What are hotspots?

In the digital age, staying connected is more important than ever before. Whether you’re working remotely or keeping in touch with family and friends on the go, having a strong internet connection wherever you are is essential. Your smartphone is a powerful data-driven device, but what if hotspotting from your phone doesn’t offer a strong enough connection in certain situations?

In those times when you need a strong, reliable connection for your devices, you can use a mobile hotspot. A mobile hotspot is a device that allows you to create a secure Wi-Fi network and connect all your devices to your safe, password protected private network. Hotspots are becoming more popular in the work-from-anywhere era, and you have plenty of options to choose from.

You can shop for a variety of portable mobile hotspot devices at Verizon. You can also make sure you’ll have reliable data for your hotspot when you need it with a connected device plan.

Wi-Fi portable hotspots and more

Some popular choices for Wi-Fi portable hotspots include options from brands like Orbic, Inseego, and Verizon, with each allowing you to connect multiple devices to your private network with ease. Some even allow for fast-charging and come with super long-lasting batteries, meaning you don’t have to worry about your hotspot dying when you’re in a pinch.

Wi-Fi calling is also an option, and when using a mobile hotspot you can power your phone on your own network, meaning you can call family and friends even when you’re low on data or cellular service. Wi-Fi calling can be enabled on most Android and iPhone devices; simply visit your “Settings” app to enable Wi-Fi calling on Android, or use your iPhone to connect to your hotspot like you would any other Wi-Fi network.

If you’re on a prepaid plan, prepaid hotspots and other internet devices are available for sale at Verizon. You can even get a Verizon router on a prepaid plan, helping you save on home internet, too. No matter which hotspot device you choose, you can browse a variety of options and save on internet service when you need it with Verizon.

Mobile HotSpot troubleshooting | T-Mobile Support

We want you connected, and Mobile Hotspot should give you Wi-Fi wherever you go.

Check your connecting device:

  1. Make sure it is within 15 feet of the hotspot.
  2. Try connecting a different computer or T-Mobile device to the hotspot. We can’t support game systems, TVs, or non-T-Mobile phones or tablets.
  3. Check that all timeout, power saving, or hibernate features are off.
  4. Test to see if it can successfully connect to other Wi-Fi networks. If not, the problem is not with the hotspot.
  5. Try accessing a different website or app. If they work are expected, the hotspot is not the problem.
  6. Close or disable any programs running in the background and clear the browser cache & history.
  7. Make sure it’s connected to the right Wi-Fi network.

Hotspot connection issues

Smartphone Mobile Hotspot (SMHS)

Supported T-Mobile phones and tablets that use your T-Mobile network as Wi-Fi for other devices.

  • Check the T-Mobile app to verify that you haven’t exceeded the high-speed data amount included in your plan.
  • If your phone can load a web page, the T-Mobile data works. Contact the other device manufacturer.
  • If you need help setting up this feature or with any of the steps below, visit our Device tutorials.

Mobile Hotspot equipment

T-Mobile standalone Mobile Hotspot devices, not your phone, that provide a Wi-Fi connection for other devices.

  • Mobile Hotspot devices only support using WPS security.
  • The connecting device must have a b/g Wi-Fi radio.
  • If the Hotspot is plugged into a USB port, disconnect it.
  • If you need help with doing any step on the device, visit our Device tutorials.

Once you’ve checked all of the above:

  1. Make sure you’re in T-Mobile coverage and have at least 2 bars of signal in your area. If you’re roaming, check out our Data Passes.
  2. Verify that the Mobile Hotspot or Smartphone Mobile Hotspot feature is turned on.
  3. Check that the connecting device’s Wi-Fi is turned on.
  4. Update to the latest firmware version for all devices.
  5. Restart the Hotspot device or phone.
  6. Restart the devices you are trying to connect to the Hotspot.
  7. Delete the Wi-Fi profile on the connecting device and re-add it.

Standalone Mobile Hotspot equipment doesn’t turn on

  1. Check the charging indicator lights up when you plug in your Hotspot. This can take up to 20 minutes.
  2. Use the charger that came with the device. Test an alternate if one is available.
  3. Plug the Mobile Hotspot into the charger first, then plug the charger into a wall outlet.
  4. Try a different power outlet. Make sure the outlet works with another device, like a lamp.

What is a Wi-Fi hotspot? What is the difference between a router and an access point?

To be honest, today I’m too lazy to write some kind of regular instruction, therefore, I decided to talk about access points. What is an access point, what are they for, how do they differ from routers, and how to make an access point out of a router. You will not find any specific, step-by-step instructions in this article. Later, in a separate article, I will write about how to use a Wi-Fi router in AP (Access Point) mode.

I think you first need to find out what a router is (aka a router). This is a network device that allows you to organize the connection of many devices to the Internet. The router distributes IP addresses for devices, distributes the Internet between connected devices, combines them into a local network, connects to an Internet provider, and manages all this. I wrote in more detail on this topic in the article: what is a router.

First of all, the access point is a separate device. A router and an access point are not the same thing. Yes, they are similar in many ways. We can say that an access point is a stripped down, simpler version of a router. The fact is that a wireless access point is designed to connect devices to an already created network. Its task is simply to organize a connection to the Internet via Wi-Fi. Also, it can work in different modes: wireless client, bridge, repeater, access point. It all depends on the specific model.

You can see a small overview of the TP-LINK EAP120 access point.

The access point does not distribute IP, does not connect to an ISP, does not have a built-in firewall, etc. It simply receives Internet from a router or modem and distributes it via Wi-Fi. Some commercially available wireless access points can distribute IP, organize a separate network, and even connect to an Internet provider. But, only via Static IP, or DHCP. Most likely, you can’t do without a router or modem. And one more important point, the access point has only one network connector. So, it does not distribute the Internet via cable.

