Best car alarms in 2018 – 2019

The main task of a car alarm is to protect the car from thieves. If the alarm is unreliable, the car can be easily broken into and stolen. And the driver will only know about it when he sees an empty parking space.

Remember: the alarm does not protect the car from theft by 100%. In order to secure the car as much as possible, the masters advise adding additional accessories: a blocking relay, GSM and GPS modules, a regular immobilizer crawler.

    The best alarms of 2018 – 2019:

  1. Without auto start
  2. Auto start
  3. and GSM

Without auto start

Such alarms are cheaper than “colleagues” with auto start. Suitable for those who do not plan to start the car remotely or live in a warm climate where cars do not freeze in winter.

StarLine A63 ECO – the best

Starline has the most inexpensive alarm system – save on autostart, but not on brand and quality. The channel is protected by 128-bit encryption. Easily installed in any car without a CAN bus.

Autorun, GSM and GPS, 2CAN + LIN module for installation in a car with CAN buses can be connected to the system. That is, you can first buy an inexpensive alarm that will not hit your pocket, and gradually buy additional modules.

StarLine E66 2CAN+2LIN ECO – saves energy

Just a good signal. Suitable for all vehicles thanks to built-in CAN bus. The signal is protected from hacking and interference.

Consumes very little energy – works up to 60 days in protection mode. You can add additional modules: Bluetooth, autorun, GPS, GSM.

Pandect X-1000BT

The alarm works without a separate key fob – the car is opened from the phone via Bluetooth. In the mobile application, you can conveniently customize the alarm to suit your needs. The Slave function is built-in – you can open the car from your own key fob.

The dimensions of the basic signaling unit are only 45x25x8 mm – you can hide it in the car so that the hijacker will never find it. For additional protection against theft, a blocking relay is included in the kit.

Pandect X-1000BT is installed in any car thanks to the CAN-LIN bus. You can connect additional devices: hood lock, GSM and GPS modules, autorun.

Scher-Khan Mobicar A v 2.0

Among all the new generation Scher-Khan alarms, this is the most budgetary. The kit comes with a CAN bus – you can connect it to any car with CAN. Version 2.0 has Bluetooth – you can control the alarm from your smartphone. Also included is a key fob and a Slave system for working from a standard key. If desired, you can buy and install a module for autorun.

Auto start

Such alarms start the engine remotely – at the touch of a button, at a certain time, or if it gets too cold outside. They help to warm up the car in advance and do not let it freeze in winter.

StarLine A93 2CAN+2LIN ECO – best

For an alarm with auto start, it is quite inexpensive. Thanks to the 2CAN + 2LIN bus, it is easy to install in any car, even stuffed with electronics. Able to bypass the standard immobilizer without a key, you can set the engine start by hours and days of the week. It is easy to connect additional accessories to the alarm system for better protection against theft, for example, GPS and GSM modules.

StarLine is not a Chinese noun, but a well-known brand. The manufacturer has technical support that will help you set up the alarm correctly, answer your questions, and in the event of a breakdown, they will exchange alarm components under warranty.

Pandora DX 50S (2CAN-LIN + IMMO-key) – budget

Among the Pandora alarms, this is the most inexpensive. Each alarm has its own 128-bit encryption key – it is impossible to hack electronically. Bypassing the standard immobilizer is available right out of the box.

The power consumption of the Pandora DX 50S is only 7 mA – less than most other models. The alarm will not drain the car battery and will allow you to start the engine after a long period of inactivity.

Pandora DX 90B

This alarm has bluetooth. Within its scope, you can control the alarm from your smartphone – arm and disarm the system, start and stop the engine, adjust the sensitivity of sensors and start the engine on schedule.

The kit includes a bluetooth tag – with it, the system identifies you as the owner and allows you to open the door and start the car with a standard key. If you try to open the car without a tag, the alarm will go off. The smartphone also works as a Bluetooth tag.

Like the model above, it is protected by an individual dialogue code – it is impossible to hack the alarm electronically.

Scher-Khan Mobicar A v 2.0 with M1 autostart module

The Scher-Khan Mobicar A signal is encrypted using the AES-128 algorithm – it is almost impossible to hack it electronically. Supports Bluetooth – you can control the alarm from your smartphone and use your phone as a Bluetooth tag for additional protection.

Thanks to the autorun module, M1 can be installed on a car without a CAN bus. Supports keyless bypass of the standard immobilizer on most car models. There is a SLAVE mode – you can open and start the car from a regular key fob.

Auto start and GSM

Such alarms are connected to a key fob or smartphone via GSM, that is, mobile communications. This allows you to monitor the car at any distance, manage the protection of the car even from another city. The GSM signal is not blocked by jammers.

Pandect X-1800 BT – best

A hack-resistant communication channel, an engine blocking relay, a built-in bypass of the standard immobilizer on almost all cars – you don’t have to make duplicate keys and additional key fobs. GSM traffic is paid, but there is free Bluetooth, which works well over short distances.

