How to charge your Samsung Chromebook and get the best battery life
With their powerful yet light design and long-lasting battery, Chromebooks are made for the everyday grind. You can take them almost anywhere on a single charge. However, if your Chromebook does need some battery power, charging it is simple. With such an innovative product that has a one of a kind screen, here are some helpful hints to get the best performance out of your device.
Note: As a safety precaution, the battery will stop charging if the temperature gets too high.
Note: Make sure to fully charge the battery before using the Chromebook for the first time.
When your Chromebook needs a charge, just plug in the included charging cable. Remember, you can use the Chromebook while it’s charging, but this may increase the charging time. Also, make sure you are using the proper charging cable to prevent damage.
Connect the power cable to the charging port on the side of the Chromebook. If your Chromebook has a USB-C charger, you can use any USB-C port.
Connect the AC adapter to a power outlet.
When the battery is fully charged, the power LED will turn green. Disconnect the power cable from the Chromebook.
If you aren’t sure if your Chromebook is fully charged, just look at the Power LED which shows the device’s battery status.
Red: The battery is charging.
Green: The battery is fully charged.
Blue: The Chromebook is powered on.
You can also check the battery life in the status bar on screen, along with the estimated time it will take until it’s fully charged.
Even with an amazing battery, your Chromebook’s battery life will vary based on your usage. For example, it will drain faster if you’re always playing games or watching movies compared to if you are casually looking up something on the internet.
Here are some general tips for prolonging the battery, no matter what you’re doing:

Need a replacement Chromebook charger? These are your best choices
Edgar Cervantes / Android Authority
Chromebooks offer all-day battery life, and they run on Google’s light and fast Chrome OS. However, even the best batteries hit zero eventually, so you’ll want a trusty charger handy. If your current charger shows some wear or you’ve lost it, it is time to upgrade. Here are some of the best Chromebook replacement chargers you can pick up right now.

Many Chromebook manufacturers have historically used unique connections, so there aren’t many universal options. However, USB-C is becoming the preference of most newer models. This is why we also added a section with universal chargers, for those with older Chromebooks that don’t use USB-C
The best replacement Chromebook chargers:
Acer Chromebook charger
ASUS Chromebook charger
HP Chromebook charger
Samsung Chromebook charger
Dell Chromebook charger
Universal Chromebook chargers
Note: This list can be a bit confusing as some newer models rely on USB-C charging, while others use a DC plug. Double-check your Chromebook carefully before you order!
Acer Chromebook charger
Nearly all Acer Chromebooks, and some Windows-powered Acer laptops, use a 65W charger. As a result, chargers are very easy to find and easily affordable. Most have also migrated to USB-C charging, making charging any device with this charger very convenient.
An official charger from Acer is expensive and hard to find, but this third-party option from Yenyho will do the trick.
ASUS Chromebook charger
The ASUS 45W N45W-C1 Adapter is suitable for charging most ASUS Chromebooks that juice up via USB-C, which includes most released in the last couple of years. Even the most powerful ASUS gaming Chromebooks charge at 45W, so spending more on faster ones is unnecessary. Unless you want to, that is. In which case, it also offers a really nice 65W option that is smaller and looks better. It’s also much pricier, though.
HP Chromebook charger
Most HP Chromebooks charge at 45W speeds, but the company has something very special if you’re looking for a replacement charger. It is slimmer, has a great design, and even sports a braided cable. To sweeten the deal, it also supports charging speeds of up to 65W. Most modern HP Chromebooks now support USB-C, which is the port this charger uses. This means you can use it with more power-hungry devices and any other tablet or smartphone.
Samsung Chromebook charger
Samsung’s replacement Chromebook charger comes from Superer, and it even features an extra-long 10-foot cable. It’s pretty powerful, with a max output of 65W, but it works with modern Samsung Chromebooks, such as the Galaxy Chromebook 2 and Galaxy Chromebook 2 360.
Dell Chromebook charger
If you have a Dell Chromebook and need to replace your charger, you won’t find a better option than this one. The Dell Slim Power Adapter can juice up your Chromebooks at up to 45W, looks excellent, and has a long meter cable. You can upgrade to the 65W or 130W versions if you want something much faster.
Universal Chromebook chargers
These last two replacement Chromebook charger options are the most convenient and flexible options. Because they connect using a variety of swappable port tips that can accommodate far more than just Chromebooks. You can even use them to charge other electronics, such as small appliances, routers, and more.

ASUS 90W Universal Adapter
Those looking for a universal charger for DC plug-powered Chromebooks likely won’t find anything nicer than the ASUS 90W Universal Adapter. It is small and portable, but can charge devices at up to 90W. You also get three swappable DC plugs that measure 4mm, 4.5mm, and 5.5mm. This should cover most Chromebook users. It’s pricey, though.
ZOZO 90W AC Laptop Charger
If you want to spend much less on a replacement Chromebook charger, and also want a wide variety of DC plugs, it’s hard to beat the ZOZO 90W AC Laptop Charger. It comes with 16 interchangeable tips! Not to mention it has a max output of 90W, which is plenty powerful for most laptops, not just Chromebooks. It has well over six thousand reviews on Amazon, averaging at 4.4 stars, so we know plenty of people like it.

FAQs
Chromebooks can struggle to charge for any number of reasons. You’ll want to ensure that there is no dirt in your charger or Chromebook and that you’ve plugged the charger firmly into your outlet.
It depends — both your Chromebook and phone need to have USB-C ports. Manufacturer-specific chargers with DC ports will not work with your phone. Also, depending on your charger and Chromebook, you may get slow charging speeds, or they may not work together at all.
If both your Chromebook and smartphone have USB-C ports, this doesn’t always mean you can use your phone charger to charge your Chromebook. Your phone charger may charge a Chromebook really slowly. That said, some devices now come with fast charging that can hit 45W and more. If you have one of these chargers, it should work on a Chromebook as long as it supports at least those speeds.
This is a bit of a tricky answer. If you don’t have an outlet handy, you can always try using a power bank or a car charger. If your Chromebook has a USB-C port but doesn’t use it primarily for charging, you can go to the Power menu and select to charge via USB-C.
Well, you can’t charge your Chromebook faster than the speeds it supports, though you can do several things to extend your battery life and charge less often. It may help lower the brightness, turn off Bluetooth, and remove peripherals like a wired mouse. That said, you can make sure you maximize fast charging speeds by making sure you have a charger with speeds that are equal or higher than what the Chromebook supports.

Thanks for the charger for my laptop! Everything works great. I’ll say one thing about Tech Cons – well done! Responsive and intelligent managers, convenient location of the store, quality goods. Before that, I took a charge for the tablet (the cat grabbed it). Charges without issue. All the best to you!

I bought a battery and charger for an office laptop. They were able to deliver to work until 13 the next day after my order. The courier was so kind – he helped to unpack everything, connected it, checked it. Service on top! Thanks a lot!

We bought a charger and a battery with delivery for an old Samsung 300e5c. I asked to deliver the next day to work before 18. As a result, the goods were received before 15, I checked it on the spot, the courier did not grumble, politely waited until my elderly computer turned on. Hope it lasts another year or two. Thank you!

Nowhere could I find a power supply for my Samsung laptop. A power supply with a thin connector, either defective, or simply not suitable. In general, the wire did not hold in the laptop socket. I found Tech Cons on the Internet, called, asked how it was with the connector? They said there were no complaints. I arrived, they checked everything – it really sits tightly in the nest. As they say, whoever seeks will always find. Thanks a lot. I wish you success!
Julia
Lost charger from Samsung laptop. First I turned to the service center, they turned down the price of one-fourth of the cost of the laptop itself. A friend advised me to look online. That’s actually how I bought a new power supply much cheaper than what was offered in the service, plus everything at a discounted price. Thanks for the reasonable prices.

For type of film, surprisingly good
For a movie filmed with a relatively small purse, Mr. Lockhart’s “Triple Crossed” was surprisingly good. These were the nice surprises, to my reckoning: First, unlike too many low-cost films I’ve seen before, the settings here were brightly lit. The scenes were not dull and fuzzy, but sharp and clear, even during night scenes with long shadows. Second, no mike boom slid into the picture frame, or any such A/V or technical blunders. So after a few minutes, I relaxed to enjoy the picture for what it was worth. If you are wanting “Oscar” material, then stay away. However, if you are looking for a suspense drama once in a while, to be amused and entertained, as I do, then you already know pretty much what to look for, and you may find this one is just as good as any other of that type–and better than many of them.
Third, the plot was realistic; intrigues such as those dealt with here have been used in film before, and things like that do happen even in real life. Yet there are enough twists to keep one guessing about the outcome. Who will be “triple-crossed”?
Fourth, the blocking was technically flawless, frankly. The camera seemed to catch the action meant to be caught, and the characters’ positions did not clash with that. There were few, if any, fancy angles or such, nor were any needed for this film. Quite enough was going on in the story that such devices would have been lost here. Too bad though that the view of the valley had not been more panoramic. During the hiking scene, on the ridge, I wanted the camera to swing 180 degrees around to take in that gorgeous landscape of the valley!
Fifth, the script was standard for this genre: no words of wisdom or memorable phrases. But therefore it also wasn’t overwrought, too expository, or “preachy” (thank God!). Overall, I was entertained, and that was the whole point of watching it.

