In order to adapt to the specifications of the latest televisions, which are increasingly low and borderless, audio manufacturers are increasing their efforts to offer ever thinner soundbars. Thickness is now an essential factor when choosing a soundbar that can be integrated under a new generation TV without masking the bottom of the screen. After studying the latest generation of TVs, we have concluded that the maximum height of a soundbar should be around 6cm. Therefore, here is a look at slim soundbars ideal for use with the latest generation of TVs. Are they as efficient as larger models?

Why choose a slim soundbar?
While the image quality of televisions continues to improve with OLED, QLED, QD-OLED and even Mini-LED technologies, sound often remains their Achilles’ heel. A soundbar is therefore the simplest and most harmonious way to substitute the sound of a television and enjoy a truly immersive and sometimes even spectacular listening experience. Aesthetically speaking, there are different types of soundbars. Most of them measure between 80 and 120cm long and are 5 to 15cm high. However, modern TVs adopt lowered feet, and the absence of a frame limits the space available under the TV. To avoid hiding the bottom of the screen, the height of soundbars is reduced from generation to generation. The thinnest models are now less than 6cm thick to fit perfectly in front of and/or under televisions.
With a height of just 3.5cm, the Philips Audio TAB6305 soundbar leaves the TV screen completely free.
The performance of compact soundbars
Ultra-thin soundbars range from simple stereo models to versions capable of delivering true 5.1, 7.1 or even Dolby Atmos/DTS:X sound. All variants exist, resulting in a more or less enveloping spatialization. The most compact soundbars such as the LG QP5 (5.9cm high and 29cm long) and JBL Bar 2.0 All In One (5.8cm high and 61cm long) offer stereo sound with at least two drivers. These 2.0 and 2.1 stereo soundbars (with subwoofer) generally adopt a digital processor (DSP) responsible for widening the soundstage by creating virtual surround sound. Most often, these compact soundbars are sold together with a wireless subwoofer to provide a more spectacular sound experience.

The most powerful silm soundbars manage to maintain a height of less than 6cm, while delivering true 3D sound in Dolby Atmos or DTS:X. The load volume is also maximized, for better bass performance. A few models, like the Bose Soundbar 900, even manage to provide powerful and deep bass without the need for an external subwoofer. They are therefore ideal for enjoying a true cinema experience, from a single piece of equipment that can be placed in front of the television. These longer models are often intended for televisions with a screen size of at least 43” (108cm).

Thin soundbars: the different models
Having recently appeared on the home theater market, slim soundbars are now a must-have. Bose, Denon, JBL, LG, Samsung and Yamaha are the main suppliers. From simple stereo bars to Dolby Atmos soundbars, they offer many models adapted to the needs of each user. Prices range from €100 to almost €1,500, depending on the features offered and the complexity of the on-board technologies.
Yamaha slim soundbars
The Yamaha YSP-2700 is the most powerful compact soundbar around. This model packs more than 16 1. 1″ drivers into a soundbar that is just 5.1cm thick and 94cm long. It decodes the majority of Dolby and DTS multi-channel sound formats via its HDMI and S/PDIF inputs. Thanks to its automatic microphone calibration system, this compact Yamaha bar creates a real sound bubble over 7.1 channels, without additional surround speakers!
A true technical feat, theYamaha YSP-2700houses more than 16 1.1″ drivers in a soundbar that is only 5.1cm thick.
Polk slim soundbars
Hi-Fi specialist Polk offers two compact soundbars for modern televisions. The 5.6cm thick Polk React forms an affordable and reliable solution for enjoying Dolby Digital and DTS tracks. It has a virtual surround mode to provide a more enveloping sound. The American manufacturer also offers the Polk Signa S4, an even more powerful model that is designed for music, TV shows and movies. It is compatible with Dolby Atmos to create very immersive 3D sound with 360° effects.
With a thickness of less than 6cm, thePolk Signa S4 soundbarfits easily in front of the TV, but can also be installed discreetly on the wall.
LG slim soundbars
The Korean manufacturer offers several compact soundbars, all Dolby Atmos compatible and accompanied by a wireless subwoofer. The LG QP5 is the most compact option on the market, with a height of 5.9cm and a width of only 29cm. It can be easily placed under any TV, but also on a shelf of an AV cabinet. This ultra-thin 320-watt LG soundbar supports Dolby Atmos and DTS:X tracks and uses the latest generation of Meridian digital signal processing technology to create a wide soundstage.
The LG QP5flat soundbar is capable of reproducing sound across 3.1.2 channels at only 29cm long and 5.9cm high. It therefore fits easily under a latest generation television and can even be placed in the niche of an AV cabinet.
For pairing with large TV models measuring 55” and above, the slim LG SP9YA soundbar is an excellent alternative. This is the most powerful model from the Korean manufacturer. This bar is capable of producing 5.1.2 channel sound with a height of only 5.7cm. It benefits from 520W of power, Dolby Atmos and DTS:X compatibility, and can even be combined with LG SPK8 surround speakers to create a real wireless home theater.

Bose slim soundbars
Specialist in multi-channel soundbars for many years, Bose offers one of the thinnest Dolby Atmos soundbars on the market (5.8cm) with the Bose Soundbar 900. The latter has 9 drivers, two of which are on the upper panel to deliver spatialized sound in all directions. The drivers work together with exclusive PhaseGuide technology that directs sound waves in multiple directions. To optimize the sound, this compact Bose bar features ADAPTiQ audio calibration and optimizes the spatialization of the effects according to the acoustic properties of the room and the position of the listener. The manufacturer also offers a more affordable model: the Bose TV Speaker. Less than 6cm high, it naturally finds its place under the TV, without hiding the bottom of the screen.

Samsung slim soundbars
Samsung has four thin soundbars in its catalog. They all come with a wireless subwoofer. The 5.4cm high Samsung HW-T420 and Samsung HW-A450 soundbars are the entry level models. The difference between these two models is mainly in terms of power: 150W for the Samsung HW-T420 and 300 watts for the Samsung HW-A450. The latter can also be combined with the Samsung SWA-9100S wireless surround speakers (sold separately) to enjoy true 4.1-channel surround sound.
Marketed at less than €130, theSamsung HW-T420is ideal for equipping yourself with a soundbar at a low price, capable of being easily installed under a television.
The brand’s midrange model, the Samsung HW-Q60T, is 5.8cm high and 98cm long. It reproduces Dolby and DTS tracks over 5.1 channels thanks to its 9 drivers and wireless subwoofer. It is Bluetooth compatible and can play audio and video files from a USB key.
With its wireless subwoofer, the ultra slimSamsung HW-Q60T soundbar(5.8cm high) offers 5.1 channel surround sound.
The Samsung HW-Q700A adopts a Dolby Atmos 3.1.2 channel configuration within a 6cm high and 98cm long enclosure. This Samsung soundbar has drivers dedicated to vertical effects that exploit Samsung Acoustic Beam technology: they project sounds to the ceiling which then reflects them towards the viewers, producing a particularly realistic vertical sound. It comes with a wireless subwoofer.
TheSamsung HW-Q700A flat soundbar(6cm thick) is a high-performance model equipped with a wireless subwoofer and numerous drivers to reproduce the three dimensional sound of Dolby Atmos and DTS:X soundtracks over 3. 1.2 channels.
Panasonic slim soundbars
The Japanese manufacturer Panasonic offers a single compact soundbar: the Panasonic SC-HTB200EG. A 2.1 version with wireless subwoofer is available under the Panasonic SC-HTB250EG reference. This second model is to be favored to enjoy a richer and more convincing experience during action scenes. The major advantage of this soundbar lies in its extreme compactness, with a thickness of only 5.1cm and a length of 45cm. It can be easily adapted to all TV screens, even small ones.
ThePanasonic SC-HTB250EG soundbar is an ultra-compact model designed above all for discretion. It is easily concealed under the television, just like its subwoofer which can be placed in the smallest corner of the living room.
JBL slim soundbars
JBL has understood the problem of lowered televisions for many years now. Most of its sound bars are thin enough to fit in front of the latest generation of TVs. The JBL lineup starts with the JBL Bar 2.0 All In One, an 80-watt stereo model. It measures 5.8cm high and 61cm long. To go further, the JBL Bar 5.0 Multibeam tops the range thanks to its 5.1 channel compatibility (wireless subwoofer) and totals 550 watts of power (250 watts for the sound bar and 300 watts for the subwoofer).

Sonos slim soundbars
At 6.9cm thick, the Sonos Beam (Gen 2) soundbar is slightly taller than previous models. However, it remains compact enough to fit under most televisions. This Dolby Atmos compatible bar has the advantage of being able to perform an acoustic calibration to optimize its performance. Ultra versatile, it can receive music wirelessly, access countless streaming services and be controled by voice.
Slightly higher (6. 9cm), theSonos Beam (Gen 2) soundbarremains a must for enhancing the sound of a television, while remaining visually very discreet.
Driven by ever-lower TVs, compact soundbars have become a lasting trend. The more imposing models such as the Devialet Dione, Sennheiser Ambeo SoundBar and Bang & Olufsen Beosound Stage, above all designed for wall mounting with a TV placed on a wall bracket, will be more complicated to use. They weren’t kidding when they said slim.

Samsung already revealed at CES back in January that its upcoming–and aptly named–Super Slim Soundbar would be just 1.6 inches thick, but that figure didn’t really register until I saw the ridiculously thin speaker in person last week.
Seeing it up close and personal at a hands-on event in Manhattan’s Meatpacking District, I was quite simply floored by the Ultra Thin Soundbar’s svelte, delicate design. It’s not so much a soundbar as a soundstick. I’ve never seen a soundbar quite like it.
While the Ultra Thin Soundbar is about the same width as a conventional soundbar–say, roughly 40 inches across–it’s only slightly thicker than your average closet rod. The Samsung exec I chatted with wasn’t quite sure of the soundbar’s exact weight, but after hefting it, we agreed that it couldn’t weigh more than eight pounds, if that.

Despite its super-slim and light design, the Ultra Thin Soundbar manages a 3.1.2 configuration, with the low frequencies coming courtesy of a compact, 6.5-inch wireless subwoofer. You’ll be able to upgrade the soundbar to a full 5.1.2 channels with a wireless surround speaker kit.
Two upfiring drivers for Dolby Atmos and DTS:X height cues are visible through the top speaker grille on either side. That means the soundbar bounces height effects off the ceiling rather than relying on virtualization for the height channels. I inquired about the quantity and size of the soundbar’s other drivers, but was told that Samsung “isn’t talking about that yet.”
Despite its super-slim design, the Ultra Slim Soundbar still packs upfiring drivers for Dolby Atmos and DTS:X height cues.

