8 best cricket information games and apps for android 9 users0001
The IPL season has officially started and people are fighting for their teams and players. This is a fierce battle that often breaks out near the water cooler and in the cafeteria. In the spirit of cricket, one of the most amazing and challenging games in the world, I have compiled a list of the best cricket apps for android users.
Some of these applications are games that you can play alone or with friends. Others are information apps to help you follow the IPL and other cricket tournaments around the world. There are also several live apps that allow you to create your dream team, which you can use to score points and win prizes in the real world. So, let’s get to work.
Best Cricket Games for Android Users
1. Cricbuzz (information)
Cricbuzz is an informative cricket app for the Android platform. You can select and follow your favorite teams and players and follow the results in real time. The entire IPL schedule is available immediately. The scoreboard is always a pleasure to read.
What really makes Cricbuzz special to me is the comments that the app offers. It’s really so refreshing and inviting that you can easily imagine what’s going on in this area. Never forget to watch a match again with in-app reminders of important or favorite matches. Cricbuzz also offers a lot of original content in the form of articles, editorials and videos to enhance your cricket experience.
Cricbuzz is free to use with ads, but can be purchased in-app for $1.99 for qualifying audio services.
Download Cricbuzz
2. Cricket World Cup 2 (game)
What could be better than following the world of cricket? What is playing during the match? The graphics in the game are really great and you can play cricket in all its forms in 32 popular stadiums around the world. There is a separate option to play famous cricket shots like Dil-scoop and Helicopter shot. In fact, there are 140 ways to hit the ball and 14 layouts to choose from.
Make a roll while you are engulfed by it, and if you make a mistake, you may get hurt. There is a lot of attention to detail here, such as the player’s performance, which improves with consistent hits/grabs. You can also invite or challenge your friends in multiplayer mode. A similar level of detail can be found in Tactics and Send Modes. Finally, you can participate in auctions.
World Cricket Championship 2 is an ad-supported game with an in-app purchase of 8. 9$9 to remove ads, buy coins, and unlock additional stadiums, locations, and tournaments.
Download Cricket World Cup 2
3. WCC Rivals (Game)
Please note that WCC Rivals is still in beta at the time of this writing, but you can download Cricket for Android phones from the Play Store. So why are we excited about this app? WCC Rivals is a multiplayer cricket game. The goal is simple. You will join the room and either hit or fight to try and win the match in the prize tournament.
There are several tournament rooms to choose from, and each room offers a different set of prizes. These matches are played in a one-on-one environment, however you have the option to create a squad. Bots are not allowed! Upgrade or acquire new skills, prove yourself worthy and climb up the leaderboard. These are the goals of the game.
There are in-app purchases that remove ads, unlock modes and rooms and allow you to buy coins.
Download WCC Rivals
4.
Super Cricket 2 (game)
If you don’t care about the details of a player’s face and profile, but just want a fast-paced and fun cricket game, then Super Cricket 2 is what you need. There are several sophisticated modes and shots to choose from. This application is for those who like to throw the ball because there is no way to shoot. I told you, quick and easy.
Missing advanced features such as throw, third judgment and catch. This is a quick fix for your needs, more specifically your batting needs. There are no in-app purchases, which is no surprise since there isn’t much to unlock. The Cricket app for Android is completely free to download and play.
Download Super Cricket 2
5. Dream11 (game)
With the rise of fantasy football, it was only a matter of time before this concept emerged. The goal is simple. If you think your cricket knowledge is second to none, now is the time to show off and win awards. Build your dream team with the top 11 IPL players and start earning rewards.
You get points for every run, wicket and checkpoint. When you add these points, you can earn real cash rewards which you can then withdraw to your account. Here you can win real money and many fans claim that they are doing just fine. There is support for other sports such as NBA, Kabaddi, football and hockey. It’s also a good way to see what’s going on in the real world of cricket, as your score and your position on the leaderboard are based on your team’s real-life results.
The app is available in the App Store, but for Android users you will have to download it directly from the official website. This is because the Play Store takes 30% of all revenue, which can be quite high for such an app.
Download Dream11
6. ESPNCricInfo (information)
ESPN has made a name for itself in the sports industry with quality news coverage, dozens of live scores and top-notch editorial content. ESPNCricInfo covers every format of cricket you can think of, from Trophies and Ranji Keeper to IPL and the World Cup. You get real-time results, comments and expert opinions. There are enough options to customize the app while following your favorite teams and players.
ESPNCricInfo will cover all your needs, but to be honest it lags behind the Cricbuzz we mentioned above. This app offers more ways to customize your experience, but in terms of the quality of the content it creates, whether it’s text or video, ESPN does a better job in my opinion. The cricket information app for android users is free to use but with ads.
Download ESPNCricInfo
7. Sachin Saga Cricket Champions (Game)
This cricket app for android was created by and for cricket master cricket master Sachin Tendulkar. In this game you will play as Sachin. In my opinion, he is a real hero. The game has 3D graphics that look realistic. All popular cricket formats are present such as ODI, Test and others. You can also create your own team.
I just downloaded the app for Sachin and wanted to relive his matches and his special moments. This game is perfect for that. You can play as him in career mode after a trip looking for traces of him. Stadiums, match conditions and player moments are all pure reality and true tradition.
Download Sachin Saga of Cricket Champions
8. Real Cricket (Game)
Real Cricket has the best graphics in the list of cricket apps for android smartphones, however, please note that most of these features are blocked behind a firewall. If you are looking for a free cricket app or something cheaper then go ahead. Having said that, Real Cricket offers a complete roster like different cricket formats like ODI, Tests, T20 and more.
The animation will captivate you and the gameplay is smooth. So much attention has been paid to the playing styles of the various batsmen and shooters that you will immediately notice them. You can even communicate with the judges if you think something is wrong with the decision. You can participate in auctions to buy players before the tournament starts.
Best iPhone printers in 2023 for those who are always on the move
Often users who have iPhones wonder which device is right for them to print photos. There are many brands and numerous models available in the market, but all of them are not compatible with their smartphones.
The best portable photo printers for iPhones are extremely convenient and versatile to use. These days, people are constantly on the move. We check our schedules at the touch of a finger, we carry all our mail in our pockets, and of course, we’re on the phone all the time. No wonder more and more devices that were once solely attributes of the office are becoming mobile these days. So, a compact photo printer is streamlined and efficient, you can take it with you wherever you go, getting the ability to print important documents or pictures immediately when you need them, no matter where you are. Of course, a portable printer for iPhone pictures is the most convenient because it can print anywhere, whether in a hotel or on a plane. For most PC devices, this convenience is invaluable because it gives them the opportunity to make the most of their time. In addition to being highly functional and efficient, the portable iPhone photo printer weighs less than five pounds and is easy to carry in a bag or briefcase. Many models don’t even need mains power; they work through a car adapter, or on batteries. In addition, most portable phone printers can also work in a home office. Plus, they have high speed and pics quality as good as desktop printers.
So that users can quickly find the right device, I have prepared this article. Here are the best photo printers for iPhone.

2. Epson Expression Premium XP-830
A universal device that is useful for every iPhone owner.
Specification
It can copy, fax, scan, and connect to online services. This picture printer for iPhone provides a noticeable quality of images, but it can’t do high-quality document printing. Nevertheless, it produces excellent photos with great detail and color quality. The device is equipped with five cartridges in four different colors, including cyan, yellow, magenta, and black. It also has a fifth pigment in the black cartridge, which provides better photo printing than standard black ink.
The Epson Expression Premium XP-830 has a paper tray capacity: a 100-page tray and a 20-sheet tray. Epson rates the Expression Premium XP-830 at 14ppm in black and 11ppm in color. According to TrustedReviewsTest’s 13.0ppm measurements, the 20-page text test is very close to spec, although it gave a slower speed of 9.1ppm in the 5-page test and 5. 4ppm in black text and color graphic documents. Duplex black printing yielded a healthy 5.8 sides per minute. Overall, the speeds are more than acceptable. Copy speeds were pretty good: 22 seconds for one color page from the flatbed, 54 seconds for five pages from the ADF, and a rather lengthy 2 minutes 59 seconds for 10-sided double-sided copying, mostly because it takes three passes to scan each page.
Photo printing times of this iPhone picture printer varied quite a bit, from 40 seconds for printing from an SD card or USB camera to 1 minute 16 seconds for printing from a PC and up to 2 minutes 5 seconds for wireless printing from a smartphone.
Reasons to buy
Epson uses its own pioneering Micro Piezo technology for printing;
Color graphics are vivid, and black text over color is clear;
Photo printing is nicely detailed;
Colors are natural in landscapes and vivid in artificial scenes.
Price
From $162.70.

How to choose the best iPhone camera printers?
Of course, your personal needs will help you choose the model that is right for you. For example, what kind of printing will you need to use? Will you need color printing or not? Will print quality be an important factor? And how much printing photo straight do you need?
Let’s look at any portable inkjet printer: among all types of best printers for iPhone are considered the most versatile. It can be used for text, photos, and graphics. Quality and accuracy depend mainly on dpi (dots per inch). The more dpi, the better the quality, in terms of sharpness of graphics or text, colors, and tones in photos. However, the resolution can vary depending on the type of ink cartridges used, as well as the font, shading, and color. Inkjet printers use different types of paper for different applications, and the type of paper used can affect print quality. For example, the photographic paper will be needed for printing photographs, while heavy paper will be used for printing business letters, plain paper, reports, or other documents.
What about a portable laser phone printer for iPhone? If you have to make frequent presentations, of several hundred pages, a portable laser printer users would be a better choice, especially for black-and-white printing.
Perhaps a portable thermal printer is what you need? In case all you print is receipts and bills, a thermal printer will meet your needs. Originally, this transfer printing method was used by fax machines, although they later switched to toner and cheaper regular paper. If you choose this best home printer for iPhone. it’s a good idea to find a reliable manufacturer and keep paper usage to a minimum. Typically, thermal printers available are less expensive than other printers because they do not use ink or toner. There are very lightweight and hybrid portable thermal printers that can work with laptops, PDAs, and smartphones that are only 0.7 inches thick, weigh less than ten ounces and can produce up to 4 x 6 ppm and 300 dpi. Nowadays, more and more manufacturers are able to provide mobile thermal printers with iOS and Android apps, which helps make mobile printing much easier.
Like many products available on the market these days, portable printers are just one example of an ever-growing trend for gadgets: convenience and versatility that promise to fundamentally change the traditional work environment.