About the film
Courteous, witty, brave, handsome and extremely immoral English safecracker Eddie Chapman takes on the most incredible cases and carries them out with brilliance. He plunders the palaces and castles of wealthy nobles with such ease and ingenuity that it seems that anyone can do the same. He leads a beautiful life of a playboy, communicates with the most exquisite beauties of the Old and New Worlds, squanders money and does not think about the future.
He likes risk and thrills by definition and is not afraid of difficulties and dangers. But the Second World War is on, and a person in such historical conditions cannot fully dispose of himself. The envoy of one of the secret services of the warring states comes to the successful robber Eddie Chapman and makes an offer that cannot be refused…

First issue released on the ”swirl” Vertigo label with big logo above spindle hole and the wording ”Vertigo” below spindle hole and ‘A PHILIPS RECORD PRODUCT’ text. Comes in a gatefold cover and with a ”swirl” inner bag. The gatefold cover is slightly textured compared to later issues and has different upper-case only credits on inner gatefold.
Vertigo inner sleeve reports: ‘MADE IN ENGLAND British Patent No. 800513 & 973939 – PLASTIC BAGS CAN BE DANGEROUS – TO AVOID SUFFOCATION KEEP THOS BAG AWAY FROM BABIES AND CHILDREN’
The first issue (this release) had an erroneous copyright warning stating that “Copyright subsists in all Stereo recordings…”. Subsequent ”swirl” Vertigo reissues corrected copyright warning to “Copyright subsists in all Vertigo recordings…”
The first (this release) and 2nd versions had band member and production credits in capital letters throughout. Subsequent ”swirl” Vertigo reissues changed all credits into upper and lower case and also adds in composition and publishing credits. All issues released on the ”swirl” Vertigo misspell Ozzy Osbourne as Ossie Osborne.

My Black Sabbath CD # is 6006 made in Holland issued on Creative Sounds LTD
I’ve got an olive label misprint variation that doesn’t match anything on here. Reads “All selections written by Tony Ioomi – ….” Runout is ST1 93419 W1 #1 0 ST2 93419 W1 #2 0
Tony “Ioomi” misprint is on both sides of label
In my opinion the definitive pressings of this album are green label WB pressings from 1970. These are arguably the best sounding and even if UK vertigo sounds better, the US press has Wicker World, the infinitely superior track if you ask me. I have a 1985 German NEMS press that sounds fantastic and I got cheap, but I almost never play it cause of Evil Woman.
Edited one year ago
if anyone can help, please dont hesitate! i have a US pressing of the LP on Warner Brothers that i cant find listed here. its a pre-1980s sleeve with no barcode. the labels are the “Burbank” / palm tree version, and the B side has the correct credits for “Warning”. ok, theres many with the labels like this, but the matrix etchings do not match anything entered here. they are as follows- side A= SIDE 1 WS1871(39728-1)#1 [hand etched] O [machine stamped] side B= SIDE 2 WS1871(39729-1)#1 [hand etched] O [machine stamped]
what has me confused is that the machine stamped “O” would indicate a Winchester pressing and the pressing rings match any other record i have from the Capitol Records plant in Winchester,, but nowhere is there any evidence of the —◁ etching in the dead-wax/matrix area that is on every other Winchester pressing i have ever seen or owned. and i cant find any other US pressing entered that has any notes of hand-written matrix etchings with “SIDE 1” or “SIDE 2” included. the labels match many of the other mid-70s US pressings listed here though. and if it matters, i bought this used in the mid-1980s at a shop in my home area of Cleveland Ohio.
anyone who might be able to identify this pressing; or possibly have a similar copy, please let me know. Thank You!!
I have a copy with one side of the album is Black Sabbath but the other side of the album is from Paranoid. Haven’t seen or heard of any others like it. Has anyone seen this before ?
Edited 2 years ago
Black Sabbath’s self-titled debut broke new ground and heralded the inception of heavy metal; adopting a sonic composite of blues, acid and progressive rock genres, the band were the antipode of the flower power generation in that they innovated rather than followed suit. In the 1960s, the hippie culture saw Birmingham become a vessel of musical activity, but it wasn’t until Black Sabbath formed in 1968 that the city’s overt bleakness motivated the birth of a thick and aggressive sound that reflected the reverberating cacophony of factories and steelworks. By absorbing every aspect of their stark environment and perhaps a horror story and film of the same name, Black Sabbath adopted a sinister, ominous image replete with occult themes and nightmarish lyrics; with Ozzy Osbourne at the helm and Tommy Iommi’s signature slackened down-tuned guitars they would reinvent hard rock. Even now, the band remain synonymous with heavy metal even though their dense, cold sound is far removed from the genre in its current state; their debut is groundbreaking and iconic despite lacking the focus of later albums. Ostensibly, the album is heavy metal, but listening to it contemporaneously leaves no room for doubt that it would now be viewed as a doom metal record, perhaps the greatest.
“Black Sabbath” evokes the darker direction that the band had taken with their music; the titular song utilizes the “Devil’s Interval” to achieve a stark, pervading sense of foreboding, conjuring macabre imagery from the outset, with only “N.I.B.” being equally as unnerving with its raucous Cream-esque riff and theological lyrical emphasis. Such an association with Satanism would result in the album being termed “evil”, “menacing” and “gloomy”, but although the album’s mood is generally unsettling and nihilistic, its reputation as a “demonic-sounding” record would be surpassed much later by Emperor’s utterly malevolent black metal classic “In the Nightside Eclipse”, which is an entirely more disquieting experience consisting of amplified guitars, fantastical lyrics and unintelligible growls assaulting your ears for an hour. “Black Sabbath” is angst-ridden rather than aggressive, and in retrospect, far less disturbing than its pseudo-occult lyrics suggest, but it does succeed in building tension and trippy weirdness.
I would recommend “Paranoid”, which is arguably the most well-known in Black Sabbath’s catalogue, as the best place to start for anyone unfamiliar with their music; this self-titled first outing is more suited to fans of the high wailing vocal tones, slow tempos, and extended guitar solos employed by Witchfinder General and Candlemass.

Easily the best black sabbath album ever. Dont @ me.
I have a copy of the NEMS reissue NEL 6002 and when you open out the gatefold sleeve everything is upside down. So the crucifix is on the left hand side, not inverted, with all the credits etc upside down. Has anyone else ever seen a copy like this?
Hello, I just got a US copy that I can’t seem to identify on here. It has the moss green labels. Matrix info: Side 1: T I WS-1871 39728-1 [artisan logo] Side 2: T I WS-1871 39729-3 [artisan logo] I saw this info with the palm trees label or as it was noted, “burbank” labels. But, my copy just has plain moss green labels. Could it be like a really early press right before they switched to the palm trees label because that’s my best guess.

Black Sabbath is the first studio album, features the female model Louisa Livingstone. The album was recorded in one 8 hour session in October 1969 at Regent Sound Studios. The original European version of the record featured the pre-album single “Evil Woman” as the first track on the B-side while the North American version featured the song “Wicked World” (the B-side to the “Evil Woman” single) as the lead track on the second side of the record. Some current CD versions of the album now feature both tracks.
The North American version also features more song titles than actual songs. These extra titles are often believed to refer to the intros of certain songs:
“Wasp” is believed to refer to the intro of “Behind The Wall Of Sleep”
“Bassically” refers to the bass solo that opens “N.I.B.”.
“A Bit Of Finger” is believed to refer to the acoustic intro of “Sleeping Village”.
North American versions also usually group “Wasp”, “Behind The Wall Of Sleep”, “Bassically”, and “N.I.B.” on one track and “A Bit Of Finger”, “Sleeping Village” and “Warning” on another single track, while European versions separate all the tracks.
First Black Sabbath album in the UK on the iconic Vertigo Swirl label has been issued three times before eventually being reissued on the Spaceship label:
This 1st UK press with large swirl logo and ‘A PHILIPS RECORD PRODUCT’, erroneous ‘Warning’ credits
This 2nd UK press with large swirl logo, correct credits
This 3rd UK press large swirl logo, different label text position and letter register at credits
This 4th UK press small swirl logo and different letter register at credits

Excellent pressing. Clear and dynamic ! Good surprise 🙂 .
THE BASS, WOW! Awesome Fucking Pressing! It’s like I’m hearing these songs for the first time!!

N. I.B. is not instrumental on this release despite the description which I treat as cheat as I bought this release only for instrumental N.I.B.

This sounds really, really good. The mix is fantastic, great bass, really nice instrument separation. The vinyl is quiet, has a warm analog sound even though it’s apparently from a digital source. Love the gatefold, the extra tracks on the 2nd LP are interesting to hear and also sound great, but not sure I’ll listen to them that often. Having a few versions of “Evil Woman” on vinyl is worth it. Great purchase.
From my own copy, the etched runout on side 1 is W 39728-2 TG Q.
This is the third pressing of this amazing album I have owned. It is by far the better sounding of the three pressings. Hopefully one day I’ll score a UK pressings to put it up against.

i feel for the people saying how clear it is. if it’s digitally sourced (from the remastered files for the CD version done in the 90s say) then it’s almost bound to sound clear. the problem is loss, compression, etc. to give an example i just compared the runout “space”? of this and a 1977 version i have and this versions runout space is at least 2X wider. what’s missing is what the computer couldn’t reproduce or was lost in transfer, which happens. bottom line if it’s digital then just buy the CD it’s the same but easier and it’s what the source was meant for (vs vinyl).
Great pressing. Balanced sound that instantly sounded right. This is what I would recommend to someone looking for a good copy
This sounds absolutely excellent! Crisp and powerful, you can tell the original masters were used. I own many, many different pressings of this album and this one will not be leaving the collection any time soon. A great option for anyone!
Always amused by comments that imply coloured vinyl has inferior sound quality to black vinyl. The truth is that black vinyl is also coloured as it contains black pigment. There is no difference in the make up or manufacturing process of coloured vinyl versus standard black vinyl. Only the colour of the pigments in the PVC pellets is different. Clear vinyl is in fact the purest form of vinyl as the pellets are clear before black – or any other colour pigments – are added.