While the Ultra Slim Soundbar was on prominent display during Samsung’s hands-on event, it wasn’t actually demonstrated, so I can’t offer any initial impressions about its audio performance. With its slim but wide design, however, the Ultra Slim Soundbar may well have the edge on other compact soundbars that go for a narrower design, which means they often depend on virtual sound modes to widen their soundstages. I’ll need to actually hear it to be sure.
The Ultra Slim Soundbar can be wall-mounted, and at the Samsung event, one of the super-thin units was mounted under the latest version of The Frame (here’s our review of an earlier model of The Frame). The soundbar also comes with an appropriately slimmed-down remote that can sit unobtrusively on top of the speaker.

Not only is the Ultra Slim Soundbar’s remote small, its selection of inputs is small as well: specifically, there’s one USB-C-style HDMI-ARC port, and that’s it. A nearby microUSB connector is only for installing firmware updates.
Alongside–and in stark contrast to–the Ultra Slim Soundbar at the Samsung showcase was the manufacturer’s new, and massive, Q990B soundbar, an 11.1.4-channel behemoth that replaces 2021’s flagship, the Q950A.
The Ultra Slim Soundbar has only two inputs, one for HDMI-ARC and a second for service updates.

The Q990B retains the basic design and channel configuration of the Q950A, but its wireless surround speakers will come with a redesigned, slightly vaulted top, while its subwoofer comes with a new “acoustical lens design” that’s designed to deliver, deeper low-frequency performance.
The soundbar will also ship with Samsung’s revamped SpaceFit room calibration feature, which no longer needs help from a Samsung TV to detect the acoustics of a room.
Samsung has yet to reveal pricing for any of its 2022 soundbars, including the Ultra Slim Soundbar and the Q990B. That said, the units are expected to ship in the coming weeks.

Having recently appeared on the home theater market, slim soundbars are now a must-have. Bose, Denon, JBL, LG, Samsung and Yamaha are the main suppliers. From simple stereo bars to Dolby Atmos soundbars, they offer many models adapted to the needs of each user. Prices range from €100 to almost €1,500, depending on the features offered and the complexity of the on-board technologies.
Yamaha slim soundbars
The Yamaha YSP-2700 is the most powerful compact soundbar around. This model packs more than 16 1. 1″ drivers into a soundbar that is just 5.1cm thick and 94cm long. It decodes the majority of Dolby and DTS multi-channel sound formats via its HDMI and S/PDIF inputs. Thanks to its automatic microphone calibration system, this compact Yamaha bar creates a real sound bubble over 7.1 channels, without additional surround speakers!

Polk slim soundbars
Hi-Fi specialist Polk offers two compact soundbars for modern televisions. The 5.6cm thick Polk React forms an affordable and reliable solution for enjoying Dolby Digital and DTS tracks. It has a virtual surround mode to provide a more enveloping sound. The American manufacturer also offers the Polk Signa S4, an even more powerful model that is designed for music, TV shows and movies. It is compatible with Dolby Atmos to create very immersive 3D sound with 360° effects.
With a thickness of less than 6cm, thePolk Signa S4 soundbarfits easily in front of the TV, but can also be installed discreetly on the wall.
LG slim soundbars
The Korean manufacturer offers several compact soundbars, all Dolby Atmos compatible and accompanied by a wireless subwoofer. The LG QP5 is the most compact option on the market, with a height of 5.9cm and a width of only 29cm. It can be easily placed under any TV, but also on a shelf of an AV cabinet. This ultra-thin 320-watt LG soundbar supports Dolby Atmos and DTS:X tracks and uses the latest generation of Meridian digital signal processing technology to create a wide soundstage.
The LG QP5flat soundbar is capable of reproducing sound across 3.1.2 channels at only 29cm long and 5.9cm high. It therefore fits easily under a latest generation television and can even be placed in the niche of an AV cabinet.
For pairing with large TV models measuring 55” and above, the slim LG SP9YA soundbar is an excellent alternative. This is the most powerful model from the Korean manufacturer. This bar is capable of producing 5.1.2 channel sound with a height of only 5.7cm. It benefits from 520W of power, Dolby Atmos and DTS:X compatibility, and can even be combined with LG SPK8 surround speakers to create a real wireless home theater.

Bose slim soundbars
Specialist in multi-channel soundbars for many years, Bose offers one of the thinnest Dolby Atmos soundbars on the market (5.8cm) with the Bose Soundbar 900. The latter has 9 drivers, two of which are on the upper panel to deliver spatialized sound in all directions. The drivers work together with exclusive PhaseGuide technology that directs sound waves in multiple directions. To optimize the sound, this compact Bose bar features ADAPTiQ audio calibration and optimizes the spatialization of the effects according to the acoustic properties of the room and the position of the listener. The manufacturer also offers a more affordable model: the Bose TV Speaker. Less than 6cm high, it naturally finds its place under the TV, without hiding the bottom of the screen.

Samsung slim soundbars
Samsung has four thin soundbars in its catalog. They all come with a wireless subwoofer. The 5.4cm high Samsung HW-T420 and Samsung HW-A450 soundbars are the entry level models. The difference between these two models is mainly in terms of power: 150W for the Samsung HW-T420 and 300 watts for the Samsung HW-A450. The latter can also be combined with the Samsung SWA-9100S wireless surround speakers (sold separately) to enjoy true 4.1-channel surround sound.
Marketed at less than €130, theSamsung HW-T420is ideal for equipping yourself with a soundbar at a low price, capable of being easily installed under a television.
The brand’s midrange model, the Samsung HW-Q60T, is 5.8cm high and 98cm long. It reproduces Dolby and DTS tracks over 5.1 channels thanks to its 9 drivers and wireless subwoofer. It is Bluetooth compatible and can play audio and video files from a USB key.
With its wireless subwoofer, the ultra slimSamsung HW-Q60T soundbar(5.8cm high) offers 5.1 channel surround sound.
The Samsung HW-Q700A adopts a Dolby Atmos 3.1.2 channel configuration within a 6cm high and 98cm long enclosure. This Samsung soundbar has drivers dedicated to vertical effects that exploit Samsung Acoustic Beam technology: they project sounds to the ceiling which then reflects them towards the viewers, producing a particularly realistic vertical sound. It comes with a wireless subwoofer.
TheSamsung HW-Q700A flat soundbar(6cm thick) is a high-performance model equipped with a wireless subwoofer and numerous drivers to reproduce the three dimensional sound of Dolby Atmos and DTS:X soundtracks over 3. 1.2 channels.
Panasonic slim soundbars
The Japanese manufacturer Panasonic offers a single compact soundbar: the Panasonic SC-HTB200EG. A 2.1 version with wireless subwoofer is available under the Panasonic SC-HTB250EG reference. This second model is to be favored to enjoy a richer and more convincing experience during action scenes. The major advantage of this soundbar lies in its extreme compactness, with a thickness of only 5.1cm and a length of 45cm. It can be easily adapted to all TV screens, even small ones.
ThePanasonic SC-HTB250EG soundbar is an ultra-compact model designed above all for discretion. It is easily concealed under the television, just like its subwoofer which can be placed in the smallest corner of the living room.
JBL slim soundbars
JBL has understood the problem of lowered televisions for many years now. Most of its sound bars are thin enough to fit in front of the latest generation of TVs. The JBL lineup starts with the JBL Bar 2.0 All In One, an 80-watt stereo model. It measures 5.8cm high and 61cm long. To go further, the JBL Bar 5.0 Multibeam tops the range thanks to its 5.1 channel compatibility (wireless subwoofer) and totals 550 watts of power (250 watts for the sound bar and 300 watts for the subwoofer).

Ultra versatile, it can receive music wirelessly, access countless streaming services and be controled by voice.

Driven by ever-lower TVs, compact soundbars have become a lasting trend. They weren’t kidding when they said slim.

Samsung already revealed at CES back in January that its upcoming–and aptly named–Super Slim Soundbar would be just 1.6 inches thick, but that figure didn’t really register until I saw the ridiculously thin speaker in person last week.
Seeing it up close and personal at a hands-on event in Manhattan’s Meatpacking District, I was quite simply floored by the Ultra Thin Soundbar’s svelte, delicate design. It’s not so much a soundbar as a soundstick. I’ve never seen a soundbar quite like it.
While the Ultra Thin Soundbar is about the same width as a conventional soundbar–say, roughly 40 inches across–it’s only slightly thicker than your average closet rod. The Samsung exec I chatted with wasn’t quite sure of the soundbar’s exact weight, but after hefting it, we agreed that it couldn’t weigh more than eight pounds, if that.

Despite its super-slim and light design, the Ultra Thin Soundbar manages a 3.1.2 configuration, with the low frequencies coming courtesy of a compact, 6.5-inch wireless subwoofer. You’ll be able to upgrade the soundbar to a full 5.1.2 channels with a wireless surround speaker kit.
Two upfiring drivers for Dolby Atmos and DTS:X height cues are visible through the top speaker grille on either side. That means the soundbar bounces height effects off the ceiling rather than relying on virtualization for the height channels. I inquired about the quantity and size of the soundbar’s other drivers, but was told that Samsung “isn’t talking about that yet.”

While the Ultra Slim Soundbar was on prominent display during Samsung’s hands-on event, it wasn’t actually demonstrated, so I can’t offer any initial impressions about its audio performance. With its slim but wide design, however, the Ultra Slim Soundbar may well have the edge on other compact soundbars that go for a narrower design, which means they often depend on virtual sound modes to widen their soundstages. I’ll need to actually hear it to be sure.
The Ultra Slim Soundbar can be wall-mounted, and at the Samsung event, one of the super-thin units was mounted under the latest version of The Frame (here’s our review of an earlier model of The Frame). The soundbar also comes with an appropriately slimmed-down remote that can sit unobtrusively on top of the speaker.