For example, if you need to distribute the Internet via Wi-Fi from an ADSL modem, or expand an existing Wi-Fi network, then in this case an access point is perfect. For this they are created. As I wrote above, many models can work in client mode, or in repeater mode. Many modern routers can also work in all these modes.

In access point mode, we connect it to a router or modem via a network cable, and get access to the Internet via a Wi-Fi network. If you want to connect a wireless access point “over the air”, then you can configure the bridge mode (WDS), or in repeater mode. You need to look at what works best for you in particular.

Router and access point

The router itself also acts as an access point, it allows you to connect to a Wi-Fi network. In addition, almost every router can operate in AP mode. For some manufacturers, for example, ASUS, ZyXEL, this mode is simply enabled in the router settings. Later, I will definitely write detailed instructions for setting up this mode of operation on routers from different manufacturers.

In access point mode, the distribution of IP addresses (DHСP), firewall, and IP address translation (NAT) is necessarily disabled on the router. It just disables a few features of the router, and it turns into an Access Point.

On some routers, there is no AP mode as such. There you just need to manually disable the DHCP server, and perform a few more settings.

Pins

If you do not know what kind of device you need, a router or an access point, then it is better to ask knowledgeable people, or buy a regular router. Buy an access point only if you know for sure that it suits you.

Almost any router can operate in Access Point mode. And the access point itself cannot act as a router. It lacks many of the features that a regular router has.

By the way, an ordinary laptop or a computer with a Wi-Fi adapter can also be turned into a wireless access point. I already wrote how to start an access point in Windows 10. And if you have Windows 7, then see this article.

That’s all. If you have any questions, you can leave them in the comments. Best wishes!

Cooking Options Twice as Nice with New GE Double-Oven Gas Ranges

  • GE’s newest double-oven gas range boasts the largest capacity in the industry
  • New Tri-Ring burner can go from a simmer at 140 degrees to a power boil, all in one burner
  • Industry-leading oven capacity fits in common 30-inch kitchen space

LOUISVILLE, Ky. –(BUSINESS WIRE)–GE introduces the largest capacity free-standing gas double-oven ranges in the market, boasting an industry-leading 6.7 cubic feet of combined capacity along with enhanced, high-performance cooktops. Preference for double-oven ranges continues to grow as consumers see for themselves the flexibility and convenience of two ovens versus one

Home cooks have the flexibility to use a single oven for small, weekday meals or use both ovens for larger meals or batch cooking on the weekends for the rest of the week. The extra capacity of two ovens is particularly helpful when entertaining or around the holidays when people are preparing meals for large crowds and baking more frequently.

In addition to the largest combined capacity, GE’s new gas models also have the largest top oven at 2.4 cubic feet and bottom oven at 4.3 cubic feet, which means home cooks can easily prepare a main course, all the side items and dessert all at the same time. The industry average for free-standing consumer gas double ovens is 5. 9 cubic feet of combined capacity. The average single-oven gas range in the market has 5.0 cubic feet of cooking capacity.

“Sometimes more is better,” said Julie Muennich, GE product manager. “Increased cooking capacity and the ability to simultaneously prepare multiple dishes at different temperatures means multitasking has never been easier. Home cooks can get more creative with their menus, cook more items, and still spend more time with their family or guests.”

Benefits of two ovens

  • Consumers can grill, broil, bake and steam all at the same time without having to worry about flavors mixing in the same oven or some food getting cold while the rest of the meal finishes.
  • The upper oven preheats faster, using less energy, which makes it more efficient and convenient to cook small, frequent meals. It is also ideal for cooking meats, pizzas, side dishes, baking cakes and cookies, reheating leftovers, or keeping foods warm.
  • The lower oven features GE’s PreciseAirTM convection system, which includes a reversing fan that changes direction every 70 seconds, surrounded by a third cooking element for even browning, baking and roasting all menu items, large and small.
  • Additional features include high-gloss black interiors on both ovens and easy-to-clean inner doors.
  • Both ovens are self-cleaning.

“For most people double ovens are all about versatility and convenience, the ability to cook lots of food more efficiently,” said Muennich. “But double ovens save time and money regardless of meal size or the size of your family. Every day, you have the flexibility to use just as much oven as you need when you need it. You can cook a five-course meal all at the same time or efficiently cook five day’s worth of meals in one day then heat and serve throughout the week.”

Double the value with high-performance cooktops

  • Several models feature the new, uniquely designed 20,000 BTU Tri-Ring burner that offers consumers power boiling to a 140 degree simmer all in one burner.
  • New models also feature five cooktop burners, including an oval center burner for even heat distribution over large, rectangular pans and griddles.
  • A control lockout to prevent unintended operation — especially important as more generations are living together.

The GE® JGB870DET/SET 30-inch double-oven gas range with convection is available in black, white and stainless steel, starting at an estimated retail price of $1,799*. The GE Profile™ PGB995DET/SET 30-inch double-oven gas range with convection is available in black, white and stainless steel, starting at an estimated retail price of $2,199*. How to choose a gas stove with a gas oven

Mikhail Kozlitin, head of the maintenance service of the VDGO JSC “Stavropolgorgaz” , will tell us how to choose a gas stove with an oven, who, on duty, every day deals with such equipment.

Today, gas stoves and electric ovens are more in demand among consumers than solid four-burner gas stoves. This choice is explained by the fact that it is certainly more convenient to cook food on a gas panel or stove, but gas ovens are inferior in their functionality to electric ones. As a rule, gas ovens are more expensive, but, unlike electric ones, food burns in them more often, since they cannot constantly keep the same set temperature.