Hits from BLACK SABBATH-2: how were the songs about war pigs, paranoid and iron man written? | Culture
Go to the first part of the article
On the new album, the musicians decided to show that they can write not only stories about black covens, Lucifers, “sleeping villages” and other devilry. The title track of the new record was supposed to be a song under the catchy title “Pigs of War” …
“War Pigs” (1970)
This time, Geezer Butler used the demonic images not literally, but as metaphors for a damning anti-war anthem. He calls the organizers of wars “ death sorcerers-designers” and threatens them with “judgment day “, when the “pigs of war” will crawl on their knees and “beg forgiveness for their sins” , but Satan will still take them to hell . Not even without puns:
Generals gathered in their masses, Just like witches at black masses… but an angry sentence, an evil curse. At the same time, BLACK SABBATH directs their anger not at ordinary soldiers, but, first of all, at politicians and generals.
The politicians are hiding, They just started the war. Why would they go to war themselves? They leave this inheritance to the poor…
Let’s not forget that at that time the US continued the war in Vietnam, and any commoner could fall into it (there was a general conscription in the country until 1973).
Bill Ward: – Then, in the early seventies, we saw veterans coming home. When you go to the airport, you will definitely meet a few soldiers. I know a lot of Vietnam veterans, like BOSTON drummer Sib Hashian. He traveled to Vietnam several times and was an avid SABBATH fan. When we performed “War Pigs” in America, the atmosphere was indescribable, the song was like a homecoming anthem.
The heavy two-chord song was born while the band was jamming at the Hirschen club in Zurich. As a result, it stretched for as much as 8 minutes.
Bill Ward: — When Tony played those powerful War Pigs riffs, I thought, “Great, what should I do?” Then I began to play it in the rhythm of the waltz. I think if I just played the drums, nothing good would come out of the song.
By the way, at first the musicians called the song “Walpurgis” (with a hint of the witches’ sabbath on the so-called Walpurgis night), but the label considered that “Satanism” in the image of SABBATH is already in excess.
“War Pigs” was considered as the main theme and was supposed to give the title to the whole album. The cover also testified to this. It showed blurry pink figures of some warriors wearing police helmets on their heads, but with shields and swords in their hands.
However, literally in the last days of work on the album, the whole concept broke down . ..
“Paranoid” (1970)
At the very end of the studio session it suddenly became clear that the album’s running time was too short. And producer Roger Bain asked the band to write another little song.
No sooner said than done. While the rest of the band went out to buy food, Tony Iommi quickly composed a fast-paced guitar line, perhaps the fastest the band had ever recorded. Ozzy immediately sang a melody to this riff, and Geezer wrote the lyrics from the point of view of a man suffering from depression and gradually losing his mind.
According to Ward, it took the band half an hour to complete everything, including recording!
Translated by Max Terebilov:
I broke up with my girlfriend, Because she couldn’t help me with my sanity. People think I’m crazy, Because I frown all the time… […] Play a joke on me and I’ll be sad, You’ll laugh and I’ll cry. I don’t know how to feel happiness, And love for me is like an invention.
And now that you hear these words, Describing my condition to you, I advise you to enjoy life, I wish I could, but it’s too late for me.
Geezer called the song “Paranoid”, although, according to him, he had a vague idea of the true meaning of this word. After all, paranoia is a disease in which a person is overcome by obsessive thoughts that everyone around wants to do him some harm (for example, take the same persecution mania).
It is said that after the song was recorded, Ozzy finally asked: “Guys, what is paranoid?”
Geezer Butler: – Back then, a lot of people would go around and say, “I’m kinda paranoid today. ” And it sounded cool. In general, with these moods, we recorded this song.
Photo: Disc cover
Hearing this “appendage”, the label immediately realized that BLACK SABBATH had finally recorded a 100% pop hit. “Paranoid” not only decided to publish a single, but also forced the group to name the entire album that way. As Ozzy said, because of this, the pink soldiers on the cover began to look not like “war pigs”, but like some kind of “gay swordsmen” (in fact, the singer put it more intolerantly).
Of course, to call the song “Paranoid” “pop” language just does not turn. Moreover, today she is considered the forerunner of such styles as “punk rock” and “speed-metal”. Nevertheless, the song really became the first commercial hit of the group (in some perestroika film, I heard how “Paranoid” was played at … a disco in a pioneer camp!).
The single hit No. 4 in the UK and BLACK SABBATH landed their first Tops of the Pops broadcast. As for the album, this time it reached the top of the British top, and in the US became No. 12.
The success of the song had its downsides. Ozzy recalled being asked at one of the press conferences: “Is it true that in Paranoid you call for suicide?” The singer began to explain that the main message of the song is in the line “Enjoy life”, but the journalists immediately lost interest and stopped listening to him…
“Iron Man” (1970)
And, of course, one more impressive track from the album “Paranoid” called “Iron Man” cannot be ignored. It sounds, perhaps, the most memorable of all the many riffs invented by Tony Iommi. A riff followed by both Butler’s bass and Osbourne’s vocals in unison. In general, real hard rock in all its virgin purity …
The younger generation probably knows this song, thanks to the 2008 film of the same name with Robert Downey Jr., where it plays in the end credits. Despite this, the content of the song has nothing to do with the Marvel comic book hero. The author of the text – Geezer Butler – grew up in a Catholic family, and as a child he was not allowed to read any comics.
The very idea of the song was suggested by Ozzy Osbourne — it seemed to him that the formidable riff resembled the heavy tread of a huge metal guy. Based on this image, Butler came up with a whole fantastic story.
It told about a man who went into space and saw the Apocalypse that awaits the Earth in the future. Returning home, the hero fell into a magnetic storm and turned into an iron creature that lost the gift of human speech. All attempts to somehow warn earthlings about the impending death met only ridicule from those around them. Unable to withstand such an attitude, the iron man fell into a rage and destroyed humanity, thereby fulfilling his own prophecy.
The song begins with an eerie guitar strum as Ozzy’s distorted robotic voice says “I am iron man!” Some say that this effect was achieved using a “ring modulator” device. Others that it was easier, and Ozzy spoke through the blades of a spinning fan.
“Iron Man” became the band’s biggest musical hit as much as “Paranoid”, and its guitar part is regularly included in the tops of classic rock music riffs.
In The Simpsons, the hooligan Nelson can be seen singing “I’m Iron Man! Vote for me! Come on, come on…” .
A very funny parody of “Iron Man” was recorded in 1993 by Bob Rivers. It was called “I Am Santa Claus” (“I am Santa Claus”). In addition to the new lyrics, Iommi’s famous riff can be heard constantly drifting off to the tune of “Jingle Bells”.
A clip was shot for the song, where the father of the family suddenly turns into a brutal Santa Claus on Christmas Eve, who flies in a limousine pulled by reindeer, performs at a rock concert and picks up chicks. On his sheepskin coat you can even read the inscription: “Kiss me, I am a northern Pole” (apparently, a play on the words “polish” – a Pole, and “pole” – a pole). This performance is watched on TV by Ozzy Osbourne, and he clearly does not like it. As a result, the singer shoots at the TV, and Santa Claus, right on the stage, again takes on the appearance of a timid layman.
A year later, Ozzy himself will participate in the recording of a cover of “Iron Man” with THERAPY?. The recording was included in the BLACK SABBATH tribute “Nativity in Black”, but did not please with anything particularly interesting.
Hip-hop artist Busta Rhymes has taken a more creative approach to rethinking the SABBATH hit. In 1998, he recorded the song “This Means War” based on “Iron Man”, where he interspersed Ozzy’s vocals with his own rap lines. Like an iron man, the hero of Basta is filled with anger and a thirst for revenge.