Pick The Best iPhone Photo Printer For You
Are you looking for an easy way to print your iPhone photos? With so many different printers available, it can be difficult to choose the right iPhone photo printer for your needs. In this article, you’ll discover five great printers that take the hassle out of printing your iPhone photos. Whether you want a compact and portable photo printer for iPhone or a larger wireless printer for home use, we’ll help you choose the best iPhone photo printer for you.
1. HP Sprocket Portable Photo Printer
At just 3 x 4.5 inches, and weighing only 5.6 ounces, the HP Sprocket Portable Photo Printer fits in the palm of your hand and can be easily carried around in a handbag or pocket.
The printer doesn’t need any ink cartridges as it prints on special chemical paper (instant film). It prints bright, glossy 2 x 3 inch images onto sticky-backed HP ZINK photo paper (cost is around $10 for 20 sheets).
Connectivity is wireless via Bluetooth – you simply pair the devices (iPhone and printer) and you’re good to go.
The HP Sprocket app allows you to easily print photos directly from your iPhone’s photo library or via your social media profiles. It also offers the ability to customize your photos with frames, emojis, text and stickers before printing.
Print speed is about 40 seconds per print. The printer is supplied with a micro USB cable for recharging, and is available in either black or white.
The HP Sprocket Portable Photo Printer can be purchased for around $125 on Amazon.
2. Polaroid ZIP Mobile Printer
The Polaroid ZIP is another very compact and portable hand-held photo printer for iPhone. It weighs in at 6.6 ounces and measures only 2.9 x 4.7 inches.
The printer connects to your iPhone via Bluetooth so that printing can be done wirelessly. The free Polaroid ZIP app also allows you to edit your images before printing.
This device prints 2 x 3 inch photos on smudge-proof, peel-back/sticky paper. Again, this printer doesn’t require any ink cartridges, but you’ll need to purchase Polaroid ZINK photo paper at a cost of about $10 for 20 sheets.
At around a minute to print one photo, this isn’t the quickest iPhone photo printer. It takes 1.5 hours to recharge the printer’s battery, and it will then print 25 sheets before needing another charge.
You can purchase the Polaroid ZIP Mobile Printer for around $130 on Amazon.
3. Fujifilm Instax Share SP-2
The Fujifilm Instax Share SP-2 is another stylish, compact and lightweight iPhone photo printer, although it’s a bit larger than the HP Sprocket and Polaroid ZIP. It weighs 8.6 ounces and measures 7.1 x 5 inches.
This is one of the fastest portable iPhone photo printers, printing one photo in just over 10 seconds.
The printer is powered by a built-in rechargeable battery (which can be recharged using a micro-USB cable). It connects to your iPhone via Wi-Fi, and you simply use the free Instax Share app to print your photos wirelessly.
Just like the other two printers that we’ve looked at, it doesn’t require any ink cartridges. You just need to purchase Fujifilm Instax Instant Film which costs around $12.50 for a pack of 20 sheets.
Unfortunately the only photo size is 2.47 x 1.75 inches, which is a bit small and not a standard size. However, if you’re looking for Polaroid-like results, this printer is certainly a viable contender.
The Fujifilm Instax Share SP-2 printer is available in silver and gold color options. Prices on Amazon start at around $142.
This price does make it one of the more expensive printers available, and it’s also not that cheap to run at around $0.62 per photo.
4. Prynt Case iPhone Photo Printer
The Prynt Case iPhone Photo Printer is quite different from the other hand-held printers that we’ve looked at. With this device, you slide your iPhone into the case, allowing you to connect your phone directly to the printer via the lightning connector.
The Prynt app allows you to take photos (the case even has a physical shutter button) and then print them out straight away… a lot like a traditional Polaroid camera. Of course you can also print images from your iPhone’s photo library, as well as from your Facebook and Instagram profiles.
It prints attractive 2 x 3 inch borderless photos, but owners have commented that the results can be a bit dark and printing is slow.
Like the other hand-held iPhone photo printers, the Prynt case doesn’t require ink cartridges. You’ll just need to purchase Prynt ZINK photo paper which costs around $20 for a 40-pack.
A cool feature of the Prynt app is that photos you shoot will be saved with a short video of the few seconds around when you took the picture. When you print the image and then point your iPhone at the print, the Prynt app will unlock the hidden video clip, magically bringing your Prynt photo to life.
When you hand your Prynt photo to a friend, they can use the Prynt app to view the hidden video clip too. This feature is a bit of a gimmick, but it’s a fun way to share more than just an instant.
The Prynt Case can be purchased for around $150 on Amazon.
5. Canon Selphy Wireless Photo Printer
Finally, let’s take a look at a larger photo printer that isn’t designed to be hand-held. The Canon Selphy CP1200 Wireless Photo Printer weighs 1.9 pounds and measures 7.1 x 5.4 inches.
For a desktop photo printer this is considered to be fairly compact, so it won’t take up too much room in your home. It needs to be powered by the mains adaptor, unless you purchase an optional battery pack.
The Canon Selphy can print in a variety of paper sizes up to 4 x 6 inches. Due to its larger size, it also offers many more features including a host of control buttons, memory card slots, and even a flip-up screen for previewing your photo before printing.
The printer is AirPrint enabled, which means that you can print wirelessly and effortlessly from your iPhone or other iOS device. Print quality and color rendering seem to be strong points in reviews of this printer, and cost per print tends to be lower than the smaller hand-held printers.
The Canon Selphy CP1200 Wireless Photo Printer is available for around $96 on Amazon. Keep in mind that in addition to photo paper, this printer also uses ink cartridges. You can purchase a pack of Canon color ink plus 108 sheets of 4 x 6 inch paper for approximately $29.
The pack is designed so that there’s just enough ink for the paper included, however, some users report that the ink sometimes runs out before all of the paper has been used.
How To Choose The Best iPhone Photo Printer For You
When choosing which iPhone photo printer you want to buy, the main factor will probably be whether you need something portable so you can print on the go.
The best portable solutions listed in this article are the HP Sprocket, Polaroid ZIP, and Prynt Case as they’re all battery powered and small enough to fit in your pocket.
If you think you’ll do most of your printing in one location, then the slightly larger Fujifilm Instax or the much bigger Canon Selphy would be perfect.
Of course, there are also many full-size desktop photo printers that will print up to A4 size or even larger. If you’re planning to purchase a full-size printer, ensure it’s AirPrint enabled so that you can easily connect your iPhone to the printer for hassle-free wireless printing.
Running costs (paper and/or ink) are also an important consideration. The Canon Selphy requires that you replace both ink cartridges and paper when you run out.
All of the other printers in this article rely on chemical paper which does away with the need for inks. This kind of paper is more expensive than regular non-chemical paper, but it does allow for the printer to be smaller. Naturally it makes sense to buy your paper in the largest quantities you can afford so that you benefit from cheaper per-sheet costs.
Finally, print quality is important as you want the best looking prints possible. So before purchasing any iPhone photo printer, be sure to read a few reviews to get an idea of the kind of print quality that existing customers have experienced.
While none of the printers here could be said to give truly professional results, they’re all great performers that should provide years of fun and printed memories.

How to print from iPhone to printer: documents, photo
Home » Instructions » Applications
How to print from iPhone to printer without transferring file to computer? We use direct printing: there is a digital document or photo on the phone, but we will transfer it to paper.
Printing via AirPrint
If you have a printer that supports AirPrint technology, then the question of how you can print a file from an iPhone to a printer will be solved in a few seconds. Before trying to print a file, check two things:
The printer supports AirPrint. This information should be in the technical documentation. As a last resort, you can check the supported models on the Apple website.
The iOS device and the printer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
If both conditions are met, you can start printing the document. Please note: not all programs can work with AirPrint. So even if the printer supports the technology, the restriction may be on the side of the iOS application.
Open the program that will print the file.
Find the print function among the general options (usually invoked by the button with three dots). The send to printer option may also be part of the Share feature.
Select an AirPrint-enabled printer.
Specify the number of copies and other print settings.
Click Print.
Using the program selector, you can view the print queue and cancel jobs – these functions are available in the Print Center.
Wi-Fi and manufacturer apps
We figured out how to print a document from an iPhone to a printer in the way that Apple offers. If the prerequisites are met, but printing does not work, try the following:
Restart the router and printer.
Move the printer closer to the router.
Install the latest firmware and manufacturer on all devices.
But how to print a digital document from an iPhone to a printer if the equipment does not support AirPrint? If the printer can create a Wi-Fi network, then there will be no problems.
Press the Wi-Fi enable button on the printer.
Open the iOS settings and go to the “Wi-Fi” section.
Select the network with the printer name.
Most major manufacturers have their own apps for printing photos and documents from the iOS environment. For example, if you are looking for how to print a file from an iPhone to an HP printer, install the HP ePrint Enterprise software on your phone. She can print to HP printers connected to a wireless network, and also works with cloud services: Dropbox, Box and Facebook Photos.
A special application is also available for Epson printers. The developers did not experiment with the name of the program – Epson iPrint independently detects compatible printing devices and establishes a connection with them, provided that they work on the same wireless network.
Epson iPrint can print photos from the gallery, documents from Box, Evernote, OneDrive, Dropbox, as well as any files that are added to the application through the “Open in …” function. The program also has a built-in browser with the ability to register for an online service and send documents for printing by e-mail to other Epson printers.
Other printing methods
If the printer does not have a program from the manufacturer, you can use universal solutions. To solve the question of how to print a photo or document from an iPhone to a printer, try three applications:
handyPrint.
Printer Pro.
Google Gloud Print.
HandyPrint offers functionality similar to AirPrint. The program is distributed shareware: after 14 days of use, you must donate at least $ 5 to the developers in order to continue printing files.
The application is installed on a computer running OS X. After installation, all computers connected to it will be visible on iOS devices. This is the main drawback of the application: you can send a document or photo for printing only when the computer is turned on.
If you don’t have a computer running OS X, install the Printer Pro printing application directly on your iPhone. Before you buy the full version, be sure to use the free demo mode, which allows you to print four documents and calibrate the print area.
The program works a little differently than handyPrint. All documents that you want to send to print must be opened through Printer Pro. If you want to print a page from Safari, replace the http address with phttp and the page will open in Printer Pro.
If you need a completely universal and free solution, turn to Google Cloud Print. With it, you can make available for printing any printers that are connected to computers with Internet access and registered in the Cloud Print system.
To send a document to a device for printing, you must be signed in to your Google Account on iOS using Google Docs, Chrome, or another browser.

TL;DR – The wired soundsport pros filled a niche that somehow no longer exits. Earbuds that rest in your ear, but also have a wingtip. Plug style headphones are uncomfortable to many, and even cause headaches. I want my soundsports back 🙁
My girlfriend and I have been using the wired Bose Soundsports for years. I sleep with earbuds in, and as a result constantly break them. So when bose stopped selling them, and the reselling began it broke my heart. Currently on amazon you they resell for 100-500 dollars, for a product that originally cost $30. They can be found on ebay for 40 dollars, but inevitably only work in 1 ear. My girlfriend is dreading the day hers break, because to buy a functional pair of them that also work with android will cost her 500 dollars, and she’ll likely pay it. That’s how good these headphones are to us.
There seem to be 2 general types of earbud being produced the airpod generation 1 that simple rest in your ear and slip out easily. And the more popular and common earplug design. So popular that apple abandoned their previous design philosophy when sound isolation became a priority.
The earplug version creates a seal with your ear, isolating sound, and also trapping pressure inside your ear canal. For many people myself included this is incredibly uncomfortable. I have never found a pair of plug style earbuds that didnt give me a migraine after an hour of use.
The resting style is my prefered choice, but it too is flawed. Both with wired, and wireless versions they fall out of ears very easily. When I sleep with them I wake up and have to search the bed to find them.
There is an easy solution to this that almost noone seems to be using. Wingtips. However for some reason the industry has seems to unly use wingtips on earbuds that already have plug style design. Creating a double layer of security that is barely necessary. Rest style earbuds that need wingtips the most are almost non-existent, at least by my search. What few there are, are crude rubber addons that slip about and feel incredibly cheap.
In my search for a pair of headphones to replace the Bose Soundsports I only found 1 pair that was attempting to replicate the style, and it was a poor imitation that slipped off easily.
In the age of wireless earbuds and charging cases it is astonishing to me that not a single company seems to be filling this niche. It solves all the problems of the resting style earbuds, without the headaches associated with plug earbuds (for some). Given the resale value of the original wired bose soundsports I think its obvious there is a niche to be filled, and dear god do I wish some company would fill it. I am not a headphone snob in anyway. I break wired earbuds constantly so buy very cheap, and also have never spent more than 40 bucks on a pair of wireless earbuds. I just want something that will stay in my ear, and not give me migraines dammit.
Thank you for coming to my long winded rant about this. It’s been bothering me for years and I can’t believe no one else has picked up the ball.

Despite the fact that Bose is considered the king of ANC, more competitors have appeared on the scene, who have paid attention to the historical audio brand. Sony has made incredible progress with its WH-1000XM5 on-ear headphones and WF-1000XM4 in-ear headphones. Apple also stepped into the game with the AirPods Max and improved the AirPods Pro 2.
Whatever the competition in the market, that hasn’t stopped Bose from maintaining its legacy, which remains strong with critically acclaimed new models and past models that still stand the test of time.