When choosing a gas stove and gas hob, pay attention to the package contents. For safety, it must be equipped with a “gas control” system that stops the gas supply if the flame goes out for any reason. This system helps prevent gas leakage and protects against the risk of fire or explosion.

In accordance with Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 410 dated May 14, 2013, only representatives of a specialized organization with which the owner of the dwelling has a contract for maintenance and repair of gas equipment. Independent connection and replacement of gas appliances entail penalties in the form of fines or suspension of gas supply. As a rule, during installation, gas stoves and panels are connected to an existing gas pipeline using a flexible hose. It must be made only from certified materials and have a length of 1 or 1.5 m. After installing gas appliances, it is necessary to carry out their maintenance annually. This requirement is regulated by the current legislation and is aimed at ensuring the safety of gas consumers.

Five important factors to consider when buying:

Size

How big is the space that the device needs to take up? While there are general sizes that you are likely to find in product descriptions for different brands, don’t assume your choice will fit in the same space that the previous model occupied in the kitchen. Depth matters too – no one needs a stove that sticks out a few inches from kitchen cabinets.

Reliability

Do you want to continue using the purchased device for five years or more? Choose a brand and model that is highly regarded for reliability. You should also choose a brand that offers a strong warranty covering both electronic and mechanical defects should they occur. This will not only protect you in case of any problems, but also clearly hint at the company’s commitment to working in good faith. If a brand offers an inconclusive warranty, it’s probably because their devices give inconclusive results.

Features

Gas stoves can offer a wide range of functions in addition to their basic cooking ability. Whether it’s simple control knobs, touch controls, automatic on/off for low temperature boiling. Don’t underestimate the power of extra features to make your cooking experience more enjoyable.

Design

Everyone wants their kitchen to look good, right? Don’t skimp on style when it comes to your range of choice. Whether you choose the popular and modern stainless steel look or something more distinctive, you have to consider your personal style as well as your kitchen. Plus, any existing fixtures you want to match.

Safety

Some high quality gas stoves have special safety features built in, including automatic ignition if the flame goes out. If safety is a top priority for you, be sure to keep that in mind when purchasing.

Sauna gas stove – pros and cons

CALCULATE ESTIMATE

Having your own solid bath is the dream of almost every person living in a private house. But, as you know, the construction of a bath is not an easy task, requiring certain knowledge and skills. As practice shows, more and more often in recent years, foreign building technologies are used in the construction of a bath.

Modern steam rooms have changed significantly both in appearance and in a number of characteristics, they are not at all like the original Russian baths. The classic stove-heater, which requires the creation of a foundation and the allocation of a considerable area, is becoming a thing of the past. Today, as a rule, preference is given to innovative equipment, which allows you not to think about the process of operation of all devices.

Gas-fired metal stoves are currently leading the market and are used as special equipment for saunas, hammams and Russian steam rooms.

Design features of gas furnace equipment

In terms of their design, gas stoves do not differ significantly from wood-burning or electric sauna stoves. But, despite this, they have some functional features associated with the chemical and physical properties of the fuel used for operation. The design of this unit includes the main body, a thermostat and a fuse that automatically stops the gas supply. Directly under the stones is a gas sealed burner. A device of this type requires the creation of a chimney. But, specifically in this case, the fuel is supplied through a special gas line. In accordance with the established safety rules, liquefied gas cylinders are placed in a special safety container, which is mounted at the required distance from the bathhouse and the residential building.

Mounting requirements

Instructions for use and safety precautions require compliance with a number of conditions when installing a gas stove:

  • between the wall and the heating device, the distance must be at least fifty centimeters;
  • the refractory base must necessarily protrude from the edges of the equipment by at least ten centimeters;
  • the fuel inlet and the opening for the burner must have dimensions without a lining: width – 35-45 cm, height – 47-55 cm. And with a lining: width – 51.5-66.5 cm, height – 61.5-68 cm ;
  • when installing the stove, the front side and the burner must be guided through a special opening having a width of 40-46 cm and a height of 55-65 cm;
  • near the device, it is advisable to install fences made of refractory materials that will prevent convective exchange;
  • the dressing room (whose height is at least 2 m 20 cm) must be equipped with exhaust ventilation. Note that the doors in it should open only outward, and not inward;
  • the total length of the chimney (from the burner) must be at least five meters, the joints between the chimney and the stove must be airtight.

Advantages

High economy. All the characteristics of gas sauna stoves declared by the manufacturer are manifested both at the time of their installation and during further operation. Equipment of this type is economical for heating a bath room, the area of \u200b\u200bwhich does not exceed fifteen square meters. For high-quality operation of the furnace, installed in a steam room of such an area, it is necessary to lay out two hundred kilograms of stones. After the steam room is completely warmed up, the gas can be turned off. The heat emanating from such a number of stones will be quite enough to comfortably spend time and take a steam bath in the bath for four hours.
Extended functionality. The gas sauna stove can be used both for heating a steam room and for heating water. For this purpose, the equipment has a special tank for hot water, which is heated solely by the combustion products of the fuel exiting through the chimney. All gas stoves differ from each other in the way the water tank is arranged, which can be placed above and below the heater. The chimney in both cases passes directly through this tank.
High efficiency. Bath gas stoves, differing in application and power, are characterized by very efficient use of fuel. We note an important point: for every 0.4 meters of area there should be 250 kcal of energy. When the stove is completely fired up, the energy consumption is significantly reduced, because the heated stones are excellent at retaining heat for a long time. During one heating season, a five cubic capacity of propane-butane is able to maintain heat in a room up to two hundred meters in area. Thus, the consumption of fuel (gas) for a bath during the year is relatively small.
Fast heating. The gas sauna stove is able to very quickly increase t in the steam room to the required level. The rate of heating of the walls of the room largely depends on the time of year. In summer, it takes up to three to four hours to warm up, in winter it takes much more time. The resulting heat is able to gently and gently envelop a person steaming in a bath. Using a gas oven, you can get any ratio of air temperature and humidity. After a quick heating of the heat-releasing side of the unit, the heat of the furnace is almost instantly transferred to the stones, as well as to the internal and adjacent rooms. The stones themselves will maintain a stable temperature in the steam room, being a powerful heat generator.