Lessons I’ve Learned the Hard Way When Buying Cameras Over the Years
On the never-ending camera buyer’s merry-go-round? Here are a few lessons I’ve learned along the way.
It is finally gone! I won’t specify what it is. I will say that it is a camera. I won’t say which camera (it’s none of those pictured in this article) because the point of this article isn’t to disparage any particular brand or camera. But let’s just say that a few years ago, I purchased a very expensive camera that I envisioned completely transforming the way I work. Yet, over the years, after trying repeatedly to find it a place in my workflow, sadly it only ended up coming up short time and time again at doing what I needed. As a result, it has spent the vast majority of its lifespan sitting in a camera case collecting dust while I silently simmered at the large chuck it took out of my bank account. Then, I simmered some more as I had to buy even more cameras to address the issues that it was meant to address. The only reason it’s taken me this long to sell it is that I was holding out false hope that I could recoup more of my initial investment. But, just last week, after a minuscule bump in trade-in value, I finally decided to cut bait and take what I could get. While I’m not happy to have lost money on the investment and incurred such a self-inflicted wound, I will say there is at least a bit of catharsis from closing that chapter in my gear journey.
As I packaged the camera up and shipped it out to the buyer, I made a realization. I’m done buying new gear. Well, for the foreseeable future, that is. I don’t mean to say I’ll never buy a new camera again in my career. If I’m fortunate, I still have a while to go in my working life, and 10 years from now, it’s likely that some technology will have emerged that my pea-sized brain is currently incapable of imagining. So, never say never.
Also, my bold declaration that I am done buying new gear for the foreseeable future only comes after the last five years of spending far more than is logically sensible as I fought a losing battle against my lack of willpower and overhauled everything in my arsenal from cameras to light stands. So part of me saying I don’t need to buy anything else is because I truly don’t need to buy anything else. And when I say that I’m sharing lessons learned about buying gear, believe me when I say that many of those lessons were learned the hard way.
Most of this camera carousel was instigated by the industry’s shift from DSLR to mirrorless in the last half decade. While I made the shift begrudgingly, I eventually did go fully mirrorless, less for the photography benefits and more to accommodate changes in my career path which have made filmmaking a larger and larger portion of my annual billings. For larger film projects, I still rent video-centric cinema camera systems as opposed to dropping six figures to own my own top-level cinema cameras, which are still, ahem, well beyond my financial reach. But I did want an in-house camera capable of shooting anything at any moment for projects without a rental budget or more modest ambitions. Trying to find which mirrorless camera system would be the right fit for both my unique preferences as a photographer and my technical needs as a filmmaker while not breaking my budget has been far more difficult than I imagined. Let the manufacturers tell it: all you need to do is keep buying whatever camera they released last and you will always have “the perfect camera.” Of course, this is nonsense. Instead, my attempts to find a one-size-fits-all camera for my needs resulted in a number of near misses and eventually a small collection of cameras that all did part of the process well while falling short in others.
Eventually, I landed on the Nikon Z9. This is not an article about why you should buy the Z9. So, all I will say is that, after all these years of looking, I’ve finally found a camera that threads the needle for the majority of my everyday needs and gives me the confidence that, whatever new cameras are coming down the line, my own camera needs should be satisfied for some time to come. I bought two, sold off all my other cameras, put away the credit card, and am greatly looking forward to not having to go camera shopping again until one of the Z9 bodies gives up the ghost.
So, what did I learn from an endless cycle of buying high and selling low on my camera gear before eventually finding the right system for me? Here are just a few things I wish I had told myself at the beginning.
Don’t Go Down the YouTube Rabbit Hole of Camera Reviews
This is not to say that you shouldn’t watch a camera review of something you are considering buying. I write camera reviews, so it would be hypocritical of me to suggest that there was something wrong with wanting to be informed on the latest and greatest. But the absolute deluge of easily digestible photo-related content on the internet makes it incredibly easy to find oneself falling down an endless rabbit hole filled with camera envy. These reviews, as entertaining as they may be, are likely doing you no favors.
Here’s what I mean. Speaking from personal experience, many of my camera purchases have gone like this. I hear about a new camera on the market on one of the rumor sites. Seeing as though I write for Fstoppers, I may not even have to go that far. Then, I hear one of my favorite YouTubers talking about this rumor for months before the announcement, thus building anticipation. Then, the camera is announced, and it inevitably has better specs than whatever I currently have since technology is ever improving. Then, the YouTube algorithm feeds me similar videos from other reviews who also repeat these amazing new specs, a few of whom might have actually gotten to test the product and will more than likely make videos raving about how good it is because that’s what gets clicks. Next thing I know, I’ve spent hours of my life watching content about a particular camera product that I really don’t need, but have convinced myself that I do simply as a result of hearing its name repeated so many times in a condensed period. This is nothing nefarious on the part of the YouTubers or the manufacturers. This is Marketing 101. Convincing a buyer that something they just want is something that they actually need. Works every time. And, with my obsessive nature and inability to move on once I have a bee in my bonnet, I find myself incredibly susceptible.
For that reason, I’ve made an express point of being less knowledgeable about new cameras on the market. I have a couple favorite channels that I watch more for enjoyment of their personality than as a source of information. But I actively try to watch less about upcoming products. Instead of asking myself what can this new camera do for me, I ask what isn’t my current camera doing for me. The odds are that whatever camera you currently have is doing just fine by you. And, while the newer version will undoubtedly have more bells and whistles, there is likely no reason why you can’t accomplish all your artistic tasks with what you already have in hand.
Buy Used
Newer isn’t always better, especially when it comes to value for money.
I wasn’t completely honest earlier. I do have one more camera in the arsenal in addition to my Z9s. While the Z9s handle 100% of my professional still work and a large portion of the video work, there is one area where the camera isn’t the best fit: street photography. Not that it can’t do it. Its fast focus and durability make it perfect for documentary work. But if I just want to go for a walk with a friend or take some vacation photos just for fun, a smaller, less feature-rich body is more what the doctor ordered. So, to that end, I just bought a steeply discounted used camera body to serve my personal photography needs. I’ll have an article on that camera coming soon, so I won’t go into detail here. But, suffice to say, one of the key things that inspired me to pick it up was the value proposition.
Buying used gear is cheaper than buying new gear. It’s not rocket science. And just because a camera might arrive with a few scuff marks or a less-than-virginal shutter doesn’t mean that it can’t get the job done. I was just talking about a purchase of a personal camera, but the exact same rules apply for professional equipment. As long as you do your homework and take care to buy from a reputable dealer, you can get peak performance for half the cost. So, if you are in the business of photography to make a profit or just an amateur looking for the best bang for your buck, buying used should be a consideration in every purchasing decision.
Personally, I always opt for used when I have the chance. This is made even easier if you can refrain from always chasing the new releases. There is just something that feels better about a purchase when you know you’ve addressed your need at the best possible price. Even more so when you consider the next point.
You Don’t Always Need the New Model
As fun as it might be to gorge ourselves on new technology, photography is an art form, not a computer equation. Sure, fancy new features can make our lives as photographers easier than ever. But photographers have been creating amazing imagery for over a century. The majority of it captured without such creature comforts as eye detection, IBIS, or whatever in-camera computational photography is coming down the line.
What you need to be a photographer is a camera capable of capturing images. Depending on your field, you might need a minimum level of megapixels. Depending on your field you may need to be able to shoot a certain number of frames per second. But, for the vast majority of photographers, almost any decent camera manufactured in the last decade is capable of doing most of the work that needs to be done and will be for some time to come.
Sure, there’s always going to be a reason to want to upgrade. But ask yourself. Is there any image in your head right now that you want to capture that your current camera prevents you from capturing? Of course, the new model might make it easier. And, if it improves efficiency, that could be a unit of value in itself. But, honestly, just between you and me, couldn’t you accomplish the same task just by doing a teeny bit more work with the system you already have? And, if you can, is it really worth it to spend thousands of dollars to upgrade or overhaul your system just to say that you have the latest and greatest? If you could still accomplish the same task by spending less money, either by purchasing used equipment or by not upgrading at all, then why wouldn’t you do so?
Again, there are always exceptions. As I mentioned, my move to mirrorless was driven primarily by video capabilities as opposed to still photography functionality. I do enjoy having eye detection and end-to-end focusing points. But, with that said, it’s not like I couldn’t keep things in focus before mirrorless. So, it would be hard for me to justify using those focusing improvements as a need to do my job.
Just the other day, I was wondering if the smart move was even to go to mirrorless at all. Perhaps in my own use case, purely from a value perspective, the smarter move might have been to stay with DSLRs, save a boatload of money, use them for 100% of my still photography, and invest all those savings into a dedicated cinema body rather than trying to have one camera that can do both. As it turns out, now that I have the Z9, I’m completely happy with the course I took. But I could make a strong argument to take the opposite approach as well.
One’s perception of value is wholly dependent on one’s own personal needs and resources. I can’t make any proclamations about how you should proceed with your purchases without knowing your circumstances. As I mentioned, my own satisfaction with my current setup has only come after years of trial and error in filling out the system. And, other than the unnamed camera I mentioned at the top of this article, the vast majority of investments have paid off handsomely. The supporting gear like lenses, stands, and lights perhaps more than the cameras themselves. So, I’m not here to tell you to stop buying new equipment.
Rather, I wanted to share a bit of the lessons I’ve learned along the way. Some of them obvious. But, obvious or not, they bear repeating. Even if it’s just me repeating these lessons to myself to focus my intention on the art and not the technology.
KEH Camera Review: Best Place to Sell Used Cameras?
Buying used camera equipment (or selling your own) can be a hassle, and having so many camera retailers to choose from is confusing. In this KEH camera review, I’ll help you decide if buying and selling pre-owned equipment is worth the effort and the savings.

