This weekend, Team 357 attended the 2008 Philadelphia Regional hosted at Drexel University. Competing against 43 other teams from the area, Royal Assault knew they faced a big challenge. During the first few qualifying matches on Friday morning, they hit a stroke of bad luck, losing several of their first matches. However, as Friday afternoon came around their luck changed and they rose up the rankings. Finishing the qualifying matches on Saturday ranked in 7th place, Royal Assault headed into elimination matches with their new alliance partners, 1727 Rex, and 709 Femme Tech Fatale. Despite the strength of this alliance, the partnership of teams 365 MOE, 341 Miss Daisy, and 84 Chuck, who ultimately went on to win the event, proved too much and they elimated Team 357 in their third quarterfinal match. Throughout all of this, the screams and cheers of the purple and gold could be heard throughout the arena, and despite their loss, they continued to cheer for every team during the elimination matches. Everyone was in agreement that this was an exciting and suspense filled event that they won't forget for a long time to come.
