Adjusting the camera or lens

Adjusting the camera or lens ensures that the autofocus system works properly and other optical parameters are in line with the manufacturer’s specifications. It is required in the following cases:

1. If, when shooting in autofocus mode, a subject is focused on, and the picture shows that the device actually focused on another point that is closer or further away from the selected object (this is the so-called “front focus” or “back focus “).

What should I do if “broken” pixels are found in the device?

“Broken” pixels in a digital camera (camcorder) are elements of a photosensitive matrix or LCD screen that are out of order for some reason, which appears on the image in the same places as a dot or a group of dots that are constantly lit any one color, or not luminous at all (black).

First you need to determine where the “broken” pixels are. If they are visible on the machine’s LCD screen but not in pictures when viewed on a computer, then the problem is with the LCD screen. Canon allows the presence of “broken” pixels in the amount of no more than 0.01% of the total number of screen elements. For this information, including the number of screen items, refer to the machine’s instruction manual. If “broken” pixels are visible in the pictures, then the reason is in the photosensitive matrix. At the same time, their visibility is the greater, the greater the shutter speed at which the picture is taken. It must be taken into account that it is possible to determine whether the number and visibility of “broken” pixels on the matrix is ​​​​admissible only in a service center using a special program. A special software procedure – “remapping” – identifies defective pixels, excludes them from the image formation process in the device and replaces the missing information with data received from neighboring healthy pixels. After carrying out such a procedure, it is visually impossible to determine those places where there were “broken” pixels. Any other methods, for example, shooting with the lid closed, will not provide reliable information and are not grounds for making claims.

Under the manufacturer’s warranty, remapping is free of charge and an unlimited number of times during the warranty period. This is important because “broken” pixels may appear during the operation of the device.

The Error.ru service center does not return my equipment after repair — Reception at vc.ru

Good afternoon. On April 1, 2023, I took the Razer microphone to the Error.ru service center. This service center is located in Moscow, next to the Schukinskaya metro station and has a website of the same name. There are a lot of positive reviews and a high rating on Yandex maps, so I had no doubts about the decency of this center.
So, I came to the address, the door was closed, but the light was on inside, and there was a note on the door that it was a break and that you should call the indicated number. After waiting a bit, I still dialed, an employee of the center answered me, introduced himself as Denis, asked what the problem was, said that he would be there in an hour. An hour later, he really arrived at the service center, I voiced the problem – the mini-jack is junk, despite the fact that the microphone itself works flawlessly for sound recording. Denis took the device and gave me a form, where the application number, device name and malfunction were indicated: connector replacement. I specified when the repair would be carried out – a period of one day was announced. Here I will add a clarification that in the receipt issued to me, no deadlines were prescribed, payment should have been made after the repair was completed.

I didn’t demand any special urgency of repair, so I just expected a call about readiness. But the next day I didn’t get a call, and the next day, too. After which I called myself to find out if the repair was progressing. Denis answered and said that there were some difficulties with the repair, allegedly he could not find the right connector, but he would try again and it would take some time. I thought the situation was regular, there was nowhere to hurry, let it be repaired further. On the website of the service center there is a form where you can enter the application number and track the status of the repair, all this time the application had the status “under repair”.

Time passed, but I didn’t receive any calls about readiness, a couple of times a week I made a call to Denis to find out at what stage the microphone repair was. Each time he answered and talked about new difficulties, promising that he would try again. After almost three weeks, I called again and said that I wanted to pick up the microphone, as I doubt that repair is possible after so many attempts. To which he answered me, of course, I can pick it up, only before arriving at the service center you need to call him. I tried to arrange that I would come the next day, but he insistently asked me to call in advance.

Well, I did not argue and called in advance the next day an hour before arrival, as agreed. But they did not answer my call, neither the first nor the subsequent ones. I arrived at the place, the door was locked, the light was on inside, the same note hung on the door. It was April 28th. Here is a curious photo of Denis’s workplace, in the center is my disassembled microphone.

I stood at the closed door for a while, left, walked about an hour in the neighborhood, came back again. But the situation has not changed in any way: there is no one in the office, the light is still on, they do not answer my calls.
I looked a couple of times at the service center, already without a preliminary call, the situation was similar, no one was inside.

All this time I periodically looked at the site error.ru to check the status of my application and at some point I found that it was closed and the microphone was issued.

But no one gave me the device, so I decided to call again and tell them again that I want to take my microphone. They answered me approvingly, again asking me to make a call an hour before arrival. And again history repeated itself.

So the question is what action to take? It is unrealistic to catch the master, since he does not happen on the spot. I suspect there are no other employees there.
The saddest thing is the acceptance receipt, in which there are no deadlines or guarantees, but it indicates a fee for storage and “disposal” in case the customer does not pick up the equipment.