As an avid photographer, I’m always on the lookout for the latest camera gear. However, buying new equipment can be expensive, especially if you’re traveling with multiple cameras and lenses. But in this KEH Camera review, I’ll help you decide if buying and selling pre-owned equipment is worth the effort and the savings.
To put KEH to the test, I bought a used Sony a7iii from their site. And to see what the selling process was like, I also sold my Tokina 11-16mm F/2.8 lens.
In this review, I’ll share my experience with KEH to help you determine if they’re the right camera retailer for you!
Who is KEH Camera?
Before we dive into this KEH Camera review, let’s take a look at who they are as a company.
KEH Camera is the largest marketplace for buying and selling used photography equipment. They work with both buyers and sellers to provide a seamless and transparent shopping experience.
Not to mention, they’ve also been in business for 40 years! The knowledgeable folks at KEH are photographers too, so they know what they’re doing.
If you’re in the market for a new camera, KEH has over 55,000 items in their inventory. From DLSRs and lenses to tripods and cases, you can save up to 40% off retail prices by buying pre-owned equipment from KEH.
Their inventory is completely dependent on what they have in stock. That means they might not have the exact camera or accessory you want that day.
If you’re looking to sell your camera, KEH can help there too. You can sell your used equipment for cash, or trade-in for different merchandise. And best of all, the entire process is automated, which means you don’t have to deal with auctioneers or fake sellers.
KEH Camera Review: Quick Answers
Are you looking to buy or sell your photography equipment on KEH? If so, there are a few important factors to take into account.
Buying from KEH Camera
Save hundreds of dollars on equipment. However, KEH claims they can sell for up to 40% of the retail cost.
Easy and straightforward check out process.
14-day return policy and 180-day KEH warranty. On the other hand, purchases do not come with a manufacturer’s warranty.
Selling with KEH Camera
Easy and automated process. Once you receive your online quote, you’ll send your gear directly to KEH to inspect and approve.
Since KEH is the reseller, you’ll probably won’t get the highest price for your gear. Essentially, you’re sacrificing part of the cost for the convenience of using a third-party reseller.

KEH Camera Pros and Cons
As with any online realtor, there are both advantages and disadvantages of using their service. As part of this honest KEH camera review, I’ll cover some key factors to consider before buying or selling your camera.
✅
Pros
Convenience. KEH makes it really easy to sell your equipment online. Everything is automated, including the quote, so you know exactly what you’re getting in return.
No dealing with online auctions and fake sellers, which is a constant problem on platforms like eBay.
Transparent platform that makes it easy to see exactly what you’re getting, regardless of whether you’re buying or selling.
❌
Cons
If selling, you won’t get the highest price for it. If you want a higher price, you’ll have to sell it yourself directly to a third party or on a platform like eBay. Ultimately, you’re getting a lower price but that’s in exchange for convenience. If you want a higher price, you have to put up with bullshit.
At the end of the day, KEH is reselling the product, so they have to be able to mark the price up enough to make it worth the money.
If buying, you don’t get a manufacturer’s warranty.
If buying, there’s no guarantee that they will have any particular item in stock. It’s luck of the draw, really, whether or not they’ll have the item you want.
My Experience Buying a Used Camera from KEH Camera
Overall, I’m pretty happy with my experience buying used equipment from KEH. Previously I was shooting with the Fujifilm X-T2, one of the best mirrorless cameras for travel, but I outgrew the capabilities of this system and was ready to upgrade.
But I didn’t want to pay full price (who does!?).
Purchasing the Sony a7iii from KEH
After Sony launched the a7iii last year, I knew this was the camera I wanted. I had also considered the Canon EOS R, but their single memory card slot was the primary thing that dissuaded me from buying it. That and the fact that Canon has a strong stance against IBIS (in-body image stabilization), a feature in which I strongly believe.
Sony also provides incredible colors, RAW files with very high dynamic range, excellent AF, and basically a list of specs that beat out every other camera on the market. It was a no brainer for me.
Shooting with the Sony a7iii.
So I set out to purchase the Sony a7iii body with the Sony Vario-Tessar T* FE 24-70mm f/4 ZA OSS Lens from KEH.
I bought this combo knowing that I’d be upgrading my lens to the much more expensive Sony FE 24-70mm f/2.8 GM Lens sometime down the line. But this was the lens I was going to use for now so I didn’t have to drop $4k all at once (the GM retails for $2,198).
I knew I was going to eventually sell the Zeiss lens and buy the G-Master, so this was my interim lens.
I found the checkout process with KEH to be no different than any other online retailer. It was simple, straightforward and, ultimately, I got a better price on the gear.
How Much Money I Saved Buying a Used Camera from KEH
Here’s how the numbers ultimately broke down at the time of purchase:
MSRP:
a7iii body: $1,998.00
Zeiss 24-70 lens: $898.00
Total: $2,896
KEH:
a7iii body: $1,742. 00 ($256 savings)
Zeiss 24-70 lens: $698.00 ($200 savings)
Total: $2,440 ($456 savings)
With more than $450 in savings, I’d be able to put that money towards the more expensive lens when the time finally came (and it did!).
Receiving the Sony a7iii from KEH Camera
At the time of receiving my camera gear, I had mixed feelings about my purchase. But in hindsight, I’m very satisfied.
The camera and lens both arrived in excellent condition. The lens came in the original packaging but the body came wrapped in bubble wrap. I was disappointed about this as I like to keep boxes for my electronics in case I ever want to sell them again in the future.
When you get a camera wrapped in bubble wrap, it doesn’t feel like you’re getting a “new” piece of gear. Which, really, you’re not. It was important for me to keep this in mind, especially since this was my first time buying used camera gear.
All that is to say there’s definitely inconsistency in terms of how the item will arrive—it all depends on how the previous owner sold it to them.
The unboxing was a little anticlimactic, but ultimately I got the camera I wanted in excellent condition at more than $450 off MSRP.
My Experience Selling Used Cameras to KEH
For the sake of this KEH Camera review, I sold my Tokina 11-16mm F/2.8 Aspherical AT-X Pro EF Mount wide angle lens for Canon APS-C sensors. I bought this sometime around 2014 for about $800 and decided to sell it on KEH.
I wanted to be able to provide insight about both buying and selling used camera gear with KEH.
Before getting started, I do want to say that I don’t think there’s ever a scenario where you feel good about selling camera equipment. You will always get less than you paid for it, so it’s important to keep in mind that, whatever the difference in price, that’s what you paid so you could use it for all that time.
KEH Camera vs. eBay
On eBay, this lens, in an open box, was selling for about $300-$330. KEH offered me $191. So it was about $100-$140 less.
From a business perspective, this makes sense. They need to make a buck. That $100 is going to cover their overhead (shipping, inspecting, cleaning and listing the product) and also their profit.
From a consumer perspective, it’s annoying not to get the full retail value. But what you do get is convenience. I don’t have to deal with eBay auctions or people making fake bids on my products (this happens ALL the time with electronics).
I also don’t have to pay the 10% eBay fee or the shipping fee, all of which eat into margins. So I’d probably only be getting about $250 on eBay, assuming the lens sold for $300, which is kind of a big assumption.
Because the fact is, with eBay, there’s no guarantee. With KEH, there is. And not only that, I received a quote on the KEH Camera website before ever agreeing to even sell them my lens, so I knew exactly what I was getting.
After somewhat reluctantly agreeing to the price, KEH provided a free shipping label. All I had to do was package the item up and send it off. They then inspected the item and approved the quote.
If you claimed your equipment was in better condition than it was, it’s likely that you’ll get a revised quote for less money—so keep this in mind if you decide to sell used cameras on KEH.
KEH Camera vs. B&H and Adorama
That said, I’ve sold equipment to B&H and Adorama before as well. They’re both widely trusted names and I buy camera gear from them all the time. But my experience selling with them has been so-so.
Each time, I had a personalized rep call me and make me an offer. While you might think this is a good thing, I actually really disliked the experience. This rep was a fast-talking numbers cruncher and negotiator extraordinaire. By the time I agreed to a price and hung up the phone, I barely knew what happened. And I wasn’t even happy with the price I got.
So, while B&H and Adorama may be larger names and have some more “wiggle” room, I like the transparency and automation/ease-of-use that KEH provides. Frankly, I didn’t feel like I was going to a pawn shop.
For buying new camera gear, I’ll continue to use them, but if I’m selling used cameras, I’m sticking with KEH.
Conclusion
I hope you now have a better idea if KEH Camera is the right place to buy or sell your next camera. There are pros and cons to their service, but in general, I had a positive experience with both processes.
It doesn’t matter if you’re an amateur photographer or an experienced professional. If you’ve been eyeing that mirrorless camera or zoom lens, check out KEH Camera—they might have just what you want in stock!

Tele2: 60% of customers buy cameras to monitor children and animals

Tele2, a Russian mobile operator, found that demand for Smart Home cameras is highest in July and August, accounting for an average of 10% of purchases each month. The popularity of such equipment in the summer is explained by the desire of customers to monitor their apartment during a trip outside the city – more than 50% of video camera owners have country houses.
In Tele2 communication stores, customers can connect Rostelecom’s Smart Home, a digital solution that allows them to control devices in their home using a smartphone. With indoor surveillance cameras, users can monitor what is happening indoors in real time.
Tele2 analyzed consumer demand for indoor video surveillance cameras. Users on average buy two cameras, using them in different places of the apartment or house. The share of Tele2 customers who purchased cameras for indoor video surveillance in 2022 was 90%, the rest use them for outdoor video surveillance.
Among the reasons for buying such equipment, 48% of buyers mention the opportunity to look after the house during their absence. According to the operator, the need to install video surveillance in half of the cases arose among those who periodically travel to the country. Video surveillance acquisitions peaked in July and August in 2022, with an average share of 10% each month. The surge in purchases is associated with the height of the summer season and holidays. Owners of video cameras want to be sure of the safety of their apartments – 74% of the purchased cameras were installed there.
The northernmost implementation: how SberCRM automated the work of a tour operator in the Arctic
The company also found that a popular reason for installing indoor video surveillance is the need to monitor a child – 34% of buyers indicated this reason. Most often, these are parents of children aged 7-14 years – in 61% of cases. The operator notes that cameras are installed for remote monitoring of pets – this reason was named by 26% of users. Another 15% buy video surveillance to look after elderly relatives, and 14% of respondents control repairs using cameras. At the same time, respondents could indicate several reasons for installing video surveillance systems.
One of the main advantages of video surveillance from Rostelecom is the ability to connect cloud storage. This feature allows you to record the broadcast without restrictions on the size of the video. In addition, the user can select the desired number of days to keep the record.