Not only is the Ultra Slim Soundbar’s remote small, its selection of inputs is small as well: specifically, there’s one USB-C-style HDMI-ARC port, and that’s it. A nearby microUSB connector is only for installing firmware updates.
Alongside–and in stark contrast to–the Ultra Slim Soundbar at the Samsung showcase was the manufacturer’s new, and massive, Q990B soundbar, an 11.1.4-channel behemoth that replaces 2021’s flagship, the Q950A.
The Ultra Slim Soundbar has only two inputs, one for HDMI-ARC and a second for service updates.

The Q990B retains the basic design and channel configuration of the Q950A, but its wireless surround speakers will come with a redesigned, slightly vaulted top, while its subwoofer comes with a new “acoustical lens design” that’s designed to deliver, deeper low-frequency performance.
The soundbar will also ship with Samsung’s revamped SpaceFit room calibration feature, which no longer needs help from a Samsung TV to detect the acoustics of a room.
Samsung has yet to reveal pricing for any of its 2022 soundbars, including the Ultra Slim Soundbar and the Q990B. That said, the units are expected to ship in the coming weeks.

In order to adapt to the specifications of the latest televisions, which are increasingly low and borderless, audio manufacturers are increasing their efforts to offer ever thinner soundbars. Thickness is now an essential factor when choosing a soundbar that can be integrated under a new generation TV without masking the bottom of the screen. After studying the latest generation of TVs, we have concluded that the maximum height of a soundbar should be around 6cm. Therefore, here is a look at slim soundbars ideal for use with the latest generation of TVs. Are they as efficient as larger models?

Why choose a slim soundbar?
While the image quality of televisions continues to improve with OLED, QLED, QD-OLED and even Mini-LED technologies, sound often remains their Achilles’ heel. A soundbar is therefore the simplest and most harmonious way to substitute the sound of a television and enjoy a truly immersive and sometimes even spectacular listening experience. Aesthetically speaking, there are different types of soundbars. Most of them measure between 80 and 120cm long and are 5 to 15cm high. However, modern TVs adopt lowered feet, and the absence of a frame limits the space available under the TV. To avoid hiding the bottom of the screen, the height of soundbars is reduced from generation to generation. The thinnest models are now less than 6cm thick to fit perfectly in front of and/or under televisions.

The performance of compact soundbars
Ultra-thin soundbars range from simple stereo models to versions capable of delivering true 5.1, 7.1 or even Dolby Atmos/DTS:X sound. All variants exist, resulting in a more or less enveloping spatialization. The most compact soundbars such as the LG QP5 (5.9cm high and 29cm long) and JBL Bar 2.0 All In One (5.8cm high and 61cm long) offer stereo sound with at least two drivers. These 2.0 and 2.1 stereo soundbars (with subwoofer) generally adopt a digital processor (DSP) responsible for widening the soundstage by creating virtual surround sound. Most often, these compact soundbars are sold together with a wireless subwoofer to provide a more spectacular sound experience.

The load volume is also maximized, for better bass performance. A few models, like the Bose Soundbar 900, even manage to provide powerful and deep bass without the need for an external subwoofer. They are therefore ideal for enjoying a true cinema experience, from a single piece of equipment that can be placed in front of the television. These longer models are often intended for televisions with a screen size of at least 43” (108cm).

The LG QP5flat soundbar is capable of reproducing sound across 3.1.2 channels at only 29cm long and 5.9cm high. It therefore fits easily under a latest generation television and can even be placed in the niche of an AV cabinet.
For pairing with large TV models measuring 55” and above, the slim LG SP9YA soundbar is an excellent alternative. This is the most powerful model from the Korean manufacturer. This bar is capable of producing 5.1.2 channel sound with a height of only 5.7cm. It benefits from 520W of power, Dolby Atmos and DTS:X compatibility, and can even be combined with LG SPK8 surround speakers to create a real wireless home theater.

Bose slim soundbars
Specialist in multi-channel soundbars for many years, Bose offers one of the thinnest Dolby Atmos soundbars on the market (5.8cm) with the Bose Soundbar 900. The latter has 9 drivers, two of which are on the upper panel to deliver spatialized sound in all directions. The drivers work together with exclusive PhaseGuide technology that directs sound waves in multiple directions. To optimize the sound, this compact Bose bar features ADAPTiQ audio calibration and optimizes the spatialization of the effects according to the acoustic properties of the room and the position of the listener. The manufacturer also offers a more affordable model: the Bose TV Speaker. Less than 6cm high, it naturally finds its place under the TV, without hiding the bottom of the screen.

Samsung slim soundbars
Samsung has four thin soundbars in its catalog. They all come with a wireless subwoofer. The 5.4cm high Samsung HW-T420 and Samsung HW-A450 soundbars are the entry level models. The difference between these two models is mainly in terms of power: 150W for the Samsung HW-T420 and 300 watts for the Samsung HW-A450. The latter can also be combined with the Samsung SWA-9100S wireless surround speakers (sold separately) to enjoy true 4.1-channel surround sound.
Marketed at less than €130, theSamsung HW-T420is ideal for equipping yourself with a soundbar at a low price, capable of being easily installed under a television.
The brand’s midrange model, the Samsung HW-Q60T, is 5.8cm high and 98cm long. It reproduces Dolby and DTS tracks over 5.1 channels thanks to its 9 drivers and wireless subwoofer. It is Bluetooth compatible and can play audio and video files from a USB key.
With its wireless subwoofer, the ultra slimSamsung HW-Q60T soundbar(5.8cm high) offers 5.1 channel surround sound.
The Samsung HW-Q700A adopts a Dolby Atmos 3.1.2 channel configuration within a 6cm high and 98cm long enclosure. This Samsung soundbar has drivers dedicated to vertical effects that exploit Samsung Acoustic Beam technology: they project sounds to the ceiling which then reflects them towards the viewers, producing a particularly realistic vertical sound. It comes with a wireless subwoofer.
TheSamsung HW-Q700A flat soundbar(6cm thick) is a high-performance model equipped with a wireless subwoofer and numerous drivers to reproduce the three dimensional sound of Dolby Atmos and DTS:X soundtracks over 3. 1.2 channels.
Panasonic slim soundbars
The Japanese manufacturer Panasonic offers a single compact soundbar: the Panasonic SC-HTB200EG. A 2.1 version with wireless subwoofer is available under the Panasonic SC-HTB250EG reference. This second model is to be favored to enjoy a richer and more convincing experience during action scenes. The major advantage of this soundbar lies in its extreme compactness, with a thickness of only 5.1cm and a length of 45cm. It can be easily adapted to all TV screens, even small ones.
ThePanasonic SC-HTB250EG soundbar is an ultra-compact model designed above all for discretion. It is easily concealed under the television, just like its subwoofer which can be placed in the smallest corner of the living room.
JBL slim soundbars
JBL has understood the problem of lowered televisions for many years now. Most of its sound bars are thin enough to fit in front of the latest generation of TVs. The JBL lineup starts with the JBL Bar 2.0 All In One, an 80-watt stereo model. It measures 5.8cm high and 61cm long. To go further, the JBL Bar 5.0 Multibeam tops the range thanks to its 5.1 channel compatibility (wireless subwoofer) and totals 550 watts of power (250 watts for the sound bar and 300 watts for the subwoofer).

They weren’t kidding when they said slim.

Samsung already revealed at CES back in January that its upcoming–and aptly named–Super Slim Soundbar would be just 1.6 inches thick, but that figure didn’t really register until I saw the ridiculously thin speaker in person last week.
Seeing it up close and personal at a hands-on event in Manhattan’s Meatpacking District, I was quite simply floored by the Ultra Thin Soundbar’s svelte, delicate design. It’s not so much a soundbar as a soundstick. I’ve never seen a soundbar quite like it.
While the Ultra Thin Soundbar is about the same width as a conventional soundbar–say, roughly 40 inches across–it’s only slightly thicker than your average closet rod. The Samsung exec I chatted with wasn’t quite sure of the soundbar’s exact weight, but after hefting it, we agreed that it couldn’t weigh more than eight pounds, if that.

Despite its super-slim and light design, the Ultra Thin Soundbar manages a 3.1.2 configuration, with the low frequencies coming courtesy of a compact, 6.5-inch wireless subwoofer. You’ll be able to upgrade the soundbar to a full 5.1.2 channels with a wireless surround speaker kit.
Two upfiring drivers for Dolby Atmos and DTS:X height cues are visible through the top speaker grille on either side. That means the soundbar bounces height effects off the ceiling rather than relying on virtualization for the height channels. I inquired about the quantity and size of the soundbar’s other drivers, but was told that Samsung “isn’t talking about that yet.”
Despite its super-slim design, the Ultra Slim Soundbar still packs upfiring drivers for Dolby Atmos and DTS:X height cues.

While the Ultra Slim Soundbar was on prominent display during Samsung’s hands-on event, it wasn’t actually demonstrated, so I can’t offer any initial impressions about its audio performance. With its slim but wide design, however, the Ultra Slim Soundbar may well have the edge on other compact soundbars that go for a narrower design, which means they often depend on virtual sound modes to widen their soundstages. I’ll need to actually hear it to be sure.
The Ultra Slim Soundbar can be wall-mounted, and at the Samsung event, one of the super-thin units was mounted under the latest version of The Frame (here’s our review of an earlier model of The Frame). The soundbar also comes with an appropriately slimmed-down remote that can sit unobtrusively on top of the speaker.

Not only is the Ultra Slim Soundbar’s remote small, its selection of inputs is small as well: specifically, there’s one USB-C-style HDMI-ARC port, and that’s it. A nearby microUSB connector is only for installing firmware updates.
Alongside–and in stark contrast to–the Ultra Slim Soundbar at the Samsung showcase was the manufacturer’s new, and massive, Q990B soundbar, an 11.1.4-channel behemoth that replaces 2021’s flagship, the Q950A.
The Ultra Slim Soundbar has only two inputs, one for HDMI-ARC and a second for service updates.

The Q990B retains the basic design and channel configuration of the Q950A, but its wireless surround speakers will come with a redesigned, slightly vaulted top, while its subwoofer comes with a new “acoustical lens design” that’s designed to deliver, deeper low-frequency performance.
The soundbar will also ship with Samsung’s revamped SpaceFit room calibration feature, which no longer needs help from a Samsung TV to detect the acoustics of a room.
Samsung has yet to reveal pricing for any of its 2022 soundbars, including the Ultra Slim Soundbar and the Q990B. That said, the units are expected to ship in the coming weeks.