Defects

The main disadvantages of gas sauna stoves include the impossibility of their installation without the presence of a gas-cylinder station or a centralized gas supply. But, having previously coordinated the project with the competent authorities, it is possible to install a gas heater even in an ordinary city apartment, the entire interior of which is sheathed, for example, with a pine or linden board. Installation of gas equipment is carried out with strict observance of all requirements. When creating an autonomous gas supply for a steam room, it should be remembered that gas is a fuel that has very high safety requirements for use.

THE 8 BEST PORTABLE WI-FI HOTPOTS OF 2021, ACCORDING TO REVIEWS Even though more companies are adopting flexible vacation and paid time off policies, email verification at an LLC is often expected.

Or if your current gig requires frequent travel for meetings and presentations with clients – reliable and affordable Wi-Fi is not only appreciated, but essential. Many remote workers and business travelers rely on a hotspot to stay connected, no matter where their work or wanderlust takes them.

These small devices allow you to transmit wireless Internet signal to countless countries and solve many problems. But access points are not entirely intuitive, especially if you have no experience of changing SIM cards abroad. As with a phone, when you land at a new location, you will need to purchase a SIM card and activate your data in order to use the internet. While some brands offer an easier pay-as-you-go option, most rely on location. This Internet won’t always have the same speed you’ll find in a co-working space, at home or at work, but in most cases it’s 4G.

use all over world, but connectivity varies greatly depending on your GPS location. “They’re not foolproof,” she said. “Obviously, they will work much better in the city than on a safari in the African bush or sailing on a boat in the middle of the Adriatic Sea.”

And if you’re tempted to watch Netflix or Hulu to unwind after a day of meetings or sightseeing, you’ll quickly gobble up the data. Some providers – from Verizon to AT&T – may offer unlimited data, but it won’t come cheap. If you have an international data plan, you can use your phone as a hotspot, giving you almost instant internet access on your laptop (tablet or camera). It’s the choice of Tatham, who uses this method to update her social media but then buys a local simulator to make sure she can reliably meet her deadline.

Her biggest tip is to read the details and reviews: “You need something that can be reloaded inexpensively. There are many companies that charge outrageously restocking fees and can empty your wallet. A better option might be hotspots that allow you to either just recharge with your local ISP or use one of the hotspots that gives you unlimited internet access.”

Below you will see our selection of the best mobile Wi-Fi devices. It’s important to note that you’ll need to look into an internet access plan or subscription (or get a SIM card) to be able to use them. You will also be limited to the coverage area of the provider you choose, so research which countries they offer internet service in before signing up.

Portable router or mobile hotspot?

Portable Wi-Fi router for your mobile Internet

Portable Wi-Fi router is a device that is both a modem and a router in which There is a dedicated slot for a SIM card. It allows you to organize access to the Internet for several devices at once. Moreover, not only a smartphone or tablet can be connected to a portable router, but also any device equipped with a Wi-Fi module, such as, for example, a laptop. Allows you to use the Internet where there is no access to the services of cable providers. It can be used on the road, in the country or when traveling abroad. While roaming internationally, you can purchase a SIM card with a local operator’s internet package and simply insert it into your travel Wi-Fi router, providing yourself, family members or friends with internet. In this case, you do not need to change the SIM card of the home mobile operator in your smartphone.

Portable router vs mobile hotspot

Let’s figure out what is the difference between a portable Wi-Fi router and a mobile hot spot and which is better? A hot spot helps out well in a situation where, for example, in a cafe, for some reason, the mobile Internet disappears for all your companions except you. In this case, using the hotspot function, you share your Internet. However, at the same time, the traffic speed is also divided among all users, which slows it down. Because the more users, the lower the data download speed. There is one more nuance – a stable connection to the hot spot is possible at a distance of about 10 meters.

In the case of a portable Wi-Fi router, the situation is different. First, no matter how many devices or users are connected to it, the traffic speed is not reduced. Secondly, depending on the model of the device, the Wi-Fi signal coverage can be from 10 to 30 meters, which expands the use of your portable Wi-Fi. Another plus in its favor is that most models have a connector for connecting an external antenna. This allows you to use the device in a bad signal area. Thus, we conclude that using a mobile hotspot is best as a temporary solution, while portable Wi-Fi will be a reliable source of Internet on your trips, travels or in places where there is no cable Internet connection.

Internet in roaming from POND mobile

In order for you not to experience discomfort from the lack of Internet while traveling, the international operator POND mobile has prepared several Global Data tariff plans with high-speed Internet for international roaming, which cover more than 200 countries.