10 mistakes when buying a camera | Articles | Photo, video, optics
A camera is not only an intricate device, but also a worthy investment. Therefore, mistakes when choosing a suitable camera are undesirable. However, we are often mistaken. Therefore, we have collected 10 popular mistakes that most often lead to choosing the wrong camera.
Source: Digital Trends
1. A cool camera will give good photos
An expensive fancy camera can give the user a lot. Shooting speed, autofocus accuracy, high aperture, etc. But all this is just technical specifications. Just as the best brush and paint do not make the owner an artist, so the best camera does not guarantee masterpieces. In order to get the result, first of all, a skill is required, and then a camera.
This does not mean that you should skimp on technology: cheap or outdated equipment will not be able to cope with your requirements if you are planning to seriously get into photography. But if photography becomes just a hobby for you, you should not invest in the most expensive equipment at all. Most of the professional features may not be needed, so the expense will not be justified.
2. It is not necessary to research anything in advance
The ideal way to get as much information about which camera is better to choose is to do a full research. To begin with, it is worth deciding on the goals, and then carefully study the characteristics of the cameras and their specifics. It is far from always worth relying on what consultants in stores will tell you, because their task is to sell goods that are available, and not to advise what is suitable for your tasks. Therefore, in this case, the responsibility lies entirely with the buyer. The good news is that most of the information is available online, so anyone can prepare and make a choice before heading to the store.
Understand the different types of cameras and their pros and cons. Be sure to look at examples of photos without processing. All this knowledge will be useful to you not only when buying a camera, but also in further learning photography.

3. Don’t rely entirely on reviews
Reviews are very convenient. When real users talk about the disadvantages and positive aspects of the device, you can be sure that they have no third-party motives. Is this true? Not really. We are not talking about the fact that the network is full of fake reviews, although sometimes they appear. But almost everything has both fans and haters. As absurd as it may sound, some users can’t stand Canon cameras, for example. And no positive characteristics can convince them. And so it can be with almost every product. So don’t worry too much if you come across a review that says this is the worst camera ever because it was released under a specific brand. Pay attention to detailed reviews with examples and explanations, and be prepared for the fact that there are no comrades for the taste and color. Also, do not pay attention to subjective comments: if you are not used to the location of the buttons on the previous camera, then the problem on the new one will not affect you.
4. Do not forget about accessories
Of course, there are buyers who are only interested in buying a case, but these are most often not beginners at all. If you are buying a camera for the first time, be prepared that the body itself will not be the only waste. You will need a lens or multiple lenses, a spare battery if you intend to do long photo shoots or shoot events, a fairly large memory card or cards, a camera strap, a case or bag, and of course photo editing software. All these are absolutely necessary things, the cost of which will have to be taken into account when planning the starting budget. Sometimes you can save money by buying a kit kit, which includes a lens in advance. But everything else will have to be bought separately anyway. So avoid this common mistake and immediately consider everything that may be useful to you in the future.

5. Don’t spend your entire budget just because you can
You may have a small budget, or you may have an unlimited budget. There is nothing wrong with this, of course. But great opportunities do not mean great needs. In other words, you don’t need to spend money on features that you definitely won’t need. Unless you intend to do astrophotography, you should not take a special lens just for the sake of it. There is no need to chase a full frame sensor if you have no idea what advantages it provides. A significant difference is usually determined by key parameters, so it is worth paying attention to them. Many cool features will actually be useless. If you’re buying a video camera, don’t focus on photo features, and vice versa.
If you want the coolest camera, this is also a question, because the indicators can be different. In short, don’t fall for the gimmicks, because in the end many of them are nothing more than publicity stunts that won’t work.
6. Don’t focus on the little things
The camera is a complex structure, and a lot is based on small elements and details. For a professional user, this can be a serious problem if he knows exactly what he needs from the camera. But for a beginner or an amateur, as for many serious users, these little things may not matter at all.
Please note that if you are buying a DSLR or mirrorless camera for amateur photography, many parameters will not be fundamental. Kit kit with lens can cover most requirements of beginner and hobbyist. In this case, just do not get carried away with the details, this is a complex and lengthy process that is not always needed. In this case, of course, we must not forget about the study.
Remember that there are many different ways to compare cameras, and every photographer evaluates devices according to their own standards.

7. No need to be distracted by discounts and promotions
A discount or a special offer can greatly distract the buyer. A camera promotion can lead to a very good price, but you should never be distracted and rush to make a purchase solely because a good offer is in effect.
The camera that is eligible for the promotion is not necessarily the one that suits you. If you are in no hurry to buy, then the best option is to wait for the best price on the camera you have chosen, regardless of the available discounts.
You should not buy, for example, a travel camera if you plan to shoot portraits or do not travel much. The main thing is that the camera suits your lifestyle and shooting, otherwise, if you encounter disadvantages or inconveniences, you will either return the camera or not use it. The saying “the miser pays twice” is more relevant here than ever. Therefore, decide in advance on a price range that is comfortable for you and, if you come across a successful promotion or discount on the selected camera, use it, otherwise you should not deviate from the original plan.
8. Don’t buy a camera without a purpose
So, the first rule of any purchase is to know exactly why you need a camera. This is the basis of any purchase and it applies to any technique. Based on the goal, you choose the model. Therefore, never make a purchase without having a certain understanding of your own tasks. This is the easiest way to buy what doesn’t suit you.
But we do not always know exactly what we plan to shoot, for example, beginners often experiment. Fortunately, in such cases, too, there is a way out. Some pros recommend focusing on lifestyle rather than possible potential plans if you’re undecided on the genre. If you are interested in different types of photography, then the best option is an interchangeable lens camera. Thus, you can choose a portrait, wide-angle or telephoto lens, depending on specific tasks. As for the characteristics, try to choose universal ones. Again, don’t chase price, it’s not an indication of opportunity.

9. Don’t listen to random advice
If you’re buying a camera, be sure to do your research. But what you should not do is listen to the advice of everyone in a row. Even if your friend or relative takes pictures, this does not necessarily mean that they understand the subject. Therefore, even if you listened to their advice, do not take them for granted. Check the information, compare the received “testimony” with those that you get from more reliable sources.
And, as with online reviews, try to weed taste preferences from technical indicators. Another case is if there is a professional photographer among your acquaintances. He can not only give useful recommendations that will help in the selection and further shooting, but also allow you to test your own technique. The latter option is the most preferable, since it is always better to try out what you plan to purchase in practice before buying. This is the best way to find out if the camera is right for you.
10. Do not buy an untested used camera
Used cameras should be purchased with extreme caution. This is recommended to be done exclusively by those or with those who understand the technical side of the issue. There may be a lot of damage in the chambers that will not be visible to the naked eye. Things like scratches on the sensor are not easy to see right away, but this already means that the camera will need additional repairs. The same goes for all the internal mechanics of the device. This may explain the too low price. Therefore, when it comes not to new equipment, but to used goods, certain knowledge is needed. If you do not have them, do not be fooled by the cost and seemingly profitable offers. The best strategy is to purchase a new device with all warranty documents.
Best Google Pixel Deals: Save on the Pixel 7 Pro and More
Google’s latest phones are among some of the best around and right now you can save some money when picking up a Pixel phone. If you’re already deep in the Google ecosystem, using Gmail, Google Calendar, and the rest, you’re probably already set to go all-in. But make sure to check out the deals that are on offer before you place any order.
The Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro are the latest in Google’s flagship lineup, and they’re great choices if you already use Google services to help organize your life. There’s also the previous-gen Pixel 6A, which recently had its starting price reduced by $100, and the new Pixel 7A, which is our favorite budget-friendly Android phone. Plus, there’s the new Pixel Fold, Google’s first foldable device, which is now available for preorder.
Andrew Lanxon/CNET
If you’re having a hard time deciding which Pixel model will work best for you, we’ve compared the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro to their previous-gen counterparts, with a full breakdown of their specs and performance. If affordability is your top priority, you’ll probably want to opt for the budget-friendly Pixel 7A or the even cheaper previous-gen Pixel 6A.
Pixel 7 and 7 Pro deals
The Pixel 7 and 7 Pro hit shelves back in October of last year, and you’ll find them in stock and available at most major retailers and carriers. There are tons of offers out there, whether you’re looking for an unlocked model, have an older device to trade in or are in need of a new service plan through a carrier.