Comfort is a headphone’s ability to provide a physically pleasant listening experience which does not cause soreness or pain over time. Comfort is subjective and will depend on the listener’s ability to achieve the intended fit for the type of headphone they have chosen.
Results: Over-ear headphones are typically the most comfortable design. They are easy to wear, usually well-padded and do not apply as much tension to your head as on-ear models. The in-ear design, on the other hand, applies pressure directly to the ear canal, which depending on the listener can be a very uncomfortable listening experience.
Earbuds do not exert tension in the ear canal or on the head making them somewhat comfortable. Unfortunately, a good fit is difficult to achieve. As for on-ear, they are easy to wear and moderately comfortable, but they apply pressure on the ears to maintain a stable fit. This can get uncomfortable and cause listening fatigue quicker than over-ear headphones.

Noise isolation is a headphones’ ability to isolate you from the outside world by blocking or canceling the ambient noise that seeps into your audio.For noise isolation, only passive isolation is considered for this comparison as the efficiency of active noise canceling is entirely dependent on the manufacturer.
Results: From our tests, In-Ear headphones provide the most passive isolation. The seal that the in-ear design provides is efficient at blocking high-frequency noise. However, the fit may be difficult to achieve. Earbuds are the worst performers in this category not filling the ear canal like in-ear and not having enough surface area to prevent ambient noise from seeping into your audio.
Unfortunately, the better passive seal of in-ears also means there’s a risk of potentially damaging your inner ear, especially if the in-ears have a long cable that can get hooked on something and yank the buds out of your ear canal. You can check the discussion thread below for more information.
On-Ear vs Over Ear: Over-Ear headphones are second best at providing passive isolation, being able to block a decent amount of ambient noise without active cancellation. On-ear headphones, on the other hand, do not perform as well. The typically smaller ear cups rest on the ears and do not always create a great seal. They are slightly better than earbuds because they have more surface area but not as good as in-ear or over-ear designs.

Leakage is the sound that escapes the seal of the ear cups or earbuds. Loud leakage can be distracting to the people around you at high volumes.
Results: Our test results show that In-ear headphones are the least likely to leak, their size allows the small drivers to be directly placed into the ear canal and also needs less power to achieve the same perceived loudness. Not much sound escapes if a good seal is achieved. Over-ear headphones, on the other hand, have big drivers that can get quite loud. If the seal is not great, they will easily leak a wider range of frequencies than all other types of headphones. Leakage is worse with open back variations. It is encouraged in the design of the headphones to achieve a better soundstage.

They have a slightly warm sound profile out of the box that results in smooth vocals and instruments. That said, their companion app offers a graphic EQ and presets so that you can tailor their sound to your needs. They also support multi-device pairing, so you can stay connected to your smartphone and PC simultaneously, and have a virtual soundstage feature to help immerse you in your audio.
These on-ears last over 52 hours continuously, which is great for long days on the go or at your desk. They also have a decently comfortable fit and are fairly well-built. Their plastic design isn’t the sturdiest, but that’s normal at this price point. However, unlike the JBL 460NC Wireless, they lack noise cancelling and struggle to block ambient sound. They also don’t have an AUX port, so you can’t use them wired. They come with a detachable cable and two 1/8″ to 1/4″ adapters, meaning you can easily plug them into a mixer or amp or a phone or computer. They’re designed with audiophiles in mind, so unlike the Beats Solo3 2019 Wireless, they don’t have a mic or onboard controls. As a result, you can’t use them to make phone calls or easily skip a track when you’re on the go.
Their sound profile is neutral and well-balanced, so they’re suitable for fans of different genres and types of content. Otomycosis – inflammatory diseases of the ears resulting from damage by microscopic parasitic fungi (yeasts of the genus Candida, molds of the genus Aspergillus, Penicillium, actinomycetes, dermatophytes). diabetes mellitus;
prolonged treatment with antibiotics or hormones resulting in weakened immunity;
constant stress;
using someone else’s headphones, earplugs, headset, etc.
The most dangerous complication of otomycosis is damage to the auditory nerve and permanent hearing loss.
Diagnosis of a fungal disease of the ear
The presence of inflammation is detected during examination of the ear parts using otoscopy and based on patient complaints. To establish the cause of inflammation, a microscopic and bacteriological examination of the pathological discharge is carried out to identify the causative agent of the disease and determine its sensitivity to antibiotics.
Prevention and treatment of otomycosis

In our soundbar testing experience, we’ve found that you can give your home theater a significant upgrade at an affordable price, though the Samsung HW-A450/ZA 2. 1ch Soundbar is not the pricepoint model we recommend first. This Samsung soundbar does not achieve high marks in our sound quality testing. Compared with other models (one of which is less expensive), dialogue sounds muddy, likely due to its lack of a true center channel. Though the included subwoofer gives the system a bass-heavy sound, it isn’t punchy, clear, or very immersive. This model features Samsung’s Adaptive Sound Lite Technology that claims to automatically equalize dialogue, noise, and background music for an optimal listening experience. In our actual listening experience, we heard a thin and echoey sound that made us question whether the subwoofer was properly in sync with the soundbar.
The subwoofer adds power and body to the system, but it also takes up additional space.

Ease of Use
This model isn’t difficult to set up, but it lacks some key features that prevent it from being a truly plug-and-play device. The subwoofer needs to be manually linked to the soundbar, and the instructions are fairly confusing on how to do this. Again, our scoring here is relative, and its score reflects the fact that other models are significantly easier to set up.
The included remote is intuitive and simple, with power and volume toggles, and there are power, volume, and input settings that also can be adjusted via buttons on the soundbar, which has a light display to indicate which sound mode it’s in.
The controls on the soundbar are inconspicuous. Unfortunately, the lint that collects on the cloth covering is not.

Unfortunately, this soundbar doesn’t offer digital assistant smart speaker support or WiFi connectivity, though it can connect to your smartphone via Bluetooth.
As far as EQ and sound adjustments go, this soundbar keeps things simple, limiting to just treble and bass adjustments. It also features multiple presets, including surround, a bass boost, game mode, and adaptive Sound lite. Due to its lack of an HDMI ARC connection, the surround mode isn’t impressive, and while the bass boost adds some low end you can feel from the subwoofer, the overall bass sounds from the soundbar itself remain very weak.
A compact remote is included with the Samsung HW-A450.

Volume
We observed a reading of 91 dBa when operating this Samsung model at maximum volume, which is about average among the soundbars in our tests. This is plenty of volume for a theater-like experience, though the sound quality is still a limiting factor.
Design/Style
This model has an all-fabric casing with plastic end caps, giving it a classic look, though the fabric is more difficult to keep dust-free than metal or plastic surfaces. It’s 33.9″ long, so it won’t look out of place with 40″ TV, and it can be mounted to the wall. The subwoofer has a footprint of 7.1″ x 10″ and can be placed anywhere in the range of an electrical outlet since it connects wirelessly to the soundbar.
This soundbar has a much smaller footprint than the Sonos Arc and the Bose Smart Soundbar 700.

Value
Among the models tested, the Samsung HW-A450 is relatively inexpensive. But, several other models we tested have similar price tags while offering much better performance and features, so we don’t consider this soundbar a killer value.
One optical connection for the TV and a wirelessly connected subwoofer are exponentially easier to set up than a multi-speaker surround sound system.

Conclusion
The Samsung HW-A450/ZA 2.1 ch Soundbar provides a rich and immersive experience compared to built-in TV speakers, and the uninitiated will surely appreciate the improvement, but after our extensive testing of multiple soundbars, we believe your ears and your wallet can do better.

Active Soundbar Speaker: The HW-B550’s active soundbar speaker houses a total of four drivers in a stereo configuration and is powered by a built-in 160W amplifier (40 watts to each driver) for dynamic, room-filling sound from your movie and music soundtracks.The soundbar can be mounted on the wall with the included wall-mount brackets (wall screws not supplied) or simply placed on a table-top.
Wireless Powered Sub: The included wireless powered sub receives its low-frequency audio signal wirelessly from the soundbar via 2.4GHz transmission. There are no cords to connect, except the AC power cord. The wireless powered sub features a front-firing 6″ woofer inside a bass-reflex cabinet with a rear-firing port. The woofer is powered by a built-in 250 watt amplifier. The wireless powered subwoofer can be positioned anywhere in the room (up to 32.8′ away from soundbar) to achieve maximum audio performance.
Dolby Digital + DTS Virtual:X: The Samsung HW-B550 soundbar system employs decoders compatible with Dolby Digital (2ch) & DTS (2ch), plus offers DTS Virtual X surround. DTS Virtual:X uses proprietary audio processing techniques inside the soundbar to create spacious 3D sound (including the sensation of height) from any content, and without the need for up-firing or in-ceiling speakers. Sound Modes: The Samsung HW-B550 soundbar speaker system offers 5 different sound modes that can be used with a variety of content.
Adaptive Sound Lite: The soundbar automatically analyzes your sound sources to optimize the audio track for your specific content. Whether it’s a loud sports match or a drama with quiet dialog, you can count on the soundbar to provide clear sounds for optimized TV viewing.
Surround Sound Expansion: The Surround Sound Expansion mode delivers a more realistic and immersive audio experience by adding depth and spaciousness to the movie soundtrack. Standard: Select Standard mode if you simply want to enjoy 2ch stereo playback.

