Summer Robotics Camp
The Upper Darby High School Robotics & Engineering Team under the direction of Ms. Beth Hale and Mrs. Dina Schuman operate a Summer Robotics Camp for Elementary and Middle School students in the Upper Darby, Clifton Heights and Milbourne communities. The purpose of the camp is introduce students to a variety of engineering and programming challenges designed to inspire young students to take an active interest in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) related classes, hobbies, and eventually careers.
The summer camp is divided into week long sessions that provide hands-on, age appropriate technology challenges. Each session concludes with a friendly competition between the campers and a presentation of their robot projects to their parents.
The start-up costs were provided by a grant from the Upper Darby Arts and Education Foundation.
