop, Jpop music with these cans and get satisfaction. But if you already have a good high-end source and amplifier and high-resolution source files, then the HD800 will deliver music at an unsurpassed refinement level. The voicing is sublime for Classical, Jazz, and Vocals. It won’t work with Rock and RnB and other mainstream music. Most impressive about this gorgeous-looking headphone are its sound stage width and depth, its spaciousness, accuracy & speed, and finally the level of detail. While the HD800 for a lot of people is an end-game headphone, others can stand how analytical it sounds. With a great amplifier however, this headphone will produce the sound of a level you didn’t know was possible. I’ll take the original HD800 over the bass heavier HD800S on any day.

Hifiman HE1000 Stealth [Added 20/06/2020]

At the actual price the Hifiman HE1000 Stealth is selling for, it is a no-brainer. Great comfort and excellent sound quality, what more do you want?

The only downside I can see here is that you need a good amplifier and/or source to really make the HE1000 Stealth sound its very best. As such I wouldn’t recommend it as a starting point, unless you have the funds to invest in the rest of your chain.

For me personally, the new Stealth is my favorite of the HE1000 series, which now counts 4 models. The SE would be my second choice, followed by the V1 and then the V2.

The Hifiman HE1000 Stealth gets our Recommended Buy Award and it now is featured on our Best Headphone list where it is in very good company.

Hifiman Arya Stealth [Added 10/05/2022]

How good is the Arya Stealth?! Waw! It isn’t cheap or available to everyone but the performance for the price is highly remarkable.

The Arya Stealth’s tuning is very good. It’s pleasing, yet technically strong as well as musical and exciting. The Arya Stealth always has good body, presence, impact and depth. It’s very easy to understand why this headphone is getting so many recommendations. It’s an absolute award winner and in this price category, the Arya Stealth is hard to beat.

With a good desktop amp, the Arya stealth scales up nicely, but even without special amplification, it sounds remarkable even if there still is room for improvement (compared to the HE-1000SE and Susvara). The Hifiman Arya Stealth is an end game headphone for many, I am sure. It’s a definite recommendation from my end. To our Recommended Buy list it goes, a well-deserved award!

Audeze LCD-XC

In the +$1K class, the Audeze LCD-XC still is my favorite headphone. Yes, it’s rather heavy but the quality in sound simply is impressive. Though obviously not as open or spacious sounding as the open-back models, the XC has its own way of projecting a more three-dimensional sound stage image within its closed-back boundaries. Whereas the LCDs have always been good with sound stage image, the XC takes it to a whole new level, giving you a much sharper image and focus of the sound stage and the instrument placements. Three-dimensional depth is also on a whole new level. This paragraph alone gives enough reason to why the XC should always be considered when you’re planning on getting a high-end closed headphone. The LCD-XC is fairly easy to drive but a really good amplifier will make it scale up nicely. Amplifier recommended

Hifiman HE6SE

With the right (powerful) solid-state or tube headphone amplifier, the Hifiman HE6SE absolutely impresses. It’s a neutral reference at its very best and if you like technicalities, you’ll be in heaven for sure. And it gets even better, if you already own a good speaker amp, you can just hook it up to the speaker taps and enjoy it like that. The fact is though that you need to properly amp your HE6SE and even more, you have to make sure the synergy between the amp and headphone sits right. But do that and it will wow you. The original HE6 is an icon and the new HE6SE extends that certificate for another 10 years. If a linear, balanced and neutral tuning with a musical presentation is your thing, then you owe it to yourself to listen to the HE6SE, it will surprise you in a good way for sure. The HE6SE has left me with a big smile on my face every single time I listened to it. It’s precise, a technical marvel and it does all that with a musical and engaging touch. How can you not love it?

HEDD Audio HEDDphone [Added 14/04/2020]

HEDD has managed to create a high-end headphone that brings freshness to the personal audio world. As a first headphone, this can seriously count, though they of course have a lot of experience already producing speakers. Forget about planar and dynamic drivers and their typical sound signature. The full range AMT drivers in the HEDDphone prove that there’s room for diversification, and they bring you a really special, typical, high-end sound. While HEDD has managed to nail the “sound”, it’s hard to forget about the size and weight. Unfortunately, this might be a deal-breaker for many, but for those who put sound first, the HEDD Audio HEDDphone is an easy recommendation.

