A very strange idea, it seems went beyond a stupid joke

Stas Baretsky, an overweight St. Petersburg freak, is known primarily for outrageous and insane actions: either he breaks iPhones as a sign of fighting the United States, or he allegedly bites iron cans of beer with his teeth (in fact, this is just a trick), so the announcement that that he became the producer of the film “Brother-3” at first seemed just another circus joke.

But no.

Apparently, Baretsky seriously intends to bring the matter to a victorious end. Otherwise, how can you perceive the first teaser of the film, which was released on Youtube?

At the beginning of the video, it is indicated that the film is dedicated to the producer’s mother and everyone who died from covid. The remaining three minutes of the video are a duel of glances. The famous rapper Ptakhi (David Nuriev) and an overweight bearded man, similar to one of the living memes of the “Russian spring”: the Cossack Babai from Belorechensk (Alexander Mozhaev). The men look at each other, after which Ptah, apparently responsible for the image of the Brother, asks: “Well, tell me, gypsies, what is the truth?”

– The truth is in force, – he answers in a voice that is not his own. Obviously, the re-voicing was not very successful.

All this time, melancholy music sounds meaningfully behind the scenes. After that, Ptaha, holding a pistol in his hand with the muzzle directed towards his own head, takes out a cigarette and puts it in his mouth.

“It’s a new life,” adds Gypsy in a cartoonish voice.

And only after this philosophical phrase “Brother” lights a match and lights up. Lyric piano sounds.

Seeing this micro-masterpiece, the audience immediately wildly downvoted the video: 6.6 thousand dislikes against 234 likes – such an advantage is extremely rare on Youtube, even for the most unsuccessful works.

Comments speak for themselves: “I hope this is the whole movie”, “Dull shit, your weak attempt to ride on the success of “Brother 1” and “Brother 2” is stupid, don’t be embarrassed, you won’t raise money. A stillborn project”, “Even if you have the best plot in the history of cinema, you simply have no moral right to call your film “Brother 3” without Balabanov and Bodrov”, “The cameramen will be surprised when they find out that the camera is up and down can go”, “Better take Stas Baretsky, he will ask: “What is the beer in?” “In the bank” And gnawed the bank.

However, the director of the film, Valery Pereverzev, assures that the title of the film and the questions raised in the trailer, which obviously refer to Balabanov’s dilogy, have nothing to do with “Brother” and “Brother-2”. Allegedly, the picture is actually a melodrama based on the patterns of Romeo and Juliet.

– To quote the teaser verbatim, it’s a new life, – says the director. – Yes, there is a similar play on words: the words “brother”, “truth”, “strength” are used. But these words are mentioned in all the films that are shot in the Russian Federation. A play on words, like a play on notes. “Brother” Balabanov also had many predecessors. The hero of my painting is an artist, and his girlfriend is the general’s daughter Katya. Characters are waiting for a huge number of adventures, including chases from bandits and gunfights. I note that it is the gypsy family that will help the artist and Katya in the key moment of one of the short stories. The main conflict in the film is the struggle of social classes and the stereotypes of society that accompany them, which interfere with the most important thing – love.