Voice Enhance: Voice Enhance amplifies dialog and vocals in movie and music soundtracks so they can heard better over sound effects and instruments.
Night Mode: Night Mode compresses the dynamic range of the movie or music soundtrack, so there is less volume difference between soft and loud passages when watching late at night.
Bass & Treble: You can adjust the soundbar’s Bass & Treble from – to +6 to tailer the sound more to your preference.
Auto AV Sync: Auto AV Sync can be used to help sync video to audio when connected to a TV. Video may look slower than the audio if it is connected to a digital TV. If this occurs, you can activate the Auto AV Sync.
Optional Wireless Surround Kit: The optional SWA-9100S or SWA-9200S Wireless Surround Kit (sold separately) lets you add rear speakers to the HW-B550 soundbar system without all the wires. Together with the HW-B550, you can create a 4.1 channel system for a real surround sound experience. The Wireless Surround Kit consists of a wireless receiver module and two rear speakers (the wireless rear module is built into one of the speakers in the SWA-9200S kit). The wireless receiver module receives a wireless audio signal from the HW-B550 soundbar, so you don’t have to run speaker wire from the soundbar to the rear speakers. The wireless receiver module for the SWA-9100S or SWA-9200S does have to connect to an AC wall outlet via its power cord, and be wired to the rear speakers using the included speaker cables.
Connections
HDMI 1.4: The Samsung HW-B550’s soundbar is outfitted with one HDMI 1.4 input and one HDMI 1.4 output (ARC compatible). The HDMI input allows you to connect your Ultra-HD Blu-ray player or cable/satellite box directly to the soundbar and then from its HDMI ARC output to your flat-panel TV. The HDMI 1.4 input and output support 1080p Pass-Through, Dolby Digital (2ch), DTS (2ch), and ARC.
ARC (Audio Return Channel): The unit’s HDMI output supports the ARC function. This allows you to connect your Blu-ray player or satellite/cable box directly to the soundbar system’s HDMI input and connect the soundbar’s HDMI output to your television for audio from the soundbar system or your TV. Your TV must also be ARC compatible. The Samsung HW-B550 only supports Dolby Digital (2ch), DTS (2ch) and PCM (2ch).
Because with some televisions, the ARC-enabled HDMI input will only pass 2ch PCM from devices connected to the TV via HDMI or analog, we recommend that you connect your Blu-ray/DVD player and Satellite/Cable box to the soundbar directly; and then connect the soundbar’s ARC-enabled HDMI output to your TV’s ARC-enabled HDMI input. This setup will give you the best overall sound performance.
The HDMI ARC out is not eARC compatible and does not support Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, Dolby True-HD, Dolby Digital Plus, or DTS-HD.
Optical Digital Input: The Samsung HW-B550’s soundbar is equipped with an optical (toslink) digital input to connect your television, Blu-ray/DVD player, or satellite/cable box. The optical digital input supports Dolby Digital (2ch), DTS (2ch) and PCM (2ch). The optical digital output of some flat-panel TVs only send a Dolby Digital/DTS audio signal when receiving Dolby Digital/DTS surround sound from the TV’s built-in tuner, network connection, or connected USB device; and will output only 2ch PCM from sources connected to the TV via HDMI, or RCA (like your Blue-ray/DVD player or satellite/cable box).
Note: The HW-B550 is not equipped with an analog audio input.
Built-in Bluetooth: The Samsung HW-B550 features built-in Bluetooth for wireless connection between the soundbar speaker system and your Bluetooth-enabled mobile devices for wireless music streaming, as well as a wireless connection between the soundbar speaker and Bluetooth A2DP enabled TVs. The HW-B550’s Bluetooth function has a wireless range of approximately 32.8′.
Bluetooth Audio Streaming: You can wirelessly stream stored music and music apps from your Bluetooth-enabled devices; like your smartphone, tablet, computer, or laptop to the Samsung HW-B550 and enjoy music with high quality stereo sound, all without wires (SBC and AAC codecs are supported). You can even connect two different Bluetooth source devices at the same time and seamlessly switch between both devices. The HW-B550’s remote can be used to control Play/Pause and Skip functions (advanced music navigation is still handled from your Bluetooth source device. The HW-B550 does not display song/artist information (song/artist info is still viewed on your Bluetooth source device).
Wireless TV Connection: You can simplify the installation of the HW-B550 by eliminating the need for a wired connection between a Bluetooth-enabled TV and the soundbar. Simply plug the soundbar and the subwoofer into AC power and follow the simple pairing instructions to wirelessly connect the soundbar to a Bluetooth A2DP enabled TV. When a TV is connected using Bluetooth, audio is transmitted in stereo (not Dolby Digital or DTS). Only one TV can be paired and connected at a time.
Note: This system does not support Bluetooth hands-free communication for making and answering phone calls.
USB Port: You can connect and play music files from external USB mass storage class devices (such as a USB thumbdrive) using the soundbar’s rear-panel USB-A port. The HW-B550 supports playback of a variety of music files (including Hi-Res) loaded onto a compatible USB device formatted in FAT16/32. You can control basic playback functions; such as Play/Pause, Previous/Next Track, and Repeat. The system will also charge (5V/0.5A) your connected USB device. Compatible music files include –
AAC: 32-48kHz; 32-320kbps
AIFF: 32-192kHz; 1024-9216kbps
FLAC: 32-192kHz; 162-8100kbps
MP3: 8-48kHz; 8-320kbps
OGG: 32-48kHz; 32-320kbps
WAV: 32-192kHz; 1024-9216kbps
WMA: 32-48kHz; 32-320kbps
Note: The USB port does not support USB hubs, card-readers, computers, Apple iOS devices, or Android devices.
Power Requirements: The active soundbar speaker and the wireless powered subwoofer will both have to be plugged into an AC power outlet or surge protector (sold separately). The active soundbar includes an AC power adapter with an attached 58″ DC cord and detachable 5′ AC power cord. The wireless powered sub includes a detachable 5′ AC power cord.
Firmware Updates (via USB): Samsung may offer updates for the soundbar’s system firmware in the future. If an update is offered, you can download the firmware update from Samsung’s Support website onto a USB thumbdrive inserted in your computer. Once the firmware is downloaded on your USB thumbdrive, plug the USB device into the soundbar’s USB port for update.
Controls
Remote & Top-Panel Controls: The included IR remote control provides wireless operation of the Samsung HW-B550 system. There are also top-panel controls (including Power, Source, and Volume) on the soundbar speaker.
TV Remote Control: When the HW-B550 system is connected to a Samsung Smart TV (released in 2017 or later), the soundbar can be controlled using the TV’s remote control. This function also allows you to use the TV menu to adjust the soundfield and various settings, as well as the volume and mute. You can also program Sony, LG, Vizio, Sharp, Panasonic, and Toshiba TV remotes to control Power/On Off, Volume Up/Down, and Mute functions of the HW-B550 soundbar system.
Auto Power On/Off: The Samsung HW-B550 soundbar system offers Auto Power On/Off functionality.
Power Link (Auto On): The wireless audio soundbar system is automatically turned on when you turn on your TV or any device connected to the wireless audio soundbar system with an optical cable.
Bluetooth Power On: If a previously paired Bluetooth device (including a Samsung SoundConnect compatible TV) tries to pair with the soundbar when the Bluetooth Power On function is activated and the soundbar is turned off, the soundbar turns on automatically.
Auto Off: If a TV or any device connected to the HW-B550 soundbar system is off and there is no audio signal, the soundbar system will turn off after 5 minutes.

How to implement groups of deals?
To segment the base of deals, you can use your own fields and tags. Own fields, these are additional fields for transactions. If you open any deal card, click “Customize” next to the statistics, then you can create new fields. Choose the appropriate option from the list, enter the necessary information and an additional field will be added to all your transactions. Similarly, you can add an additional field to contacts and companies.
How to make 2 sales funnels?
You can create several funnels with different deal statuses in a section by clicking on the funnel name and then on the “Add funnel” button.
What are open trades?
Open trades are those trades that are not in the “successfully completed” and “closed and not completed” statuses. In all other statuses, the deal is open.
What is a “Transaction Officer”?
The manager responsible for the transaction is the manager who oversees and is responsible for this transaction. You, as an administrator, can restrict the rights of your managers in the “Settings” “Users” section. For example, if you want them to see only their own transactions, then you need to select “if responsible”. And then they will see their transactions, but not see others.
Can I add multiple contacts to a deal?
Yes, of course, you can attach several contact persons to a transaction. To do this, in the deal card in the “Contacts” section, there is a button “Add contact” under the already attached contact.
How to find trades with no activity?
In order to view deals that are not being worked on, we have such sections as “Deals without tasks” and “Deals with overdue tasks”.
It is also possible to set up a filter by modification date. You need to display the “date of modification” field in the tables and sort by it.
Next, you simply go to transactions, select the desired status and click find. And by the date of the change, see which deals have been changed today.
Why can some transactions be displayed with a lock?
Deals can be displayed with a lock if the user does not have rights to edit them. Also if your account is blocked (due to exceeding the limit, or the term of using the account has expired).
Why can notes of related entities not be included in a transaction?
Notes of related entities are displayed in the deal (if you have included these notes in the deal card next to the note by clicking on the “eye”), the creation date of which is not older than the deal 24 hours. That is, you will not see the notes that were on the contact and the company earlier, before the creation of the deal. Further comments in the transaction will be displayed.
How to transfer a call from one transaction to another?
You are unable to transfer call notes between entities. The call record is attached to the contact card. You can unpin a contact from a deal: go to the deal card, and then attach this contact to another deal. All notes, records of conversations from the contact card for the last 24 hours will be pulled into the deal card. If you attach a contact in more than a day, the records of conversations from this contact card will not be pulled into the deal you need.
A contact has been unlinked from the transaction. Is it possible to find out what contact was and return it?
Unfortunately not. This information does not remain in the change log. If you unpin a contact/company, the history can no longer be viewed.
Is it possible to make several responsible persons in a transaction?
Unfortunately, in the standard functionality, one entity can have only one responsible.
Created a deal with the company, and all contacts were reinforced to it. Why?
You have probably added a company to the deal using Quick Add. With these actions, all contacts of the attached company are pulled up. If you want to avoid this, you can go to the “Deals” section, create a deal and attach a company to it. In this case, only she will attach.
Who can change the main contact in a deal?
Changing the main contact in a deal can only be done by someone who has at least rights to edit the deal.
How to print a transaction card?
Printing is possible only on the browser page itself (Ctrl+P) or by clicking on the “three dots” at the top right – “Print”. An additional window for printing from the browser will open. Unfortunately, there is no other printing option.
What is the display limit for attached products?
Unfortunately, at the moment the display of products is limited to 50. But you can use “Search”. In this case, the search will be performed on all items in the directory.
The transaction automatically moves to other stages, why?
Most likely, you have configured automatic stage change under certain conditions in the Digital Funnel settings.
You can check the availability of this setting by going to the account administrator account in the “Deals” -> “Set up funnel” section.
If there is an auto-action at one of the stages to change the status, the stage will be automatically changed according to the specified conditions. If you have multiple funnels, you need to check each one.
How to display more than 50 deals per page?
In the standard functionality, 50 transactions are displayed per page, it is also possible to display 500 transactions. In order to display 500 transactions on the page, go to the “Deals” section, at the end of the address bar, add ?ELEMENT_COUNT=500

How can I cancel the splicing of duplicates?
If the cards were merged by mistake, this action can be undone. When merged in the resulting deal, a system note appears indicating the merged cells. When you click on the “Cancel” button, duplicates are pasted.
Attention! The card must include events for combining elements. When the event is disabled, the note about entity merging is not displayed in the card.
Posting can be done if after the merging there were no more than 5 events in the card – in this case, new events added will be transferred to both cards. If there were more than 5 events, then the “Cancel” button will be unclickable.