Once you learn more about these fossil Pokémon, you’ll be well on your way to mastering the game. We’ve got facts and tips for all seven generations, so whatever game you’re playing these days, we’ve got you covered. Here are 15 Fossil Pokemon Facts You Didn’t Know.

fifteenDevon Corporation invented methods to revive fossil Pokémon

In the Pokémon world, the idea of resurrecting fossils into real Pokémon was first invented by Devon Corporation, presumably in one of their research labs on Cinnabar Island , Kanto region, south of the city Pallet, although the company is based in Rustborough. Hoenn.

In the Generation VI games, you can actually visit the Hoenn head office and check out their Pokémon Producer Machine. This machine collects the DNA found in the fossil by placing it in a capsule filled with orange creation fluid. The supercomputer then creates a blueprint for that Pokémon, and the corporation grows a new Pokémon from that extracted DNA.

In Generations I and III, you can only bring your fossils to life by visiting the Devon Corporation laboratory on Cinnabar Island. In Generations II and IV, the gamer learns that a volcano erupted on the island, the original gym was relocated to the Seafoam Islands, and the once-famous tech shelter no longer exists.

14 Fossil Pokémon are always Rock-type

Once you’ve successfully acquired a live Pokémon fossil, it’s useful to know that all Fossil Pokémon are at least partially Rock-type, if not entirely.

There are two theories as to why this is so; for one, the original Pokémon that became a fossil was originally a Rock-type, and it is this Rock-type DNA that allows it to become a fossil in the first place. Another theory is that being stony is a side effect of being reborn from a fossil.

Whatever the reason, he will be a rock type, or at least partly rock type! Rock-type Pokémon don’t have the best defenses and are especially susceptible to Grass-type and Water-type Pokémon. However, in offensive properties, they are almost unparalleled, they are opposed only by combat, ground and steel. Plus, if it’s only part rock type, any other Pokemon type can counteract the rock type’s disadvantages. Kobuto, for example, reborn from a fossil dome, is a water type, not part of a stone type.

13Kranidos is the only pure rock-type fossil Pokémon.

Cranidos (evolves into Rampardos at level 30) is the only fossil-type Pokémon in all games that respawns as a pure rock-type Pokémon.

This has its advantages and disadvantages. The upside is that this means Cranidos is an incredibly rare Pokémon. In order to get the Skull Fossil that resurrects Cranidos, you must travel to Eterna City and collect the Explorer’s Kit from the man in the house next to the Bicycle Shop. Then you have to go to the Dungeon, mine the walls, and you can only get the Skull Fossil if your trainer ID is an odd number.

The disadvantages of Rock-type Pokémon have already been outlined above, but the advantage of getting Cranidos is that in addition to being rare, they will also have incredible strength and great attacking moves.

Cranidos becomes available only in Generation IV games and is most notable for its iron head that can smash rocks and trees.

12 Fossil Pokémon are really rare and hard to catch

Since the process of finding fossils and then resurrecting them is such a long and complicated process that varies greatly from series to series, Fossil Pokémon are very rare!

In Gen I games, since fossils are key items and not just items, they can’t even be traded outside of the game, making them rarer. In Generation 2, fossils are so rare they don’t exist, and the only Fossil Pokémon available in the game is Chansey’s in-game trade with an NPC in Kanto. This is an exchange for Aerodactyl.

In total, only eleven fossils were found in the entire series, from generation I to generation VII. So, despite the minor drawbacks of Rock-type Pokémon, the rarity of these Pokémon certainly makes up for it. Because of this, few trainers have Fossil Pokémon, which makes this type of Pokémon even more desirable.

eleven Before Generation IV, fossils were key items

In Generations I and III, fossils are key items, which means they can only be used once and cannot be traded outside of the game. (This of course does not apply to Generation II because you cannot mine).

Only in Generation IV do fossils become a little more accessible, although the hoops you have to jump through to get them seem a lot more difficult. However, they are more accessible because fossils are no longer considered key items; they are just Items, which means you can trade them outside of the game.

Because fossils are so rare, you probably never want to drop your fossil, even in post-Gen III games. So there’s another benefit to turning fossils into items rather than keystones: freeing up space in your backpack.

In general, however, this transition is not a big deal, it indicates that starting from generation IV, fossil and fossil Pokémon will become more diverse!

10The first three fossils were discovered simultaneously in Generation I

Unlike later generations, this is the only Generation I owned Pokémon game that features three, not two, Fossils. These are a spiral, a dome and old amber fossils.

Fossil Helix becomes Omanite, part rock, part water, which evolves into Omastar at level 40. Fossil Dome becomes Kabuto, part rock, part water, which evolves into Kabutops at level 40. The amber fossil becomes an Aerodactyl, a somewhat volatile rock-type that can Mega Evolve into a Mega Aerodactyl.

In these games, you first see a fossil Pokémon when you encounter dragon-possessed Trainer Lance as the last member of the Elite Four. He has a level 60 Aerodactyl.

The spiral and dome fossils are at the end of the mountain. The moon is under the protection of a super botanist. Unfortunately, the player can only keep one fossil, so choose wisely! Meanwhile, Old Amber is part of the Tin Science Museum. You will need the HM01 Cut to access the location.

9In the anime, fossil Pokémon just went dormant for millions of years

Apart from card games and video games, the most popular offshoot of the Pokémon franchise was the original. anime TV show. Interestingly, in these representations, the process of reviving fossils is different from how it works in video games.

Instead of using the Pokémon Producer Machine, the fossils just went dormant for millions of years! The Pokémon is technically experiencing a “new life” now, but retains some memories from its “past life”.

The show’s methods of turning fossils into fossil Pokémon are far more arbitrary than those in the games. For example, in one episode, Archen was revived by Musharna’s “sleep energy”. In other episodes, it’s not entirely clear exactly how the Fossil turns into a Pokémon. While this ambiguity is frustrating in games, anime can do whatever it wants, really, and “dream energy” sounds pretty cool anyway.