The RAD-O is a high-end headphone for the music-lover and so far we love every bit of it. I do recommend to “use” it with a good amplifier as you’ll be rewarded by getting it right. It really impresses in that case, delivering a great mix of technicalities and musicality. Meze Audio ELITE [Added 01/09/2021]

When the original Empyrean was released back in 2018, we were thrilled just like many headphone enthusiasts out there. The Empyrean even won our 2018 Best Headphone award in the Price no object category. Now 3 years later Meze is back with a new flagship headphone. Meze together with Rinaro built new drivers from the ground up, and that resulted in a more balanced, faster, more precise and cleaner sounding headphone. The clarity of the ELITE is really nice and it does complex and fast passages in a better way. The Empyrean is still good, but the ELITE is a technically stronger headphone. At the same time you can rest assured that there still is plenty of body, bass and fun in general. While it actually is a new headphone, I can see why it would be a higher end or dare I say improved Empyrean for many out there.

As said, I’m lucky to have both headphones here with me and I’ve been switching between both a lot. If I have to decide now which one suits my tastes best, it would be the ELITE. But that of course could be different for you. Does this new ELITE mean that you have to upgrade from your Empyrean right away? No, it does not. If you like the way the Empyrean presents your favorite tunes, then stick to it. If you feel your Empyrean could be even better in a technical way as described in this review, then yes, try it!

The ELITE, also for us, still is very new. I will be spending a lot more time with the ELITE over the next few weeks and months. If I feel the need to tell more about it or if I feel my opinion on something has changed, I will for sure add that to this article or do a follow-up article on the ELITE. For now this is it. On top of that, the EXPANSE also produces sublime, addictive sound. The EXPANSE is not only very musical but it’s energetic and technically strong at the same time. With that combination, the EXPANSE is easy to like and listen to. For me it is a very easy decision to grant the DCA EXPANSE our Recommended Buy Award, and it is now featured on our Best Headphone list. A strong contender for the end of year award, you say? Abyss Diana TC [Added 02/08/2022]

The Diana TC is an excellent high-end headphone. If you like excellent PRaT, precision, a high resolution and an airy, spacious presentation, then the TC will be the perfect headphone for you. The TC is also small in size, which makes it one of the most portable high-end headphones on the market and for on the go. The downside here is that it needs good amplification, and not just power.

After spending multiple months with the Diana TC it is very easy for me to grant it our Recommended Buy Award. It is replacing the Diana Phi from our Best Buy Headphone list, where it is in good company.

The LCD-5 is the type of headphone that grows on you and once it has gotten to you, it’s impossible not to like its precision, clarity, transparency and energy.

It for sure is one of Audeze’s most neutral and precisely tuned headphones, but they have managed to do it in the most exciting and musical way. What I also like about the new Audeze LCD-5, is that it isn’t just for studios and professionals, but it is musically strong enough and very engaging to please the most discerning audiophile at home. The Audeze LCD-5 is one of the more expensive flagship planar headphones on the market, but you for that money get a great looking, well-built and impressive sounding headphone in return. I’m a fan!

What I love about the SHANGRI-LA jr is that it does it all effortlessly and the 6SN7 tubes provide just enough smoothness and warmth in this combo to make the whole experience musical and engaging.

The headset is perfect for those who work in studios, mixing tracks and films. The main characteristics of Audio-Technica ATH-AD500X: frequency range is 3000 Hz, maximum sound power is 500 mW, headphone jack is about 3.5 mm, cable length is 3 m.

Grado SR80e

Grado SR80e – for those who love headphones with good bass, and here they are simply amazing. They fall under the audiophile category. There are no various electronic additions. Only amazing sound that will immerse you in unforgettable universes of melodies. They do an excellent job with almost all musical genres: from epic electronics to music that plays in the background. However, despite such advantages, this type of headphone has small disadvantages (which may not matter to you). For example, the cups are not made of the softest and most comfortable material, the design is not convenient for travel, and the copy lacks noise reduction.

Huawei FreeBuds Pro

Huawei FreeBuds Pro are wireless headphones for those who prefer to enjoy good music. This model is not only with good sound, but also with a distinctive noise reduction. Soon, a nude photo of Castro appeared in one of the Mexican magazines for men, Caballero, which shocked her mother, who took the word from her daughter that she would no longer agree to such proposals for any money. The student had to look for other ways to earn money.

Career take-off

The photo shoots for the then-popular comic books in Mexico, small books with photographs and short texts, were a good help. “I got 250 pesos for each,” Veronica said. – The money was very necessary, and it gave at least some kind of income. And then I got on a TV program – first as a dancer, then I began to announce the participants in it. And at night, as a sister, we performed in a nightclub. And so she lived, driving around on a moped: gymnasium-television-photo shoot-Andres Soler theater school-night club.