Through Bluetooth, you can control the alarm from your smartphone and use it as a Bluetooth tag for additional protection. There is also a standard label in the kit, if the smartphone does not suit you as a label.

This model does not have GPS, but LBS POSITIONING technology helps to find a car using a smartphone if it is within the range of a cellular network.

StarLine A93 GSM

In the basic configuration, the alarm only has a GSM module and the ability to bypass the regular immobilizer on some cars. But it is easy to modify it: add GPS, a blocking relay, a volume sensor – you can buy only what you need.

The set includes two keychains – full and additional. You can control the alarm functions from your phone via the GSM interface.

For installation in modern cars, you will need a 2CAN-2LIN adapter. With it, it will be possible to bypass almost any regular immobilizer.

StarLine S96 BT 2CAN+2LIN GSM/GPS+GLONASS – complete set

This alarm has everything: GPS, Bluetooth, built-in ability to bypass the standard immobilizer and work with a regular key fob. Supports preheaters for Webasto and Eberspacher engines – they can be started remotely.

There is no key fob with a display in the alarm kit at all. A smartphone is used to set up the alarm, the car is disarmed by a smartphone or a Bluetooth tag.

A 3G modem is installed in the GSM module, the signal is much better and faster, especially among high-rise buildings or in an underground parking lot. Communication via GSM goes through calls and SMS – you can call the car and ask how it is doing.

Prizrak-8L – economical

The most inexpensive of the alarm systems with GSM. All the necessary functions are in place: keyless start, Bluetooth, built-in CAN controller. There is a free monitoring mode – even without paying for a GSM connection, you can monitor the car from anywhere in the world.

A special feature is the “beach mode”. On vacation, you can close all personal belongings in the cabin along with car keys – to open the doors, you just need to enter a predetermined code using the buttons on the doors or trunk.

Pandora DXL 4910

The CAN controller of this alarm works simultaneously with three CAN buses, which allows it to effectively control the electronics of complex modern cars.

The alarm has a built-in GPS module, Bluetooth, an engine blocking radio relay, the Slave function and keyless entry work. There is an integrated 868 MHz radio module, so the alarm works not only with a smartphone and tags, but also with a key fob.

Built-in redundant power provides additional protection. If the car thief somehow cuts off the power of the car, the built-in alarm battery will send an alarm notification to the smartphone or key fob.

Types of car alarms

Every car owner knows that a car without an alarm is a great gift for a car thief. The locks installed by the manufacturer will not become a serious obstacle for an experienced specialist. When applying for a lease or a loan, the bank will most likely require the car buyer to purchase a comprehensive insurance policy. And many insurance companies issue it only if the car is protected from theft. If the car buyer does not understand the classification of alarms, then he risks acquiring inefficient equipment or, conversely, overpaying for unclaimed functionality.

Alarm without feedback

Inexpensive car owners used to install systems without feedback en masse, but now their popularity has declined. The set of equipment includes a shock sensor, central locking, a siren and a key fob with a button. If an intruder tries to break the glass, open the door or trunk, the system will beep and attract the attention of the owner or passers-by. Signaling without feedback has serious disadvantages:

  • it uses a static security code and is hacked by any code grabber;
  • the owner will not hear the siren if he is far from the car.

Because of this, experts consider such a system to be anti-vandal: it can scare away hooligans who do not have theft skills.

Alarm with feedback

The alarm with feedback is equipped with shock and volume sensors, and on its key fob there is an LCD display with a picture of a car. The system works with a conversational code, and a potential hijacker will not be able to decrypt it with a regular code grabber. car alarm
triggered by impact, attempts to open the lock, move the car or raise it with a jack. At the same time, a siren is activated, and a notification is sent to the key fob. The owner of the car sees on the display which sensor has worked.

The essence of the feedback is that the car and the key fob “see” each other at a distance of up to 2.5 km. The alarm notifies the owner of the disconnection. Even if the attacker uses electronic means or jammers, the system will let you know about it.

Alarm with feedback and auto start

Many manufacturers add an automatic engine start unit to the feedback alarm. The electronic module works remotely or according to a user-defined program. The alarm performs all the security functions described above and starts the car engine at the request of the owner, according to temperature or according to a schedule.

Telematic alarms

Most experts consider telematics alarms to be the most effective means of anti-theft today. Accordingly, it costs more than other systems. Telematic alarm system transmits a signal through a GSM module, so its range is practically unlimited. Even being abroad, the owner of the car can request its status and coordinates.

Manufacturers of telematic alarms have developed applications for mobile devices. All information about the condition of the car, its owner receives on a smartphone or tablet. When attempting to hijack, an alarm message will be sent to the dispatcher, who will immediately call a rapid response team.

The group of companies “Caesar Satellite” offers to protect your car by installing a satellite security system. If you try to steal, the system instantly sends a signal to the monitoring center, more than 5,000 partner and own rapid response teams are ready to leave in any emergency situation with your car, and a satellite search system allows you to track the location of the car.