You can register completed deals in the Partner Center by providing additional contract details. This information will help us provide additional features to you in the future.
There are two methods that result in the registration of the transaction:
You have created a new transaction in section Joint Selling Opportunities and your transaction meets the criteria for registration of the transaction.
You would like to report a closed transaction for ISV Connect that was not sold to Microsoft.
Note
Evaluation transactions of decisions not are subject to registration.
To register deals using the co-sell path, complete the following step:
In workspace Referrals , select the tab Co-sell opportunities .
Existing deal registrations that are pending and deal registrations that are closed (approved or rejected) are available in the same section.
To register transactions using the ISV Connect Transactions path, complete the following step:
In the Referrals workspace, select the ISV Connect Transactions tab.
If there is a co-sell opportunity associated with an ISV Connect deal, a link to initiate the registration of the ISV Connect deal is available in that opportunity.
If you want to register a new ISV Connect deal without a corresponding co-sell option, you can initiate it from transactions ISV Connect .
Important!
Wait 72 hours after creating a suitable trade before tagging it in won . If you mark a trade as won before, the registration may be rejected.
Deal Registration Eligibility
To be eligible to register co-sell deals, a referral must meet all of the following criteria:
The deal type must be either a co-sell or partner-led. (You have chosen to allow Microsoft sellers to view this deal.)
Transaction value greater than or equal to $25,000. (Currency conversions are based on monthly exchange rates published by Reuters.)
The customer’s selected business partner is Microsoft itself. (That is, the customer’s account is in a company that Microsoft Sales has a relationship with.)
There is at least one reward-eligible decision in the trade.
Trade status won .
If the deal type is cosell , Microsoft must either accept the invitation or mark the deal as won. Microsoft status can be checked by viewing the Microsoft card below the deal details.
The right to register a trade is always displayed under the trade progress. After marking the deal as won, the button Register will appear at the bottom of the screen.
The only criterion for registering an ISV Connect transaction is that the value of the transaction must be greater than $5,000.
The right to register a trade is always displayed under the trade progress. After you mark a deal as won, the following banner is displayed along with the button Register Now at the top of the deal: Registration for ISV Connect Business Apps is required for this sale .

If the deal registration banner does not appear in the deal progress bar for your deal, the deal is not eligible.
You can register a deal immediately after marking a deal as won, or you can do it later using the button Register now deal lifecycle.
After registering a transaction, you can view the verification progress of the transaction for the same life cycle. If your company needs to take action, the messages displayed in the deal lifecycle view notify you of the need.
After the verification of the transaction is completed, the transaction enters the closed state.

Pay-as-you-go deals qualify for the co-sell incentive for Azure if payments by the same customer to the same partner for the same solution are equal to or greater than $25,000 within one year.
To register a pay-as-you-go deal in Partner Center:
Specify that the deal is pay-as-you-go in the pricing model.
This information moves the deal to state Pending validation because pay-as-you-go transactions are not eligible for automatic validation.
The following is additional information about pay-as-you-go transactions:
The transaction must be transferred prior to the date of the first contract or invoice.
When registering, set the signature date and start date as the date of the first invoice, and the end date as the date of the last (or most recent) invoice.
The contract signing date can be up to one year after the referral creation date or the Microsoft invitation date, whichever is the latest.
You must apply for a one-time renewal of a previously registered pay-as-you-go trade (within the same fiscal year) when the total contract value (TCV) of the trade exceeds $1 million. Re-check required. Revalidation during fiscal years is not accepted.
A previously approved trade that is not defined as pay-as-you-go cannot be re-approved to adapt to a higher TCV.

Registrations that are automatically approved may be selected for further review by the Microsoft review team. If registration is selected during this process, you will receive an email and banner notification in Partner Center. No action is required unless the validation command submits the registration and moves the state to required action .
Azure IP Co-Sell Deal Registration Exception Process
Partners can request an Azure IP Co-Sell Deal Registration Exception if they experience problems while managing referrals in Partner Center.
Note
In case of refusal to register a transaction, partners may request an exception within 60 days from the date of initial registration.
An exception request can be made in two cases:
Referral marked as won and ineligible to register an Azure IP Co-Sell deal due to software verification failure.
The referral for which the trade is being registered, or the decision was made by the trade verification team. For example, a transaction registration is in a failed state due to a validation failure during validation.
In both cases, partners are given the option to request an exception in Partner Center. Link to exception request is available in the lower right corner of the screen. The link is displayed only for deals in status “Closed “. (This can be any of the substates, “Won “, “Lost “, or “Error ” of the link.)
Recommendations for Exception Requests
Provide a detailed business rationale for why the transaction should receive an exception .
For pre-registration exception requests, include all contract dates (sign, start, and end dates).
If a toolkit error occurs that blocks the deal registration process, please report it and include any relevant support ticket numbers opened by other teams.
To re-register, enter the old trade ID (referral ID) and indicate that the new registration will replace the old one.
To make changes to approved deals, share specific information about the fields that need to be updated, the new values, and the appropriate business rationale.
Only one exclusion request is allowed per referral. The decision on an exception request is final and binding, the support team will not be able to assist with further changes. It is in your best interest to explain clearly why an exception should be granted for the request. Partners can explain their cases in up to 5000 characters when creating an exception request. The Board of Exceptions may take up to 14 business days to decide to review a request from a partner based on the evidence provided . The review team may contact the partner to gather additional evidence before granting or denying an exception.
The decision of the exception board cannot be overridden by the help desk, so the support teams cannot help if the exception request is denied. Do not create support requests for cases where an exception request has been denied by the Exception Board .

Exception approval process after

If the referral was not initially eligible for registration and the exception is approved, the partner is given the opportunity to register the Azure IP Co-selling deal .
If the co-sell deal registration using Azure IPs is in a failed state and the exception is approved, the partner can change the registration information to provide the correct information. They can then resubmit to the deal review team to review the details.
In both cases, some program checks related to dates are relaxed to allow the partner to enter the correct data in the contract documents.
Deal registration ISV Connect
This type of registration can be initiated using the banner at the top of the trade progress bar.
There are two scenarios that require the registration of an ISV Connect deal:
The solution in the referral only has a Standard or Premium Biz Apps promotion (no other IP promotions).
In this scenario, you need to select a banner to register an ISV Connect deal. You can specify all the information, for example, already familiar features. Once registered, you will also have a link to go to the registered ISV Connect deal from the co-sell opportunity.
The solution in the referral has a Standard or Premium Biz Apps Incentive and a Shared Sell Incentive.
In this scenario, you need to select a banner to register an ISV Connect deal. This must be done in addition to registering the co-sell transaction that you make on the co-sell opportunity page. If a co-sell deal is registered, the ISV Connect details will be pre-populated. If you register an ISV Connect deal before registering a co-sell deal, it is recommended that you complete the co-sell deal registration first so that you do not have to enter data twice.
Note
If the contract start date is earlier than the contract sign date in the joint sale transaction registration, the ISV Connect contract start date is filled with the contract sign date.

Registering an ISV Connect Deal Using the Deal Registration Tab
There are two ways to register an ISV Connect deal. Both methods require the solution being registered to have the ISV Connect 9 tag0157 Standard or Premium .
Select + ISV Connect Closed Deal Report to register directly using the Deal Registration tab.
Use this method for any deal that did not come from a referral, opportunity, or lead.
The registration page is used specifically for the ISV Connect program and displays an invoice or invoices in addition to the ISV Connect program.
Click the Register now button that appears in the Co-sell progress bar if the solution is eligible and has the ISV Connect Standard or Premium tag.
The second way to register an ISV Connect deal is to refer a joint sale after winning it.

Registration is for the ISV Connect solution and results in an invoice or invoice.
In both cases, you will run transaction registration form . This form requires the following information:
Customer Information : Company name, country, city, and state.
Solution . Choose from a list of ISV Connect Standard or Premium solutions with tags. If there are no solutions, check if the sentence is labeled correctly.
Total contract value and currency . This information includes software and service fees, but not hardware.
Solution cost and currency . As a rule, this information is the total cost of the contract, minus non-recurring implementation fees. (See Addendum ISV Connect for more information.
Solution deployment (Azure or other): If the solution will not be deployed to Azure, select Other .
Solution consumption (client or partner client): Will the consumption of the solution take place in the partner’s or customer’s tenant?
Contract date details . This information refers to the date the contract was signed, the start date of the contract (which must be on or after the date the contract was signed), and the date it ended.

Invite a customer when they have a new relationship with a software vendor
After registering the corresponding ISV Connect agreement, the License Management section is displayed at the top of the registered transaction .
To invite a customer when creating an association with a software vendor, complete the following steps.
Select License Management .
In Partner Center, under the filter section Submitted by , select the tab In Progress .
You see the deal there.
Specify the client and client when the area License management appears.
The drop-down list shows all relationships with the software vendor with customer consent that Microsoft is aware of. Select the customer for whom this deal was registered.
If the relationship with the client does not yet exist, select + Invite new client for consent .
Selecting + Invite New Customer to Consent will display a link on the page that you can copy and send to the customer’s billing administrator or global administrator. When clients access this link, they receive admin.microsoft.com where they can accept and authorize the link.
Activating licenses for new deals
Once a customer has been created and selected from the dropdown, you can start adding plans from your offer and assign multiple licenses to each plan.
Select + Add plan to add plans from the offer.
Select Upgrade licenses at the bottom after filling in the plans and number of licenses per plan.