Pros
9No disable ANC
Call quality not as good as QC 35
QuietComfort 45 is a solid recommendation for Bose fans who want to swap out their old QCs for something more modern, or for buyers who want top-notch Bose noise cancellation at a lower price than the 700 (above).
ANC is a first-class solution that eliminates 90 percent of ambient noise. These headphones also have a wonderful transparency mode that enhances your awareness without sacrificing sound. The sound has good momentum in the frequency range to cover most musical genres.
The extra 4 hours of ANC play time is nice, although there is no way to disable this feature. Design and comfort have also remained the same, with a few minor tweaks to make the look a bit fresher.
3

Best Bose in-ear headphones
WATCH IN Y.MARKET
Active Noise Cancellation (ANC): yes Design: in-ear (closed) Connectivity: Bluetooth 5.1 Charging case type: USB Type-C Operating time: 6 hours; 24 hours (charging case) Weight: 6g
Pros
Outstanding noise cancellation
Well-balanced sound
Excellent call quality
Compact and stylish design
Low comfort
The Bose QuietComfort Earbuds 2 are a great extension that provides more high-quality sound, excellent call quality and unsurpassed noise suppression. Patented technologies such as ActiveSense and CustomTune balance sound very well and cancel out noise. Bose’s redesign also makes these buds less bulky compared to the original.
But not every update factor achieves its goal. This time around, touch controls are less reliable and app connectivity is very buggy. In addition, these headphones are missing some features like aptX, spatial audio and wireless charging that are becoming more standard and easily available from ANC competitors at all price points.
I believe Bose will fix their apps and touch accuracy because they did it earlier in the previous version via a firmware update. 9Bose QuietComfort Earbuds 503 Design: in-ear (closed) Connection: Bluetooth 5.1 Case charging type: wireless charging Protection rating: IPX4 Number of microphones: 4 Driver type: dynamic Number of drivers: 1 Supported codecs: AAC Operating time: 6 hours Battery life in the case: 18 hours Frequency response: 9050 4 20-20000 Hz Weight: 17. 2 g

Bose have outdone themselves by integrating the same category-best active noise canceling as the 700 headphones into these tiny headphones. You end up with the best ANC model in the true wireless space.
Like their on-ear counterparts, the QuietComfort Earbuds provide access to 10 adjustable levels of noise cancellation, three of which can be saved to the Bose Music app so you can easily switch between them on the left earbud. Bose have ported over their Active EQ technology and proprietary drivers to give these headphones a warm and pleasant sound. And just when you thought the benefits would end there, the QuietComfort Earbuds boast a powerful array of microphones for best-in-class call quality.
All this functionality certainly requires a lot of power to operate, which is, unfortunately, the greatest compromise of the QuietComfort headphones. Users will get a play time that is slightly higher than regular AirPods. On top of that, the charging case is quite large and doesn’t offer much extra battery life.

Design: in-ear (closed) Connectivity: Bluetooth 5.1 Case charging type: USB Type-C Degree of protection: IPX4 Number of microphones: 4 Driver type: dynamic Number of drivers: 1 Supported codecs: AAC Operating time: 5 hours Battery life in case: 15 hours Frequency response: 20-20000 Hz Weight: 13.6g
Pros
Well balanced sound
Solid construction
Ultra-compact charging case
Cons
Short battery life
Bose The Sport Earbuds are a more fitness-focused (and much cheaper) alternative to the QuietComfort headphones. The design is much more compact and comfortable, and although there is no active noise cancellation, the sound quality is very close to more expensive models. This sweat-proof set of earbuds comes with removable tips so you can find the perfect fit for your ears and prevent them from falling out on the treadmill.

Pros
Top notch noise canceling
Clear, rich sound
Reliable connectivity
9000 7 ANC works in wired mode
Cons
Poor voice assistant integration
Outdated design
The QC35 II sat on the throne of ANC for quite some time, introducing noise cancellation that was second to none. Bose uses a set of microphones and proprietary algorithms to clean up the QC35 II’s soundscape of unwanted noise at various frequencies. The roaring car engines and the crying of babies don’t stand a chance.
The QC35 II profile emphasizes the bass but also keeps the mids and highs clear regardless of the song. Best of all, the ANC function works in both wireless and wired modes.

Not much thanks to the update
These rugged, sporty and waterproof headphones are a bit bulky, but Bose hasn’t compromised on performance. Enjoy rich, wide bass and sparkling sound.
Battery life is five hours, but plug the headphones into the case/charger and you can add an extra ten hours of power to them. That should be enough for even the toughest gym fans out there.
They also contain useful functions. As well as five LEDs on the outside of the case that show how much charge is left. And forgetful people will also appreciate the Find My Headphones feature, which shows their location on your phone. Comfortable.
How to choose the best Bose headphones
We’re talking about Bose. Therefore, noise reduction should be in the first place. Not all Bose models come with ANC, but newer ones do, so you need to make sure this feature is available on your model. Check out the Bose headphones with multiple levels of noise cancellation and listening to the world around you. Those that don’t have this should have a design that can passively block out unwanted noise.
Audio goes hand in hand with ANC. All forms of media (e.g. music, videos, games) should sound crisp and clear without degrading noise reduction. Explore models with powerful drivers and customization to personalize how you hear content. Bonuses such as equalizer, presets or spatial audio are welcome but not required.
You need enough battery life to enjoy your music. The typical playback time is 20 hours for noise canceling headphones and 5 hours (per charge) for noise canceling earbuds. Fortunately, most Bose headphones and earbuds meet these criteria. Fast charging is another feature worth mentioning as it allows you to get energy in a short period of time: a 10-minute charge often gives you 1 hour of use.
If you prefer wireless headphones or earbuds, consider the latest version of Bluetooth 5.0. This gives you faster connections, longer range (max 120 meters), bigger battery and even multipoint technology for pairing two audio sources at the same time. Later versions also guarantee digital assistant support (Siri, Google, Bixby).

Somewhere around 15(!) years ago I posted on Ars asking for recommendations for a flat screen TV, and this crowd pointed me towards a 50″ Samsung Plasma that has been the centerpiece of our living room ever since. Not even a fancy Kuru – just a basic screen. Paid about $1000 at Sears. I loved it, my wife loved it, and for YEARS everyone commented how much nicer it was than the LCD they had at home.
We’re doing a bit of an interior refresh, and have decided it’s time move the plasma to the bedroom and get something a little larger and more modern looking – the 2″ bezel is a dead giveaway that this thing is OLD. 75″ is about the largest that will comfortably fit on this wall. Looking for Ars to steer me in the right direction once again.
Main use will be streaming movies off Netflix/Disney+/etc, live sports via antenna, and general background TV with the news or whatever on. No gaming systems. Currently have a decent stereo setup, but that is also being retired – will see how the TV speakers do, but suspect I will end up getting a sound bar. Hoping to condense everything to be flush mounted on the wall rather than having a TV stand. Room is decently bright during the day, but no direct sunlight. I don’t consider myself a screen quality connoisseur, but would hate to take a step backwards from the plasma. If that is even possible these days.
Price range is flexible….$1000 would be great, $1500 would be doable, would need a really good justification to go any higher.

Basically any OLED of this year or last will be great, at that size you might have to stretch your budget unless you find a sale for a previous year model, I think. They have new QDOLED models with enhanced brightness and color performance that are amazing but outside your budget I think. If I remember right, April is about the time new models start coming out so it might be good to wait until then for deals on previous models.

If you have the budget, OLED is the way to go. But for $1500 the Hisense U8H LCD does fit. Ultimate picture quality may not be as good but I’d say for your intended use, $1500 on a U8H might make the most sense vs. more for a OLED.
but would hate to take a step backwards from the plasma. If that is even possible these days.

Would say go OLED.

I have a LG OLED tv and the picture quality is very nice on them. The LG C2 OLED EVO TVs are on sale now and would be what I would look at if I was getting a new TV.
A 55 inch is $1300
If you wanted to go up to a 65inch then its $1700.
The older C1 model in 65 inch which is what I got a couple years ago and is a great TV is now $1500:
Hopefully you can go to a local store and view them in person and see if the newer display tech is worth an extra $200 if you want to go up to 65 inch.
I have a regular wall mounted in our living room and it doesn’t stick out much because the OLED is pretty thin and will be way thinner and lighter than a plasma screen tv. They do make design or gallery TVs but those are pretty expensive.

Sony X90 series is your best bet. X80 or X85 if you want to save some money. Big sizes for cheap with great picture quality.

I recently got a Samsung QN85B 65″, which is part of Samsung’s Neo QLED line, which is just below their OLED line. So I’d imagine that the version of Tizen and overall interface are similar.
Picture/panel quality is fine but I hate EVERYTHING about the user interface. The settings menu seems to be purposefully obtuse. Thankfully you don’t have to deal with it too much after initial setup, except its also the only TV I’ve encountered that will not automatically fall back to TV speakers if the receiver is off (tried ARC and optical). You have to go into the settings menu to toggle between AVR and TV Speakers. The solar remote is also pretty terrible.

1. 77″ LG B2 $2K – Over budget OLED but worth it especially coming from a plasma. Self emissive, each pixel individually controlled, wide viewing angles, no local dimming blooming or black crush. 2. 75″ Samsung QN85B $1.8K – Over budget mini-LED ADS panel LCD, very bright, many FALD zones, great viewing angles. 3. 75″ LG QNED85 $1.7K – Over budget mini-LED ADS panel LCD, very bright, many FALD zones, great viewing angles. Very similar to the Samsung. 4. 75″ Sony X90K $1.5K – Traditional VA panel LCD, narrow viewing angles, limited number of zones, medium brightness. 5. 75″ Hisense UH8 $1.5K – Mini-LED VA panel LCD, lots of zones, very bright, narrow viewing angles.
Anything less would be a step down.

I have the 75″ Hisense U8H and highly recommend it. It’s MiniLED, which is nearly on par with OLEDs in terms of overall picture quality. Definitely go check one out at Best Buy if you can find it on display. The U8H black levels are nearly indistinguishable from an OLED with almost no blooming due to the high local dimming count (as long as you stick with the 65″ or 75″), and it can get stupidly bright which is great for HDR. Minor bonus – the U8H has an ATSC 3.0 tuner, if you happen to live in an area that uses it. ATSC 3.0 is the next gen of broadcast TV, which supports OTA 4K and HDR. Not in every market yet, but a bit of futureproofing since you said you watch broadcast.
The 65″ is $1000, which is a steal for a set this good. It’s obviously still a “bargain” TV, so it’s not going be on the same level as a top-end LG or Sony OLED, but from my experience it gets pretty damn close. All of Hisense’s 2023 models are MiniLED, which tells you which direction the industry is headed in terms of legitimate alternatives to OLED, so definitely don’t feel like you have to shell out the extra money for an OLED to get a great picture.

With your description, it sounds like you should get an OLED. All OLED TVs except Samsung’s “QD-OLED” use the same panel from LG. LG makes TVs as well, which are good for price-performance, while others who use the same panels (e.g. Sony) might have better calibration systems or software in general.
I have an LG 65C1 and I am very happy with it.

Yeah, honestly about 90% convinced at this point I’ll be picking up a 65″ LG OLED. Planning to do some more research and make a decision after work today.
The 77″ equivalent is 1) out of my budget and 2) physically too large for where it needs to go. By like an inch.

Sony also has TVs using Samsung’s QD-OLED panels– specifically, the A95K out of their 2022 line. Those’ll be Samsung panels, but with Sony’s processing (of note, Sony does Dolby Vision and Samsung does not). Presumably, the 2023 A95L will use a similar Samsung panel; I don’t recall whether or not we’re expecting QD-OLED to move downmarket into more models at all for 2023, from either Samsung or Sony.
Way out of Korov’s price range right now– I mostly just wanted to mention it to point out that there are more than just LG panels floating around out there.

1. 77″ LG B2 $2K – Over budget OLED but worth it especially coming from a plasma.

[Resolved] Whirlpool Review: whirlpool washer #wtw5000dw2 model # / serial #c92946647
Whirlpool
We purchased this washer along with the matching dryer less then a month ago. This is the absolute worse washing machine I have ever bought. Washing black clothes is impossible as no matter what is told me about troubleshooting this issue this problem is never resolved. Home phone # that is tied to the warranty entered on your website is [protected] under Eric Jacobsen. I would like a refund in full for both the washer and dryer so I can go purchase a set that actually will clean my clothes properly. I am 62 years old and have purchased more than my share of washers and dryers and this is the worst I have ever seen and the first time every I have complained about any appliance I have bought. This was our first time purchasing Whirpool and thought that this would be a good purchase but it has been a nightmare. I am not submitting pictures as just think of black pants, sweaters or tops with white streaks all over them. I even washed with no detergent and I still get the white streaks! I have cleaned the washer many times and I haven’t even owned it for a month yet! Please respond.

Duplex black printing yielded a healthy 5.8 sides per minute. Overall, the speeds are more than acceptable.