8Aerodactyl is the only fossil Pokémon that can Mega Evolve

Of all the fossil Pokémon, Aerodactyl differs from the rest in its unique evolutionary process. Where most other fossil Pokémon eventually evolve, usually around level 40, Aerodactyl stays the same throughout the game.

However, in the Generation VI games, the Mega Evolution process was introduced, and Aerodactyl became the only Pokémon fossil capable of this kind of evolution. This is a rare attribute for Aerodactyl considering only 46 types of Pokemon are capable of it!

Megaevolving will essentially improve every aspect of your Pokémon, and its base stat will always be increased by 100 points to what it was in its original stat total. To deliver Aerodactyl to Mega Evolve, the Pokémon itself will need to hold their personal Mega Stone, and you, as the Trainer, will need to hold the Keystone. Mega Stones are very hard to find and look like sparks rather than objects on the ground.

7In Generation III, you will need a Mach bike to get Fossil Pokémon

In the Generation III series ( Ruby, Sapphire , and Emerald ), two more fossils have been added to the existing collection: a root fossil and a claw fossil, which respectively turn into Lilip (part stone type, part Zhukovsky) and anorite ( partly water, partly stone).

But with the advent of these games, the process of finding fossils becomes much more difficult than in the generation I games. In Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire , you must head east from the city of Lavaridge, to a desert area where there is a crumbling tower. The fossils are on the top floor of the tower, but you’ll need a match bike to get there. In the end, to revive the fossils, you need to go to the city of Rustboro, like in the first generation.

When faced with a choice between a fossil root and a claw, you can only choose one. The other one will appear in Fossil maniac’s house after you defeat Elite 4 and defeat him.

6In Generation IV, there are several ways to find fossils

In the Generation IV game series, fossils are introduced separately in Diamond and Pearl ; Fossil Skull (Cranidos) is only available in Diamond and Armor Fossil (Shieldon) is only available in Pearl. At Platinum Meanwhile, the fossil you dig depends on whether your trainer ID is an even or odd number.

You can find fossils in different places in these games; in Sonnoh they are in hiding. Other rare items can be found here, including the National Pokédex. Once you find this item, you will be able to find all the other fossils featured in the Generation I and Generation III game series.

You can then find the Generation I Fossils in Johto, where you have to smash rocks near Alpha Ruins. Generation III Fossils can be found by performing the same action in Cliff Cave. Generation IV is when fossils become less rare as they have now moved from Key Items to Common Items.

To bring the fossils to life, you must go to the Orebourg Mining Museum.

5In Generation V, you will find fossils in the castle of relics and revive them in the museum of the banker

In the more recent Generation V game series, the process of getting fossils remains difficult, and the picture shows two new fossils: the Cover Fossil, which spawns in Tirtug, and Plum’s Fossil, which spawns in Archen. There are now nine Fossils that you can turn into Pokémon Fossils, so trade!

In the first batches of Generation V Pokémon Black and Pokémon White , you can only get one of the two fossils from someone in the Relic Castle, so choose wisely. However, in their sequels, you can get fossils from Lenora’s Gym Leader.

Gen I, III and IV Fossils can only be obtained after you defeat Heghzis and Iris, and you can get them from a worker in Twist Mountain.

To turn fossils into Pokémon in these games, you must go to the Nacren City Museum and then use the Pokémon Making Machine.

4In Generation VI, Breaking Rocks Are Key to Fossiling

In Generation VI, your collection of Fossils, and therefore Fossil Pokémon, should grow significantly as Breaking Rocks becomes the main method of obtaining them (in Glittering Cave and only after conquering Elite 4 ). Here you can collect dome, spiral, claw, root, feather, shelter, skull and armor fossils.

Here again are two new fossils: a jaw fossil that spawns in Tirunt and a sail fossil that spawns in Amaur. You can only get one of these fossils by going to the Glittering Cave, and you must revive it into a Pokémon at the Research Facility in Umbrette City.

Generation VI games reintroduce old amber, and you can also find Mega Evolve and turn your Aerodactyl into Mega Aerodactyl. After endless generations of Aerodactyl failed to evolve like other fossil Pokémon, this is an exciting move for rock-type Pokémon and flying Pokémon!

3In Generation VII, you can just buy fossils

Remember the good old days when you had to look for fossils everywhere and then go on another journey to turn them into Pokémon? Well, no more searching!

in the Generation VII Game Series ( Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Luna ), the process becomes much easier. To get fossils in these games, all you have to do is head to the Stone Shop in KoniKoni town. As long as you have money, you will have fossils because you just have to buy them!

In Pokemon Sun , you can only buy Skull and Shroud Fossils, and in Pokemon Moon , you can only buy fossils and armor. You will have to trade to get all four.

To turn fossils into Pokémon, you must go to the Pokémon Center on Highway 8, turn right into the forest area and find a person in his van who will revive them for you.

two Archen / Archeops – the only fossil Pokemon without hidden abilities

If you are a true hardcore Pokémon fan who has played all of the game series above, then you should now be quite familiar with the collection of fossil Pokémon that the Pokémon franchise has given us.

However, it is still surprising that some Pokemon are not like others. In the case of fossil Pokémon, it still seems like Aerodactyl was the lone wolf in the pack. But actually it is not.

Archen, which evolves from the Feather Fossil and then evolves to Archeops at level 37, is the only fossil Pokémon that doesn’t have hidden abilities! Luckily for Archen/Archeops, this part-rock type, part-flying Pokemon is so fast and smart that the lack of hidden abilities doesn’t really matter, considering its hidden abilities are so good! Not to mention, given that some latent abilities can sometimes be a hindrance, this could be an advantage for Archen’s revival.