The LG S95QR is the best LG soundbar we’ve tested. It’s a premium 9.1.5 setup with many features, and its versatile performance makes it suitable for listening to everything from music to movies to TV shows. The design is pretty unique, with two up-firing drivers for Dolby Atmos content and an additional up-firing center channel. Dialogue is clear and present in the mix, and the extra center channel slightly improves the location of the dialogue in the soundstage. However, it doesn’t stand out compared to other bars that come with just a traditional front-firing driver. Like most premium setups, it also has a room correction feature, and with it enabled, the bar’s bass-heavy sound adds lots of boom and punch to the mix. It’s a bit muddy, but you can easily use its bass and treble adjustments to create a more neutral sound.
This soundbar stands out when it comes to movies—multichannel content, including surround sound formats like Dolby Digital and height content like Dolby Atmos, is immersive, and sound effects seem like they’re coming from all around you. Compared to last year’s LG SP11RA, its satellites have an additional front-facing driver built-in, which helps to more accurately represent the action in the soundstage. While sound doesn’t extend quite as wide as other premium models like the Bose Smart Soundbar 900 with Speakers + Bass Module or the Sonos Arc with Sub + One SL Speakers, it still does a really good job.

If you’re looking for a versatile LG soundbar at a more affordable price, check out the LG S90QY. This 5.1.3 setup was released in 2022, and like the LG S95QR, it comes with three up-firing channels—two of which are devoted to height content and another that acts as a second center channel. It has lots of the same features, including room correction, and its default sound is fairly even, especially in the mids, where voices and lead instruments reproduce. Its dedicated subwoofer provides an extended low-bass, so there’s plenty of thump in the mix. It’s a solid option if you don’t have space for rear speakers in your setup.
This soundbar also supports multichannel content like Dolby Digital and Dolby Atmos, which you can find on many streaming platforms and Blu-rays. However, since it doesn’t come with discrete satellites, it uses side-firing surround channels built into the bar itself to represent sound effects in the soundstage. The resulting experience is less immersive, and sound seems like it’s just coming from speakers placed in front of you. Its Atmos performance is just okay, too. However, you can always add rear speakers if you want to improve the performance, and you can even see the results of the LG S90QY with SPQ8-S Speaker Kit if you’re interested.

The LG S80QY is a great alternative if you’re looking for a more affordable soundbar setup. This setup, released in 2022, offers many of the same features as its more premium cousins. For example, it includes AI Room Calibration to optimize its audio output based on your room’s unique acoustics and a second up-firing center channel to improve vocal clarity in the mix. Overall, its sound quality is impressive for the price, so everything from music to movies to TV shows sounds clear and accurate through the bar’s drivers. Bass and treble adjustments allow you to customize its sound, too.
This Dolby Atmos soundbar supports many audio formats commonly found on streaming platforms and Blu-rays, including Dolby Digital. However, since it’s a 3.1.3 setup, it has to downmix surround content into stereo to play it. The resulting sound isn’t quite as immersive as 5.1 bars on the market, like the LG S90QY, and audio seems to come from a speaker placed in front of you rather than from all around your room. Fortunately, you can always add on satellites like the LG S80QR if you want to improve its surround performance down the line. That said, this model is a better value overall if you don’t watch much surround content.

Shopping on a budget? The LG S65Q might be the right pick for you. This affordable 3.1 setup comes with fewer bells and whistles than the top picks on our list, but it’s still a solid upgrade over your existing TV speakers that won’t break the bank. Overall, this setup is ideal for listening to stereo content, which includes most music and TV shows. Voices and lead instruments reproduce with great clarity and accuracy, and the discrete center channel works to improve dialogue reproduction. There’s no room correction tool like with the LG S80QY, but you can manually adjust the bar’s sound thanks to its bass and treble adjustments.
The bar’s also suitable for watching movies, including more immersive audio formats like Dolby Digital. It can playback surround sound content, though it has to downmix it into stereo, which reduces the overall immersive feel. You can’t watch Dolby Atmos content, which is disappointing, given how common it is on many different streamers. Low on space? Live in a smaller apartment? Check out the LG Eclair QP5. This small and compact soundbar is ideal for audiophiles with limited room in their setup. The bar is just under twelve inches wide, so it fits easily under your TV screen or monitor. It also comes with a subwoofer to improve the overall bass reproduction. It’s a small bar, but it still packs a punch—in fact, its soundstage extends well past the edges of the bar itself, so you get a more immersive feel. It’s especially useful with more immersive audio formats like Dolby Digital and Dolby Atmos.
This premium 3.1.2 soundbar is one of the smallest Dolby Atmos bars we’ve tested. However, it doesn’t come with satellites, and you won’t find a room correction feature like with the LG S95QR. As a result, it sounds different depending on the acoustics of your space. Thanks to the bass and treble adjustments, you can always make up for this manually. It supports TV Sound Mode Share, making it easy to pair the bar with a compatible LG TV for a more immersive sound. LG soundbars are generally very well-built, even their more affordable models. Some companies cover their soundbars with a dark fabric that tends to collect dust, making the bar look dirty. Fortunately, the LG soundbars we’ve tested all have a more premium design, with a brushed metal or textured plastic finish that looks and feels more high-end.
Great wireless playback options.
While most soundbars support Bluetooth, LG’s soundbars tend to go above and beyond by supporting wireless playback over Wi-Fi, as well as Chromecast built-in.
Lots of connectivity inputs.
All the LG soundbars we’ve tested have optical, HDMI ARC, and full-HDMI inputs, with the higher-end models often having two full HDMI inputs.
No graphic EQ.
Most LG soundbars come with standard bass and treble adjustment features to help you customize their sound. It’s suitable for more casual listeners, but audiophiles who like to control frequencies across the range will be disappointed by the lack of a full graphic EQ.
Unremarkable stereo soundstages.
A natural soundstage helps make music, movies, and video games sound more immersive. While none of the LG soundbars we’ve tested have a particularly bad soundstage, none are very good. Generally, they’re only about as wide as the bar itself, if not a bit narrower, and sound diffused.
Low max volume.
The LG soundbars that we’ve tested have all been quieter than most. Their 2018 models were the worst offenders, but even their newer releases struggle to get as loud as the competition.
LG vs Samsung
Samsung and LG both manufacture soundbars available at a wide array of price points to address different market segments. You can find top-of-the-line models with room calibration tools to optimize their sound, as well as more budget-friendly options designed as simple upgrades over your TV speakers. That said, Samsung’s bars tend to offer more customization tools, like a graphic EQ, so you have more control over their output across the range. Their soundstages are generally better than LG’s bars, too.
LG vs Sony
Sony has a slightly more limited soundbar lineup than LG, but you can still find everything from premium to budget-friendly models from the manufacturer. Both companies excel at dialogue reproduction, but LG tends to perform better with surround sound. Plus, they offer more customization tools on average when compared to Sony, so you can make them sound more like you want.
Like Sony or Samsung, LG makes different soundbars at several price points. While their higher-priced models are generally more feature-packed than their more affordable ones, all LG soundbars we’ve tested, regardless of price, have been well-built, with lots of different physical input options. The best LG soundbars support additional surround sound formats and wireless playback options but don’t deliver as premium an experience as other brands, especially when it comes to soundstage.

LG is a brand well-known for its wide range of TVs, but they’ve also been making quite a few different soundbar models over the past few years. They’re generally very well-built, with many different physical inputs and wireless playback options. However, they don’t deliver the best sound performance, mostly due to their fairly narrow, diffused soundstages. Fortunately, most of the models we’ve tested have a few different sound customization features, so you can usually tweak them a bit to get a sound profile you like.

Unveiled at CES this year, the LG SC9 and LG SE6 will both sync their audio with the speakers on select LG TVs.

LG made a splash at CES earlier this year with a pair of soundbars that can sync with the speakers of an LG TV, and the manufacturer just announced pricing and shipping dates for the new soundbars.
Both the LG Sound Bar C (aka the LG SC9) and the SE6 are available now, and the soundbars will sell for $999 and $450 respectively.

As LG detailed back in January during CES, the LG SC9 is a 3.1.3-channel soundbar with a wireless subwoofer and an “exclusive” mounting bracket for use with LG C2 and C3 OLED TVs. The SC9 also boasts LG’s triple up-firing drivers (including a center up-firing driver) for height cues, as well as support for IMAX Enhanced, Dolby Atmos, and DTS:X.
Meanwhile, the SE6 is a revamped version of LG’s diminutive Eclair soundbar from 2022. While the SE6 has a compact and rounded design similar to the Eclair, it ditches the older soundbar’s subwoofer in favor of an all-in-one 3.0-channel configuration, complete with four passive radiators.
The all-in-one LG SE6 soundbar has a design similar to last year’s compact LG Eclair.

Both soundbars will support a key new feature that LG unwrapped during CES: WOW Orchestra, which will allow the speakers to sync their audio with the drivers on supported LG TVs.
If LG’s WOW Orchestra feature sounds familiar, you’re probably thinking of Samsung’s Q-Symphony feature, which does essentially the same thing; specifically, it allows Samsung soundbars to bolster their audio by syncing with the speakers on select Samsung TVs. Samsung debuted its Q-Symphony feature back at CES 2020.
Besides coming to the LG SC9 and the SE6, LG’s WOW Orchestra feature will be coming to most of the manufacturer’s 2022 soundbars via a firmware update.
Other new features coming to LG’s latest soundbars include WOW Interface, a Roku TV Ready-style feature that lets LG TV owners set up and configure their soundbars using an on-screen interface.
Then there’s Triple Level Spatial sound, a feature that employs the front- and up-firing drivers on LG soundbars to add a “virtual middle” level of audio that creates a “dome of sound” around listeners. That should be interesting to hear.
Finally, a “Smart Up-mixer” will upmix stereo 2.0-channel audio to 9.1.2-channel sound.
Back to the LG SC9, the included bracket has been designed to fit LG’s C2 and C3 TVs “perfectly” and can be used in both wall-mount and stand configurations, according to LG.