Everything you need to know about printing from iPhone with AirPrint
Printing from iPhone is something that a very wide group of users need, but many don’t know how to change printer settings when printing via AirPrint, in this article we give you a complete guide to learn how to make the necessary changes to ensure proper printing. And we also offer you third-party printing apps that can make your job easier!
AirPrint feature
AirPrint, for those who don’t know it, is a built-in feature in macOS and iOS for printing over a wireless LAN, either directly from compatible printers with it, or to incompatible printers through a Windows computer. Linux or macOS. This feature is included in most popular printer models and does not require special drivers. And it allows the user to send photos or files from the iPhone directly to an AirPrint-enabled printer.
And for printing with AirPrint:
◉ Open the application you want to print from and click the share button to open the message window, then print and note that some applications do not support AirPrint.
◉ Click Select Printer, then select an AirPrint-enabled printer.
◉ Select the number of copies or pages to print.
◉ Click “Print” in the top left corner.
How to change the print size on the iPhone
AirPrint provides the user with several printing options. Please note that these are basic settings and will depend on the printer you are using and the print options available to it.
To change printer settings on iPhone:
◉ Select the file or photo you want to print, then tap the Share button at the bottom of the screen, then scroll down and select Print.
Select options Options To show the available print options. In this case, the printer allows us to change the size and color of the paper, but your printer may have more or fewer options.
◉ After changing the printer settings, click “Print” in the top corner.
How to resize an image to print from iPhone
Sometimes the print size setting on iPhone still doesn’t give you the paper size you want when printing photos. To adjust the print size of an image, you may need to crop the image first in the Photos app. To crop image:
◉ Open the Photos app and select the image you want to crop, then tap Edit .
◉ Select Crop, then click the frame icon at the top of the screen.
◉ Now you can choose between horizontal or vertical modes or various preset cropping modes, then tap Done Done In the bottom corner when finished cropping.
The usual crop ratios for printing an image using iPhone are 8:10, 2:3, and 5:7. You can select the option that best suits the photo you are printing.
iPhone Printing Applications
The print options available in Photos and AirPrint are somewhat limited. To access more detailed settings, including changing the print size, you need to download the app from the App Store. In this section, we’ll take a look at some of our favorite print apps, and they’re all free.

Meet the king of noise canceling headphones. The Bose 700 headphones effectively outperform their predecessors by offering adjustable ANC that is equally effective whether you’re listening to music, making or receiving phone calls.
They even sound good with your digital assistants. In addition, you get a new stylish design and balanced accurate sound reproduction.

3
Bose QuietComfort Earbuds 2
9Bose QuietComfort Earbuds 503 Design: in-ear (closed) Connection: Bluetooth 5.1 Case charging type: wireless charging Protection rating: IPX4 Number of microphones: 4 Driver type: dynamic Number of drivers: 1 Supported codecs: AAC Operating time: 6 hours Battery life in the case: 18 hours Frequency response: 9050 4 20-20000 Hz Weight: 17. 2 g
Pros
Excellent ANC
Excellent call quality
Dynamic sound
Reliable connection
9 0002 Cons
Less than advertised battery life
Bose have outdone themselves by integrating the same category-best active noise canceling as the 700 headphones into these tiny headphones.
5
Bose Sport Earbuds
Best Bose Sport Earbuds

Sonos Era 300
Sonos’s latest wireless speaker is the Era 300, its first model designed for spatial audio. Hence the unique cinched hourglass design. It’s also the first third-party device to support Spatial Audio on Apple Music, and Sonos’s first speaker with both Bluetooth and line-in support (the latter comes via USB-C, though you’ll also need an adapter, which costs £19 / $19 / AU$35). The sound is superb, much more engrossing and high quality than other speakers in its class and price range, and it blows the (admittedly cheaper) Apple HomePod 2 out of the water in terms of sound quality. It’s certainly pricey though – keep an eye on the widget below for a deal.

Sonos Era 300 vs Apple HomePod 2: which smart speaker is better?
Sonos Era 100
The Era 300 is joined by the Era 100, a less powerful model that’s not equipped for spatial audio. It replaces the Sonos One, and brings some big improvements – it outputs in stereo, whereas the One only played in mono. Like the Era 300 above, it too packs both Bluetooth and a USB-C line-in port, and a new volume slider on the top panel. Also like the Era 300, it can handle 24-bit music files from a supported streaming service like Qobuz and Amazon Music Unlimited. And the sound? Very good indeed, with a soundstage much wider than you would expect from a speaker this size. At £249 / $249 / AU$399, it’s pricier than the Sonos One it replaces, but check back on this page and you might find a bargain.

Sonos Era 100 vs Sonos One: which Sonos smart speaker should you buy?
Sonos Ray

Sonos doesn’t just do premium. For proof, check out the Sonos Ray, its most affordable soundbar. There are no HDMI ports nor Dolby Atmos or Bluetooth support, but it still offers all the features and functionality of the Sonos wireless family. Sonos Roam

Finally a truly portable Sonos Bluetooth speaker. Much lighter and smaller than the Move, see below, the new Roam is IP67 rated, meaning complete water and dust resistance and its built-in battery has the stamina for up to 10 hours of playback. The Sonos Roam comes with a USB-C charging cable and is compatible with standard Qi wireless chargers. You can use the Sonos app and get all of the normal features, or play music over AirPlay or Bluetooth. It’s a party-starting sound, too, with punch and bass, and plenty of excitement. Before the Roam, the Sonos Move was the first portable Bluetooth Sonos speaker, albeit a large and heavy one. Thanks to the battery and new wireless connection option, the Sonos Move is pretty much ideal for anyone who’s been waiting for a more versatile Sonos speaker. It is on the expensive side, putting it up against some stronger sonic competition, and surprisingly chunky for a portable speaker, but otherwise the Move is a fine option.

Sonos Beam (2nd Gen)
The Sonos Beam Gen 2 is simply the best Dolby Atmos soundbar at this price point. The Beam Gen 2 not only lives up to the high bar set by its predecessor (below) but exceeds it by a margin that more than justifies its new feature set and higher cost. The decision by Sonos to use processing power and forward-facing drivers to recreate Dolby Atmos has paid off with a more capable and effective handling of the format than many more expensive soundbars with upward-firing drivers.
Atmos aside, it sounds incredible, reaching deeper than the Beam Gen 1 with more refinement, a warmer treble, and wider dynamic range. Where the Beam Gen 1 might skim over certain complex sounds the Gen 2 has a greater capacity to take them on, consistently resulting in a richer, more nuanced and varied listening experience.

Sonos Arc
The best Sonos soundbar? It just might be. The Sonos Arc isn’t cheap but it does add Dolby Atmos to the party and deliver the most impressive version of surround sound we’ve heard from a Sonos speaker, and indeed, one of the best from any soundbar on the market. And of course it’s also a multi-room wireless speaker with app and voice control, plus access to practically every music streaming service on the planet.

Sonos Playbase
If you prefer a soundbase to a soundbar, then the Playbase is your only option where Sonos is concerned. Actually, make that was your only option, as it too has been discontinued. It creates a big, broad soundstage and a solid, natural bass. It’s also aesthetically stylish and reassuringly well put together. The treble can be a bit edgy when it gets really loud but it’s still a fine buy if you can actually find one that’s discounted.

Sonos Play:5 / Sonos Five
The biggest, boldest and most powerful speaker in the Sonos range, the Play:5 can fill even the biggest room with a rich, powerful sound. Some new rivals might beat it on pure audio performance, but as an addition to a Sonos system, it’s still terrific quality. And you can make a good saving right now on the original price.

Sonos Play:3
Like the majority of Sonos’s wireless speakers, the Play:3 is another cracking performer and if you can find one, then you should get a good price. Again, maybe a refurbished or, as Amazon calls it, renewed model. No touch-sensitive controls or voice assistants, but all the control and streaming functionality of the Sonos family is there. Naturally you get a lift in performance over the Play:1 too.

The original, small but beautiful Sonos Play:1 remains an accomplished performer for sound – although it’s pretty hard to find on sale right now. If you do spot one, perhaps secondhand on eBay or the Sonos Refurbished site, then while it’s light on the bells and whistles of the Sonos One – such as voice control – it’s still a decent option.

Sonos IKEA Symfonisk table lamp speaker
Bookshelf speaker too obvious for you? How about a table lamp that doubles as a wi-fi speaker? Again, this strange idea actually works well, the Sonos IKEA Symfonisk table lamp speaker slots completely into the Sonos family and offering all of the features of a standard Sonos speaker, complete with the addition of the lamp (add your own bulb). It’s a good-sounding speaker but far from a great one and plenty of rivals at this price will deliver far better sound, albeit minus the illumination. The choice, is yours.

Sonos Sub Mini
The Sub Mini is designed to mix and match with any of Sonos’s full range speakers. Though because of its diminutive size, it’s recommended to partner with some of its smaller, more affordable models such as the Beam Gen 2, Ray, One, One SL or Symfonisk speakers in small to medium-sized rooms.
Connectivity is via a low-latency 5 GHz WiFi connection, which means the Sub Mini only requires a cable for power. Once added to a soundbar or speaker system, volume changes between the two are linked automatically. However, bass level and EQ can be adjusted independently in the Sonos app, where it can also be optimised to the acoustics of your space using Sonos’s Trueplay tuning technology.
With a space-saving cylindrical design measuring just 23cm by 30.5 cm, the Sub Mini uses a clever driver layout to help maximise its performance while producing a claimed low-frequency response down to 25 Hz. The Sub Mini could be the ideal choice for those looking to bring a touch of low-end to a smaller space.

FYI
Our new upgrade pick is the Dell UltraSharp U2723QE.
If you’re on your computer only once or twice a day to check email and read the news, you don’t need to buy any of the monitors in this guide—our budget monitor picks are great for the basics and cost half as much.
But if you spend hours every day staring at a screen for work (or for fun), a 27-inch monitor’s extra size and usable space are worth the money. The Asus ProArt Display PA278CV offers the best all-around combination of picture quality, ports, and price, along with a fully adjustable stand and a great three-year warranty.
Our pick
Asus ProArt Display PA278CV
If you don’t need a 4K monitor, the PA278CV is a 2560×1440 model with good color accuracy, an adjustable stand, and all the ports most people need.
Buying Options
Resolution: 2560×1440 | Refresh rate: 75 Hz with FreeSync | Ports: HDMI, DisplayPort in, DisplayPort out, USB-C | USB-C charging: 65 W | USB hub: four USB 3.0 Type-A ports
The Asus ProArt Display PA278CV has a great-looking screen with good enough color accuracy for most people and all the ports you need to hook up desktop or laptop PCs. The PA278CV’s stand can tilt, swivel, and pivot the screen and raise and lower its height, its USB-C port can provide enough power to charge most 13-inch laptops, and it comes with a three-year warranty and a good dead-pixel policy. Its QHD resolution (2560×1440) means it isn’t as sharp as a 4K screen, but it’s also hundreds of dollars cheaper than comparable 4K monitors.

Dell UltraSharp U2723QE
This 4K Dell monitor offers a top-notch contrast, a sharp display, and all the ports you could need.
Resolution: 3840×2160 | Refresh rate: 60 Hz | Ports: one USB-C, one HDMI, one DisplayPort 1.4 in, one DisplayPort 1.4 out, Gigabit Ethernet | USB-C charging: 90 W | USB hub: one USB-C port with 15 W charging, five USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 ports
The Dell UltraSharp U2723QE has a higher 4K resolution than our top pick, meaning text and images will look much sharper. It also has a new technology that doubles its contrast compared to standard IPS monitors, so its 2000:1 contrast ratio looks great when displaying movies, TV shows, and pictures. This monitor also looked great when used with Mac machines, something we can’t say for most lower-resolution 1440p monitors, so if you’re looking for a high-resolution 27-inch display, this is the best one we’ve tested.