1Most fossil Pokémon are inspired by extinct creatures from the real world

Have you ever played the Pokémon game and think wow, is that surprisingly insightful or accurate? Fans have long drawn parallels with the Pokémon franchise to Japanese insect-catching culture, technological innovation, or bird-watching culture.

When it comes to Pokémon fossils, parallels can be drawn with the world of paleontology. Indeed, some Pokémon fossils are very similar to real extinct creatures, insects, fish and reptiles, as well as mammals and dinosaurs.

For example, Anorith / Armaldo was inspired by the extinct aquatic creature Anomalocaris. Kabuto/Kabutops took inspiration from an extinct group of invertebrates called trilobites. Lileep/Cradily is based on crinoids that appeared during the Ordovician period, and it’s no surprise that Omanyte/Omastar is inspired by a 400 million year old group of invertebrate ammonites. And, of course, Aerodactyl is clearly inspired by the extinct pterosaur.

Who knew what was playing Pokémon will lead to such an educational experience? This is only to be expected when we’re talking about Pokémon fossils.

Wear OS 3 should be better – Crast.net

Wear OS had a rocky past, but with Wear OS 3 things are finally starting to get better. The first Fossil smartwatch to run on this platform, the Fossil Gen 6 Wellness Edition is a $3 Wear OS 300 smartwatch, which is disappointing.

Fossil Gen 6 Wellness Edition is a smartwatch based on the same hardware platform as last year’s Fossil Gen 6 smartwatch. It has a similar but sportier design than the standard Gen 6 watch and the same built-in features: size 44mm case with a round AMOLED touchscreen, two buttons and a rotating crown, main health sensors including a heart rate monitor, and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 4100+ processor.

From a hardware standpoint, this is a fairly simple proposition. The watch is designed to be lightweight; The chassis as a whole looks like this. I like the subtle matte black. The rotating crown is also exceptionally smooth. Also, it uses a traditional spring-pin strap, which I can definitely appreciate after shelling out a lot of money for Google’s Pixel Watch.

This is a solid base package for Wear OS watches, but the big difference from last year’s version is in the software. According to the leak, the Fossil Gen 6 Wellness Edition runs on Wear OS 3, the latest and greatest version of Google’s smartwatch platform. It’s the same underlying software that powers the Pixel Watch, Galaxy Watch 4/5, and Montblanc Summit 3.

Wear OS 3 is faster, has better battery life, and fewer bugs than previous versions. The Fossil setup for the platform is also minimal. You’ll also find orange accents in Fossil’s dedicated battery-saving mode – more on battery life later – and in some pre-loaded apps like Amazon Alexa, Cardiogram, and Fossil’s Wellness Health Suite.

The overall experience is remarkably similar to the Google Pixel Watch and, for that matter, many old Fossil smartwatches. Swiping down from the watch face opens Settings, swiping up reveals your notifications, and swiping in any horizontal direction now reveals “tiles” (widgets). Pressing the crown opens the app drawer, while the top button now shows recent apps. The bottom button is customizable to open the app of your choice.

Unfortunately, although the overall software has improved, performance has not improved. The first two days of using the Fossil Gen 6 Wellness Edition were tough to say the least. Apps loaded slowly, the interface was generally cluttered, and I wasn’t at all happy with the experience. Once I even had to reset the watch because it thought it was connected to my Pixel 7 Pro, but my phone didn’t agree and I kept asking the watch to connect. was. This is a bug I’ve run into on Wear OS before, mostly on Fossil watches, and I’m very disappointed that it still exists.

Performance improved after a day or two, but it’s still the roughest experience I’ve ever had on Wear OS 3. Like the Montblanc Summit 3, the Pixel Watch runs a lot smoother. Since the Fossil watch is only equipped with 1GB of RAM, it’s easy to see why the Pixel Watch performs better, but Montblanc’s superior performance shows that this seems to be due to optimization issues.

Is productivity the deciding factor? I don’t think so – not so Completely she is wrong. Still, Wear OS 3 should be better than this.

Another software issue has to do with this smartwatch’s namesake, Fossil’s Health Kit. To be honest, it’s not very good.

The health app can track steps, heart rate, sleep, exercise and other basic statistics. All of this data is synced to the Fossil app on your phone, which you’ll use to pair this watch with your phone – the old Wear OS app no longer works. The data presented is fine and seems to be the same as my Fitbit Sense 2 on my other wrist, but this is a very limited subset of information. You get more with Google Fit, which is not currently compatible with this watch, and with Fitbit, also at the free tier of the latter.

For a smartwatch that takes its name from this set of health data, this is a truly disappointing experience. This is handy for getting a quick view of your data in real time, but it’s minimal help in terms of helping you identify data trends that the data is really useful for. Luckily, the Fossil app has Google Fit integration so you can sync this data to other devices if you want.

Don’t clutter, but the other problem I had was with dials. In general, I like Fossil watch faces, but the options for this product are extremely limited and few of them really suit my style. One face I liked, “Fitness Digital”, didn’t even work properly. It showed time and heart rate correctly, but my steps, calories, and miles traveled were stuck on the first day, and took days to finally update, even through reboots. Again, Wear OS 3 should be better.

Now let’s talk about battery life. it’s Good . While I had a few first days where I could finish the Wellness Edition in a matter of hours, I get a solid battery life of 18 to 24 hours on this watch with the always-on display off. In my testing, turning on AOD around 12 o’clock seems to kill hours easily. This is not so Good Battery life, but it has one saving moment.

