Xbox scorpio: Amazon.com: Xbox One X 1TB Limited Edition Console
gamescom 2017: Pre-Order the Xbox One X Project Scorpio Edition Now
Consoles
by Mike Nichols, Corporate Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer •
Today we unveiled the Xbox One X Project Scorpio Edition designed for fans who want to be the first to experience the world’s most powerful console – and it’s available for pre-order now for $499 USD until supplies run out.
When we announced Project Scorpio last year, we were overwhelmed by the excitement from our fans. And although we revealed Project Scorpio as Xbox One X at E3 earlier this year, the codename will live on in the Scorpio Engine that powers the console, as well as in this limited edition console. We designed the Project Scorpio Edition for fans to celebrate both our heritage and the power and precision that we are bringing into our future.
The Xbox One X Project Scorpio Edition features a custom design with the words “Project Scorpio” printed on the console and the controller and we’ve incorporated a sophisticated and dynamic graphic pattern across the exterior. Fans who have been with us since the very start of Xbox will notice the packaging is inspired by the original Xbox. The Project Scorpio Edition also comes with an exclusive vertical stand so you can choose how to display it in your home.
We’ll only have a limited number of Xbox One X Project Scorpio Edition consoles, and they will only be available as part of this pre-order. Get them now before they’re gone forever by pre-ordering from your local retailer, including Microsoft Store or Microsoft.com.
We are counting down to the launch of Xbox One X later this year and look forward to getting the world’s most powerful console into the hands of our fans. With 40 percent more power and 60 percent more memory for game developers than any other console, get ready to experience immersive true 4K gaming. Your games play better on Xbox One X and blockbuster titles look great, run smoothly, and load quickly even on a 1080p screen. And excitement and developer commitment for Xbox One X has grown since E3 and, to date, more than 100 new and existing games will be enhanced for Xbox One X to take advantage of its full power.
Xbox One X also works with all your existing Xbox One games and accessories and we’re thrilled to welcome it to the Xbox One family of devices joining Xbox One S. For fans looking for the best value in gaming and entertainment, Xbox One S continues to deliver and we just announced two new bundles joining the ranks – the Xbox One S Shadow of War bundles and the Xbox One S Minecraft Limited Edition bundle. Both Xbox One X and Xbox One S are built to take advantage of 4K entertainment, too, and include an Ultra HD Blu-ray player, 4K video streaming and HDR for videos and gaming.
Xbox One X Scorpio Differences Explained

Microsoft releases a slew of information regarding their upcoming high-powered console, the Xbox One X: The Project Scorpio Edition at GamesCom.
Xbox One X will release a limited-edition Project Scorpio iteration when the console drops this fall. The high-end version of the Xbox One is set to roll-out in the fall and is already available for pre-order, as well as its recently announced special iteration.
Officially announced back in June during this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), Microsoft has been teasing the new console for quite some time now. Initially dubbed as most powerful console ever, it is geared towards those who are looking for a new gaming device that would provide 4k resolution and supersampling in order to fully take advantage of the graphical upgrades on high definition display games. Interestingly, before it was officially dubbed as Xbox One X, it had the code name Project Scorpio.
The reveal that the Xbox One X will have a special edition called the Project Scorpio when it hits the shelves was made during Microsoft pre-Gamescom briefing subsequently followed by the release of an official statement (via Kotaku) from the Redmond-based multinational technology company regarding the two consoles:
“When we announced Project Scorpio last year, we were overwhelmed by the excitement from our fans. And although we revealed Project Scorpio as Xbox One X at E3 earlier this year, the codename will live on in the Scorpio Engine that powers the console, as well as in this limited edition console. We designed the Project Scorpio Edition for fans to celebrate both our heritage and the power and precision that we are bringing into our future.”
So technically, what is the difference between Xbox One X and the limited release Project Scorpio? According to Microsoft, the latter will sport an aesthetic resembling the original Xbox plus with the addition of the cool-looking green colored name of the system on its front, as well as, a gradient design. Further, a special controller which will have “Project Scorpio Edition” also in green lettering will also be included in the package. Other than these cosmetic changes, there seem to be no significant differences between Project Scorpio with the standard Xbox One X with their internal hardware mostly identical. If anything, the $499 (same price as the 1 TB Xbox One X ) device is only for those die-hard fans of the console line who want to acquire a unit of the one-off variant.
Some of the games that would benefit from the players’ upgrade to the new Xbox One X or Project Scorpio include Halo 5 and Gears of War 4, as both titles will get free 4K upgrades in the future in light with new console’s in-system 4K and HDR capability. Moving forward, around 100 existing games are also expected to undergo the same treatment.
Those who are already pondering whether to get the upgraded console, regardless if it’s the standard Xbox One X or Project Scorpio, but worried about transitioning from their old system to the new one need not worry as the switch is said to be very straightforward. Microsoft has explained that anything from the external hard-drive can be easily swapped over to the new hardware. Games, on the other hand, can be simply copied via the in-home network.