Why you should trust us
Dave Gershgorn has reviewed and covered technology since 2015 at publications such as Popular Science, Quartz, Medium, and now Wirecutter. He covers all computer displays for Wirecutter and is a certified display calibrator through the Imaging Science Foundation.
Former Wirecutter senior staff writer Andrew Cunningham wrote previous versions of this guide and has been testing, reviewing, and otherwise writing about PCs and other gadgets for AnandTech, Ars Technica, and Wirecutter since 2012.
Our monitor guides benefit from the expert advice of Wirecutter’s Chris Heinonen. He helped us figure out the best hardware and software to use for our testing, and he designed the evaluation process.
Who this is for
If you have room on your desk, a 27-inch monitor is an ideal size. If you use lots of apps at once and have good eyesight, a 27-inch monitor fits a lot more information than smaller screens do. If you have poor eyesight, you can scale up the size of text and images and still have a usable amount of desktop space.
A good 4K monitor costs several hundred dollars more than a good QHD monitor, and not everyone benefits from the added sharpness.
We think most people will find a monitor that has a 2560×1440 resolution (also known as Quad HD, QHD, 2K, or 1440p) for their desktop or laptop computer will meet all of their needs for office work and even gaming. These monitors aren’t as sharp as 4K screens, but they’re usually cheaper and easier to power with any type of computer. And it’s easy to find models with plenty of ports, excellent adjustable stands, and great picture quality. QHD monitors are also great for playing PC games, since all but the fastest, most expensive graphics cards struggle to play modern titles at 4K resolutions.
On the other hand, if you edit photos or video for a living, or if you just want sharper text and more detailed images, a 4K monitor might be worth the extra money. A 27-inch 4K monitor has a 3840×2160-pixel resolution, 2.25 times as many pixels as a QHD monitor has. Our full guide to 4K monitors has more picks for people who need a larger or cheaper 4K screen.
If you don’t have enough space on your desk for a 27-inch monitor, one of our 24-inch monitor picks might be better (or you could check out some space-saving monitor arms). If you’re looking for the cheapest good monitor you can buy, consider a 1080p budget monitor. If you work with lots of big spreadsheets or databases (or multiple apps side by side) and don’t want a multi-monitor setup—either because you don’t have the space for them or you want one large, continuous workspace—read our guide to ultrawide monitors.
Not sure what kind of monitor you need?
How we picked and tested
These are the features we consider the most important to look for in a 27-inch monitor:
Display technology: We test only those monitors that use IPS display panels, not TN (or VA) technology, because IPS panels provide far better viewing angles and color reproduction.
Resolution: The three most common monitor resolutions that we test across all our guides are 1080p, or 1920×1080; Quad HD/QHD, or 2560×1440; and 4K, or 3840×2160. For a 27-inch monitor, 1080p is too low a resolution—text and images are likely to be visibly pixelated or blocky. And 4K monitors, while excellent for discerning eyes and pro media, are more expensive—this is part of the reason we have a separate guide for them. For most people, QHD monitors offer the best combination of detail, usable desktop space, and price.
Ports: Since most computers have either an HDMI port or a DisplayPort connection, having both is a requirement for any good monitor, and the best models also include a USB-C port that can receive a display signal and charge a connected laptop at the same time. Great monitors should also include a USB 3.0 hub so you can connect peripherals such as keyboards, mice, and webcams, as modern laptops come with fewer and fewer ports of their own.
Contrast ratio: A good contrast ratio makes the dark areas of a screen easier to see when you’re watching a movie or playing a game. A contrast ratio of 1000:1 or higher (note that higher is better) is typical of IPS panels. Having a good contrast ratio is a little more important than having accurate color—you can often fix inaccurate color after the fact by calibrating the monitor yourself, but a poor contrast ratio is harder to address.
Color accuracy and color gamut: For everyday use, you just need color to be accurate enough that web pages, photos, or movies don’t look off because of overly saturated colors or weird color tints. Monitors that have been calibrated by their manufacturers offer better color accuracy than monitors that haven’t. For the best image quality, your monitor should also cover as much of the sRGB color gamut as possible; the more gamut coverage a monitor provides, the wider the range of colors it can accurately represent. Coverage of the wider DCI-P3 color gamut is also a plus.
Stands and VESA-mount support: If your monitor doesn’t allow you to properly align it for correct posture, your body can pay the price. The most ergonomic option, and a requirement for our picks, is a monitor’s ability to attach to a monitor arm via a VESA mount (simply a standardized set of screw holes on the back). Our recommendations prioritize monitors with stands that can slide up and down, tilt front to back, swivel side to side, and pivot into portrait mode.
Warranty: We looked only at monitors that came with warranties lasting one year or longer. A good dead-pixel policy that protects your purchase from bright and dark pixel defects is also important.
Refresh rate: The faster a monitor can update the image on screen, the smoother and more fluid motions such as scrolling and 3D games will look. Most monitor, laptop, phone, and tablet screens update 60 times per second—on a spec sheet, that number is reported in hertz (Hz)—and the higher that number is, the smoother things look, especially when gaming.
Easy-to-use controls: Your monitor’s on-screen display should make it easy to change settings such as text size or brightness. Its buttons, whether capacitive or physical, should also be easy to use.
To test monitors, we performed typical desktop work for a few hours on each one, noting the sturdiness and quality of the stand and how easy the monitor was to adjust using the on-screen controls. We tested for some common issues that can afflict LCD monitors, such as low-light flicker (also called PWM flicker) and image retention.
We then set each monitor to 140 cd/m2 (candelas per square meter) of brightness to test the accuracy of each monitor’s color accuracy and contrast. A screen with too-bright, oversaturated color might look good to the naked eye, but photos, videos, and web pages won’t look the way their creators intended. We tested each monitor using an X-Rite i1Basic Pro 2 and a Calibrite ColorChecker Display Plus, and we ran custom tests using the Calman software calibration suite. The Calman tests produce DeltaE 2000 numbers, which show how much the displayed color deviates from what it’s supposed to be: The lower the number, the better the result. A DeltaE value lower than 1.0 is perfect. Under 2.0 is good enough for print-production work, and you wouldn’t notice a difference even if you had a perfect reference to compare against. Ratings above 3.0 mean you’d probably see a difference with your naked eye.

Our pick
Asus ProArt Display PA278CV
If you don’t need a 4K monitor, the PA278CV is a 2560×1440 model with good color accuracy, an adjustable stand, and all the ports most people need.
Buying Options
The Asus ProArt Display PA278CV offers all the most important features we look for in a great 27-inch monitor: a nice-looking screen with decent color accuracy, a flexible stand, a USB hub, a USB-C port with enough power to charge a 13-inch laptop, and a three-year warranty with a good dead-pixel policy. Movement and animations on screen are a little smoother than on older monitors because its screen refreshes at a slightly faster-than-typical 75 times per second (or 75 Hz). The PA278CV is more expensive than some of the other monitors we tested, but it’s one of the cheapest to include this array of features.
The PA278CV has (from left) one HDMI port, one DisplayPort input, a USB-C port, a DisplayPort output, and two USB 3.0 Type-A ports on the back. Two more USB 3.0 Type-A ports sit on the side of the monitor (they’re underneath the text labels in the top-right corner of this picture). Photo: Michael Murtaugh
The array of ports make it a great monitor to use with a laptop. Laptops often include only one or two (or sometimes zero) USB Type-A ports. The PA278CV has ports on the back plus a built-in USB hub (with two ports on the back and two on the side). If you connect a compatible laptop to the monitor’s USB-C port, that single cable can handle the display signal, the USB hub, and charging all at once. The monitor can provide up to 65 watts of power to charge the computer, enough for 13-inch laptops like the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro, as well as the Dell XPS 13.
The PA278CV’s design is angular but nice-looking and understated. Note the cable-management clip on the stand. Photo: Michael Murtaugh
The PA278CV has its controls on the front rather than on the bottom or the back, which makes them easy to use. Photo: Michael Murtaugh
The PA278CV’s design is angular but nice-looking and understated. Note the cable-management clip on the stand. Photo: Michael Murtaugh
The PA278CV’s 1440p screen is good enough. The color accuracy wasn’t exceptional when we used its Standard color preset (which is not its most accurate preset overall but is the most accurate preset to give you full control over its brightness settings). Most of the monitor’s DeltaE scores from our standardized color tests landed between 2.0 and 3.0, which means its photos and videos may not look exactly as they do on a color-calibrated computer or phone screen, but things generally don’t look off enough to be distracting for most people. The majority of the monitors we tested for this update fell into this “fine but not great” category.

A grayscale score above 3.0 indicates that shades of gray may have a visible color tint. ColorChecker and saturation scores above 3.0 mean that the colors displayed on screen may look visibly different when compared with a color-accurate reference image.
This monitor has an excellent stand. It can raise, lower, tilt, swivel, and pivot the screen. Like all of our picks, this monitor includes VESA mounting support so you can replace the stand with a monitor arm if you’d like, but the included stand is good enough that most people shouldn’t need to worry about it. And the monitor’s three-year warranty is also great—in addition to protecting you from hardware failure, Asus’s dead-pixel policy states that the company will replace the screen if you notice even a single bright subpixel or five or more dark subpixels (both defects are irritating, but bright subpixels are much more noticeable).
Flaws but not dealbreakers
The color accuracy is good but not great. Asus specifically advertises the color accuracy of its ProArt displays, but in testing the PA278CV we found that its color accuracy was fine but not outstanding, on most of its color presets. It does have an sRGB preset that’s exceptionally accurate (in our testing, it was even better than what Asus advertises on the box), but that preset locks the display’s brightness to a relatively dim 106 cd/m2. This is around 25% dimmer than our typical 140 cd/m2 testing brightness, and unless you’re in a dark or dim room, it’s lower than we like for day-to-day use. If you want exceptionally good color at a higher brightness level, you’ll need to calibrate the screen yourself.

Upgrade pick
Dell UltraSharp U2723QE
This 4K Dell monitor offers a top-notch contrast, a sharp display, and all the ports you could need.
If you’re doing anything that would benefit from sharper, more detailed text and images, we recommend the Dell U2723QE. It’s an excellent 4K display that has great contrast and pleasant colors, and it delivers useful features like 90W of charging over USB-C, a USB hub, and 400 nits of brightness.
Its 4K resolution looks sharp and natural. The monitor offers great contrast without distorting skin tones or other unrealistic color inaccuracies. But the Dell monitor’s best feature is its IPS Black display, which gives a 2000:1 contrast ratio. This is double the contrast of many similar monitors on the market, and when looking at images with shadows, clouds, or smoke, the monitor really shines. If you’ll be using the display for color-critical work like web, print, or video production, you’ll need to calibrate the monitor. Our tests found that the U2723QE displayed color accurately enough for most people, with DeltaE scores between 2.3 and 3.0. That means you’re unlikely to notice color inaccuracies with the naked eye in normal use, but against a reference image you’d likely be able to determine that the color is off.