CNET’s Lisa Eadicicco reviewed the recently released Pixel 7A and found it has many of the same features as the Pixel 7, saying that “it has the same Tensor G2 processor as the Pixel 7, a new 64-megapixel main camera and a 6.1-inch screen just like its predecessor.” But it’s available at a lower price than the other models in the Pixel 7 lineup. And right now you can snag even more savings. Here are the best deals you can get on this new device.
Pixel Fold preorder deals
James Martin/CNET
Samsung’s unique foldable phones are about to have some competition with the new Google Pixel Fold. Announced earlier this year at Google’s I/O developer conference, the Pixel Fold will feature a 5.8-inch cover screen, a 7.6-inch OLED internal screen, 12GB of RAM, a next-gen Tensor G2 processor and an intimidating $1,799 starting price. The phone hasn’t officially hit shelves yet though, so you’ve still got a little time to take advantage of these preorder offers.
Pixel 6A deals
Lisa Eadicicco/CNET
CNET’s Lisa Eadicicco originally called Google’s affordable Pixel 6A the “best Android phone under $500.” It’s slightly smaller than the full-size Pixel 7, and features a 6.1-inch OLED display with a refresh rate of 60Hz. It’s equipped with 128GB of storage and 6GB of RAM, which is slightly less than the standard Pixel 7 has, but is still more than sufficient for most people’s needs. It also boasts 5G capabilities and support for Wi-Fi 6 for lightning-fast browsing. Since the release of the new Pixel 7A, Google has dropped the starting price of this previous-gen model by $100, so it’s already a solid value at just $349. And we’ve rounded up some of the best deals and offers out there so you can pick one up for even less.
Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro deals
The previous-gen Pixel 6 is almost two years old at this point, and it’s getting pretty tough to find new models in stock. But if you’re committed to snagging one of these older flagship phones, Amazon still has a few available that you can pick up for hundreds less than the original price. Google no longer carries the Pixel 6 and most retailers and carriers have shifted their offers over to the newer Pixel 7 models, so this is just about the only deal you’ll find out there at the moment.

In our Google Pixel 7 review, we noted that the phone builds upon the success of its predecessor thanks to “stellar cameras and a more advanced Tensor G2 chipset.” We also labeled it the “best Android phone for photography.” Of course, this shouldn’t come as a huge surprise the Pixel range has made a name for itself as the smartphone to beat when it comes to taking high-quality photos. Although, in other areas such as performance and battery life, the Pixel 7 does lag behind the iPhone 14 and Samsung Galaxy S23.
Meanwhile, the Google Pixel 7 Pro supercharges what was already a very nifty smartphone. In our Google Pixel 7 Pro review, we said declared it “the ideal follow-up” to the excellent Pixel 6. We were also impressed by its refined design, and impressive new zoom features. As always with a Pixel phone, the camera array is the scene-stealer here, and are a huge part of the reason we rate the Pixel 7 Pro as “Google’s best phone yet.”
You can’t go wrong with either the regular Pixel 7 or the souped-up Pixel 7 Pro, especially as both are at their lowest prices ever right now. Alternatively, if you’re loyalties lie on the iOS side of the fence, but sure to check out our full rundown of the best iPhone deals for discounts on the flagship iPhone 14 as well as older models.

How to order Pixel 6 from USA
October 19, 2021 Google introduced the new flagship smartphones Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. From this article, you will learn how to deliver a gadget from the USA to Russia, and what is remarkable about new smartphones.
In today’s world, the iPhone has long ceased to be the one and only premium smartphone. However, in Russia, many still prefer Apple gadgets. Not surprisingly, in the updated Google sales program, Russia is not on the list of countries where the new flagship Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro will be officially sold.
However, there have been significant changes in Google’s key markets. If in the past smartphones of the corporation were hardly available outside the official store, then in 2021 Pixel 6 will appear at all major US retailers. Pre-orders for the new gadgets have already been announced by Amazon, Best Buy and B&H.
One of the advantages of the new generation of Google smartphones is the price. The cheapest Pixel 6 with 128 GB of internal memory costs $599. The price of a smartphone with 256 GB is $699. The older model, the Pixel 6 Pro, also costs $899, $999, or $1,099, depending on the amount of internal storage.
The smartphone went on sale on October 28, 2021 in all stores. To buy and safely ship the Pixel 6 from the US, you need the help of the Parcel. Register on our website and get a free address in the tax-free state of Delaware. At this address you will place orders in any American online stores. After registering purchases at the Parcels warehouse, you arrange the delivery of things from America to Russia.
US stores selling Google Pixel 6
Amazon
This time, the Internet giant was among the retailers that officially sell the Google Pixel 6. At the time of writing, pre-orders were only available for the younger model in all three colors and in versions with 128 GB and 256 GB of internal memory.
Pixel 6 Pro pre-order hasn’t been announced yet (same as Google web store), but product card already exists. Most likely, the top version will also be sold on Amazon.
B&H
Obviously, the prices for the new Pixel 6 smartphones are the same in all US stores, so B&H does not compete with Amazon. The B&H online store, with rare exceptions, allows you to make online purchases from Russia. Pre-order for the junior modification is also available, and you can find out about the appearance of the senior modification via e-mail, if you fill out the appropriate form on the site.
Best Buy
Best Buy is not one of the stores where you can easily make purchases from Russia. However, through the Buying Help service, you will be able to purchase the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro smartphones at Best Buy as well.
Google Official Store
The official Google store is not always loyal to buyers from Russia. Some customers of Banderolka manage to purchase gadgets on the site. However, most often the company refuses to send devices to the address of the mail forwarder.
However, we recommend that you check the availability of purchases in the official Google store, as the site has unique promotions not found in other retailers. At the time of this writing, ordering any version of the Pixel 6 was free with the Pixel Buds A-Series wireless headphones.
Advantages of Pixel 6 smartphones
The new generation of Google smartphones is radically different from all previous ones, primarily due to the use of the original Tensor chip. Google specialists in the presentation explained the advantages of the new SoC technology for a long time. In short, the smartphone has become smarter in all key respects.
Pixel 6 camera
The parameter that all users of new Google smartphones will pay attention to is the new work of camera algorithms. And before, Google smartphones outperformed competitors in terms of color reproduction and night mode. Now they excel and through the introduction of new features.
The Google Pixel 6 smartphone has the Magic Eraser function, which allows you to delete unwanted objects from pictures directly in your smartphone after shooting.
Another useful feature is Face Unblur, which allows you to create a clear image of the face in real time during the shooting process if the person in the frame was moving. This is achieved by combining images from multiple cameras into one.
Perhaps for the first time, the topic of discussion in mobile photography was the accuracy of skin color reproduction in dark people. While other smartphones, incl. iPhone are trying to lighten the skin in the pictures, the cameras of the Pixel 6 are trying to capture the natural tone as naturally as possible.
Voice Recognition
The great achievement of the new Pixel 6 smartphone is the improved voice recognition function. The Google ecosystem has long provided a fairly high-quality experience through the voice interface, but in the new Pixel flagships, the use of voice has reached unprecedented heights, and not only when performing short search queries.
The Pixel 6 delivers high-quality, fast voice translation between different languages. The presentation showed an example of direct and reverse translation from English into Japanese. The speed and accuracy with which the smartphone completed the task is admirable.
Pixel 6 design
The new design of Pixel smartphones is an original and probably right decision. Instead of highlighting each camera lens, as is done on the iPhone and other Android smartphones, Google designers have chosen a different path.

TP-Link Archer C9 (AC1900) USB-WiFi Router
Sometimes the speeds offered by ordinary WiFi routers are not enough to achieve all the necessary goals and objectives. Then premium-class solutions come to the rescue, a bright representative of which is the TP-Link Archer C9 dual-band router with support for the latest WiFi standard 802. 11ac and a maximum speed of 1900 Mbps !
Compared with younger models, TP-Link Archer C9 has many advantages: high speed, long range, two USB ports and stylish design.
TP-Link Archer C9 operates simultaneously in two frequency bands – 2.4 and 5 GHz – and supports the advanced 802.11ac standard. In the 2.4 GHz band, the maximum data transfer rate reaches 600 Mbps, in the 5 GHz band – 1300 Mbps. Thus, the total throughput of the WiFi router reaches 1.9 Gbps ! It is possible to achieve such high performance thanks to the use of the modern 256QAM modulation method and MIMO multi-channel data transmission technology. To ensure stable operation of the router at such high speeds, TP-Link engineers installed Powerful 1 GHz Dual Core Processor .
It is recommended to connect devices with less bandwidth requirements to the 2.4 GHz network, and more resource-intensive devices to the 5 GHz network. Thus, you will be able to unleash the full potential of the router.
The router uses two radios and three detachable dual-band antennas to provide optimal WiFi coverage. Complete horn antennas are connected to the router using RP-SMA connectors, which allows you to replace them if necessary with more powerful professional antennas. As a bonus Archer C9supports Beamforming technology, which allows the router to locate the client device and amplify the signal in its direction.
Five Gigabit Ethernet ports are available for wired networking : four LAN ports for connecting subscriber devices and one WAN port for ISP cable.
TP-Link Archer C9 is equipped with two USB connectors : the usual USB 2.0 on the rear panel and high-speed USB 3.0 on the side! This allows you to connect the most productive external drives to the router. In addition to hard drives and printers, USB ports , you can connect a 3G / 4G modem to access the Internet via a SIM card from a mobile operator. Archer C9 supports a wide range of popular modems, including the bestseller Huawei E3372.
The device is configured via the web interface or using the proprietary TP-Link Tether smartphone application. The Archer C9 router “understands most modern network protocols and technologies. In addition to standard routing options (DHCP, port forwarding, DMZ, UPnP, etc.), guest networks, VPN, parental controls, QoS, file sharing, print server, and more are supported.
The router has an attractive modern design: the front side is made of white glossy plastic, the ends and stand are made of silvery plastic. The presence of power, the status of wireless networks, the status of the Internet connection and USB ports can be easily determined using the detailed blue LED indication .
One of the drawbacks of the original Archer C9 was the lack of wall mounts. In the new revision of the product, TP-Link engineers corrected this shortcoming: there are now holes on the back of the router for special brackets included in the package.