LG Electronics launches new soundbars in 2023. In this article, we will take a look at the specs of the 2023 soundbars and learn about new features such as Smart Up Mixer, Clear Voice Plus, Triple Level Spatial Sound, AI Room Calibration Pro, WOW Orchestra. It will also talk about the XXL update for models available from 2022.
LG Soundbars 2023 – SC9, S77, SE6
There will be only three new soundbar models from LG Electronics in 2023. The reason is easy to explain. After all, last year’s models are still relevant. They will be updated with a comprehensive firmware update with new features. For now, let’s focus on the soundbar innovations that LG manages to fill in the gaps in its existing lineup and offer new acoustic upgrade technologies.
LG SC9 (SC9S)
This soundbar was already exhibited at CES 2023 with the C3 4K OLED TV. The SC9 has been developed to complement the top-selling LG C2 (2022) and LG C3 (2023) TVs. The basis for the interaction of the two components, of course, is the HDMI 2.1 interface.
It can not only process audio signals via eARC (Advanced Audio Return Channel), but also play 4K@120Hz including HDR, VRR or ALLM. The SC9 comes with two mounts. In the first case, the combination of OLED TV and soundbar can be mounted on the wall.
The second mounting option connects the soundbar and TV together to form a stand. In both cases, the interaction seems to be a single entity. The distance between the soundbar and the display is optimally chosen so that there are no problems with sound reproduction. If desired, you can use the SC9 soundbar with other TVs.
The SC9 soundbar has a lot to offer not only acoustically, but also in terms of function. Also, the SC9S soundbar provides 3.1.3 sound with a maximum output of 400W. Even this compact version uses a mid-mounted tweeter.
This should allow audio formats like Dolby Atmos, DTS:X or IMAX Enhanced to be handled even better. This separates the sound objects into surround and pitch levels. The optional wireless subwoofer reproduces low frequencies.
With the new Triple Level Spatial Sound function, even the third sound level switches between surround and high levels. When the combination of soundbar and subwoofer is optimally tuned using Ai Room Calibration Pro (also new), the listener is offered a clear localization of sound objects.
In addition, the device has a new Smart Up mixer, Clear Voice Plus, support for MQA streams (Spotify, TIDAL) and WOW Synergy with a compatible LG Smart TV. WOW Synergy provides the user with a clear user interface on the TV that can be used to set up the soundbar. The latter can be done using the Wow Orchestra feature. For even better sound, combine the soundbar with the TV’s built-in speakers.
LG S77 (S77S)
If you compare the list of equipment and functions of S77 (S77S) and SC9 (SC9S) described above, you can find many parallels. This is the same 400W system with 3.1.3 (3 height speakers) for Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, etc. The differences here lie in the target group and therefore in the details.
While SC9S buyers are usually looking for an acoustic companion for their C2/C3 OLED TV, the S77 (S77S) soundbar is actually a match for any TV. LG has scaled down the soundbar a bit and tried to make it more inconspicuous and at the same time attractive. The wireless subwoofer will also play the visual effects of the soundbar.
Since the S77 soundbar is aimed more at the “general masses”, LG deliberately removes features that are usually simply not needed. For example, the S77 lacks the ability to wirelessly connect to end devices. Therefore, it is not possible to wirelessly transmit audio from the TV to the soundbar via LG WOWCAST.
Also no support for voice assistants, AirPlay 2 or IMAX Enhanced audio tracks. Support for MQA (Master Quality Authenticated) audio streams via Spotify or TIDAL Connect doesn’t work either. The system supports 4K 120Hz pass-through, VRR, ALLM and eARC via HDMI 2.1. There are new Triple Level Spatial Sound, Smart Up Mixer and Clear Voice Plus features, as well as WOW Synergy with WOW Orchestra.
LG SE6 Eclair
The latest addition from LG Electronics is the SE6 (SE6S) Eclair. The Korean electronics manufacturer is using the catchy term “Eclair” for the second time. In 2021, the company has already released an extremely compact soundbar under this name. The model was delivered with an external subwoofer and, despite its small size, convinced with good, surround sound.
The “successor” SE6 Eclair continues this philosophy and develops it further. Customers choosing the old Eclair were primarily annoyed by the external subwoofer, which simply didn’t fit the “compact” design. Now, LG Electronics is installing a subwoofer directly into the SE6 Eclair Soundbar and is trying to take on the quality competition of all-in-one soundbars.
In any case, the manufacturer is satisfied with its concept and offers the buyer an attractive sound solution in the upper middle class. With four large drivers and a 25mm tweeter, the soundbar should outperform many competitors.
With a total power of 100W, the soundbar won’t destroy any walls. At the same time, it should offer the user improved acoustics compared to the TV’s built-in sound solution.
XXL update for 2022 soundbars
LG will use the majority of its existing soundbar portfolio in 2023 as well. This is understandable, as many devices continue to move with the times, and exchanging them for a new model or model number can be confusing.
The premium models S95QR (9.1.5), S90QY (5.1.3) and S80QR (5.1.3) are still available, as are the mid-range models S80QY (3.1.3), S75Q (3.1.2) and S65Q (3.1). Entry-level soundbars S60Q, S40Q and SH7Q with 2.1 or 5.1 sound will also be released.
As part of a major firmware update scheduled for summer 2023, six models will receive new features. The most impressive new feature that LG will introduce to the 2022 soundbars is the ability to transmit video signals at 4K resolution, 120Hz, active VRR and ALLM.
Previously, the maximum combination of resolution and refresh rate was limited to 4K@60Hz+VRR. LG is, so to speak, unlocking HDMI 2.1 functionality that was dormant in soundbars. The table below shows which models will receive new features with the firmware update.

LG Soundbar 2023 New Features and Specs
Let’s start with the feature that LG Electronics is likely to care about the most. With WOW Synergy, the Korean electronics manufacturer is trying to increase the synergy between TV and soundbar. Customers should be aware of the benefits of WOW Synergy so that they not only choose an LG soundbar but also a compatible smart TV of the same brand.
WOW Orchestra
WOW Orchestra is a feature that combines room-filling TV sound with clear sound reproduction. This means that WOW Orchestra, LG Soundbar and LG Smart TV work hand in hand to improve the sound quality. The sound stage will be expanded, and high and low frequencies will be better developed. By the way, Samsung’s analogue of this function is called Q-Symphony.
WOW interface
Compatible soundbars that are used in conjunction with the corresponding smart TVs from LG Electronics can now also be controlled directly on the TV via the WOW interface. The “dashboard” functionality goes far beyond the usual CEC-HDMI function.
All functions that the soundbar offers to the user must be able to be set, enabled or disabled. Users are sure to get even more value out of their sound solutions thanks to the intuitive user interface.
WOWCAST
The third function listed in WOW Synergy is WOWCAST. This is a solution for wireless transmission of audio signals from a TV to a compatible soundbar. WOWCAST is actually supported by all 2022/2023 LG soundbars that have wireless features.
However, WOWCAST requires additional equipment – the WOWCAST WTP3 wireless transmitter. It connects to the HDMI output using eARC and is powered via USB. When connected to an LG Soundbar, audio signals can now be transmitted wirelessly. Lossless audio streams such as Dolby Atmos will also be supported.
4K @ 120Hz, VRR, ALLM
One of the biggest surprises was the 120Hz feature that not only the new soundbars have, but also some of last year’s models. The HDMI 2.1 chipset has likely been dormant in the 2022 soundbar hardware for almost a year, and it will now be activated after a major summer 2023 update.
From now on, 4K video signals will go through the soundbar to a compatible TV at 120Hz, HDR, VRR and ALLM. This is ideal for owners of high-end gaming PCs, PlayStation5 or Xbox Series X. What’s the benefit? On the one hand, the user gets a smoother image with a resolution of 4K through 120 Hz.
On the other hand, you only need to use one HDMI input on your TV instead of two. Without the upgrade, the PC/console and soundbar had to be connected to the TV separately to be able to provide 4K@120Hz+VRR+HDR and audio playback via eARC. This is a big plus for new and existing customers.
Clear Voice Plus
Clear Voice Plus offers optimized sound mapping for dialogs, messages and the like. This feature has already been used in a modified form in LG’s AV product line.
In 2023 it has been improved again. Dialogue adaptation combined with background noise, music, etc. should work even better depending on the content. The function is certainly optimal for films and series in the original English language, since the dialogues here are often not very mixed.
Triple Level Spatial Sound
Some 2022/23 soundbars now feature Triple Sound technology, i.e. three upward facing speakers. In 2023, LG wants to take full advantage of this conceptual advantage with its Triple Level Spatial Sound technology.
An additional virtual audio layer (virtual middle layer) is added between the surround and height channels through channel analysis using an HRTF-based 3D engine. The end result should be a convincing sense of space, thanks to which sound objects can be even better positioned in the vertical plane.
Smart Up Mixer
The Smart Up Mixer is probably one of the important additions, along with 4K@120Hz functionality. On paper, at least, the technology sounds downright mesmerizing. Regardless of the source material (from 2.0 stereo), the upmixer analyzes the audio signal, optimizes it and adapts it to the existing sound system.
A simple stereo signal can also be used for the 9.1.5 system. There is a suspicion that the upmix here is performed at the channel level or at the layer level (surround sound, 2nd layer + height channels). It will be very interesting to hear this feature in action.
AI Room Calibration Pro
Soundbars adjust to room conditions with LG AI Advanced Room Calibration by analyzing the audio output. This results in higher sound fidelity in the low frequency range.
In addition, the frequencies of the front channels are separated to improve the overall balance, the clarity of vocal performances and cinematic dialogues, and the fidelity of the sound image. Other AI modes provide intelligent spatial adaptation by recognizing genres and adjusting appropriate frequency ranges for better sound reproduction.
MQA support
Quality sound reproduction is important not only for movies and series. Many users no longer want to do without high-quality sound in music. With MQA (Master Quality Authenticated) support for Spotify and TIDAL Connect, LG Electronics provides an additional reason to indulge in acoustics more often.
DTS:X and IMAX Enhanced
Another innovation is the IMAX Enhanced technology featured on select LG soundbars.
The most compact soundbars such as the LG QP5 (5.9cm high and 29cm long) and JBL Bar 2.0 All In One (5.8cm high and 61cm long) offer stereo sound with at least two drivers. These 2.0 and 2.1 stereo soundbars (with subwoofer) generally adopt a digital processor (DSP) responsible for widening the soundstage by creating virtual surround sound. Most often, these compact soundbars are sold together with a wireless subwoofer to provide a more spectacular sound experience. 
They are therefore ideal for enjoying a true cinema experience, from a single piece of equipment that can be placed in front of the television. These longer models are often intended for televisions with a screen size of at least 43” (108cm). 
1″ drivers into a soundbar that is just 5.1cm thick and 94cm long. It decodes the majority of Dolby and DTS multi-channel sound formats via its HDMI and S/PDIF inputs. This is the most powerful model from the Korean manufacturer. This bar is capable of producing 5.1.2 channel sound with a height of only 5.7cm.
