Smooth-On is a company who deals with urethane compounds for a multitude of purposes. In 2005 we contacted Smooth-On and they donated samples of different durometer (or hardness) urethanes for our mecanum wheels. In 2006 Smooth-On again donated the needed urethane for our 2006 robot along with the material needed for the InvenTeams wheelchair. In addition to the urethane, Smooth-On supplied our team with different forms of Ura-bond, a chemical which will bone two different durometers of urethane together, along with a special Ura-bond, of which we were the first testers. We used this Ura-bond to hold the two layers of urethane together in our rollers.