Guide to Buying Appliances at an Outlet Store
Buying appliances from an outlet store can save you quite a significant amount. Learn how to find the best appliances without spending or stressing more.
Being in the market to purchase new appliances can be an exciting time. But it can also be overwhelming and expensive. However, if you’re the type who knows what you need, aren’t too picky on brand or style and want to save a few dollars, shopping at an appliance outlet store is your ticket to a money-saving experience.
Outlet stores offer up to 50 percent savings, and at some stores, you’ll be supporting a good cause when you purchase your appliance (Habitat For Humanity ReStores sells home goods and appliances at incredibly low prices). As with any good deal, there’s usually a catch, but if you know what to expect and what to look for, you’re unlikely to be disappointed.
Outlet stores sell at a discounted price for a reason. There will be limited selection, and you might have to deal with a few imperfections. Most of the appliances are used, refurbished, dented or scratched, discontinued or last one in a set. Make sure to look them over carefully. Parts could be missing and with most sales final, most stores won’t accept returns. Occasionally you can get lucky and find appliances that are 100 percent perfect and only there because a store had excess stock or has gone out of business. But by measuring your expectations and understanding there will most likely be compromise; you’ll walk in with the right attitude.
Make sure you do your homework before your visit. Know what make and model you’re looking for. If you’re not finding an exact match at the outlet, go online while at the store and search the appliance that’s caught your eye. Check online ratings or, better yet, Consumer Reports. There you’ll find product overviews, ratings, brand reliability, specs, reviews and price. You can even compare the ones you’re interested in. And who knows; maybe a great rating and a few hundred off the price is enough to overlook that small dent.
Don’t be afraid to ask the sales associate for more off of the sticker. These outlets want to unload these appliances. More come in every day, and the older an appliance gets, the less desirable. Also, bring cash. You know the old saying: Cash is king. Well, there’s no better time to pull that money out of savings than appliance shopping. Remember, the answer is always “no” until you ask.
Don’t let appliance outlets scare you or overwhelm you. There are savings to be had. By educating yourself and being willing to negotiate, you can walk away with new appliances and have money left in your pocket.
Remember, that an American Home Shield Home Warranty Plan comes with the extra benefit of the Appliance Discount Program. Get substantial savings on innovative brand-name appliance technology just for being an AHS customer. Learn more about the program.

So you have your new Arlo camera, and you’re tired of changing those batteries. You’re looking into the solar panel, but is it worth the $108 investment? Let’s find out!
Arlo has two different versions of the solar panel—here we’re just covering the Arlo solar panel with the magnetic connections, which is currently compatible with the Ultra Pro 4 and the Ultra 2 cameras.

Changing batteries turned out to be a bigger hassle for me than I predicted, so I was excited about testing this solar panel.
Every battery eventually dies, especially if you have your cameras up really high. I know that some of you have commented that you want to put your cameras up high in a tree or on the second story of your house, somewhere not easily accessible, so that’s another reason to be interested in getting this solar panel.
One of my first questions was does the solar panel work with certain features that require AC power? For example, activity zones and the 3-second look back function. Both of those require the cameras to be plugged in, so how will that work with this solar panel?
Before we get to the details, let’s start with the design.
The design of the Arlo Solar Panel
The solar panel design is pretty straightforward.
If we look inside the box, it really just comes with two things: the panel itself and an 8-foot charging cable.
We’ve got the magnetic mount on the other side.
It also comes with a wall mount. This is a heavy-duty wall mount, not like the one that came with the camera, which seemed to be pretty cheap and plastic. This one is all metal and a lot heavier duty.

How does the Arlo Solar Panel perform in low-light conditions?
One side of my house receives very little sunlight. It’s the first side of my house to get full shade. I would say the amount of sun per day, depending on the season, is anywhere from maybe two to four hours of sun. Will that be enough power to keep the camera topped off?
Let’s actually go outside and find out.
I have a camera above my front door on the side of the house that gets the most shade. I would say it currently gets about three hours of sun a day. I mounted the solar panel on this side of my house, hooked it up to the camera, and recorded the performance throughout over time. You can see all that in the video.
I’m happy to say that after testing it, the Arlo Solar Panel took on enough sun, even on this shady side of the house, to keep the camera topped off.
In fact, there’s enough residual light in the area that it is actually still providing some power to the camera even though it is in the shade, which I was really impressed to see. Granted, it is probably a very small trickle, but at least the panel is getting something.
When I started this test, the camera had been up for about six weeks, and the battery was all the way down to 53%. Within the first day of testing I got a 13% bump in battery life, and it took a total of three days to get this camera all the way up to 100% with three hours of sunny day. I loved seeing that.
How does the Arlo Solar Panel perform in stormy conditions?
There was a scenario when we had about a week and a half of a storm roll in. It was rainy, it was windy all the time. The table cover in my backyard whipped in the wind and set off motion notifications in the backyard camera that actually drained my battery all the way down to around 35%. It was not getting any sun because of all the rain.
What I ended up doing because of the storm was actually just turning that camera off. I was tired of getting all the notifications, and I knew that was just draining the battery. Once the sun came back out and the storm was gone, I turned the camera back on, and it took about two days to fully charge the battery in the backyard.
Keep in mind if you’re dealing with a storm or windy weather, you may have to turn the camera off just to prevent it from just going completely dead.
How does the Arlo Solar Panel perform in sunny conditions?
Unsurprisingly, not a lot to report here: the solar panel charges about 2x faster in a sunny location. To show you, let’s move to the backyard, which is much sunnier, so the camera back here is getting a lot more sun. It took that camera, which was at about 50% battery strength, about a day and a half to get all the way up to 100%, so about as twice as fast as in the shady setting.
The solar panel will not power AC-only features
As awesome as these panels are in terms of charging power and speed, do they provide me with those extra features that require the camera to be plugged in?
The answer unfortunately is no, and I talked to Arlo about it and asked if maybe there was just something wrong with my setup. Arlo said that unfortunately this does not provide enough power to be able to turn on the feature for activity zones or that 3-second look back, so don’t count on those features using the solar panel.
Recap: Is the Arlo Solar Panel worth it?
Overall, I have been using these solar panels now for, I think it’s nine months and I have not had to change the battery at all.
Other than the storm I mentioned above, I haven’t had any issue with them. They’ve been awesome at keeping everything powered up. I’m happy with them, but without the AC-only features, I’m not sure they’re worth $108 each.

Show seasonal allergies who’s boss
If you suffer from seasonal allergies, now is when they are at their worst. Stock up on allergy season’s most important products to keep your home, classroom, and office allergen-free. Start with an air purifier to strip the air of allergens like pollen and pet dander and replace existing air filters for improved air quality. Frequently dust, wipe down hard surfaces, and vacuum carpets and furniture to help eliminate pollen tracked in from outside and dander left behind by pets. When leaving the house, check the pollen count and bring a face mask to help filter the air you breath outside.
No matter what you do, it’s unlikely that the symptoms of seasonal allergies can be avoided entirely. Make sure to have over-the-counter cold and allergy medications on hand to battle symptoms, and stock up on facial tissues so you’ll always have one available when you need them.
Spring (Cleaning) is in the air
Spring cleaning and decluttering is a tradition meant to refresh our spaces for the year ahead. Staples has everything you need to clear out the clutter, store and organize your belongings, and all the right cleaning supplies.
Clear out the clutter
Start by preparing a checklist and make sure you have all the necessary supplies. Use storage bins and a label maker to make sorting and organizing easier. Prepare extra boxes for donations and trash bags for the things you no longer need. Look for decorative boxes & baskets that will compliment your home’s décor and use them to organize. You can also use closet organizers and storage drawers anywhere they are needed.
Start with the basics
An all-purpose cleaner, cleaning brush and microfiber cloths will clean most surfaces. Use a duster to remove unwanted dirt and furniture polish to revitalize wood surfaces. Upgrade your broom, dustpan, wet mop, and vacuum to make cleaning any type of flooring a breeze.
The nitty gritty
Spring cleaning doesn’t stop there. There’s so much you can do to reset your home:
Improve air quality and eliminate pollen and pet dander with a new air purifier and an air freshener with a scent you love.
On a sunny day, take the opportunity to clean your windows – you’ll need glass cleaner, a bucket, a squeegee, and paper towels.
Have a step stool or ladder on hand to access hard-to-reach places like the tops of cabinets and overhead lighting.
Replace broken light bulbs and check the batteries in your smoke detectors.
Use drain cleaner to clear up sink and bathtub drains.
