About Team 357

Inspired from the writings of Theodore Roosevelt, “Far better it is to Dare Mighty Things…”, the award-winning Upper Darby High School’s Robotics & Engineering team participates in numerous robotics programs, community service projects, and educational opportunities.

Since 1999, our dedicated students, teachers, mentors, and community partners have celebrated and embraced science and technology. We have grown from a small group of about 15 members, to nearly 50. Since our rookie year of competition, we have become well-known within the FIRST community for our innovative engineering, gracious professionalism, and spirited competition, continually striving to uphold our team motto, “Dare Mighty Things”.

In 2007, we secured two provisional patents for the student designed “Batter-Ease” and “Jester Glide,” and in 2008, we earned an additional provisional patent for the “MacAdaman Wheel”. We were also featured in FIRST Robots: Behind the Design and FIRST Robots: Rack ‘N’ Roll.