Fossil’s contact-based charging method is much faster than the wireless options used by the Galaxy Watch 5 and Pixel Watch. In addition, this new generation of the Fossil system solves past problems with falling off charging rings on older smartwatches.

Fossil claims to charge to 80% in 30 minutes, which is roughly in line with my tests. I went into a charging rhythm once in the morning for 15-30 minutes and once before bed if needed to track sleep. Even while travelling, I only had one day where the battery ran out and it turned out to be due to my use of a dead USB port at the hotel. Again, battery life isn’t great here, but the charging more than makes up for it. I wish Google and Samsung used a similar system.

This is the Fossil app you will use to pair and control

One of my biggest concerns with the Fossil Gen 6 Wellness Edition is getting to know the new Fossil smartwatch. The brand bases its smartwatches from different brands on the same underlying platform and software and sticks to that for at least a year or two. In such a situation, this wellness edition smart watch is left behind. must Happen. If Fossil already had a Gen 7 platform, it would be relatively safe to assume that this smartwatch would be based on the faster and more efficient Snapdragon W5+ chip, which should result in better battery life and performance.

The Fossil Gen 6 Wellness Edition is a decent smartwatch to date, but I can’t think of a single reason why anyone should invest in it at full price.

The $50 price difference with Google’s Pixel Watch isn’t worth the fitness/wellness or lack of basic features like Google Assistant.

Wall Mount TV 90 005

■ Components required to mount the TV to the wall must be purchased separately from

corresponding store.

■ Install the unit close to the wall so that it does not tip over when pushed backwards.

■ The following are instructions for properly installing the unit by attaching the

securely to the wall so that it will not fall if you pull it towards you. This will prevent the

device from falling and causing injury to people, and also prevent damage to the device caused by

being dropped. Do not let children climb on or hang from the device. 92

Fasten the brackets securely to the wall with the screws. Align the height of

bracket.

Tie down the device with a strong cord. Tie cord

securely so that it runs horizontally between the wall and the unit.

NOTE

► When moving the device to another location, untie the cord first.
► Use a holder or cabinet large enough and strong enough to support the weight

devices.

► For safe use, make sure that the height of the wall brackets

matches the height of the device’s brackets.

If you’re making informed choices about the quality of the food you eat, you might also make informed choices about the quality of the water you drink. A new study by the U.S. Geological Survey estimates that “forever chemicals” can be found in 45% of tap water in the United States.

  • Related: How we choose our products

The EPA warns the substances, also known as per- and polyfluorinated substances (PFAS) are “long-lasting chemicals, components of which break down very slowly over time” and may be linked to harmful health effects in humans.

One way to help protect yourself from contaminants and reduce your overall exposure to unwanted substances? Experts say drink filtered water. (Some bottled water has been found to contain PFAS.) And while experts say Brita filters can remove some contaminants, you can also get filtered water and ice from your refrigerator. The CBS Essentials shopping experts have found the best refrigerators with water filters that might help reduce your intake of certain contaminants.

What are PFAS (forever chemicals)?

PFAS have been linked to a range of health problems, including certain forms of cancer. You may be able to reduce the amount of PFAS in your home’s water with a water filter. But not all water filters are the same.

“In general, refrigerator filters are designed to remove sediments, chlorine, lead and other common contaminants and not specifically PFAS compounds,” says Dr. Andrew Lazur, a University of Maryland water quality specialist. “That said, since some refrigerator filters use activated carbon, they can reduce some PFAS compounds, but may not achieve EPA or state-recommended concentrations.”

In other words, Lazur says that some fridge filters can reduce forever chemicals, but exactly how much may vary from product to product.

“Consumers should ask about the water filters used in the refrigerators, and inquire specifically about what contaminants are reduced, and by what percent,” Lazur told CBS Essentials. “Also asking about filter replacement schedule and cost may help in decision making.”

We also have a guide for standalone water filters here.

This task becomes even more difficult if you’re looking for a new refrigerator with a high-quality water filter system. Luckily, we’ve made it easy for you. What is a Water Filter?

Refrigerators that include a water or ice dispenser sometimes have a water filter included; whether they do or don’t is often determined by the appliance’s age. Older fridges are supplied with water from the water supply, and no filtration process occurs.

What Are the Benefits of a Water Filter?

Refrigerator water filters create better-tasting water that is clean and clear. Filters also remove potential bacteria, keeping you feeling happier and healthier.

The alternative to filtered water is bottled water which, while having the same health benefits, is much more expensive and time-consuming.

We need water every day to survive. It’s the one thing we need more than anything – so why settle for less than the best?

The innovative filter, using NASA technology, cleans bacteria and neutralizes ethylene gas inside the refrigerator compartment, which keeps food in the ICBBI-36UID fresher longer than in other refrigerators.

Fossil Pokémon are so rare that even trainers rarely have them. Read this list to learn how to become a true Pokémon Fossil Master!

Remember when you first started playing Pokemon and you stumble upon a fossil? For many, this acquisition of the item, at least in Gen I games. Blue, Red, Green , as well as Yellow , was pretty smooth. But it turns out that fossils are very useful key items, ranging from gen I games to gen VII games. If you know the steps and understand the different places in the games where you can find and evolve fossils, your Pokédex will suddenly get a lot better, as Fossil Pokémon are so rare that even trainers in the gym desire them, and few have them at all. .

Did we miss something important about Fossil? Pokémon ? Let us know about it in the comments!

              Using the ferrite core

(This accessory is not included with the TV for all countries.)

The ferrite core can be used to

              reduce electromagnetic vibrations when