Then fate took the girl to shoot in commercials, to participate in TV theater performances and, finally, in the TV show “Ha-ha”, where the famous comedian Manuel “El Loco” Valdez was the host (loko – translated from Spanish means “crazy , insane”).

Noticing a spectacular girl, he took part in her career. Very soon, the aspiring actress began to broadcast. It was a major breakthrough. And great success came to Castro after her victory at 1970 in the competition “Person of the Year”.

From that moment on, there was no end to job offers. Increasingly, Veronica began to appear on television, and given the fact that she sang beautifully, she was sent to host the most popular music programs. At the same time, without stopping her studies, the actress began to play in the theater and give concerts, which were invariably sold out.

“The Rich Also Cry” and “Wild Rose”

Veronica traveled all over the world with the film, Marianne conquered the world in her performance. And native Mexico literally lifted the actress to heaven. However, the role of Manuel “El Loco” Valdes in the life of Veronica touched not only her career. In 1974, already being very successful, the 22-year-old actress gave birth to his first child, Christian. During pregnancy, between all the cases, Castro managed to enter the National University of Mexico at the Faculty of International Relations and subsequently successfully graduated from it, defending a diploma on the topic “Organization of International Relations on Television”.

A dark story with fathers of sons

Only the closest people knew who the father of the actress’s first child was for a long time. And only when Christian Castro himself became a famous Latin American singer and composer, did he tell the public the name of his dad.

It is known that recently Veronica took an active part in organizing the hospitalization of Christian’s father, who suffers from oncology, took on most of the costs – this is how the grandson of the comedian Ivan Valdez said. And he admitted: “She constantly kept in touch with him, but she could not visit. Not because of reluctance, but because the doctors did not even recommend this to the closest relatives. To exclude the possibility of infection, since a tube was inserted into the grandfather’s lungs. The second son of the actress, Michel, born 10 years after her brother, was also born out of wedlock. And again, everyone was gossiping and speculating, who is dad? Since Senora Castro lived with her common-law husband Enrique Niembro, also an actor, for seven years, they named him his father. Although Veronica herself did not give any confirmation of this. And she broke up with her lover after she found out about his many betrayals.

Never married

Despite her religiosity and the strictness of Catholic customs in Mexico with regard to marriage, the actress never got married – for reasons of principle. Once she explained her position: “I am against starting a family for “economic reasons”. For me, marriage is a union of two people who love each other, respect, appreciate and live by common interests. It didn’t work out that way for me. Yes, I am a single mother, and even proud of it. Veronica never led a Puritan lifestyle. She had a stormy two-year romance with actor Omar Fierro, and later a short-term affair with folk singer Adolfo Angel, who had to give way to the handsome Argentine artist Jorge Martinez. After their parting with Veronica, all of Mexico grieved.

Later, emotional Mexicans once again rejoiced for their national heroine, because they learned that on the set of the series “Hell in a Small Town” she had a close relationship with partner Juan Soler. And now the actress, as people around her say, is not alone. However, she is still unmarried.

Good luck in business

Veronica has no energy. She manages everything and everywhere. As before, she continues to work in serials and films (in one, directed by her son, she even starred naked, breaking her word given to her mother for the first time 40 years ago), sings and records new albums, and hosts various shows on television.

Castro also runs his own business – he owns a network of beauty salons and stores, and has created a personal line of cosmetics. And she enjoys using these products, complementing the effect with the services of the Argentinean plastic surgeon Jose Khuri, whom she calls a magician. Carefully monitors the figure – to maintain it in perfect condition, strictly keeps a diet and actively goes in for sports. In the arsenal of the actress skiing, tennis, aerobics and running. The secret of success

Veronika rejects the rumors about illness that appear from time to time, calling them stupid gossip of envious people. And she continues to be strong, purposeful and successful. Looking back at the past years, Castro, in one of the TV shows, spoke openly about how she managed to reach the top.

“For many years I have been waiting for some opportunity to break through. I was in a huge queue, consisting of spares, waiting for work on television. They called me the joker, because when they asked in that long corridor of the TV channel: “Who sings?” “I!” I jumped up. “Who’s dancing?” “I! ..” I took lessons in everything, so that when the opportunity presented itself, I would be ready for anything. Singing, dancing, modeling, acting, a certificate of an animator, an announcer, a driver … I had everything so that in any case, when they ask: “Who has such and such a certificate?”, I would get it first … ”- shared a secret success Veronica.