You can connect multiple computers and peripherals. The U2723QE acts as a USB with six USB ports, including one USB-C, which can connect automatically to your laptop when using a USB-C cable to connect for video signal. The monitor has a “KVM” function that will automatically switch anything plugged into its USB ports between computers attached to the monitor, given everything is connected correctly.
Dell provides a solid warranty. You can also buy the U2723QE with some peace of mind, given Dell’s great Premium Panel Exchange, which ensures Dell will swap the display for a new one if there’s even one bright subpixel. This is one of the best warranties for monitors and a perennial reason we’re comfortable recommending Dell displays.
The competition
The ViewSonic VX2767U-2K has an attractive price of $230 for a 27-inch, 1440p display with USB-C. However, when we tested the display it wouldn’t reliably detect a signal over USB-C, even after testing it with five different laptops. The display would work properly after various combinations of turning the display on and off or plugging and unplugging the cable, but no combination reliably got the monitor to detect a video connection over USB-C the first time.
The LG UltraGear 27GR95QE-B looks incredible when gaming, due to its high-contrast OLED display and 1440p resolution. But text looks a bit fuzzy on the screen, so it’s slightly difficult to read on it for daily use. This is a condition of how pixels are arranged on OLED displays, so for that reason and potential long-term burn-in concerns, we’re recommending most people hold off buying OLED computer monitors until the technology is a bit more refined.
We previously included the MSI Modern MD271QP as a budget pick, but its price has increased since we originally published this guide. It’s still a nice monitor, but for a similar price we now recommend just getting out top pick. We’ll review more budget options in coming months to provide a new recommendation.
The Sceptre E275W-QP is one of the cheapest and most-promoted 1440p monitors on Amazon, but we recommend steering clear. Out of the box it has great contrast and color accuracy, but once you change the brightness its picture quickly falls apart. At its lowest brightness setting we measured its contrast ratio as 354:1, and at its highest setting we measured an abysmal 7:1 contrast ratio.
We also tested the Pixio PX277 Prime, a budget 1440p gaming monitor that’s prominently promoted on Amazon. We found that the monitor looked crooked on its stand after we set it up, with no way to adjust it or make it straight because you can only tilt the display up and down. The Pixio’s color also didn’t look as good as other monitors and didn’t have adequate controls to improve the picture.
Dell’s S2722DC is a decent 1440p monitor that was edged out for our top pick by Asus’ fantastic ProArt PA278CV display. The S2722DC had noticeably lower contrast than the ProArt, which resulted in the picture looking worse across the board.
The LG 27UP850-W is a great 4K display with HDR and a 96 W USB-C port. We think our pick, the Dell S2722QC, represents a better value to most people at $100 cheaper. Most laptops don’t require 96 watts of charging, and Dell’s three-year warranty is far better than LG’s more limited one-year warranty.
The HyperX Armada 27 is a $500 display with a 1440p resolution and specifically pitched toward gamers. It has a 165 Hz refresh rate, which is similar to that of the Asus ROG Strix XG27AQ, and comes with a desk mount rather than a stand, making for a nice addition when desk space is limited. We think our also-great pick provides a better value, as you get similar specs and gaming experience for cheaper.
We haven’t tested the Asus ProArt Display PA278QV, but on paper it’s the exact same monitor as the PA278CV without the USB-C port. Consider buying it instead of the PA278CV if you use a desktop computer or don’t care about USB-C and want to save $80.
ViewSonic’s VG2755-2K is similar to the VG2756-2K but has three USB Type-A ports in its USB hub and no Gigabit Ethernet port, and it refreshes its screen 60 times per second rather than 75. It’s normally $20 or $30 less than the VG2756-2K or the Asus PA278CV, but those monitors’ additional features are worth the relatively small price difference.
We didn’t test Dell’s P2720DC, which is a little more expensive than our main picks and has a 60 Hz refresh rate and no FreeSync support. It is cheaper than the U2721DE, though, and Dell’s U- and P-series monitors typically have good color accuracy and nice designs. It may be worth a try if you want a monitor with a USB-C port, a USB hub, and an adjustable stand and if you want better color accuracy than our picks can give you out of the box.
Acer’s V277U bmiipx was our budget pick in a previous version of this guide, and it’s still a good option at its typical price of around $250.
Acer’s Nitro VG0 VG270U bmiipx and KA272U biipx are good budget options priced around or just under $250. Both offer a 75 Hz refresh rate and FreeSync support along with a pair of HDMI ports and a DisplayPort connection. However, the KA272U feels even cheaper and more plasticky than the other already pretty cheap-feeling budget monitors we tested.
BenQ’s PD2700Q costs more than other 27-inch Acer budget monitors, and it has a big, chunky bezel that makes it look more dated. It does have a USB hub, but its ports handle only USB 2.0 speeds, limiting their usefulness. And it exhibited poor color reproduction in our tests—its 1230:1 contrast ratio was the best of anything we tested, but its DeltaE numbers were all near or above 3.0.
Dell’s S2721DGF is an excellent gaming monitor, with a 165 Hz refresh rate, FreeSync Premium Pro support, a USB hub, and better color accuracy than the ViewSonic XG2705-2K has. In addition, on the back it has blue LED lights, which serve no functional purpose but do look kind of cool. But it’s normally around $150 more expensive than the ViewSonic monitor we recommend for light gaming, and its contrast ratio of 919:1 is short of the 1,000:1 baseline we prefer. On top of that, although Dell prominently advertises the monitor’s VESA DisplayHDR 400 certification, its HDR mode isn’t very good. For example, its local dimming feature, which can turn down the backlight’s brightness during dark scenes to show more detail, is imprecise, producing an unpleasant splotchy look that ruins the effect (for more on what high dynamic range is and what it entails, check out our TV coverage).
The Asus TUF Gaming VG27AQ is a gaming monitor with a maximum refresh rate of 165 Hz, FreeSync support, and an adjustable stand. It usually sells for a little over $400, which makes it less expensive than the Dell S2721DGF. But it doesn’t have a USB hub like Dell’s monitor does, its color accuracy (as on all gaming monitors we tested) was poor, and it’s still a bit pricier than the ViewSonic XG2705-2K. Stepping up from 144 Hz to 165 Hz is not worth paying extra for, but the VG27AQ is a decent option if the ViewSonic model is out of stock.

Buying Guide: The Best Gaming Monitors for 2023
When it comes to deciding which gaming monitor to buy, screen size is a good place to start. Bigger is almost always better, but in some cases you’ll want to keep the size of your screen to no more than 27 inches measured diagonally. If you’ve watched any esports tournaments lately, you’ve likely noticed that all the players are focused on screens smaller than that size. (A 24- or 25-inch panel seems to be the sweet spot, especially for esports-focused displays.)
Why? Well, if you’re playing a highly competitive title such as Counter Strike: Global Offensive or League of Legends, having a smaller screen means you can keep the monitor closer to your eyes while also keeping more of the frame in view. Being able to see every element on screen at once is a vital advantage in a competitive multiplayer environment. The larger your screen, the more difficult it is to keep every enemy combatant in your peripheral vision.
(Credit: Chris Stobing)
If you have the room and don’t care so much about ultra-competitive gaming, however, a larger monitor provides plenty of space for your avatars and characters to roam and offers the opportunity to go beyond full high definition (known as full HD or 1080p and measuring 1,920 by 1,080 pixels). Many newer models are Wide Quad High-Definition (WQHD) monitors with 2,560-by-1,440-pixel resolution (also dubbed 1440p).
The higher pixel count provides sharper imagery than full HD, but you’ll need a reasonably powerful graphics processor to play the latest games at the higher resolution, especially if you have all the visual effects and eye candy enabled. This goes double for 4K or ultra high definition (UHD) screens with a resolution of 3,840 by 2,160 pixels.
If desk space is tight, there are plenty of 24-inch monitors available, but with most of them you’ll be limited to 1080p resolution. If you have lots of room and money is no object, jumbo monitors are tempting. A 30-inch 4K display will deliver a stunning picture with amazing resolution; you can go all out with a 34-inch ultrawide monitor with either a flat or curved panel; or you can splurge on something larger still. (We’ve tested displays up to 65 inches.)
(Credit: Kyle Cobain)
Ultrawide monitors typically have a 21:9 aspect ratio (as opposed to the 16:9 ratio of 1080p, 1440p, and 4K) and offer a much wider field of view than a standard monitor, but they take up a lot of room. A curved widescreen monitor enhances the immersive aspect by making you feel a bit closer to the action, and in some games the wraparound view will also give you a competitive edge.
Battle-royale titles like PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds and Apex Legends both support 21:9 resolution. Rather than simply squashing and stretching the image as some games do, these games (and others with native 21:9 support) will actually show more of the battlefield on either side than you’d see on a 16:9 panel. Battle-royale players in particular will benefit from this increased real estate. A player on a 16:9 panel may not see an enemy standing on a hill far off in the periphery, but a 21:9 player might be able to spot the threat without having to turn their character.
Which Monitor Panel Technology Should You Get?
You’ll see several main panel technologies used in different gaming monitors, and each has its pluses and minuses.
Twisted nematic (TN) panels are the most affordable and are popular among gamers because they offer fast pixel response times and refresh rates. Their biggest drawback? They’re prone to color shifting when viewed from an angle.
Vertical alignment (VA) screens are known for their high native contrast ratios, robust colors, and ability to display deep blacks, but they’re also known to produce noticeable ghosting effects or blur fast-moving images, which can hurt gaming performance. It depends on the model, which is where reading PCMag’s and other reviews comes in.
In-plane switching (IPS) panels provide superb all-around color quality, strong grayscale performance, and wide viewing angles, but they can’t match the fast pixel response of TN panels and are subject to motion artifacts. They’re the best general-use monitor type, but discriminating gamers or competitive esports types may want to avoid IPS. This changed in 2019, however, when LG developed a new variation (dubbed Fast IPS, Rapid IPS, and Nano IPS by various manufacturers) that claims 1-millisecond gray-to-gray response time with overdrive turned on. These panels use a thin layer of nanoparticles applied to the backlight that enables wider color-gamut coverage and reduces response time, a combo that now makes Fast IPS the dominant choice for almost every midrange and premium gaming monitor. If you have room in your budget, Fast IPS monitors currently offer the best balance of gaming performance and image quality.
Organic light-emitting diode (OLED) and Quantum Dot OLED (QD-OLED) panels are the latest to arrive to the gaming display party, and also one of the most anticipated. OLED tech has been a staple in HDTV sets since 2018 or so, but it wasn’t until 2021 that the first OLED TV/monitor hybrids in LG’s C series gained traction. The same design also made it into the Alienware 55 OLED, a monitor we marked down for its minimal brightness and overall HDR performance. Most recently, though, Samsung has spiced up the competition with Dell’s help, launching the Editors’ Choice award-winning Alienware 34 QD-OLED. This ultrawide, curved QD-OLED panel is both less expensive and faster than the Alienware 55 and brings QD-OLED into the gaming-panel conversation right out of the gate.
Because TN, VA, IPS, and OLED each have their pros and cons, we recommend looking at samples of each at your local electronics mega-mart if possible. That way, you can get an idea of their “feel” (visually speaking) and learn which compromises matter the least to you. Also bear in mind that not all panels of a given type are created equal, so seeing the actual monitor you’re considering in person is always desirable.
Pixel Response, Input Lag, and Refresh Rate: Judging the Right Numbers
Gaming monitors should have a fast pixel response time and a high refresh rate, the latter commensurate with the frame rates your PC can push. (More on that in a moment.)
The most commonly used pixel response spec is gray-to-gray, which is measured in milliseconds (ms) and signifies the time it takes a pixel to transition from one shade of gray to another. (A few companies still use the older black-to-white measurement.) A fast pixel response will help eliminate smearing of moving images and provide a smoother overall picture. A gray-to-gray response of 2ms or less is ideal, but even a 4ms gray-to-gray response is usually adequate for single-player gaming.
(Credit: Chris Stobing)
Input lag is another important factor to consider when buying your next gaming monitor, especially for competitive players. Input lag refers to the amount of time it takes for an action (such as keypress or mouse click) to be reflected onscreen. Since the middle of 2019, we’ve been testing all gaming monitors using the HDFury 4K Diva(Opens in a new window) and consider any screens that score below 5ms to be a good fit for players who rely on lightning-quick reflexes to best their opponents.
Then there’s refresh rate. A monitor’s refresh rate refers to the number of times per second it can redraw the entire screen, measured in hertz (Hz). Most standard LCD monitors (including older gaming panels) have a peak refresh rate of 60Hz, which means the screen is refreshed or redrawn 60 times per second. Fast-moving images may appear blurry at this rate, or the panel may suffer from screen tearing, an artifact that occurs when the monitor displays misaligned pieces of two or more screen draws at once. (This can be alleviated by a synchronization technique called variable refresh rate, more about which in a moment.)
(Credit: Chris Stobing)
The trend in gaming panels over the last couple of years is toward refresh rates substantially higher than 60Hz. The most common increments we see today in so-called high-refresh-rate gaming displays are 75Hz, 120Hz, and 144Hz. But models with 240Hz, 360Hz, and up to 500Hz and even greater are now available.
Most of the 240Hz panels we’ve seen peak at 1080p resolution, with 1440p and 4K panels topping out at 165Hz and 144Hz respectively. This is due to the throughput limitations of the two most popular cable technologies, HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort 1.4b. This should start to change as the faster HDMI 2.1 spec becomes more widespread, but that could take a while since we only saw the first instance of HDMI 2.1 in a gaming graphics card with Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 3080 and subsequent RTX 30 series cards.
(Credit: Kyle Cobian)
Games that run at frame rates higher than 60 frames per second (fps) can benefit from one of these monitors. The higher refresh rate can show motion more fluidly when in sync. Esports players who specialize in games that aren’t especially demanding in terms of 3D rendering (and therefore run at very high frame rates) will especially want to take note.
Just because you have a high refresh rate, however, doesn’t guarantee your gaming graphics will be free of tearing and artifacts. That leads us to the other big PC-centric trends in late-model gaming monitors: Nvidia’s G-Sync and AMD’s FreeSync.
G-Sync and FreeSync: Technologies in Flux
The newest gaming monitors use synchronization technology to help reduce tearing and other motion artifacts while lowering input lag. Displays equipped with Nvidia’s G-Sync or AMD’s FreeSync technology hand off control of the display’s refresh rate to the graphics card or graphics processing unit (instead of the monitor), which lets the display operate at a variable refresh rate (VRR) matching what the card is capable of pushing at any given moment. The result is a smooth gaming experience with decreased input lag and no tearing. Note, however, that G-Sync and FreeSync monitors require a compatible graphics card with a DisplayPort 1.2 or HDMI 2.0/2.1 output (an Nvidia card for G-Sync or AMD card for FreeSync).
(Credit: Molly Flores)
The latest FreeSync version, FreeSync Premium Pro, has the same basic aim as earlier FreeSync versions—synchronizing the frame rate of the signal from a compatible AMD graphics card with the refresh rate of the monitor—but adds HDR support, low input lag (i.e., latency), and support for low-frame-rate compensation. The last is the ability to sync the frame rate of a GPU with that of a monitor even when the GPU falls below the display’s minimum frame rate.
Users of FreeSync monitors can also turn on G-Sync in the Nvidia driver software in some monitors(Opens in a new window). The results may vary, but in essence, owners of FreeSync panels can now try out VRR with an Nvidia rather than AMD graphics card. That should mean less or no screen tearing, ghosting, and other artifacts during variable-refresh-rate gameplay, as well as support for a wide range of refresh rates (for example, 60Hz to 144Hz) according to the monitor’s specifications. Certain models at the link above are labeled as G-Sync Compatible. Where supported, you can try to switch G-Sync on from the Nvidia software control panel and see if, and how well, its adaptive sync works.
(Credit: Molly Flores)
G-Sync has gotten more complicated in another way, too. The addition of the G-Sync Compatible category brings Nvidia’s number of monitor compatibility levels to three. G-Sync Compatible is the lowest tier. Next are monitors that meet Nvidia’s traditional G-Sync standards, containing specialized circuitry to support the standard; they’ve passed some 300 image-quality tests and are capable of operating over the full VRR range.
The top tier is G-Sync Ultimate, which bolsters the G-Sync standards with high-end features such as extreme luminance (1,000 nits) and a refresh rate of at least 144Hz.
HDR: Why It Matters in Gaming Monitors
High dynamic range (HDR) technology isn’t just for making movies and TV shows look good. It can also turn a dimly lit, washed-out game into something vibrant and full of contrast, with sharply defined edges around every part of the environment. You can find multiple levels of HDR in gaming monitors right now, ranging from DisplayHDR 400 up to DisplayHDR 1600. (There are also True Black levels for OLED monitors.)The figure refers to the number of nits or the brightness level at which the display should be capable of maxing out.
But while there are plenty of HDR 4K monitors to choose from these days, Windows’ implementation of HDR is still, well, lacking. If it ever works the way it’s supposed to, apps that are compatible with Windows (those from the Windows App Store seem to offer better HDR compatibility than those found outside that ecosystem) will get the HDR treatment, as will the operating system itself.
(Credit: Molly Flores)
While many gaming consoles, including ones in the Xbox and PlayStation lines, deliver flawless HDR in almost all their games, the PC still lags behind in terms of the number of game titles and monitors that support HDR.How well the tech is implemented varies on a case-by-case basis. That said, when done well, HDR adds a striking aspect to gameplay.
In testing at PC Labs, we’ve found DisplayHDR 400 is generally sufficient to get a nice visual effect, but the DisplayHDR 1000 and 1600 specs take the technology to an entirely new level.
Is a Gaming Monitor Also Good for Content Creation? How to Know
When we test monitors for their gaming capabilities, we also look at what they can do in general-use cases like watching movies or browsing the web, as well as how accurately they can reproduce color in a number of chromaticity tests.
(Credit: PCMag)
The sRGB color gamut or palette acts like a baseline for how content on the internet will appear, while DCI-P3 is a measure of how well a monitor does at reproducing the color spectrum most often used for movies and TV shows. For still rather than motion images, there’s also the Adobe RGB gamut, which measures how well a monitor does at reproducing accurate color in professional content editing software such as Adobe Photoshop when preparing art to be printed.
Color accuracy is also measured via a figure known as Delta E, which expresses the distance between, say, the theoretical most accurate orange and the orange that you see on screen. If you want to watch (or produce) a lot of movies on your gaming monitor, its percentage of DCI-P3 coverage should be your top concern; the Delta E, sRGB, and Adobe RGB numbers are the priority for creators who work in photography, 3D design, game production, modeling, or other creative fields where color accuracy is paramount.
What Ports Should a Gaming Monitor Have?
A gaming monitor should be equipped with a variety of video inputs, so you can connect it to a variety of PCs and gaming consoles. Dual HDMI ports are ideal, since the major game consoles use HDMI, while most high-end graphics cards released in recent years offer DisplayPort and HDMI 2. 1 connectivity. The older DVI connector has all but died out, though you may still see it in budget hardware.
(Credit: Molly Flores)
USB ports on a monitor are also a nice feature, as they make it easy to connect gaming controllers, mice, flash drives, and other external peripherals. You can often charge handheld devices by plugging them into a USB port. Side-mounted USB ports make it easier to plug and unplug peripherals than ones located on the back of the display.
A powerful speaker system with a built-in subwoofer will enhance your gaming experience and save desktop space, and a stand with height, tilt, and swivel adjustments offers ergonomic comfort for all-night frag-a-thons. That said, if you tend to game with a gaming headset, a conveniently situated USB port might be more useful than middling built-in speakers.
Finally, there’s RGB lighting. While some shoppers can’t stand the stuff (to this writer’s eyes, it washes out the game visuals on screen), plenty of gamers like to sync their gaming monitor with other RGB-illuminated components such as their PC case, graphics card, or memory modules. (Heck, you can even find RGB solid-state drives these days.)
Some of the software utilities that can sync your monitor to the rest of your RGB setup include Asus Aura Sync(Opens in a new window), Acer DisplayWidget(Opens in a new window), and MSI Mystic Light(Opens in a new window), as well as Alienware’s Command Center. More advanced options like SteelSeries’ GameSense work in tandem with some monitors to display in-game information like your ammo and health levels via RGB LED strips on the monitor. The number of GameSense-compatible games and apps is limited, but it’s a neat look into a possible future of functional, not just decorative, RGB bling.
So, Which Gaming Monitor Should I Buy?
Screen size, panel technology, and features will determine how much you’ll pay for a gaming monitor. You can snag a 24-inch model with TN technology and a fast gray-to-gray pixel response time for under $200, but you won’t get much in the way of features or brilliant image quality. Expect to pay more than $200 if you want a higher-than-60Hz refresh rate and some subset of perks, such as an adjustable stand, a USB hub, multiple digital video inputs, and either G-Sync Compatible or FreeSync support.
A full-blown 27-inch gaming monitor with all the bells and whistles, including G-Sync or FreeSync and a Nano IPS display, can cost north of $500, while a 34-inch UHD monitor will run you more than $700. If you’re looking for a big-screen, ultrawide monitor with a curved panel, plan on spending even more.

