Kickoff 2009-2010

On January 9, 2010 Royal Assault began the 2010 FIRST season by inviting robotics teams from the tri-state area to participate in the Local Remote Kick-Off Event, hosted by Upper Darby High School's Robotics & Engineering Team.

On that bitter cold Saturday, a total of 39 teams joined us for a live viewing of 2010 "Breakaway". The day started early for our team members, working furiously to keep everything in order and running properly for the thousand plus students and mentors in attendance. Teams eagerly came through the doors of the Performing Arts Center (PAC) at 8 o'clock, and were welcomed to a complimentary breakfast.

At 9:15 everyone filed inside the auditorium and sat anxiously in their seats watching the screen for the FIRST symbol to appear. After the game was unveiled, workshops were available to team members hosted by seasoned mentors, including a current 357 student, on various topics to help them through the 6-week build season.

After all was said and done, everyone agreed it was a great start to the season. With the build season ahead of us, there is a lot of difficult and challenging work yet to do for team 357; but we are ready to "Dare Mighty Things!"