High technologies have firmly entered our everyday life. We are only seeing the tip of the iceberg, because the level of computerization is much higher than we think. Today, most people have fairly powerful and productive smartphones, and there are cars at home that are even more capable.
Despite the fact that the age of desktop computers is already beginning to end, still many people continue to use them. To work with such a device was as comfortable as possible, you need to choose the right monitor. In addition, there are separate groups of people who cannot do without a high-quality image – they include lovers of a beautiful picture when watching a movie or while playing a game on a computer, artists, designers, editors, and so on.
Unfortunately, most people buy monitors without paying attention to their key features. The principle “like it or not” applies here, but it’s better to delve into this issue so that you don’t regret your purchase in the future. We decided to start our today’s review of the best computer monitors of the year by considering the main qualities that will somehow influence the choice of this product.
Rating summary: (hide/show)
The main points related to choosing a monitor
First of all, you should consider how far from the eyes the device will be located – depending on this, the diagonal, which is the key parameter of such equipment, will be selected. It is not very convenient to work with a small monitor, and on a large one you will have to spend time searching for the desired element. The type of matrix is selected depending on the tasks that will be assigned to the device.
Resolution and pixel size is a very important parameter. Today, most models are available with support for Full HD, 4K, QuadHD. The larger the viewing angle, the better. Inexpensive products are characterized by low performance in this area, as a result of which the picture can be greatly distorted and change colors even with a small change in viewing angle. Before buying, you should look at the working monitor from all sides.
The connection port, in principle, is not very important, since in most cases a number of adapters come with the device, but if you are not a fan of unnecessary connections, then it is advisable to immediately check the connectors on the monitor and system unit. The refresh rate of the picture is different – from 40 Hz and higher. Ordinary users will be quite satisfied with the minimum value, designers and gamers will have to choose a higher indicator, for example, 120 Hz. Too frequent updating of the image is useless, since the effect of this will not be noticeable, and you will have to decently overpay for the function.
The monitor always comes with a stand. It is desirable that it can be adjusted in height and angle of inclination. With it, you can adjust the position of the monitor so that it is directly in front of your eyes. We have selected 9 of the best monitors – three in each category. Compiling this rating, we took into account not only the opinion of users and professionals, but also the ratio of price and quality. For each model, we have collected as much information as possible to make it easy for you to choose the most suitable product for yourself. So, let’s move on to the very rating of monitors.

Beautiful and stylish appearance, not striking;
High resolution for its price and diagonal;
Mac compatible;
Built-in speakers.

1. ASUS VX239H
Among monitors with a diagonal of small dimensions, this model is characterized by excellent color reproduction – this is noted in the reviews of both professionals and ordinary users. The appearance is quite interesting – the design has a black plastic case, the screen has no frames, which allows the model to look not too flashy, the design style is calm. All control buttons are located on the bottom of the monitor on the right side. At first glance, it may seem that they are hardware, but upon closer examination it becomes clear that they are still touch-sensitive. They are slightly convex, so they are easily detected by touch. All pictograms indicating what function each of the buttons performs are applied in dark gray paint, so they will not be evident. The stand has a round shape, the display is mounted on it using a special rigid leg, but you can only adjust the angle of inclination, rotation and height changes are not provided here. On the bottom of the stand there are six anti-slip rubberized stands at once, so the model can be installed even on a not quite flat surface. Users note the excellent stability of the stand.

Build quality is excellent, no squeaks or backlashes;
Decent brightness;
Reasonable price;
A pair of built-in speakers, but they are rather weak.

3.
Samsung C27F591FDI
This is one of the latest developments of this famous company, it is equipped with a diagonal of 27 inches and a curved SVA type matrix with an aspect ratio of 16:9. In addition, this model is equipped with LED lighting around the perimeter. The design has quite a decent speaker system, which includes two stereo speakers, each with a power of 5 watts. The stand is standard, it allows you to change the angle of the screen, it will not be possible to adjust its height. The design is quite modern, the model has no frame, it looks very attractive and prestigious. The monitor is housed in a glossy white or silver matte plastic case. The matrix is semi-matte with anti-reflective coating. Manufacturers of modern monitors use such matrices more and more often, as they can significantly reduce the crystal effect.
Working on this monitor is very comfortable, largely due to the wide viewing angle, and a slight curve allows you to get the effect of immersion in what is happening on the screen, which is preferred by gamers. The resolution is in Full HD format, however, according to user reviews, for a monitor with such a diagonal, it may not be enough from time to time. The image response is 4 ms. The entire color space operates in the extended sRGB gamut. On the back side there are several types of video inputs – HDMI, VGA, DisplayPort. This solution is very convenient, since you do not have to pick up all sorts of adapters to connect the monitor to your computer.
Advantages:
Immersive curved shape;
Decent sound system;
Increased color range.
Disadvantages:
It is not possible to adjust the height of the monitor.
Samsung C27F591FDI
2. BenQ GW2765HT
This is one of the most popular models with a similar diagonal, as it has very high performance and reasonable cost. The model looks quite strictly – it will fit well into the interior of a serious office. Made on the basis of the AHVA matrix, which is a more advanced type of IPS, has a WLED backlight. The base is a regular circle, it has only a platform for connection with the monitor leg. Due to the thoughtful design, the monitor stands steadily on the table, much better than the model with a rectangular stand. The leg has the ability to adjust in height in the range of 0-13 cm, the angle of inclination can be changed from -5 to +20 degrees, there is a swivel mechanism.
This monitor has been manufactured using the most advanced technology. One of the most useful today is AMA – it greatly reduces the trail left by moving objects. Another useful feature is Flicker-Free, which prevents the monitor from flickering regardless of the brightness level, which greatly reduces eye strain. You can spend much more time behind such a monitor. Dynamic Contrast automatically adjusts the brightness and contrast level of the monitor to the image displayed on the screen.
Advantages:
Extremely stable construction despite its large dimensions;
Quality build;
Long service life;
Many additional useful features.
Disadvantages:
Over time, individual pixels may begin to burn out, which will greatly affect image quality.

1. Dell U2913WM
Despite the fact that this model has been on the market for several years, it still holds leading positions in most reviews of the best monitors of this year with this diagonal. The point here is not only in the ideal ratio of price and quality, but also in the clarity of the picture, which fans of computer games, professional designers and even the most ordinary users who need a PC for everyday work can appreciate. The diagonal of the model is decent – as much as 29inches All video files recorded in high quality, as it is now fashionable, will be displayed without black bars. Due to the large diagonal, the workspace is greatly increased, which allows you to display up to three windows at the same time or run several applications in streaming mode at once. This will be very useful for people who work with large amounts of data.
Despite the fact that this model is made on the basis of a not particularly well-known IPS-type matrix, which is produced by LG Display. The resolution is 2560×1080 pixels with the original aspect ratio of 21:9, along the perimeter there is an LED backlight. The design of the monitor is frameless, the control is carried out by several physical buttons – the manufacturer preferred them, rather than the touch keys that are fashionable today. The sweep frequency is 60 Hz – enough for both work and gaming. Another interesting point is the presence of a USB 3.0 port.
Advantages:
Unusual aspect ratio;
Large variety of interfaces;
Universal frequency 60 Hz.
Faults:
Backlight becomes uneven over time.

The best gaming monitors
3. AOC G2770PF
The appearance of this monitor does not betray its belonging to the gaming models. The adjustment of the screen position here is moderate – it deviates back by 5 degrees, forward by 25, if necessary, you can adjust the height position in the range of 13 cm. There are quite a lot of connectors on the rear panel – DVI, DisplayPort, HDMI with MHL and D-Sub connectivity. In addition to them, there are four USB connectors on the back side – two 2.0 and 3.0 each, one of them is designed for charging mobile devices such as phones, tablets, players, and so on.
The diagonal of the model is 27 inches, the monitor is based on a TN matrix with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. For this screen size, this is the highest figure. The picture quality is very high, the colors are bright and saturated, it is almost impossible to distinguish from natural ones. The operating frequency is 144 Hz when the maximum settings are set, but in this case it will have to be connected to the computer via DP or DVI Dual Link connectors. The Flicker Free function is provided, which, when activated, reduces the level of monitor flicker.
Benefits:
Excellent factory color calibration, even the smallest skin tones are reproduced perfectly;
Eyes practically do not get tired behind such a monitor;

1.
DELL S2716DG
This is an ideal option for people who love computer games, although it is difficult to say that such a monitor is a design designed specifically for games. The plastic body is a good combination of matte and glossy surfaces, which give the model even more style. The design is frameless – in the off state, the front side of the monitor looks like a flat monolithic surface, and in the on state, the frame width is quite insignificant – about 7 mm. The layout of all connectors is well thought out: they are located in a special recess at the bottom of the rear panel, so all the wires will be directed downwards. Among them are HDMI, DisplayPort, audio output and USB with two 3.0 ports. It is possible to mount the monitor on the wall.
The design is based on a fairly fast TFT TN matrix, which provides a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels. The screen diagonal is 27 inches with a refresh rate of 144 Hz, in addition, the monitor supports G-Sync. Due to it, the frame transfer is almost instantaneous, and all modern games look just great. The monitor has an anti-reflective coating. Juicy colors will not let your eyes get tired even after many hours of continuous play.
Benefits:
Excellent gaming performance ahead of its time;
Excellent image quality;
Extended viewing angles;
Excellent build quality;
Nice design.
Disadvantages:
Price.

In conclusion, an interesting video
Well, our review of the best computer monitors in 2023 is drawing to a close. If you still have any questions or you decide to share your experience in purchasing and operating a similar device, then welcome to comment on this article.
LCD monitor overview: A clear picture for the gamer
Monitors based on IPS and MVA matrices are becoming more and more popular and are successfully crowding out TN models. Moreover, the difference in price, if you choose the latter, is not as great as we would like. However, despite a number of disadvantages of such devices, enthusiastic gamers prefer them because they are characterized by a high response rate of matrices.
Manufacturers are happy to try – they offer a whole line of devices aimed specifically at gamers. Adding fuel to the fire is the recent appearance on the market of affordable 4K format models that also use TN matrices. In this review, we will look at six such devices.
Samsung U28D590
The orientation of this device is simple – it is released for gamers and for those who need an ultra-detailed 4K picture, and at a relatively affordable price.
The device uses a 28-inch matrix based on TN technology. It is capable of displaying a picture with a resolution of 3840 × 2160 pixels. Let’s make a reservation right away, if most of Samsung’s advanced products use branded LCD panels, then in this model the situation is the opposite.
The device looks quite good, its front part is finished with glossy plastic. The case itself, by modern standards, can hardly be called thin. A fairly compact external power supply is used. The LCD panel is matte, so it collects glare to a minimum. The monitor stand looks great – although it is narrow, it nevertheless provides good stability. On the rear panel there is one multifunctional button responsible for calling up the menu and working with the settings. By the way, it is well implemented and easy to use.
The viewing angles of this model are standard for TN-matrices – traditionally wide horizontally and narrowed vertically. Since the device is aimed at gamers, the reaction time of the pixels here is quite high, it reaches 1 ms. The color rendition tends towards cold tones.
Anyone who is concerned about purchasing such a monitor will also have to think about a modern high-performance graphics card, because when outputting an Ultra HD picture, the load on it is noticeably higher, which means that additional computing power will be required. The monitor has only HDMI (2x) and DisplayPort interfaces. Moreover, using the first one, you can display a picture only with a frame scan of 30 Hz, while using the second one it happens at 60 Hz.
Using a device with a maximum picture resolution is justified only for entertainment, watching movies and games – the image is not bad. Movies, even in standard quality, look acceptable due to the fact that there is an image processing function. But working with it is not so comfortable – the fonts are quite small and you have to look closely if you want to see something. And it’s not even the monitor itself, but the lack of adequate 4K support from the Windows operating system itself.
Dell P2815Q
Dell has also provided us with a 4K-capable model that is aimed primarily at gamers.
Device Dell P2815Q has a stylish and strict design. In the design used plastic silver and black. The matte 28-inch panel is framed by a fairly narrow bezel. The stand allows you to tilt the monitor, adjust the height, and change the screen orientation. To improve the design, a hole has been made in it through which all kinds of data wires can be passed. The stand, which has a fairly wide base and considerable weight, provides good stability. The control buttons are placed on the right side of the display. And although there are no inscriptions on them, it is still quite convenient to use them, thanks to the logical organization of the menu. All settings necessary for work are provided, however, in addition to manual ones, there are also a number of presets for solving typical user tasks. Their implementation must be considered quite successful.
This model can be used as a USB hub – there are several USB 3.0 standard connectors at once. There are surprisingly many connection interfaces here. All entrances are shallow recessed into a special niche.
The matrix response time is 5 ms. In dynamic games, there are no problems.
This device traditionally uses LED backlighting, a thin screen and a built-in power supply.
The display has an average margin of brightness and contrast. Running games and watching movies is quite comfortable, and the black color looks good. But the noise suppression system does not always successfully cope with its duties. Viewing angles are common for TN-matrices: traditionally good horizontally and narrowed vertically, especially if you look at the display from below. Color rendition tends to warm tones.
ViewSonic VX2880ml
ViewSonic keeps up with advanced competitors. It also has an inexpensive 4K display in its arsenal. Model VX2880ml is equipped with a 28-inch TN-matrix with a resolution of 3840×2160 pixels. The thickness of the monitor here is somewhat greater than that of competitors. However, the device looks quite elegant. For example, a curly stand immediately catches your eye. And although it is not very functional, since it only allows you to change the angle of the panel relative to the table surface, it still provides good stability. The build quality is high – we did not notice any gaps between the parts.
The menu controls are located at the bottom of the screen, there are no complaints about the quality of their work. The model has a built-in speaker system that allows you to output sound at an acceptable volume.
The menu of the device is made in the style familiar to ViewSonic, but this model does not have too many settings. There are several settings that optimize color reproduction and backlight brightness depending on the needs of the user.
By the way, it is possible to hang the monitor on the wall, but the vertically narrowed viewing angles typical for TN matrices are unlikely to give pleasure when watching movies. The margin of brightness is relatively small. The color gamut is quite standard for matrices of this type, and the color reproduction is slightly shifted to the warm region. The response time is 5 ms, in dynamic games there are no characteristic tails. The quality of the implementation of the backlight can be estimated at four with a minus.
Iiyama GE2488HS-B1
The display has a screen with a diagonal of 24 inches and an aspect ratio of 16:9. The matrix used is based on TN technology.
The monitor resolution is quite standard – 1920 × 1080 pixels. The response time of the matrix is 1 ms.
For decoration, the manufacturer used black textured plastic. The LCD panel itself is matte, so there is practically no glare on the surface.
The stand used is quite stable, in its lower part there are rubberized inserts that prevent slipping. It does not differ in functionality, only the tilt of the LCD panel can be adjusted. If desired, the monitor can be easily hung on the wall, but the mounts for this will have to be purchased separately.
The pluses of the model include the presence of built-in speakers and a headphone output.
The internal menu is well designed, there are quite enough adjustments. There are also settings for solving basic user tasks that optimize color reproduction and brightness. Often this is convenient, you do not need to climb the menu and look for the necessary settings, although they are not ideal. Menu control – push-button, implemented quite well. Of the connection connectors, there are analog D-Sub and digital DVI-D, as well as HDMI. The disadvantages include a noticeable uneven illumination. The black color lacks a bit of depth.
BenQ XL2720T
The creation of BenQ is focused primarily on gamers. Designed to work with the second generation NVIDIA 3DVision system, which will have to be purchased separately, it provides image output at a frequency of 120 Hz and a resolution of 1920 × 1080 pixels. The display has a diagonal of 27 inches. The matrix of this model is made according to the usual TN technology, and therefore, provides a short response time – 1 ms.
It has an acceptable margin for brightness and contrast. Dynamic scenes in games are worked out clearly and without delay.
Viewing angles correspond to the declared. Even small fonts look good. Color rendition tends to warm tones. When viewing voluminous content, there is a feeling that the device is slightly lacking in brightness margin. The speed of the response time does not cause any complaints. In 3D mode, ghosting is almost invisible.
ASUS VG278HR
Like the competitive model manufactured by BenQ, this device from ASUS is aimed at those who love 3D computer games. But to many, its price may seem overpriced. The display is based on a fast TN-matrix with a diagonal of 27 inches. However, when buying it, the user receives a second generation 3D Vision system, with shutter glasses. But to work with it, you will have to make sure that the PC has a modern video card. The signal synchronizer is already built into the monitor, which, of course, is convenient. Unlike competitor BenQ XL2720T, here the maximum refresh rate is 144 Hz. In 3D mode, the image is bright and without any noticeable ghosting.
The design of this model is strict, outwardly it does not differ too much from less expensive ones. The use of glossy plastic, in our opinion, is not very practical. The stand has several degrees of freedom, so you can adjust the tilt and height of the LCD panel, as well as turn it around the vertical axis. To give greater stability to the entire structure, it is equipped with a weighting agent. It should be noted that this massive device is inconvenient to move – it clearly lacks a carrying handle.
The menu is well designed, there are a lot of settings in it. By the way, the factory settings are quite acceptable. But viewing angles are common for TN matrices: traditionally good horizontally and narrowed vertically, especially when looking at the display from below.
